I was participating in Magical Readathon this month, which definitely galvanized my reading at the beginning of the month! Less so towards the end once I had completed what I wanted to complete, but I still read 22 books in August, making it my best reading month of the year! I also read so many 5-star books this month: Reel, The Invisible Kingdom, The Fifth Elephant, Drunk on All Your Strange New Words, and The Perfect Crimes of Marian Hayes.

Yashahime: The Second Act EP#27 (03) - The Silver-Scale Curse: Jaken recalls fourteen years ago on how Rin met Zero, who had fatally cursed her with the binding spell coupled with a red thread of fate. Since Zero had Rin as leverage over Sessh?maru, she demanded to know about her daughters. Rin learns that she will die, if the silver-scale curse spreads through her body. Out of options, Jaken had Rin being placed inside the Sacred Tree of Ages, whose infinite time-based powers would assist in reducing a rapid spread of Zero's curse by forever keeping Rin within her current state of suspended animation. The spirit instructed Jaken to put a portion of the sacred Dream Butterfly on Setsuna, in which Towa's dream and sleep would be transferred to Rin, preserve her life and temporarily stop the curse. In the feudal era's current timeline, the Half-Demon Princesses meet Bokusen? and retrieve a mystical Ky?y?kon Root. He informs them that the root of power originated from Mount Musubi, but neglects to mention the magical barrier protecting it. The girls reach the outside, and said about the mountain and wonder what is awaiting them. A transparent young red-haired girl sleeps deeply on a pale green glowing scale inside the mountain.
Primal Season 2 EP#05 (15) - The Primal Theory: In England, 1890, a biologist named Charles unsuccessfully tries to defend his theory on evolution to his fellow scientists Lord Darlington, Blakely, Bertie, and Giroud. Charles surmises that, in the right situation, any person would regress back to their primitive roots in order to survive. The evening is cut short when an escaped inmate from a nearby asylum breaks into the house, kills the butler, and proceeds to prey on every person inside. As the night progresses, the survivors take on weapons in Darlington's collection, such as guns, swords, and arrows. One by one, the guests are either killed or knocked out by the brutish madman, leaving only Charles and Darlington left. They pursue the inmate to the greenhouse, but he overpowers them and begins to cannibalize Charles. Darlington, out of his wits, attacks the inmate with a massive bone, arms himself with a spear, and emits a primal scream before frantically killing the inmate. Coming back to his senses, he looks at a wounded Charles, who feels vindicated to have his theory proven right.
Lupin the 3rd Part 6 EP#16 - Samurai Collection: Gabby, a celebrity fashion designer whose collections are sold through auctions instead of the open market, returns to the spotlight after a five-year hiatus to present a new fashion line. She hires Goemon as a model after she rescues him during one of his training runs in the Arctic. While a complete amateur in the fashion business, Goemon finds new ways of improving his abilities through his modelling exercises, and Gabby becomes inspired through his eccentricities. Meanwhile, Lupin plans to nab Gabby's latest designs in return for the promise of a romantic night with Fujiko. At the night of the fashion show, Lupin sneaks on stage, leading to a scuffle with Goemon to prevent him from ruining the show. Lupin uses a large drone to suck the designs off the racks and the models' bodies, but Goemon destroys it, leaving him to be chased off by Zenigata. Despite its chaotic conclusion, and all the clothes sliced into pieces, the show is a great success, inspiring Gabby and her backer, Largerfeld, to plan a repeat performance.

Sugar Rush : November CPNs
What started out as a relatively quiet month after a chaotic October, turned into something else because of a few candies. Especially the whole 11/19 fiasco that surprised us all. LOL. As usual, this is for cpn-loving turtles only. Keep an open mind but still clown responsibly. I can’t believe we only have one month left for this year!

Let’s review the past month…
• Some side by side / parallel photos of GG ( Tod’s Milan ) and WYB ( Chanel Shenzhen ). They are both photographed with the very beautiful Liu ShiShi. Also the way they are the center of attention. KINGS! 👑
• hoping they play tennis together 🎾 ; there is also a cpn out there about yibo being fully prepared for the game cause he had lacoste shoes and bag then a jacket that he used in wuzhen. people are speculating that XZ bought stuff for him to use cause he is the one who knows more and thought of this brand. this may seem like a stretch but you never know with this fandom when a seemingly insignificant observation becomes a big candy along the way.

11/7, GG was announced as Boucheron’s global brand ambassador, then people remembered that one time WYB wore stuff from the brand. So now we have an unintentional couple jewelry incidence😂😂

• some similarities in forwarding 119 message, yeah i know celebrities like them are sort of required to bring attention to stuff like this. however, WYB is known to support this cause and even made a VCR specifically for it. if you look at the actual post, theirs is the top 2 in terms of likes and the rest of the celebrities are not the usual ones similar to the boys’ caliber. Another clue that this is WYB’s advocacy of sorts, most, if not all top comments are from his fans. so ZZ joining in on spreading the message seems ( to me and some cpfs ) like influenced by WYB.
Next is they both filmed VCRs for "People in My Heart" - "Classic Characters" series. We just love seeing them support the same projects ^^

• Talking about this a bit late considering when the whole CPN started about this GG mural for GG. There are side by side comparisons of the eyes on the mural and Yibo’s. The CPN being they used WYB’s eyes for that mural.
I usually let people have free reign on clowning but this one isn’t for me personally. just because it’s obviously a mural commissioned by GUCCI which a big brand that couldn’t care less about the CP. Maybe it’s a coincidence how similar it is? Because there is a reference photo that should be followed. Also, this is GG’s time to shine. This mural is his & him. I think this is an example for cpfs to learn to separate the boys as individuals, especially for things that are work related and most especially their achievements. While I do believe they influence each other greatly, it’s important to not make every single thing a romantic relation.

I'm kinda new to Milex, despite loving both AM and TLSP for years, and like so many questions.......What happened to those sweethearts, what are the divorce allegations, why they don't hang out anymore, is there any tension between Miles and Alex's girlfriend?😭 I need to know
hiii and welcome to the milex fandom!!
first of all, you can check out this post to know more about the divorce allegations - but of course always remember it's just theories, no one really knows what happened (if anything happened at all)
second of all, they do still hang out! they're just very private about it and rarely ever get spotted together, but over the years after the tbhc and cdg eras we got to see them together a few times, usually hanging out in london like here (august 2020):

but also in jnstances like this one (september 2021) (it's not confirmed that they were together but miles posted this with the caption 'ARRABIATA HEAD X' and arrabiata is Their Thing + those are alex's sunglasses and the photo was most likely taken by him idc i will die on this hill)
then we got to see them together in june 2022, hanging out at some pub:
and also at zackery michael and lola mcdonnell's wedding aka the wedding of the century aka i wish i was a fly on the wall there. this was also in june 2022, they were both there but sadly we didn't get any interaction nor photos of them together:
we did however get a few interactions between miles, (nadya) and louise.
in may 2023 they were spotted having a cute little date night at a scott walker tribute concert in london (feat. the one and only brown leather jacket):
and then of course we got to see them playing 505 together in june (💖) after five whole years of not sharing a stage:
and then again in dublin, miles opened for them on all four nights of the irish leg in october and joined them for 505 on the very last one:
during both the cts and omb eras miles has mentioned alex and tlsp quite a few times (both spontaneously or because of annoying interviewers asking him about it).
speaking of miles and louise, they ignored each other for a long time since alex started dating her back in 2018, which was quite weird considering miles usually seemed to have great friendships with alex's girlfriends (he was very close to taylor, and he's still friends with alexa). recently they started interacting more, liking each other's posts or leaving comments there (see miles commenting on her latest birthday post for alex). as i mentioned, they interacted a bit during zack and lola's wedding (katie posted a video on ig where her, kirstin, louise, miles and nadya were all hanging out together). i think at this point it's safe to say miles and nadya aren't together anymore, but her and louise were hanging out quite a lot during 2022/start of 2023 and they probably got introduced through their respective boyfriends. there's no official drama between miles and louise but they don't seem to be friends, just close acquaintances at best.
and... i think that's it anon! in conclusion they're still very much close and hanging out with each other, it's just much rarer to get a glimpse of them but maybe in the (hopefully not so distant) future we'll get a tlsp3 announcement and then they'll finally be touring together again, planet earth will heal and we'll be well-fed once again. in the meantime, i hope this little recap was helpful <3

I consider you the timeline expert so uhh thoughts on this?
tiktok video recap: OP was trying to deduce who between Dazai and Chuuya was older. OP said Atsushi was freshly turned 18 when he was kicked out of the orphanage, at the start of May, and since the are only a few weeks (only 2 though, not 4) between that and him meeting Dazai, it would mean Dazai's birthday at the end June hadn't passed yet, making it so Dazai was actually 23 now and a year older than Chuuya, whose birthday already passed in April. This is a take I've seen before.
I would say a solid attempt. I do like the idea of Atsushi being kicked out because he finally turned 18 and they finally could do it, but the truth is Japan's age of majority was 20 until 2022, not 18. It would make no sense for the orphanage to kick out a minor in normal conditions.
I'm also still saying there's a solid chance Asagiri doesn't really care about being accurate to the exact month, more just to the general year, but we have enough to take a guess and force things to work.
so.
I think there was too much emphasis put on the fact that skk are the same age for it to be true, and we don't actually have any proof Atsushi was kicked on his birthday, even if it is a legitimate guess to try and make.

1) The light novel being titled "Dazai, Chuuya, Age Fifteen" when they are the same age for barely 2 months sounds a bit ridiculous, but also have these quotes to show in-story what they say:
2) Asagiri said he probably should have titled Storm Bringer "Dazai, Chuuya, Age Sixteen" for continuity, but didn't want to:
3) The SB -> Dragon's Head Conflict timeline I made was based on Chuuya's birthday, placing its start at around January-February, right before his 17th birthday. We know there were 2 years between the DHC and Dark Era as per Oda's words, and real life Oda Sakunosuke and André Gide died in January and February respectively, solidifying that attempted timeline. We know Dazai is 18 during Dark Era (+2 years underground to enter the ADA at 20). If Dazai was a year older than Chuuya, that timeline wouldn't be able to hold, as Dazai would actually be 19 and a half by that point. (refer to this graphic for a breakdown by month, adding a year to Dazai's count for this theory to "work": )
4) On that same note, SB takes place one year after Chuuya joined; the Flags were celebrating his one year in the mafia. Because of the July + 3 months mention, so after Dazai's birthday, we know for sure it couldn't have happened in the supposed two months they would be the same age.
I also want to add that Atsushi never mentions being kicked out because he turned 18. The reason he gives Kunikida and Dazai is that the orphanage had to reduce the number of people in their care for monetary reasons after the Tiger attacked. Atsushi was always the scapegoat, so it wouldn't have surprised him to be the one kicked out, even if it was still frightening. Also again, an 18-year-old was a minor in Japan until very recently.
One very clear clue we have however, is 55 Minutes, which happens in the hottest part of summer. Asagiri said it happened sometime after vol10, so after the Guild arc. I would need to do a full reread to see how much time could have passed between the start of the series and the end of the Guild arc, but since all of it was happening around Atsushi and the Tiger (everyone was after the poor boy), we can probably fit it in a month or so (and make the ADA be so so tired afterwards)
As of now, I would place the start of the series more around July, after Dazai's birthday but before August so we have some leeway for 55 Minutes, but this will need a deeper dive to solidify the theory, and this post is getting too long.

A brief history of CM Punk-AEW drama
Saw someone ask for a full recap of the Punk/AEW drama. So I spent an hour writing a decent summary, and by the time I finished they deleted the post I was trying to reblog. That's okay, I get it. But since I put in the work I'm just gonna make my own post, in case anyone else has questions.
I have tried to keep this as unbiased as possible, with a summary of the discourse at the end. If anybody needs more clarification on anything you can send me an ask.
CM Punk signed with AEW in 2021. Right away a big issue that came up was his ex-friend Colt Cabana. (Long story.) By early 2022, rumors began to swirl among the wrestlers that Punk was using his star power to get Cabana pushed out of the company. Cabana's friends in the company assumed the rumors were true and resented Punk. This came to a head in May 2022, when Adam Page referenced the rumors on live TV, in a segment with Punk. By this point Punk's relationship with Page and the Young Bucks was damaged beyond repair.
On September 4, 2022, during the post-show scrum for All Out, Punk aired his grievances with the Young Bucks (always referring to them as "the EVPs") and Adam Page. Punk clearly believed the Bucks manufactured the "Punk is trying to force Cabana out" story and leaked it to wrestling news sites to turn the locker room against Punk. Punk closed by saying that if anybody had a problem with him, he had an "open door" policy, and he'd be in his dressing room. The Bucks and fellow EVP Kenny Omega went to see him. A fight broke out. Everyone involved--even people who just tried to break it up--was suspended for a while (except Punk, who was going to be sidelined for months for a torn triceps either way).
We don't have much solid information about the September 2022 fight. Most reports I read suggest Punk and his friend Ace Steel made it physical, with Punk punching one of the Bucks (maybe both, I can't remember) and Steel throwing a chair and biting Omega. One account said the Bucks kicked the door open, unwittingly hitting Punk's dog in the face and knocking several teeth loose, which would have provoked Punk's side. It's also been suggested that since Steel's wife was in the room and in no condition to flee a potential three-on-two ambush, this could have made Steel and Punk feel they had to come out swinging. There is no footage of the fight, but there were neutral parties who witnessed it (notably including AEW's chief legal officer, Megha Parekh). Everyone involved signed NDAs and can't/won't talk about it on the record.
For the next nine months, it wasn't clear if Punk wanted to come back to AEW, or if AEW wanted to bring him back. Lots of people suggested that Punk and the three EVPs could talk it out and then make a lot of money turning it into a fake wrestling feud. But Omega and the Bucks showed no interest in talking to Punk or working with him. Ultimately Punk returned in June 2023 on a new show, Collision. The idea was that the EVPs (and anyone else who couldn't co-exist with Punk) would stay on Dynamite, and Punk would have carte blanche on Collision.
Within a couple of months, reports emerged about backstage issues involving Punk. The main one that blew up involved Jack Perry, who was always tight with the Bucks, and was typically on Dynamite, and not on Collision. Perry had vacation time scheduled and wanted to shoot an angle to explain his absence, in which HOOK would throw him into a car windshield. For some reason it didn't get done on a Dynamite taping, so arrangements were made to shoot it at a Collision taping. Everybody who thought the windshield spot with real glass was a bad idea asked Punk to talk Perry out of it. It's not clear whether Tony Khan approved the spot for Dynamite, or rescheduling it for Collision, or allowing Punk to have the last word. Ultimately the windshield spot was canceled.
On August 31, 2023, Perry wrestled Hook at All In, and they finally did the windshield spot that Punk previously nixed. Perry went out of his way to reference the earlier story, saying "You know what this is? Real glass! Go cry me a river," as if daring Punk to do something about it. After the match, Perry went behind the curtain just as Punk and Samoa Joe were getting ready for their match. By all accounts, Punk complained to Perry, Perry was like "what are you going to do about it?" and Punk decided that justified starting a fight. It was broken up very quickly, and then Punk got all hostile with Tony Khan, saying "this place is a joke and you're a clown." Punk was asked to leave, and within a week he had been terminated with cause.
The "CM Punk did nothing wrong" position, generally speaking, is that AEW is severely mismanaged, with Tony Khan allowing the Young Bucks and their friends to do a lot of dumb bullshit, leaving Punk no choice but to take matters into his own hands. Punk's enemies within AEW conspired to turn the locker room against him, and used wrestling news outlets to spread anti-Punk stories to turn the fandom against him. In any case, Punk is the biggest star AEW has ever signed (if not the biggest star AEW will ever sign), and it was bad for business to let him get so discouraged.
The "Punk screwed Punk" position, generally speaking, is that his grievances with AEW management stopped mattering whenever he resorted to physical force. His Bruiser Brody approach to throwing his weight around is backward and outdated in the 2020s (and didn't even end well for Brody in the 1980s). His assumption that the Bucks planted anti-Punk stories in the media is unfounded, and rather paranoid. He resents the EVPs for lawyering up instead of burying the hatchet, even though he feels totally justified taking the same approach with Colt Cabana. Basically, Punk thinks he can do what he likes, and anyone else who does the same against Punk's wishes is a snake, a clown, or soft.
Splitting the difference between these takes: Everybody should have talked this out by early 2022, before it got out of hand. Tony Khan should have gotten out in front of the the "Punk is trying to get rid of Cabana" rumors before they got online. Punk and Cabana should have come to terms on how they would co-exist as soon as Punk joined the company. Adam Page should not have bottled up his grievances until he was on live TV, and Punk should not have bottled up his resentment about that until a media scrum. Once it got past that point, and the first fight happened, Khan needed to take charge and settle it, immediately. He needed to choose, in September 2022, between keeping Punk aboard at all costs, or showing Punk who's boss at all costs. Instead, he tried to have it both ways for a year, until Punk made that impossible.

Yaaaaah. It’s Recap Time. 2023 edition.
Buckle up, bitches.
I’m positive I am about to write far too long and reveal far too much in this post, but fuck it we ball. (TWs for depression, brief suicidal ideation, general mental health talk, parental death, a lot of juicy stuff, but a happy ending)
To appreciate 2023, I have to go back to 2022.
2022 was probably the worst year of my life. The lowest of lows. I started off the year falling headfirst into my first relationship in years, and subsequently had my heart shattered in a way I’d never anticipated. I had my trust betrayed in a manner I’d never experienced. And that heartbreak would crop up and drag out consistently the entire year.
While dealing with that crippling heartbreak, my father very unexpectedly got sick and then passed away within a few months. And as anyone could probably assess from my fics, I did not have a great relationship with my father. We had a very complicated relationship with a lot of trauma inflicted on me. It all was very disorienting, guilt-ridden, but ultimately revelatory.
On top of my romantic and familial lives crashing down around me, I lost every coworker I had developed a good relationship with as the job I’d been at for 3+ years and had them all replaced with people I couldn’t fucking stand.
All of this led to me having a complete fucking breakdown in therapy. All out sobbing to my therapist, terrified that after two years of therapy, nothing was working. Nothing helped. I was incurable. I would be depressed until I died, and that might be coming sooner rather than later at my current rate. Burnt out from work, hating my coworkers, drowning in my own emotions, I had to have a serious talk about getting admitted. The closest I’ve ever come to that, to this day.
The year came to a close, my meds were on the fritz, and I was determined to sink no lower than I already was. I was going to love myself, love being single, and find friends for the first time since college. And it just so happens that a certain show was released, based on one of my favorite stories of all time. Starring one Pedro Pascal.
And I have no fucking idea what happened, but I started crawling out of the pit of despair I had been in for a literal decade. I hadn’t had a hyperfixation in equally as long. I was so run down, so depressed, I hadn’t been able to truly enjoy anything in years. And suddenly…I was feeling shit again. Watching hours of Pedro tiktoks, crying over TLOU EVERY GODDAMN WEEK. That broad, baby cow-eyed, Chilean fucker wriggled his way into my heart. To the point where I HAD to find somewhere to express it in a manner as unhinged as I was experiencing it (I’m so sorry Pedro subreddit, you were just not cutting it for me).
I went back to my tumblr roots. And Jesus Christ. What a fucking roller coaster it’s been. So much drama, so many friends. So. Many. Fics. And so much genuine joy, happiness, laughter, all that fucking obnoxious shit.
So here we are.
First person I’m gonna shout out is Paige @pr0ximamidnight. Paige, thank you for being my first friend in the Pedro fandom. Thank you for giving me a space to talk about my feral fantasies, about Taylor, about monsters 👀. Thank you for being a real one. I love you, babe.
Second…hoo boy. Emma. @walkintotheriveranddisappear. I’m gonna struggle to put shit into words here so just bear with me. Um. I love you so fucking much. You put up with my obnoxious, rude ass when you probably shouldn’t. You talk with me for hours, you watch movies with me, you drag my ass and then kiss it better. I added you on discord at the end of August and there has not been a single goddamn day that we haven’t talked since. You stayed up until midnight with me on the night of my birthday, knowing I had no one to ring in my 30th year with, and you were so eepy, but you stayed awake with me. We’d only just started to become friends at that point. And I knew you were gonna be something special to me. You are such a fucking light, I don’t deserve you. Toonami Weekly Recap 08/06/2022
Yashahime: The Second Act EP#26 (02) - Demon Spirit of the Sea: While Setsuna goes to retrieve the root, Moroha asks Jy?bei about Bokuseno, by finding a demon with wisdom and mystical abilities. Moroha and Setsuna find it, but are ambushed by the snake-demon spirit disguised as a human nun, who desires Setsuna to appease her actions about not restoring her true form. Towa arrives in time to aid a group of demon-slayers, wearing a pair of mirrored sunglasses to protect everyone from turning into petrified statues. It is that Setsuna realizes she can put an end to all of this suffering. She utilizes her weapon's ability to cut any discovered immaterial beings, in order to restore the destiny of the snake-demon and that of her human love, a fisherman. The Snake-Demon peacefully regains her true form and returns to the sea. While the girls leave the beach, Riku learns that Towa would wield a genuine weapon empowered with immense demonic energy.
Primal Season 2 EP#04 (14) - The Red Mist: Viking warriors and their Arctotheriums emerge from the mist. Mira and her people are forced to bow, angering Spear. He and Fang battle the warriors while Mira and her people flee into the forest. The duo are overwhelmed by the warriors, with Fang being critically wounded by a female warrior, Rikka, while Spear accidentally kills an attacking child, Rikka's son. The pair give into their rage and kill Rikka and the remainder of the warrior clan under the cover of a red mist before they escape with Mira using a stolen boat. Sometime later, another boat arrives carrying the Viking chieftain, Eldar, his eldest son, and a small group of slaves. After discovering the massacre, they become devastated over the loss of their clan and Eldar's wife Rikka and youngest son. They soon bury their clan members, free the slaves, and give their deceased family a ceremonial ship funeral. Seeing revenge, they then set sail to hunt down the ones responsible for the destruction of their village.
Lupin the 3rd Part 6 EP#15 - Wedding Bells Ring with the Sound of Gunfire: Lupin reveals to Jigen their next heist is to steal the "Tear of Marseille", a jewel whose existence was only recently revealed on the internet. It is to be given to Mylene Legrand, a local town doctor and the bride-to-be of Count Fernand Maistre. Jigen asks Lupin to pass on the heist, as sometime ago she had saved his life after finding him shot in an alley. They were immediately attracted to each other, but Jigen eventually left her behind because of his chosen lifestyle. In the lead-up to the wedding, Jigen sees a man that Lupin recognizes as the Jackal who specializes in kidnapping and ransom, and suspects that he is targeting Mylene. Jigen secretly watches over her, eventually locating and killing the Jackal's crew, including the Jakal's brother Jed, but the Jackal escapes. On the day of the wedding, Jigen provides encouragement to Fernand, and kills Jackal when he attempts to kill Mylene in revenge for his brother's death. Mylene later meets up with Lupin and reveals that she leaked the information about the Tear of Marseille, hoping to see Jigen one more time before getting married as she still cares for him. She gives Lupin the Tear as payment which he later gives to Jigen, only to have him throw it into the ocean.
