It is not a sky-sized creature, but much bigger than the sky. Where her gaster should have been is only an endless branch like the 'Trees' our elder queen has told us of as larvae. Perhaps The Disturbance is a tree? More heresy! I despair. Who will save this little ant? Do trees have six legs? They must. But then what is The Disturbance?"

do you ever worry that ant dentists (being dentists that are humans that simply perform on ants) reach to pull out their ant sized mirrors to look in the ant’s mouth, but accidentally pull out their regular human-sized mirror instead, and burn the ant?? The ant mind isn't like our mind. It's smaller, alien, vastly different.

But ants make decisions, ants have moods, ants learn, ants have goals and use multiple attempts and strategies to achieve them.

So it's important to recognize that the ant mind exists, but also recognize that there is very little we can understand about what that might be like from our own experience.

I love working with the idea that because Donald & Della were thrust into Scrooge's adventuring lifestyle at such a young age (and lost the support and buffer that their parents might've provided), Della embraced a life of danger to the point where she doesn't know how to handle real-world responsibilities, while Donald only sees the danger and tries again and again to live a normal life (wanting to stop hunting Santa, going to college and joining the 3 caballeros, abandoning scrooge after Della took the Spear, etc.) only to keep getting dragged back in
