Everyone and their mother on winx tumblr has talked about how Darcy could've honestly become an anti-hero/leave the trix.
Now the real question is...
Would yall read it if I made a hypothetical AU where darcy left icy and stormy leave with Darkar and stayed in light rock...

The Ancestral Witches
Belladonna, Liliss and Tharmathey are the first evil witches in existence, born in oblivion. They are the mother of all witches as they whisper into the mind of magic users, turning them greedy/evil/mischievous and granting them powers that can be passed on.
They haven't been actively creating witches for a long time, but right before they were defeated by the company of light, they each chose their most loyal apprentice and bestowed their darkest powers to their future child and told them of the destiny their children were to fulfil, who turn out to be the trix.
obtaining the dragon flame was never their true goal as witches, just to spread chaos and tip the balance of good and evil.
however when Darkar approached them for help, they first refused. but darkar unleashed the power of the shadow phoenix and cursed them, and magically bound the witches to assist in his quest to be the strongest being in the Magical Universe. Thus the witches were forced to work to find and aquire the dragon flame. Their search lasted for 3000years total, and they only finally pinpointed its location 16 years before the events of the story. (2000 years after they started they also created Valtor from a spark of the dragon flame that Darkar had and trusted them with)
the reason they took so long to find it was because the dragon flame itself didnt want to be found. it was hidden away in an "anti-magic" room so that its magic couldnt be sensed. the witches spend the 3000 years torturing Domino and its inhabitats (to the point where the people of domino became experienced fighters, every child having to go thorugh a mandatory education to learn how to block all types of attacks, especially psychic attacks.) for the exact location of the dragon flame. they only finally learned of where the flame was hidden when torturing one of the guards of the castle, almost his family in front of him just to fully heal them to do it again. the guard was new and young and gave up the location just to save his family, but they died of ther injuries anyway.
The Dragon flame is hidden on the opposite side of Domino from the castle, protected by an elite group of guards, hidden in a cave with a secret entrance from an unassuming valley, which also has an anti magic spell around it so its power cannot be tracked or sensed.
Daphne overhears the torture while in search of the guard, and before even hearing the conclusion, she goes to the cave to extract the flame to inbed it into her baby sister and send her away to earth. and because the earth is being extingushed of magic because of the black circle witches, Daphne knew that would be the best place to hide her sister and the flame, as its power wont be sensed and found.
once the witches found the location, they sped over there to grab the flame, but the cave was empty. so they went to the castle to look for the flame, sensing its power. they see daphne and curse her sirenix, before they confronted her so that when she used her powers she would become a spirit without a body. before they could get the flmae, daphne's portal to earth closed. and the flame was thought to be lost. the witches proceeded to destroy the entire planet while fighting with the Company of Light, and with their last spells, Belladonna covered the whole planet in ice, and Liliss and Tharma drag Orion and Marion with them into Oblivion.

Really hope someone can get to Flora with an antidote and save her once all the scrapers are dead.
So... Beatrix is dead now? No Trix then? Unless they do pull the Shadow out of whatever realm it was in. They could be planning on switching seasons 2 and 3 around so Darkar becomes the villain of season 3. There is some kind of logic to that but they wouldn't have had to do that if they hadn't ruined Valtor completely so... nope.
Well, they're setting her on fire again. At least this time you can kinda see a skeleton of the wings that isn't made of fire.
Okay, Stella is about to have the same rage explosion over Beatrix that Bloom had over Sky so I think that is official confirmation that they were in love. Certainly not something I was expecting but I'm not complaining about it. Just wish they wouldn't have killed Beatrix.
Sebastian's defeat was so fucking anti-climatic. I'm glad that they got wings or whatever but three of them "transformed" at the same time and there was no feeling of that being earned. Stella seemed pretty mad so I'm not seeing how she was appreciating the negative feelings at that moment.
So Flora was never in danger of dying? Wasn't the whole point to inject herself with something that could kill her so that the scrapers would also die? Or did she survive because with Sebastian gone, her magic came back and saved her?
Musa's magic is back again too.
Bloom's leaving now. Off to sacrifice herself probably. What the fuck is she wearing, though?
That Realm of Darkness doesn't seem very dark at all.
Stella, isn't the violent wind not making any impression on you? And there's the Shadow right there. I guess it came through the portal before Bloom could close it. And we're getting Marion now. Great! They can try and ruin her, too.

Are you responding to asks again?
I mean it depends very much on the question. If this is about panties, then no, never.
-
If it's about the Wizard Culture Question: holy gosh wow I am so sorry about that one.
It has been sitting in my ask box for ... years? now and it has been looking at me with the metaphorical eyes of a very sad and abandoned kitten.
The problem I'm having with trying to answer that one is that it feels like there's not a lot to go off of in the canon. Or at least not in the cartoon which I'm more familiar with rather than the comic, which might have more. idk, I haven't read very much of it.
In the cartoon we really only spend a small amount of time with wizards, Nabu and Palladium* getting (I feel) the most screen time followed up by Wizgiz* and Saladin. Apart from those four, and the very background Real!Avalon, half of the wizards we as viewers spend any significant time with, are bad guys. (The Black Circle, Fake!Avalon (not even a real wizard), Valtor, Darkar... Brafilius😑)
(*they are listed as 'elf' and 'leprechaun' so may not count but I feel like they do.)
What we do get to see is that the wizards of the Black Circle have their own magical specialty, Palladium and Wizgiz are teachers who specialize in a specific field or branch of general magical arts (the kind anyone with enough magic can use).
Saladin and Nabu both use staffs, but that could be an indicator of Combat Magic specialization.
The point is, I don't feel that I've spent enough time with enough wizards to get an idea of what kind of culture they'd form.
The best I can figure though, is that wizards are likely to be the ones who study Cultural Magic.
If you remember there was an episode in season... 2? where they were studying the Rain Dance, Musa performed an anti-rain dance to fight Stormy. During that episode it was said that each planet had their own form of rain summoning magic.
From that we can extrapolate that there are some spells that are ritualized, which use specific steps in specific orders that are unique to each planet.
It would make sense that these spells would be held by wizards who can use either 'light' magic or 'dark' magics, unlike fairies and witches who tend to keep to one side in channeling their powers.
Each planet would probably have a 'small' circle of wizards who learn this Cultural Magics, whose primary focus is the keeping and teaching of these magics to the next generations to ensure that their planet's magical heritage isn't lost.
Other wizards probably focus on a branch of magic like combat or runes or transformation, some possibly even studying on multiple planets to gain a broader understanding of the subject.
Honestly it wasn't something I'd thought a lot about because it wasn't where the focus of the Alt Con was, but when I got the ask I realized just how much I hadn't thought about it, so I started thinking about it but, as much as I want to answer that ask I feel like I don't have an answer to give.
-
While I was thinking about it though, my brain did decide there was a group who identify as wizards even though they may or may not be made up of wizards, fairies and witches, and who've figured out a way to manifest magic externally in a measurement of power. The group was inspired by the nine-tailed foxes and fox spirits of several Asian countries, and the idea of a secretive group who crop up every now and then and adopt stray magic users and have no *known* home world.
It was actually half provoked by a crossover idea I was having with Bloom finding out one of her ancestors from Domino was part of the group and had been on Earth and Bloom trying to track down the traces of her because she's trying to piece together her heritage and ties to her ancestors in the wake of being the last of her bloodline revelations.
-
If the question is basically anything else... uh, maybe? I'm doing (trying to do) a couple of projects this month in another fandom, so we'll see?

FATE: THE WINX SAGA – review
Tumblr media
Fate: The Winx Saga is a teen drama inspired by the animated series Winx Club. The series is aimed at an audience of young adults and features a darker story than that of the cartoon (Wikipedia). In order to watch the show, you have to have to leave out of the picture most of your previous knowledge about the Winx Club. Although the show is inspired by the cartoon version, it is clear within the first few minutes of the first episode that most of the events do not match the Winx Club’s story. Now, I know that a lot of people are angry and disappointed at the fact that both Flora and Tecna do not appear in the show, that The Trix are nowhere to be seen, and that the story does not correspond with its source of inspiration. However, I think that this adaptation has potential (this will be discussed later on) - although it can bit a little bit cringy at times. Like it was said before, Winx club is merely the source of inspiration for this show, but that does not mean that Fate: The Winx Saga was going to follow the original storyline step by step as it was. If we take Winx Club as our object of comparison, I do think that the characters are fairly well matched, although some of them are lacking certain characteristics (and being honest, I am still salty about what they did with Stella):
Tumblr media
Bloom, for example, has the same personality traits as the Original Bloom. First, let’s recap Winx Club’s Bloom’s personality: Bloom started off as an insecure girl at the beginning of the series because of her ignorance of her true origins and her strange, yet surprisingly potent powers. Later on, as she learned more about magic and herself, she grew increasingly curious about her past and whom her biological parents are. An escapist by nature, she has a tendency to run away when things get too hard or confusing for her, and can also be impatient and stubborn, with a short temper. Bloom was also impulsive at times, which led to some very bad experiences for both her and her friends. Her greatest strength and greatest weakness was her status as the guardian of the Dragon's Flame. While the Dragon Flame made her arguably the most powerful fairy in the Magic Dimension, it also consistently drew numerous enemies to her such as the Trix, Darkar, Valtor, and the Ancestral Witches. Despite her flaws, Bloom still has a heart of gold. She cares for all of her friends, allies, and families (both adopted and biological) deeply, and is always willing to help and fight for a good cause. She has shown herself to be selfless, caring, brave and a true capable leader. Bloom is tough when needed to be and always lends a helping hand to people in need (Wiki). Now that we have checked Original Bloom’s personality let’s compare it with Fate: The Winx Saga’s Bloom: she also has the same insecurities as the original Bloom - also caused by her lack of knowledge when it comes to her true origins and the fact that she is a changeling (Aisha tells her this in Episode 1). In this show we see a Bloom that is willing to learn more about her powers and magic, and that is also curious about who her biological parents are. She is also an escapist and has a tendency to run away when things get too hard or confusing for her - this is told in Episode 1 when she tells Aisha about how she lost control and nearly burnt her parents alive “Every night after that, I… I snuck out. I was so… scared that I’d hurt them again… that I slept in this… creepy-ass… warehouse near my house until Miss Dowling found me”. In this case, it is also her status as the guardian of the Dragon’s Flame that attracted the Burned Ones to her. This Bloom is also impatient, stubborn, and has a short temper. Bloom was also impulsive at times, which led to some very bad experiences for both her, her friends and the rest of students at Alfea - her decision of freeing Rosalind and letting her recharge her powers weakened the protective barrier and allowed the Burned Ones to enter Alfea risking all the teachers and student’s lives. The Original Bloom is said to be selfless, caring, brave and a true capable leader, however we can say that this Bloom is overall selfish and thinks about her interests first instead of worrying about the consequences of her acts. Although it is still too early to assume that she will be a good leader, we can’t deny that she is brave, tough and caring towards her friends and parents. Overall, I am happy with this Bloom: she matches the original one’s personality pretty accurately and in terms of physical appearance she does resemble the Original Bloom.
Tumblr media
Now Stella… Dear God, what did they do with her… I know I said that Fate: The Winx Saga was not meant to follow the original Winx Club, but I did expect the characters to at least have the same personalities. This is where I am most disappointed. The Original Stella is said to be proud and self-centered, Stella also cares deeply about her friends and family, not just herself. She will stick to the people she loves and do anything to keep them safe. Stella is not always seen wearing a smile on her face, but she does crack jokes to cheer her friends when they are depressed. Basically, Stella has a cheerful and optimistic personality. Besides that, she is totally obsessed with fashion, which clothes look best on her, and which dresses match her face the best. Stella often gives fashion advice to people in Alfea, but this advice is often not taken well. She would rather flirt with Brandon than study and do work, which sometimes annoys the other girls. The most intuitive of all the members, Stella likes to match make but has often had problems with understanding why her friends do not always like getting set up. However, despite her intuitions, Stella can be rather oblivious at times. She was sent to Alfea to become a stronger fairy, but this did not mean so much to her, though she did effectively become a fully accomplished fairy and a powerful one by fighting the first three season villains with the Winx. She uses her magic for anything, but she mostly wants to help her friends as deep inside she is a generous and helpful girl. Although she might disagree with her friends, Stella is very supportive and protective and will not hesitate to help them. She learns to accept that love and friendship are far more important than royalty, fashion, and shopping. Sometimes she hides her true personality because of her upbringing. In short, her cheerful exterior masks great sorrow (Wiki). Well… Where do I start analyzing Fate: The Winx Saga’s Stella… I guess I will take a shot at the similarities first. This Stella is proud and self-centered - which the original one was - and she does like fashion (although I would not label her “obsessed” with it) and gives advice to Alfea’s students… kind of… she mostly critics their outfits - specially Terra’s. Like the original one, Stella was sent to Alfea to become a stronger fairy and rehabilitate from the incident that took place the previous year (meaning that she had to retake the first year again) - in Winx Club, Stella accidentally destroyed the potions laboratory but it is not stated what happened exactly; in Episode 5 of Fate: The Winx Saga, Stella tells Musa the truth of what happened the previous year - that her magic is erratic because of her mother and that that day she lost control and blinded her best friend unintentionally. And that’s about it in terms of similarities… This Stella is dependent on Sky, her ex-boyfriend (still angry at the fact that there is no Brandon, and still creeped out by these two being a couple in the past) and seeks his attention all the time. The Original Stella is the most intuitive of all the members, but to be honest I do not see that trait in this Stella. This Stella is not shown to be a helpful girl nor someone that wants to help her friends, at least not until the end of the season when she tells the others that Bloom deserves to know her truth and that she supports her “I have an opinion. Everyone in this damn suite is so black or white. Bloom is a pain in the ass, but she deserves to know who she is, not the stories the faculty is telling her. Now we can worry about being right, or we can help our friend. Which is it?” (Episode 5). Stella is not a very supportive nor protective friend and only cares about herself… and Sky, and we do not get to see that cheerful exterior the Original Stella showed. This Stella is full of sorrow and sadness, and sometimes this eclipses any other trait she might have. To be honest this Stella is just a bitch most of the time and treats the rest of the people in Alfea like her mother treats her. However, if I put aside the Original Stella for a second, I do think that this version of her can be quite enchanting: she has all the characteristics needed for a great character development in this series, in fact, you can see some change in her towards the end of the season.
Tumblr media
Aisha is one of the characters whose personality does not bother me too much, and I do see similarities with the Original Aisha. Winx Club’s Aisha is extremely opinionated and open minded. She is as intuitive and when asked to, gives practical and pragmatic advice. She is also a talented dancer, athlete and speaks many different languages. Aisha gives practical advice and always provides a shoulder to cry on. She continuously shows this caring nature throughout the show, comforting Musa after her conflict with her father, and calming Flora's nerves when she experiences qualms about her feelings for Helia. However, besides the other girls, she might even be the most sensitive of the crew. She has also been shown to be rather stubborn and impatient, something that can get her into trouble by making her hold grudges and jump to conclusions. This could be the result of her isolated upbringing growing up, as she didn't really have many friends, making her come off as a little anti-social at times when she first appeared. Over the course of the seasons Aisha lost her tomboyish side possibly due to her opening up to the Winx and Nabu, but yet she still loves sports and still determined and energetic (Wiki). The Aisha from Fate: The Winx Saga is highly opinionated and she does not shy away from telling the rest her thoughts. She is also quite judgmental when meeting new people: in Episode 1 she helps Bloom end the call with her parents, they engage in a conversation about why Bloom’s parents do not know she is a fairy and when Bloom tells her that the idea of being a fairy is ridiculous, Aisha asks her if she has never read Harry Potter, and the conversation follows like this: B - “Please. If you knew how many hours I have wasted taking Sorting Hat quizzes…” // A - “Ravenclaw?” // B - “Sometimes Slytherin, yeah” // A - “That explains the lies then” // B - “Hm. Let me guess. Gryffindor [silence] Explains the judgment”. She is intuitive, tries to help as much as she can while being truthful (even if sometimes she ends up hurting people) and gives advice - sometimes uncalled for. But, unlike the original one, this Aisha can also seem a bit meddlesome at times. Like the Original Aisha, this one is also sporty and is shown in the series - she goes swimming every morning. Now, what I miss the most in her character is the lack of background… we know the Original Aisha is the princess of Andros, but we know nothing about this Aisha - Who are her parents? Where does she come from? What worries her? Also, we never new why the is unable to control small masses of water… we are just shown that she has trouble with it and that’s it, no more development for her. I think we should have been given more information about her and not just shown the same four traits of her personality all the time.
Tumblr media
The next one is Musa and being honest I don’t know what to feel about her. I am not bothered by the changes made but at the same time I am (being honest there is just one change they made that deeply bothers me)… For example, the Original Musa was a fairy of music and now she is a mind fairy - a fairy who feels other people’s emotions (Wikipedia). This is not a big deal, Winx Club’s Musa was able to feels nature’s emotions thanks to the sounds it made and was very in tune with her musical side, this Musa is also linked to music but in a different way - she uses it to scape her overwhelming surroundings - and she is also able to feel emotions, it’s just that instead of natures’s it’s people’s. I guess what bothers me the most is that the Original Musa was Asian and this one is not, I do not get the need to change that about the character… I have nothing against Elisha Applebaum, the actress that plays Musa, but why couldn’t they cast an Asian actress instead? It would have brought more diversity to the show. Now that I have that out of the way, let’s focus on her personality. Winx Club’s Musa loves music, dancing, singing, and playing all instruments, but her favorite instrument is the concert flute, the first instrument she ever learned to play. Musa usually plays amazing music but plays best when she is alone by herself in Alfea in a quiet spot. Despite being the most tomboyish of the Winx, she is perhaps the most emotionally vulnerable, and she balances this by putting up a tough front. Surprisingly, Musa gets the best grades of her friends, as mentioned. Her emotional weakness is the result of her mother's death and her father is far away. She is also a bit of a loner and had a crush on Riven, but they do not admit they like each other until the end of season two when they had their first kiss, which then starts dating (Wiki). When talking about Fate: The Winx Saga’s Musa I feel like we should first address the elephant in the room… no, there is nothing going on between this Musa and Riven, in fact, they’ve had like two interactions in the whole show - I can’t say I am mad about this, we all know Winx Club’s Musa and Riven had a very toxic relationship so maybe this is a good move for this adaptation, and also, Sam seems to be good for her. Now, this Musa has said since Episode 1 that she used to dance and that she loved it just like the Original Musa, but unlike her she doesn’t seem to play any instruments. However, she likes to listen to music alone by herself in her room or a quiet spot. She is also emotionally vulnerable and puts on a tough front. Just like Winx Club’s Musa, this Musa’s emotional weakness is the result of her mother's death which she tells Terra in Episode 6 after she asks her to help Sam ease the pain he is feeling after having been infected by a Burned One: T - “You can’t just run away. He’s in pain. And dad’s trying, but—” // M - “Please just leave me alone” // T - “I know you care about him” // M - “That’s the problem. I can’t feel it. I can’t feel somebody I care about die. Not again” // T - “What? … Musa…” // M - “My mum died last year, Terra. And I was with her, and I felt it, the moment it happened. I felt everything she felt. That’s why I can’t talk about my family, and that’s way I can’t be with Sam now. I can’t feel it. Please don’t make me feel it again”. One thing we don’t know about is wether she gets the best grades out of the group because we have never seen her study. Also, we know that she hates not being able to fight along with the Specialists and she is bother by the idea of having weak powers. Being honest, I am not disappointed with this Musa, in fact, I quite like this character but there are a couple of things I would like to know: once again I would have loved to see the moments she shares with the rest of the group because I can only remember her being open with Terra, maybe if they had included a couple of scenes of her bonding with the rest the friendship would have made more sense. I also wish that in season 2 (if they make it) they focus more on her, she has great potential to expand her powers… maybe let her fight with the rest of the fairies and the Specialists, getting to know more about her family and background, and also giving her more bonding time with other members of the group and not just Terra (but I get why they chose her to be her closest friend, I mean, she is her roommate and is dating her brother).
Tumblr media
Now, now, now… let’s talk about probably the most “controversial” character: Terra, not Flora but Terra. This the character that people where most disappointed with when the trailer was released, mostly because she is not Flora. Now, another elephant in the room: a lot of people who had watched Winx Club did not like the idea of having a plus sized character, especially when it was supposed to be a Winx. However, I think it is a great move including a plus size girl - the show being inclusive in this aspect is showcasing that anyone can be a Winx, because your size does not matter at all with the strengths you may have, so I approve this change, I applaud it. Another thing that disappointed fans was the fact that Terra is white - now, we don’t now Flora’s ethnic because it was never stated in Winx Club but many people believe that because of her skin color she had to be Latina… I don’t know about this because Miele, her sister, is white so… I guess you can believe what you want in this case but taking into account that Miele is white, and that Terra is just a cousin then the change made there it’s not that horrible (except that it narrows down the diversity in the main cast of the show). Also, another thing that left audiences speechless was that Flora was in fact mention in the show, but as Terra’s cousin “Shocking. Earth fairy called Terra likes plants. It’s a family thing. I’ve got this cousin called Flora” (Terra in Episode 1), I guess everyone though that the producers making an adaptation from an already existing show would mean that at least the names of the main characters would remain the same, but clearly that was not the case. All of that being addressed, I am still going to compare Terra with Flora, mainly because they are supposed to be “the same” person. So, Flora is shown to be a very calm, soft-spoken, caring, sweet, shy and genuine girl who loves plants and vegetation of all kinds. Being interested in experimenting with her plants, Flora became the potion master of the group who specializes in brewing and creating remedies and medicines from the uses of her magical plants. Due to her gentle and caring personality, Flora is strongly connected to nature and loves helping people. She is shown to have a sensitive personality to the point where she would instinctively care for her friends as well as her plants when they are in distress. Flora is the most mature member of the Winx as she possesses a deep sense of love, peace, happiness and tranquility. However, it is shown that Flora has an insecure side to her personality as she would have problems believing in herself at times. Her insecurity would sometimes cause her to hide most of her feelings to the point where she would have problems expressing them. Flora is one of the most diligent student at Alfea and is cautious of her actions. Although she has a kind-hearted side, she at times gets very angry at her enemies which can cause her to act quickly and show a more aggressive side of herself. As an older sister, she is shown to be quite overprotective who often forgets that people do mature and can protect themselves. Miele often has to deal with this side of Flora whenever the latter suspects a mission to be too dangerous. In this case, Flora has demonstrated some level of ignorance as this attitude tends to hurt Miele's feelings (Wiki). If you have read Flora’s personality, then you would have realized that Terra is just the same. Literally, there is very little I can add here… both of them are very calm, soft-spoken, caring, sweet, shy and genuine girls with sensitive personalities; both of them love plants and vegetation of all kinds; both are interested in experimenting with plants and their properties and creating potions; both love helping people; both have shown signs of insecurity and would have problems believing in themself at times. Terra’s insecurity would also sometimes cause her to hide most of her feelings to the point where she would have problems expressing them. Terra also shows quick responses when it comes to protecting her friends and herself and becomes more aggressive. I guess the biggest difference between them would be that Terra is insecure about her body, in Episode 2 this is clearly seen when she is unable to change in front of the rest of her friends. Overall, I do like Terra, in fact, I think is the best character of them all. I literally have no complains when it comes to her. I declare myself a big fan of Terra.
Tumblr media
The next character I am going to talk about is the new addition to the Winx World: Beatrix, who is supposed to embody The Trix in one person. Beatrix is an air fairy who can manipulate electricity (Wikipedia). Now, we all know that The Trix are a trio of witches who act as the main antagonists of the Winx Club series. The group is made up of three direct descendants of the Ancestral Witches, the most powerful and evil witches to have ever existed. They focus on what they are best at: acting maliciously and joining forces with the darkest villains the Magic Dimension has to offer (Wiki). These three witches are Icy, Darcy and Stormy and if my interpretation is correct, Beatrix would have the “looks” of Darcy, the evilness of Icy and the powers of Stormy, however as it was said before she is an air fairy which means that she can manipulate many aspects of the weather spectrum, so her actual powers can be a combination of Icy and Stormy’s. I still don’t know if she is evil or not… I mean, she helped Rosalind but that’s because she saved her when she was a baby so… I don’t know, we’ll see what happens with her in season 2 (if we get one). What we know about her is that she is a troublemaker, and she does not hesitate to kill if it’s needed. She is also a very powerful witch, powerful enough to temporarily damage the protection veil placed by Luna (queen on Solaria) upon Aster Dell and also powerful enough to control other people with electricity. Although we don’t have enough information about her or her background, I think she is a great addition to the adaptation and I’m hoping to see more of her.
Now that I have these characters out of the way I would like to talk about the plot. I actually watched the show trying to forget any knowledge I had about the Winx Club - which was not easy because I breathed Winx when I was a child, and after getting pass the fact that the storylines are completely different, I actually found myself enjoying the show. The plot is definitely a lot darker than Winx Club, but I guess it’s normal, after all this is aimed for young adults and not kids. As I said at the beginning of this post, I do think the show has potential: the plot is interesting and by the end of the show you find yourself seeking answers to all the open questions left. For example: Who is Rosalind and what does she want from Bloom? Why did she take her to Earth? What is going to happen between Stella and her mother? And Sky and his now-I am-not-dead-but-you thought-I was father? And what is going to happen with Silva? What is going to happen to the students of Alfea with Rosalind as Headmistress of the school? What is this war - mentioned by Rosalind in Episode 6 to Farah Dowling - that is about to come? Is Headmistress Dowling really dead? Will we be hearing more about blood witches? Who sent the Burned Ones after Bloom? And many more. I also think that having the Burned Ones as the monsters of this season is a great throwback tho the end of Winx Club’s season 1: if you remember in the war between The Trix and the Magic World, the three witches invoke the dark army to fight for them - these creatures are made purely of dark magic and slightly resemble the Burned Ones, although I am aware of the fact that they are not the same - Burned Ones are zombie-like figures that appear to be able to infect others by cutting them, in addition to possessing superhuman speed and strength.
I have to make a comment here, and that is that I think that the storyline was way too rushed, although I get that there’s so much one can show in 6 episodes of 40 minutes each. Still, I would have liked them to cut down the horny scenes between the characters and showed us more scenes of the main characters backgrounds, their stories, etc. I guess what I missed the most in this series was the friendship that characterized Winx Club. Although by the end of the first season the five girls are friends (in Episode 6 all of them go with Bloom to California to tell her parents that she is a fairy - emotional support - and stayed a few days there, and when they came back to Alfea they did it together laughing and smiling while reaching the school’s entrance), most of the journey that allowed the girls to reach that point was not shown - specially how they get along with Stella and the moments they shared prior to her leaving Alfea at the end of Episode 4. I would have liked to know the moments they shared, because all we got was the same bitchy Stella doing her own thing while the rest shared their moments, so when Stella tells her mother in the car “You could’ve let me say goodbye to my friends” I was left deeply confused and thinking ‘what friends?’… It was a missed opportunity and if there is a season 2 I would like them to show the moments the girls share and how their bond strengthens. Overall, I did like the show and would like to have more seasons with more episodes - 6 were not enough for me. I hope that, if the show gets picked up for another season, that the producers consider focusing more on the girls’ friendship and their stories. I also would like for the Winx to transform like Bloom did and that their wings improve (honestly Bloom’s wings were cool but a little bit meh, I actually think the trailer’s wings were better).
And that’s all my beautiful people, my review on Fate: The Winx Saga.
(Fun fact: Fate in Italian means fairies).

Are any of the villains going to get redemption arcs?
The narrative purpose of Darkar is that he is Evil, and Darkness, and Decay and that is his natural state. So in that regard he neither needs one nor would (I think) it be authentic to give him one.
I am changing the final battle in S3 and the exact method by which they defeat Valtor to something that could be seen as redeeming him but I don’t view it that way. I think he shouldn’t have one but for a very different reason to Darkar: Darkar is all of those things as his nature, Valtor is a villain because he chose to be one. He was set up by his mothers sure, but at every point it was his decision to keep going and I think having someone unwilling to change even at the bitter end is an interesting villain.
As for the wizards, I’ve probably thought about them the least. Given their history of doing truly horrendous things to fairies I think trying to give them any redemption runs the risk of minimising that ‘because it didn’t happen to the protagonists’ - a trope I see sometimes and hate.
Tritannus I think is one of the more likely villains to have a redemption arc applied to him. It also helps that I am restructuring S5 completely and throwing out most of the plot.
I’ve changed Selina from actual villain to anti-villain for the purposes of my rewrite, anti-villains and redemption is not something I’ve consciously seen before but I do plan for her to be redeemed but not like at the end of S6.
I am not including Kalshara and Brafilius because I’m not willingly watching S7 again. And I will write timetravel when someone puts a gun to my head and only then.
As for the Trix... I want to indicate that up until they were broken out of Light Rock the rehabilitation there was starting to work on Darcy. I think the Trix having the obvious capacity to be redeemed is important, because they come back so frequently. They’re villains but they’re still people.

Quick question, how do you feel about the Trix? I personally think the writers should have transitioned their characters from villains —> anti-heroes. The storyline about the Trix taking over Cloud Tower had so much potential to really speak on the social landscape of their relation to the rest of the magical beings!!!!! 🗣🗣🗣
My thoughts on the Trix are basically this: for the first season they were absolute badasses, especially since going into the show you kinda just expect them to be the stereotypical mean girl antagonists that are in every early to mid 2000s cartoon, but nope, they’re gonna take over the world and call your shoes ugly too. Their revealed connection with Bloom through the Ancestral Witches just added to their dynamic with the Winx. There’s a reason why the writers kept bringing them back for every season, they were just that iconic.
(not to say they weren’t still great in later seasons, but idk I preferred them doing their own thing over being the minions of Darkar/Valtor/Tritannus)
Personally, I don’t know how to feel about the idea of the Trix being developed into anti-heroes of sorts, even with Icy’s backstory in Season 8 I kind of go back and forth on, because on one hand it’s nice to take a bit more of a look into at least one of the Trix’s pasts, but at the same time I feel it could have been executed a bit better and to me it kind of conflicts with the previous seasons canon (the writers don’t care about that tho lmao).

Aisha Long ver 1
(some stuff is from the fan wiki i just tweaked)
Name: Aisha Arya Bayoumi
Looks: Aisha is a dark-skinned girl with a medium brown complexion, long, 4b dark brown hair, and cerulean eyes. She has very full lips.
Relationships: Shes mostly close to Flora and Musa, and her soulmate is Nabu
She shines in her normal, charmix, Enchantix and harmonix forms the most.
Personality: Adrenaline addict, but especially loves hiking because she was locked away for so long she loves the feeling of being in the open (she loves the courtyard of Alphea) she also loves freediving because of her merpeople cousins.
She is extremely opinionated and open minded. She is as intuitive like Stella, and when asked to, gives practical and pragmatic advice. She is also a talented dancer, athlete and speaks many different languages. The pixies trust her, and because of that Aisha is one of the few people who know the location of the Pixie Village. Aisha gives practical advice and always provides a shoulder to cry on. However, besides the other girls, she might even be the most sensitive of the crew. She has also been shown to be rather stubborn and impatient, which can get her into trouble by making her hold grudges and jump to conclusions. This could result from her isolated upbringing growing up, as she didn't really have many friends, aside from the Pixies and Anne, making her come off as a little anti-social at times when she first appeared.
Aisha was a bit boy-shy at the start. At the same time, Aisha dislikes Riven the most as she does not appreciate his attitude towards girls.
When Aisha joined forces with Nebula, she became the enemy of the rest of the Winx, being ready to allow Nebula to imprison Queen Morgana in the magic mirror where she was condemned to fade into the shadows, and the Wizards of the Black Circle as well even if the Winx tell her that Nabu would never have wished for her to choose Vengeance. They thought that she wanted to avenge the death of Nabu, but she was not cruel enough to go through with it. Throughout the season she still loves sports and is still determined and energetic. She does not stifle her sporty tomboyish side and still is ready and raring to go on an adventure.
She is the most physically gifted of all the Winx, but she is also capable of keeping up with, if not surpassing the Specialists, often demonstrated through her knowledge of various sports such as rock climbing, wind riding, and staffmanship. Being the princess of the Ocean Planet, Aisha is very skilled in many water sports such as swimming, surfing, and windsurfing, but is also a skilled dancer. Aisha is capable of holding her own in physical combat as she has been seen holding back a mutant and also capable of fighting on physical par with opponents.
History: Aisha was born as Crown Princess of the Lands of Andros to King Teredor and Queen Niobe. her relatives are King Neptune (uncle), Queen Ligea (aunt), Crown Prince Nereus, prince Tritannus, and princess Tressa (cousins) of the Seas of Andros.
Growing up, aisha was very sheltered and kept away from most people for her safety and education purposes. Thus she grew up very loney and becomes scared of being alone, especially in the dark. she had only 1 friend, Anne, who taught her how to let loose and dance, but had to move away. Aisha is a very well travelled princess despite her lonely and sheltered childhood, but her first time actually living away from home, was when she ran away to save the pixies from Darkar's lair and to Alphea, where she was accepted as a second year student after she convinced her parents to allow her to attend so that she can become a better fairy and future Queen of Andros.
her family was always very close to the pixies and visit every year. she was also not very close to her mer-people cousins except for the times they meet for reunion reasons or public appearance reasons and when they exchange letters. Her childhood friend anne was the daughter of one of her ladies in waiting, but they moved away when the lady herself passed on, forcing Anne to move away to live with her father.
Powers: Her magic is pinkish magenta in color. Aisha has water/ocean-based powers. Aisha can generate and control Morphix, a fuchsia-pink-coloured substance (likely of her own creation) composed of water molecules and that can morph into any shape or form desired. Aisha uses Morphix to create a variety of solid structures such as shields, ropes, bo staffs, nets, cages, surfing platforms, and even a roller rink. She can use Morphix as both a solid and liquid substance. Aisha has been shown to manipulate the consistency of her Morphix, with its forms such as bouncing rubber, flowing liquid, sticky goo, insulation barriers, super-powered counter-attacking walls, and more. Aisha has been known to create useful and elaborate things with Morphix, Her Morphix power can also manifest itself into spells, such as attacks. Additionally, Aisha is capable of separating water molecules to allow beings to breathe underwater and protect them from oceanic pressure and the cold.
Aisha also knows some basic, first-level spells that all fairies can use, such as telekinesis, transmuting objects, and fixing minor messes.
Aside from Morphix and plasma, Aisha can also manipulate and control water along with most forms of fluids, including drinks. Aisha is able to produce sticky slime to trap and restrain, while using bubbles to trap opponents, cushion impacts, and douse fires. As the Fairy of Waves, Aisha can also manipulate various aspects of the oceans, such as shifting the tides, controlling ocean currents, and generating tidal waves. She also possesses some weather-related abilities, such as conjuring rain showers, producing clouds for defence, and summoning miniature hurricanes.

Major Villains part 2!! The Wizards of the Black Circle, Valtor(baltor?), and Darkar/The Shadow Pheonix.
again, I changed a lot. I changed the Wizards’ signature color to green because i got SO TIRED of red and black villain color schemes. Also Valtor’s original outfit and hair was like. so bad. dont @ me you know im right.
The Wizards of the Black Circle are earthen born, and really really old, like crypt keeper old, older than Morgana, maybe as old as Faragonda. The reason they still look young is that they’ve retained use of their magic when the rest of the earth hasn’t, and they eat fairy wings. Wings are the outward manifestation of a fairy’s magic and form a sort of battery loop with the fairy’s natural magic production, sustaining and boosting for as long as the transformation is held. When ripped off, the loop is broken unnaturally and severely damages the fairy physically and mentally, usually they can’t transform again for a week to a month. The wings retain a large portion of magic, and by consuming them, the wizards supercharge their abilities and prolong their lives, if they had kept doing this eventually they would become faded like the ancestral witches in my other post, but it would take a while.
Ogron is from early Scotland, he was the one who forged the black circle out of iron. Iron is a notoriously difficult metal to enchant (the specialists ships and weapon bases are made of enchanted iron and are hard to destroy with magic). He practiced for years before successfully storing his magic in the black circle. He was always power hungry and calculated, he knew he wouldn’t be able to conquer the world without help, and began to seek out fellow wizards while spreading anti-fairy sentiments. It took him awhile to find people who were able to use the Circle with him, and went through a couple other Wizards before setting on the three others. He first found Gantlos in the Americas, the Anagan in Africa, and finally Duman in Southeast Asia. They all use the Black Circle as a magic vessel, and begin to actively hunt down fairies and other magic users or creatures. Morgana had only just taken the throne when they started, and as a young ruler, mistakenly believed these four posed no great threat and wouldn’t dare question her rule. However, the Wizards attacked Tir Nan Og and it’s sister island Neverland. They purposefully didn’t fully destroy everything, wanting to keep any magical artifacts intact for their own use, but did strike a serious blow to the benevolent magic users. Fear mongering lead to fewer people pursuing magic in hopes of not becoming a target. One of the Wizards’ only large scale attack was on Tir Nan Og, usually they prefered to lay traps and pick off solitary fairies. Eventually people began to shun magic users in common society, and many fled to the injured Tir Nan Og to avoid being attacked or killed. Morgana and all the fairies on Tir Nan Og placed a barrier around the island, and created the white circles out of glass and moonlight as keys. When the Wizards attacked the island again, they couldn’t break through the barrier with out completely draining the black circle, so instead they returned to their guerilla tactics, and attacked all the fairies bringing other people onto the island for safety. After they believed all the keys to be destroyed, they began to hunt down any fairies that might have escaped, using spells to track and locate sources of fairy magic all over earth. They eventually raised their power levels enough that they were able to surround Tir Nan Og’s barrier with one of their own, trapping the fairies in their own haven. They then spent the rest their time keeping an eye on the any potential magic users, placing more black circles around other sources of magic so it would be directly funneled into their reserves,  and manipulating governments and societies to their own will. They started several wars and were the cause of some natural disasters for the fun of it. Sometimes they take a break from ruling dull stupid humanity and will spend several decades sequestered away on an island or something. They also need break from each other and will go off on their own occasionally. They each have iron gall ink tattoos that keep them connected to the Black Circle.
Fun facts about the wizards because they’re like almost my fav villains. Ogron refuses to say whether his obnoxiously bright hair is dyed or not. Orgon usually prefers kilts, but tbh its hard to get a hold of one now-a-days unless you know how to use the internet. Orgons skirt is a shitty faux leather one from forever 21. Anagan is actually the most popular with the ladies~~ Gantlos is actually the oldest, and is potentially from before the Mayan civilization’s era. Duman is from Thailand and his skirt is technically a Sarung(which i think were used in Thailand but correct me if im wrong). Duman likes to change his hair color every couple years or so. Duman actually convinced Gantlos to dye his hair once but messed up the bleaching spell and oops now Gantlos is permanently blonde(and duman has one less rib) Anagan shaves his head every 20 years. The last time they were all involved in society was the 60s and they’re clothing reflects the mod/punk fashion at that time. Anagan and Duman barely tolerate each other in day to day situation, but their fighting styles actually complement each other pretty well. Ogron is a total narcissist and considers Gantlos the closest thing to an equal in the group. Gantlos spend the most time with duman so long as he’s not being too annoying(duman is basically the obnoxious little brother of all of them lmao)
Valtor isn’t “human” even in a loose sense of the word. He’s more like a homunculi created by the Ancestrals. As such he doesn’t need to eat or drink, tho he can enjoy both. He doesn’t necessarily have a “true form” as he can use his magic to mold and change his body as needed. His heart is a spark of the dragon flame and the shadow flame encased in the ancestrals magic. He was originally intended to be a servant, going out and physically searching for the dragon flame while the witches researched where the dragon could be hiding. He briefly took a young starstruck Ms Griffin on as an apprentice, but it didn’t last very long. After the witches were defeated he was still able to use remnants of their magic leaving him still very powerful, and connecting him to their spirits. He was defeated by Faragonda and the Company of Light, but being a homunculi powered by the dragon and shadow flame he couldn’t really be killed, so was banished to the frozen planet Omega as punishment. Valtor stores and channels his magic through his body, making him a sorcerer instead of a wizard. He resembles Dominians but this is thought to be because of his connection to the dragon flame.
Lord Darkar isn’t an ancient entity, but he does possess one. The Shadow Fire is the ying to the Dragon Fire’s Yang, and originally both were considered neutral, keeping the light and dark in balance. Domino’s royal bloodline passed both the Dragon and the Shadow from one generation to another, but a young prince sought to possess both of the flames and summon the ultimate power. He killed and stole the Shadow Flame from it’s bearer, tainting it with blood and violence. His murder was found out and defeated by the holder of the Dragon Flame, and thrown into the then newly formed Obsidian as an execution. While it was hoped he would die in Obsidian and the Shadow flame would pass to a more worthy bearer, Obsidian turned out to be a pocket dimension instead of a death sentence, and he emerged again, was defeated again, emerged yet again, decided to be a little smarter, and found the Ancestral Witches to do his bidding. However, the witches eventually betrayed him, and sought to possess the Dragon flame for themselves, they created Valtor with sparks of both so he would, hopefully, be protected to both powers. Darkar’s time in Obsidian tied him to the pocket dimension, so every time he’s defeated he gets sent back there lmao. Due to the “equal-opposite” rule, When Obsidian was formed was also when the Relix was created, it holds the only power strong enough(theoretically) to destroy Obsidian in the power crystal, but using it is more than likely to destroy you in the process so it was sealed away with the codex. After the Winx defeat him he’s not destroyed, just sent back to Obsidian. The only way to kill him would be to separate the Shadow Flame from his body, or use the water stars on him.

Winx Club Villains Rewritten
Strap the f*ck in because I’m about to take you into a realm of ‘if the villains were a little more fleshed out in Winx Club’
Shadow Phoenix
I feel he was the most WASTED villain the series had. He didn’t even come back, which would be true to his name ‘Phoenix’. I also felt like the Dragon Flame was basically the series’s equivalent of The Phoenix, so he just didn’t feel at his fullest either, plus he was working with the Trix, who could have given him a mega advantage, but they weren’t worth the tag team.
Rewritten: Lord Darkar/The Shadow Phoenix was a part of Domino’s royal soldiers before he died horribly to Valtor’s vicious attack on the planet. The royal family had been working with Valtor for years, which infuriated him, but he kept silent. All for the sake of heiress Daphne and his Honor, something he valued along with his life. Every so often, he’d see Daphne and would push aside his rage, but when he died, he felt stolen from by the royal family. He was given a second chance when the Phoenix put itself inside him and amplified his dim fire powers. With that, he ruled over the shadows as the ‘Shadow Phoenix’ a name coined because of his black armor that was scorned from Valtor’s flame. Daphne had once warned Bloom of him, but she never took into account that over his years of ruling, he stole fairy magic and other magical powers to amplified his already OP powers. His defeat was brought on by his greed of power and want to kill Bloom before he’d take over the omega dimension. But he would seal his powers away when defeated to resurrect in a later season to get revenge over both Bloom and the Winx.
Tritannus
He was honestly one of the worst villains. He could have been used better, but due to Nickelodeon’s involvement, he just lacked luster. And he, too, was with the Trix, which could have been used better than it already was.
Rewritten: Tritannus had heard about Aisha’s fiance’s death and decided to use that against her. After trying to claim the throne and failing, he threatened Aisha using Nabu’s name, which forces her to search more into it, to which he tells her that they were close friends, which they never were. He’d tell her that Nabu wouldn’t want her to do this to him. While he’s out getting his ‘precious’ toxins with the Trix and the Winx are trying to stop him every step of the way, Aisha is always reluctant to fight him because she’s torn up inside. Seeing Tritannus and thinking of Nabu, who she’d been so close to, just breaks her heart. The Winx are so worried about her that they even get The Specialists to talk with Aisha about how amazing Nabu was and how he would never want her to feel threatened or caged because of an enemy, and she gains the strength to fight back with him, ending with a 1v1 with her and Tritannus, where he lies through his teeth and tries using his newfound power to kill her, but she manages to get the upper hand and basically wound him before letting the legal courts do with him. It won’t satisfy her, but at least she’ll be at peace with herself about Nabu.
Meanwhile, during the season, Tritannus uses the new powers from the toxins to create a sort of humane form of himself to get to the other humans to acquire more toxins such as pollution rigs and oil rigs to dump more, dig more, and just make Earth a hellhole. He even goes to the magical courts to start up discourse, which only makes them argue more and not resolve anything, ample chance for him to have the Trix steal from the pillars and get him what he needs. He won’t need them in the end, so he’ll just admit that they were just being used and strip them of their powers, effectively making them rush away to get air. He is defeated because of Aisha and she overcomes his manipulation and lies.
Selina
Oh, f*cking boy!
Rewritten: Selina was the Royal Advisor of Daphne. When her parents sent her off with her sister during the attacks, Selina felt betrayed. She’d grown so close to this woman that when she escaped with her sister, she was filled with jealousy due to Daphne not taking her with her. A jealous rage that she took out on Bloom by coming to Gardenia to pose as a human and got close to her. Bloom loved her from the start. When Bloom leaves to Alfea, it’s like losing Daphne again. She schemes with Acheron for the longest time before he persuades her to join Cloudtower to enhance her dark arts, which she uses on the headmistress, and summons The Trix to protect her. Selina soon poses as a student of Alfea and uses her position as a student to talk to the Winx, basically pitting them against Bloom and Daphne, making them wonder if befriending them was horribly wrong. She tells them nasty tales and exaggerates the bad things Daphne has done and things Bloom will do, which pushes Bloom to do something heinous, maybe nearly getting a friend killed because she moves out of the way of an attack or something like such. That cements their feelings.  The group starts emotionally debating while the Trix take Bloom and Daphne, where Selina has her ‘big bad speech’ while the Winx are attacked by the newly resurrected Acheron at full power. She tells them about herself and then admits that she had feelings for Daphne, but, of course (because Daphne has a fiance), is rejected and Bloom uses her Bloomix powers to attack her. Selina is ultimately defeated when the Winx gang up on her after they had enlisted The Trix’s help (shocker) when they (Trix) learn they were just guinea pigs for Selina and Acheron’s plan, but Daphne is the one to tell them that she forgives the advisor. Kiss kiss, make up. It gives the audience a lesbian character, and Selina gets somewhat what she wanted. To be with Daphne.
Valtor is perfectly fine for me. He’d be better off without sidekicks, but he is better off. The Wizards were just fine. And season 7 villains are just not my taste.
Bonus:
The Specialists’s arcs
They could have been more important. Especially with Tritannus’s and Valtor’s villain arcs. They felt like Ken to Barbie for me. They maybe had something that could flesh them out, but not enough for us to feel invested completely with them or even feel they are relatable. Like Riven could have had a tragic home life which is the reason for his negative attitude. Brandon was always spoiled and felt so mighty about it and being around Stella, a spoiled princess, kinda made him think about himself and how he is spoiled. Timmy could try fighting his anti-socialness, just like Helia, but Timmy’s arc could possibly play out like Pidge Gunderson from Voltron: Legendary Defenders. He’d have to have a reason to follow The Specialists and The Winx (aside from Tecna). Helia could possibly feel neglected from the Headmaster of Red Fountain’s eye and want attention, but he’s been so isolated from his feelings that Flora just brings them out. He's confronted by the headmaster and he tells him that ‘You’ve never loved me like you cared for me.’ Sky, well... He’s already had a pretty decent arc. Maybe more on his relationship with his dad?
I digress. Before you start commenting that ‘It’s a kid show’, this show was meant for pre-teens and teens. Complicated arcs and more fleshed out characters are something we as teens would have loved to see from a big named show such as this one. Kids can be included. The show could have dove deeper into things such as Musa’s pain from losing her mom and seeing other moms such as Bloom’s or Gardenia moms, Aisha’s PTSD from being with Lord Darkar/Shadow Phoenix, Bloom having to integrate between her biological family and learning customs and her old family and keeping them well informed. I’m leaning more in-depth, not just an episode and it’s swept under the rug. For Ra’s sake, Bloom turned to the dark side and it wasn’t used to the full extent and Aisha even joined the dark side in Believix. We could have seen more from their perspective and how they felt about it.
This was just an opinion from an old 2011 fan of Winx Club. Have a good day and thank you for reading this lengthy rant.

Winx Club Season 2 Thoughts (4kids) Part 2
Since my thoughts are a bit scattered with this season and the post was getting long, I decided to separate them in two posts. You can find Part 1 here. This part picks up from 2x14:
- Ugh, pls no. Diaspro. Dammit.
- She’s making laws about fashion? What are this girl’s parents doing and why are they allowing this? She has them as confirmed later on in the episode so why is she making laws when she’s apparently not responsible enough to be given that power?
- Ooh, weather spells. Those look really good. I already said this but I am so happy that we get to see them have classes and learn new magic. It’s really cool and I am so totally here for it!
- Why isn’t Stella going with them?
- I can’t stand Sky’s parents. They are absolutely terrible. And the way Samara shouted at Bloom... jeez, rude! I know you’re a queen, but my god, have some fucking manners, will you? Sky turned out spectacularly considering these two are his parents. (So I might have a theory that he’s adopted.) Probably because they just left him to the servants to look after him which was most certainly his lucky day bc he was raised by good people. I am not even sorry for all this bitching. Erendor and Samara are the fucking worst and you can’t convince me otherwise.
- Also, to keep at this, he was about to introduce his girlfriend to them and they’re just there like “I hope he falls in love with Diaspro again”. Why are you such horrible people and parents?
- Seriously, Bloom? Why would he want to introduce you to his parents if he wanted Diaspro? Ugh, I can’t anymore with this.
- Oooh, nice! I see Bloom and Flora have learned some things in Griselda’s classes. And Brandon didn’t turn into shredded cheese so that was great too.
- Why the sudden change in Diaspro? I mean, not that I mind. She could be such an awesome character if they would just give her a proper arc and character development, and let it stick too. It was just weird. Might have been just Flora’s influence. I would love to believe that. And the fact that Diaspro isn’t heartless and actually listened when the Wrong Righters put things in perspective for her. Btw can we talk about how amazing her design is and how beautiful she is? (Also, Chatta don’t encourage her.)
- Even Sky admitted his parents are terrible. “They’re not usually that nice”? Boy, I feel so sorry for you, Sky.
2x15:
- Damn, I love how Musa defeated Stormy! And those were the runes Palladium taught them about. That’s awesome! I love!
- Wow. That was some makeover there with Stormy.
- Brandon is giving out kisses? And Stella agreed to that? Wow, okay. Stella is feeling very generous today. XD
- Poor Musa! It’s hard when parents are being like that. I get that he is still grieving but damn, that doesn’t mean he should make her cry. And threatening her to withdraw her from Alfea and her friends. That’s just cruel.
- Ahh, some clarity has finally been shed into the princess matter. So she’s unofficially a princess. Okay. I got it now.
- Aww, that dream seemed pretty bad. Poor baby. And that part about “everything in me is music” and her resolve to do what she loves... I’m fucking crying! *sobs* Why is it that Musa and Layla always get the rawest arcs?
- Wow, Codatorta is all black-tie? XD
- Seriously, how did Stella let her go out on stage with that outfit?
- Why do they always have to use their parents against them? I am so mad about this. But awwwwwwwww at the singing part! And look, Riven is hyping people up. And he met her dad. And her dad is okay with her singing. Awwww! (Just so you know, I am still crying.)
- You gotta love the animation mistakes, though. Faragonda started out next to Saladin, then she was a seat away, and then she moved over an entire row. Nice one! Why is no one looking for continuity?
- Aww, Stella and Layla hugging Musa. And then the song with Stella was cute!
2x16:
- I couldn’t find the 4kids version of 2x16 (meaning I couldn’t be bothered to look for it more extensively because it was late and, of course, I will watch the creepiest episode right before going to bed) so I watched the RAI dub and I won’t be going into any detail here. This is pretty much the one episode that has been sealed into my brain ever since I was little. I always loved it because it was so nicely creepy (though, I am not sure how exactly I handled it when I was a child (I’m not exactly big on horror if you haven’t grasped it already since the episode isn’t really that scary but I still find the part with the “three sisters” kinda scary with the way they talk and Winx being cornered by them)). I liked the way the legend was built and that with the mirrors cracking was actually kinda cool. Also, I love the moment everyone starts fawning over Winx’s “costumes” and Mitzi can’t get any attention. And yeah, good lesson that the way you read the signs may not be true to what they’re actually pointing to.
2x17:
- (I already talked quite a bit for 2x17 and 2x18 last year when I rewatched them so I will not go into that much detail about them either... Or will I?)
- And even despite that, I absolutely can’t not mention that scene with Griffin and Faragonda in the beginning of 2x17 bc it is so goddamn dramatic and extra and Griffin just teleported to Alfea to make a 20-second scene (I counted them because, yes, I am that obsessed with this scene) and then disappeared again. I love!
- Lol, Ediltrude and Zarathustra, I can’t. They are so obviously sisters. I don’t get it, though. If Cloud Tower doesn’t take well to intruders, why did it let the Trix take over it and was kinda helping them even before they started sending energy in its veins? Is it because they’re witches and studied there so it doesn’t consider them intruders? Also, I love how the thing about Cloud Tower being a living organism has never come up before nor did it ever again.
- Aww, poor Mirta. But hey, she and Lucy finally fixed that friendship. That was actually kinda cute. I liked it. Lucy didn’t have to be such a bitch even if she was feeling betrayed but I actually get it so... All is well when it ends well, right?
- Stormy really doesn’t know how to manage her emotions, does she? Someone get her some therapy, please. She’s going to explode if she keeps bottling everything up.
- Aww, poor Lucy. The way Stormy blasted her. I feel really bad for her. And she was so scared (rightfully so). Somebody help her. (and get her therapy too)
- I am not really a fan of the catfight spell idea. I think they could’ve just let Winx disagree simply because they disagreed. They are friends but they can have different opinions. They don’t have to be under a spell to have a reason to argue.
- Oh, so Griffin can sense there’s someone at her door but she can’t fucking tell when some other shit is happening at her school. Makes total sense.
- Poor Lucy, though. She was so scared.
- What the heck was Stella doing anyway? She was just sitting around without doing shit. Was that the genius plan, hon?
- Okay, why did Bloom decide she could handle the Trix on her own when all of Winx couldn’t really beat them together?
- Yeah, Griffin can put a spell that the Trix can’t get through around the Heart of Cloud Tower but she can’t send her own energy into its veins to make Cloud Tower itself kick them out. Makes perfect sense.
- Layla and Musa actually teaming up with the witches was really cool. And they would’ve won too if the Trix didn’t get the statues to fight for them. (I actually liked the witch lounge btw.)
- Seriously, look at the Trix’s powers. How do Winx keep getting away from them? Darcy can legit blind people with that optical darkness spell. How have they not won with ease yet? But yeah, why destroy her immediately when we can wait for her friends to show up and save her? Sounds good.
2x18:
- “Is that Miss Griffin?” Can’t you see? Of course, it is.
- I gotta say that at least she was smart enough not to put the Codex with the Heart. Because as we saw, that was way too easy to figure out
.- “Forget about them” Yeah, so they can try and kill you. Nice one, Flora!
- Why is Stella so bitchy in these episodes? What is the problem, Stella? Why can’t you just chill? Aaaand... Now they’re trapped. Great!
- Can we talk about the fact that Griffin’s plan saved all their lives? So yeah, “wicked”. Right. Never mind they would’ve died otherwise. Although, why the hell didn’t she take the other teachers with her? Surely that would’ve made getting control of the tower back easier. Why doesn’t anyone do anything smart dammit?
- So Darcy can make herself look like Griffin but she can’t make herself sound like Griffin? Is that it? That’s what I’m getting from this scene because she didn’t try to talk to Lucy and Mirta.
- “We’re in the classroom that belongs to that weird witch teacher.” Which one? I think they all fall under that category so you’re going to have to be a bit more specific.
.- Poor witches. Getting eaten by their own school. I hope Griffin will get them some therapy after that.
- Oh yeah, now the Trix are stronger. Even though they were losing against Layla and Musa in the previous episode.
- How will going back to their dorm rooms help when the entire tower is going insane? This doesn’t make any sense.
- Oh, look! Just a simple deduction was all it took to figure out the location of the Codex. Easy peasy, right?
- Yeah, let’s do convergence when we don’t fucking know what we’re trying to do. Nice one, you guys! Also, poor Discorda. But why does Cloud Tower have a pixie? This is so weird. Though, kinda good I guess since they’d been trying to make out the witches all evil and having a pixie there is a step in the right direction.
2x19:
- Yeah, just keep blasting without focusing your energy. ‘Cause that’s totally effective. Also, ugh, why Avalon again?
- Aww, Bloom saw Marion and Oritel. And of course she doesn’t remember the dark force in her dream. It would’ve been so easy.
- Why the hell would Bloom listen to Locket, you know? (I mean, she had a point about Locket trying to look into people’s hearts but still.)
- Poor Timmy. He doesn’t know what to do and now that. At least he’s not mad at Bloom. (In all fairness, it wasn’t her fault.)
- And that makeover didn’t do much good. But of course not, when Avalon lied to them about what they should do.
- Bloom, I know you’re not yourself, but for the love of everything sacred, stop destroying the books! This is hurting me!
- Damn, she got shrunk. And is still causing trouble.
- Oh, that chase in the pages of the book was actually kinda cool.
- I think Winx should have just put their everything into stopping her earlier. i know they didn’t want to fight her but it was obvious they wouldn’t be able to get through to her and that she was spelled big time.
- That with the pixie kiss was kinda weird but cute. And yeah, sure, Bloom is grateful to Locket for sticking with her but still won’t listen to her about Avalon. Will it kill you to be a little more mindful of the man?
2x20:
- Okay, that vacation idea was so random. Although it looks like it was necessary. They just didn’t stop fighting.
- Yeah, sure the boys can’t socialize. Who is even watching to make sure that they won’t? Please.
- Ugh, Avalon, the absolute bitch. Of course he’s pretending to be poisoned.
- Aww, that Riven and Sky friendship moment was really cute. And Sky lying to him about Musa but then hitting the actual tree Riven was warning him about. XD And Layla beat them both, lol.
- Palladium blushing like that at Avalon. Hmm... I wonder what he needed that love potion for. I hope he knows that that isn’t exactly ethical.
- Okay, so how the hell did they have time to sew their suits together? That just doesn’t make sense but okay. At least they stopped fighting.
- And of course, why the hell would anyone tell them that such a thing as Charmix exists? That is totally not relevant. Not to mention that they should’ve gotten it earlier. Bloom should have gotten hers back in season 1 when she learned who she was and accepted it and Musa should have gotten her at the concert in Red Fountain. But of course, that only appears now. I mean, makes total sense.
2x21:
- Yeah, it’s a realm free of magic but because your Gloomix multiplies your magic, you’ll still have some. That’s just... not how it works. If it’s a realm free of magic, there shouldn’t be any magic. Otherwise, it simply is a realm that consumes your powers but if you can find a way to keep them above a certain level, you can still have them.
- Okay, but if I was Layla, I would feel bad about Stella feeling bad but I wouldn’t blame myself. She couldn’t have known. It’s not that she’s bad at friendship. But hey, at least Stella told her how she feels and she got her Charmix.
- Okay, yeah, Darcy has the power of mindcontrol but they still haven’t won. Yeah, makes perfect sense.
- Aww, it was sweet of Brandon to talk to Musa about Riven. And she told him how she felt and got her own Charmix. That was cute.
- “My lips kinda hurt.” Smooth one, Brandon.
- And they’re at the edge of a cliff now. Damn what a (literal) cliffhanger of an ending.
- Oh, no. Poor Layla just fell off the cliff like that. And now she can’t climb back.
2x22:
- Well, at least the Charmix reloads itself quickly. Even if it also gets exhausted quickly.
- Aww, Layla also got her Charmix. That was actually a very heartfelt moment. It almost made me cry.
- And Tecna finally admitted her feelings for Timmy. Now if only Flora can do the same with Helia.
2x23:
- Aww, the pixies are sick. Poor babies.
- Real Avalon at last. Fucking finally. Also, that spell was super freaky but it’s got me thinking about what you’d have to do to perform it... And now I’m getting ideas here.
- Oh, they’re getting special training for the Charmix now? Never mind that they weren’t even told that thing existed. Makes so much sense. (I don’t know why I’m surprised anymore.)
- I know Faragonda was trying to encourage Flora but it felt more like she was scolding her and was being disappointed by her tbh.
- Awww, Griselda said she’s proud of Flora! That is so cute! Also, I love how even Griselda can see that Helia is so into Flora but Flora herself can’t.
- Oh, pixies are born from the flower of life? That’s... kind of weird but okay.
- Flora finally told him! Great! I can’t help it at the moment when she yelled after him and then was like “Opps, he heard me. What do I do now?” XD And she also got her Charmix. That’s gotta be one of the best days for her.
- You mean Faragonda never asked to see the letter she sent to Avalon even though she is well aware Darkar is out there and is doing literally everything to get his hands on the Codex? My god, what epic dumbassery, I can’t. Seriously, they could’ve just handed him the Codex, it wouldn’t have been much worse than what they’re doing now.
- What does he want? Gee, I don’t know. The Trix were after Bloom and Avalon’s been preying on Bloom since the very beginning (and they even figured out he was the one who turned her evil) but what the hell could he want? Beats the hell out of me. At least Tecna finally put it together. And, of course, it is too late.
- Poor Stella, running around with that glass of water like that.
2x24:
- Aww, the pixies want to go too. That’s... probably not the best idea but it’s not like they can do anything about it.
- Poor Brandon! I think Sky would be scared, too, if he’d been through what happened to Brandon. (Not that he wasn’t already. XD)
- Tecna a few episodes ago: “Just because I come from a technology-based realm doesn’t mean that I don’t have emotions.” Tecna in this ep: “Consider me your new computer.” Amazing.
- Aww, that dragon was kinda cool. Too bad it tried to kill them.
- Oh, look! Flora’s got this! Nice! And we saw her Charmix.
- Brandon probably shouldn’t have said that about Sponses (did I even get his name right?) But they were in luck there with Sky’s attack taking out both Amentia and the guard.
- Okay, Stella’s plan wasn’t completely solid but they still pulled off that emergency take-off so... that’s okay.
- And Bloom is dark now. He just literally sent darkness into her heart, wtf.
2x25:
- Oh, damn! The Trix really upgraded these monsters. But now they’re drained, I kinda feel bad for them. I know they’re evil but dammit, they worked for their rewards and they aren’t going to get anything because Darkar is like that. Why is he so obsessed with Bloom? This is getting creepy again.
- Awww, Riven is being so supportive and such a team player! I love this! Can we let this fucking stick goddammit?!
- Oh, damn! Helia absolutely pulled off that rescue! Nice!
- Awwwwww, Griselda being there like “Our kids” is literally the most adorable thing ever! I love. And thank fucking god Faragonda finally decided to go help. It was about damn time. (Especially considering the stupidity with Avalon. (I am still not over that.))
- Hey, the convergence is working this time! Cool!
- Aww, Saladin can’t go with them bc of health issues. :/ (Though, pretty convenient that they had to take Codatorta considering what happened later on.)
- That goodbye was so cute! Brandon with that cheesy line! XD And Helia and Flora’s first kiss! But hey, what do you mean Tecna and Timmy don’t get a kiss? I know they already kissed once but give them a proper goodbye at least. And I am absolutely ready to cry over Riven and Musa!!!! He finally admitted his feelings! And that hug! I also liked the Layla and Sky moment, however short it was.
- Damn, Kerborg is... That thing. I liked him more as a... bat (thingy?). And they are in trouble but at least the teachers showed up on time this time. (kind of)
2x26:
- Yeah, “completely under control”, sure.
- “The ultimate power couple”? Um... Ew?!
- And they’re splitting up. But eh, it all works out so... good for them.
- I gotta admit I am not a fan of that thing with the colors that Stella did. It felt like she couldn’t be useful for anything else so they just shoved that in there. Nice one, you guys. Also, what do you mean that they don’t have straight As? After the shit they go through, how can anyone write them any mark different than A tbh? I mean, they saved the universe. What more do you want from them?
- The boys are catching up with them, too. Nice.
- “His confidence is bigger than his abilities,” Well, yeah, you’re not wrong there. XD Also, aww, damn! :/ They just killed Kerborg. So sad! (Alexa play Despacito.)
- Oh, damn! That Trix convergence is... creepy. But kinda cool. I like it.
- Riven sacrificed himself for Musa! (Could’ve just pushed her out of the way but anyway.)
- And Sky dropped the L word. And it had the desired effect. His speech was actually rather cute. I liked that part about him feeling the goodness of her heart when she healed him back in Red Fountain.
- Griffin and Faragonda’s shield is holding up well. Their convergence is also super powerful.
- Speaking of convergence, that was some amazing sync between Winx. And they wiped him off the face of the universe. I love how nobody is talking about the fact that they just killed a guy. Granted a very possessed guy, but still.
- Aww, Faragonda and Griffin toasting together was so cute. “Griffy”. I can’t. XD Same for Codatorta and Knut arm wrestling.
- I am so happy for Layla and that she finally has friends. Also, look at her being all matchmaker with Riven and Musa. Aww, and Piff said her first word!
- Tecna and Timmy and Helia and Flora were so cute! And of course we can’t forget about Stella and Brandon who are the king and queen of cheesy romance. XD (I love them! They are so made for each other.)
- Aww, Bloom gave Kiko little wings! That was so adorable. Also, good to see him again. And I do believe that was her first kiss with Sky (honestly, I don’t pay much attention to them). But they just had to hijack the photo like that.
This season was definitely better than I expected. Did it have a shitton of stuff that didn’t make sense? Well, yes. But was it engaging? Mostly. I would’ve loved it more if Avalon and Darker weren’t pissing me off so much but there was some solid action and heartfelt moments. Also, Layla is really cool and I’m glad they decided to include her and that she found her place in the group. I don’t really love the Charmix as much as I used to when I was little but damn if the Gloomix doesn’t still rock hard! And you gotta love the actual classes we got to see! So I actually liked this quite a lot.
