Oriental Dancer
This is a character I drew just for fun, inspired by the beautiful costumes and accessories worn in belly dance and oriental dance. Please note that "oriental" is not meant as a slur here, this is the proper name used in the UK for dances from Egypt, Turkey, and the Arabian Peninsula as well as modern dance styles combining elements of these traditional dances. I have learned these dances and they are a wonderful way to express yourself and train your body. This character was also inspired by the Eastern influenced art seen in early 20th century storybook illustrations, such as the 1001 Nights illustrated by Kay Nielsen and Edmund Dulac.

Egyptian Hawawshi
"The pita bread was slit open and filled with a thin layer of a meat mixture that stayed pleasingly moist after baking, mildly flavored with onion and garlic, with pickles on the side to act as palate cleansers between bites." Egyptian Hawawshi
Hawawshi, an Egyptian street food, is a flatbread stuffed with a seasoned mixture of minced beef and/or lamb and baked. Many articles online claim that they were invented in Cairo in the early 1970s by an Egyptian butcher either named Mohamed al-Hawawshi or Ahmed el-Hawawsh. SIX DEGREES (or less) OF KEVIN BACON - the James Lance edition.
Kevin starred in the Fox series THE FOLLOWING alongside James Purefoy. Purefoy was in HBO's ROME with Kevin McKidd. McKidd was in the film THE ACID HOUSE with fellow Scot Michelle Gomez
Gomez starred in THE BOOK GROUP with James Lance.
Looking like a tart.
Gomez also co-produced and had a small role in SUBTERRAIN which was executive produced by her husband Jack Davenport.
More strings that bind us them.
Davenport was one of the stars of COUPLING and who else starred in that? Richard Mylan,
who had the impossible task of replacing Richard Coyle (who would much later go on to work with Michelle Gomez in THE CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA).
Mylan appeared in the film CITY RATS with James Lance as the guy who actually succeeds in Operation Get Chris (Lance's character) Laid.
Beyond being costars, they are friends. Richard attended Lance and Kate Quilton's wedding
and James was best man at Richard's.
Supporting Richard's theatre program.
And while Richard cheers on James' in TED LASSO
being Welsh and a Wrexham supporter he has another football show he's a fan of.
Richard was a producer of James' short film THE LEAD and James was the lead of Richard's short film THE MAC GUY.
