A Different Perspective on the Warners' Ages
The actual age of the Warners has long been a topic of debate. Are they more children or are they more 90-year-olds? Some mixture of the two? My actual opinion has always been some mixture. They are physically and mentally children, but with 90+ years of life experience in their children brains.
But then I got thinking about it. Do they have 90+ years of life experience? For the vast majority of that time, they were either locked in a tower or in suspended animation. Is time spent in a possibly dark and empty tower really valuable as a life experience? Are they gaining any practical knowledge, are they learning anything, are they developing? Or are they just static?
Even if the tower has fun stuff in it, they're not really gaining much from riding a rollercoaster over and over again. They're not experiencing the world. They're not building up the experience that any other 90-year-old would have. If you take three human children and lock them up in a room until they're adults, they're not gonna come out of there acting like adults. They will still be children for all intents and purposes in their heads. They didn't develop.
If you only count the time the Warners were out of the tower, as far as them getting practical life experience and "aging" in a mental sense, then the picture changes significantly. They were created in 1929 and locked in the tower in 1934. That means they had 5 years of true life experience when they were locked away. They escaped for brief periods over the next 60 years, for a couple of weeks at a time at most. Maybe we can add a year for all those experiences total?
So, by the time they escaped from the tower in 1993, they were mentally 6. They were out and about until 1998 or 1999 if you go up to the time Wakko's Wish was released. That's 6 more years at most. When they were put in suspended animation, they were mentally 12.
They came back in 2020 and were around for 3 more years. This means that, at the beginning of the reboot, they were mentally 12, and by the end, they were mentally 15.
I think these numbers actually line up pretty well with how the Warners act in the reboot and how they seemed to develop both in the original series and the 2020 series. They were more like crazy children in the first episodes in the early 90's, became a little more grounded and cynical as that series went on, and act more like adults or teens in the reboot than they did before.
I'm not saying this was some intentional deep worldbuilding on the part of the writers. I'm just saying it makes sense.

Dot Warner Headcanon
Dot has a huge interest in animals, and not just the cute ones! She doesn't care what they look like, whether they're big, small, cute, monstrous, or even still an egg, she feels a sense of comfort whenever she plays with or cuddles them.

hey all! admin here to give some background info abt this au.

first of all:
this au takes place in our present (or at least the 2000s), the Warners were child stars in the 90's (the first 5 seasons of Animaniacs & Wakko's wish still exist) but they were forced into it. after the release of Wakko's wish the Warners quit (Yakko was about 20 at this point and he gained custody of his siblings.
now, it's the year 2009 and Yakko is a highschool Drama and Geography Teacher, he is also a single Dad to a little girl named Abby
Wakko and Dot have a clothing Brand they own together, Wakko is also a part-time comedian and Dot is an influencer (idk, she has an instagram and youtube)

Alright, so if you’re a fan of the Animaniacs here on Tumblr, you probably understand that all three of the Warner’s are most likely neurodivergent, and Dr. Scratchansniff trying to “cure” them of their “zanyness” is an example of abelism (as well as the rest of the humans who want to lock them up.)
BUT WHAT IF I TOLD YOU
I think Dr. Scratchansniff himself may be autistic, and here’s why:
First of all, he is a psychiatrist who has been with the Warner’s for sometime and doesn’t seem to realize the Warner’s are neurodivergent (most likely ADHD and autism in all three of them.)
He gets overwhelmed by the Warners when they throw off his plans and his schedule.
Those on the autism spectrum tend to prefer following a set schedule and doing this according to a plan. When this plan is interrupted we get upset. For Scratchy this may be when the Warners are being to hyperactive and hyperimaginative for them to even want to answer his questions. I get that the joke is supposed to be that he’s a psychiatrist driven insane by the Warners but for me the best way to describe feeling overstimulated is “being driven insane by everything around me”
He also tends to get overstimulated, particularly in “I’M MAD!” when the Warners are bickering in the car while he’s trying to drive. Of course most people struggle to drive with tons of background noise. This just sticks out to me, even though it isn’t the first time.
Also, special interests. Scratchy definitely has special interests that he seems to get lost in. Psychiatry is a special interest of his, obviously. Once he starts having appointments with the Warners everyday, we get to see that the Warners are consistently on his mind (just like how they are always on my mind because special interest yes). Part of this may be because he gradually took on a more parental role towards them, but this could also be because he began to develop a special interest in caring for them. Perhaps his own neurodivergence is the reason he was able to eventually sympathize and care for the Warners.
If you read the Animanicas comics, there is an issue, were we see Scratchy reading a comic in his spare time. This is particularly interesting because not only are those on the spectrum more prone to develop and interest in comics, but when he begins to talk about comics to the Warner’s he knows the entire history of comics down to a tee. He begins to infodump onto the Warners and doesn’t realize when they are annoyed or bored because for some reason they find the history of comics boring. Scratch that, HE BECOMES SO ABSORBED IN IT, HE DOESN’T REALIZE WHEN THE WARNERS LEAVE.
Wrestling is probably a special interest of his too, as well as psychology of course.
Also, like I mentioned earlier, he obvious struggles with anxiety, a mental disorder those on the autism spectrum are more likely to develop due to social and communciation issues and the after effects of overstimulation. This can be observed in his body language and how he reacts to Plotz as well, causing him to become a pushover to his boss.
He also age regresses when he is overly stressed out and even has a comfort object (something that I’ve personally observed in others on the autism spectrum and have experienced myself to a certain degree, I’m still not sure if it’s always autism related though)
In the reboot it’s revealed he waited 20 years just to prank the Warners. The prank seems to have become a special interest and they should have done more with Reboot Scratchy.
Going back and watching episodes with Scratchy with this in mind, his behaviors and general attitude towards the Warners makes a TON of sense. He’s annoyed by them but ultimately wants to get along with them.
To me it makes Dad! Scatchansniff even more wholesome. It’ll never happen but one day I’d love to see an episode where he just accepts the Warners for who they are and perhaps, in the process, accepting himself a little more.

Animaniacs headcanon:
I feel like Yakko, especially during the first few decades of their containment, had bouts of resentment towards his siblings. Not so much them specifically, but the fact that he essentially had to parent two kids on his own without his consent. Even though he normally is able to reign over his emotions, every once in a while, he just snaps. It could be due to an argument, too much racket for my over stimulated boy, or just his conscious weighing on him. But whatever the reason is, it always went the same way.
Him demanding why he can't have one second of peace, and him going too far by saying,
"Honestly, I don't understand why I had to be trapped in this Godforsaken tower WITH YOU TWO. Sometimes, I would have been better off being the only one who jumped off the paper!"
Then, right after he says this, Wakko and Dot, who are just wide-eyed the whole time, start wailing loudly. This leads to Yakko immediately feeling deep shame and holding his younger sibs no matter how much they fight back. Though he doesn't outright say it, he apologizes by letting them mallet him at least once.
He's not perfect, but hey, he's only a kid himself after all.

Okay I have a nice headcanon for y’all and it’s about Yakko this time
Yakko really likes Helluva Boss and you can’t tell me otherwise.
Yakkos favorite characters from the show would be Stolas because not only Stolas has the whole space theme but also his relationship with his daughter Octavia reminds him of his relationship with Dot.
He would also like Moxxie because well he’s the one Yakko relates to the most
Yakko would also not allow Wakko and Dot to watch it with him because well it’s an adult cartoon so he just watches it when they are asleep or not around.
Yakko would also sing Dot You will be okay because well it just fits them

If I may butt in on the Warners playing DnD ask - it'd be the most chaotic game possible, and I'll be assuming they're all players in this scenario, with a random dungeon master because I've no idea who the DM would be
I can definately see Yakko playing as a bard (support magical class, charismatic masters of songs and speech), he'd love playing with words and deal damage by roasting the enemy. For race I'm not quite sure, but maybe a tiefling for charisma? (Me, with two tiefling bards giving Yakko a tiefling bard)
For Wakko, I have the reverse issue, with a clear idea for race but not class. I'd love to give him a hexblood character - they have an ability called eerie token, where they can remove minor body parts (hair/teeth/nails) to make tokens they can plant somewhere to hear or see the place even when they're far away. There are visual gags to be had there. For class, I'm thinking a magical one? Maybe a wildmagic sorcerer, whose magic comes from chaos, and when they cast a spell they must roll a d100 to determine what random thing will happen in response to them using magic (it can either be useful like turning invisible, or completely random like turning into a sheep for some time)
For Dot, I have the perfect image/vibe on my head: a sweet-looking being, like an elf or aasimar (angel like beings), who prance around and wear frilly pink armor. And they're a barbarian. Who deal a lot of physical damage, and can go into fits of rage where they can deal even more physical damage. So I'm basically giving her the type of character one of the friends I play with loves to make.
Also, they're all Chaotic aligned. Can't decide on the good/neutral/evil part, that would probably depend on the campaign.
I will happily defer to your wisdom on this one 😁 It sounds like the Warners would bring nothing but chaos to an already chaotic game. Right up their alley, really!

Headcanons Time!
--Civilian toons (like Flaxseed, Pa Bear, Josh Polar, etc) are all rejected pitches.
--Pinky thinks Slappy is Skippy's mum.
--Speaking of Skippy, ever since Slappy retired he's moved back in with his parents, who finally returned after their "trip".
--Pinky and The Brain are 2-3 years old physically, but because of their spliced genes they age at a slower rate than other mice, meaning they'll both live for far longer than the average mouse.
--I know the Warners don't age, but if they did I imagine that, in terms of their careers, Yakko would stay an actor but would mainly appear in musical theatre productions rather than TV. He'd also be a stand up comedian on the side.
--Wakko would quit acting. He never hated it, he just found that he was more passionate for other things and wanted to spend his time doing something else. He becomes a food critic (because duh) and is also a mechanic (all that time making gizmos turned out to be pretty useful), which is now what he usually uses his gag bag and mallet for after quitting acting.
--Dot would stay an actress but she'd mostly star in movies rather than TV. She'd also become a model and social activist who fights for women's (and toons') rights.
--When toons are coloured in with digital ink and paint rather than traditional ink and paint, they become part computer program. Although digital ink and paint is more convenient for the human artists, it puts toons in danger of being hacked or even deleted.
