So Jaune and Pyrrha, overall how was Hera's birthday today?
Jaune and Pyrrha lovingly looked down at their little baby girl, laying on their bed between them. She’d been woken up when Dusk’s Papa Auron had picked him up and left to go home, the little lazy pup also waking up but then quickly falling back to sleep in his Papa’s arms.
Afterwards, Hera groggily stood up from her dog bed and padded over to her Papa. She didn’t even need to do anything and he happily reached down and picked her up, putting her on his bed. With the gentle pets from both her Mama and Papa, and the super comfy mattress, she quickly fell right back asleep.
Pyrrha leaned down and gently kissed Hera’s soft head. “I think she had a grand time~.”

(Grimm Hunter au) James has built a pistol for Auron named Preacher
Tumblr media
Auron held the revolver in his hand and turned his wrist slowly, looking over everything from the barrel all the way to the grip. He had a small grin on his face as he looked at the simplistic but impressive firearm he was gifted. It was a kind gesture from his future son-in-law, and he very much appreciated another badass looking revolver in his collection.
"Thanks, James. I appreciate this," Auron said to the monster hunter, and he chuckled a bit, "There's just one problem."
James looked confused as he heard that. "What would that be?"
Auron reached down to his hip and pulled his black and lavender colored, double barrel revolver with a shotgun barrel under the two normal ones from its holster, the massive iron dwarfing the revolver that James gave him. "I already got one named Preacher."
James blinked a couple times. "Ohhhhh, right."

James, first off, Merry Christmas. Second, I was curious to know where all you have been back on Earth, and if you had any pictures of those places like maybe Paris, Rome, or any other places like that.
A bright smile formed on his face, as James looked over the framed photographs. He had finally found them in a duffel of his in the trunk of his Mustang. At Shyla’s insistence, they were now up on the mantle with the other family photos.
“Where were they taken?” Shyla questioned, after James placed the last one on the mantle. And noted the excited smile on who was hopefully her future son-in-law. Must have been excited to finally explain just where these pictures were taken.
He pointed to the first one. He was in his full armor, katana outstretched. “I didn’t know about this one until about six months after this was taken. Our armor has a built in camera for further help in training newbies. This was at the Fort Bragg military base. We were dealing with three chimeras.” James shuddered as he remembered the ensuing firefight. “That image is me killing the last one.”
“You wouldn’t happen to have...?” Shyla began, to which James laughed and nodded.
“I’ve got the recording on my phone.” He laughed before pointing to the next one. It showed him, and two others. A young man who looked remarkably like Hayden Christiansen, and a beautiful blonde woman with stunningly green eyes. James was in the background, pointing to himself in a manner of: ‘oops, am I in the shot?’ “That’s my best friend Matt. The woman is his now fiance. We were in Paris, which is where she’s from. Right underneath the Eiffel Tower.”
“And what about this one?” Shyla could barely contain her giggles. The next picture showed James on a beach. He had been buried in sand up to his neck. Someone had then given him a mermaids body sculpted out of sand.
“Ha... hawaii..” James sputtered out. “I fell asleep, and Matt buried my ass in the sand. On the plus side, I had a decent pair of breasts.”
Auron had nearly choked on his beer. Having passed by at that exact moment. He laughed, as he got a look at the photo. “Friend ‘o yours has a good sense of humor.”

"I've been thinkin' about that for a week now it seems like," Auron replied, holding the revolver in his hand and turning it over slowly, "Namin' stuff is always tough, but James thought of another good one for it. Outlaw Star sounds pretty great."

(BL2) Auron, do you still make your own ammunition despite the crapload of it just laying around everywhere and being able to digistruct it?
Auron nodded as he pointed his gun to the side and shot a bandit in the face. "Yeah, I do. Kinda gives my guns a more personal feel for me. Plus it helps when I can't find enough sometimes after a big fight an' I don't wanna buy it."

M.I.A. Part Two
"My name... is Cameron Roberts. I am a Ghost operative under the orders of Commander Riley Black," Viper, or rather Cameron, said to Auron and Shyla as she sat on one of the two couches in the Karmine family living room. Cameron had taken her gear off and was left in her pants and a sports bra, which revealed her toned and fit body along with a few viking tattoos she had on her forearms, her right hand, and her back, "In... my own world, I was on an operation to take down a private military company called Sentinel that took a company called Skell Tech hostage and forced them to create weapons and drones. After the threat of the T-800 Terminators on Auroa was neutralized with the help of another Ghost and a person from the future that warned us of them, I was ordered to investigate and destroy the portal technology that Skell was being forced to experiment on. I activated the self destruct sequence, and the portal turned on and sucked me into it. The next thing I knew... I was in the forest where you found me."
"That ain't the weirdest thing I've heard for someone from earth showin' up here. You ain't a monster hunter like the others were on their earth." Auron remarked, leaning back in the cushions of the couch.
Cameron blinked a few times. "If this is all real, then... What exactly is this world?"
Auron and Shyla both spent the next hour or so explaining to Cameron about the new world she had found herself in. They explained all the kingdoms and continents to her, along with the faunus race. And Auron had of course told her of the creatures of Grimm and told her about each type of Grimm that had been discovered, including the Beowulves that he saved her from. He also told her that they were at his home in Anima, south of the Kingdom of Mistral.
Safe to say, it was a lot to take in for Cameron and it left her just sitting in silence for several moments. Her arm had been bandaged up on the way to the house. She just didn't know what to say, let alone think. She was just suddenly thrust into a world so foreign and so much more deadly than her own. Even past the constant worry of terrorism or even war of her home, this world called Remnant and it's inhabitants were dealing with far worse with the constant battles against those monsters all over the world in a huge struggle for survival, and the Grimm were unrelenting.
Cameron began to hold her head in her hands, her elbows on her knees. "I know it's a lot to take in, but it's real," Auron said softly to her, "We'll offer our home to ya to stay in until you feel like you're ready to live in this world."
"I... a-appreciate it," Cameron replied shakily, "Where's your bathroom?"
Shyla stood up from the couch, leaving Dusk to lay next to Auron, and put her hand on Cameron's shoulder. "I'll lead you to it. I wouldn't mind taking a look at your guns if you're okay with that."
"Umm... sure." Came Cameron's quiet reply.
Shyla led Cameron through her home and eventually led her to the bathroom, where Cameron quietly closed the door after thanking Shyla. She turned the light on and went to the sink, then she turned the cold water on. She cupped her hands under the stream of water and closed her eyes, and she splashed it in her face, hoping the cold would wake her up from this dream. She opened her eyes after she did that and saw that she was still in the Karmine home. She let out a sigh before she grabbed a rag and soaked it in water, and then she started to wipe her face paint off, along with the dirt and grime that had accumulated on her face and arms. When she finished with that, she dried off with a towel and she looked at herself in the mirror.
This was real.
Cameron could feel her eyes begin to sting with tears as it completely set in for her. She would possibly never be able to return home, and never see her family or friends ever again. Her tears began to stream down her cheeks as she walked out of the bathroom and through the house, and she walked outside past Auron and Shyla. She sat on the top step and rested her arms on her knees, and she buried her face in them and she just began to sob and cry uncontrollably.
She was a trained soldier that was trained to accept the fact that on any given day, she wouldn't be able to make it home. But that was only for if she was killed in battle. Now she was so far from home and she had no way of ever returning. It was hitting her hard to say the least. Auron and Shyla could hear her cries from where they sat, but they both figured that it was best to let her be alone for right now and let out everything that she could. Her cries lasted for several long, heartbreaking minutes before they eventually softened and Cameron calmed herself down as best she could.
She raised her head up and just leaned against the post next to her. She had no more tears left to shed right now. Her eyes still stung, but Cameron didn't care. She pulled her Desert Eagle from its holster on her hip and held it in both her hands for several moments, and she held the top of the slide against her had with the barrel nowhere near pointed at herself. She closed her eyes and started muttering to herself.
"Odin... I've failed my oath to protect my home. I don't know if I can ever return so if you're listening, give my family the strength to make it through whatever news they get about me. But I'll make a new oath right here. I might not be able to protect the people of my home, but I will still give my life to protect the innocent here in this new world and honor you and my ancestors. I may never see my family again... but I won't let that break my spirit. I will keep fighting and I will do my best to protect the innocent of this world."
Cameron holstered her pistol and looked out over the treetops, and she heard the door open behind her. A second or so later, she felt a hand on her shoulder. "We'll get you some new clothes an' you can take a good shower," Auron said to her, "We'll get your aura unlocked sometime in the next couple o' days, an' maybe get you somethin' other than a knife. If you run outta ammo, you're gonna need somethin' bigger to protect yourself. Plus we gotta keep an eye out for what your semblance may be."
Cameron turned and looked at him. "My fucking what?"
"Basically a super power," Auron explained to her, "Mine lets me make metal from dirt."
Cameron let out a short breath and shook her head. "Odin give me strength..."
"You'll have to tell me who that is. But for now, come on. We gotta get you some clothes an' some food."
"Hmmm..." Cameron frowned a bit as she held a sword in her hand. After a week of letting the former Ghost operative grow used to being in the world of Remnant, Auron and Shyla took her out into Mistral so she can find out what type of melee weapon she could go with in case she needed it. She had her combat knife of course, but if those Grimm could be bigger than the Beowulves she had encountered, she could definitely use something a bit bigger for if and when she runs out of ammo in the field with whatever work she takes.
"This one doesn't feel that nice in my hand." Cameron finally said and put the sword back on the wall where she got it from.
"Well, we're seeing what you might want for yourself," Shyla told her, "We aren't going to make you pick one of these to use since they aren't made special for one person."
"You've been through a lot the last week an' wakin' up your aura seemed to take a lot out of ya, so I'll be makin' whatever you think you'd want after you figure it out and give me the details." Auron said as he leaned against the wall nearby.
Cameron lowered her hands to her sides and looked back up to the wall where all the weapons were. If she was going to have a melee weapon, she would definitely like a good sword. And if she was going to have a sword, she wanted one that would be something her ancestors would wield into battle. She never thought she would train to fight with a sword but this new world she found herself in was going to test her strength in more ways than one. She began to clench her fists and continued to look over the weapons with a bit more determination, and then she felt her right hand begin to clench around something. When she looked down, her eyes widened as she was now suddenly clutching the ghostly hilt of a sword. The hilt and crossguard looked very familiar to her.
"I-is this..." She watched the blade begin to form and take an ethereal glow. The sword grew to the size of a bastard sword with just enough room on the hilt for both her hands to hold if needed, "Hǫfuð?"
///A ghostly, ethereal version of this sword///
Tumblr media
"Ummm... what?" Shyla asked her curiously.
"Where I'm from, the movies that featured this sword called it Hofund, so you can go with that," Cameron replied and held the sword in the air, "Where did this come from? Was it a gift from Odin?"
Auron began to grin. "Seems to me like you already figured out your semblance. Guess you had some pretty strong feelin's about home. What's that sword supposed to be?"
Cameron gulped a bit and let out a slow breath. "Hǫfuð, or Hofund, is the sword used by Heimdallr to guard the Rainbow Bridge of Asgard in Norse mythology, and my heritage traces far back to the vikings that believed in the Norse gods. It took the form of the sword used in some super hero movies back home, and all my tattoos are tributes to my heritage."
She released her grip on the hilt and the sword began to vanish. "And... you said that's my semblance?"
Auron nodded. "Right. No other way to explain it, unless you wanna go with it bein' a gift from your God. Could be both, who knows."
"Well, now we know that you won't have to make her a sword," Shyla said playfully, "Now that that's settled, I think we should go get something to eat. Then we can go back home and talk about the ammo Cameron here uses for her guns."
Cameron felt herself filled with new waves of determination and she nodded. "That sounds good to me. Thank you both for everything over the last week. And please, just call me Cammie from now on."

M.I.A. Part One
The sounds of gunfire filled the night as a lone woman fought against a squad of Sentinel operatives that guarded a special facility. The facility in question experimented with portal technology, which would make transporting supplies all across the Auroa Archipelago simple and quick for Sentinel. The company had taken Skell Tech hostage, which was the company that they were forcing to make their drones, weapons, and now these portals. And numerous private operatives were hired to stop it.
One such operative was a lavender-eyed woman codenamed "Viper", and she was currently fighting her way into the main facility where the portal experimentation was taking place. She was a very fit woman that stood at five feet and eight inches tall. Her hair was semi-bright red, drawn up in a tight ponytail with a bit of her bangs hanging down over the right side of her face and eye. She wore a black half face mask covering her mouth and nose, with some black face paint over her eyes and forehead but not completely covering her skin. She wore gear that was all black, with a black magazine harness that held a few spare dual-magazines for the gun she was using which was a mainly matte black, classic MP5A4 chambered in 9mm. The gun was complete with a red dot sight, a flashlight integrated in the front of the handguard under the barrel, and a folding stock that could fold to the left side of the gun. The barrel, flashlight, magazines and sight were all a dark purple color. On the right side of her harness were three spare magazines for her DMR on her back. Under the harness she wore a simple black combat jacket, and along with that she wore black military cargo pants with armored thighs and knees that led into black combat boots. Over her hands she wore a pair of armored gloves, with black metal over the tops of them and along the knuckles.
Lastly on her back, she wore a black military backpack with clips on both sides of it for her two longer-range guns. One was a designated marksman rifle for medium to long range firing, which was an MK14 EBR that was fully matte black with a dual-range sight, and a foldable grip on the bottom rail. It was custom chambered in .458 Socom rounds to deliver a massive punch when needed. On the opposite side was her sniper rifle, a Barrett MRAD bolt-action sniper rifle chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum. On the bottom rail of her sniper rifle was a bipod, and on the right rail was a range finder that was linked to her rifle's large scope which told her the exact range of her targets in her crosshairs The stocks of both her rifles were folded against the bases of them to make them a bit more compact for carrying. Lastly on her right hip was the holster that held her custom .50 AE Desert Eagle, which had a black frame and slide with black grips and silver barrel. Being trained as she was, she can carry all of these weapons easily with little restrictions, but her ammunition stores for each weapon on her person was limited.
Viper brought down two of her target in the facility before she ran inside, taking a few grazes from bullets fired after her along her arms and her sides. She ran into a door that led to lower levels and closed it behind her, locking it with a hacking device she held up to the digital lock of the door. She quickly began to walk down the stairs and descended deeper into the facility, and she eventually found her target.
She quickly attached her silencer back onto her MP5, and she began to go to work in the shadows of the large room. Thanks to her taking out the alarm system before her move on the facility, no one was alerted to her presence this deep underground. Viper worked through the room she was in and put down all the guards she saw, each being taken down with a bullet right to their heads. One by one their bodies slumped to the metal floor, and Viper was soon left as the only one in the room with the experimental technology.
"I'm in," She spoke quietly into her earpiece to her commanding officer, "Time to take this thing out."
"Good work, Viper. Report back to me once you're clear." Came her commander's reply, and she took her finger from her earpiece.
Viper then plugged her hacking device up to the console in the middle of the room, and she began to upload the program that she was given that would make the experimental portal self destruct, along with the entire facility. But, things had not gone exactly to plan. When Viper began to run that program, the portal activated and lit up the room in a bright light. Viper shielded her eyes from it with one hand, and she went to contact her commander once more.
"Commander, something with the program activated the portal!" She was met with static, which turned into a high-pitched sound that began to turn painful before she pulled the earpiece out.
"Attention Personnel. Facility will self destruct in one minute. Please vacate the premises."
The automated voice came through the speakers of the facility, and then the portal's light began to pulsate and the entire thing started to shake wildly. The entire facility began to shake with tremors as well, and many of the shelves and walkways hanging above the edges of the room began to fall down to the ground. Viper began to feel herself being pulled toward the portal soon after, and she began to try to run and escape the area. But, the pull only got stronger and stronger and she found herself unable to resist being sucked toward the portal. Soon, she was pulled off her feet, and with a final scream she disappeared into the portal, just before the self destruct sequence completed and the facility, and the portal, were destroyed.
Officially, Viper had been declared M.I.A. by her commanding officer. Eventually after that, after search parties had been sent out for days, weeks, and months and even up to five years later after Sentinel's downfall, she had been declared K.I.A..
But she wasn't killed.
Almost as soon as Viper had been pulled into the portal, she had ended up in a forest she didn't recognize. She fell to her knees, feeling her stomach lurching within her, and she pulled her mask down just before she began to vomit profusely after she had been pulled through God-knows-what, all the way to what she assumed was some remote part of Auroa. She soon stopped vomiting, and she folded her MP5's stock to put on her left hip, and she took her backpack and rifles off her body so she could lean her back against a tree, breathing deeply as she stared up into the... bright blue sky.
It was nighttime when she last checked. She checked her watch and saw that it said it should have been just past midnight, and she began to grow extremely confused. She put her earpiece back into the ear and pressed her finger against the button. "Commander Black, respond. This is Viper. The portal sucked me into it, and it transported me to some... unknown location during the daytime."
After several moments of radio silence, Viper tried again. "Commander Black, respond. I'm stranded in a forest and I have no idea where I am. I-"
Viper began to hear a growl behind the tree she was leaned up against, and she stopped talking immediately. She slowly glanced around the tree to where the growl came from, and her eyes went wide as she saw some... black-furred werewolf covered in bone plating, and it had glowing red eyes. She jumped to her feet and rolled away from the tree just before it struck, and she pulled her MP5 from her waist and opened fire on the creature's head. In a few shots, the strange beast went down and began to evaporate into the air, and that just confused her even more.
Before she knew it, she noticed more of the creatures surrounding her from all sides. She had no idea what they were at all, but she did her best to fight them off as they came. The 9mm rounds tore into the hide of the beasts but with their attacks, reloading was hard even with dual mags like she had. She ducked out of the way of a strike from one and fired into its face with the last rounds of one magazine before she was struck in the side, knocking her MP5 out of her hands and sending her to the ground with a gash in her arm.
She rolled to her back and quickly pulled out her Desert Eagle, and she blasted one of the beasts in the head. One powerful shot put it down, and then another came at her and she shot and killed it as well. As its evaporating body came down on her, she began to hear gunfire from another source, and she could tell it was a very big gun that was being used. When the beast evaporated fully, she could see each of the others that surrounded her were going down with their heads being blown to bits or their chests were blown out. She glanced around to see who had come to her rescue, and her eyes widened even further when she saw a huge man dressed like someone from a western movie.
She aimed her pistol at him at him trying to determine whether he was friend or foe, and he just looked at her in shock. She soon lowered her gun and nodded to him, and then she saw another of the beasts appear from the bushes behind the man. Before she could give him a warning, the man's weapon transformed into a claymore right before her eyes and with one hard swing and a pull of the trigger, the recoil of the gunshot send the blade straight through the beast's body.
He then put the blade on his back and turned back toward her. "Hey there. You don't look like you're from around here." His deep voice came to her a moment later.
"Where am I? Who are you?" Viper replied, her hands still gripping her pistol.
"Well first off, I should be askin' you that since you brought some Grimm near my property," The man replied to her, crossing his arms over his chest, "My name's Auron. Auron Karmine. What about you?"
"My... codename is Viper. Thank you for helping me."
Auron stepped forward and reached his hand down to her. "I get the feelin' you got a story to tell about why you're here on Remnant. You seem like you're like my daughter's fiance."
"...Rem...nant?" Viper replied in confusion before slowly taking his hand.
Auron chuckled a bit and pulled her to her feet. "That tells me all I need to know. Get your gear, an' I'll take you to my home an' you can explain everything."
"Oh god, this has to be a weird dream..." Viper remarked and went to gather her backpack and her Vector, "What you're suggesting is fucking crazy."
"I wish I could tell ya it was an' you could wake up in your own world, but..." Auron shook his head, "It's as real as that cut on your arm. I know a few more people that came from another universe or world or whatever, an' one of 'em is set to marry my oldest daughter. You got a lot to learn about Remnant here, an' the Grimm. We need to see if we can get your aura unlocked."
"My fucking what?"
Auron took in a deep breath and let it out evenly. "This is gonna be a long day."

Auron playing fetch with Smoke and his stick grenade toy.
While Shyla had taken Holly back to Karmine Arms HQ to show her around and tell her about all the plans that she had for the fledgling company, Auron decided to take Smoke out into the yard and spend some time with him. And he decided to do that by taking that repurposed grenade and just tossing it as far as he could for smoke to chase after. After telling Smoke to relax, the wolf bolted after the toy and soon grabbed it in his teeth, then he ran it back to Auron, his tail wagging happily.
Auron took the toy once more and tossed it again, and Smoke ran after I and before it hit the ground, Smoke jumped into the air and caught it easily. His paws hit the ground and he turned back around and took it back to Auron, and then Auron threw it once more, this time over the gun range. Smoke took off again, running past multiple targets before he leapt up onto one of them and then he jumped off of that! He jumped so high into the air and snatched the grenade, and then what seemed like seconds later he hit the ground and skidded around on his paws, and he ran back to Auron.
"Damn, Smoke! That was badass!" Auron exclaimed and knelt down to pet Smoke between his ears, and Smoke dropped the grenade in his hand, "Holly's been teachin' you some new tricks, huh?"
Smoke gave an affirmative bark and Auron laughed. "Good boy. Now..." He stood up and reared his arm back, and he threw the toy again, "Go get it!"

So who among all the OC's is hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year?
"I think our house is the best one for it," Auron answered as he, April, Holly, Jace, and Rosa were all working on preparing a few turkeys to be cooked, with one already in the oven, "We got a lot o' friends an' family, an' we have all the room we need on our property here. Plus, I like hostin' it an' cookin' for everyone. This Thanksgivin' feels like a lot more work."
"I don't think I can keep up with you guys," Jace said, shaking his head a bit, "I'm not used to helping with cooking like this."
Auron laughed. "You're doin' fine, Jace. All the help is appreciated from everyone."

(Streamer au) If not Shyla, then I feel it would be Auron who runs Remnants version of Demolition Ranch.
"Actually, that would be both of us," Shyla replied with a grin, holding up her .300 Whiteout pistol, "I can do that pretty easily past being the head of my own company since I can set my own hours, plus I have Holly taking my place on days I'm not working and when she's not on cargo deliveries."
Auron looked up from cleaning his large lever action rifle and grinned as well. "We shoot guns an' have fun, but we got safety videos an' videos on how to clean 'em too. Plus I like makin' videos about my trucks an' what goes on around the house too."
