You weren't a violent person. You consider yourself a lover, not a fighter. If your mom taught you anything, it's that violence is not the solution to your problems.

However, when it came to your best friend, Jensen Kay, you were willing to forgo everything your mom taught you. The shit-eating smirk he was sending you made everything in your body heat up.

"You wanna admit that I was right, (y/n)?" You scoffed in response before turning your back to him. His bubbly laugh echoed from behind you as your face started to turn red. The woman behind the counter giggled at the pair of you before she took the cup from your hand.

"I can make you a different drink, ma'am. Matcha isn't for everyone. Is an iced coffee drink ok?," she asked as you mumbled thanks and moved to the pick up area with Jensen following behind you.

"She's right, (y/n). Matcha isn't for everyone. Don't take it to heart that you didn't like it," Jensen teased.

"Up your ass, Jen." The taller man smiled at your response before taking a sip of his matcha latte. His eyes wandered around the cafe before winking at a pair of women ogling him from a table. They giggled once more before turning away as you turned to look at them.

"You're killing my game," Jensen told you as you rolled your eyes. Your best friend was well known throughout the marine raiders as a womanizer. Maybe that's why you two were such a good pair. You weren't against casual hookups, you indulged every now and then, but you didn't do it as frequently as Jensen. Your career was more important to you which meant you didn't have much free time for relationships and such. Besides, it's not like you had much of a life outside of the raiders.

Your parents were long gone and it was a fact you accepted after your mom died. You had an aunt from your mother's side of the family that you spoke to every now and then since she took you in after your mom's passed. Bradley and Pete had been cut out of your life for a long time. Bradley more than Pete.

"Here you go! An iced coffee. I took the liberty of adding in vanilla syrup." The barista placed the drink in front of you as you smiled at her.

"Thank you again. I appreciate it."

"Don't worry about. By the way, you two make a cute couple!" Before you could explain that you and Jensen weren't together, the barista had walked away. A disgusted frown made its way to your face as Jensen snickered.

"How about we get outta here and head to work, babe?"

"Eat shit, shitter."

"Morning Bradshaw! Kay!" Amy grinned at you two. Jensen smiled at her and the two started conversing as you followed behind them. Your service uniform was always incredibly uncomfortable for you. Something about the tightness and formality of it made you scream internally. Of course, you never showed your discomfort on the outside. Years in the academy and in the raiders taught you how to mask your feelings.

Jensen held the door for you and Amy as all three of you walked into the conference room. Politely greeting everyone, you took a seat as the lights started to dim. Your eyes met Nolan's from your spot as you nodded at your elemental leader. Carlos and Ethan were seated next to them and they gave you a friendly smile and nod.

"Thank you all for coming on such quick notice," Ari said, standing tall at the head of the table, all eyes on him. "Normally, the rest of my squad would be here to plan out the assignment, however, the higher ups have deemed that it's only necessary that I work on this." Ari Chambers was a man who respected by all. He was an efficient SOO and got the job done. His own squad was famed for their intelligence when it came to planning your assignments.

"Sir, if I may, why is it that only half our tactical squad was called for this assignment. Wouldn't it make more sense to have all of our combined skill?" Amy asked from besides you.

"The higher ups made it clear that the less people who know about this assignment, the better. I requested that only the people in this room be called back. In my personal opinion, this tactical squad is the stronger of the two in the first battalion. You have a fine squad, Meadows." Nolan nodded in appreciation as Ari continued. "Of course, it won't just be the raiders on this assignment. You'll be accompanied by a squadron of naval aviators, the best I've been assured. They'll take care of the skies while you work on the ground. They'll be arriving to Camp Pendleton within the next day in order to go over the assignment with us. I except everyone on their best behaviors."

You could see from the corner of your eye, Ethan holding back an eye roll at the comment. "Problem, Kim?" Startled, Ethan shook his head as Carlos, Jensen, and Amy turned to him with amused eyes. You and Nolan kept your focus on Ari as he opened a folder. "The squadron you'll be cooperating with has been dubbed as the "Dagger Squad." They'll be led by Captain Pete Mitchell. Callsign: Maverick."

"Can't believe we have to actually work with naval aviators," Ethan complained from the seat behind you as Amy elbowed him. He and Amy were sitting in the seats behind you, and Nolan and Carlos were seated behind them. Jensen was sat to your right in the passenger's seat as you drove to the bar that your squad loved to drink at every time you were in California.

"I'm sure they won't be that bad," Amy reasoned as Carlos snickered from behind her. "Kim's just upset cause he got ghosted by naval aviator once."

"Did not!"

"Did to!"

"Nu-uh!"

"Yu-huh!"

"Children," Nolan warned as Ethan and Carlos quickly stopped arguing. Amy started talking about a movie she saw recently as Jensen turned to you.

"You good?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" you questioned, your eyes momentarily meeting his. Your grip on the steering wheel tightened as you thought back to Ari's words. Scoffing, Jensen rolled his eyes.

"Fine, be like that." Clicking your tongue, you sighed. You didn't like when Jensen gave you a taste of your own attitude. It reminded you of how bitter you became when the topic of your estranged family came up.

"I don't know if I can work with him."

"Captain Mitchell?"

"Yeah."

"Not to be harsh, but it doesn't matter if you think you can't. You're gonna have to so this mission is successful."

"I know. I'm gonna have to act like I can tolerate him, when in reality I want nothing more than to scream at him."

The sign of the The Gunny came into view as your squadmates cheered. Quickly parking and filing out, Carlos slung his arm around your shoulders before shaking you. "You gonna play us another song, (y/n)?" Smirking, you agreed as your group made its way inside.

Bodies in uniform and civies filled your vision as you greeted familiar faces. A smile made its way to your face as you approached the man behind the bar. "You miss me, handsome?" you teased the blond, who's eyes widened and smile widen upon seeing you.

"(y/n)! You're back," Zack sweetly cheered as he hugged you as best he could from behind the counter.

"For you? Always." Zack playfully rolled his eyes as he started pulling out beers for you and your squad.

"I'm assuming everyone else is here if you are."

"Yep," you said popping the 'p'.

"The first round's on the house. I'll see you in between rounds? Oh, and your guitar's still here!"

Giving the blond a wink and smile, you nodded before taking the beers and heading to your group's usual spot. Upon seeing you with drinks, your friends cheered and laughs started to flow around.

A couple drinks in and your squad, minus Nolan and you, had flushed cheeks and wide smiles. "(y/n), you're gonna perform for us, right?!" Amy widely smiled at you as everyone else smiled and agreed. You also smiled as you turned to look at Nolan.

"Only if our fearless leader joins me," you teased. Rolling his eyes, Nolan stood and offered you a hand. Giggling, you followed him towards the small stage and quickly grabbed your guitar that was mantled on the wall.

Your friends and other marines started to cheer and gathered around the stage. Like Jensen, you has a reputation within the raiders. When your squad was stationed in Oceanside, it was a guaranteed that you were the one who would start a performance. You'd say that it was in your genes to perform music for people.

Nolan started playing the drums from behind you and as you started playing on your guitar. People that recognized the tune of the song started cheering.

As your eyes watched the crowd go wild, a familiar Hawaiian shirt peeked out from behind a group of guys and your eyes furrowed momentarily.

You cheered as claps and howls sounded throughout the bar. Turning to Nolan, you grinned as he wrapped an arm around your shoulder. You both bowed and hopped off the stage before joining your friends.

Amy shook your shoulders and brought you in for a hug as the guys patted Nolan on the back. Face a little flushed, you excused yourself and made your way over to Zack. Requesting another beer, you waited for him to finish up with other people.

"Quite a show you put on," a man said from your side. Turning to him, you smiled at him. His green made your cheeks heat up slightly as thanked him. "I didn't know the raiders required sing lessons."

Giggling, you shook your head. "What can I say? Naturally gifted. My folks used to say it was a genetic thing."

"Gifted, indeed," the sandy-blond man grinned. "Jake Seresin." Nodding, you momentarily turned away to thank Zack as he passed you a beer.

"So, Jake Seresin. What're you doing in The Gunny? Never seen you here before."

"In Oceanside for work. I'm a naval aviator."

Raising your eyebrow, you let out a breathy laugh. "It was nice meeting you, but naval aviators are a big no for me." Jake's grin fell for a second before he grabbed your wrist as you turned away.

"Got your heart broken by one?" he asked as you chuckled.

"Three."

"I won't be number four."

Shaking your head, you removed your wrist from Jake's hold. "Sorry, Jake, but I'm just too busy." Quickly turning away, you started making your war back to your friends before stopping as Jake called out after you.

"I'll be by the pools table with my friends if you change your mind!"

Giving him an amused smile, you continued your walk to your friends before sliding into a seat. Exhaling, you tried to hide your red cheeks. Ever the observant one, Ethan whistled and wiggled his eyebrows at you. "Who's got you all red, (y/n)?"

"None of your business," you answered as Jensen and Carlos snorted. Amy smirked at you as she leaned closer to you.

"Come onnnnnnnn. Tell us," she whined as Jensen joined her from your other side. Grumbling, you looked at Nolan with pleading eyes. The older man simply raised his hands in surrender.

"Don't look at me. I wanna know, too."

Groaning, you buried your face into your hands as your friends continued to tease you. "Fine! Some dirty blond with cute green eyes. Approached me at the bar and introduced himself. Jake Seresin."

Amy squealed as the guys started to cheer. "Here's the kicker. He's a naval aviator."

Ethan's face dropped as Jensen and Carlos cackled at his face. Amy and Nolan smiled at you before Carlos suggested you go for after him. While everyone agreed, you started waving them off. "Naval aviators are a big no for me."

"Oh come on! He had you all flustered! I've never seen you like that," Amy reasoned as everyone nodded.

"Don't stop yourself from going after him just cause I have problems with aviators," Ethan added.

Biting your lip, you looked down at your beer. Jensen quickly rubbed your back as he lowered his voice, "Not everyone is gonna hurt you, (y/n)." Sighing, you nodded before standing tall. Your friends cheered as you turned and made your way to the pool tables.

Immediately spotting Jake, you called out to him. Grinning, Jake turned to you. Smiling at him, you tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear before your smile fell. The same Hawaiian shirt you saw earlier popped out from behind Jake. Stepping around the dirty-blond, you called out to the person wearing the shirt.

"Bradley?"

From what I've read the Marine Raider Regiment (MARSOC) is spit into three battalions. (y/n) is a raider within the first battalion which is stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA (45 minutes from Miramar actually). Each battalion is split into two sides, the HQ side and the tactical side. Ari is apart of the first battalion's HQ side and everyone else is apart of the tactical side. There's actually two squads on the tactical side but for the sake of story I only include one squad. If there's anything else I seemed to miss, feel free to tell me and I consider making some changes}

Naturally, Boss was very pleased.

"Good job, everyone" Pete was leaning against the edge of his heavy work table in his home -that was a literal mansion- office, hands resting in the pockets of his grey dress pants. A long mission that had run the course of half a year had finally concluded tonight at the hands of his ace assassin, Y/n, with the assurance that it was going to earn him millions.

"Okay…" He nodded at the team that had been involved; a line of stern faced cruelty hardened men staring back at him. Some had beards, the others hair that touched their shoulders and the few left still the pinkness of early youth in their cheeks. "Dismissed, drinks and dinner are on the house… You earned it" the parting announcement made the younger members, namely Jake, Syd and Bryce, cheer as they turned to leave but not before the dark haired boy with the long hair reached out for the quiet figure that was still in a corner of the dimly lit room; engulfed in darkness.

Pete was quick to notice Syd beckoning Y/n to join them. When the girl made no movement to accept or reject the offer, the Boss half-smiled to himself before he broke up the rising chant of the boys that meant to urge the girl to join them.

"Y/n, stay behind" he pretended not to have noticed the commotion, acting like it was pure business as always. Though his words caused Curtis to tense up and pause mid-turn, bearded jaw clenching as all of them had at least a faint idea -the older members more than that- of what went down when the Boss made the young girl stay behind. Though a quick look from Ari and a quiet arm squeeze from Steve had the man force his feet to move with much will but only after he had closed his fists in tight balls to endure his growing rage.

The younger boys deflated as Jake pouted at Pete, but a challenging eyebrow raise from the older man made all three boys cower before they dragged the one with the spectacles away. And now the room was empty. Pete looked up at the shadowed figure and smiled, holding a hand out invitingly as he awaited obedience.

Y/n had been trained not to move a single muscle until the Boss ordered it, and so she finally moved now. Beginning to close the distance between herself and the only semblance of family and belonging she had, the girl felt her eyes flinch a little when the light hanging above Pete's head hit them. A reciprocative smile made its way on her face as she fished a hand out of her jacket pockets and placed it in his bigger one.

As the Boss' eyes traveled from her pretty face to the hand, the man's widening smile suddenly declined and turned into a scowl instead. He now held his other one out with a stern expression. Pete had heard Fowler had recently hired himself an assassin who was as good as Y/n, but he hadn't believed it until now that his sweet girl's scratched up hands lay in his. It wasn't usual for her to get injured in any way.

Taking care of business unscathed was her specialty.

"Aw, babygirl" crumbling up the digits streaked with red in his palms, the man raised them to his lips and began to pepper kisses all over them. "Oh… Daddy is so sorry…" Her head shook on instinct.

The girl nodded as she resisted the urge to give in to instinct and nuzzle her face in his crotch. But Pete liked it so much when she did so! "You took an oath after all… remember?" Manly fingers slipped into soft hair and short nails scratched against warm scalp.

Y/n's eyelids fluttered as she felt him guide her head closer to his nether regions. "Y- Yes, sir–" the clicks of his tongue signalling disapproval stopped her.

"Now, now, sweets. You can do better than that~" Pete cooed as he hooked one foot under her ass and caressed the cheek.

The girl pinked at that and the man smirked upon noticing it. "S- Sorry… I meant… meant…" Pete hummed as he nodded encouragingly. "Meant… Daddy…" Desperate for cover, she turned her face to the side and nuzzled it in his thigh as her hands hung above her, still clasped in his.

The word always made her feel silly. She wasn't little anymore and Pete wasn't her father, yet he insisted she call him that whenever they were alone.

Taken in by the then Boss Brenner at a very young age after her whole family had been massacred due to a blood feud and thrown in the lowest ranks to frankly be torn and devoured by the predatory ambition filled trainees of what was Pete's mob now, she had fought her way up until she was one of his top people.

However, Y/n's only mental development had been in the realm of survival; her sole art mutilation and horror. It was ironic how she had mastered what most people fear and refrain from knowing anything about but was a stranger to everything that is basic knowledge to the normal person.

So when she had caught Pete's attention at the ripe age of 19, the Boss had taken it upon himself to first test and then teach her all she was ignorant to.

Although in his own way, of course.

When Pete's veins had warmed up from the soft kisses Y/n was pressing all over his nether regions, he gently stood up. The sound of his blood pumping audible in his ears, the man used his crotch to push her face away with the full intention of doing so and then smirked when her eyes crinkled shut at the impact, causing the tip of her nose to rub against his hard-on.

CE Characters Favorite Disney Movies, Part II

Pete Brenner

Peter Pan. Released on February 3, 1953. Growing up, Pete always loved Peter Pan.

Pete's Dragon. Released on November 3, 1977. This movie was one of the first movies that combined animation sequences with live action sequences. This makes sense that Pete would love a movie that has his name in it. Pete always felt that this movie was made just for him.

Mary Poppins. Released on August 27, 1964. It's one of the few movies where the movie is more well known than the book it's based on. P.L. Travers wrote the book, and had to be persuaded by Walt Disney to sell the film rights. The 2013 Disney movie Saving Mr. Banks is about this. Now, Mary Poppins is a much beloved Disney film, much like the Wizard of Oz. Dick Van Dyke, who plays Burt the Chimney Sweep, was also starring in his own sitcom, The Dick Van Dyke Show.

Pete very much loves Mary Poppins. This is his favorite comfort movie, he even watches it when he's sick. (Mine's A Christmas Story.) Now, Zoe and her sister, Mary, love it, and even sing along and dance to the songs.

Tangled. Released on November 23, 2010. This is Zoe's favorite movie. Rapunzel is Zoe's favorite story, so it makes sense that Zoe loves Tangled. When Zoe wants to watch Tangled, she'll always say "Wapunzel!" She introduced this to Mary, and Mary says "Punzel!" when Mary is old enough to talk. Zoe and Mary will watch Tangled while eating their healthy snacks that are toddler and kid friendly.

Cole Turner

The Sword in the Stone. Released on December 25, 1963. It also stars Alan Napier as the voice of Sir Pellnore. Alan Napier was also shooting the 1960's series Batman, which aired Saturday mornings on ABC. ABC is Disney owned. Cole can't understand why he's drawn to this, but he is. It's always been his favorite Disney movie, and yet he can't understand why.

The Rescuers. Released on June 22, 1977. Bob Newhart was starring in the Bob Newhart Show. I even have a Little Golden Book of this movie.

This is another one of Cole's favorite movies that he never understood why he was drawn to, but now he knows.

The Rescuers Down Under. Released on November 16, 1990. I saw this in the theatre when I was 11. The late, great John Candy does the voice of Wilber. John Candy was a Canadian comedian, who was an alum of SCTV, with Eugene Levy and Catherine O' Hara.

Cole loves the sequel because he got to be your hero. He not only changed your flat tire, you got bitten by a poisonous snake when you were on a field trip on his farm with your students. He not only used his shirt as a tourniquet to stop the venom from spreading, he picked you up, carried you bridal style to his truck, and got you to the hospital quickly. Aladdin reminds Ari of the time he once ran a resort. He now runs an import business, and some of the imports take him back to that place. He was also a geography teacher, and he would always talk about the time he once ran a resort when the kids studied and learned about the Red Sea, and the countries that surround it.

Robin Hood. Released on November 8, 1973. Ari, Zachary and Elijah love this one. The boys can't understand how a fox is Robin Hood, but they love it. The boys are currently into animals, so they love movies that have anything to do with animals. Robin Hood is also their favorite story.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Released on June 28, 2003. Ari loves this because Pirates of the Caribbean is his favorite Disney ride, and with him running his import business and the resort he ran, this hits a soft spot with him.

Th Fox and the Hound. Released on July 10, 1981. This is another favorite with the Zachary and Elijah. Ari loves this one, too. It isn't strange for your three favorite guys to watch this movie, with a huge bowl of popcorn between the three of them, lemonades, and all of them curled up under a blanket, watching this movie. The boys even like to watch when they're sick.

Lady and the Tramp. Released on June 22, 1955. This is Lillian's favorite. It's also a favorite of the boys. You put this on when Lillian would be teething, and she'd somehow forget about her teething pains. Zachary and Elijah and Lillian all watch this on movie night.

Sleeping Beauty. Released on January 29, 1959. Ari has a soft spot for this one. This is his sister Andrea loved this one, and would often dress up as Aurora on Halloween. Lillian loves this one, too. It's another movie that you put on that helps her through teething pains. Ari and the boys get Lillian an Aurora stuffed doll for her first birthday.

Zootopia. Released on March 4, 2016. Zachary, Elijah, Lillian, Ari and you love this one. The kids love animals, and they'll always pick out this one on family movie night. It's gender neutral enough where the boys enjoy it, and Lillian enjoys it.

Frank Adler

Cars. Released on June 9, 2006. Frank is a mechanic, so this movie makes sense for him. He loves it.

Moana. Released on November 23, 2016. Mary loves this one. She's not sure why, though. Frank loves this one, too. He works with boats, and loves being near the water.

Cinderella. Released on March 4, 1950. Mary loves this because she's treated less than. She just wants to feel beautiful even if it's just for one day.

Onyx was always a free spirit growing up. The first one to volunteer for everything and never had any trouble making friends. He loved that he got to travel the world for work and really couldn't imagine living any other way. He isn't sure if he ever really plans to settle down as far as location is concerned and that doesn't bother him in the slightest. He can be cocky and a little stubborn but he generally means well. He spends most of his time outside and in the water, fascinated with the world around him. I knew that my conversation with Simone most likely wouldn’t go well, in that I figured that she would insist on taking Jake to Cape Cod for Christmas. We’re in the middle of Shift Drinks, and all I really want to do is go home. I try to put on a “brave, happy face,” for the others, but Simone’s presence is a constant reminder of what she said to me. It isn’t just that she doubts my relationship with Jake. It’s that she took my abandonment issues and bludgeoned me with them ... without knowing that I have them to begin with. She, of course, acts as though nothing happened; like what she said to me is no big deal. I’m in no mood to “make nice,” with her, even for Jake’s sake, and so I keep my distance.

She sits at the other end of the bar, talking with Jake, and I observe them as I polish glasses. Given what I know about her, I can’t help but feel paranoid. I try to shake off the feeling, but it lingers. I don’t trust her. Especially since our confrontation in the basement. She’s managed to get under my skin, like an infection. No matter what she says, I know she views me as a threat. I can feel it. My “women’s intuition,” or whatever you want to call it, is on high alert. I can’t give her what she wants, whatever that is. If she thinks I’m going to give up, she’s got another thing coming.

I pull on my winter coat and gloves, and then grab my purse. Sasha asks if I’m going to Home Bar, and I shake my head and tell him that I’m going home. Period. I need to regroup, regain my focus, and work through this. I can’t do that here, with Simone around. I leave through the back door, leaving Jake behind. I know he’ll be suspicious, and I feel lousy for sneaking out. We did agree to walk to my place together, after all. But I have to go home and clear my head.

Within ten minutes of leaving 22W, I’m home. I slip into a pair of comfortable pajamas and wrap myself up in my favorite throw, curling up on the sofa. I don’t want to think about anything at the moment, really. I just need to unwind. So I switch on the TV, flip through the channels, and land on a shopping channel. About thirty minutes later, when I’m about to nod off, I hear knocking on my door. I switch off the TV and, still wrapped in my blanket, I open the door.

“Hey,” I say as I step aside, letting Jake in.

“What’s going on? You just left,” he comments, taking off his coat and beanie. He takes one look at me and then furrows his brows. “You’re not sick. Are you?”

I shake my head. “No.”

Jake follows me over to the sofa, and we both sit down. “Why didn’t you tell me you were leaving?”

“I just ... felt like coming home. I should have told you. I’m sorry.”

“It’s okay. Just ... Did I do something? If I did, you gotta tell me. You know how I can be sometimes.”

I shake my head. “No. You didn’t do anything. I just needed a little ‘me time’ before you came over.” Well, that’s partially true, at least. I snuggle up against him and smile a little when he kisses the top of my head. “Did you have a chance to talk to Simone again? You know, about Christmas?” I hear him sigh, feeling the gentle rise and fall of his chest. I already know it’s bad news, even before he speaks a single word.

“I did. She’s not letting up. I’m sorry.”

I close my eyes. I knew this would happen. “It’s not your fault. I know you tried.” I grab hold of his free hand. “We can still celebrate Christmas together. It’ll just have to be on a different day.”

“That’s true.” There’s a brief pause, and then he says “Hey. Are you sure there’s nothing wrong? You seem off.”

I debate my answer. I have two choices, really. I can either lie to him and say that I’m just tired, or I can tell him the truth. I can’t lie to Jake again. I’ve done that enough already. But I don’t know how he’ll react when I tell him what happened. It could open up a huge can of worms. Then again, he could surprise me. If I love him, I should trust him. Shouldn’t I?

“Did something happen at work?”

I breathe in deeply, deciding to take a leap of faith. “Did Simone tell you that we talked earlier today? In the basement?”

“No. Why? Did she say something?”

There’s something about his tone that tells me that it’s okay to tell him this. Though I do choose to leave out the grizzly details. I don‘t want him to know that my fear of abandonment has reared its ugly head again. That‘s my issue, and he really doesn‘t have anything to do with it.

“She said that she’s concerned about us. Our relationship, I mean. She’s worried that it won’t last long.”

“Is that what’s been going on in there?” He lightly taps a finger against my temple. “You’re letting her get to you?”

“No. I mean, yeah. I guess. It just sucks that she feels that way.”

“Let me tell you something about Simone: she doesn’t know shit when it comes to relationships.” This brings a half-startled, half-amused laugh out of me. “And the truth is ... I don’t know what the future will bring. Neither do you. And Simone? She doesn’t have a clue. I may be new to this whole love/serious relationship thing. But I know this: I want to be with you, and I don’t see that changing any time soon.”

I feel better already, and I snuggle even closer to him. “Since when did you become the rational one? Usually, I’m the one who’s trying to talk some sense into you.”

He laughs. “I have my moments. And don’t worry. I’ll have a talk with Simone.”

“Jake --”

“What she said is out of line. I’m not letting her off the hook that easily.”

I smile. Even though I‘m more than capable of standing up for myself, it‘s nice to have him in my corner. Especially where Simone is concerned. “Thank you. Now ...” I stand up and smile down at him. “... I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for bed.” I hold a hand out to him. “Care to join me?”

Flash forward ...

It is now a week before Christmas, and I am in the middle of preparing the pre-Christmas celebration that Jake and I have been planning. I’m determined to keep things as traditional as possible. I’ve already baked and frosted cookies, cut into the shapes of snowflakes and bells. The homemade eggnog is chilling in the refrigerator; rolls are baking in the oven; yams are cooking on the stovetop; and a glazed ham is cooking beautifully in the slow cooker. I even took the time to bake a pie, which is wrapped in tin foil and resting on a cooling rack. I may have gone overboard, but I want this evening to be special. This is more for Jake than it is for myself. He’s going to be miserable on Christmas Day, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to slack off on giving him a celebration he deserves.

I take a peek at the ham, give the yams a stir, and then look at the wall clock. I have just enough time to set up the living room before Jake arrives.

I spread two blankets out on the floor, in-between the coffee table and the entertainment center. Then I set out some pillows, switch on the TV and find a Yule Log video that includes instrumental Christmas music. Cheesy, I know. But I don’t exactly have a fireplace, and so I have to make do with what I have. I set an ice bucket in the middle of the blanket and set a bottle of champagne inside, tying a red ribbon around it and making sure the bow is “just so."

I have a few minutes before dinner is ready, and so I set up the kitchen table. Even though we will be eating in the living area, I still want to create a romantic, Christmasey atmosphere here in the kitchen. The table is already covered with a white cloth, and I’ve set out two red, scented pillar candles. After lighting the candles, I move the pie and the plate of cookies over to the table.

I’ve just taken the rolls out of the oven when I hear a knock on the door. I take off my apron and drape it over the oven door handle, straighten up my clothes, and then walk over to the door. I look through the peep hole, smiling when I see Jake on the other side. And here I was, thinking he’d be late. I open the door and stop him before he can cross the threshold, and he gives me a confused look.

“Oh no, you don’t. Before you enter, you must pay the toll,” I say, pointing up at the sprig of mistletoe I’ve hung from the top of the doorframe.

His voice takes on that low, smoldering quality that I love as he says “Yes, ma’am.” He cups my face in his hands, leans down, and kisses me while he gently pins me against the doorframe. By the time the kiss ends, my hair is a bit of a mess and my knees are a little weak. “May I come in now?” I merely nod and step aside, granting him entrance to my apartment.

While he hangs up his jacket and hoodie, I go back to the kitchen. “You’re just in time. Dinner is ready,” I announce, taking the lid off of the slow cooker and setting it aside.

I lay out a cutting board, as well as a knife and a carving fork. It takes some doing, but I’m able to wrestle the ham out of the slow cooker without it ending up on the floor. I leave Jake to carve the ham while I transfer the rest of our dinner to serving plates and bowls. I’m about to hand him a plate when he sneaks up behind me, pushes my hair to the side, and plants a kiss on my neck.

“Thank you for doing this,” he says into my ear.

I smile. “You’re welcome.”

We take our eggnog and dinner into the living room, and this is the first time he’s really noticed what I’ve done. As we sit down on the sofa, he comments on the romantic set-up in front of this.

“You’re trying to outdo me. Aren’t you?”

I pretend to think about it for a moment. “Mmm ... Maybe.”

Needless to say, Christmas dinner is a success. It took some time and effort on my part, but it’s worth it to see the happy and content look on Jake’s face. After dessert he helps me put the leftovers away, and I decide that the dishes can wait until tomorrow. Our night isn’t over yet. I shut off the lights in the kitchen, blow out the candles, and make sure the door is locked, and then join Jake in the living area. I sit down across from him on the blanket and uncork the champagne, pouring two glasses and handing him one. I put the bottle back in the bucket and move it aside, and we clink our glasses together.

“What do you think of our little pre-Christmas celebration so far?”

“So far? Is there more?”

“Mmm ... Maybe.” I take a sip of champagne and set the glass down, holding up a finger. “Just wait right there,” I tell him before I get up and wander over to my little Christmas tree near the door. I pull Jake’s gift box out from behind the tree and hand it to him, returning to my place on the blanket.

“What’s this?” he asks, setting his glass down and smiling at me.

“It’s a gift. Duh. Open it.”

Jake does as he’s told. As he opens the box and moves the gift tissue aside, I brace myself for his reaction. He’s a hard person to shop for, truth be told. What I’ve given him isn’t fancy or expensive. It’s quite practical, really. But I hope he appreciates it, nonetheless.

The scarf comes out first, followed by a pair of gloves and a beanie. All three items are blue, to match his eyes. I watch him for a few seconds, not quite sure what he’s thinking. “I, I know it’s nothing fancy or ... I just figured that the gloves would come in handy because your hands are always cold, and ... And, well, why have gloves if you don’t have anything to go with them? So ...” I stop my rambling, feeling deflated. “You hate them. Don’t you?”

“No,” he answers, shaking his head. “No. They’re perfect.” He wraps the scarf around his neck and then leans forward to kiss me. “Thank you.”

“You really like them?”

He chuckles. “Yes. I love them.”

I gesture to the gloves and beanie. “Try them on. If they don’t fit, I can always exchange them.”

“I will. Just ... wait here. I have a little something for you, too.”

Jake sets down the gift box and walks over to my door, reaching into the pocket of his jacket. Then he comes back with a small, square-shaped box. It’s way too early for a marriage proposal. Quite frankly, we haven’t even discussed that topic, and I don’t know if we ever will. So, I can rule that out. It could be a pair of earrings or a pin. All I know is: when I open the box, I’m baffled by its contents.

It’s a brass key attached to a key chain bearing my first initial.

I’m silent, and Jake can see my confusion. “I went to the locksmith this morning and had him make this for you. It’s a key to my apartment.”

The gift is simple, and its meaning is clear to me. He trusts me enough to open his home to me, even when he’s not there. He’s opening another door for me, in more ways than one.

“I know it’s not much, but ...”

I look at him and give him a smile. “No, Jake. It’s perfect.”

“Yeah?”

I nod. “Yeah,” I confirm, setting the gift down on the coffee table. I move closer to him and draw him in for a kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck as he lowers me to the floor.

Sometime later, sated and sleepy, we lay next to each other under one of the blankets. He’s sound asleep and, as I idly play with the chain around his neck, I come to a decision.

I’m giving him a key to my place.

Ari sat, propped up by an assortment of pillows against the headboard, head tipped back; long sandy strands clung to the sweat on his brow.

Soft amber glows from the setting sun snuck in through the glass panes, covering your naked body with a fading warmth as you laid between his legs. Red lipstick smeared over your lips, cheek and chin; the same red lipstick covered Ari’s thighs in pretty kisses smudging under your fingertips as you kneaded his thighs as you lapped at the skin of his balls, letting out soft, muted moans that made Ari reply with pleased hums and chesty grunts.

Heat burnt across your cheeks and the burning remnants of Ari’s heavy palms on your thighs blended together. The hues of red smeared across your face was complimented by the muted pink of your tongue, skilfully rubbing at the underside of Ari’s balls before your lips parted to suck one slowly into your mouth.

‘’That’s it, Pup,’’ Ari groaned, slow and deep; hand stroking over your hair, his hand settling lightly on the back of your neck; the sudden softness from the heaviness of his hands earlier caused your head to spin. ‘’Such a good pup.”

You whined at the sound of his drawled praise, pleasure filled and throbbing core. Your hips humped at the sheets below you, hopelessly trying to find enough pressure to relieve the ache between your legs. Ari’s chuckle soon brought you out of your head as you peered up to find his gaze locked on you, a smirk pulled at his lips.

‘’Pathetic little Pup, humping the sheets like a bitch in heat. Live for nothin’ but to be used— nothin’ but hole,’’ Ari taunted, hand now gripping the back of your neck, drawing you closer to his sack. ‘’And you fuckin’ love it. You know you do. You’d waste days between my thighs, wouldn’t you, Pup?”

A pitiful whine escaped your throat as you were forced to lower your gaze from his intense stare, trying to sink into the sheets while keeping your mouth and tongue running over his balls.

‘’Tryna’ hide from me, Pup?’’ Ari teased, fingers finding your face to tilt your eyes back to him. ‘’Don’t go shy on me now,’’ Ari continued, teeth on show as he gleamed down at you. ‘’I know that slutty mouth can fit more than one in there; will stuff your mouth full if I have to.``

Ari’s threat made you push yourself, widening your mouth and using your fingertips to manipulate both of his heavy balls to settle against your tongue. Your eyes fluttered closed, moaning softly around the skin, spit gathering at the sides of your mouth; stuffed to the brim and overflowing with everything Ari.

‘’That’s it, get ‘em dripping, pet,’’ Ari moaned into the open air. ‘’You fuckin’ love it,’’ Ari repeated breathlessly as a hand disappeared from your hair and moved to fist at his leaking cock. “Gonna keep you there forever.”

A Dream Come True - Ch 8

Ch 8 - Catching Up and Making Plans

Trevor's got the IDs and the Woodstone Crew gathers on video chat to discuss the events of the day and make plans.Elsewhere, Trevor's still reeling from his confrontation with Ari.

They left Lehman Brothers much later than intended since Trevor needed to sort out a lot of things with Ari. He'd been truthful when he said that he just wanted to move on with his life. While it was easier with David than it was with Ari, the fact was - they can't change what happened, he and Ari had spent the better part of twenty-two years wishing that things could've been different, and at least, they finally got closure.

Trevor felt a lot better knowing that he had been loved, even if he wasn't enough, those loving, romantic moments between Ari and Trevor had been real. They weren’t just manipulations to get Trevor to keep sleeping with him. The memories weren't tainted by Trevor believing that he wasn't loved by the man he was in love with, anymore. Of course, Ari would go on to do something terrible, but Ari hadn't been using him like Trevor had begun to believe after all this time and knowing that helped him through it all.

Still, despite feeling somewhat better and having that final goodbye – because he sure as hell doesn’t want to see Ari again even if he did forgive him – he couldn’t help being lost in his thoughts as they made their way home as if on remote. There was just a lot to process after all this time. While he’s relieved that his darkest thoughts weren’t true, he spent far too long believing them to be true and one afternoon was not enough to get over it. He’d probably be dealing with it for a long time.

Sass kept talking at him about – well, Trevor couldn’t tell you what – the whole way back home. It felt different, this last trip home. Despite knowing that he should be overwhelmed, he feels the sense of peace.

Like he could finally move on.

Maybe he could find someone to fall in love with, someday. Maybe he could have what he told Sam and Bela he wanted. What he always wanted – even if it wasn’t with the great love of his life. Or maybe he could find a real love of his life – his second life.

And it felt great, if slightly terrifying.

“Trevor, you okay?” Sass asks, as they turn the corner onto his parents’ street.

“Yeah, um, I’m okay – better than expected.” He pauses. “Listen, can you not mention the personal conversation with Ari and David to anyone? I wasn’t intending for you to hear that.”

“I wasn’t going to,” Sass states. “I kind of figured that was a conversation I should never have heard or been a part of. I just…”

“You just, what?”

“If you wanted to talk about it – we could. I mean, when I thought you were just friends, I figured it hurt to find out what he did, but after all that? I mean, no wonder you were doing crazier things than normal. I know that it was probably good news – he wasn’t just using you – but well, it’s gotta suck still. And even if you forgave him, and it seems like you did if David ascending is indication…”

Trevor stops as right before his parents’ house. “Sass, I appreciate the offer – really, I do. I just, uh, I need to process everything that happened today before I can really talk about it and – and although I do appreciate what you’re trying to do here, there’s really only one person I’d want to talk to about this.”

“Your brother?”

“Yeah.”

“That’s fair.”

“But not right now, so when we tell the story, let’s just leave the romantic relationship issues out of it, okay?”

“Okay.”

They finished their walk up to the house where Trevor doesn’t hesitate to just walk in, despite Sass giving him a look.

“Hey, look who’s finally back,” Flower greets them from the couch in the living room. Jeremy is beside her and it looks like they’re on video chat with the other ghosts, Sam and Jay. It’s interesting that they’re all in different places and still chatting. Pete from his family’s place, Steph from hers, the rest at the mansion, and them at Trevor’s parents’ place.

“I texted you guys updates along the way,” Trevor says, putting up his suit jacket and rolling up his sleeves. Of course most of those texts had been only a couple of words. Just enough that they – Jeremy or his parents – wouldn’t worry.

“Why is Sass wearing a suit?” Alberta questions.

“Because this one decided that I needed to ‘fit in’ and put me in a monkey suit,” Sass complains as he tosses the jacket on the bench with his tie that he’d taken off on the train.

Trevor gives him a look because he should be taking better care of the suit, and says, “Personally, I think suits suit you, and yes, fitting in is very important.”

“Uh-huh, how’d things go?” Jeremy questions as Trevor puts Sass’ jacket up, too, before sitting beside him.

“We got what we needed and…”

“… we helped David get sucked off,” Sass finishes and then, grimaces at the laughter in the room. The older ghosts don’t laugh because they haven’t been brought in on the joke, but Sass knows now. To avoid the embarrassment, Sass goes to change.

Jeremy nearly chokes. “David was there – as a ghost – and you helped him move on?”

Trevor nods. “Yeah, apparently, what happened with me when I died was the reason that he was a ghost.”

Jeremy raises his eyebrows at him as if wondering if there was more to the story. Knowing that he would be detailing the story later, Trevor gives him a look that says ‘not now’ and Flower interrupts to say, “Okay, you two can’t agree on anything, but you can read each other’s minds?”

“We can agree on things,” Trevor states.

“Just not always.”

“Or more like rarely.”

“Once in a blue moon.”

“If that blue moon comes like once every millennium,” Trevor offers.

“Nah, it comes more than that.”

“I don’t know – I mean, when was the last time –”

“You didn’t answer my question,” Flower states.

“It’s a twin thing, Flower,” Jeremy states. “As I tried to explain on the ride to your brother’s house, there’s certain things about being an identical twin that leads to things like being able to read each other but doesn’t necessarily mean that we are going to agree on everything or anything really. T and I have always been like exact opposites – so we argue a lot.”

“Speaking of brothers, how was your trip, Flower?” Trevor asks, deferring the conversation as Sass returns dressed in something more comfortable.

“It was great – I was just telling everyone that I think I’m going to help my brother – well, his grandkids – with the family business. He’s got a farm.”

“That’s fantastic.”

“Did everything go alright? You said we were all set in your … texts, but…”

Trevor smiles. “We’re all set.”

“That’s fantastic!”

“Yep.”

Of course, there were questions about everything and a lot of catching up to do despite them only being separated for about a day.

Apparently, Flower wasn’t the only one making plans. Alberta had already begun making plans to sing with her sister’s grandchild, Alicia, once she could reach out to agents. Steph would be finishing high school, and eventually going to college. Isaac wants to be a guest history teacher. Pete wants to be involved in travel, but he’s not sure what. He is, however, planning to move to Philadelphia with Laura, wanting to be as involved as he can be in his daughter’s and grandson’s lives. Thor wants to sail and fish. He’d probably need some help with getting that off the ground and would stick around Woodstone for a while that and hopefully help Bjorn ascend so he wouldn’t feel guilty about being gifted with life when Bjorn wasn’t. Hetty, naturally, did not want to leave and instead, would assist Sam with the B&B.

“That leaves you two,” Flower says, glancing over at him and Sass.

“I’m probably going to hang around here for a while and then, I don’t know – travel a bit?” Trevor suggests. “I need to find myself and nothing says, ‘find yourself’ like a road trip.”

“Sass?”

“Uh, you know, I – I don’t really have a plan right now,” Sass says. “I figure maybe I could hang around the mansion or maybe join you on your road trip?”

Trevor laughs. “You’ve been complaining for twenty-two years about having to deal with me – now, you want to go on a road trip with me?”

Sass shrugs. “Maybe I’ve learned a lot about you today and maybe…”

Trevor shakes his head. “I didn’t say no – I’m just surprised. I’ll think about it.”

Sass nods. “Figure I’ll hang out at Woodstone for now. At least it’ll give me a chance to go see Shiki.”

Trevor nods. That makes sense.

“We’d be delighted to have you,” Jay says, gleefully. “When do you plan to return?”

“Well, we have the IDs now…” Trevor glances at Flower and Sass. Technically with the ID, Flower didn’t have to return to the mansion, and they could just send the stuff with Sass.

Flower is giving him a look like she might not want to return, especially since her plans don’t really include Thor, and Sass hadn’t exactly sounded like he wanted to return anytime soon (after being stuck there for 500 years, that makes sense).

“You guys don’t want to come back?” Alberta questions.

“Oh! You have to come back. You left so fast,” Isaac states.

“Plus, don’t you want to come to my daughter’s wedding?” Pete asks. “We can have a party that weekend – one last hurrah.”

“That’s a great idea, Pete,” Jay says. “We should do that. Besides, you said that you’d come back.”

“And we’re planning on it.”

“Well, actually…” Flower offers, earning looks.

“Please guys, you gotta have a proper send off.”

“Of course we’ll come back,” Trevor states. He did mean it when he said that he wanted to return, besides after the confrontation with Ari, he should probably talk to Hetty before he lets that be the next thing that keeps him on as ghost the next time he dies. “We just need a couple of days; I promised this one I’d go to the doctor once I got an ID.”

He jerks his head to Jeremy, who rolls his eyes. “Technically, we don’t know what killed you –”

“Obviously, I overdosed.”

“Despite it being obvious – you’re going to the doctor if I have to drag you there myself.”

“I never said you’d have to drag me – I just said that you were the reason that I have to go to the doctor tomorrow.”

“You made yourself an appointment?”

“No, but I’m sure you did when I texted you that I had the IDs.”

Jeremy opens his mouth to probably lie and claim otherwise, when Flower says, “Yes, he did.”

“Thank you, Flower,” Jeremy says, giving her a look.

“You know you can’t lie to me,” Trevor states. “Besides, how would you explain an early morning appointment to me – the morning – we call for one.”

“How did you –”

Trevor smiles, “I got a text.”

“Of course you did.”

“Anyway, we’ll be back at the mansion in a couple of days,” Trevor states. “Plenty of time to make the wedding and have one last hurrah.”

Everyone agrees and thus, they spend the rest of the conversation talking about their one last hurrah.

Later, much later, because Trevor kept pushing off being alone with Jeremy and having to talk about his issues with Ari and what happened that day. Yet, he knew that they wouldn’t go to bed with discussing it.

So, after they said goodnight to everyone else and changed, Trevor told him the full story of what happened at Lehman Brothers with Ari and David. It surprised him that Jeremy didn’t ask any questions, and he finds himself looking at Jeremy curiously when he finishes.

“You don’t seem surprised.”

Jeremy hums. “Well, honestly, I always thought he was a bastard – still do – but I didn’t think he was that much of a bastard that he didn’t have some level of feelings for you, I just assumed they weren’t enough. And since he never actually told me, it was just my assumption that he’s not a sociopath. Although I’m not terribly convinced.”

“Yeah, if it had been how I thought it was then he definitely would be.”

“But thankfully, it wasn’t.”

“Thankfully?”

Jeremy shakes his head. “T, you might be a mess right now, but if he had been just using you like we both thought and assumed with no feelings whatsoever, you’d be a wreck. And I didn’t want that for you, so I am thankful that he did have feelings for you. That it was real.”

Trevor nods. “Me too. I can’t tell you how broken-hearted I was ever since the watch thing. I was a wreck – I tried to play it off, find other things to distract me at the B&B and trying to distract myself with Sam, get involved with Bela and then, messing around with Hetty… but I was an absolute wreck because before that – it was just an accident, and I never got to tell Ari how I felt because I was a chicken, and I could imagine that it meant something – I went back and forth on that. When I was upset or feeling down, I let those horrible thoughts that he was just using me invade my mind, but when I was feeling good, I’d remember those trips to the cabin, the domestic bliss of life at my condo, and the fun games that we’d play at the office…”

“You two were an HR nightmare, weren’t you?” Jeremy interrupts because he likely doesn’t want to hear those details.

Trevor laughs, “Yes, we were. Especially since we never locked the door…”

Jeremy laughs. “Yeah, you two probably have some sort of ‘risking getting caught’ kink, don’t you?”

“Definitely.” Trevor sighs. “But that was before I knew about the lake – I couldn’t blame them for my overdose, but when I found out about the lake – the only thoughts I had whenever I thought about Ari were those deep, dark thoughts and I had no one to talk to about it.”

“But Flower knew…”

“I didn’t know she knew and the thought of telling any of my ghost family was utterly terrifying. I didn’t feel like I could trust them, not really. Not about Ari.” Trevor shakes his head. “Anyway, I just – that’s it. David’s gone, and I actually said goodbye to Ari and meant it. It feels – I don’t know how it feels, I’m so lost.”

“You need more time to process and I’m here for you while you figure it out.”

“Thanks, J.”

By the time we get back to mine and Anthony's place it's pretty late and with it being so quiet i assume court and Anthony are asleep, while ari goes into the bathroom to remove her makeup I put away our clothes, separating the dirty from the clean and then I text Cass letting him know I'm back and I'm gonna work on some of the songs and replies instantly saying thank you and to call him if I need any help and the bathroom door opens and my baby comes out in all her natural beauty and before she's finished changing into her pajamas, I step behind her and wrap my arms around her waist "you are so goddamn beautiful as I whisper in her ear ,kissing her neck, cheek a.d temple

There's a blush on her face as she leans back into me " thats cute, I look like trash and you know it says Ariana "mmm nah I can't say I agree as I shake my head, letting her pull one of my shirts over her now naked form "see I know that you're breathtaking with and without all the extensions and makeup, I know you like gettin all dolled up and I'm here for it but your natural look will always be more beautiful to me says mercedes and her eyes get a little teary and she does a small skip over to me to crash her lips onto mine, her fingers curling into my hair before she pulls away, at which I can now see the tears that had escaped

20 minutes later they all make it here and as soon as they get in the studio, I give them hugs and say "man won't lie, I missed yall crazy asses, the vacation was nice, it was good for me and ari and our relationship but it was a little too much drama for my liking, 1st aris dad hates me the the whole bs with fuckboy but it's all good cause now I can get back into my music for real For real says mercedes, Megan and cardi cheer, cardi saying "put that work in and fuck them haters baby says cardi and with a chuckle ,I show them the songs Cass finished and they loved them and once we finished listening to them I pulled up the song I was telling them about and they instantly fell in love with the song

Soon as we finished the song, G turns to Mr and asks "what do you wanna name this says g and it goes quiet ,everybody looking at me expectantly until I say "what about humble beginnings says mercedes and they all nod and hum in approval and after working some more we eventually finished the rest of the tracks for the album: humble beginnings, overdose, the fighter, skippin, talking to the moon and change and for a while we're just in here talking and laughing, they tell me about their first dates and shit and thank me for introducing them ,Bruno and cardi also tell me they plan on making a song together and when they show me some of the lyrics I get excited

As the time passes, G ends up lighting a blunt and passing it between himself, Bruno and Megan, I opt out since it's been a hell of a long time since I got high and cardi says she just don't feel like smoking right now but she accepts the Hennessy I offer and for a while we just mess around with music, me and g end up coming up with some lyrics for a song we plan to release together but it'll probably be a minute since he's working on his album and I'm about to release mine and he explains to us that the song talks about a number of things: love, drugs, addictions in general "ayo this deep as fuck man, won't lie as we dap each other and bro hug before he goes to sit back down

Megan moves onto his lap and presses a kiss to his lips, telling him she likes the song and u can admit they cute together, all that new relationship glow on them, the same shit I see with cardi and Bruno every once and a while ,passing thr blunt back to G, Meg asks the million dollar question "so mercedes do you know what you're gonna name the album says Megan and once again, everyone looks at me waiting for the answer and I say "not sure yet I've been brainstorming ideas but none of them match my vision for the album y'know says mercedes and they all nod and agree and cardi says "we can help you figure a title out if you want says cardi and as she said that the perfect name for the album popped into my head

I popped up and pointed at her saying "I got it, you're a fucking genius cardi thank you says mercedes and they all look confused and motion for me to tell them and holding in an excited smile i say "feelings, it's perfect for the album because with each song it conveys a different emotion I felt at one point in my life says mercedes "oo, you smart man says G as he nods to me, ashing the blunt he'd been smoking and I nod "I fuckin know right like shit came out of nowhere says mercedes and they all laugh and Megan shakes her head "I think she got contact high says Megan but I wave her off as I look at the clock "damn yall it's late late says mercedes and they all lean over to read the time that reads 3 in the morning "should probably head home says mercedes

Agreeing, they get all their stuff and I see them out, making sure the door is locked behind them and grabbing one of those vegan brownies Ariana keeps Around and I make my way back upstairs to my room, freezing in the doorway, Ariana looks from the bright tv screen to me and I shove the last of the brownie in my mouth like I didn't do anything "woow ,not only did you eat one of my brownies but you didn't even bring me one says Ariana as she pouts and looks back to the screen and without saying anything, I take off downstairs to grab the package of brownies and two waters before going back to my room and sitting behind Ariana and I wrap my arms around her and set the brownies on her lap and grab one of the switch controllers from her

"So, why you up as I ask, selecting my smash bros character and Ariana scoots closer to me, her back leaning into my front as she bites her brownie "I had a bad dream and couldn't get back to sleep says Ariana and I frown instantly, resting my hands on her thighs "I'm sorry, I wasn't here when you woke up as I then place a kiss on her shoulder and her fingers lace with mine and she moves her head to kiss my cheek "it's okay, it wasn't that bad anyway says Ariana "you wanna talk about it as I ask just as her character kills me and my girlfriend gets excited and jumps up ,throwing her controller at me ,she does a goofy little victory dance and I laugh out loud ,falling back onto the bed

"You suck baby as she teases ,practically jumping on my lap, her legs on either side of mine "you mean as hell as I cross my arms with a pout and that just makes her laugh at me and she leans down, her head on my chest "hey guess what as she sits up and I look into her brown eyes "you suck says Ariana and Rolling my eyes, I push her off me, picking up the pack of brownies and sitting back against the headboard "awe baby, I'm sorry says Ariana as she crawls up towards me, draping herself over my lap "I love you says Ariana as she pouts and kisses my cheek "yeah i love you too says mercedes

After another kiss we play for an hour or two, me making sure i beat her at least once and then we get off and get back in bed before going to sleep, I text Cass that I finished the rest of the tracks and came up with the album name and then I put my phone back on the nightstand and cuddle into Ariana, the second she cuddles closer, I let sleep take over and hours later I wake up to aris alarm going off and I lean over to turn it off and Ariana moves shifts while lying on me ,her arms tightening around my body "uhn uhn ,wake up baby girl, yo alarm just went off as I gently shake her and Ariana groans "leave me alone says Ariana as she whines

Laughing, I move from under her and stand up "if you get up now ill have time to give you some in the shower as I step in the bathroom and I hear her rushing after me and I know that worked and of course I do as I said, making sure she's satisfied before leaving her to get clean, as I'm getting dressed she comes into the closet and drops her towel, massaging lotion into her skin and then getting dressed, like usual we end up matching and she pulls me to the full length mirror to take a picture of us and as soon as she's ready to go we leave out, before heading to the studio Ariana stops at her place and gets toulouse, claiming she really needed her baby so I make the argument that I want my buddy too and I grab Myron

Then we get hers and Courtney's Starbucks and finally get to the studio and we maje it to the label and we all split up, kisses exchanged between us, me, ant, and Myron head towards the studio and the girls and toulouse head to aris meeting for her upcoming album and once in the studio I greet scoot and Cass, Anthony doing the same before sitting next to scoot on the couch and I find my place in one of the rolling chairs at the sound booth and tell them "aye, so did yall listen to the rest of the tracks that I sent last night says mercedes and they both nod and scoot says "hell yeah, I was actually just talking to Cass and he said you already have a name for the album says scooter

"Yessir ,came up with it last night while I was talking to G, Bruno, cardi and meg, won't lie may have been second hand blazed but that's beside the point so I was thinking we should name it feelings since you know with each song on the album it conveys feelings that I at one point felt during my life says mercedes and eyebrows raise on all three of the dudes faces, suprise setting In, either its at me having been a little high or the album name and once they gather themselves, Anthony says "wow I knew this album meant a lot to you but I didn't think it meant THAT much to you, I mean you put a lot of thought into this huh says Anthony

I nod "I mean yeah, I really want to give the fans a glimpse of why I am the way I am like before I talked about my journey in all this and a bit of my past but I figured I could always be a little more open and honest with them and this is how says mercedes and they all nod , interested and on board with my thoughts, scooter and Anthony then bring up the topic of releasing the album whether or not I want to do a party, a streaming session on IG live or if I just want to release it and have a small get together of the people who contributed and a couple of my friends and surprisingly they also bring up the idea of touring, I honestly wasn't expecting that topic to come up while we're talking about releasing my first album

Scooter tells me it means my hard work paid off and with me having put out so many songs and done all the promotion and performing I have, apparently there's a high demand for me to tour and Anthony teasingly tells me I would know that if I used my social media, my fans ask all the time, I mean he's right, I'm not all that active and scooter ends up having to step away for a call yelling us he'll be right back so we pause the conversation then my phone buzzes and I pull it out ,opening the Twitter notification

I mess around with Arianas fans in the comment section until scooter comes back in abd we pick up where we left off and it's while we're discussing the album cover that the girls walk in, toulouse almost instantly heading over to lay beside Myron and I smile amusedly when they both collapse on the couch, Courtney throwing her legs on Anthony's lap and Ariana looks around at all of us and asks "what're we talking about says Ariana and I lean forward in my chair "we really just going over the details for the album and tour ,couple album cover ideas says mercedes and court asks "ooo did you come up with the name for the album and tour says Courtney

"Mhm, I'm namin the album feelings and the tour well, I don't have a name for it but I kind of have an idea for the tour scoot as I look at the man with a small smirk and he looks up from his phone, with an intrigued nod, he motions for me to keep going so I do "well if it's okay with aris people I was thinking we could do a joint tour for both of our albums, like I know you said you weren't sure about touring for this one bit I figured since it's my tour you could open for me, it'd be dope you know says mercedes and suddenly I stand up, more ideas Hitting me as I speak "like ,you choose a few of your songs and maybe your set ends with our song off yo album and then I cone out and we sing one of the ones off mine as my intro, damn the fans would love that and it would be so much fun says mercedes

My eyes eventually pans to everyone else and I see their amused smiles and Ariana and scooter are looking at me like I discovered the first diamond though "baby as Ariana stands ,walking over to me and grabbing my hands "that would be so fun says Ariana and scooter nods "it does sound pretty dope, Ariana are you cool with opening for mercedes tour says scooter and the short Italian frowns "of course I would, like she said I wasn't sure if I was going on tour anyway so this would be a good way to do it but like also chill too, it's going to be work but it's harder on the person headlining says Ariana and mercedes eyebrows raise "yeah no that doesn't sound fun anymore says mercedes

Everyone laughs at me and brushes my comment away, instead further discussing the tour since we all agree that we should do a joint tour and afterwards we go over the final details for my album and decide to release it the night after tomorrow since Ariana drops her album Tomorrow, I let scooter know I'd rather do a live listening session when it drops since I've done a party with every release I've had so far but Courtney and Ariana both make plans to celebrate tomorrow night and with all their excitement filling the room and the final plans for the album and tour being done, I get excited too, I can't wait for this album

Arianas leg shakes, her hand clutching mine a little too tightly "Bae tou keep squeezin my hand that and I'm gone have permanent nail marks on them says mercedes and Ariana grimaces, quickly raising it and kissing the back "baby I'm sorry says Ariana and I wave it off and ask her what's wrong which causes her to look down, leg bouncing again "hey tell me what's goin on as I grab her wrist and turn her to me a little, it takes her a minute before she meets my eyes and I can see the nervousness in those brown orbs and I then remember her telling me how scared she was about moving forward and gripping her hands in mine, I tell her "take some deep breaths babe says mercedes and Ariana does

"It's okay to be happy, like it's okay to be scared, just know that this as I bring our hands to my heart "we a forever thing says mercedes and not even a second later she's leaning forward and kissing me "I love you says Ariana "I love you too as I smile brightly "and I love the fact that we're about to move in together as my words and smile bring one on her face and for these few short minutes, I don't see the tired in her eyes nor feel it in my own body and the last couple of weeks have been insane, fir one Ariana dropped positions and the night after that, I dropped feelings and with the album being based around such a complicated concept: my feelings, I wanted to make the art fir it simple

After a couple of different ideas, I decided to go with something that appeared to be worn but still functional I guess which also speaks to myself and my feelings and as agreed on, me and Ariana did a joint Instagram listening party for, which was incredibly fun, with that we've also been doing an insane amount of promotion for it: interviews, performances, photoshoots and of course we've Been in back to back meetings for the tour and seeing as I've only been an opening act, I had no idea how incredibly hard this whole thing would be, we had to confirm the set list which, believe it or not ,took some time (pleasing the label is a lot harder that I thought)

Then there was choosing a theme or general vibe, holding auditions for dancers, getting venue confirmations, securing tour buses a d flights, wardrobe, more promotion and by the second week I felt like I was going to die of exhaustion, having Ariana by my side definitely made it all the more better but she was just as tired, only difference being she was used to it and a bit of a break came when we finalized things with our real estate agent and picked out furniture for the house, with it being move in ready, as soon as we sign the paperwork the furniture store will ship everything there which is what we're on our way to do now and the building looks exactly like some white picket fence house

Except there's a sign outside in the lawn with the company name and number on it and I get out and round the car, pulling the door open for her and giving her a hand out, together we walk up the path and into the place, my eyes scan the small open area for the woman we've been dealing with but I don't see her, instead this guy walks up to us "hi you must be mercedes and Ariana, I'm Dalton says Dalton and quirking an eyebrow , I hesitantly shake his hand, Ariana doing the same "sorry for the confusion, Janet had to cover a last minute open house and asked me to get you guys settled with your paperwork says Dalton

He waves for us to follow him, sitting down at a desk and us across from him as he digs through the drawers he makes small talk "not to make things awkward but, I'm a huge fan of both of you as his eyes land on my girl "miss grande I've been following your music since yours truly says Dalton and my eyes narrow at him, he trying to Flatter her or somethin, we just here to sign papers bruh, hurry it up "awe thank you, I love meeting fans says Ariana and I breathe in deeply "yeah thanks says mercedes and noticing the not so neutral tone I use, Dalton nods and slides the papers across to us, I pick them up, holding them between myself and Ariana as I read and the guy decides now is the time to talk ,most of his comments directed at Ariana

Sadly it takes me a minute to read through it so I end up listening to the truthfully pointless conversation, it's rally just talk about her music and the house and when I reach the end ,I pick up two pens from the little basket and hold one out to Ariana "everything looks good, the exact papers we went over with Janet as I tell her, trusting me she nods and takes the pen and I give her a reassuring smile at the look she gives me and she's quick to sign her name on both spots then I hand the papers back to Dalton and he stands up with them "give me two seconds to get copies and grab your keys says Dalton

The second he's gone, Ariana is bouncing in her seat, excitement now the cause of her movements "we have a house together says Ariana and mercedes chuckles "shits crazy, like I've never owned a house before and my first one is with you says mercedes and Ariana smile brightens, eyes suddenly glistening with tears ,she's kissing me in seconds and I return it then pull away with a hum "what was it you said, I ain't tryna sign no lease, I'm just gon make you my home says mercedes and Ariana nods "technically speaking that's still true, you were my home long before you asked me to move in with you, that place is our house, you're my home says Ariana with another quick kiss to my lips

This woman could kiss me forever and I'd die happy "oh shoot as a thought hits me "you get the keys and papers from him and ima call the furniture person, hopefully they can have some stuff in the house after rehearsals says mercedes and she nods in understanding and I stand up, pulling my phone out and calling them, it rings and rings before the lady answers, it takes a minute for her to pull up our purchases and other information and once she has it I confirm with her what I want brought in today and what can wait until a later date and since appliances and stuff are already in the house I just tell her to bring the master bedroom, living room and dining room furniture and she tells me it'll be a couple hours but that it should be done by the time we get home later tonight

"Alright, thanks so much, have a good day and I'll make sure someone is there to let you in says mercedes and when I hang up, I shoot Courtney a text and ask if she minds chilling at our house while the furniture is moved in and she's quick to say yes (enlisting Victoria as well) looking up ,I see Ariana walking over, keys twirling around her finger "oooo" while giggling at my reaction, Ariana reaches forward and grabs my hand ,with a tug she pulls me closer and kisses me "wanna go see it again says Ariana "you know just as well as I do that we can't, gotta drop the keys with court and vic then go to rehearsals says mercedes and Ariana pouts but nods and we leave out

"Oh here says Ariana after we're in the car, a white card in her hand "Dalton says to call If there are any issues says Ariana and with narrowed eyes, I look at the card, picking it up and twirling it around "if there are, I'll call Janet which I'm sure he knows, dude just wanted an excuse to give you his number says mercedes and Ariana frowns, eyes on the card then me "you know I wou- says Ariana "I do as I squeeze her hand "I ain't worried baby girl, I promise says mercedes and on the drive, funnily enough, both of our songs come on the radio: positions and no bs, we end up recording each other and posting it on our Instas, the comments blow up with how cute we are and about the songs

After we give one if the house keys to Courtney and Victoria, we go from their hotel to the rehearsal venue, our driver pulls to the gate and I roll the window down so security can see us and we're driven to the back and the second we're inside I can hear the faint sound of Arianas song and I already know Scott and Brian have her backup dancers practicing "hey says Ariana as she stops outside the door "I'm gonna change really quick, tell Scott and Brian I'll be out in a second says Ariana and with a 'cool' response, I make my way through the building to the stage, the music is much laoder in here but I can still hear Brian calling instructions to the dancers while Scott is on stage with them

Stopping at his side has Brian glancing over at me, a soft smile hitting his lips "bout time you got here, please tell me ari is with you says Brian "Yessir, she just changin, give her a minute says mercedes and he nods "so are you both sure you're up for choreographing mine and aris dancers, cause I can have scoot and someone else in a says mercedes and his hand smacks my shoulder "we'll be fine, aris only dancing to three songs anyway, on of which is with you and you're only doing three so it's practically a piece of cake says Brian and when he squeezes my shoulder reassuringly, I nod, he's got it, I don't doubt that and some hours go by of them practicing for Arianas set, her having long since joined them

After which I simply removed my hoodie and chains and joined my dancers on stage and most of my dancers were simple and easy to follow, with me breaking off to interact with the crowd and sing, while all of the dancers are great, it seems a few of them are struggling with making it their own and even though myself and Brian stop them occasionally to tell them to loosen up and personalize the dance, it's like they keep reverting back to the basic choreography step by step and I sigh, pushing my hair back on my head then waving my hand "whoa whoa, hold up as I call ,the music cutting and the dancers stopping "yall killin it, it's just- I really need yall to spice this up man, anybody can copy some dances

A real dancer knows how to deliver and present themselves and I know fir a fact yall real dancers right says mercedes and shouting their agreement, I motion for the music to start back up and Brian gives me a nod, as the music starts back up, I dance and keep my eye on them and halfway through I stop, hopping off the stage to watch them "yeah okay as I clap as the music fades "now that's what I'm talking about, lookin like the kind of backup I need on this tour says mercedes and s few of them laugh as someone comes to stand beside me "yall take ten and we'll start with tio when yall back says Anthony and nodding, they all break off and I turn to my side "sup man says mercedes

Anthony nods in reply, eyes trained on his tablet "so wardrobe has just been confirmed as well as the guest appearances you want, just lookin to secure the last two venues and we're good to go says Anthony and I move closer and scan the tablet "is that really it, damn so that's what, couple weeks says mercedes "mhm, just about two months says Anthony, damn and my first headlining tour in two months, all the planning, I don't have, with how long it was taking it seemed like there was more time for me to process it and I don't allow myself to start doubting though, one: I'm Finna kill this whole tour, I been ready for it, two: Ariana Is going to be with me the whole time, our friends on and off with us and three: I have an incredible support system

"You good says Anthony and pulling myself from my thoughts, I look over at Anthony "yeah yeah I'm good, let me know when you wrap everything up says mercedes and we do a quick handshake and he smiles "course bro, now get back to ya lil twirlin says Anthony "fuck you as I laugh, heading back on stage while he goes off somewhere and just like with Arianas practice, we go on for some hours, it's not perfect just yet but with our last couple rehearsals I'm sure they'll get it and saying bye to everybody, me and Ariana practically rush out of the venue, it wasn't too long ago that my phone blew up with texts and voice-mails, Courtney and Victoria were gushing over the house and the furniture we chose and the furniture guy told me they were done

Though I am still expecting one last confirmation today, luckily for us, Victoria and Courtney have some style and eyes for design, the set up of all the furniture is perfect: extravagant and homey "damn as I nod in approval "this place looks nicer than when they had it staged says mercedes and Ariana chuckles, eyes taking in everything "aye vic as I call ,the woman responding with a what from the living room "you grab what I asked you to says mercedes and the sound of her feet thudding against the floor gets closer until she's in the doorway "in the fridge says Victoria and I nod ,sliding past Ariana toward the kitchen, her and Victoria following along with Courtney who'd joined them

"Congrats by the way, this place is super nice says Victoria "girl yes, I already packed my room so when I stay over there won't be any problems says Courtney "it's the one at the end of the hall, by the bathroom says Courtney. Figures she'd choose one of the rooms with doors to the backyard and Victoria's comment makes it clear she's not for that "oh hell no, why you get the best room says Victoria and I frown, pulling down four glasses "best room is obviously the theater and soon to be my game room says mercedes "no as Ariana pauses as I pop open the champagne and sparkling cider and pour it "the best room is that big ass closet, sheesh says Ariana and we all laugh at that, can't expect anything else from her

I wave my hand "alright alright, instead of arguing about all the rooms, let's toast to mine and Arianas new home as I set a glass in front of each girl, making sure not to mix Victoria's up with the others "to yall bein all cute and makin moves says Victoria raising her glass and Courtney does the same "yep, despite all that hate as she shares a look with Victoria and I know they're talking about all that Pete shit and he been real quiet lately though so I'm not worried, not that I was, it was just annoying and our glasses clink together before we all take sips, Ariana being the first to reach for the bottle for a refill

Victoria is quick to ask about the tour, with her being one of the special guests, me and Ariana ask to stop by for a couple of shows, she was there for a few meetings since we want her appearance and the other guests to come off as unplanned we literally aren't planning for it and neither she or the other guests have rehearsed so it'll be as spontaneous as possible and as we're talking my phone buzzes and I step away to answer, the guy on the other end letting me know my deliveries are in progress, about an hour away so I spend that hour hanging with the ladies, that is until Victoria has to leave for her studio session and Courtney too, so she can get ready for her date with Anthony tonight

Literally the second after they pull off ,the horn sounds from outside and I start bouncing in my spot "aye as I nudge Ariana "aye as she looks up when I nudge her again "I got a suprise for you says mercedes and instantly Ariana pouts "baby, no says Ariana and nodding, I grab her hand "I know you don't like when I spend money on you but this is- nah this ain't the last time, you my queen and ima drop bands on you as much as I want, besides you gon love this says mercedes and her pout remains as I pull us outside, just in time to see my car being lowered off the ramp "ooowee, that bitch fire as I cover my mouth with my fist, grinning hard as hell

First big time purchase with my money and it was well worth it and quickly, I thank the guys who dropped them off ,accepting the keys and giving them a tip and as they pull off I turn to Ariana "you already know which one is yours baby as I click the unlock button on the key fob and the car lights come on and her eyes move from me to the rose gold car and I chuckle at the way she tries to contain her excitement, finally letting it go she says "oh my God baby it's beautiful says Ariana as she squeals, skipping right past me and over to the car, running her hand over it, she walks to the driver's seat and pulls the door open

Unbeknownst to her I had started recording right before she skipped over "I take it you like it as I walk over ,the video capturing the car and now her and the inside of it and looking at me and the camera, she beams "I love it and I love you says Ariana leaning past the camera, she kisses me softly and i end the video the second her lips are on mine, pocketing the phone and grabbing her waist and she hums into the kiss and I smirk, gently biting her bottom lip and tugging it with me as I pull away and when she laughs, the kiss breaks and I laugh too

"Oh shoot, almost made me completely forget about my baby says mercedes and excitedly I step out of the embrace and jog over to my car, this space grey hit different, I'm telling you, pulling the door open, I sit in the driver's seat and run my hands over the steering wheel "I'm Finna tear all these streets up, LA ain't ready says mercedes and I have every intention to until I see Arianas face, she has a hand on her hip and I just know From her expression alone she's mentally telling my dumbass not to be out here getting any speeding tickets or getting hurt and I raise the roof of the car and slide out "okay I won't race it or nothin but I can't drive slow in a Lambo baby, Issa lambo says mercedes

Even though she's definitely dead ass about me not speeding, she cracks a little smile and giggles a little and looking at her smile, I can't help but think about how insanely in love with this woman I am, she's so fucking Incredible and I literally get to call her mine, I'm working on making sure that never changes "hey as Ariana laces her fingers with mine "what're you thinking about says Ariana and with her brown eyes boring into mine, I tell her "you, how much I love you says mercedes "I love you too and our new house and my new car and that we're about to go on tour together and just everything about us...everything about you says Ariana and once again I'm kissing her, cause how could I not after that

She bites her bottom lip "now, how bout we go inside and I thank you for my suprise says Ariana and the look In her eyes has my heart racing and I'm nodding rapidly, her fingers curl in the waistband of my pants and she pulls me with her black into the house and I just can't help but think: this girl gon be the death of me

Chapter 37 title: opening night

Arianas point of view

My eyes scan the bag and it's contents once again as I make sure I have everything for the next four months, I'm sure if I don't have something I'll be able to get my hands on it but I'd rather just have it and tonight is the first show of mercedes tour ,starting right here in California, afterwards we're on the jet for a bit to get to the next show in Vegas and I can honestly say I'm beyond excited to be touring again and this time with my baby, even better, mercedes gets this energy about her after she performs that makes her go crazy in bed, I missed out on it her first tour but this time I plan to take full advantage of it

"Aye uh baby as I look up from zipping my bag ,mercedes comes out of the bathroom with coco in her arms and my eyes trail over her half naked form and I bite my lip and shaking my head, I clear my thoughts to reply, eyebrows raising when I really focus on coco "mercedes, why is she wet says Ariana and mercedes smiles sheepishly "I- I, she fell in the toilet and so I gave her a bath, at least she's clean says mercedes and I walk over to her and take coco from her "how did she get in the toilet says Ariana "the lid was up says mercedes as she was quick to pull a short over her head abd follow after me "in my defense I didn't think she'd climb in the toilet says mercedes

Genuinely I can't help but laugh at her "I don't understand why you don't put the lid down says Ariana and mercedes scoffs, light humor in the sound "last time I put the lid down, you peed on it says mercedes "it was the middle of the night, I didn't have my glasses as I stand up from where I had been crouching to towel dry coco "and you said you weren't going to bring that up again says Ariana and noticing the pout on my face, she sighs "I know I know, this time I really won't bring it up again, I promise says mercedes and with that, she moves around the island to the refrigerator, quickly grabbing a protein shake and closing it, before she can say anything, her phone rings and she pulls it out

"Sup scoot says mercedes, holding the phone up to her mouth the waiting for his reply and a bright smile takes over her lips and I smile as well and seeing her happy is genuinely the greatest sight ever ,very rarely is she not happy but she's usually maintaining a straight face, so when her smile appears it literally makes my heart flutter and I don't think I'll ever not love it and among the things that makes me fall in love with her all over again is her laugh which rings loudly due to whatever it is that scooter says and however, I don't get to dwell on it too long ,as my eyes catch the time on the stove and meeting mercedes gaze, I mouth to her that we need to her up and she nods

Letting her finish her phone call privately, I head back upstairs with coco right behind me, to triple check my stuff and once again finding that i have everything I need, I text Frankie to see where he is. My brother, being the sweetheart that he is ,has promised to watch my babies for me while we're gone, though honestly, I probably won't be able to be without toulouse for long and mercedes will want Myron around at some point as well and as if on cue, she and the dog come into the room and she has a pout on her face that makes me frown instantly, she was just smiling literally seconds ago "baby, what's wrong as I walk over to her, taking her hands in mine

Her e/c eyes flicker down to Myron and back to me "I don't wanna leave my buddy, any of them says mercedes, if my heart could cry it would, this shit is so adorable and mercedes sits down on the floor and opens her arms, both coco and Myron running to her without needing to be called, Myron nuzzles his nose into her cheek while coco licks the hand on her head and I obviously need to capture this moment so I pull my phone out, ignoring the hundreds of notifications for the time being and going to the camera and after the pictures taken ,I pocket it and squat down to mercedes "hey as my hand gently rubs her calf and her eyes meet mine "how bout we have Courtney bring them when she comes to New York says Ariana

For a minute, it looks like she's going to say no but eventually she nods "fine even though that's weeks away as the last bit is mumbled but I still hear it and finally after that, very minor, set back we're ready to leave, after Frankie gets here, he wishes us good luck as mercedes takes our bags to the car "thank you for watching them as I tell Frankie, stepping into a hug with my arms around his neck and we waves me off as we pull apart "don't even worry about it, they're going to have so much fun with uncle Frankie as the last part is cooed out as he picks up toulouse "you know where all their food is right says Ariana and Frankie nods

"And piggy has an appointment with the vet Friday, also remember snape and lily aren't eating th- says Ariana and suddenly a hand rests on my shoulder "babe, I'm sure he knows this isn't the first time he's watched them says mercedes as she tells me with a soft smile placed on her lips and knowing she's right, I nod "okay okay, just call us if you need anything or can't find something says Ariana "I got it I got it, now both of you go blow up the world says Frankie and mercedes hums, chuckling a little after "bad choice of words bro but I get what you mean says mercedes

It's a decent drive from our house to the staples center so I connect to the Bluetooth and start playing some songs and mercedes is speeding despite me glaring at her, she knows I don't like her driving fast in this thing and on the way, she stops at Starbucks and gets the usual stuff we order, before pulling out the lot, I tell her to slow the hell down or ill drive and safe to say that works, she doesn't want me driving her 'baby' so she drives slower to the venue and security let's us into the parking lot and we get out and head inside and the first person we see is griffin, our tour/road manager "Griff as I exclaim, excitedly rushing to him and wrapping him in a hug

He chuckles, hugging me back "yall sure did take your sweet ass time gettin here says griffin as he moves from me to bro hug mercedes "blame mercedes, she didn't want to leave the dogs, she was poutin- as I'm stopped by a hand over my mouth and I glare at mercedes for the second time today and mercedes frowns "don't expose me like that girl, damn, I got a reputation and you out here tellin people I was poutin over some dogs says mercedes and I roll my eyes and pull her hand away from my mouth "bitch bye, everybody knows you're a softie says Ariana "whaaaaaaa says mercedes and pushing her away by her shoulder, I look back at Griffin "we're sorry we're late, where do you need us says Ariana

There's an amused smile on his lips from the interaction he just saw between us and after a short chuckle, he shakes his head "they're waiting for you on stage for sound check, Scott and Brian said they want to run through your last and first songs and by the time you finish up there you'll get changed for meet and greets says griffin and we both nod and do exactly as he says and on the way to the stage we finish our breakfast and speak to the people we pass by, some of them are members of our crew and others backup dancers "aye as mercedes calls the second she's on the stage "it's ma boys, wassup says mercedes

Scott and Brian look up at the sound of her voice, while Brian just shakes his head at mercedes playfulness, Scott jumps up and runs towards mercedes, the man hugging her tightly and her hugging back just as tight then they both start jumping up and down excitedly and in the midst of their girly cheer, Brian walks over and hands me a mic "hey as we hug each other quickly before he walks me to the center of the stage "so we really just want to make sure everything for your last song and mercedes first is perfect as he tells me, signaling for the sound techs to get ready "you both good on your choreo says Brian

"Oh you know it says mercedes as she exclaims breaking into a dance without even blinking and Scott starts cheering her on and more people start to pay attention to her and they Laugh and cheer as well and beside me, Brian smiles, blue eyes looking into my brown ones "she's really excited huh says Brian and I nod, smiling at my girlfriend again "yeah she is, I'm just glad it's bigger than her nerves ,she used to let that get to her pretty bad says Ariana "doesn't seem to be a problem now says Brian as his hand gently pats my shoulder then he looks to his brother and mercedes "Aye you two, let's get to work says Brian "oh right right says Scott as he grabs mercedes wrist and pulls her to the middle of the stage

They both focus almost instantly after the sound techs settle the levels for my voice and then mercedes, we run through the choreography for my last song and mercedes first and basically we'll be performing safety net as my outro, I'll interact with the crowd a bit and introduce mercedes, then we'll perform crush as her intro and just like griffin expected, sound check and the run through takes us straight to meet and greet time so mercedes and I head to my dressing room, mercedes has her own but it's pretty much set in stone for us to get ready for these kinds of events together

As my team does my hair and makeup, Alfredo and Jackson record and take pictures of us and when my team is done, they hand me my outfit and I go into the bathroom to change since mercedes doesn't exactly want me to change in front of Alfredo and Jackson and when I come out, I see that mercedes is in her outfit and is looking great like always and we're also matching as usual "ari hey, you mind says Jackson as he asks holding up his camera and I'm quick to tell him it's okay before posing for him

It's while he's taking pictures that I pay attention to the laughter on the other side of the room, looking over, I raise my eyebrows at the sight of my girlfriend playfully yet seriously swatting at her makeup artists hands "nope, uhn uh, I don't do makeup, not tryna have all that on my face while I'm jumpin around on stage as Alfredo laughs ,his camera pointed at my girlfriend as she messes with the lady and dodges her hand with the makeup brush in it and the woman sighs, hands dropping "it's just to help even out your skin tone for pictures says the female makeup artist, stubbornly, my girlfriend shakes her head at which I walk over ,smiling politely at the makeup artist and then looking at mercedes "why are you being difficult says Ariana

"Bae I'm not, I just don't wanna wear all that makeup, that shit is too much says mercedes and my eyebrow quirks "for me, I think you look breathtaking with and without makeup says mercedes "awe, good save as I run my thumb over her cheek softly and kiss just above her eyebrow "now, let her put some foundation on you so you don't look all oily in our pictures says Ariana and mercedes groans loudly, over exaggerating and then slumping down in her seat with a nod to the lady, it barely takes a minute and right after it's done, we're called to go to the meet and greet area and knowing where it is, I sigh and look down at my feet, I love my heels but sometimes I hate walking in them "aye, what's wrong says mercedes as she looks at me concerned

I shake my head "I just know I'm going to hate walking all the way down there says Ariana and fir a second the woman beside me looks at my feet, then me, then back to my feet and then she shrugs and crouches in front of me "piggyback ride it is says mercedes and she's dead serious and it's the cutest shit ever and I position myself on her back and she stands, hands secured underneath my legs so I don't slip and we leave and a number of people smile, wave or chuckle at us as we walk by, I smile back, the faintest blush on my cheeks and the whole time Alfredo and Jackson follow us ,quickly moving to the photoshoot area when we reach the meet and greet spot

It's now that mercedes nervousness reaches it's peak and she sets me down and I notice how her hands are shaking in the slightest "hey as I grab her hand and squeeze "it's going to be fine, in fact it's going to be amazing, you're going to love it and everyone you meet ,their excitement is going to rub off on you says Ariana and she looks into my eyes "yeah says mercedes and my excited nod makes her smile "hey says griffin as he appears literally out of nowhere "you two ready says griffin and telling him yes, we both go over to sit on the couch in front of the dividing curtains, we set the meet and greets up so that's when the fans come in, they can sit with us, we'll talk with them for a bit, take our pictures and then sign one of the three photos that are printed

The first group that comes in is made up of two girls and a guy, one of the girls and the guy are wearing the merch shirts with my face and tour name on it: dream come true and the other girl is wearing the one with mercedes face on it and when her eyes land on mercedes, I see how incredibly nervous she is even more than my girlfriend is and I smile at them, waving them over "hi, oh my God, you guys look amazing as I exclaim, opening my arms to hug them and all three of them get super excited and hug me just as enthusiastically as I hug them and after the hug, they look at mercedes who's already smiling

"What's up yall says mercedes as her words seem to make her excited or just seeing them in general "I can't believe yall here and you are already my favorite says mercedes as she jokes while wrapping an arm around the girl wearing her merch shirt and the girl blushes deeply and hugs mercedes, after the others hug her we all sit on the couch and mercedes rubs her hands together "alright, so I wanna know everything, names, favorite songs, how'd yall get here, expectations, all of it says mercedes and over the course of the next few minutes they tell us just that, as planned we then move to the photo area and take a number of pictures together and they choose the three they like most

We talk some more as all of their copies print and then we sign them and say goodbye and it goes just like that with everyone else who comes in, mercedes gets more and more comfortable with it and by the fifth group she's perfectly fine and seeing how silly and real she is with all of them makes me beyond happy and reminds me of how much I love her especially when one guy came in with his little sister, the girl was about 10 years old and was crushing on mercedes so hard and not only was mercedes super cool with the guy, both of them talking about sports and music, she was so adorable with the little girl, they took the cutest picture together where mercedes kissed her cheek and she blushed like crazy

The entire meet and greet was so much fun, I genuinely missed seeing and spending time with my fans like this and luckily we're able to take a bit of a break before the show starts and in the dressing room we laze around, lying on the couches and snacking on the food they put in there until it's time for me to go up, I do a quick make-up touch and then we leave and going with mercedes backstage, we gather with our dancers and the few crew members who are currently around, all eyes land on mercedes, her arm around my waist and the other hand around Scott's shoulders

"Alright so as mercedes barley spoken and her eyes are already shining with tears "I ain't finna get all emotional, I'll save that for the end of the tour says mercedes as a few of us chuckle "but seriously though I truly truly wanna thank all of yall, I've been on tour before but this is, it's mine you know, it's my dream and each and every one of you are the reason it's come true says mercedes and mercedes eyes move to focus on me "and there nobody else I would rather be doing this with , I love you so much says mercedes "I love you too and I'm so proud of you as I lean up and kiss her, a smile from both of us breaking it

"Now, more importantly, let's make this tour as epic as possible, not just for us but for everybody who's taken their time and money to come says mercedes and while my backup dancers go to the sides of the stage, I head underneath to the rising platform and my girlfriend comes with me, giving me a hand up on the platform "kill it baby girl as she tells me and I'm quick to cup the side of her neck and pull her into a kiss, as the platform starts to rise, I see the sly wink she sends me and giggle ,a bit of the sound is picked up as they turn my mic on and the audience instantly cheering as they cheer it which genuinely makes me giggle again

"How we doin LA as I ask, stepping off the platform as it stops qnd smiling brightly at the louder cheers "welcome to the dream come true tour says Ariana and the beginning of positions starts to play and my dancers make their way up onto the stage and performing and this album especially, feels so incredible, it's always been just as anxiety inducing as it is fun and being in front of this huge crowd, feeding off their chaotically passionate and exciting energy and then hearing them sing along as I sing 34+35, shut up and my hair, part of me wishes I could sing a few more but I am just opening for mercedes though I'm sure she wouldn't bo opposed to me expanding the set list, I want tonight to mainly be about her

With safety net coming on I stop to interact with the crowd a bit, asking rhetorical questions referring to the song, stopping for a couple pictures and then singing "you know you're really something, yeah, how we get here so damn fast, only you can tell me, baby cause you know I'm coming back" and just like we rehearsed, my dancers stay in stage for a bit while I sing but they slowly but surely get towards the exit as the platform lowers "tripping falling with no safety net, girl it must be something that you said, is it real this time or is it in my head, got me tripping falling with no safety net"

This time when it raises, mercedes is standing in the center, the addition of her presence has the audience going crazy all over again, their scream even louder and e/c eyes focus on me instantly as she starts singing "let your guard down girl, you know we came too far now (ooh),it's time for you to play your part now, you know we hit that jewelry store and we gon ball out" as mercedes mimics shooting a ball before coming to stand in front of me, both of us now standing to the left of the stage, her hands find my hip, tounge wetting her lips before she continues

"Ups and downs we had some fallouts, put some ice on you girl, let it thaw out, girl, you're mine, it's safe to say, at the end of the day" and together we keep going, breaking apart to walk across the stage, mercedes squatting to sing to the group of girls in front of her, then meeting back up in the middle of the stage to dance during the break and as the music slows a bit, she stops behind me, hands ghosting over my thighs and hips, one wrapping around my midsection, our bodies leaning in opposite directions just before I sing

"Every time you feel some way, feel a way, never let me run away,run away, my baby, every time you feel some way,feel a way, never let (never let) me run away, run away "and the song comes to an end after the chorus and we're met with screams and mercedes chuckles sounds through the mic, bright eyes trained on the crowd fir a minute then back to me as crush starts and with mercedes being bigger on dancing than me and admittedly better, this song has much more choreo than safety net, it's a very chill song so the dancing flows with it and there are more intimate parts between us

During the performance mercedes made sure to send me reassuring smiles and subtle nods, she'd seen, at rehearsals, how unsure I was of dancing this much, while I can dance as everyone has seen ,I don't dance this intensely so my girlfriend was always there to let me know that I was killing it just like she does now and once it'd over, I don't even think, I just kiss her and it's a quick one but still long enough for the audience to lose it and after a quick thank you to the crowd and a bye, I walk off stage, hearing mercedes chuckle and her saying "I love her ,she's amazing right says mercedes and another round of cheering

Not wanting to miss her performance, I stay right beside the stage as she sings right there next, then: feelings, no bs, focus on you, tio, pony, skippin and finishes with teeth and ending with teeth, it being a mix of calm and hype, makes the crowd even more energetic and I should've told her about that as she obviously doesn't expect when they chant for an encore, at first shocked, her eyes widen but she recovers quickly and jokes about them wanting more, right before climax starts and mercedes tells everyone to get home safely, thanks them for coming and says goodnight then jogs off the stage

The audience becomes a faint sound as I see her walking down the steps ,if I thought her smile before was bright this one could light up a whole damn city and Scott excitedly jumps up and down, his arm around her shoulders as they talk enthusiastically, a couple of her backup dancers hug her and just seeing her so incredibly happy is contagious, the second she's out of the group of people that celebrate with her, her eyes find mine and in no time she rushes over to me and wraps me up in her arms and a shriek of suprise leaves my lips and she pins us around and her excited chatter carries us all the way to the dressing room

"You were so amazing baby as I tell her as my nails gently scratching the nape of her neck and the door shuts behind her and she pulls me in front of her, hands squeezing my hips a little "that is what happens when you have your motivation watching backstage says mercedes and hearing that I'm her motivation makes a dorky little grin spread across my face "yeah as I ask looking down at the necklace she's wearing, it's the one I'd gotten her for Christmas, her initials with the addition of G for grande and I wasn't trying to push the idea of marriage on her especially since it's clear that's what she plans too but I also wanted her to know how serious I am about us getting married

It didn't have to be soon or anything but it'll happen or at least I want it to and her pointer finger curls under my chin and she lifts my head to look at her "of course you are baby girl says mercedes as her lips are now on mine, the kiss, like it is most times, starts off very innocent and really sweet and she applies gentle pressure to my lips and her hand cups my cheek but then I tilt my head in the slightest and she follows suit and it deepens with the new angle and when her tounge darts out to run across my bottom lip I happily allow it to slip inside my mouth and our bodies press closer ,the hand that was on my hip is traveling down to grip my ass and the fingers of her other hand slip under the band of my top

I moan, the vibration courses through the kiss which incites mercedes to move her kisses down my neck and the feeling making me tingle in the best way possible, an all too familiar sensation forming in the pit of my stomach and sadly though the moment is ruined when a knock sounds at the door and we reluctantly pull apart and I huff and mercedes smiles apologetically before pulling the door open "mama grande as her exclamation is instant "mercedes, sweetie you were so good as my mom tells her, stepping through the door, while lovingly rubbing mercedes arm "both of you did so good says Joan as she adds seeing me

I smile and go over to kiss her cheek "thank you mommy says Ariana and as much as I absolutely adore my mom, I get a little agitated when she comes further in the room, obviously she doesn't know that me and mercedes were just heavily making out and neither myself or mercedes would kick her out just so we can have sex but that just means that I'm going to be sexually frustrated until we're alone again "Scooter wanted me to tell you two to get ready, he wants to treat you two to dinner says Joan as she tells us and I sigh, instantly grabbing mercedes attention, instead of saying anything though I slip into the bathroom

Truthfully I know better than to try and fix my situation myself,one: mercedes wouldn't be very happy with me and two: I wouldn't satisfy myself the way she does, still I have to handle the mess that already started to form between my thighs and I change as well and using my hand to cover my bare chest, I step out of the bathroom "baby as I pout at mercedes and tug the end of her sleeve "can I have your hoodie says Ariana "mhm as mercedes is quick to grab the hoodie she wore here and give it to me "are you not changing as I ask pulling my hair from under the hoodie "nah I'm good for now, I'll shower and change on the jet says mercedes

So from there with myself and my mom on mercedes arms, we leave, on the walk out, we say bye to the parts of the crew that work solely at the staples center and wave to the others who will be on the whole tour and surprisingly in the best way, miss y/l/n and Samia are in the car that's waiting for us and miss y/l/n had work and Samia was doing something so they couldn't be at the show so it's nice that they can be here for dinner and admittedly I should've expected that mercedes wouldn't just leave things the way they were after our little make out session at the venue but I let my guard down which means I'm taken off guard when she decides to mess with me at dinner

It starts off normal as ever, we joke with everyone while sipping from our drinks but right around the time that the appetizers arrived, her hand rests on my thigh which I think Nothing of until her fingers brush the insides ,incredibly close to my heat and she probably hadn't known I wasn't wearing any underwear but she quickly finds out and takes advantage of that and from that point on she makes sure to brush higher and higher every chance she gets ,at one point her finger legitimately run through my folds and I honest to God choke on my champagne when she blatantly sucks my arousal off her fingers

Not a single soul in that restaurant, let alone our table knows what the hell she's doing to me and I have to hide my moan by biting my lip and I pretty sure I damn near bruise it with how hard I bite down and the worst part of it all is that she never takes it further than teasing and I'd long since thrown my cares out the window and I am genuinely waiting for her to finger me right now and she doesn't, no she teases me and teases me, all while smiling good naturally at our friends and family and by the end of dinner I'm beyond frustrated and overly needy

Aside from my mom, miss y/l/n and Samia, I say very quick goodbyes to everyone, I'll see at the next stop anyway and mercedes further being an asshole by having multiple short conversations with a few people and then finally saying goodbye and the entire ride to the airport I keep mu thighs pressed together and try my best not to move and luckily security just escorts us to the strip where the jet is and I still can't do anything, instead having to wait until all the bags are put away and the plane is at a decent altitude and the single cabin attendant tells us to press the button if we need anything before leaving the main part of the jet ,the seatbelt sign flicking off moments later

"Alright as mercedes hands smack against her thighs "I'm gonna go shower says mercedes and with a deep frown I grab her hand and pull her back down on the sofa, a huff leaves her lips ad her back hits the cushion and I instantly straddle her Lap and her hands are on my waist with a smug brow Raised at me "to what do I owe the pleasure miss grande says mercedes and I decide not to glare at her, instead running my fingers up the back of her neck and into her hair then gripping in a way that I know is equally as painful as it is pleasing based off the little hiss/moan she gives off "why are you such a tease huh says Ariana

"Me? A tease as mercedes chuckles "I have no idea what you're talking about says mercedes, biting my lip, I look at her with hooded eyes "no as my head tilts a little in feigned confusion as I then grab her hand and guide it right between my legs, moaning at the way her fingers just barely graze my clit and then slip past my entrance "so someone else must've made me this wet then as I grind down into her hand ,biting my lip teasingly and when her jaw clenches slightly and her eyes darken I know I'm in for it which sends yet another rush of arousal straight to my core and in turn onto her hand

Of course I'd never be with anyone other than mercedes but making the comment does exactly what I want it to, makes her fuck me into oblivion and I'm beyond glad that the attendant knows not to bother us then again I'm sure with all the noises I make she knows exactly what's happening and afterwards I lay cuddled up with mercedes side, our chests rising and falling rapidly as we try to catch our breaths and I can't help but think: with opening night being as incredible as this, I can't wait for the rest of the tour
