Winx Club and Young Justice Romances - Original Endings
One of the reasons why I love Young Justice and Winx Club so much is because of all their epic love stories among the shows main couples and funny enough, I discovered they shared a strong similarity when both series originally ended.
Winx Club originally came to an end with it’s fourth season while Young Justice was cancelled after it’s second, until both series were revived a few years later. However, when both shows initially ended at the time, I discovered the main series romances had each received a similar conclusion/development to their love stories.
On Winx Club, the series originally ended with the tragic death of Nabu after he sacrificed himself to save the Earth Fairies from the Wizards of the Black Circle. Aisha was left completely heartbroken and devastated as a result of his death, especially since the two had plans to spend the rest of their lives together.
At the same time after being broken up for the entire season, Musa and Riven were finally back together again and with the tragic end of Aisha and Nabu’s love story, it only just made them realize how truly precious life is and they should spend it together.
On Young Justice, the second season ended with the loss of Kid Flash aka Wally West after his sacrifice saved the world from the Reach’s Endgame, but leaving his beloved girlfriend and crime-fighting partner, Artemis brokenhearted by the loss of her soulmate.
Meanwhile, Miss Martian and Superboy were finally beginning to at long last reconcile their own romantic relationship with each other after they were broken up for the entirety of season 2.
True Love Forever Separated
Originally both these couples had a very rocky start to their relationships, but by the following seasons, they had developed a serious and committed romantic relationship with one another to the point they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together and loved each other with all their hearts.
Aisha and Nabu
Aisha and Nabu were one of the most stable couples during season 4 of Winx Club. In the time since they got together since season 3, Aisha and Nabu were shown to have formed a very strong, healthy, loving and committed romance between them to the point they were the envy of the other couples like Musa and Riven and even Bloom and Sky! When Aisha and Nabu officially got engaged on their own terms, they were excited to be planning not only their wedding, but their future together with the added desire of living a life on Earth! They had soon many hopes, so many plans, they had everything they wanted and more until the day Nabu lost his life in his heroic act of saving the fairies of Earth.
Wally and Artemis
Wally and Artemis’s relationship had grown significantly since the first season of Young Justice. By season 2, five years had passed, they retired from the Team and were now living a happy life together while attending collage with their love stronger than it’s ever been. However, their newfound life was interrupted when Artemis was recruited to take part in a deep cover mission with Wally aware of the truth and worried for her safety. They were reunited in the last remaining episodes with plans to once again retire and resume their life together, but sadly never got that chance when Wally died saving the world.
Wally and Nabu both died at the end of their seasons, but the difference, Wally died in the final episode while Nabu passed away 2 episodes before the season finale.
Both the couples lives and futures together were taken away from them. Wally and Artemis’s normal/hero free life and Aisha and Nabu’s engagement/future married life.
By the time the series ended, Aisha and Artemis were left extremely heartbroken and upon the series revival, they each had a season to heal, move on and find the courage to fall in love again after losing Nabu and Wally.
They Lost their Way, but Found Each Other Again
Despite the tragic and sad ending for one half of the Winx Club and Young Justice romances, the other half of the couples were each given a second chance. Musa and Riven as well as Miss Martian and Superboy were all broken up from each other and after a long hard rocky road, both couples managed to find their way back together again.
Musa and Riven
Musa and Riven are the couple who have had the most problems on Winx Club, but they always seemed to work things out until they faced their greatest challenge yet in season 4.
In the beginning, Musa and Riven were still together and things seemed to be going great between them, but upon arriving on Earth, Riven became jealous and untrusting when Musa began to pursue a music career and started receiving attention from a lot of guys, especially the eye of music producer, Jason Queen. Because of his lack of support, trust and encouragement, Musa broke up with Riven in the 10th episode and their relationship became extremely tense and strained. Riven worked the whole season to win back Musa by improving himself to become a better person for her and by the end of the season, they had gotten back together with a much healthier and stronger relationship than before.
Miss Martian and Superboy
Miss Martian and Superboy are the power couple of Young Justice until they were revealed to have recently broken up by the start of season 2!
The truth behind their break up was as devastating as it was shocking. Superboy broke up with Miss Martian when she began abusing her powers and left the bad guys in catatonic states, without feeling any remorse or guilt over her horrific actions until the final straw was when she attempted to tamper with Superboy’s mind and make him forget he was ever upset with her. Following their break up, M’gann and Conner’s relationship became very strained, but it was also clear they were both still very much in love with each other. Eventually after finally realizing the error of her ways, Miss Martian and Superboy at last began to repair their relationship in the final episode.
One of the main reasons behind both break ups was Trust. Riven didn’t trust Musa when she began spending time with Jason Queen while M’gann had destroyed the trust between her and Conner after she tried to erase his memories.
Both involved a love triangle. Following her break up with Riven, Musa developed a crush on Jason, only to find out later that he was getting married. M’gann pursued a romance with Lagoon Boy until she later came to realize she was only with him to make herself feel better and he was nothing then her rebound guy.
It took Riven and M’gann a long time to realize it was their fault that lead to their relationships ending and take responsibility/apologize to their partners.
In the final episodes, both couples each take a moment to acknowledge how short life can be in the aftermath of the deaths of their friends and the resulting heartache of their loved ones, which helps to bring Musa/Riven and Miss Martian/Superboy back together.
Musa and Riven are officially back together by the time season 4 ends while Miss Martian and Superboy are on the verge of getting back together. (They officially become a couple again in the Torch Song comics)

The Next Generation (Fanfic excerpt)
Excerpt from my Young Justice fanfiction about DickBabs son and ArtemisWallys twins
Nathan revved up the engine to his new Mustang in front of the West house.
Melanie opened the door first looking shocked when she saw him in the vehicle and quickly ran to the driver's side window
"Is this yours?" she asked with a wide grin
Nathan nodded "You bet it is baby" he winked even though she couldn't see it from behind his sunglasses
She smiled and leaned forward pecking his lips.
"Dude, no way you got a car!" Mark asked running across the front lawn
Nathan nodded "Yeah, I literally just got it 30 minutes ago. I came over as soon as I got the keys" he said excitedly
Wally and Artemis came out of the house to see what all the excitement was about
"Well I see someone is having a very happy 16th birthday" Artemis grinned checking out the car
Nathan let a chuckle "Yeah my grandpa and Alfred surprised me. We went over to the manor to have breakfast and this beauty was in the driveway with a tag that had my name on it" he explained
Wally smiled and teasingly rolled his eyes "Typical Bruce, spoiling his grandchildren rotten. Happy birthday though"
Nathan smiled "Thanks"
Mark pulled his head out from the passenger side window where he had been checking out the car "Hey can we all go for a ride" he asked looking at his parents
Nathan nodded "Oh that would be awesome we could drive around Gotham, heck if it's okay with everyone we can maybe drive out to Central City"
Melanie turned to her parents "Please mom and dad? I promise I'll make sure the boys are good" she pleaded
Artemis sighed and looked at Wally "They are good kids"
He nodded "And knowing the Batfamily they probably modified this thing to be super safe"
Artemis smiled and nodded in agreement before looking back at the kids "Can it fit all 3 of you safely?" she asked since it was a sports car
Nathan nodded "Yeah, there's a backseat. It's actually pretty roomy"
She smiled "Alright go ahead"
The kids high fived and climbed into the new Mustang, Mark climbed into the back while Melanie got into the passenger seat
"But don't go any further then Central City and come home by 5 because you have your birthday dinner tonight and your mom will have your butt if you are late to that Nathan Wayne Grayson.
The three nodded
"I told you, mom, I'll keep them in line," Melanie said leaning over Nathan, so she could speak to her
Artemis smiled "Alright, have fun" she waved and watched them drive off
She looked over at Wally "A Mustang, man I wish I got that for my 16th birthday-Wally are you okay?" she waved a hand in front of his face
He turned drawing his attention back to her "Did he say ROOMY back seat? Do you know what ROOMY means?"
Artemis rolled her eyes and smiled "Come on Baywatch, let's get dressed and go to Wayne Manor. We can pass the time by exercising with our friends" she said grabbing his hand and dragging him to the house
"So how does it feel to be 16?" Mark asked from the back seat as they drove along a winding road
Nathan laughed "Feels like 15 except I can drive, except technically Mels your dating an older man that's kind of hot huh?" he asked glancing over at Melanie
She smiled and shook her head "Not really considering Mark and I will be 16 in less than 3 months. I don't think anything can beat how hot being in a secret relationship was" she smiled and pecked his cheek. "But it is pretty exciting that you can pick me up for dates now in your sexy new car"
Mark shook his head "Changing the subject before I throw up all over your new car. What are we going to do once we get to Central City?"
Nathan shrugged "There's that good Pub there, maybe we could get lunch. We can invite your Uncle Berry and Aunt Iris to join us"
Melanie nodded "They'd love that! I'll text Aunt Iris now" she said pulling out her phone as they crossed the Central City line
Later on at Nathan's birthday party, Melanie stood a few feet behind her brother and boyfriend not believing what she was hearing
"So, your dad told you today that you get to go on their world training trip this summer?" Mark said
Nathan nodded "Yeah, but I don't think I'm going"
Mark looked at him questionably "What do you mean? You've been wanting to go on that trip since you were 10 and now that your finally old enough to go your not?"
Nathan shrugged "Mel and I are getting so close in our relationship, it's finally out of the 'we used to be friends' thing and we are getting comfortable being openly affectionate. I'm afraid a summer away might bring us back to square one"
Mark gave him a half smile "You know once you tell her that she's going to say that you should go. She knows as well as I do how long you've wanted to go on this trip"
Nathan nodded "Which is exactly why she won't find out."
Mark sighed "All right, you have my word I'll keep quiet"
For the next hour, Melanie paced the floor of the manor nervously. A million emotions running through her. She did her best to avoid Nathan as well. That was until he took her by surprise jumping from a corner and quickly pulling her out to the large ballroom balcony where only a few party guests mingled.
"I've been so busy thanking people for coming to my party that I haven't gotten to spend time with my favorite guest," he said wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close
Melanie sucked in her bottom lip nervously and looked up at him
He grinned and leaned forward kissing her lips. She began to kiss back until she caught herself and pulled back
"Nate, we need to talk." She said quickly
Nathan looked at her oddly "Talk?"
Melanie nodded and sat down on the nearby bench, he followed sitting next to her
"Okay let's talk," he said sending her a smirk
Melanie sighed, she really didn't want to do this. But she cared about him and all she ever wanted was what was best for him
"I think we should break up," she said quickly
Nathan turned to her, his happy face changed to almost a look of fear "Break up?"
Melanie turned to avoid his face, afraid that if she looked into his blue eyes long enough she'd give into her heart and change her mind "Yes, I- I think we should go back to just being friends" she said closing her eyes and nodding her head
Nathan jumped off the bench and crouched down in front of her "You don't mean that Mels" he said placing a hand on her chin and pulling her head up
She looked at him and took in a breath "Yes, I do Nate" she leaned forward and kissed his cheek quickly, then left before he could say anything else.
Running through the manor Melanie whipped the tears from her eyes and quickly found Mark.
"Mark, can we go home?" she sniffed
Her twin turned to her and jumped concerningly upon seeing her tears "Mel? What's wrong?"
She shook her head "I just wanna go home please?"
Mark looked at her and nodded "Of course, come on"
Mark leaned up against Melanie's head bored of her bed while Melanie sat next to him crying on his shoulder
"Shh it's okay Mel," Mark said as he rubbed her back "If you overheard us talking why didn't you just step forward?"
Melanie shook her head and lifted it up lightly to look at him "I want him to go on this training trip, I know it means a lot to him. No matter what I said he's stubborn he would still stay. I don't want him doing that because of me" she said tears streaming down her face
Mark reached up and whipped her tears before gently pressing her head back down to his shoulder
Wally opened the bedroom door smiling "We were wondering why you two left the part-what's wrong?" he asked his smile dropping
"Melanie broke up with Nathan," Mark said
Wally drew his head back looking surprised "She broke up with him?"
Mark nodded "Long story, I'll explain later. Just know he didn't do anything wrong"
Wally nodded opting to close the door and let them be. Figuring this was more of a twin thing than a daddy-daughter thing
He met Artemis in the hallway and she smiled at him "Did you find the kids?" she asked
Wally nodded "Yeah, Melanie broke up with Nathen"
"Melanie broke up with him?" Artemis asked surprised
"I know. Who breaks up with a Grayson?" he said in disbelief
His phone began to ring, Wally pulled it out and saw that is was Dick before answering
"Hey Dick, you're on speaker," Wally said putting the phone on speaker so Artemis could hear
"Hey Dick" Artemis chimed in
"Hey, I think your daughter broke our son," Dick said as he looked at his son lying face first in the couch his head buried in the cushions mumbling things they couldn't understand. While Barbara attempted to talk to him.

also if you wonder how much i love kaldur and conner (separately and together) i stopped watching young justice when i checked the tumblr/ao3 tags for them (when i was just in episode 5 i think bc it be like that sometimes) and found out they had like. zero (0) content.. at least compared to dick n wally (and wallydick/artemiswally) especially kaldur who was my absolute fave.. everyone? did me so dirty?
