Hi Itsu! For Infinite Blue it's basically just Mystic Messenger because I hadn't really played any VNs/otome games before MM 😅
In general relevant storytelling inspirations for me are Tim Burton/Henry Sellick, Studio Ghibli and anime series like Full Metal Alchemist, Fruits Basket, Baccano, Cowboy Bebop, and Monster.
Writing wise it's a bit all over the place, but I love whimsical stuff like Howl's Moving Castle (the book), mysteries like Agatha Christie novels, and horror like from good old Steven King. I do enjoy genre hopping, both in reading and writing.
Music is also a huge inspiration! Thanks for the question :)

(no but seriously I'm going to sit and prep as many as i can this weekend because while i love doing the countdown posts, they can take anywhere from 2 minutes to half an hour to make depending on how hard it is to find content/how much content there is, and i am in medical school and have finals coming up, and it's going to eat way too much study time if i continue making them daily like i am atm)

The other day I had an urge to read one of the EAY chapters, chapter 8, when a Mickey reveals himself to Ian for the first time.
I mean, JOVI?! I’m not even a cat person! Please name something that makes your heart sing more than Mickey rescuing a cat with a notch in its ear and bringing it home and feeding it and cuddling it like please, 🤚🏻 I am only human 😭 but not to be too insane but Liza from @gallawitchxx’s An Exception to the Rule said it best about Mickey-
“You are so far from the angry little kitten that sat across from me all those years ago. Fingers itchy with magic, but brain too full of dumb hatred and rot. Little by little, we cleared out all that gunk, didn’t we?” Mickey nodded, suddenly feeling like a kid, and she patted his arm. Soothingly. “Got that big heart beating again, shined it up real nice and pretty. No wonder some Sunshine Boy’s come along to claim it.”
And is that the only reason I find so much comfort in Mickey? How he harnesses his strength and puts himself out there and finds true love and goes against what he is "supposed" to be?? Definitely not, there are so many reasons that he is my blorbo. But it definitely is one!

Take your time but man, it’s great and we’re all ravenous for more!
Usually, I am a chapter ahead....I already have the majority of the chapter written, nonnie! I just want to make sure that when I post it, you guys are seeing it. (something within the algorithm and my taglist caused engagement to be low yesterday).
But you have no idea how wonderful it is to hear that you guys enjoy this story as much as I do. It's my biggest goal to humanize Elvis and bring him down from his pedestal. I think I am doing a good job at that, ESPECIALLY in part 3.
so guys, how bad do we want it? Its 3K so far...

Sorry for the wait! Got a bit busy.
🪄 what is your post-writing/sharing aftercare? How do you take care of yourself or celebrate yourself when you've finished a fic?
I, uh...I don't think I do? I mean, I usually just throw on some music and read some fanfiction written by other people. Beyond that, if I'm still in the mood to write, I might start/continue a different fic.
I should do something more rewarding though. Like a puzzle. Yeah. Next time I finish a fic/oneshot I'll do a puzzle.
🕯️ was there a fic that was really hard on you to write, or took you to a place you didn't think it would take you?

I don't think a fic has been hard on me to write. There are some that I've struggled with, but none that I would call hard.
Now, if we talk about a fic that took me to a place I didn't think it would take me, I'd have to go with I'm Right...Right?, which I wrote for @dreemurr-skelememer.
This is the fic that got me most of my followers (I think, anyway). This is the fic I've gotten the most notes on (a whopping 546!). It's the third fic I'd ever written for someone else. I wasn't expecting the response I got, and even now I'd pick it out as one of my favorite fics simply because of how it made me feel.
I wouldn't be here without this fic. I love it so much. And I'm proud of my younger self for taking the chance and writing it. And posting it, too.
💎 why is writing important to you?
...Now this is a loaded question. I had to think about it for a minute.
Writing is important to me because stories are important to me. Writing is important to me because words are important to me. Writing is important to me because I still remember the first time my teacher told me I was a good writer, that I should keep it up. It's a memory I still hold close to my heart.
Despite that memory, my love for writing didn't come until a few years after. I was around 12 - 13 when I hit the lowest in my depression (which might've been autistic burnout the more I learn about it). I was missing school for virtually no reason. When I was 14, I pretty much missed the entire year. And then when I was 15, Covid hit and I was indoors. I was at my computer, time at my fingertips.
I just started writing my oneshots. And here we are.
My skills grew, and along the way, that's when I realized this is what I wanted to do. Reading the comments people gave me told me I was good at this. I hadn't been this good at anything yet. And I loved the feeling of pride I felt in myself, the motivation I needed to kick me into gear.
My writing is me. I am my writing.
Writing is important to me because it's writing. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hello! I was originally just going to delete this ask because it's not exactly my type to get involved in fandom drama, but you chose to send this on a day when réka was particularly vocal about her love for bts in our server so like..... I just have to show you how wrong you are, sorry.
Here, anon (you're welcome to come off anon to talk if you would like to have an actual conversation), have some screenshots from this morning of réka (user sope come back 🍾🎊 ) loving on the members at 7-8 in the morning on a random weekend, which you would know is a pretty frequent occurrence if you knew her outside of her tumblr blog (which, yes, was very focused on yoongi as he is her bias and the member she chose to gif most):
You'll notice that, in this server that réka created, there are individual channels for all the members, as well as a sope (her main bias line) and ot7 channel, because she actually loves all seven members and wanted us all to have a space to gush about each member (réka included). Having a bias, someone you relate to more, does not mean you don't care about the other members.
I understand that all you know of her is her tumblr account, but you have to understand that what someone chooses to post on a curated blog is not their entire life.
I hope this little glimpse into outside-of-tumblr réka allows you to open your mind a bit and realize that you don't know as much as you think you do about people on the internet.

I have been having some mixed emotions about my sexuality lately and I don’t know how to express it. I basically like the thought of being in a relationship with a woman but I love my boyfriend to death. I’m not one to deny when I see an attractive woman and I’ve been daydreaming of Robin Buckley but I guess I’m kinda scared of what my friends and family would think if I brought it up to them. One of my best friends used to kiss me when we’d get drunk but it wasn’t meaningful since her and I have been friends since we were 5. I just need some advice or reassurance I guess.

Bestie, You are not in anyway weird, strange or wrong for feeling this way. Maybe you're questioning. That's 100 percent okay! I would weigh and consider what would happen if you told your family and friends about it. I think it depends on where you are in your journey and your confidence on how they would take it. Have you spoken to your boyfriend about it?
Also, don't worry about labels. Live your truth, whatever that may look like. Your sexuality is your own, no one else's. The people that truly love you will be there no matter who you're attracted to or who you're with.
Not everyone is so accepting, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't live your life loving whoever you want to love. Doesn't mean that path is easy, but nothing worth while really is.

The man that planned their anniversary party as a surprise? Yeah, I bet he has a bunch of reminders and alarms for various Ian things.
He has countdown reminders for their anniversary and Ian’s birthday. Probably other notable days, too. Thanksgiving, Monica’s d***h, maybe his in-law’s birthdays as well?
I bet he has a “med refill pickup” reminder or alarm too, just offers to grab them if he is running errands.
As he gets older, he uses his calendar more and more, blocking out their date night and other recurring events (dinner at Lip’s, pizza night with Liam or Franny).
What do you think with that genius brain, Drish?
