I actually think it will be a summer wedding, because after 2 years of travel restrictions upcoming summer is the first real opportunity to have a international wedding. A winter wedding is more risky because no one really knows how things will go in the upcoming winter. New variants might cause new problems and someone like Taylor's mother will be more vulnerable in the winter.

I saw a theory on reddit about maybe Arajin having suffered child abuse in relation to his father, you know, I don't know if the anime goes this way but I'm a little incredulous about this theory because it's a sensitive topic of triggers. Sorry, send this question, I know this topic is a little sensitive, but I really like your analysis. I would appreciate it if you answered. If you can't answer, I'll understand too.

hmm i'm a bit incredulous myself, given how little time would be left in the series to properly deal with a new aspect of arajin's character and how flippantly his father is treated by ara's mother in the most recent episode. i don't think this idea is totally misguided, though. in fact, I think it's probably likely we get some justification for ara's father's absence in either episode eleven or twelve, since ten bothered to bring him up at all.

personally, I think a more likely backstory is that ara's father left at some point, and that impacts ara as a person by way of his warped desire for 'forever romance' (someone correct me if some outside source contradicts this reading). an abandonment would tie in neatly to arajin's own issues with running away from adversity. it would be a cool character moment for ara to finally analyze why he acts the way he does and actively try to change it in the finale. it could also be a potential bonding moment with senya. we're definitely going to be getting the ichiya senya breakup lore in episode eleven, so a moment of reciprocal vulnerability from ara could be a road to his relationship with senya growing stronger.

as an aside: now that i'm thinking about it, ara and his mother are quite similar. they're both comedically hopeless romantics. his mother seems to still be totally smitten with his father despite him seemingly being out of the picture (long work trip? left? dead???), which directly reflects arajin's dedication to mahoro.

of course whether arajin was abused or abandoned by his father or not; this is all in the moment speculation. if someone likes this theory and it helps them to better relate to/understand arajin's character, more power to them!

* Legend of Shen Li is almost universally liked. I don't know that I encountered a real hater. Don't turn that into sky high expectations that can't be met, though. It's simply a solid xanxia romance with a very strong landing - 1 full length episode dedicated to the happy ending, instead of the xanxia standard 1 minute. The most high god in the universe x demon general who is engaged to heaven's notorious playboy that's terrified of her. and who is temporarily a chicken. (just go with it) The main couple have chemistry & are very capable actors. Rarely do I make it thru a xanxia without ever being consumed with rage at some awful thing the plot has one of the main couple perpetrate on the other... but this one passed! The main actress is convincing as an immortal warrior.

* Blossoms in Adversity is NOT universally liked, tbh it got almost no traction on tumblr. But despite all its flaws I found myself watching it eagerly. I am a sucker for historical costume dramas with feminist themes - if you enjoyed Dream of Splendor, this one might appeal. After all the men in the family are exiled and they are stripped of their noble status, the main wives, concubines, children, and servants of a large official's household have to figure out a way to survive on their own. Without the guidance (and yoke) of men. The strength of the drama is that it isn't easy - these women are not all kind & smart & selfless. They're complicated people and a product of their environment. But watching them slowly come together was so satisfying, and how all the women begin to explore an identity beyond the strict roles they held in that manor. It's so direct about how much power men had over their wives in that era and what that means for these women. The main otp will appeal if you like ships of 2 mature adults who have their own goals and respect each other as equals, who are supportive but don't step on each other's independence. The FL's practicality was so pleasing to me. It just dropped it's final episodes via Express.

* The Spirealm available legally now on Viki, if your tastes run to censored gay romance. And if you like mystery/ horror and like fiction that asks, what is reality (and does the definition of 'real' matter). Like in korean bl Love for Love's Sake, the protagonist enters a game world and ends up caring about that world. (unlike LFLS, a distinct lack of kissing with tongue)

* In Blossom - Chinese het web novel vibes just exploding onto the screen. Childhood sweathearts torn apart years ago, now he's a rich noble while she's poor but he still wants to marry her as promised. (She is less sure about this.... then she gets her body swapped by this crazy chick who really REALLY wants to marry the ML. who, ooops gets murdered on their wedding night.) So now FL is in crazy chick's body and the #1 suspect for her gruesome murder is ML, that childhood sweetheart who showed up out of the blue to propose. and happens to be the top candidate in running to marry the crown princess 🤔🤔🤔 . She thinks he (tried to) kill her. He thinks she's dead and hates the lady she's stuck impersonating. Spoiler: they fall in love.

* Amidst a Snowstorm of Love - Slice of life soft cdrama, if you like that kind of thing. Developing relationship for like 30 episodes about 2 professional snooker players. Relaxing vibes, sweet romance. They're both kind, talented, and capable. They're good for each other and really humanly awkward about starting a relationship. You don't watch this kinda drama for dramatic tension, you just chill with it and wind down after a hard day. It's baked-in that they'll get married at the end.

like yes, i did devour it in about 2 days but also it was insanely predictable. about 5 pages in i called out the reveal at the end lmao. the dragons were fun, but also…. predictable (omg she gets the biggest one even tho she’s so tiny! omg not one but TWO???) (tho i did get very hyped up for them)

it did lots of other things well- the romance wasn’t so cookie cutter (minus dain, i feel i’ve read that storyline a dozen times lol) & violet’s fragility/brokenness of her body was done really well that she didn’t just Suddenly Overcome it which i appreciate a lot. it had a lot of casual language that i wasn’t such a fan of (i love prose! beautiful prose!) but like i said, i was decently entertained !

What do you think they'd have to do in s5 to make it clear to ALL viewers that mike not being in love with el (anymore) and instead having fallen for will, ideally a while ago, makes sense? i think the best way to make it clear that this was a planned thing and not just a new romance they whipped out of nowhere in the last season would be to show a lot of flashbacks. this show does a lot of flashbacks to scenes in previous seasons. they do it all the time and i love it when they do so i can easily see them doing this.

i imagine it happening in a scenario where mike cant really hide his feelings anymore. ive had this vision in my head for a while and i was hoping itd happen this season but i think hes gonna have a moment where all his repressed feelings just start to overflow and he cant keep it down anymore and he starts to panic. just the fact that he did tell el he loves her shows just how deeply repressed he really is. i think hes long overdue for a moment where he just lets it out paralleling to will destroying the castle. this would be when they show loads of flashbacks to show the audience what hes thinking about. it would show the audience what hes been dealing with and that these feelings had always been there.

i’ve really thought about this… i imagine flashbacks of these moments in this order in between shots of him in the moment starting to panic, just like will in castle byers (also for some reason i imagine mike having this moment alone in a bathroom with the door locked):

“i guess we’ll go crazy together right?” “yeah-” (dialogue continues over clip of him holding wills hand) “crazy together”, scene of mike not letting el touch him when they were making out, “it’s not my fault you don’t like girls”, el crying reading him the letters “from mike, from mike, from mike from”, mike saying he loved el the moment he saw her but its immediately followed by s1 mike telling lucas and dustin the plan to get rid of her so they can go back in the woods and find will, cute moments of just will: him in the ghostbusters outfit smiling, him in the will the wise gown excited to play dnd, him singing never ending story. and then lastly, “it was the best thing ive ever done”.

god i see this scene in my head SO clearly and i have for a while. since it didnt happen in s4 though, i imagine if it happens in s5 the thing that could trigger this is seeing will in so much danger again. only this time as opposed to s2, he’s well aware of his feelings and cant avoid them. and he’s also terrified of losing will without ever telling him how he feels.

i COULD make this… all of these are just flashbacks except i envision it with shots of mike crying in between….. might do that.

I’m hoping for the confrontation next chapter to include the secret plans to infiltrate Ba Sing Se being revealed. I hope Shen gets between a Sokka and Ara confrontation and says: we’ve been looking for you to make sure you’re okay and even found your stuff. Then suddenly Sokka thinks more about how his dad only found the necklace and starts screaming at Shen about where the battle plans went.

But I love how the story is going and whatever you do will be awesome. And I can’t wait for Sokka and Zuko alone time🥲

You bet I'm gonna try make it about Wu somehow. As for the plot.... hmmm.... I'm not too sure what it would be </3 but you bet he would unlock his own True Potential, cause honestly??? I don't think he has. Look at that man, he is a disaster. And Garmadon didn't unlock his until the Oni Trilogy, soooo........ it's entirely possible Wu hasn't either. It would also be cool to see what he's capable of, as the Master of Creation, in an actual episode of the show instead of a not exactly canon SHORT. Sorry, i'm still a little pissed about that.

Alternatively, it would be about Zane, and the basic premise of the plot would involve JAY AND/OR NYA TELLING HIM ABOUT ECHO ZANE, and GETTING ECHO ZANE FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE, and dealing wtih that, helping him, and I guess maybe Zane learns some things about his dad. Idk man I just miss Echo and I really think it sucks that Jay and Nya just. Left him rusting away.
