falling asleep with Grimmjow while stoned. you get extremely stoned. it lasts for such a long time. it's kind of insane. by late in the night, you're tired but still somehow awake, but just barely. you didn't know how touch-starved you were until leaning against him on accident. it's not like you're not close but you're just friends, and maybe it just annoys you that if you even breathe near a man too much, everyone suddenly thinks he's your boyfriend. the relief and pleasure of this touch makes you nervous. what if it's a secret crush and you don't know? what if it leads to things you don't want? no, it's fine. he doesn't want that stuff either. you let your head rest against his shoulder when you feel too tired to hold your head up. he hasn't stopped using his phone since you brushed against him on the couch. leaning on him feels like inviting him to do something you don't want. or, maybe it doesn't mean anything to him. you ready yourself to lean yourself in closer against him. his sweatshirt is warm, his shoulder warm. it smells like him: earthy and clear. he makes no effort to move your head away from his shoulder. no twitch, no tense; just a deep long sigh that you can hear with your ear pressed against him. in a short time, you're asleep and so is he. the tangled mess you end up in throughout the night is healing. waking up like this is magical.

Tagged by @cursedvibes 💙 Gotta admit your recent posts about Houseki no Kuni have got me prettyyyyy curious about it.
Three ships: Yuuji/Gojou, Yuuji/Nanami, and Yuuji/Choso based on the extent of my current interest, but if I had to pick one per fandom, it'd be Yuuji/Gojou, Ichigo/Grimmjow, and Steve/Bucky.
First ever ship: I...have no earthly idea. I got into fandom by accident, read anything and everything, and at some point, I got really into shipping, and then it became my favourite form of fandom engagement (which is hilarious because I'm aromantic as all fuck). But I can't remember how/when it started.

💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favourite character? [meme]
I feel like people have him love or become incredibly soft too easily..? I know not everyone shares my aromantic!Grimmjow headcanon but I just can't fathom how you can look at him and everything he does, and come away with the idea that he'll fall head over heels in tender love with the first pretty thing he sees.
Holding his interest for any length of time should be dangerous.

AYYYYYOOOOOOO Ever a classic. GrimmNel is good shit. HMU to plot something for sure!
I can personally be a bit finicky about this ship, I’m very pedantic about the dynamic. I think it can definitely be done but I usually find myself veering towards a more friends with benefits type situation or a sibling-ship (which I assume I must have gotten from canon, idk where else it would have come from).
Grimmjow generally doesn’t handle romance very well, even if it looks like he does. He’s pretty solidly on the greyromantic spectrum, really very close to the aromantic side. So it’s a bit of a balancing act. It would require a lot of work and chemistry building on the muns side but I’m so up for the challenge!
Grimm is very slow to open up (as @rukia-kuchiki-divided knows) and it takes him a very long time to switch people out of the “threat” category. He works in the dichotomy of threat/prey/pack of which none of them is an ideal basis for a romance. So he first needs to build a whole new mental category for them that doesn’t fill either of those schemas and then a relationship can start to form.

Bleach!fic - In Another Life

I told myself that after I binged a game or two that I'd actually try and make some progress on my writing.
So, I have decided I need to actually post some info about my current little Bleach epic, In Another Life, as I've only mentioned it. Multi-POV but centers around Ichimaru Gin.
Short Summary:
Fate seems determined to keep Gin from getting what he wants. However, not even death is enough to stop him keeping his promises to his precious person. People. He may have learned the consequences of ‘doing anything’ for them, but he’s never out of tricks up his sleeves - can’t afford to be, not yet. Not until he gets it back.
Long Summary underneath the break:
In Another Life is a Bleach AU - Canon divergence, Time Travel fic focused on giving Gin less of an anticlimactic ending. Things diverge from Canon when Ichigo and Co are attempting to rescue Inoue from Los Noches and Things Do Not Go As Planned. For just about anybody, including Aizen, Urahara, and Gin, our main set of plotters.
The amassed forces of the Gotei 13 and various allies wait for an invasion of Karakura Town that never happens.
Aizen never reaches the final evolution of merging with the Hougyoku and Ichigo doesn't find out his dad's a shiningami or become a demi-god or lose his powers.
But all of that is really besides the point.
Our story starts with Gin, whose had all of his horrible acts at Aizen's side revealed - and is around for Rangiku to be Very Upset that he could have possibly done any of it 'for her.'
But Aizen is not yet dead, not for real. And Rangiku can be as mad as she wants, but his soul is already damned to hell, his hands as blood-stained as they can get - he won't rest until he gets back what was stolen from her. Even if the ones standing in the way are his allies.
Ran can say what she wants about choosing him at her side over any consequences, she'll remember that she's never really needed him soon enough after he's truly gone. And be better off for it. Maybe in his next life, he'll recognize Family before it's too late, keep them close.
In this life, tempting chances of redemption and Family won't keep him from completing his mission.
Multi-POV, third person, past tense.
Main story after the prologue takes place a few years before and a few years during Turn Back the Pendulum.
Lots of Angst, Guilt, Attempts at Redemption, Intrigue, Manipulation, Some Politics, Found Family, Hurt/Comfort, Unhealthy Relationships, Attempts to make healthy relationships, Extended head-canon for hollows, souls, the Hougyoku, the Soul King, Nobles, zanpakutou, Soul Society, Seireitei.
Main cast: Gin, Rangiku, Shunsui, Jyuuishiro, Shinji, Urahara, Yoruichi, Starrk, Nelliel, Grimmjow. And one main OC, Saigo, who creates trouble wherever he goes, and is most definitely not OP, one-dimensional, or a Mary Sue that everyone instantly likes.
Rating will probably be M? For language, canon-typical violence + some torture scenes, and some twisted manipulation with Consequences.
There will be a few 'pairings' getting screen time, but no graphic sexual content.
I put pairings in quotes because there's One, literally, One romantic pairing in this fic. And it doesn’t come up that often honestly: Shunsui/Jyuuishiro
I head-canon Ran and Gin as siblings with a troubled dynamic, and Gin, while he has a varied sex life as a bi man, is essentially aromantic in this fic.
The main relationship is rare-pair Gin/Shinji. Not only do they have an entirely aromantic relationship, for the entirety of the fic, it is also platonic. For Plot Reasons.
I suppose you might call it Slow Burn.
Edit: I completely forgot to mention that this features some Hollowfied!Gin. I have some concept art somewhere I’ll try to clean up and post at some point.

Hi! So I stumbled upon your Bleach fics recently and I really love them. One question though, can you tell me the sexualities of the characters, both oc and canon? I tend to be slow with that stuff. Sorry if it's a bit annoying.
Oh no problem anon, I'm glad you're enjoying the fics. I don't blame ya for being a bit confused, since I mostly centered on the main pairs. Kubo never really gave us a definitive on these things so given how he's treated LGBTQ+ characters in the past (Chizuru & Giselle) it's safe to say that he might consider them all straight. Hey, Katie, remember when we first started roleplaying Gravitas and Grimmjow together?
Remember when we plotted nearly endlessly about the reasons why they wouldn’t be able to have sex (because they’re too dominant and always trying to be the one on top, so it just ends up in a fight), or why they can only be an intense brotp, no romance (because Grimmjow is aromantic, incapable of having romantic emotions, and Gravitas would be driven to kill and eat Grimmjow because he can’t handle being away from him anymore, but he must leave at some point and continue his journeys)?

NAME - Can call me Taylor or Blaze.
ZODIAC SIGN - Aquarius
HEIGHT - Uh somewhere between 5′6″-5′8″
LANGUAGES SPOKEN - English. I DID take an American Sign Language class for two years in high school, but I never become fluent or even moderately conversational. I still remember some signs though.
NATIONALITY - American.
ORIENTATION - Asexual/Aromantic
FAVORITE FRUIT - Not a big fruit eater, but I love strawberries, bananas, and Granny Smith apples.
COFFEE, TEA OR HOT CHOCOLATE - Honestly I like all three. It depends on what I’m in the mood for. However I prefer ICED coffee over hot, SWEET tea, (I AM a southerner) and hot chocolate with a touch of mint is bliss.
FAVORITE SEASONS - I’ve always enjoyed summer as a kid, nowadays I like late summer/early fall
FAVORITE FLOWERS - Hibiscus, roses, and orchids.
FAVORITE SCENTS - Cinnamon, citrus, and light clean scents
FAVORITE COLORS - Honestly it’s constantly changing because I’m indecisive as fuck; BUT some of my faves include black, dark blue, red, and silver.
FAVORITE ANIMAL - Big cats. Just, big cats in general. But some of my faves are leopards, jaguars, cougars, and tigers.
DOG OR CAT PERSON - CATS! Dogs are ok, but they are NOT the pet for me. I prefer the nature of cats, and can kinda relate to their temperaments more. I tend to think of cats as the introverts who have their own unique ways of showing affection. Pretty empathetic towards cats too.
FAVORITE FICTIONAL CHARACTER - Several... Off the top of my head: Dinobot from Beast Wars, Zuko and Katara from Avatar, Shiro from Voltron, Ichigo, Rukia, and Grimmjow from Bleach, Pyrrha Nikos from RWBY, and Aloy and Erend from Horizon Zero Dawn.
AVERAGE HOURS OF SLEEP - I don’t really keep track. But I usually go to bed anywhere from 11-11:45ish and wake up for work at 7:30. On my days off I tend to sleep in until 10, but if I’m exhausted until noon.
NUMBER OF BLANKETS YOU SLEEP WITH - Just one. I can get too hot under a bunch of blankets. I just use this REALLY soft micro-fiber blanket, and i never get cold with it.
DREAM TRIP - Probably a trip to New Zealand. The country is GORGEOUS and I’d love to see all the beautiful environments in person.
BLOG ESTABLISHED - I don’t remember exactly... TECHNICALLY I’ve been here longer than this SPECIFIC blog, since I had to create a new one once I got a new computer and forgot my original password form my initial account, and no longer have access to the e-mail it was attached to.
FOLLOWER COUNT - A mere 60.
RANDOM FACTS -
1. I am the tallest lady in my family on my mom’s side. They are ALL shorties, even the guys! The guys max out at about MY height while the ladies are about half a head shorter than me. The ONLY reason i’m so much taller than everybody is because my biological father, that I never knew, was like...6′4″ or something.
2. @predatorydeception is my roommate
3. I volunteered for about 3 1/2 years at cat adoption center.
4. My favorite movie series is the Jurassic Park series.
5. Dinobot’s death in Beast Wars is the ONLY piece of fiction that has ever made me shed an actual tear. Every time i watch it my heart breaks.
6. I’m about to have a step-sister with the same first name as me. Her dad and my mom actually went to high school together, and met again a few years ago. I’ll also have a step-brother as well.
7. I am able to throw a card up to 70+ MPH. (Average was anywhere between 50-60 MPH) Yes, it was measured. This happened while at a Mythbuster’s exhibit in the science museum of my city. It was the actual rig they built to test that myth. Also the cards I was throwing were a little warped and I still got that high. I was able to throw them MORE than fast enough and hard enough to embed them in target at the end. I never did because my aim was not so good.
8. I work at the oldest established art museum in Texas, it is now devoted to modern art. (the building itself is only 15 years though)
9. The Spyro the Dragon games were my childhood and I cannot wait until September when the Reignited Trilogy comes out.
10. These are my kitties!
On the right, the black floofermelon named Nox. He’s my oldest baby at 2 1/2 years. On the right is @predatorydeception‘s baby Pidge. She’s a year old.
And this is the latest and youngest addition at about 3-4 months old. His name is Ichigo and he enjoys trying to nurse on my earlobes.
