One More Time (With Feeling)
"Are you sure?" Sherlock eyed the familiar street with wonder.
"Completely sure." The man behind him in the big blue box smiled. He was leaning over Sherlock's shoulder, trying to get a peek ... "This the moment?" he asked, grinning wider.
"This was ... this was it," Sherlock stammered. His feet betrayed him, already eagerly stepping out of the box and onto the cobblestone pavement.
He made it two steps towards Angelo's before the thought struck him. "What if he doesnt-?"
"-Want you?!" The man mocked incredulity, shaking his head, "trust me ... you're irresistible." Then he shut the doors of the Tardis, and Sherlock had to move or risk being seen.
He took a deep breath, then heard the whir of the machine disappearing behind him.
This was it.

Sherlock straightened his suit jacket, running his fingers through his messy curls and ... decided to take the jacket off and make himself appear as much like his younger self as possible.
Next ... he shot a text to himself. Waiting until that Sherlock was out of the way in the loos, he stole into the same seat beside John.
"So ... you have a girlfriend?" John was just asking.
Perfect timing.
. ... God, how much he had missed this John!
. eager, and open, and .... waiting ... ?

"Not really my area." he answered, swallowing his fears.
He feigned interest out the window, keeping his minds-eye firmly fixed on John. Trying to capture and record every minute detail of this precious moment.
"Oh," John took a bite, and then looked up again quickly, "Oh? You ... have a boyfriend, then?"
Sherlock's eyes flitted towards John's despite his best efforts.
"Which is fine, of course!" John hurried to add.
"Of course it's fine," Sherlock answered, suddenly needing water. He took a deep drink and caught his eyes drifting back to meet John's.
"So you have a boyfriend?" John asked.
Hurried pulse. Short breaths.
John had even licked at his lips when he spoke, like he was nervous ... afraid to ask? ... how had he not noticed before ... ?
"Nope," Sherlock replied, deepening his voice to a purr. The effect was not lost on John ...
Dilated eyes.
. Cheeks turning rosy.
. Slight shift in his seat ...
"Not unless ... you are applying for the job?" Sherlock asked unconcerned, unbuttoning the top button of his shirt.
John was watching his neck ... his pulse. Licking his lips again. His breathing hitched. Heavy.
This was hardly a fair game.
.
"Maybe we should go?" he asked, extending his hand.
Suddenly John rose with him.
Then hesitated.
"Did we need to-" John looked out the window, "... your murderer?" he asked, genuinely concerned they would let a criminal roam free if they left? It was adorable.
"Oh ... just passing the time," Sherlock reassured him with a dismissing wave of his hand, "it was a long-shot he would appear." Then ... as much as he wanted to stay and enjoy what followed ...
. Decided ...
He'd better go tell his younger, idiotic self .... the chances he was throwing away if he did not continue.
He would be understanding.
"Let me settle the bill," he lied, excusing himself to see John eagerly already out the door pacing back and forth with a smile on his face.

"You made it home, love?" John was smiling at him in a knowingly ... achingly ... more-than familiar way ... ?
"Did you ... miss me?" Sherlock asked cautiously, entering 221B. He closed the door behind him and stood with his back pressed against it.
Present Day.
Safely returned from his time-travel adventures.
He hoped.
"Did I miss you ...?!" John laughed. He was already taking Sherlock's hands in his, and sweeping him into the room.
Deftly, he danced them both around to the fireplace ... like this was just something they did, and had done ... a million times before?
Sherlock lost himself in the movement. Closing his eyes and enjoying the sensation that was John Watson, held in his arms.
He had only once before been able to steal that pleasure; Beneath the pretense of 'teaching John to dance'.
When at last, dazed, and more than pleasantly bewildered, they stopped swaying ... Sherlock dared to open his eyes.
A happy sigh escaped John's lips. Making him look even more ... irresistible?
"I take it you missed me too?" John teased. Pulling Sherlock down for a soft, delicious kiss. Sherlock melted into his arms. Giving John everything he had pent up inside of him, since leaving his younger self to carry on with the night before them ...
John's eyes opened wide as Sherlock finally released him.
"Where did that come from?" he asked, awed.
His fingers were on Sherlock's lips ... memorizing his face ... and then ... wiping a tear from where it traced down Sherlock's pale cheek.
"You have no idea ... how much I've missed," Sherlock replied at long last. His breath hitching against the words he struggled to free.
John kissed him again. More languid ... more painstaking possessive this time ... and Sherlock felt his knees weaken.
"Take me to bed, John?" he asked.
Genuinely wanting to know ... and to feel ...
. What their first time was like ... for himself ... ?
"Oh God, yes," John whispered.
. Leading the way.

In the same vibe as Percy choking Akhlys, may I suggest :
Nico causing wounds to necrotize. Even from a small scratch on your finger, it spreads so fast your only hope is an amputation asap.
Jason holding the air still in your lungs. You're not dying because you don't have air, but because you can't get it out and are literally choking.
Hazel controlling stones in jewelries. Imagine getting chocked by your necklace, your finger being sectioned by your ring, being handcuffed by your bracelets, your head being crushed between your earrings...
Thalia manipulating the electricity in your body. Causing your nervous system to move in certain ways, or just shutting down your brain activity.
The big 3 are terrifying, and I wish we would've seen them (others than Percy) being more op. Cmon Rick, show us reasons the gods are afraid of them !

underappreciated Nico detail that I like - he seems to be an angry crier! very frequently he's angry when he cries and he cries when he's extremely angry. very AuDHD of him. emotional regulation sucks my guy and he's just going through it.

i badly wanted dark!Jason tbh. I mean, we got a dark Percy choking a goddess, and a dark Nico ghostifying a roman legionnaire, but the closest thing we got to a dark!Jason was when he was possessed by eidolon and electrocuted Percy, or his anger when Thalia was turned into an ice statue which isnt dark enough imo. I just wanted pure RAGE from him, till the point he ends up doing something completely out of character and stuns everyone.
I mean, Jason is the son of the king of all gods, his rage would be absolute terror no doubt. His dad is an angry man, so I hc him to have his dad's unhinged anger if he gets out of control (I honestly feel like this is a necessity for all Zeus kids lol). Also, Jupiter is A LOT more unhinged than Zeus considering he's roman so jason should arguably have more craziness in him . Maybe something like sucking the air out of someone's lungs to make them stop breathing for a few secs. And Leo going "man, you gotta stop shocking us like this. Pun intended"
imagine the potential of that scene. Wasted potential yet again. smh.

i sincerely hope that will's casting looks as much like walker as possible so that the 'not his type' jokes finally die and everybody realizes percy isn't his type not because of hair color or any other physical attribute but simply because nico has outgrown that part of his life and has to let go of it in order to move on. like. please recognize it for the literary symbolism it is. it is important to me that y'all realize this.

y'all i was just re-reading blood of olympus, and i came across the chapter where Nico loses his shit at Bryce Lawrence and "ghostifies" him (in Coach Hedge's words), and I found a little quote that interested me.
"Bryce chuckled, clearly enjoying himself. 'Oh Reyna. You've got his back? It's going to be so fun dragging you before a tribunal, forcing you to confess that you killed your father. I hope they'll execute you in the ancient way- sewn into a sack with a rabid dog, then thrown into a river. I've always wanted to see that. I can't wait until your little secret comes out.'
Until your little secret comes out.
Bryce flicked the point of his pilum across Reyna's face, leaving a line of blood.
And Nico's rage exploded." (Blood of Olympus, page 295)
What's so interesting to me is the wording. 'Until your little secret comes out'.
It's almost like a parallel to Cupid and Nico. Cupid mocking and taunting Nico, forcing him to reveal his darkest secret against his will. Taking pleasure in it. Just like Bryce Lawrence was doing.
I think that's what set Nico off. Not the fact that Reyna was in danger or that Bryce was just generally an asshole- those 6 words that sent him back to the Cupid scene. Of all the things that happened to him, that had to be one of the most traumatizing (speaking from experience, getting outed is NOT fun). Him lashing out and completely demolishing Bryce Lawrence was the trauma response.

So I've been seeing a lot of will solace hate, and I'm here to defend my son.
First of all, he's not a toxic person at all he's a human who can mess up at times and be unintentionally rude, like in that one scene boo where he says
‘Oh, please.’ Will sounded unusually angry. ‘Nobody at Camp Half-Blood ever pushed you away. You have friends – or at least people who would like to be your friend. You pushed yourself away. If you’d get your head out of that brooding cloud of yours for once –
^ that is rude but he didn't have bad intentions because according to him nico wasn't scary and the people that he hung out with - Lou Ellen and Cecil- didn't think that nico was scary either as they were both friendly towards him when they met him at the Roman camping area outside chb so while his delivery wasn't good he meant no harm and he also helped nico realize that not everyone hates him and then there are a few jokes that he made that people consider toxic or offensive but nico was never offended or sad about these jokes he only rolled his eyes and acted exasperated so he knew will meant no harm .
Will is canonically described as a laid-back and calm person, but he is also stubborn when it comes to certain things like medical related things which is understandable since he can feel everything physically wrong with a person by just touching them and is persistent that they don't die and Take care of themselves which is understandable since he saw majority of his siblings die and doesn't want more ppl to die .
Will is actually quite a complex character he's calm and laid back but he's stubborn and strict when he needs to be he's supportive and loving to nico but since he's a kid he struggles with being understanding sometimes hence why he asks persephone for advice on how to be there for nico properly showing that he's mature enough to ask for help . He's also someone represses his emotions because he thinks that as head counselor, he has to be a perfect example, and he told this apollo in the 1st toa book. He's also pretty insecure about his abilities, as shown in boo
Evidence:
You did,’ confirmed Nico. ‘But it was the way you did it. You made it clear that you wanted me around. You said you wanted me to come to the infirmary and help, because … because you could use a “friendly face”.’
‘It was true. And you did help.’
‘You brought me closer instead of rejecting me,’ Nico said, his voice cracking. ‘I’d never been called a friendly face. Ever. You made me rethink everything – my place in camp, my crush on Percy, my future. It took you scolding me like you were the camp director to make me realize that I was … wanted.

Something something Jason feeling like he doesn't quite fit as "Greek" or "Roman" as a metaphor for bisexuality, particularly the semi-canonical bi-coding in his half of experiences during the Cupid scene and how Favonius and Cupid speak to him in parallel to the scenes confirming Nico is gay.
Something something the camps as metaphors for traditionally acceptable forms of relationships and Nico living as a rogue outside of them, rejecting expectation (ergo in himself representing a metaphor of queer identity and living outside of boxes and defined/usually hetero-allonormative/binary ideas of what love/relationships should look like) versus Jason struggling with the expectation to conform to a label and even discussing with Nico both of them remaining at CHB together.
Something something the inverse of Jason shifting away from the camps after he breaks up with Piper, feeling lost and unable to find a place between the camps as he begins to explore his queer identity properly for the first time versus Nico only remaining at CHB because he has entered a relationship.
