Our Call as Agents – S1
I don’t think I’ve ever felt more like an agent, a soldier, than now. Whether we’re protesting on the streets, speaking out on social media, having conversations, acknowledging our own complicity, acting as an emergency contact to the protestors, donating, contacting our local leaders, or signing petitions, we are soldiers, fighting for a worthy cause.
And this show is FILLED with quotes that echo the sentiment of fighting for something bigger than ourselves. This show is a great form of escapism, but why not also channel it to encourage ourselves to keep fighting?
Below is a quote from every episode of season 1 that we can carry with us as we fight. I hope to do one of these for every season. Maybe one quote might jump out to you. Maybe the collective twenty-two will. Maybe you have an additional quote from season 1 you’d like to share. Add the quote to the list––or make your own post!
Let’s support each other, not only as fans, but as activists. As soldiers. As agents.
“How will you come at us? From the air? From the ground? How will you silence us this time? How can you? The truth is in the wind. It’s everywhere.” –– Skye, 1.01
“Thousands of suffering people who have never met uniting over a common idea? It’s mind-blowing.” –– Skye, 1.02
“It’s not too late to do the right thing.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.03
“I know you’re tired, but I need your help.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.04
“I’ll tell you what’s wrong with that––an innocent guy might die... for money.” –– Skye, 1.05
“The point of these things is to remind us that there is no going back. There’s only moving forward. You feel different because you are different.” –– Agent May, 1.06
“And that’s exactly what I’m gonna do. I’m not going anywhere. You understand?” –– Agent Fitz, 1.07
“Sometimes you have to just jump in and figure things out.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.08
“People believe what they need to believe to justify their actions.” –– Agent May, 1.09
“We need you to suit up.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.10
“Now get back to work.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.11
“The world is full of evil and and lies and pain and death, and you can’t hide from it. You can only face it. The question is––when you do, how do you respond? Who do you become?” –– Agent Coulson, 1.12
“Try to think of it less of a hand-over and more of a hand-off. You’ve done your part. Now we’ll do ours.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.13
“The girl’s a fighter.” –– Agent Triplett, 1.14
“To hell with any protocols or any code I used to be bound by. We have a long list of questions we need answers for, and we’re going after them ourselves.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.15
“Save it. I don’t want your apologies. I don’t want your excuses.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.16
“You’re gonna suffer for what you’ve done. And I plan on being a very big part of that.” –– Agent Fitz, 1.17
“I don’t know! There’s got to be something here! This means something! This has to mean something! The world needs us!” –– Agent Coulson, 1.18
“It’s also our job to determine right from wrong. Watching someone in agony, searching for the truth, not saying anything––that’s wrong.” –– Agent Coulson, 1.19
“With all the crap we’re facing, this is not the time to pull the ripcord, bail out.” –– Agent Triplett, 1.20
“And you can choose right now to be good. It’s a choice.” –– Agent Fitz, 1.21
“A man can accomplish anything when he realizes he’s a part of something bigger. A team of people who share that conviction can change the world. So, what do you say? You ready to change the world?” –– Agent Coulson, 1.22
Arm yourselves with these words––these ideals, friends. Share more quotes that inspire you, that encourage you to keep going. I hope they help, and I’ll see you on the battlefield, agents.

Rewatching The Hub
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Hub is by far my favorite episode of the early batch and one of my favorites of the entire run of the show. One of the reasons why I like it so much is that I’m a sucker for the “odd couple” trope and here we have two: Fitz and Ward’s adventure with The World’s Most Dangerous Sandwich(tm) - and yeah, some doomsday weapon and Ossetian separatists, whatever - and Jemma and Skye’s Bad Girl Shenanigans(tm) aka Skimmons against the World, The Prologue (and how sad that we’ll have to wait until season 4 for Act I).
On the face of it, sending Fitz - who has failed his field assessment, is not cleared for combat and can’t pass through a door without tripping himself - to infiltrate a warzone undercover is patently insane. They need someone to dismantle the weapon quickly without the design specs, fine. Shouldn’t they have trained combat personnel for these sorts of things? Tsk,tsk.
As it turns out, Fitz is the reason why the mission doesn’t fail right off the bat and he complements and augments Ward’s standard superspy approach every step of the way, surprising him - and maybe himself, too, despite his proud and well earned assertion that he’s every bit the agent that Ward is - with a very cool head under pressure (and cleverness and resourcefullness, but we already knew he had those). Nutritional disagreements aside, they emerge from the mission with a renewed trust, fondness and respect for each other. And yes, I was glaring at Ward very pointedly the entire time.
Despite their excellent job against crazy odds, they still would have likely died in South Ossetia without Skye’s healthy distrust of The System, both in general terms and where Big S.H.I.E.L.D. is concerned. Her skepticism kicks in immediately when they freeze her out of the loop in the name of hierarchy and only grows from there. To her credit, she tries to do things the somewhat “proper” way, first pestering May (good luck with that) and then Coulson. When neither approach wields answers, what’s a passionate young hacktivist supposed to do? Enlist the help of the world’s worst liar - at this time at least - risk everything and hack the System, of course.
And Jemma’s role cannot be overestimated. She’s still under the delusion of being a rule-follower (please) but she takes just as big of a personal risk as Skye, even without factoring the shooting of Sitwell. And without her, Skye wouldn’t have been able to circumvent her tracking bracelet, certainly not in time, and Fitz and Ward would have been captured and/or killed. Skimmons 1, World 0.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The other reason I love this episode so much is that I think it’s the turning point for Coulson, the “company man”.
When Coulson formed the team, he already valued independence and the ability to go off book if needed ('Cause we'll be running ourselves. Picking the ops, making the calls. No red tape). And so far we have seen him going against established S.H.I.E.L.D.’s protocols pretty much every episode. But he still trusted the system, welcomed the safety net of a benevolent background entity ready to assist them if things went south and envisioned his team as a necessary part of the larger whole, certainly not in contrast with it.
But after this episode, he can’t really do that anymore. Big S.H.I.E.L.D. used and callously risked his agents’ lives and kept him in the dark about it. And it’s witholding the very personal information about his recovery. It will take a few more episodes, the memory machine’s torture and the fear of losing Skye, the one team member he wanted on board specifically because she wasn’t S.H.I.E.L.D. (she doesn’t think like us -- exactly) for everything to fully coalesce, but the seeds start sprouting here.
And for the audience, the positioning of Coulson’s unorthodox team as the foil to the monolithic bureaucratic entity that values secrets and numbers more than people - something that was hinted at from the beginning - is now fully in the open. The days of Big S.H.I.E.L.D. as the unquestionable good guy of the show, if that was ever a thing, are already over.
Stuff that crossed my mind:
Coulson in a suit, adjusting his tie, before riding a sledge after escaping Rura Penthe a siberian underground prison, is a big mood.
S.H.I.E.L.D.’s whole infrastructure is based on the hierarchy and compartmentalization of intelligence. Every agent can't have the intel on every mission. Makes the entire organization vulnerable. -- Okay, fine, but if I just fought my way out of an underground Siberian prison, I'd kind of want to know what for. Skye’s advocating for the human element here. And she really wants to learn about stuff.
Everyone's wearing the same suit. Someone tell me why, please. Skye is really not impressed with Big Brother’s lack of fashion diversity. Which is a bit ironic, since her own wardrobe choices will narrow considerably in the next few years.
FitzSimmons fanboying/fangirling over Victoria Hand reminded me of Jemma fangirling over Peggy Carter in S2.
Saffron Burrows as Victoria Hand is so perfectly perfect, why oh why did she have to die after only 3 episodes? Waaaaaaaaaarrrrrddddd!!! *shakes fist*
Did they just leave Skye handcuffed to the wall by her tracking bracelet? Rude.
I really don’t get S.H.I.E.L.D.’s logic. Fitz has failed his field assessment but they send him on a vital, dangerous mission in hostile territory and without extraction? Was somebody trying to get him killed? (Oh! Maybe it’s one of the Chronicoms’ temporal machinations!)
Prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella -- With your homemade pesto Aioli? -- Just a hint. Ah yes. The sandwich of choice among Russian sewer rats. ;)
It’s cold enough to lightly snow but Ward and Fitz are driving an open jeep because...?
Does that mean that you do know something and you can't tell us, or that you don't know anything? Which non-expression is this? -- We know what we're supposed to. When we have more information, we'll react. May, I love you, but if you had waited for more information from the proper channels, you’d be down one engineer and one traitor. Unless she was counting on Skye going off on her own. In which case, that’s one hell of a gamble. Then again, that’s exactly what she’ll do in The Magical Place. Did she learn from this experience or did she just double down?
How long can you hold your breath underwater? Oh no, you didn’t!
He’s being a robot version of himself right now. Not yet, but give it a few years...
I like following the rules. No, Jemma, you absolutely do not. You like following the rules you agree with. Those you don't, you're quite comfortable disregarding.
Get this man a drink! On first watch I was expecting Fitz’s tolerance for spirits to be on the lower end. Until I remembered he’s Scottish.
Skye trolls Reddit. It’s canon.
You certainly have a gorgeous head, don't you? I like men that are about my height, but heavier than me. I don’t know if those field assessments FitzSimmons didn’t pass included undercover work but if they did, I think we can guess which portion of the test Jemma failed the worst.
Despite the temptation, Skye puts aside her lifelong search for her family to save Fitz and Ward. You did good, proto-Tremors. You did good.
If they use the overkill device, everyone on the border's in danger. And that includes Marta and Vlad. Is it weird that I really liked Marta? She had a certain mother hen vibe. The “I will murder annoying foreigners who show up in the middle of a game” type of mother hen, but still...
And now you've destroyed the world's most dangerous sandwich. Congratulations. ROTFL. And no wonder he’s still mourning it the next morning, I don’t even want to imagine what an “odorless” energy bar tastes like.
Our team can go off book because there is a book. A Hub. An organization watching our backs. Except it doesn’t do that with Fitz and Ward, it didn’t have Jemma’s back in F.Z.Z.T., it almost won’t have Coulson’s back when he’s kidnapped, as Hand will be treating the stomping out of Centipede as the real priority, and John Garrett’s origin story as a villain is a refused medevac.
Someday I may have to trust you with a secret and I need to know that you can keep it. Subtle foreshadowing, this is not. Giant neon letters pulsing across the screen would be less obvious xD
I thought there wasn't gonna be an extraction -- All our resources were needed elsewhere. And it's Agent Coulson's team. They didn't need one. You know, maybe if you had told Agent Coulson that from the beginning, they would have gladly provided their own extraction as they eventually did and your precious classified servers would have been safe from “electronically tagged non-agents”. Just saying...
I had Ward's back the whole time. Pretty much saved him from a gang of Russian mobsters and kicked a few guys' heads in. But enough mission talk already. I love how Fitz is visibly bursting at the seams to tell Jemma all about his adventures but checks himself and asks her about her day instead. Nice one, little bear.
I shot a superior officer in the chest! C’mon, you can say it: and it was fun!
The unredacted file about your past. I found it. It really says something that with everything that was going down and his initial anger at Skye’s snooping, Coulson still kept his promise to look into her file.
Who didn’t think for at least one beat that May or Coulson were the agent who had dropped baby Skye off at St. Agnes?

Agents of Shield Rewatch 1x19 The Only Light In the Darkness
A romantic title for a semi-romantic episode. Wheeeeeeeee!
This guy borrowed Dumblydore’s Put-outer?
Jk he has random light powers or something
That includes like your soul light I guess? Honestly I have no clue.
It doesn’t really matter this guy is not the point.
Fitz is super concerned about his “buddy” Ward
Nice juxtaposition of what Ward is telling them vs what he actually did
Coulson looks vaguely suspicious of Ward?
Orientation! I have a looooooooooooooot of thoughts about this. Sorry in advance.
JK I’m not.
I’m going to separate this out by person.
May: This is where we find out May’s been married. Once. She looks perfectly at ease here. This is not her first rodeo. On the egg and rock question, May is very no-nonsense. In other words, she’s very Melinda May. Again with the deserted island box question, May wants a weapon she can use to defend herself and feed herself. Melinda May is a woman who knows what it’s like to have to survive without any backup. When asked why she’s still there though, she very readily answers, “Coulson.” That’s the reason she’s doing everything she’s done. Which makes their fighting even more painful.
Fitz: Fitz looks kind of uncomfortable, but more interested in how it’s all working? So typical Fitz. It’s just him and him mum he says. I feel like this can explain some of his reticence to say anything to Jemma. He’s been abandoned before. On the egg and rock question, Fitz (and Simmons) take this as a chance to analyze it from every different angle. So once again, very Fitz. And then we get to the deserted island box question. At first, Fitz clearly wants to over analyze everything again, but when forced to give an immediate answer he says, “Simmons.” For him, the one thing he never wants to be without is Simmons. He knows they can survive anything if only they are together. So for him, the box contains the only thing he really needs in this world-his partner. In answer to the question as to why he’s still there, Fitz says he’s got to stay close to the people he trusts. It’s obvious he’s very rattled by everything going on.
Simmons: I love that Simmons and Fitz clearly are giving the same answer here on the egg and rock question. PSYCHICALLY LINKED. For the deserted island box question, Simmons chooses the Tardis. I know this is kind of a throw away line to relax some of the tension in the scene, but it shows just how different a place she and Fitz are in. Fitz has had to consider his life without Jemma multiple times. Jemma hasn’t really had to as much. I think that’s part of why Fitz’s confession under the water in a few eps seems to be a shock to her. Picturing life without Fitz just isn’t something she’s doing at this point. In answer to the why are you here question, Jemma very honestly says she’s not sure. I think this is the first clue that she’s starting to realize how much her life is changing.
Daisy: Mary Sue Poots is an awful name. I don’t blame her for taking a different one. Poor Daisy is also having to reevaluate her place in this world again, and I think that’s reflected in her answer to the deserted island box question. She’s just so unsure. This is backed up when asked why she’s still there. She says it’s the only home she’s ever known. She doesn’t know where she fits in anymore, but she knows this is her family.
Trip: Aha! So Trip’s grandfather was a Howling Commando. He’s so awesome y’all. In contrast to May, when Trip answers the deserted island box question, he says a sat phone. While this is a very good and valid answer, it shows that he is used to having backup. While I’m sure he knows how to survive, he’s used to having a team there. Which follows considering the second he knew what Garrett really was he latched on to Coulson’s team immediately. I mean he obviously liked them, but I think Trip very strongly needs to have a team. In answer to the question of why he’s still here, Trip gives a marvelous answer about his legacy and the good guys winning which is so Trip because IT’S JUST SO PURE LIKE HIM.
Ward: I mean the beginning questions are easy for him. He doesn’t even have to lie really. Note he does want a weapon in the box though. And not a useful one like May. One to take out people. I mean I guess it could take out animals too, but I doubt that’s what he’s thinking of. And now Ward is having to lie about being an agent which is HILARIOUS to me. Oh how I wish Koenig would have just shot him already. In the end though he’s able to just tell the truth and say Daisy, so I don’t know what all this rigmarole was all about anyway. You’re so dumb Ward.
Ok they explained the bad guy’s powers but eh it’s not important at this point.
Haha Fitz’s face at having Trip be their pilot is funny, but also be nice Fitz. Trip is a good guy.
I understand though.
Ward and Fitz’s exchange is veeerrryyy interesting here. I do think that Ward was being genuine here. First of all he obviously knows that Fitz is in love with Simmons, but he takes it one step further by telling Fitz to tell her how he feels. I almost think Ward is still hoping to find a way to get the job done without having to cross every one off. Despite himself he has come to care for them in his own way, no matter what he says. Or maybe he just wants Fitz to have a moment of happiness because Ward knows he’s supposed to kill them soon. At any rate, Ward is correct that Fitz needs to just tell her.
Phil is a super bitter Betty about May. I do understand, but also be nice to her Phil. She just loves you.
Uh oh, this is clearly Audrey Nathan and she’s in trouble
Whaaaaaaat? Shield was being shady and trying to make him stronger??? Color me shocked.
Except not.
“Let’s live dangerously” oohhhh poor Koenig if only you knew
Ha Simmons has read enough fanfic to figure out the plot of this story that Audrey is telling about the Shield agent swooping in
Fitz has clearly not
Again, Ward is being sincere with May here. He’s talking about following orders because he’s having to do it even if he’s starting to question some of them
:( Don’t go May
Anyway if I had any slight sympathy for Ward I don’t anymore. Monster.
“Our best agents are watching” more like our two most lovesick agents
The things Daisy is saying about May is clearly VERY APPLICABLE to Ward here
She just doesn’t know it
Awww Fitz is very clearly watching Jemma and admitting he’s too scared to talk to her MY HEART
Man, I think we’re getting more honesty from Ward in this episode than in this entire season so far
I still find it hard to tell what is true about Ward’s family and what’s not
Eww this is not the kissing couple I requested
What a beautiful juxtaposition of these two scenes though
The terror of both Audrey and Daisy at the affection of two very dangerous men
Not to mention, it’s put up against the very pure love that two other men have. Coulson and Fitz are willing to put the well-being of the objects of their affection before their own in every way possible. LEARN SOMETHING WARD AND CREEPY CELLO GROUPIE.
Daisy figuring out Ward is Hydra kills me every time
I’m glad Phil got a moment with Audrey, even if he couldn’t stay
Daisy is so strong here. Queen.
Coulson now realizes he needs to make things right with May, but unfortunately it’s too late
Poor Fitz looked like he was going to say something to Jemma for a hot second, but he changed his mind. Sigh.
Daisy needs to decrypt the hard drive, and Ward must really be blindly in love with her because you can definitely see her wheels spinning here
I love May’s mom with all my heart
May’s going to find Maria Hill!
Man I had a lot more feelings about this episode than I thought. It’s just so dense though. It get’s a 10/10 on the JUST TELL HER YOU LOVE HER ALREADY scale and a 10/10 on the Ladies Who Are Scared to Death but Still Getting Things Done scare. My ladies really stepped it up this ep.
The song for this episode is the very aptly titled “Tell Her You Love Her (Acoustic)” by Echosmith because LISTEN TO THE WORDS PHIL AND FITZ AND JUST SAY IT ALREADY.
youtube
This is legit one of my all-time favorite songs, and it fits so well with this episode so I’m excited to get to use it.

AoS Episode Showdown -- T.R.A.C.K.S.
This episode is T.E.R.R.I.F.I.C. But for real. During this rewatch, I kept going back 15 seconds to repeat all of the character moments. It’s all so good because all of it is so subtle, and I’m so glad sixteen episodes were given for character development. This show is like no other. I can’t wait for more and more people to discover it. There’s a new reaction stream everyday. There are countless podcasts. My friends are interested in watching it. I love that. And I love this episode. Might as well be called T.E.A.M.
I love that Coulson is drinking espresso and Pelligrino with Russo. I also love how later, when Skye asks the conductor if he speaks English, he answers with a firm “of course.” Because duh. Of course he does. Which throws more shade on the U.S. and the lack of importance to be bilingual. I envy bilingual speakers.
In this episode, 1x13, the team goes undercover. In 3x13, Bobbi and Hunter go undercover. In 5x13, Mack goes undercover with his awesome cap.
May looks GOOD in her outfit. And she’s walking on top of a fucking train. I heart May.
When Fitz and Skye are pretending to be a couple, Fitz awkwardly runs his fingers through her hair, and it’s ridiculous and amazing.
Fitz calls Skye the least supportive pretend girlfriend he’s ever had. When Jemma leaves, Simmons is very pretend and very supportive.
In 1x13, when Coulson and Ward are trying to figure out what happened to the train, they throw out the idea of a portal. In 2x13, Cal is taken away through Gordon’s teleportation powers. In 5x13, the team is battling fear demons spilling through three portals. In 6x13, May comes back to the temple through a portal to kill Izel. And it can be argued that the team uses a piece of a portal to jump back through time.
I love the Philinda moment, and during this rewatch, it’s clear how heavily romantic Philinda is hinted at in season 1. I’d say even more so than FitzSimmons except for “FZZT” or “Beginning of the End.” Only Skye and Ward have more moments than the other two pairings.
When Ward intrudes on the Philinda moment, at first watch, we’re meant to think that it’s him picking up on the closeness between the two and that May could never feel for Ward what she feels for Coulson. When, in reality, Ward’s probably thinking, “What does Coulson have that I don’t? Also, there goes my sly and strategic plan to lower May’s guard. Fuck.”
In 1x13, Jemma throws herself on the ICER grenade not knowing what it was. Fitz is extremely worried. In 4x13, Jemma swats Fitz for risking his life saving the day because he “could’ve been blown to bits.” In 6x13, Fitz and Jemma prepare to die in order to save lives as they hold onto the grenade together.
In 1x13, Fitz and Skye have each others’ backs and share many nice moments. Fitz gives her his ICER and tells her to be careful. In 2x13, Fitz is very vocal about Skye having the ability to maintain control of her powers. He has her back. In 4x13, Fitz and Simmons work with Daisy to defeat Shockley. The three of them have each others’ backs.
Skye tells Fitz that Coulson wouldn’t want them to let Quinn get away. It’s funny to think about what Coulson would or wouldn’t want. I’m not sure he would want Skye to pursue Quinn by herself. But Fitz reluctantly agrees with Skye. I think Skye’s loyalty to Coulson is inspiring, but this sort of blind faith gets her in a lot of trouble.
It’s devastating to watch Quinn shoot Skye. Twice. And all she can murmur is “Help.”
In 1x13, Skye is placed in a hyperbaric chamber in order for to lower her temperature. In 6x13, May is placed in a cryo-freeze chamber in order to lower her temperature.
In 1x13, Jemma attempts to convey a strictly medical tone as she briefs the team about Skye’s injuries. In 2x13, Jemma attempts to convey a strictly medical tone as she suggests that the team sedate Skye in order to contain Skye’s powers. In 3x13, Jemma attempts to convey a professional tone when she’s helping Bobbi and Hunter and figuring out the general’s abilities. In 6x13, Jemma exhibits a medical and authoritative tone when she’s instructing the team with what to do.
In 1x13, Fitz embraces Jemma in a comforting hug. In 4x13, Jemma embraces Fitz in a hug of relief. In 6x13, Jemma leans into Fitz to seek a comforting hug.
In 1x13, Fitz holds Jemma as they grieve what happened to Skye. In 6x13, Fitz holds Jemma as they grieve what happened to May.
When Ward angrily tells May that he doesn’t blame himself, is he talking about Garret? The camera then pans to Coulson, so I think that’s who May thinks Ward blames. But deep down, he blames Garret. Or maybe he blames both of them. AnYoNe but Ward because Ward is blameless, right?
This is such a strong team episode. It shoots up to the top. It changes the game. Since Simmons’ scare in “FZZT,” no member of the team has encountered such a life-threatening situation. Not only that, but we get to see how much Skye means to the rest of the team in such a short amount of time.

AOS Rewatch: S1E21 “Ragtag”
Oh, right, there was a Grant Ward background episode. Have I mentioned I was never that interested in Grant Ward [though I did appreciate it him much more as a villain.]
Fitzsimmons being so proud of Skye and her Trojan horse.
“We’re vigilantes.” — “I was going to say ‘Doing this because it’s the right thing to do,” but: yeah.”
“And I want my plane back.” HELL YEAH
“Stream Mike Peterson some video of his son this afternoon. Don’t mention it.” I hate Garrett so much with his smug grin and his feeling of ‘Oh, I’m doing something nice here.’
"Well, I don’t believe people are born evil. Something must’ve happened.” **ugly crying**
“We should systematically take a full inventory of—OH, my God! Is that a handheld hypno-beam?” AAAAAAAAND let the fangirling begin (fanboying?) “Okay, the two o you can get a room later.” HAHAHAHA
Oh, Fitz, there you go almost burning down the motel.
“Watch out, Hydra, here we come.” Could May be any more sarcastic?
“I’ll leave Buddy here.” **ugly crying**
I love that scene with Fitzsimmons giving Coulson and May their lines and inevitably ending up in one of their bickering matches.
“May looks barely a day over—” Oh Simmons, now what do you say. “THIRTY. You’re gorgeous.” Hehehe, nice safe.
Coulson accidentally putting on the Scottish accent. Hahaha.
“and a much cooler—name.” You don’t just steal Fitzsimmons’ tech, give it a stupid name, and get away with it.
“Does your sweater itch?” — “A little bit.” ‘Cause we know the important conversations to have.
“I’m glad you’re back.” ME TOOOOO
“Try not to set the drapes on fire.” Fitz will never live this down.
“Garrett was the first Deathlok.” Now things are going to get interesting.
“Skye, Trip, get ready for a large file transfer.” I know it’s a cheesy joke but it’s still one of my favorite jokes.
“When I see something that tells me I shouldn’t with my own two eyes.” **ugly crying thinking about how soon he’ll see it**
"Pizza delivery for Pablo Jimenez!” — “That’s me.”
And that’s the beginning of May becoming Skye’s mentor and just THAT RELATIONSHIP IS SO IMPORTANT.
I love that May and Skye scene.
“her DNA” AHHHHHHHH. Setting up S2.
Quarter beacon and the EMP device. **ugly crying**
That failed fist bump is so precious.
"We’ll send Sleepy. He’s our best listener—next to you, of course.” AWWWWWW.
Have I mentioned I hate Ward?
“This is our plane. We want it back.” BRAVE LITTLE LION CUB!
“Now take care of Buddy and we’ll get out of here.” SON OF A BITCH!
“Put down Fitz and Simmons.” FUCKING SON OF A BITCH!
Brave lion cub trying to make a run for it with brave lioness cub.
THAT SCENE BETWEEN FITZ AND SIMMONS AND WARD. WHERE IS MY TISSUE BOX?????? [Also, I’m still not a fan of equating Fitzsimmons with the dog. Yes, I see the parallel but still something about it feels weird.]
Creepy music. “The universe.”
“Secret door? I got this. They’re like my thing.”
That damn berserker staff.
I also hate Quinn. Have I mentioned that lately?

AoS rewatch: 1x22 Beginning of the End (1/2)
I watched this finale many times, but every time I see it I’m out of words. I think this episode is amazing, it made me sit on edge of my sit when I watch it first time, and I feel like this every single time. Pod scene with Fitzsimmons is heartbreaking and beautiful in the same time, team working together against evil is brilliant, it was fun seeing Fury, and Ward and Garret got what they deserved.
I know many people are saying that season 1 is the worst, but I really love it. I love beginning of it because it’s still so light and everything was easier back then, I love the ending because it was shocking but also when you know what happens you can notice foreshadowing through whole season. Season 1 made me cry, laugh, get mad and shocked, stressed, but it was worth it♥️.

As you may notice there are no screencaps with Fitzsimmons because I have to made another post for it...🤷🏼‍♀️

Rewatching AoS 1x01 makes me feel two things; sadness because everything seemed so simple back then and anger because it really wasn’t.
Not only was Grant Ward Hydra since the beginning, but something that I realized rewatching this episode more closely is that May uses the same technique Grant does when he pretends he doesn’t want to join up.
Ward tells Raina later on in Season 1 that you get invited to a lot of parties if you pretend you don’t wanna go. And that’s how Coulson didn’t suspect him, Grant pretended he didn’t want any part in the team. Even though him joining up was part of the larger scheme.
But Melinda May did the same. She’s the one who came up with the parameters for the team for Fury, she knew she had to go on the Bus, and when Coulson approached her she acted just like Ward. She pretended she didn’t want to join up because her being on the low was also part of a larger scheme.
We all know Grant Ward and Melinda May are very different, but at the same time their loyalties run deep (even though they run in opposite directions) and their Specialist training gives them some similar abilities.
