On a fine summer afternoon the Border sisters were playing astronauts and aliens in their treehouse. Despite the heat they had been out there for hours fueled by their imaginations.“Another alien is aboard the ship! Initiate intruder protocols!” Alice yelled, pressing her imaginary comms button.

“It’s okay, that's just my brother.” Charlotte's casual reply brought the game to a screeching halt.

“Your brother?” Alice repeated, wondering if Mum and Dad had neglected to introduce her to him. “Yeah. If we’re in space, then we’re near Sixam and probably have a bunch of siblings out there.” Charlotte rationalized. She’d been thinking about this quite a lot lately. Wondering what the rest of her family must be like.

Alice didn’t know what to say. She knew Charlotte was probably right. Luckily, their father ended the awkwardness by calling them for dinner.

The family ate outdoors, enjoying the summer weather. Since it was such a lovely night, Charlotte proposed the girls spend the night in the treehouse. Their parents agreed, so long as they stayed together.

Alice turned in early, eager to read under the covers, but Charlotte stayed up as late as she could. Peering through the telescope for a sign, with increasingly droopy eyes. Until sleep eventually won and she headed into the enclosure to join her sister.

The next morning, the girls woke to another bright sunny day. But Charlotte was disappointed, “They didn’t come.” She whispered.

“I’m glad,” Alice quipped, not meaning to sound harsh. “You might have a lot of siblings out there. But I only have you, so I don’t want you to go anywhere.” She remedied.

Touched by her sister’s words, Charlotte gave her a hug. “No matter what, you’ll always be my favourite sister.” She promised, and then the two headed for breakfast. Bickering like nothing had ever happened.

finch isn't her real name. growing up, home never felt like home. if anything, it was a dangerous place and no one around seemed to care. so, when you get a chance to escape a life like that, you take it, and you leave everything, and that includes your name. finch thought she should probably leave her hair behind too, so shaved it all off for good measure. not the most inconspicuous look but, donning her favourite beanie, finch felt safe enough to walk around without drawing too many looks. now, all she has to do is survive in the world with no money, no skills and the clothes on her back. hey, at least she wouldn't need to speak to people. finch hates people (:

rules

Your sim can’t have any kind of shelter. But, you can slowly start building once you have enough simoleons.

A “home” is a house that has at least 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen, and 1 bedroom.

You can’t have any electronics, appliances, or access to a cell phone. To do so, you can put your sim’s phone on silent.

You can’t have any kind of job until you have a home.

You can’t interact with any adult sims until you’re a young adult. So, you can’t cook or shower in anyone else’s house.

You can fill your sim’s needs on any public lots, like a gym.

You can fish, garden, and dig as much as you like and sell your findings.

Your sim can’t go to school.

Using a money cheat, subtract 10 simoleons every time you travel.

“Robyn, I just have to say,” Liliana caught Robyn as the party was winding down. Robyn’s energy was wanning, but it had been so worth it to see all of her friends again. She’d said goodnight to almost all of them, save for Catarina and Liliana. Fateful, since those had been her first two friends in Brindleton Bay ever.

Glancing over at Liliana, she saw her friend looking at her kindly, with admiration in her eyes. “You’ve built such a beautiful home here. And I don’t just mean the house. You, Johnny, the kids, your new puppy -- all of it. You sure have got it lucky, you know?”

The words had Robyn’s heart stirring and she smiled brightly at Liliana in thanks. “I do know,” she agree wholeheartedly. “But thank you for saying it.”
