Made myself some inari for lunch today and I'm so happy cause I l o v e them sm :,,,) I usually like to add some vegetables too it but we didnt have any that would work today

Today is gonna be a pretty quiet day for me which is nice because I've just got one lesson of art today and then training for my black belt grading in the evening. I might end up staying in art for the day though so that I can get some more work done

I'm currently in the process of planning and creating references for a drawing of orpheus that I want to do as part of my coursework so I'm vv excited for that and if it all goes well then I'll keep ya updated with that one :))

researching history of the art in the french renaissance, scribbling poetry in the margins of your sketchbook, smudged charcoal fingerprints on all of your books, always smelling of linseed oil after a day of painting, pulling off your striped button-down smock covered in paint blobs at the end of the day, callused fingers, standing silently in the center of an empty gallery in the art museum, discussing the erasure of women in art history with your professor, finding beautiful abandoned artworks in thrift stores, rolling up the sleeves of your sweater to hide the paint stains, refusing to let anyone touch your sketchbook for fear that they’ll mock how you express your emotions through lines and color instead of words, staring contests with marble busts

sundays are for grocery shopping…and using copperplate calligraphy to make an ordinary shopping list feel lovely. i brought a little flowering branch back on the way home from the greengrocer—a nice reminder that may is green and light-hearted, even in the midst of a crisis.
