Damon didn't remember the seven minutes between dropping his phone and the general awareness that he was in a car. No not a car. Lizzy's car. His daughters car.
The vampire groaned and let his head loll back against the expensive leather headrest, smearing it with blood. He wasn't healing. Whatever they used had vervain......Or his blood alcohol content was something something so stupidly high that there just wasn't enough blood circulating to start the healing process. At this point he had no way of knowing.
Internally he was kicking himself, Lizzy shouldn't have to see him like this. She was the ONE THING he was trying to get right lately. But no he calls her in he middle of the night because.... Well because no one else picked up the damn phone.
I'm sorry.
He wanted to say.
"I need a drink..."

Sardonic quip came naturally, regarding her with an air of amusement as he glanced over the drink he’d just purchased. While he had been advised making jokes about murder was frowned upon, there were often times he couldn’t resist. It was either laugh or cry, considering his moral conscience liked to rear its ugly head at the most inconvenient times. ( Still, who was she trying to convince? Talk about lack of acting. ) It took a chaotic soul to know another and it was rare he was wrong about someone, adept at stripping people down to flesh and bone, and seeing what made them tick. Not to mention she screamed trouble. Built in radar had alerted him to this instantaneously. Fooling him? Not so easy.
‘Maybe try rehearsing that line next time? It needs work. I would give it a C minus honestly.’

"Fine, how I feel about my children. I feel like I failed them. I feel like, I don't deserve them. Lizzy especially. Why? Because I know it's not fair to be the mother to Lizzy that Nadia never got. I failed Nadia and I wasn't there for her, I didn't fight hard enough for her, and I'm pretty sure that's why I go back and fourth through phases where I fight extra hard to be in Lizzy's life or I just disappear convinced she's better off without me.
I feel like I don't deserve to be a mother, I feel like I'm shit at it. I didn't even recognize Nadia. Aren't mother's supposed to have some kind of insane connection with their children that they just sense it? I had no idea who she was till she told me. You'd think the hair and attitude would have been tips but no. I'm such a shit mother I didn't see that fucking plot twist happening right in front of me. I was SO blind to it I literally stabbed her. What kind of mother stabs her fucking kid because she cant use her spooky mom senses to detect theres a connection there. Some mothers lift cars off their kids, I apparently stab mine with half a cane. Sorry bout that Nadia..."

The werepup actually yips in excitement when the pink R. R. appears at the end of the street. He's immediately so full of energy that he bangs on the windowsill and does a few little jumps on his carpeted floor. So much so that, separately, Jenna and Elena both call out for him to stfu. @baby-royalty only drives over when she has too much to bring along.
