What’s with TG stans bragging about Aegon keeping his king title?

It’s a patriarchal system. It’s standard procedure.

It doesn’t signify that he was the rightful king, especially since he is continuously referred to as a usurper long after.

Maegor kept his king title too, even though he was also a usurper. You see him as a winner because of that? He lost everything. He had no legacy. He had no heirs to continue his bloodline and he died a most pathetic death (just like Aegon).

Aegon’s situation was actually much worse because his enemies (the Blacks) had defeated his forces and were coming to King’s Landing in order to dethrone him.

Basically, Aegon keeping his title was pure luck. He was already defeated. But he was so hated, he ended up poisoned. No one in the Red Keep had the patience to see him through a trial.

Aegon the Uncrowned was the rightful king and yet he wasn’t granted the title he deserved in histories because his usurping uncle killed him. Rhaenyra, the rightful Queen, was also killed by a usurper and then this guy himself declared her a Princess (something which wasn’t changed later on for the sake of peace).

So, the way I see it, it wasn’t the Realm who decided on these titles. It was Aegon himself. But as proven by Asoiaf history, titles are meaningless, especially when everyone knows who the true monarch was.

The fact that Aegon II was already burnt to hell in his battle against Rhaenys BEFORE a 13-years-old Baela doled out more damage at Dragonstone. The guy only knew losses. 

And didn’t this same guy think it would be better for him to start cutting pieces off his 10-years-old nephew to intimidate those going against him by Alicent’s suggestion because he got scared and rageful ? 

But sure, let’s praise a sadistic coward like him.

The Greens would praise Aegon for anything. But facing a grandma and her dragon with two dragons and fighting a 13 year old on top of a dragon that isn't even the size of a war horse is not bravery.

TG stans: Viserys can't choose his heir just like that! King doesn't have this privilege! Andal Law says...!

Aegon I - conqueror

Aenys I - firstborn, but from the second marriage, and polygamy is not practiced in Westeros (is this also andal law?) so theoretically, the true heir should be Maegor - the son from the first marriage

Maegor I - usurper who appointed Aerea as heir

Jaehaerys - andal law seems to say that a daughter inherits before her uncle, so Jaehaerys is theoretically a usurper, because the throne belongs to Aerea

Viserys I - was literally CHOSEN as heir, although Rhaenys had more rights to the throne according to andal law

So... the laws of inheritance and andal laws could be broken many times, but not when it is to be done to the benefit of the woman...?

Blood & Cheese was not about getting revenge on Aemond. Daemon didn’t want to hurt Aemond (he got his personal revenge later hehe), B&C was about AEGON THROWING A FEAST. Daemon wanted Aegon to feel exactly how Rhaenyra, and the blacks were feeling. He wanted AEGON to be hurting. Honestly Daemon probably didn’t even think about Helaena.

The show will probably make it seem like it’s about Aemond, but canonically, it’s because of Aegon.

An eye for an eye, a son for a son. That’s what it’s about. Aegon fucked around, and he found out.

Nobody is justifying B&C, but Aegon throwing a feast to celebrate the death of a child, the death of the child of the Queen no less, is the reason why B&C happened. And it’s the consequences of his actions. Sorry but that’s the truth.

I’m not justifying B&C but compared to ALL the other shit that Team Green has done, B&C isn’t comparable.

Daeron killing thousands and then letting his men rape and murder innocent women and children at Tumbleton and Bitterbridge. Aemond completely burning the Riverlands. Team green collectively has probably killed thousands more innocent children than Team Black but y’all stay trying to justify them.

Team Green loves to use Helaena as a moral scapegoat to justify the actions of Team Green and to claim Team Black is the worse of the two. It’s so crazy because if the roles were reversed and if Team Black had B&C happened to Jace, Team Green would be making jokes, justifying the absolute fuck out of it, creating extremely lame and unoriginal nicknames, etc etc.

team green discourse is so wild because on tumblr it’s “alicent was a victim of rhaenyra’s MENTAL ABUSE because rhaenyra did not tell the truth about her son’s parentage” and you’re like ok someone has a victim complex they’re projecting onto fictional characters moving on and then you get to team green TikTok and they’re making aegon ii edits to hitler speeches and then you’re just like. oh.

So satisfying to know that every member of Team Greens is dying like shit / having a pathetic death. 🤭

This is simply the most disgusting comment I've read today from an anonymous person who commented on a green profile that is blocked because I can block it if I don't want to read nonsense like this.

However, this came to me from another blog here.

And this comment gave me a "fuck Dyana, I really like Aegon" vibe.

Using the excuse that he is a complex character to defend rape is stupid, considering that all the characters are complex.

And it's funny, because even though some TG say that Viserys is a demon for abusing Alicent, none of them ever bring up what Aegon did to a girl of no more than 15 years old.

Please TG who defend rape, find better excuses.

It's hilarious how TG fans don't get how A. Rhae's boys are all legal claimed by THE KING and their paternal grandfather and B. if believed, the king would have had to put ALL OF THEM (including baby Joffery and a five- and six-year-old) to death or exile. While Aemond is a kinslayer of a peace envoy and was a little boy and SUPPOSE to be granted protection from harm due to being a peace envoy.

See I think they do know, they just don't care. TG stans only care about morality and honestly if they can try to use it to make their favs look better.

To them, Rhaenyra daring to choose the father of her children and not getting the punishment they believe she deserves is worse than anything Aegon and Aemond have done. They believe that Luke, a literal child and envoy, deserved his death simply because his parents weren't married.

It doesn't matter that in the eyes of the law, historians, and literally every lord except the greens, Luke is Laenor's son. It doesn't matter that his life and those of his brothers and mother were constantly put in danger by what they were saying. Yes, everyone knew, but no one gave a flying fuck, and that pisses them off. Everyone should follow the same archaic and repressive ideals Alicent adores, except when they apply to men.

It is disturbing that they want to compare Rhaenyra protecting her children from that harpy named Alicent and her monstrous sons to Aemond murdering an unarmed boy. Aemond attacked Luke unprovoked while he was under the protection of Westerosi laws and conventions (protection of envoys and kinslaying). Like mother like son I suppose. Aemond is a mommy's boy, so it's no surprise he'd emulate her blatant disrespect and disregarding of actual laws and the lives of innocents.

the complete and utter irony of aegon waging war against a woman to be the ruling monarch, along with the only two battles he fought in being against women (well, one woman and a child); then being left with just a little girl as his heir at the end of it all, unable to produce any more sons and refusing to name his daughter as his successor. every decision he made, from agreeing to usurp the throne to murdering rhaenyra, concludes with her son being declared king, and his life ending due to a woman’s weapon. poetic justice if i do say so myself.

Do you really believe that Aegon should have been sent to the wall for raping a maid? For God's sake. HE'S A PRINCE. IN THE MIDDLE AGES. A maid IS A THING. Alicent did more for Dyana than anyone would have done and Aegon got punished more than anyone else. Dyana was lucky that she was not poisoned so that she would not spoil the prince's reputation.

after his castration or banishment maids would be safe from him, i'll remind you that as a queen alicent was obligated to protect them and she did not. doing the bare minimum (even if, as you claim, no one else would do even that) is not enough and doesn't make her actions right in that situation
