“the dance isn’t about misogyny” one, if rhaenyra had been born with a dick the dance would have effectively been prevented (or at least stalled). male!rhaenyra would be seen as the undisputed heir to the throne, and if viserys still ends up marrying alicent (but this is an IF situation because aemma might not even die if v has no reason to keep pushing her for a male heir) the *only* excuse she would have to help usurp the throne is for her own want of power. the ‘my children will be in danger!’ line will not work and no one (besides maybe a few upstarts) will back her.

two, aegon had the chance to name a female heir after he murdered rhaenyra and didn’t. both of his sons were dead, his enemy was dead, the only other living male targaryen that he knew of was his captive. it’s *almost* like aegon knew he backed himself into a corner all on the basis of usurping a woman and couldn’t then name jaehaera as his heir. it probably didn’t help that he knew his days were numbered too once word reached the remaining green council of cregan’s army. he *quite literally* fucked himself. repeatedly. an embarrassing number of times, really. dude kept his massive loser persona in tact right up until the very end. props to him for that i guess.

I know this, and although I still condemn the act, fictional or not, amazingly: at the beginning of the series, I had empathy for Aegon and recognized that having a mother like Alicent was not easy for him.

At first I thought they were going to cover up his cases of harassment against the maids (why is this rumor so strong in the book) , so I became calmer, until Diana appeared and MANY, not one or two, MANY, accused Diana and even Alicent (I believe that perhaps due to the clear lack of demonstration of sadness and empathy) and we also realized, indirectly, that Helaena probably went through the same thing as Diana, and this ALSO is simply forgotten.

My points have always stood out as everyone forgets this, because the actor who played Aegon is beautiful and that's it, little is said about when this should be discussed more and put into light.

I don’t like to compare suffering, but I think it is insane that this person thinks that Lucerys cutting out Aemond’s eye is worse than Lucerys being murdered by Aemond. I also have a hard time feeling sympathy for Alicent when she wanted a child mutilated because he cut out Aemond’s eye in order to protect his older brother. Besides Aemond started it by stealing Vhagar and insulting Rhaena.

I have the slight impression that the producers are going to make all of Helaena's suffering pass on to Alicent, and honestly if that happens as it clearly seemed in the trailer, I'll jump on board from my window.

Despite it being something only supposed, this would bother me deeply, considering that the producers have already taken away/put things into us about Alicent that simply weren't necessary at all.

Comparative suffering is something stupid, but I hope they don't take from one to praise the other, considering that one is personally involved, the other is not.
