It was quiet. That suited Danny just fine. After all, he had endured enough to realize that noise often meant something was about to happen. Nowadays the only times he heard something that wasn’t caused by himself was if Cujo came to visit. The first time it happened, Danny was afraid he would have to fight again, but all they did was play for a while. The second time he welcomed it, same with every time thereafter.
He had plenty of time to stargaze. Nobody really visited the Antarctic, so it was perfect for him. Cold, quiet, and with no light pollution, so he could see every single star in the night sky. He could see the Southern Lights as they dance through the air, he could trace the paths of the planets as Earth rotates.
He wanted to leave. He wanted to explore. He wanted to see all there was to see, get lost in the endless cosmos, but he couldn’t. He didn’t know if his human half would survive that long without food. He didn’t want to find out.
Besides, Jazz was here. She was still on Earth, and as much as Danny wanted to leave, he couldn’t. Not while she was still here. Even if he couldn’t bring himself to visit her, to see the disappointment that would no doubt be clear in her eyes, he couldn’t completely abandon her.
As with every time he thought about Jazz, he briefly considered visiting her, but decided against it. If she really wanted to find him she could use the Boo-merang. The fact that it hadn’t happened yet was enough proof that his presence was unneeded.
Besides, why would he leave? He has a sick tower made out of unmeltable ice! It’s been furnished with things that, admittedly, he may have stolen, but only things that would have been destroyed soon anyways! He doesn’t cause any of the disasters that endanger so many pieces of furniture, but he’ll take advantage of it! You can only sleep on hard ice so many times before you realize how nice beds really are.
The point is, he doesn’t leave unless he has to. And since he’s furnished the place, he hasn’t had to leave once. It’s been like a slice of heaven- No ghosts to fight, no hunters to hide from, no insane billionaires who can’t decide whether to kill him or adopt him…
Danny looked up at the night sky again. He could see Acrux twinkling brightly overhead.
It was quiet.

“I’ve got bad news and worse news.” Constantine announced at the next League meeting. “Bad news, beings from the Infinite Realms are, from this point forward, unable to be summoned. Wouldn’t be too bad if we weren’t trying to make peace negotiations with them, but we are, so it’s not great.”
Batman remained visibly impassive, though anyone who knew him could tell just how unsettled that made him. “And the worse news?”
Constantine sighed. “So… Before they blocked themselves off, I spoke to one of them. The Guardian of Time. He told me that, due to his perception of all time, he knew we would lose. Luckily he doesn’t want humanity to die, but he told me that Phantom ghost has a medallion in his chest that makes him immune to his abilities. As such, our one hope of survival could be anywhere by now. The only things he could tell us were that he’s probably not far from Earth, because he still has living relatives.”
Superman straightened up. “That doesn’t sound like it’s worse news. We know Phantom is near Earth and that he’s got relatives here. Surely he would go back to them, right?”
“Well. I didn’t really get to that part yet.” Constantine shifted uncomfortably. “You have to swear to not tell anyone who doesn’t already know. This is like people learning your civilian identities. If you ever try to use it against them, hell, even insinuate that you’re gonna use it, then they will kill you, and they won’t face punishment from their court because it’s technically self defense. Understand?”
Everyone readily agreed. After a second, Constantine continued.
“Phantom is Danny Fenton. He’s what the Guardian of Time called a Halfa, half ghost and half human. His parents are the ghost hunters who started this whole thing.”

hi your thematic tags in general frighten me and I love them. they have dragged me further down the rabbit hole than I knew existed. I hope many of your theories are proved right (PARTICULARLY excited about the speculation that the cube is one of the diamonds, like HES BEEN CARRYING THAT WITH HIM AND IF AARAVOS IS FREED BC HE COUPDNT MAKE HIMSELF DESTROY IT I JUST) i'm very normal about this u see
listen i am king of the rabbit hole, themes are my shovel and i just keep on digging. like we Know there's something up with the fucking relic staff. we Know that (presumably) all three quasar diamonds are needed to free rayla's parents (although maybe just one would work?) so one is presumably missing. aaravos' chest piece is noticeably gone but there's no way he was born / is probably a tangible mark of how he's Fallen and 'imperfect'. and like. after the "dark mage callum holding the ocean rune / moon being most on display" for the 2x08 visions foreshadowing 5x08 i would not put anything past them

i was thinking just the other day that the cube's current known ability of detecting the primal source of stuff would be helpful for someone who is going to collect multiple sources of primal magic, and while there might just be mage connoisseurs out there (we only know a couple of elven mages but they seem to mostly stay within their own primal?), it's like... that sounds Really helpful for a dark mage in particular?? who would want to use certain primals/ingredients for different spells?
even the emphasis rayla puts in her "dear callum" letter of a "missing piece of your heart" and how she has a missing piece of callum's, only to return that with the cube also on her shoulder (for no in-universe real reason? it's gotta be symbolic of Something)?? and the way the an arcanum is "the tiniest piece of a primal" the same way the key is Probably another piece of the prison puzzle and/or Aaravos' mystery because an arcanum is "a secret and a spark" (the mystery of Aaravos / "his touch: a blaze, a gift, a spark" from the midnight star poem) like

WAIT you wrote dead on arrival?! I read that and it's so good!! You did such an excellent job! Ed haunting Mustang was amazing, as was Mustangs 'ah yes, I'm just haunted by my actions'. Also Al's devestation and spiraling were so well done, excellent job!!!

Short out his coffee maker right as it heats up, flush the toilet every time he gets in the shower, blow the fuse in his hairdryer 😌 Ed deserves it. As a treat.

Do you have any experience in emchanting magical gems like....Quasar Diamonds perhaps?

If no....your assassitance will still be needed.
Enchanting magical gems? I don't... one does not enchant magical gems, they already come enchanted! I can enchant weapons, metals, trinkets, toys, non-magical gems... just about anything, so long as some form of magic is not already occupying the substance. But I cannae enchant magical gems and primal stones.
I've yet to encounter a quasar diamond, and have yet to meet anyone who has, I'm afraid. But now I'm curious: what will my assistance be needed for? Or rather, who will be needing it?

What is your character's favorite physical trait they possess?
For AZA, it’s definitely his hair. He actually does really like his hair and wants to grow it out. Well for QUASAR, it’s kind of complicated. It doesn’t really like any physical trait in his actual form but if we’re talking about human form then it’s favorite physical trait is just his body. He likes how it can wrap around someone without. Killing it. :(
Is there something about your character's appearance that they would change if possible?
Surprisingly for AZA, nothing comes to mind. He’s satisfied with how he looks and he wouldn’t change anything, he just gets so sad sometimes to the point where he can’t style himself the way he likes so that is usually what makes him frustrated with his looks. QUASAR would change big it is, it doesn’t like how it takes up space it scares him.
Is there a habit your character has that they learned from someone else?
AZA bounces his leg after seeing his mother do it so often. It’s not a habit that cannot be stopped unfortunately if he’s already feeling nervous. </3 QUASAR has a habit of humming, it reminds him of. AZA just wants to hear “I’m really proud of you.” from someone, it’s not a secret to anyone but him really. He just never says it but it’s obvious. :( QUASAR doesn’t know. There’s no one who he wants to hear anything from. I guess…It depends on who it’s coming from. AZA has a skincare routine and hops into cinnamoroll pajamas / night gown to sleep. 😋 He needs the room freezing but I don’t know if that counts as a routine. QUASAR doesn’t sleep, it’s a galactic deity

AZA does not but he wins every time 😭 bro starts shivering in his timbers before decimating an entire continent by accident (lore accurate) QUASAR feels confident in any fight, he’s a void

Yep the FMA English translated games were called, I think, “The Angle with the Broken Wing” and “The Crimson Stone”, and they have animated sections that are great and make me laugh (I have play through links saved that I can share if you like)

Supposedly there are 3 Quasar Diamonds in the world. But I am a faithful follower of the Hc that the violet gem in Viren's Staff is a Quasar Diamond too
But that would also prove the connection between Star Magic and Dark Magic, I guess. What do you think about that?
Oh yeah! I did a whole post about the Relic Staff explicitly about how the gem stone seemed to be changing between flashbacks (Ziard's time) and modern day (Viren and Claudia). They're not visually subtle about the overlap, either, even beyond both dark and apparent star magic being Purple as Hell:
Which given the star magic would presumably be drawn from the cosmos/matter, and dark magic is similarly drawing from all kinds of matter (as opposed to just one) it tracks from a parallel formation standpoint. Dark magic allowing Aaravos to control people / star magic having its thematic tethers all over ideas of Destiny/a predetermined fate to boot
But given that Callum is on track to be dabbling/researching in both dark magic and star magic next season, I guess it's only a matter of time before we find out!
