What can I say, I love Blood Angels ❤ And I'm glad to know it's mutual because they come to my aid whenever I feel down and want to bleed inks on marker paper and mentally rave to 70s synthesizers.
And big thanks to Soyuzmultfilm for the amazing animated short inspired by Moche/Mochica mythology. It's so visually stunning and trippy and more importantly it shows proper research of the source material.

I just wanted him to look like he comes from/represents the desert of Baalfora/Baal Secundus and…he also a little bit like his papa, considering his feelings about being worship and stuff… :)

May I ask you…Is Ruinstorm a fun novel? …I read Angels of Caliban, better said I tried to read Angels of Caliban and….I need some recommendations…please
Ruinstorm is dramatic - it could make a good film with the right visual effects. And we first start to see the Sanguinor become a part of the lore, and Sanguinius really starts to suffer from visions, more so than before. And of course Konrad being the delightful agent of chaos he is. But fun? More angsty if I recall. The main legions/Primarchs confront temptations, more daemons, and outsized Warp insanity. It’s an important part of the storyline for the legions and Primarchs involved but I wouldn’t use the word “fun”.
Have you read the books about Imperium Secundus that come before it & Angels of Caliban?
Because The Unremembered Empire and Pharos are two of my favorite books in the whole series. Those are necessary to understand what’s going on in Angels of Caliban & Ruinstorm. They feature Guilliman/Lion/Sanguinius versus Konrad Curze being Konrad Curze. And two lovely Astartes characters, Alexis Pollux and Barabas Dantioch, their bromance (or more, according to many fans) is really worth reading.
And they’re both fun as hell because the Primarch banter is 🔥🔥
Also, as someone who is a fan of Azkaellon, you will definitely want to read Pharos.
One other thing - I’ve mostly listened to the series on audio books because for years I had a job that required me to commute 4+ hours a day. And the way narrator Jonathan Keeble voices Sanguinius is just absolute perfection.
@dese-o thank you for the ask!! Hope this is helpful in some way!

So I've finally picked up Fear to Tread, and I'm not that far in yet. Horus finds out about the Red Thirst:
Tumblr media
But its ok because he promises to Sanguinius that he'll keep the secret! Excellent, this can't possibly end badly /s
and then:
Tumblr media
Excuse me, sirs, but what did you expect to do?? And you really going to walk up to Horus Luprecal and tell him "no"???
I realize the play would have been to inform Sanguinius The mental image of any astartes trying to tell a primarch "no" is comical - at this point in the narrative - and what first came to mind.

Azkaellon is so uptight he needs a good pegging.
Pull his hair, too. Rub his nipples or sumn.

This was also drawn for @fourgods-nobrakes for the ficinabox exchange on AO3. They requested Chaos!Sanguinius and I knew had to do it. >3 This was A LOT of fun to work on, even though now I wish I'd added more details to the armor, boo. Anyways, he has Raldoron and Azkaellon on either side of him, gazing with absolute trust, but I really needed Amit to be a bit more monster-y. <3
Also, Sanguinius has a crow of "thorns" (actually just horns) and a lion's tail to symbolize Christ, since Warhammer loves Catholicism so much.

hy sister, if it's not a headache, could you show some highlights od Curze's trial after he is captured?
Oh Curze’s trial is so much fun. For Curze anyway. 🤣 It covers several chapters so it’s hard to pick the best parts. I’m posting probably too many pages, but it’s all just too good.
The trial is a Macragge-wide spectacle. They had to give out tickets to the public to keep the numbers to code. Guilliman refused to live-stream it though. That would be undignified.
The crimes include murder, murder, lots more murder, and also tearing Azkaellon’s arm off and throwing him out a window. He’s okay though. But Curze taunts him about it. The Lion asks how Curze pleads and Curze basically says “oh I did all that stuff, but it’s not crimes. Not unless what you all do all the time is also crimes, then we’re just all war criminals together. Especially the psycho from Caliban.”
Guilliman and Sanguinius: Lion, what did you do? We said no orbital bombardments I’m sure you didn’t do that right? Curze says: hmm funny how a bunch of proscribed weapons just fall out of the sky like that? Lion: oh no I used drop pods as bombers so it wasn’t technically orbital…. Guilliman/Sanguinius: what the actual- Curze: *laughs his ass off*
They sentence Curze to death and banish the Lion who teleports out, but since there are Rules about No Swords in the Courtroom, nobody has a sword to execute him with. Sanguinius says, not a problem I’ll kill him with my bare hands, and is about to when the Lion teleports back in having just had an Important Thought.
I love this damn story arc so much.

Another dose of sweetness from the Blood Angels. This time the old composition. I call them "Kindergarten named after Sanguinius. Senior Group "

Hello friend, canwe see Azkaellon getting to relax for once?
Tumblr media
No rest for the not-so-wicked!
Here's Azkaellon after Curze used him as some kind of toy/pawn on Macragge to unnerve Sanguinius (I think it's in the Pharos-novel).

Still working on this fic. What am I even doing? First attempt at spicy fic, first fic in this fandom. First fic at all in many years. And I have to jump in at the deep end? These two I swear. This Azkaellon/Sanguinius ship is causing me major brain rot so I will keep going but they both take themselves too seriously. If I ever finish this the next one will be over the top absurd. Probably involving Abaddon being placed in some silly situation. OK I'm already planning that one.
Anyway, here's a SFW excerpt of my WIP, enjoy?
Azkaellon was late making his report to the Primarch.
Every security check, every investigation of unusual activity that could signal a potential Warp incursion, every attempt to traverse from one end of the damaged Red Tear to the other, took longer than it ought to.  The Blood Angels and what remained of the human crew had worked tirelessly to repair the ship’s essential functions and return as much of the ship’s armament to operational status as possible.  And, thank the stars, the Geller field had held until they were able to exit the warp into the safe haven of Guilliman’s realm. They were very nearly in orbit around Macragge.
But attending to business as usual was nearly impossible when it took eight tries, a repair team, and finally, Azkaellon’s frustrated punch of gold ceramite to the bloody console, just to open a recalcitrant door from one sector to another.
And so Azkaellon was late. The other Sanguinary Guard redirected him from the primary war room, where the Primarch had been for most of the day, to his training room. “Training room” was something of an absurd understatement to describe the great hall with its impossibly high vaulted ceilings. Yet it had to be so spacious in order to accommodate the Angel, who fought in all directions including up.
Azkaellon entered the room, and turned his gaze upward, and further upward still. The Angel’s pale, winged form was a blur in midair as he shattered a flying drone with a downward thrust of his training spear, pausing a fraction of a second before zooming toward the next. In that pause, Azkaellon glimpsed his lord, and his breath caught. Throne, he is perfect. Not in an abstract sense, or with any poetic license, but literally and truly perfect. Unarmored, wearing only a red loincloth, the Angel’s muscles were taut, his wings outstretched, as he prepared to spring toward his next target.
Azkaellon was thrilled to see his lord in fighting form again. The physical wounds Ka’Bandha had inflicted on the Angel were fully healed, but now his soul was beginning to recover as well.  Shrouded in the darkness of the warp storms, Sanguinius had privately wondered to Azkaellon if all his brothers had turned against the Emperor, and if he and his Blood Angels would be entirely alone against the beasts Horus had unleashed. Now that he knew both Guilliman and the Lion remained loyal, it was as if a small part of the massive weight of Horus’s betrayal had been lifted from the Angel’s shoulders. And so, watching his lord soar overhead, Azkaellon’s spirits soared as well.
A drone had managed to sneak in close behind the Angel, extending its energy blade toward his back.  Without even looking, Sanguinius flicked his wing behind him, hitting the drone with such force he smashed the machine into the slope of the ceiling and dislodged several of his feathers.  One floated down toward Azkaellon. He caught it in one armored hand as it fell past him, examining it for any drop of blood that might signify an injury from the impact. He saw none, and now he heard the smash of two more drones hitting the walls.  Almost absently, Azkaellon brushed the finger of his gauntlet along the feather’s edge, imagining its texture.
End program Epsilon,” Sanguinius called out. Azkaellon hastily dropped the feather as the remaining drones powered down and the Primarch swooped down toward the floor.
