Re: the pre-show comics and other show adjacent content. just wanted to share some stuff in case you haven't seen them 🙂
There are three comics that were released/written around the same time as the first season of the show.
The first, The Interconnectedness of All Kings, which takes place chronologically after the other two, is basically its own self contained story separate from the show. All three of the comics revolve around an alternate universe Dirk Genty with his own companion and story and background separate from the 2016 show Dirk Gently. The second two, A Spoon Too Short and The Salmon of Doubt, connect more with the show, alternate universe Dirk and his companion doing a bit of investigating by time travel and dimension hopping to find out why that Dirk is seeing snippets of a life he didn't live and ends up crossing paths into the 2016 show lead up, so we get to see bits of backstory, like why Bart was going after Dirk, how Ken ended up with the Men of the Machine, Amanda having her first pararibulitis attack, Dirk getting high with Todds landlord, tiny Dirk escaping Blackwing, some questionable bits with Martin and the alternate universe companion and also a scene between alternate universe Dirk and 2016 Dirk swapping stories. They're interesting reads, and fun to give some context to things in the show. I just got the kindle versions on Amazon. There is a printed version Dirk Gently's Big Holistic Graphic Novel but it only has the first two comics and not the third which has most of the crossover pre-show stuff in it.

Of course, there are also the (not Samuel Barnett version of Dirk) Douglas Adams books, the radio shows, play, the 2010 BBC show with Stephen Mangan, and a who knows if it'll ever actually happen but I'll hold out hope forever animated series Arvind Ethan David has been talking about for years that is "in production". I can't think of any other Dirk Gently 2016 show things. I love all the interviews the cast have done talking about the show (check on YouTube for those) and some promo videos (plus that little short blooper for the comic con promo with Sam giggling about Elijah being dead 😂)

Malachi Kirby to Star in “Anansi Boys”
Malachi Kirby has joined the cast of Amazon’s Anansi Boys, based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. Kirby joins the previously cast Delroy Lindo (Mr. Nancy / Anansi). Kirby will portray both Charlie Nancy and Spider. Gaiman and Sir Lenny Henry are writing the six-episode limited series along with Arvind Ethan David, Kara Smith, and Racheal Ofori. Gaiman and Douglas Mackinnon will serve as co-showrunners.
Anansi Boys follows timid Londoner Charles Nancy. Charles finds out that his father, Mr. Nancy, has died. Charles then discovers that Mr. Nancy is in fact the trickster spider god Anansi. Also, Charles’ heretofore unknown brother Spider is about to make Charles’ life very interesting.
Variety broke the news.

Of course, ownership to the original creators, but I know many of us (including myself) purchased tickets to the lecture intending to watch it later and are unable to now due to the recording issues they had.
