You seek permission to use my artwork? Read on, friend!

My policy for using my artwork for book bindings is as follows:

I give permission for my work to be used ONLY for personal bindings and bindings intended as one-off gifts. I DO NOT give permission for my work to be reproduced in any way for profit. This includes, but is not limited to, bindings made for sale or other forms of distribution, even if the sale price only covers the binder’s material costs.

Basically, if any money is changing hands whatsoever, you do not have my consent to use my work.

My policy for any public sharing of my artwork:

Please DO NOT post my work in other online spaces without my permission. Please DO NOT post my work separately on tumblr instead of reblogging. If you publicly share images of a personal bind that features my work, please DO tag/credit me in your post.

I won’t demand that every person who wishes to use my artwork for binding individually seek out my permission before doing so, but I’d really appreciate an acknowledgement in anything shared publicly. Partly because I just really want to see the beautiful things you make!

If anyone is unsure about whether their intended use falls within these parameters, my DMs are always open. :)

Closing Thoughts on Fan Works

Obviously, I am powerless to stop anyone taking my work and reproducing it without my consent. Such is the internet. I am sharing my fan art purely for the joy of participating in this community that I love. I am not here to in any way profit from that community, and I do not intend to ever hide myself behind a paywall or otherwise restrict access to my artwork. But online fan spaces, like all communities, require a degree of trust and mutual respect in order to survive.

We are so lucky to have spaces like tumblr and AO3, but we’ve already seen how a handful of bad-faith actors can undermine the integrity of these spaces, to the extent that authors and artists feel the need to withdraw entirely. By releasing our work into the world, creators are trusting that others will not take advantage of something they have given freely. So it’s hard not to feel a bit betrayed when people abuse that trust - and if that betrayal begins to erode the joy these interactions once held, then you start to wonder what it is you’re even doing here. What is the point in fandom if it’s no longer fun?

A continuation (or prequel?) of the image I shared yesterday of unnamed chubby-cheeked Granger-Malfoy child and her best friend Crookshanks. (He may be her best friend, but she is most certainly not his.) And oops I now have numerous rich headcanons of the G-M kids and their favourite long-suffering familiar.

I had to google at what age children develop different speech sounds to figure out how a three year old might say “Crookshanks”

HELLO! Today is exactly one month since I started this tumblr - and what a month! To mark the occasion, this unidentified, chubby-cheeked Granger-Malfoy child; Crookshanks - destroyer of worlds, receiver of nice pats, master of the big stretch - and I just wanted to say thank you so bloody much for making my first month of sharing my fan-art so magical!

I’m going to spare you my sentimental ramblings about why exactly the Dramione fandom is so meaningful to me, but just want everyone to know how much I appreciate your feedback and enthusiasm. I don’t generally care at all about things like followers or engagement; this account and my illustrations are very much for my own enjoyment. However, yesterday I realised I’d passed the 100 follower mark, so feel it’s worth acknowledging what an honour it is to have so many people to share in the excitement of this fandom with, both here and in my ancestral home, the subreddit.

Judging by the current state of my WIP folder, there is so much more to come in future. And I look forward to sharing it with you all. ❤️

Currently reading Chef’s Kiss by 5moreminutes, which is, so far, so entirely different a reading experience to the one I was expecting and had emotionally prepared for. As in, I was not emotionally prepared. But I’m 60% in and having a glorious time.

Like, I was expecting, based on the summary, something rather light-hearted, perhaps even a little cracky. But the richness of the prose? The devastation that certain lines are causing me? The fucking lore?! This fic compared itself to Halloweentown in the description. I have been shamelessly catfished and I could not be happier about it.

Anyway, run don’t walk for your weekly 65k of prison reform, mystery solving, and pining through steel doors (oh, also some absolutely primo NottPott).

this is pt 1 of two (honestly maybe three) illustrations from the same scene in BSP chapter 8, because this moment has me screaming crying throwing up every single time I read it for some reason? The levels of absolute filth I consume daily thanks to this fandom, but THIS is the first scene in a fic to ever make me physically blush??

I think it’s the chronically ill girlie in me ("in me" bitch she is me) who clearly has developed some sort of healing/carer kink. And the vulnerability of it all. I die!

(safe to say I am absolutely not ok and literally never will be ever again in my entire life)

anyway I tried something new for the colouring, idk if I love it but I certainly…did it. I always want my colouring to be even looser and more textured, just real casual-like, like it’s not even a big deal. Unfortunately I am a hyper-focusing control freak who zooms in way too fucking far

did a cheeky five minute revision of this the other day, ‘twas an itch I could not help but scratch

added draco’s forgotten dark mark, plus a few scars, then lightened the whole thing verrrrrry slightly

(some sweet human on Reddit suggested he glamoured it as a courtesy because it upset her, and normally I do love me a courteous draco, but let’s face it, this is bsp draco, that dark mark is just going to be out and about pressing all up on people during cuddles)

didn’t do anything like, idk, make it neater. that would be madness.
