Child/Parent Prompt List v.2 • Number 7

“I want a dog” “I do too but you have to persuade daddy.”

“I want a dog,” Your daughter told you as the two of you were eating dinner together. Antoine was currently away for a football match so it was just you and your daughter having dinner together. It was nice to be alone with your daughter for some quality one-on-one time but at the same time you both missed Antoine when he wasn’t here, especially around the dinner table where it was more known. For a moment after your daughter spoke those words you were in shock but only for a minute or so because you were ecstatic over the fact your daughter wanted a dog. That now made two of you in the house that want a dog. Antoine can’t say no to both of you, majority wins, right?

“I do too, but you have to persuade Daddy,” You replied instantly, throwing Antoine under the bus with your daughter, however, it was only the truth so it’s not like you’re lying to your daughter plus it’s a family decision so you can’t just get a dog because the two of you want one. Before you had your daughter you had really wanted a dog but Antoine was always saying no. It was when you and Antoine had moved in together and it was amazing to finally be living together since you are able to see each other more frequently however when he would leave for the France National Team or be away for a couple of nights for away matches you would feel quite lonely in your house and the perfect answer for this would be to get a dog. Obviously, you spoke with Antoine about it and gave him your reasons for wanting a dog but for some unknown reason Antoine was strongly against getting one. He never said his exact reasons but Antoine not wanting one was enough of a reason for you to drop the conversation. Every now and then you would bring it up again to see if he had changed his mind but Antoine would shut it down instantly and once you had your daughter you never brought it up again. But now your daughter is older and apparently wants one so maybe it’s time to bring it up once again.

“Really?” She asked sounding really excited and also a bit sceptical at the same time like she didn’t expect you to say yes. Well, it was probably that you said yes straight away like that- well a part yes since you said that she has to get Antoine approval first.

“Sure, you just have to persuade your daddy first,” You reuttered to her letting her know that it is Antoine that she will have to get through to him if she really wants that dog. Instantly you saw this glint in her eye and you just knew that she took that as a challenge.

“I will. Daddy can never say no to this face,” she told you pulling a pouting face at the end of it. The one she pulls if she ever wants something or to do something and gets told no. The whole thing was true though. Your daughter could honestly get away with murder with Antoine so you would not be surprised if he instantly gives in when she asks. Either that or he would stutter for a bit before giving in to your daughter and getting her whatever dog she wants. Not your favourite parenting technique of Antoine’s but in times like this where you also want a dog it is wonderful.

“You do need to know how to take care of a dog and find out everything you need first though so it may be a while until we get one,” You explained trying to prepare her for the worst possible outcome of Antoine not agreeing and that even if Antoine agrees to the dog she won’t be able to get one right away because it doesn’t work like that. You have to find the perfect dog for your family. Your whole family is quite energetic and goes for walks often therefore a more relaxed dog who doesn’t have a lot of energy wouldn’t be good. There’s a lot of research that goes into having a dog so your daughter needs to be prepared and making her do her own research will also show Antoine that she is serious about wanting a dog and it may make him more likely to agree. Or agree quicker and you both probably need all the help you can get.

“I’ll go look now,” your daughter said seriously as she shoved that last bit of food into her mouth before getting off of her seat and making her way to the computer to do some research. You did chuckle to yourself at her seriousness of the whole situation but at the same time you thought that it was good because it meant that she really wanted a dog. All you could do though was chuckle and wish Antoine good luck because as soon as your daughter had an idea on her mind she would work towards it and make sure she gets it. She wants this dog and she will get this dog. One very stubborn child you have. Wonder who she gets that from?

A day passed and Antoine was finally home again. As soon as that door closed behind him your daughter was in his arms hugging him tight. Antoine probably just thought that your daughter missed him but you could see that she was sweetening him up, making sure that she was on his good side. There was another motive for this affection but Antoine was about to find that out. Let him enjoy his little moment with his daughter. If you looked past the other motive it was actually a sweet sight. Antoine had his eyes closed and a soft smile on his face whilst holding your daughter tightly against his own body and your daughter was clinging onto him. It was adorable really. Poor Antoine. He really had no idea what was coming.

“I want a dog Daddy,” was the first thing that your daughter said to him when he placed her back down on the floor. No hello. No, I missed you. Just, I want a dog. Straight to the point.

“What?” Antoine questioned, understandably confused by what your daughter had just said. Maybe he was just processing it all. He did look at you with a raised eyebrow and a questioning look on his face but you just shrugged your shoulders whilst doing everything you could to hold back the smirk and the laugh. After that, he turned his attention back onto your daughter hoping that she would explain where all this came from. To be totally honest Antoine probably thought that it was you getting your daughter to say it and fair enough since you have asked for a dog multiple times but not this time. This time it was fully your daughter's idea.

“I want a dog,” She repeated to him.

“Did you tell her to ask me?” Antoine questioned turning his attention away from his daughter and turning it to you with a slight glare. This time you did allow the smile to take over your face and you tried to make it look innocent but you knew that you were failing miserably.

“No. She asked me about it yesterday and I just told her to ask you,” Was all you told him.

“Can I have a dog?” Your daughter impatiently asked again, getting frustrated that he wasn’t getting a set answer from Antoine. He looked between you both for a couple of seconds like he was deciding whether or not to go through with it. Considering how often he works he knew that most of the dog care would primarily be down to you but still a dog is a lot of responsibility and a family decision. When it wasn’t during the football season the three of you like to go travelling so your daughter experiences different cultures but is that possible with a dog? There is so much to think about.

“Taking care of a dog is a lot of work. How about a pet- a pet- a pet rock?” Antoine finally got out.

“A rock!” She shouted, not believing what Antoine had just told her. She actually sounded a bit offended by it, by the fact Antoine wouldn’t allow her a dog but a rock. A rock that doesn’t do anything and is absolutely pointless because the child can't show that they can care for something. That is something that you’ve never understood however it is a little funny to offer them a rock instead of a fluffy animal. You were doing everything to hold back a laugh at the fact Antoine had just offered her a pet rock. At the same time you were just watching the interaction between the two of them. The way Antoine attempted to be strong and say no to your dog whilst your daughter just stared at him pouting. You could tell that Antoine was slowly breaking and would soon give in.

“Fine we’ll start looking into getting you a dog,” Antoine finally burst out at the smile your daughter let out was gigantic. You could tell that smile was worth everything for Antoine. He would do anything to get your daughter to let out a smile like that especially if he was the reason for that smile and if that meant agreeing to get a dog now then so be it. Anything to get her to be happy and smile like that. Once again your daughter ran over to him giving him a huge hug because he had agreed to get her a dog. Any dog that she wanted Antoine would get her if it puts a smile on her face and gets him hugs like this.

“Thank you, Papa,” She said over and over again.

“So what dog are we getting?” You asked cheekily and Antoine just glared at you whilst hugging your daughter close. This time you were unable to hold back the laugh so you were just standing there leaning against the wall laughing whilst Antoine was on the floor hugging your daughter and your daughter just kept babbling and rambling on about what dog she wanted to get. You could already tell Antoine was regretting his decision.

30 Day Challenge My daily challenge with prompts, these fics will not be tagged only if they were requested by an account and they’ll be under 500 words. 10. Car rides Antoine Griezmann Word Count: 246 Late night car rides were your favourite, you spent all day stuck in an incredibly stuffy office and all you needed to do was chill out for a little. “Wanna jump in the car?” he asked randomly as he shook his car keys at you. “Yeah cool” you smiled as you slipped your trainers on and you jumped in the car. “You okay? tough day” you sighed as you put your head against the window as you nodded. “Yes, that office was so hot. I could only describe it as how I felt being in an oven, people just know how to press on my buttons and get right on my nerves” you let out yet another sigh. “I am sorry, hopefully this drive will help clear your head” he smiled, leaning over as he placed his hand on your thigh. “Yeah this will, thank you so much” you smiled as you put your hand on his. “No problem amor, I know you need to down time. I know work can be a bit much at times. So as long as I can help you cool off a bit, that is all that matters” he smiled as he pinched your leg again. “Thank you, I appreciate more than you realise” you held his hand as Antoine carried on driving as far as it took him. Just the both of you enjoying the sound of the music in the car as the rain hit against the windows.

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN X READER:

author's note: I'm actually kinda proud of this, hope you like it :))) warning: just a tiny bit of angst.

You couldn't hide your frustration. It was starting to get ridiculous and you both knew it, Antoine was sitting in front of you with furrowed brows, mindlessly scrolling through instagram. You were pretending to do the same, looking at him through your eyelashes.

It was weird, being right in front of each other and not talking, usually you two would be laughing over nothing, always matching each other's energy so well, teasing each other and basically speaking your own languages with how many inside jokes you had. Now he wouldn't even look in your direction, he pretended you didn't exist and kept changing position on the white couch. The tension was palpable. You were frustrated and confused: Antoine was literally the sweetest person you knew, always a kind word and a smile for everybody, he was your best friend and you couldn't imagine why he wouldn't talk to you even if he was mad. You didn't even know what you could have done wrong!

Dinner with the Équipe was supposed to be fun and you were so happy when Antoine asked if you would join him but now you regretted it, feeling stupid in such an elegant blue dress, being sat in front of a man who wouldn't even acknowledge your presence.

He got up abruptly to go to the bathroom and Olivier scooted closer, whispering "What's going on with you two?" in your right ear.

"I don't know Oli, he's been acting strange for the past hour. Do you think I offended him somehow?" you sighed "Maybe he doesn't like how I dressed." you thought out loud. To be fair your blue satin dress showed a lot of cleavage and hugged your figure thighly and you debated a lot whether you should wear it or not. Maybe he thought you overdressed, or he didn't like how much skin was showing.

"Nonsense" Olivier said "I think you look hot and Antoine thinks so too." he winked at you.

"Normally I would be jealous but you do look stunning." chipped in his wife.

"I second that." Presnel added, grinning.

"Stop it guys, you're gonna make me blush." You mumble, already red. Olivier always knew how to distract you when you felt a little insecure, he was very protective but Presnel was just shamelessly flirting. Actually he had been making you laugh all night.

"Oh and Y/n, Antoine isn't the kind of guy who would judge you based on how you dressed. You knew it was true and he had complimented you at the beginning of the night, still you were angry with him.

"He's also not the kind of guy to ignore his best friend instead of dealing with whatever the problem is, but here we are."

Oliver didn't have time to reply cause Antoine came back, he switched his attention to him, inviting to go on the terrace for a bit.

You followed them with your eyes, trying to read Antoine's expression but then you gave up, going back to your conversation with Presnel and Kylian.

Oli came back after a while. "He wouldn't tell me what was wrong but I think I figured it out, you should really talk to him." he said, winking at you again. "Why does it have to be me?" You thought, but still you joined him on the terrace.

He looked, if possible, even more upset than before but also a little embarrassed. You two looked at each other in silence for a little too long before you spoke "Anto what's going on? Did I do something wrong?"

"What?" he said a little surprised "No you didn't…"

"Then why aren't you talking to me? It's annoying and I don't fucking like it, we've always been able to tell each other everything."

Antoine sighed, looking away from you

"You're right Y/n, I was just upset and I didn't think I could control what came out of my mouth so I just decided not to say anything."

"But why are you upset?" he still wasn't looking at you.

"Because I saw you talking to Presnel and you two were laughing and I know it's stupid and it's not the first time one of my teammates hits on you cause you're gorgeous and smart and funny and it makes sense but still…you were laughing and you even had little inside jokes; like the ones you have with me. And I remember you saying he was cute some time ago and I don't know…It just upset me because I was jealous! But I know I have no right to be jealous cause we're just friends and everything but I am and it's fucking embarrassing. I know It's my problem and I shouldn't have ignored you, I'm really sorry Y/n" Thanks to the light coming from inside you could see he was blushing.

"Antoine, look at me" You said softly and when he did you noticed his beautiful blue eyes were shining with unshed tears.

You didn't give him time to say anything else because you kissed him, just for a second.

He looked at you, his eyes wide and deepened the kiss, one hand caressing your naked back and the other gripping firmly your hip.

"God knows how much I waited for this." He whispered.

England Set France Classic Clash for A Semifinal Spot

Olivier Giroud celebrated as he scored the first French goal against Poland yesterday (📸 Reuters via The Hindustan Times)

The second day of the Round of 16 filled the top side of the bottom half of the draw, which saw the battle between France & Poland and England & Senegal. While the room for upsets is always open, the trajectory of both matches contrasted with each other in practice.

France v. Poland

The match was initially fast-paced, where it started with several notable French chances from Antoine Griezmann at 3' and Aurelien Tchouameni at 12'. The most notable Polish chance came from Robert Lewandowski at 20' and Matty Cash at 34', but to no avail. Wojciech Szczesny was also remarkable with the save at 35' and how Piotr Zielinski's right-foot shot to the center at 37' got rebounded and saved by Hugo Lloris. However, right before half-time was called, Olivier Giroud scored a goal at 43' after executing the passes perfectly from Dayot Upamecano to Kylian Mbappe and right to Giroud to be shot, only for Jakub Kiwior trying to play offside but to no avail. The first half then ended with France leading 1-0.

In the second half, Poland tried to match the French pace, coming from the point they left off in the first half and defended well, but France went even more aggressively with several more chances, one of which came from Kylian Mbappe and Giroud's notable bicycle kick. Mbappe went on to score two different goals: one at 74', where Ousmane Dembele perfectly passed the ball to Mbappe to catch the Polish defense department off-guard; and the second right at 90' in an upgraded execution of a previous goal from Lionel Messi. That goal was an addition to his goals tally, scoring 16 goals in 14 matches for France.

Although M. Cash attempted a bicycle kick, also to no avail, there was another drama several minutes later, when a VAR official spotted a French handball right at the end of the match. When the contact was confirmed, a penalty was awarded to the Polish side, where Robert Lewandowski executed it in two takes: Lloris successfully saved the first take, albeit it was deemed offside at the end, which prompted a second take. This is where Lewandowski successfully scored a goal for Poland, minimizing the difference to 1-3, and the final whistle blew.

England v. Senegal

The stand-off between England and Senegal was rather slower in construction, but once England went on fire, they never looked back. As much as Senegal tried to raise their level, England eventually dominated the whole flow throughout the 90 minutes of play. Senegal had their chances, but they could not maximize them, hence England took advantage in their counter-attack since.

Although Senegal started with a chance successfully defended by Harry Maguire, signifying a slower start, one of their notable chances in the first half remained Ismaila Sarr's shot that went far and wide right after being assisted by Boulaye Dia, in the position John Stones defended. England successfully converted their defensive position into an offensive where Jordan Henderson attacked right at the penalty box in 39'. Phil Foden's flick out from the left, followed by Jude Bellingham's delivery to the penalty spot where J. Henderson stood by to execute, catching Edouard Mendy off-guard. Right before the whistle blew in half-time, England successfully scored another goal, this time from Harry Kane (who finally added his name to the scoreboard this year), where Bellingham and Foden once again played their parts to break it forward before Kane executed the final shot. As a result, England led 2-0.

8 minutes after the second half started, England became more aggressive, where Bukayo Saka was able to score at 57' after Foden's ball crossed Saka, breaching Senegal's defenses, where the pitch was left off-guard, overwhelming Mendy to some extent. There were several other notable chances towards the end of the second half, where Senegal appeared to raise their level, but they all went too wide, even further above the goal net. Even though Rashford had a last-minute unconverted chance, England maintained their position until the end of the match, securing their quarterfinal place at 3-0, and a clash against France in that round.

England v. France: What's Ahead?

The French position as the 2018 World Champion would pose a great test for England, especially when they are in peak form. However, their build-up toward this round was something else: England, having started solidly with a 6-2 win against Iran, drew the United States with a rather slower tempo flow, before going on fire again facing Wales. On the other hand, the French aggression knew no boundaries, with a little hiccup when they got defeated by Tunisia (0-1) in the last match of the group stage, having already qualified.

While their last meeting was in the friendly match of 2017, where France eventually won 3-2 in a close match, England only won once out of the seven meetings in this millennium, followed by two draws and four defeats. To prevail, England must be able to absorb the French side's quicker pace, or it would be costly. Judging by the last few matches, France would likely have a rapid start, where England's defense department will be tested before the conversion to offensive play becomes the next aspect of attention. Regardless of the outcome, this match can be seen as a classic nail-biter for all the suspense it will bring.

“Don’t be scared of the monster. I’ve got you. Daddy will always protect you”

“Don’t be scared of the monster. I’ve got you. Daddy will always protect you,” Antoine whispered to your child as he picked them up off of the bed. Antonie had woken up to the sound of your child screaming and crying in their bedroom, so had you but Antoine said that he would go and collect them. Once Antoine made it into their room it was in near darkness except for the little night light which was still on but barely lit up the room. He could see two small arms reaching out for him and Antoine took them into his arms and cuddled them whispering calming things in French. They had been having the same nightmare for the past few days so Antoine was all prepared for this. He rocked them like always whilst telling them that the monster was no longer there and couldn’t hurt them anymore.

Eventually, the tears had stopped falling once Antoine scared away the monster but they still had a tight grip on Antoine's top and he knew that they wouldn’t be letting go of it anytime soon. He could either wait here with them to go to sleep and then put them back in their own bed so he could sleep himself or just bring them into your bed so the three of you could just go to sleep easier. Your child would feel both of your presence there and help ease them a bit and hopefully go to sleep easier and both you and Antoine would be able to sleep easier as well knowing that your child is safe and asleep.

“Do you want to sleep with me and mummy so we can protect you from the monster?” Antoine questioned them. He felt them nod against his chest and instantly picked them up along with their comfort blanket and teddy and started to take them to your room so the three of you could actually get some sleep. Antoine may have scared the monster away but he still knew that your child wouldn’t go to sleep easily, especially in their own room where the so-called monster currently is or was.

You were still awake when the two of them made it into your room and you lifted your head slightly to see Antoine carrying your child in before placing them onto the bed. Instantly they climbed in and cuddled up close to you who wasn’t even going to question as to why they were here with you. It did make sense even without an explanation. Also, you knew that your child would most likely tell you why just to put off going to sleep for a little bit longer.

“There was a monster under the bed but daddy scared them off but I’m still scared so I’m sleeping here tonight,” Your child told you as they climbed into the bed next to you grabbing their teddy and pressing them against their chest. You just hummed and allowed your hand to run through their hair hoping that would calm them down a bit and get them to sleep a little bit faster because they need to go to sleep right away or very soon. It’s late, they've barely slept or had a good sleep and if they don’t sleep much now you’re going to have a very moody and difficult child in the morning and for the rest of the day. That is something that you don’t particularly want to deal with.

“Good thing daddy scared off the monster then so we can have a good sleep,” You told them who nodded their head before snuggling down into the bed properly like they were about to go to sleep which hopefully they were going to do. It was silent in the room for a bit of time. Only the sound of the three of you breathing could be heard before your child decided to perk up once again. You knew that they weren’t asleep at that point but you were hoping that they would just lie there and fall asleep apparently not though they still had something to say even if you and Antoine were doing all of the tricks to get them to sleep.

“No monster?” Your child questioned Antoine once more just wanting to make sure about it. Make sure that there were no monsters around that would interrupt their sleep once again.

“No monster,” Antoine replied before your child fell asleep between the two of you. You looked at Antoine with some kind of admiration in your eyes, not that he could see or you could see him properly but still, you stared at him with some admiration before falling asleep yourself. You knew that you had picked the perfect person to be the father of your children as well as the perfect partner for you. He even scared away the scary monster.

okay but seriously? Diego coloring Antoine’s hair pink? the two of them messing about during the process (of course)??? Diego trying to protect his black suit and Antoine intentionally ruining it with the color (bc Diego has literally a hundred pieces of the same type of suit)??? Diego telling Antoine how beautiful he is throughout the process??? lovingly putting on the colour - because although he himself is pretty conservative when it comes to hair, he respects and supports Antoine’s choices??? Diego telling Antoine that he will color his own hair pink if they retire together in 2026???

Plain Jane

player: Antoine Griezmann words: 477 request: Anto | 250 - 500 | No pref | Anto needing help to dye his hair after all the pink washed/grew out and she is more than happy to lend him a hand. Lots of needy!Anto who decides she might as well sit in his lap as she rinses his hair, that way he can at least somewhat cuddle her

Anto had sat better than she thought he would, even if he was constantly reaching for the pack of Lays or some other snack and dipping out from under her touch - prompting her to keep guiding him back into place so she could ensure that his hair was fully covered with dye. She would turn his head this way and that, smoothing her glove-covered fingers through his hair to massage it into his scalp and make sure that no strands remain a washed out blonde-y pink shade.

Dark water runs into the bathtub as she runs a warm stream over his head to wash out the shampoo, hand now scrubbing at his scalp hard enough to unlodge some of the dye while not clawing at him in a way to hurt him. He’d insisted she sit on his lap and while she does, his fingers draw pictures and write letters that will never be seen with the naked eye. His eyes are closed, he’s breathing quietly through his nose and in a way, he looks peaceful.

Dipping her head slightly, she presses a light kiss to his forehead which brings a small smile to his lips and hugs her body closer to his.

“Thank you for doing this,” he says quietly and when you look down, he’s got one eye partially open, his face in a slight squint.

“Any time.” She gives a little shrug and keep working at his scalp. “I like you dark.” She thought he might keep his hair bright; after all, the pink army that he’d raised was taking over and infecting other players with the vibrance. So when he came to her with a box dye in a dark colour, she was a little taken aback.

“Why? I thought you liked it when I was fun and playful.”

“I do.” She nods, watching as the water is starting to lighten and so she turns the water off and apply the conditioner. “But the dark makes your eyes pop. Makes you look like a mysterious dark haired stranger and all that.”

“Me and ‘mysterious dark haired stranger’ do not belong in the same sentence.” he chuckles, giving her a little squeeze in the process. “Even if I look boring with plain hair?” There’s a small happy groan as her fingers work his head,

“You could never be plain to me.” She replies honestly as she leans forward, careful not to squash him with her body against the bath as she does so in order to turn the water back on. “Besides, I can’t see this lasting. You’ll be back to some vibrant colour like always before we know it.”

“We’ll see.” He grins.
