The funniest thing about the Sohm Al dungeon is that when I did it for the first time I did it with the NPC party- Ysayle, Alphinaud, and Estinien. It was all going swell but I, a dragoon main, CONSTANTLY found myself trying to outdo Estinien??

Its Day 7 of @ygorarepairweek and the prompt I chose for today was 'Stargazing'
I went over this paring a bit more in my arcvmonth post, but thanks to a fellow creator on here, I really like this specific dynamic of RebelFamilyShipping. Shun and Ruri have absolutely no interest in eachother other than being family (of course) they just really love Ute and both want to be with him.
This drawing takes place pre war because I wanted to draw them happy.

The M/tt and Aisha scene right after that is a good summary of what I dislike about their "romance" btw like you're clearly supposed to read it as a heartwarming moment where they connect over something they have in common but all I felt from it is "wait, Aisha had anxiety as a kid? For what? We're only learning about this now to prop up M/tt's feelings?" like it sucks that Aisha as a character in these comics is so empty that the new things we learn about her rn aren't done to make HER feel more developed, it's just done to show why she and M/tt make such a good couple

Lip sync battles
One of my favorite flavors of fanon is that being high-functioning battle strategists and soldiers, the clone troopers would get bored during longer hyperspace treks very easily. To combat this they come up with all kinds of trouble to entertain themselves during these trips, none more so than the infamous 501st battalion.
After one too many explosions in the mess hall and one too many glitter bombs in the officers' quarters, Ahsoka suggests a new form of entertainment in the form of Lip Sync battles. The troopers are intrigued with the idea and after watching a few on the holonet, they were all on board.
Rex was just happy for the peace and quiet that the ship experienced for the next week as they made their way to their next campaign.
The first battle occurred between Jesse, performing Finesse by Bruno Mars, and Fives, executing Don't Stop Me Now by Queen. The troopers gathered in one of the empty storage hangers and the stage was set, each had about 5 backup dancers, the best costumes they could create with limited resources, speakers, sets, the whole works. Ahsoka and Hardcase acted as the announcers (think a mix between over-excited soccer announcers and the two announcers from Pitch Perfect) and the battalion would judge when it was over.
After the first battle, troopers were signing up to do their own battles and soon there was a steady stream of battles on hyperspace trips. Judging was soon taken over by Rex and Anakin when it became clear certain troopers were bribing others. All the battles were recorded and began to be posted on the social media account Ahsoka had made for the battalion. The videos were immediately a hit and people all over the galaxy loved seeing the troopers outside of propaganda and seeing them as real people.
Other battalions began to take up the tradition and soon there were videos of trooper lip-sync battles everywhere. The ones in the 501st continued to get more elaborate, each stop on leave brought new costumes, sets, props, etc. When Hardcase would be challenged to a battle, Tup would take his place with Ahsoka and he had so much fun that soon it was the three of them announcing.
Eventually, Fives felt cocky enough to challenge Ahsoka to a lip sync battle. The whole battalion was even more excited about this performance because they had yet to see any Jedi participate. The fateful day came and Fives came out strong with a performance of Wrecking Ball by Miley Cirus. Where the wrecking ball he swung on while shirtless came from, no one knows. It was definitely one of the best performances they'd seen, the choreography and set were definitely next level and everyone eagerly waits to see if their little commander will be able to top Fives' performance.
Everyone knew that Ahsoka could be competitive when needed, especially against certain members of Torrent, but they had underestimated her dedication. (Think Beyoncé's 2018 Coachella entrance) Ahsoka delivers a stunning performance starting with Welcome and Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. Anakin and Rex don't even need to vote, it was a knockout and went down in 501st history.
The time comes that Cody and Rex are both pulled into doing a lip sync battle. Their normally composed commanding officers are suddenly transformed into the rival sibling terrors that Alpha-17 still dreams about. No one sees Rex without his helmet for weeks and Cody is hardly seen outside of the designated practice rooms.
Finally, the day came. The 212th and 501st gathered on the Resolute to watch the showdown of the century.
Cody presents a jaw-dropping, show-stopping performance of Umbrella by Rihanna (Tom Holland's battle). There is water dropping from the ceiling, he sporting black fishnets on his legs, and all those years of acrobatic training and spin-kicking droids come into play with this performance. Ahsoka, Hardcase, and Tup are raving and the 501st is suddenly very nervous for their own captain to perform, this was their reputation as a battalion on the line after all.
Rex emerges from the fog (smoke machines) riding a makeshift bantha, wearing a skimpy black top, black skirt, black boa vest, and curly long blond hair blowing in the wind. All the weeks with his helmet on had been spent growing his hair out for this performance and it looks amazing. He performs Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé and ends the battle with him and all his backup dancers bowing to Ahsoka, the only girl on board.
No one can decide who's performance was better so it comes to a draw.

If you don't write Ben as trembling, shaking, tripping over himself, stumbling to his knees for Rey I don't think you actually understand the character as he was in that moment
Rey could have ended that war by taking his hand tbh. If she had taken his hand she absolutely could have convinced him to do anything in that moment. He just killed his master, the man who had been in his head for 30 years, manipulating and destroying him from the inside out. He had no sense of personal identity, just a loose sense of morals and ideals and his obsession with her. She fully controlled him.
Obviously she did what she thought she had to do but I'm only observing. She wanted the death and fighting to stop. I do think if she had taken his hand she could have convinced him. He wanted to bring about peace and balance like his grandfather, he just didn't have all the right tools, like, rey's goodness and a different perspective.
#ben in that 10 minutes between killing his master and losing rey was so overstimulated#not only has he lost the direct link to snoke whos been plaguing him with nightmares and fear#so deeply intertwined from when he was in his mothers womb that ben truly knows no different#but he and rey have fought side by side.. wordlessly communicating through their bond perfectly in sync with each other#theyve both repeatedly killed for each other and saved the others life#what exactly is supposed to happen next? she came to him willingly but does she want to stay?? he needs to get her to stay#his brain is scrambled fried baked whatever#his proposal is Mr Darcy in the Rain Fail Moment but hes not hopeless just hopelessly devoted to her#all im saying is theres a universe where rey sees the good ideas in his head and the chance to change things now hes in charge#leia may have been a princess and politician and luke may have helped save the galaxy#but its ben who frees the skywalker name from enslavement.. anakin was always under the emperor and he was no different#it could have been very interesting to see their tentative union while dropping hints in the last few minutes#that snoke was one of palpys clones. then it wouldn't have been so out of left field in the next movie#and we can get an even better showcase of rey embracing the dark feeling is surround her#palpy is drawing her in this time instead of ben and she doesnt even have to be blood related#I'd actually rather she still was rey of nowhere#but hes manipulating her and bens redemption arc is him saving her.. bringing her back to the light#but showing her how having both isnt so bad.. how being light and dark is ok . how love and anger and fear arent the end of living#so in helping her hes embracing his Light and her Dark and the conclusion is oh actually#this black and white moral structure is inherently fucked and balance is the only true answer to anything#ben solo#rey of jakku#reylo

i think if any one was to write a steddie/vampire chronicles au, steve should be louis and eddie as lestat, the parallels dont need to be explained you get it
and if someone wrote it, i feel they should base it off of the queen of the damned novel, it could be an au retelling the story with steddie as the characters instead of loustat or even an canon divergent au where eddie becomes an vampire after the upside down scenario in the '86, i definitely think it works with the book arc the best, not the movie version
like you get eddie becoming a vampire rockstar for the bit, part of lestats whole motivation was to reach out to louis to warn him about akasha awakening, and lets not forget the reunion after the final concert performance, imagine eddie performing, trying to get out a message for steve 40 years later, then they reunite and its like they never separated, then you have them getting the party back together for a final showdown be it vecna or some other upsidedown entity, i just think itd be so fun
#steve was clearly turned at some point by eddie possibly early in their relationship and post st4#not going to imagine a reason for them to split up bc louis had a lot of resentment for lestat so im not putting myself in that headspace rn#but you can insert whtvr be it immortality being a burden or right person wrong time#im partial to merging the major arc of queen of the damned with the plot of stranger things post s4vecna but i can see the other way working#i dont know if anyone has considered this at all but its eating my thoughts atm#i know it seems random but ive spent the whole morning talking about the vampire chronicle books and i love anne rices writing#and like the parallels definitely aren't completely in sync but it would be a great concept#specifically the books tho the movies dont do a great job of portraying louis and lestats connection and ive not seen the show#but its a different story so it doesnt have the same story beats that would fit steddies dynamic#i might just write the van scene in qotd but the whole book is ripe with opportunities for an au#steddie#stranger things#stranger things headcanons#stranger things brainrot#if anyone would be interested in writing this pls let me know#also no one get onto me about my explanation of the books i am paraphrasing an 800page novel
