re: my post abt being a bi woman and being attracted to rugged/muscular men

lol I made that as like a semi vent post bc I got frustrated at the way ppl talk abt what queer women are attracted to, a lot of times I see it on tiktok (yea yea I know) and it's just generalizations

it was an offshoot of conversations abt the female gaze (which a lot of time ppl on that app misunderstand) and what makes a male character appealing to women and the take gets watered down to like male gaze is a character like Thor and female gaze is loki (using an example someone used) and not really looking deep into it and then like queer/bi/pan women adding on and speaking about their own preferences like it's everyone's

it ends up being muscular rugged guy - male gaze and less masculine guy - female gaze which is SOOO

cause look these men are all written and created for the female gaze and yet they physically adhere to what people consider the male gaze:

(yes I believe atsv miguel was designed and written for the female gaze to some extent but that's another essay)

it's just!!!! idk what the moral of the story is...generalizations water down nuance....queerness isn't one singular thing etc etc

hey hi hellooooooo. on my lunch but wanted to pop in to say tha we should plot things...for any of my muses...i have so many......and i'm also rebooting my multi!!! i always blab about missing in depth plotting and i do!!! i miss having mun connections because i don't really have many folks i talk about my muses with, and i think that's a lot of why i struggle with writing lately. i have nothing to base it on, no one talking about the plots with me, and therefore i'm pulling it all out of my ass and my creativity apparently doesn't work unless i'm able to talk about it too.

so anyway this is just me saying i have so many muses, so many ocs, will make more ocs to write with you...but i miss that connection i used to have with folks. obvs the rpc has changed tremendously in the last decade, people have been burnt and aren't as open and welcoming as they used to be. i don't see as much silly back and forth and crackposting as i used to, and i think in the new year we just all need to be a little more open to that wholesome vibe again. maybe it's just my dash, but i don't follow many people anyway.

so...idk love each other and shit. and then come yell at me for the plots and things. i promise when i get into it i'm a great plotter and will come yell at you at 2am about what if we did.....and then give you 44 paragraphs about something dumb. anyway anyway...blab is over ilu all, your muses are beautiful, and that's it.

Clark was preparing himself for the day his son would get older and married but he didn't think it would be so soon.

it’s simultaneously sad and hilarious, bc yeah poor clark never got the time folks normally get to help their kid get thru puberty and alldat jazz, but at the same time, he has to now learn how to be a formidable father-in-law on top of being a dad of a young adult and two ten-year-olds nobody told him to adopt, but like!!! that’s life, clark!!! kids grow up and get traumatized by their crackhead grandfathers that SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN LET INTO THE HOUSE IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE. glad jor el is dead 😊😊😊

Hey y'all! So, sorry I was MIA for awhile until like a couple weeks ago. I needed to kind of take a break from ✨the internet✨ for a little bit. But now, I'm back and better than ever shawty!<3 I've returned to my homeland☺️

Anywhomst, I've been working on some fics per-uge. However, school has been crazier than ever, so I've barely had any time to work on them sadly :( But it's okay, I can just keep outlining fics in math class lmao😂Plus, the semester's almost done, so I'll be able to post more then. So since I unfortunately don't have any ~finished products~ at the moment, but I still want to contribute to the food supply of the Kanera community, here's a lil' wip I'm working on right now (a lil' appetizer you could say ;)):

Her sobs deepened as she rested in the crook of his neck and he lifted her onto his lap.

“I love you,” he whispered into her forehead. He held her face and lifted it so she could meet his eyes.

“I-love-you-too,” she said between sobs. His grip on her tightened as he brought their faces together.

“I just don’t understand. I put everything I had into this plan. And he literally told me that mine was the best one. And Fulcrum–I mean, Ahsoka–agreed and it seemed like most of the squadron agreed. I mean, I don’t want to say he ‘led me to think’ that they would use my plan, but what he did made me feel that way.”

“Yeah, I mean, you’ve given up so much for this. And you’re always the one listening to everyone else’s ideas and suggestions. You always take everyone else’s feelings and standpoints into consideration—never putting your own perspective first. And the one time you deserve to be the leader that you are, he tells you that you’re going to get that opportunity and then, hours before the briefing, takes it away. Honestly, I still respect the guy, but that’s banthashit.” It took all of Kanan’s self control to not confront the guy himself. He knew more than anyone all that Hera had sacrificed for this, how much trust she had put in Commander Sato—and for this to be the outcome? It just wasn’t right.

okokok I was gonna talk about the structure, but gonna say smthin about ethos instead with structure folded in I guess, which isn't going to be coherent

for me, I can say that ted lasso is not a perfect show (and then I can go on a tangent about there being no perfect shows) and also that actually comedy isn't my favourite genre anyway and include there that I think that it couldn't always balance the comedy, sincerity, and the reality it was attempting to challenge, especially in s3 -- I think an egregious example was rebecca talking about the love of football to a bunch of billionaires, it just stretched too much disbelief and therefore came off less as a natural development and just out-of-nowhere preaching

but then I was having a good time peeking into a little of rupert and rebecca's past relationship when it did work, and it being a scene that makes her able to let him go entirely (and generally I am fine with taking the good out of the bits that don't overall work for me)

anywhomst, there are things, and it also plays into the oddity of s3 not being two seasons (which I had been so sure was going to be the structure, and I was right to think it might not work out and seriously, are they covering up that it was cancelled, conspiracy unlocked)

there were a few things that happened very quickly and weren't explored in the writing (ex. jamie's dad going to rehab, nate making up with his dad after one talk and generally some nate things in s3, part of keeley's narrative in s3, etc.), which was a problem of structure rather than ethos in my opinion. there's story to be explored there, as there is in a fair few things that came and went too quickly on this show, which tbh I'm sure fanfiction can cover (except for the womens team feat. trent crimm show, that needs to happen On My Screen!)

it has gaps in how it can make the points it wants to make -- I've mentioned that in terms of romance too -- but it really really wants to make them nonetheless, flaws and all. it wants to tell the story about a man with mental health issues, who's scared that he'll fuck up his son in the way his dad's suicide affected him, who runs away and finds himself coaching a London football team of men who grow to be better with each other and the world beyond, and its vehicle is football, an intensely international and adaptable sport, with so much fluid potential for expression!

along the way it comes across limitations (either in the amount of time it has to tell the story or in the lack of in-depth knowledge I presume the creators have in radical kindness and community healing politics and philosophies and how they intersect with queer intersectional concepts), but it's made the story despite them, with all its messiness and it ends well. characters heal, start their attempts to heal, continue their journeys to help others around them

I cannot stress enough either how messy league football is, the level that this fictional team plays on. as someone who's been directly affected by the exclusionary ideals that are promoted by the FA it was good to see this fantasy, it was exhilarating to imagine this kind of change happening at that level in the way I have experienced it happening at grassroots levels. its subject matter is so in need of more of this, I hope it inspires more stories with the same core ethos, and I hope these go further and further with its radical ideas

colin kisses his boyfriend at the end! would I have loved to have seen more time to get to there, to have seen it folded into an arc about challenging homophobia in football at an institutional level, to have also had him apologising to nate for his bullying as part of toxic masculinity masking his homosexuality? all of these yes. do I appreciate what the show wants to do here about something that is barely beginning to be properly challenged in reality? yeah yeah yeah!

any of the gaps I think one can play with in fandom, and if that show about the women's team gets made we gently slide them some bell hooks and get megan rapinoe involved somehow
