Changing RWBY: The Ever-After
Okay so just putting this down here: The following does contain a suicide mention
Yooo. So I just decided to start something up called Changing RWBY where every now and then I may post something that I disliked about RWBY's main canon and how I would change it. Be wary this is gonna get really REALLY RWDE.
So before I continue the following triggers will be in this: suicide mentionOh and spoilers for Volume 9! Okay with that out of the way lets begin with how I would change the Ever-After!!
To be honest, when I first saw the images of the Ever-After I was a little bit mystified but everyone including myself were thinking about one thing: "Could it be RWBY's take on the Afterlife?" which would have been interesting no less, buuuut...
It wasnt. As at the end of Volume nine it was just "there" and the God of Light and Darkness were once afterans before they "Ascended" and left the Ever-After. (Geez way to contradict your lore once again CRWBY.)
However right off the bat this is where I need to say this and it needs to be changed heavily. First off it should have been the Afterlife. As this would have meant the reintroduction of many classic characters who had died on-screen. This could even lead to even interactions with characters from Ancient Remnant. Now not to say that I wouldn't want to miss out on the Afterans as well.
Speaking about the Ancient Remnantites. WE NEEDED interactions with them, such as their reactions to hearing about Salem and how pissed off they are at Salem for leading them to their deaths and brief extinction. Not to mention how they could have explained that the God of Light and Darkness as a FINAL act of kindness created the Ever After as the Afterlife. Not to mention it is akin to that of a: "Happily Ever After" thing.
Now onto another thing the Afterans. Okay I'm all for wacky looking characters, but why did it have to be just lego set pieces, chess pieces, and other bullshit?! GO BALLS TO THE WALLS CRAZY AND PUT IN MYSTICAL CREATURES. Come on man! You have a talking Raccoon in there as an Afteran, why cant you do the same for the other Ever-Afterans!?!
For me, I would want to take any mystical character like actual fairies, talking dragons, talking fish people, animals that act like humans (Not in relation to faunus). Yeah its THAT EASY. Take for example That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime. By the time the village of Tempest had grown into a full blown city all sorts of monsters start to come towards the city!!! Creating an amazing sense of diversity.
Think about Humans, Faunus, Ancient Remnantites and the Ever-Afterans. It fits beautifully! And now leading into how the culture would mesh. Now since were talking about that it would mean one of three things.
The currency
Now for anything currency can be many things. It could be the old remnants currency which we'll call it the Aglaia coins, Lien for the Present. How can the Afterans trade? Simple remember how Jynxy was willing to trade? You need to have something that fits with that Afteran and its value.
It isn't going to be that damn easy! As most Afterans would need something from you in order to do so. Suddenly stealing something from someone without a trade will not fly especially if someone is alive. As when Yang finds Jynxy he apologizes for rudely taking Yangs prosthetic without a proper trade agreement. As repentance he gives her a ride on emporium to get where they need to go.
2. Who Rules What Area?
Okay so since the Ever-After is fucking massive and all. This would mean we would need to treat in terms of lands and other things. In a snowy area the Frost Giants rule that land as peaceful as they are they are wary towards other people including Afterans passing through.
In more temperate areas that are pretty much chilled out and stuff. It is ruled by the Two Twins. Who simply prophesize Good and Bad things to come. As many people taking their word to heart and even prepare in case of the hard times that is to come while also prepping for the good times.
In Any Areas marked with a Red Heart or even a flag. This would belong to the Red Queen (the main antagonist of my take of Volume 9) anything she says is law in her territory and everyone must do as she says. Or they must suffer the consequences.
If it is near the Tree of Yggdrasil it is ruled by the first Champion of Remnant. Shaka Ishvalda. Who gives people the choice to stay or be reincarnated when they pass through the tree leading back to Remnant. Kind of akin to the Lifestream in the FF series.
Any Area that has no ruler is free reign.
3. Smaller Settlements
Now just like in Remnant any corresponding area as above do have small settlements just like the Paper Pleasers but due to the nature of the Ever-After not every settlement can make it through as either it is growing on its feet, or just even suffering through...but most settlements that lead to the Tree of Yggdrasil count as checkpoints! For people going to be reincarnated to rest and relax with other travelers to converse and such.
Now I know what you must be thinking what about the means of death. Now this is where I needed to look into a few things. And well thank Record of Ragnarok and Coco because If one were to die in the afterlife....They are erased from all existence.... never to return...
Simple as that.
Lastly is the Ascendance.
Fuck how CRWBY for having such a fucking idiotic idea to glorify suicide. So we're changing that shit entirely to something else. This time the Ascendance should have been when a character learns something important that helps them grow whether if mentally, physically, emotionally, or any other fancy way. So yeah, no tea suicide drink or giving yourself up to the tree. Just learning a clear lesson.
The roots of Yggdrasil will extend to that area and will wrap around that person for a few minutes, taking them to the very core of Yggdrasil where they are given a new ability that could one day be important for the future. How can that be applied to team RWBY simple.
Yang- She grows by understanding that her own anger may one day harm those closest to her creating a massive rift between her and Ruby. As she realizes this, Yang closes her eyes and meditates thinking of good and bad moments that have come and went. Realizing she needs to change herself before it is too late as she gains the ability to set her fists on fire whenever she is using Burning Rage (Which she later on renames to Burning Passion)
Blake- After having a conversation with Sienna Khan, Blake begins to see that even if peace is obtained between both humans and faunus, nothing will change. However, there are those who are going to stand with the faunus and fight for them, even to the point where it may lead to their own deaths, endangering their careers, or worse. For Blake her semblance gets an upgrade to where she can now enter a state of focus to control said clone.
Weiss- After conversing with he Grandfather and dealing with one of the Red Queens court with him. She understands that the SDC has done more harm than good, and that she is willing to take full responsibility for their actions once they return to Remnant and end Salem once and for all she plans to take control of the SDC and begin constructing it to be better and accepting all consequences that should come from it. All while offering more to the faunus communities due to how infamous the SDC was towards the faunus. Her new ability would be to now utilize more of her Glyphs at its strongest.
Ruby- After finally meeting Summer and the FIRST Silver Eyed Warrior along with Ishvalda. Ruby realizes the meaning of Light at the End of the Tunnel as she realizes that through Ishvalda that his teachings led to more champions of Remnant during its ancient years, then the first Silver Eyed Warrior sacrificing their eyes in order to save millions from a Grimm, led to the birth of the Hunters and with Summer defeating Salem temporarily, this led to preservation of the Future as now for Ruby....She must defeat Salem in order for peace to be fully obtained.... and thus preparing herself to pass on the next lesson to the next generation. Well for her, there is an upgrade to her semblance allowing her to move faster that she is capable of attacking while using her semblance.
Seriously there are so so so SO many ways people can grow. And yet... CRWBY just wants to be fucking lazy as shit. I said it before and I'll say it again.
Fans can do RWBY so much better than what the CRWBY can put out.

I wanted to make this its own post and add some stuff.
Miles and Kerry are the reason Rwby went to shit and Rwby stans refuse to acknowledge it because they see these two white men as their gods. They even go out of their way to downplay Monty's part in his own creation by reducing him as "the animator who does cool fights," while giving majority of the credit to these two wackadoos.
They don't want to admit they prefer Miles and Kerry's version of rwby, because they also have to admit it's no longer Monty's work post vol 3 and on top of that, Miles and Kerry's version of "Rwby" sucks ass. Thats why they're hellbent on the "Monty planned everything since the beginning and Miles and Kerry totally knows his vision" while at the same minimize Monty as the creator in the same breath.
This is also why they are terrified of Dillion buying the rights to rwby when they found out Shane works with him and is close friends with him. They spent years slandering Shane as nothing more than a "bitter and disgruntled ex employee" when he released his letter because they don't want to believe their "besties," their "fam," they're "little meow meows" in crwby could possibly be terrible people. I mean, why would anyone ever lie about themselves on the internet guys??? /S
They purposefully "forgot" about the abuse scandals that were exposed once again just two years ago and are thanking Rooster Teeth for the fond memories. They're thanking the people they saw on that live stream because thats all who they care about. The animator who had to endure crunch time with little to no pay, who found out through twitter they no longer have an job? Who cares about them? They're a nobody. Miles and Kerry are not nobodies, they're celebrities on Youtube and in RT. That's who the rwby stans truly care about.

I know you hate canon Yang but do you think she and Mercury could at one point bond over having been messed up by a parent that made them base their worth on their strength?
....Long Post Ahead
Tumblr media
Anon let me tell you-
I fucking hate that people now believe Adam was Yang's foil because the writers fucked up. No, he's not. He's Blake's foil; they share the same story, and the same past, and everything about them was supposed to be linked together down to their fairy tale allusion. Whatever came out of making him and Yang rivals are bullshit ass-pulls.
Mercury was designed to be her foil; he has a grey monotone color palette and a very low-key, cyberpunk-esque fashion while Yang is in a warm-tone, bright-colored palette with a steampunk style that sets her out from others visually. She's mostly a boxer, while he's focused on kick-based combat. Mercury doesn't have a semblance and has to rely on his own skills, and Yang relies TOO much on hers and it becomes her double-edged sword.
Mercury has a terrible father and no mother, suffering alone in a home that took everything from him and forced him to kill. Yang might not have Raven, but she has a loving family who cares for her even when they're not perfect. Everything about them was set up to be a narrative of two people who could very easily become the other had the circumstances of their lives been different, but their actions had also led them to this point and they have to take control of their future now that a new chapter begin.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, should have changed this aside from the fact that MK and CRWBY are fucking stupid enough to make Yang wedge into a narrative that she DOES not give a fuck about even though she supposedly cares about Blake and her causes, but never fucking does anything for the Faunus or even talk to Blake about her goals for them. It muddles their characters (Yang, Blake, Mercury, and Adam) because now the writers have to make dumbass fucking reasons for Yang and Adam to fight each other when Mercury and Blake are right fucking there.
I made a post about this subject before here and the same sentiment still stands. I fucking hate it here.

last bit of biphobia from the rwby fndm before june 1st. crazy cause canonseeker, pookie, the only time miles has brought up jaune in the context of being a boykisser is when he was paid for it. so forced ships & queerbaiting & rainbow capitalism are okay so long as rwby looks progressive on the surface.

V9 commentary: We had to make some cuts on the second half of vol 9 because of budget.
Rwby stans: omg fuck Warner and DC! How dare they pile on such a workload on our besties in crwby!
*video of a con panel from a few months back resurfaces*
Kerry: I talked with some people at RT and Warner if we can make a DC x Rwby crossover movie and we were given the green light!

I had left RWBY after that disappointment they called a finale and now that I’m back I feel just as cheated as before. I had thought once the group fell into oblivion they’d end up in a random part of the world that still fit, not friggin Wonderland. It doesn’t feel natural tbh, but that’s just me. I’m also curious as to why they had to throw in Jaune since he doesn’t contribute much. Please don’t let this be one of those concepts where he’s the center of attention, more than usual at least.
Totally agree anon, this whole season is forced. And of course Jaune has to be there, and Weiss suddenly has to thirst after him despite never having shown the slightest interest in him and him having harassed her. Miles' pet can't be excluded, he has to have the spotlight! How else would we know it's rwby?

I am once again asking people to realize that it's weird to take the stance of "no one should think that they're better than the RWBY writers." Like, people who write re-writes aren't even saying that, but if they did then who the hell cares? More power to them.
The RWBY writers are basic normal humans and there are people who are well justified in thinking that they're not very good writers. It's not normal to think that no one should think their work can be improved. It's not normal to think that every critic needs to think MKEK is better than them. Calling people names because they're writing re-writes (a tried and true fanfiction hobby for years upon years) is bizarre and weird.
RWBY is not an exception. The RWBY writers aren't an exception. They're not some super high bar that the common person can't reach. And again, people aren't even saying that. If you ask almost any rwde-poster, they'd tell you that making a story based on other people's work is different than making an original project even if said original project is badly done. But also like... Why is it such a big deal for these people that not everyone thinks the RWBY writers are better than them, anyway?
It's giving insecurity, it's giving parasocial, it's giving hero worship, it's giving 'needs to take a long break from RWBY,' it's giving 'is the type of person to be a thirty year old Sherlock fan still threatening to kill people in 2017.' The anti-rewrite thing is ridiculous and it's straight up helping to kill the whole of the RWBY fandom.

The RWDE crowd and the anti-RWDE crowd are fucking bonkers, man. Like sometimes the RWDE community has some valid points about the writing of RWBY but sometimes they just get really. Fuckin misogynistic. And nitpicky over stuff that isn't a really big deal.
And the anti-RWDE crowd, while they're right about RWDE getting misogynistic sometimes I feel like they sometimes give MKEK, two white guys fron Texas, too much credit for stuff. And, they tend to just say "if you don't think this character made a mistake, you're misogynistic!" Without really giving evidence to support why so-and-so didn't make a mistake.
Like, yeah. Maybe RWBY's decision during the Fall of Atlas was thoughtless but it's not like Ironwood's plan is any fuckin better. Yes the fact that Yang and Blake don't really do anything to fight against racism in Atlas is lazy but you can't blame Bumbleby for it.
I think fridging Phyrra for a white boy's development is dumb. I think Sierra Khan showing up only to be killed off by a man is dumb. I think Penny being revived only to be killed off again is dumb. I think the absence of more female authority figures is dumb.
Whatever.

You know, it's quite fitting how important color is in the R W B Yverse, what with people being named for colors (I guess), because this show has really shown us the writers' true colors, especially Miles and the disgusting things he says.
Yes, this is about how he treated that Ironwood fan who PAID HIM TO CONFIRM WHAT HAPPENED TO IRONWOOD and he was a gross, rude, ableist dickhead about it, but as we know, it goes way beyond that.

Comparing RWBY and YGO DM: The Handling and Evolution of Themes
Hey! Its been a hot minute since I last posted anything RWBY-related but Im laying in my bed right now and Im sick and bored so I guess we're doing this. Today I will do my best to analyze what I percieve to be the main themes and messages of both of these shows, or more specifically, how theyre handled narratively. Im mostly focusing on that part because, while these series do have similar themes and messaging, they are still a few things in which they are wildly different. And with that, lets start with this essay-post-thing!
1. Theres something we need to adress first
Okay so, before we can really talk about this, theres something I feel the need to clarify here: Neither of these stories was "planned from the beginning".
Now, I dont think a story being planned from the beginning or not nesscessarily makes the story any better or worse by default, however, it is still important to acknowledge because the way the story is planned is going to affect every facet of it. Things are not going to be foreshadowed properly, things are gonna be set up only for nothing to come of it, the story might drastically change directions, characters might act differently, etc, etc.
And, this is bit off-topic but, it's much better to just admit that the story was not planned than trying to pretend that it was. Like, there are a lot of reasons why I tend to be so forgiving towards YGO even though its not very good, but one of them is definitely the fact that, as far as Im aware atleast, the guy who wrote it isnt pretending to have had this big master plan all along and neither is the fandom. With RWBY on the other hand... yeaaaah, its kinda the opposite. From what Ive seen of RWBYs fandom, there seems to be this pretty popular narrative that everything was planned even though it clearly wasnt. Thats pretty bad and honestly lowers my opinion of the writers so much more than if they would just admit to not having a proper plan.
Like, I initially consumed YGO like this: Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh (aka Season 0), like, a quarter of the Yu-Gi-Oh manga (I still havent finished it)
In all three of these we have the character of Yami Yuugi, or just Yami. Broadly speaking, he is an ancient egyptian gamer spirit who lives in a magical puzzle that has not been solved for 3000 years until this highschooler named Yuugi Mutou comes along and solves it, thus setting him free and allowing him to possess Yuugi and have access to the vague magical powers of the puzzle.
In Duel Monsters he's perfectly fine most of time, morally speaking. There is an instance of him almost murdering a guy and its a bit unclear what exactly happens to those he mindcrushes but overall he's very much a pretty good guy. In Season 0 most of what he does is set up these games for bad people, where they will go insane no matter what they do. From how I understand this whole Shadow Game, Penalty Game stuff, if you lose a Shadow Game, you get violent and intense hallucinations and you will always cuz yknow, gamer spirit. But if you try to cheat, which most of the bad people do in this show, you get violent and intense hallucinations as a punishment.
Since the two anime are generally considered two different continuities, its perfectly fine that Yamis characterization is wildly different in both of them. But in the manga both of these characterizations appear, basically one after the other with no real arc or consequences, for that matter. Why is that? Simply put, someone thought it was a good idea to try to turn an episodic, very slice of life-y light-horror manga into a more traditional, more plot-driven battle shounen. From what Ive heard, it was apparently largely because of network interference or something, but the point is, it changed directions incredibly drastically with little planning and everyone knows this and I can understand that for the most part.
In RWBY we have the character of Blake Belladonna, who, in the first 3 volumes/seasons atleast, was this aloof, more toned down loner-type character with a pretty strong sense of justice. She's an in-universe marginilized racial minority and she clearly cares about racial injustice. The way its initially framed makes it seem like she had a very hard life and no stable support system, which is what eventually pushed her to join a Civil Rights group/Terrorist organization (good god, the Faunus subplot is so awful, I could write a whole essay about it but Im already de-railing rn so I'll just save that for later).
Then, in volumes 4-5 it turns out her father is actually like, the mayor or chief of this island-place called Menagerie and she grew up in this big mansion with multiple guards/servants. Oh and also, apparently "space is a commodity" on there, so theres that. She still retains large parts of her personality but she's kinda like, worse somehow I think. I cant really describe it in a meaningful way but I hope you get what Im saying anyway. Then in Volume 6 she confronted her emotional abuser Adam (sorry for not mentioning him sooner but yeah, he was like, her abusive boyfriend, which is something that a lot of people disagree with but I wont really say anything about it either way because I dont really feel any specific way) with her friend, Yang, and ended up killing him.
After all that, she pretty much lost the rest of her personality, as well as her arc about all the Faunus stuff. She just kinda became the meek, generically nice, recovering abuse victim. Why? Well, the actual reason is that they didnt plan out shit and are just kinda flying by the seat of their oversized clown-pants and if they and the fandom just admitted it, I would have less of an issue. I still wouldnt be as forgiving towards RWBY as I am towards YGO because the crux of the issue, for me, is just that I dont particulary like RWBY but also like. Do you really expect me to take MKEK seriously as writers after admitting to not have a timeline because iT wOuLd CaUsE pLoThOlEs?
However, since they want us to believe that everything was planned out from the beginning, the explaination would be.... Idk, they deliberately butchered one of their main characters?? Because.. they hate her?? Maybe????
So yeah, that was quite a detour however, I would like you to keep this mind going forward.
2. Themes of the Early Series'
First, what do mean by 'Early Series' for both of these shows respectively? Well, for YGO that would have to be Season 0 or if youre reading the manga, everything pre-Duelist Kingdom. Basically, the part of the series thats a episodic, very slice of life-y light-horror series.
For RWBY that would be the first three Volumes, also known as the Poser-Era. Back then it was just kinda an action series that took place at Anime Warrior Academy (also known as Beacon) with some pretty bare minimum worldbuilding, character-driven plots and developments but now its more of an epic high-fantasy story with more of an emphasis on plot as opposed to just action.
The themes and messages in Early YGO are kinda vague, very confusing to me and if you were to follow any of it literally that would be pretty bad. For now Im just gonna say the main themes are Friendship and Identity and mostly focus on the Identity aspect.
Now, it took me a little while to figure out RWBYs deal but I think the main themes for Volumes 1-3 are also Friendship and Heroism. Once again, I'll mostly focus on Heroism and touch on Friendship more briefly later.
I dont have much more to add to YGOs themes right now, so I'll briefly go over Heroism in RWBY.
In RWBYs setting there are these man-eating monsters called Grimm that have basically infected the planet. In order to deal with that, they have people called huntsmen and huntresses that kill them and protect people. Theyre trained at special academies like Beacon and go on missions there and stuff like that. Our four main characters, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang, are training to become huntresses and one day they go on this mission to clean up a grimm infested city block with one of their teachers. Obviously, that takes a long time so they have to camp out in one of the empty houses. Weiss, Blake and Yang cant sleep because theyve been thinking about this question that their teacher asked them when they were fighting grimm: "Why do you want to become a huntress?"
They have a heart to heart and we find out about their motivations; Weiss wants to bring honour back to her family, Blake want to distance herself from the White Fang (that terrorist organization I mentioned earlier) and as an extension from Adam, Yang wants to have a life of adventure. They also talk about why Ruby wants to be a huntress and it turns out that she judt wants to help people. Unlike the others, she has no motivation besides that. We're meant to listen to that and look at her as a sort-of personification of Heroism: kind, but not naive, strong and most of all, selfless. The others on her team are not portayed as bad for not being like Ruby by any means but we are clearly meant to admire her the most out of all of them.
Okay, now comes the part Ive been looking forward to the most:
3. How did these themes evolve in the Modern Series'?
Alright, before we can really delve into the way they evolved in YGO I'll have to give you a brief summary of the character progression. At the start of DM, during the Duelist Kingdom arc, Yami Yuugi is just that; A darker Yuugi. Hes more confident, bolder, his voice is deeper, hes somehow taller, more ruthless, all that good stuff. Notably, he doesnt actually seem more skilled than Yuugi even at the start of this story, but he's still dependent on Yami. Yami on the other hand, has no identity of his own or even hints at one at this point. He's just The Other Yuugi.
Then during the Battle City arc, they find out that Yami was actually a pharao prior to being sealed in the puzzle, he just didnt know because of amnesia, I guess. So now they need to find out his real name and then send him to the afterlife because hes meant to be dead, but not before saving the world from being swallowed by darkness, which is also a thing they have to do now.
Then we finally get to the Memory World arc, where Yami, Yuugi and the rest of the gang astralproject to ancient egypt via puzzle magic. Yami is trying to figure out what the hell is going on and who all these familiar people are, while Yuugi & Co are trying their best to help him. Then some weird shit happens and it turns out that all of that is not just Yamis sealed away memories, but also a giant D&D Shadow Game that will destroy the world if Yami loses. So now theres Pharao!Yami who is still clueless on the metaphorical and literal playing field and Player!Yami, who is kinda controlling himself now? I guess?? Yamis opponent, The Spirit of The Ring, has something similar to that going on where hes both controlling and properly participating in the game. So Player!Yami is now fighting against Player!TSoTR, Pharao!Yami is now fighting against Thief King Bakura (who is like, the human, ancient egyptian version of the Ring Spirit) and Yuugi is now fighting against Yami Bakura (who is like, the human, modern japanese version of the Ring Spirit). Yuugi gets Yamis real name, he and the gang go over to Pharao!Yami and tell him his name, meanwhile Player!Yami is also somehow helping as well and they defeat the Ring Spirit, thus saving the world. Then they travel to modern Egypt, the Ceremonial Duel happens and Yuugi wins, sending Yami to the Afterlife where he can finally rest and that was the series!
I originally wanted to recount the stuff that was going on with the Ring Spirit and his host as well because they parallel eachother, but this summary is already far too long and I think youll get the point without me needing to explain any more.
My point here is, that the story went from being vaguely about Identity, maybe? to being very clearly about Self-Discovery and Learning to Be Independent. I think this is a very good way to evolve the messaging of your story. How does RWBY track on that?
Well, uh... its not great. I will acknowledge that they have tried to introduce new themes and ideas since, even though I wont really be talking about them in this post. But yeah, the whole Heroism thing really regressed.
Like, I didnt explicitly say it when I was explaining grimm earlier, but theyre not going away. The grimm have always been there and people who sign up to become huntsmen and huntresses are effectively signing up for a job that will never truly be done, no matter what they do. Characters like Ruby and even more minor ones like Phyrrah have shown us that that doesnt matter when youre a hero. No life isnt worth saving, no grimm isnt worth killing, no criminal isnt worth arresting. Then, in volume 6 they find out about Salem. Salem is the Big Bad of the show, shes immortal, controls the grimm and is supposed to be very powerful.
What do our heroes do? They give up. Sike! They were just mindcontrolled by monsters or some shit, of course they didnt give up their mission (which is to bring an Important Macguffin to a city called Atlas, sorry I didnt mention it)!
But then they arrive in Atlas (which is llike, a city thats floating over another city called Mantle) and yknow, they do some plot stuff thats not really important right now until the city gets invaded by Salem and this big grimm army she has.
What do our heroes do? Well, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and some side characters are chilling, drinking tea in a mansion and Yang and the B Team were actually trying to do something, but even those efforts seem incredibly minimal.
Oh wait, I also forgot to mention that Ironwood (a fairly minor, vaguely antagonistic character up until now) wanted to lift Atlas even higher to save Atleasian civilians from danger while leaving Mantle vulnerable to Salems invasion.
What would be the most heroic thing to do?
A) Let Ironwood lift Atlas, get as much support as they can down to Mantle and save as many Mantle civilians as they can from the invasion
B) Prevent Ironwood from lifting Atlas but then split up in order to protect both Atlas and Mantle civilians
C) Prevent Ironwood from lifting Atlas and then dont do anything else
Congrats! If you choose C, you think exactly like the writers!
And I just
This is so mindboggling to me, I feel like I shouldnt even have explain how this is bad. And like, it wouldve been so easy to actually make them seem herokc through their actions, to make it seem like they did try but no.
I have never seen a central theme be this botched, how in the world did they do that? Why did they think it was a good idea for Ruby "The Embodiment of Heroism" Rose to sit in a mansion doing nothing, no planning, no organizing just ..... God, how are they this bad? Like, this doesnt even have anything to do with it being planned in any way, this is just straight up incompetence
4. Very briefly touching on friendship
The friendship is awful and its not solely because they all have the same opinions. They barely interact with eachother outside their designated pairs which leads to it all feeling incredibly hollow. Theyre also practically indistingushable from one another now, which is a shame because it wasnt always like that. Like, I dont think the characters were that well-developed in earlier volumes but they were very well-characterized. But now we've gotten to a point where you can literally copy and paste one characters dialogue onto another and literally nothing changes, it really sucks.
5. Some closing words
Damn, this took way longer than I thought it would and now Im pretty exhausted. I have no idea how yall always write these but props to you! I feel like this ended up a bit rambly but overall, Im pretty proud.
Please let me know what you think of the points I brought up! Id also really appreciate some tips on how to get better at these longer posts because I am planning on writing more in the future (not the near future, probably but yknow).
Thats all I have to say for now, thanks for reading!

Rwby stans: Miles and Kerry are the only ones who know Monty's vision and somehow Monty's spirit Astral projected into Eddy and Kiersei's head so they know what he wants too. Crwby is a package deal if Dillon wants to buy Rwby
Also rwby stans: Shane is a bitter ex employee who knows nothing about Monty's vision, even though he worked directly under him. Big yikes that Dillon is friends with him. And Monty's wife Sheena is just some woman and she possibly killed him.

This day can't can't getting better because according to the leaks Vacuo was going to be a colonized nation!
And you know what else? The writers were going to make the "oppressors" be wrong and bad because they don't like they fact they are being colonized.
Now I'm not to sure if this was the finalized storyboard but if it was......may they all burn in hell. Cause wft is this shit!!!!
Pretty sure stans will eat this story arc up and trying to justify why colonizers were actually good people who had good intention when colonization brings nothing but pain and trauma
Oh fuck me, they're gonna colonize Vacuous again...what the hellllllllll.
Yes, I said again because Vacuo WAS colonized. BY ATLAS. That was a canonical event that caused the Great War, and got Weiss' family to become fucking tycoons. The exploitation and colonization of Vacuo 80+ years ago was a crucial part of Atlas' domination in technology and Dust production, as well as the monopoly that the Schnee Dust Company controlled.
And let's be honest here, bby, was any of us surprised that CRWBY is planning to make an oppressed group the bad guys for not being nice enough to their oppressors?
You know, LIKE THEY DID WITH THE WHITE FANG AND THE FAUNUS.
Of course the stans would eat it up. They DID. On multiple occasions. That's why I'm glad that fucking bitch of a company is 8 levels of hell under.

I don't know if you have been asked this before but what are your opinions on FRWBY? And fix-fics in general?
Many people say FRWBY is bad but I think it's pretty decent. What do you think?
I have no interest in FRWBY as several of the writer's positions are hugely hypocritical in ways that make it a non-starter for me. From what I hear from others though, it seems like they make many of the same mistakes as CRWBY and stick way too close to the show's story, with the changes they make not actually solving the problems it has.
Fix-it fics in general, however, are totally my jam provided they address at least some of my issues with the show.
