why are so many da fans supposedly against Islamophobia but the second Muslim fans and other fans of colour say that Chantry bombing jokes make them uncomfortable or aren't okay they're 'overreacting' and 'it's only a joke' and 'Anders was right stfu' like please I am begging for you to have some fucking decency and braincells.
Anders blew up a religious building, killing hundreds of people (not only from the explosion but the subsequent debris raining down on the city). It's not fucking funny?? What is wrong with you 😭😭
How about you actually listen to Muslim fans for once, shut your damned mouth and stop making shitty chantry bombing jokes

My commissions are open!
I drew my dragon age protagonists!
I love them all so much 🥹 I figure I might as well write a lil about them so more info below the cut!
(this is quite long so be warned!)
Athon Surana is my warden!
He's a crunchy little bookworm who would much rather be researching or reading than fighting (or sleeping. Or eating. Or brushing his hair. Pretty much anything else).
He's an arcane warrior. Not because he wanted to be a frontline fighter or wield a sword, but literally because it requires less effort and thought than casting spells in combat. That's not to say he's a bad mage - quite the opposite in fact - but he doesn't want to spend the mental energy on fighting when he could much rather use his brain for Other Things.
Zevran is the love of his life, though I think them getting together is more incidental than anything else. Athon would likely have never sought companionship from anyone at all if he was left to his own devices, but he enjoys the time he spends with zev very much!
I imagine he's currently buried under a pile of books somewhere in Weisshaupt. The events of DAD will absolutely happen around him and he won't even bother to stick his head out of the library.
Garrett Hawke is.. well, you know
I love the default name and appearance for Garrett. The more I play DA2 the more it sticks as the only option for his appearance in my mind 🥲
I think my headcanons for him stick pretty close to canon - maybe with the exception I imagine him being even more pro-mage (perhaps even slightly racial) compared to the options you're provided in-game?
Anders is his romance and Garrett is very much All In on his ideals. Tbh I DO headcanon that he put together the plan about the chantry explosion and never stepped in because he supported the action.
I imagine he and Anders are off galavanting around Weisshaupt, waiting for Athon to finish developing a cure for the taint (and annoying Carver until the end of his days, certainly).
Lennox Trevelyan is my latest inquisitor!
He's the oldest of my three inquisitors, and incidentally the oldest of his siblings as well. Getting sent to the tower at a young age was frustrating and I think he held a lot of resentment toward his family and the circle for being caged as he was.
He also lost his faith during his years in the circle, which was quite jarring for someone raised in such a devout family.
That Lennox never saw any of his siblings or his parents again really Messed Him Up for a long time, and left him with a little bit of an inferiority complex and a smidge of abandonment issues 🥲
The inquisition (and his role in it) made things both better and worse - the power never went to his head, but he was certainly a bit of a radicalist when it came to freedom for mages and equality amongst all those under his command.
His romance is Dorian, and tbh with his disbanding of the inquisition, I imagine he went chasing after him to Tevinter (darn abandonment issues strike again), acting as a liaison for Leliana as divine.
Ashiriel Lavellan is my middle child with a weird AU backstory
SO Ashiriel is my one character that breaks a lot of the established lore. She was inspired by an au I built for myself and then never posted anywhere around... 2018? Where Dorian fled Tevinter with the help of the chargers a year or so early.
Ashiriel never imagined herself a mage. She made it 25 years without any magic manifesting, then during a traumatic incident when caught by some nasty noblemen in the forest, she lit them on fire (and half of herself too).
Basically, to cut an incredibly long-winded backstory short, she was rescued by bull and Dorian after they stumbled upon her. The chargers stayed with clan Lavellan for a time, helping Ashiriel heal and defending them as they moved away from Wycome etc.
They don't meet again until the tear etc, but all this sort of informed how I built Ashiriel in the game!
Cullen is Ashiriel's husband and I imagine they live happily ever after in the woods of ferelden, mutually healing from their extensive trauma 😌
Veren was my first inquisitor!
Veren is a precious little baby, new to the world just like me lmao. We both knew nothing going in to inquisition, so I was a stupid dumb dumb idiot and romanced Solas on my first playthrough with her.
We're both not over it.
Veren is a rogue (the only non-mage out of all my protags haha), but because she loved and trusted Solas, she kind of worked heeding his advice the whole game.
The one exception would be the well of sorrows - still reeling from the breakup she decided to ignore him that one time and... Well, we'll see what happens there, I suppose.
You bet your ass she's chasing that stupid egg across Thedas and beyond. Veren is hella determined and will stop at nothing to try to redeem Solas. Or maybe she's in denial, hard to say.
Anyway, I think that's it! If you managed to sit through all this rambling, thanks! Let me know what you think!

Once again want to remind people that the reason Anders blew up the Chantry and not the Gallows is:
A) The Circle is directly tied to the Andrastian chantry. It exists because the chantry exists and is monitored by the chantry
B) his people were in the gallows. Yes, the templars were there too, but so we're 99% of the mages living in Kirkwall. If Anders blew up the gallows, then yes he would be getting the templars, but he'd also be performing the Right of Annulment for them, really
C) we still canonically don't know how High Town was affected by the chantry explosion, and how many of the surrounding buildings were affected and thus created casualties. However, Aveline manages to get the guardsmen/Donic to protect the city while she goes off with Hawke so presumably the explosion was somewhat contained (via magic?) as it didn't hit the guard barracks literally one block over in the Viscounts Keep. So, by Anders attacking the chantry at night he manages to keep the casualties to a minimum compared to the hundreds? Thousands? Of people living in the Gallows
D) going off the above point about casualties being minimised via targeting the chantry; there are literal children, mage children, living in the Gallows. Anders probably wanted to avoid killing children where he could help it
E) people in Thedas...don't actually care much if a circle is lost so it's not actually a great target? I mean, the Ferelden Circle wasn't just going to have the Right of Annulment carried out on it, they were going to lock the doors and leave the templars like Cullen to their fate at the hands of the demons inside. So? Pretty crappy target tactically to get attention/spark a rebellion that people will pay attention to even IF you get all the templars. They'll just ship new templars in. The chantry doesn't care if it loses a circle it DOES care if it loses one of its major cathedrals + a grand cleric
Like just. Regardless of how you feel about Anders actions, please understand that there are very legitimate reasons he didn't attack the Gallows but went for the Chantry instead, and that those reasons are actually very logical from his POV

i guess the thing with bg3 vs dragon age discourse is that for me it’s kind of impossible to compare because i’m not 16. if i’d played bg3 when i was 16 i might well think something batshit. like a pretty core memory of mine is that when i first got into dragon age i 100% thought that if you liked cullen or disagreed with anders in any way you were a cop

World of Thedas Character Art Colour Pallets: Part 1 Companions and Others
This is a long post, but thought it would be handy to have basic colour pallets from the World of Thedas Volume 2. These are split into 2 posts because picture limit. I also specifically chose the images with grey backgrounds and not the tarot cards, just for easier grouping.
Some notes for each game and the companions and in general:
Most of these are concept art, except for the Origins characters. So they might no longer represent the finalized - or level of detail variation in colour - compared to their final game models. I do want to do their character model flat colours, but that is a later thing.
Origins:
Aside from Nathaniel and Anders, none of the Awakening companions have character art.
Anders is put in the DA2 section, as that is the first game he would be universally encountered.
Leliana does not have any character art in the two styles with this background. She only is shown in tarot art in the Inquisition section.
Shale is also not featured in this style and doesn't have any character art.
Duncan was included here because I had space, and he was the only remaining character for Origins not included.
Dragon Age 2:
Varric is put here because it is his first game appearance where anyone would meet him.
Varrics eyes are blue in this art, but in game from what I can tell they are brown from what I can tell.
Bethany and Carver seem to be different variations of potential preset variations.
The Arishok, Meredith, and Orisino were included to round out the image count. They were included over Tallis and Duke Prosper because they were main game.
Inquisition:
Cullen and Josephine were added because I had space, and they fit neatly where others didn't.
Sera and The Iron Bull do not have art nor tarot card art in the book.
Sera doesn't really have a section like the rest of the companions, her background is displayed in a report to Leliana with Sera interjecting with her own notes on it. Which, I think, is why she is lacking art in the way compared to the others.
The Iron Bull doesn't have art in this style but is given a full piece many are familiar with; him standing in front of rows of red flags and the sun with his weapon over his shoulder.
Dagna was included here instead of Origins because this is the first game where she is a major player... Also, she would have been the odd one out in the Part 2 post.
Most importantly, if you want to download this for your own use, got a handy google drive folder with all the images for your needs.

I finally finished DA2. I also recently actually finished Origins despite having a few dozen Wardens and Inquisitors over the last decade and knowing the lore pretty well compared to average. I also played this Hawke as if it was me and didn’t RP in the slightest so the betrayals felt like they were rejecting me instead of Hawke.
As such, I have a lot of feelings. Some realizations, some feelings reinforced, some feelings undermined. I’m screaming into the void about Anders and the Chantry and I pray I come out the other side less angry.
I’m not sure how to feel about Anders right now. Hopefully writing this down will allow me to sort out my feelings on this and come to a conclusion that I can feel secure about.
Ultimately I spared him. I don’t know if I should regret it.
1. I did not want to be like him. Killing him in the rage I felt, or that of Sebastian, would have been doing to him the exact same thing he did to everyone else. It wouldn’t have been justice. He would have answered for no fallout nor seen what his hands wrought.
2. I feel like it would have made him a martyr. To die feeling justified in murder or hundreds and destruction of a city is not a fate I would grant to someone who felt no remorse in using me, our friendship, and everyone else.
3. He’s right. Orisino was right Meredith would have still invoked the Rite. The news would spread and it would explode later instead of right now. Nothing would change, it would just be someone else’s problem and the war would still kill innocents. The zealots would still run rampant. People would still support the wholesale murder of mages like they aren’t people.
3. a)  People talk about Kirkwall as an exception. Like Cullen is an exception. Defending mages in front of Cullen makes him say that “mages aren’t people like you and me”. Even if thinking they aren’t people is extreme, thinking they deserve to be locked up, hunted down, never allowed any family, and lobotomized IS the norm.  And even then, Cullen and Kirkwall aren’t so much an outlier as people claim. Jowan’s mother called her 6 year old child an abomination simply for existing as a mage. Alistair was given to his father because his mother was an elven mage - twice damned in their home. A place for them to learn should exist. Magic is dangerous. But so is fire. So is a blade. Misuse of anything can lead to people dying. Mages need to be policed the same way regular people need to be. Maybe more specialized than a general force but with no more authority over them. They are being hated this deeply not because they’ve done something and not because the Divine can see the future and is punishing them for something that will happen - they are hated because maybe possibly they could be bad people. And because of that they have their children stolen, their siblings separated, their friendships hounded. Every corner of Thedas they are harassed, hated, and murdered.
4. The Anders short story. He lied to everyone. He was like this before. In the beginning. We never knew justice - we only knew vengeance. He was a murderer bent on destroying everyone the entire time. Was he ever our friend? We had just met and he already hit on me and when I rejected him he disliked me. I was kind to him and he only saw me as a partner. Did he ever get over it? Did he actually talk to the Grand Cleric about the paper we found saying they denied the Tranquil Solution?
5. The way he treated Merrill. For all of his whining about mages, he treats her like shit quite a bit for not being a “perfect mage” and using blood magic. For all of his hatred of the Templars and the Chantry, he sure does support quite a bit of the other doctrine. The current foundation in its entirety is based upon the subjugation of mages and you can’t cherry pick your way out of that.
6. If he truly did research a way to separate himself from Justice, then how did he not know about the Avaar? Surely someone in Tevinter would have written down literally anything about their mage practices. But I guess that too was just a lie. He didn’t trust me. He used me. We could have found something better. A way to free the mages without terrorism and making them a walking genocide target that gets every non-templar marked too.
Even with all of this I don’t think I could kill him. Sebastian will never forgive me but he went back on everything he learned and claimed to believe in that moment so I don’t particularly care about his opinion. I thought we were friends. I knew it would come, eventually, but I thought I would know. Or I would be able to speak out against it. Not that I’d play right into it like a shit-eating puppet.
The problem is the Chantry. It would have exploded no matter what. But I guess the hurt comes from his betrayal and complete disregard of what friendship I thought we had. I made it so fucking clear that I supported mages. I WAS ONE! But every fucking turn people kept accusing me of supporting the Templars or attacking me.
I don’t give a fuck about blood magic. I don’t give a fuck about the Chantry’s teachings. They have no right to damn someone merely for existing. There are so many steps in between “The Imperium” and “The Circle as it exists”. The fact that the “Rite” exists at all, as if they have the right to decide who lives and dies. They’re all disgusting. They’re all zealots. The whole fucking lot of them are rotted from the inside out. They scream about the Imperium as if swords and poison have killed basically no one. As if non-mages cannot be possessed on their own. As if their Maker told them that they can do all of this. How is that possible if he abandoned the world twice? Andraste saying “mages will not rule non-mages as slavers” doesn’t mean that “mages will be slaves instead”. It means they’re equal in value, in status, in importance. If the maker turned away from the world the first time because mages were prideful then he turned away the second because non-mages are hateful.
There’s too much death. I’m tired of killing. I’m tired of being forced to fight. I’m tired of being a pawn. I’m tired of lines being drawn by figureheads that don’t know what a copper means. I’m tired of being accused and assessed at every turn.
But I know I must pick a side. No matter my intentions or my goals, if I do not choose where to stand I will be assigned a place by one or both.
And I will never stand with the oppressors.
Do I regret sparing him? A little, but he is just a symptom that grew faster than we thought it would.

🌈🌿
Thank you for the ask! <3 (original list here)
🌈 is there a fic that you worked really fucking hard on that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with?
tbh I struggle with most of my fics, but "it's always darkest before the dawn" was almost completely rewritten between its original form and what ended up on AO3. Because I realized in re-reading it that I had followed the game's romance route rather than what fit Aryn Lavellan as a character. So I sketched a scene where she dumps Cullen, and the story transformed. It was surprisingly difficult to re-write the existing scenes where appropriate, but I am so much happier with the result compared with the first version.
🌿 how does creating make you feel?
Alive. Myself. Whole. And like a walking paradox as it also strangely terrifies me that my creations will somehow reveal that I'm not a worthwhile person. 😅
I also far too frequently second-guess myself over the use of ' vs 's when writing possessive case for names that end with "s" ugh. (AP stylebook says ', Chicago Manual of Style and other guidebooks say 's. I've chosen the latter.) Anders, you are the beloved bane of my existence.

🔥 for your dragon age ocs? 👀
jumbo asks from the dragon age!! |
🔥 Give us a list of general likes and dislikes, such as colours, textures, music, weather and other stuff!
Kyran Hawke -
Tumblr media
Likes: living her life freely without being under constant observation; her silly Warden baby brother; her disaster family of weird friends and husband [even if she and Anders argue...often...a lot...]; her daughter with Anders, Mara Leandra; not having to hurl fireballs at idiots every day and/or hold up an entire city on her shoulders because no one thinks. More basically: blue, Soft, tavern tunes (ideally dance-able), rain without thunder, jokes and laughter, hugs and cuddles, afternoon sex, Lowtown > Hightown
Dislikes: extremists on both sides of the mage/templar debate; having to raise her voice into shouting matches more than once per day; headaches from any source [natural headaches are often a huge relief compared to political ones!]. More basically: deserts [see: Legacy DLC], cruelty, burned coffee/tea/food, no one laughing at her deadpan jokes
Danica Ivriniel Lavellan -
Tumblr media
Likes: Being Dalish; a Certain Inquisition Commander [takes awhile, see below]; rejecting being anyone's savior unless it's earned and doesn't come with a pseudo-religious title from a culture she's resoundingly rejected; designing weapons and armor for her friends More basically: green and silver; Leather; elvhen poetry; clear skies and bright sun; curled up in a library or special isolated spot only a few people know where to find her, morning sex before Cullen's tamed his curls
Dislikes: The Chantry as a political force [Dani was born in Tantervale's alienage; her birth father was killed in one of the Chantry-sanctioned purges when she was three, and her mother married her human stepfather when Dani was five. She ran away from Tantervale at age sixteen to find Clan Lavellan, leaving behind a half-brother. Danica is her birth name; Ivriniel is her adopted clan name. For most of her life Dani hated humans, and it wasn't until her involvement with the Inquisition and developing her romance with Cullen that she could put at least some of her distrust to rest.]; the Venatori; anyone that calls an elf 'knife-ear' or voices disrespect of the Dalish; slavers; fools and being treated like a fool More basically: just treat her like a person, okay, being an elf does not immediately make her [insert various in-universe assumptions about elves]; Dani is more likely to cut someone for a small offense so Just Don't.

happy friday!! For DADWC, perhaps some Cullavellan with “we should compare hands, you know. science.” “what?” “what? it’s not like we haven’t done anything worse.”?
I bring you some Evelyn and Cullen in the Y2K AU for @dadrunkwriting
Evelyn is my Lavellan's sister and belongs to @erehttuoliveeht
Cullen coughed awkwardly into his fist and took another long sip of his coffee, for lack of anything else to do.
Evelyn sat across from him, deeply tanned arms crossed over her chest, foot bobbing under the table. People had described her more than once as "prickly" or "hard to crack" or "a bitch." Most of the time they were correct.
But sometimes, she just didn't know what to say. Sitting at her favorite outdoor cafe with the police chief on a date of all fucking things had not been high on her list of possible ways to spend her Saturday. The last time she'd been on a real date had been with her little sister's gynocologist, and that had been more as a joke to make Ellana rage and Anders uncomfortable. What did one do on a date that wasn't meant to double as a perverse prank? Especially when one might possibly have several misdemeanors and a potential felony under their belt while on a date with the literal commander of Skyhold's entire police force.
You set a bitch on fire one time.
Golden hazel eyes focused on the large, strong hands wrapped daintily around the hot mug of coffee.
"We should compare hand sizes," she found herself blurting. What was this, middle school?! "For science." Stop talking!
"What?" Cullen repeated, an awkward laugh shaking his broad shoulders.
"Hand. Give." The elven woman held her own out and flexed her fingers expectantly. He gave her a skeptical look, then reached across the table and pressed his palm against hers. He could have closed his whole hand over hers, fingers nearly two joints longer. Evelyn considered herself to be fairly average in size for a Dalish woman, but Cullen still managed to dwarf her. She felt heat rising into her cheeks as he twined their fingers together and tilted his wrist to better examine their hands.
"Well?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at her.
She sputtered. "Well, what?"
"What does science think?" A playful expression flickered in his eyes, the scar on his lip tugging a silly grin into something decidedly rakish.
"Science thinks you're a dork," Evelyn replied smoothly. The commander laughed, and ran a callused thumb over her knuckles, then dared to press a chaste kiss there.
Evelyn sputtered again, cheeks well and truly red now.

When I see art of Isabella Dragon Age, she should be more than a little darker than I am. She should be more than a little darker than Anders or Cullen. She’s pretty dark-skinned actually. It’s not “a stylistic choice” to lighten her, it’s fucking racist and colorist. Even in high brightness you can TELL she’s dark-skinned compared to white or even lighter-skinned non-white characters.

hey! welcome to my long post where i complain about dragon age inquisition again 👍 literally don't even worry about it
the lack of even a bit of customisation regarding the inquisitor's origins truly is a downfall of inquisition's & generally the inquisitor kinda feels flat as a character. there are voice options but only two of them & i often find that dialogue options just don't fit what i want really, nor do they help toward making the inquisitor a character of their own. the war table operations related to the inquisitor's background could've easily been made actual quests with the sheer amount of pretty pointless quests that make the game longer & longer with very little reward for it (thinking of the sheer amount of quests just in the hinterlands. in my first playthrough i was stuck there for months because i just Did not want to get through that. it was my first dragon age game & it was very intimidating), but they're just... war table operations. & you kinda get nothing out of that. it's a real shame
the bits of custom dialogue they give to elven, qunari, dwarven & mage inquisitors are bare minimum when compared to the previous games. i enjoy that there are mage-specific choices for sit in judgement but they do kind of invariably suck (though if you're playing a shithole of a person then sure you can probably afford to make alexius tranquil). one of the few good things about these is that iirc you can get on cullen's case about him supporting you, a mage, but the inquisitor also has no real knowledge of what cullen has done & how bad it actually was so it's... yknow. kinda empty. also the way the class/race-specific dialogue is done in inquisition feels... very uh, "nonbinary character who is characterised by saying 'whoa did you just assume my pronouns???' ", which is probably not their intent (at least not fully & not everytime it happens) but it sure feels like it & god is it grating & frankly insulting at times. i'm used to fantasy microaggressions in dragon age games but in inquisition... grr.
& of course it's all coupled with quests like here lies the abyss which. just make the game not worth finishing. yes i've finished it five times but this isn't about these saves. it was a huge slap in the face to be faced with the alistair or hawke choice as a direct consequence of me doing whatever i could to help alistair keep living the happiest possible life he could have. it felt like a punishment for doing that & i know dragon age direction really likes to just make you regret doing good but this specific quest is the reason all my unfinished playthroughs are unfinished.
the flatness of the inquisitor makes it even more infuriating in that you, the player, have stakes in this but the inquisitor doesn't & cannot because they're just not allowed to have ties to either of them at all? or to have anything other than underwhelming dialogue options really lmao. you can't communicate much of anything during that quest through a character to who hawke & alistair are, yeah some important people probably, but they're still just... not people they really know. (wow haha wouldn't it be nice to have had more quests with them & also to have them as temporary companions... or something... haha..;..) at least having stroud as an easy out if you made alistair king or exiled him or whatever else spared me some anguish in my first playthrough (though i didn't know alistair at the time either so it probably wouldn't have meant anything to me).
also! as someone with ocs who have more specific backgrounds than what has been given to me by the games (like shamir, a formerly tranquil dreamer with a spirit friend - more akin to wynne than anders pre-tranquility but hope merged with him upon reaching for his mind. so basically. someone who could easily get alistair out of the fade. you know, his husband. someone who's also been friends with anders. you know. my hawke's boyfriend.) it does endlessly frustrate me that they're not willing to explore more daring options for what is & isn't possible to do. they literally have so many options to make things less miserable & they just refuse. & it's not even for the sake of narrative satisfaction! very few things in inquisition are narratively satisfying at all! so what's the point? what is the point of it all? if everything ends in misery anyway why did you make me do all this. it isn't cathartic or saddening it's upsetting & downright frustrating. i get nothing out of here lies the abyss
i don't know how to end this post. i'm just very peeved by . all this

I just have to know why you chose to romance anders in DA2. Alistair I can understand, he's very sweet (although I went for Zevran), but Fenris is right there man. I also romanced Cullen in Inquisition though. Should have gone for Iron Bull or Dorian I feel, or Solas just for the extra plot (I don't like Solas, right from the start)
I will come out and say that I don't enjoy any of the da2 romance options lmao
In regards to Anders, I played the Awakening DLC for Dragon Age Origins and loved Anders. He was quippy, liked to poke fun at templars, and seemed to always wanna raise group spirits. When I found out that he was a companion in DA2 I was so excited...and then immediately disappointed lol.
Some parts of his romance are interesting but overall I think they ruined his character and made him super whiny and angsty which is not what drew me to him in the first place.
In regards to Fenris...idk I never really enjoyed his contempt for all mages. Theres never actually a meaningful conversation between him and any other mage companion, despite the fact that what Fenris went through can be compared to what mages are forced to go through, and tranquility is never brought up.
I think Fenris is cute and I might give his romance a try when I replay da2 again but overall the writing for most characters outside of Hawke and Varric is meh. (I tried romancing Isabella and didn't enjoy it either)
I didn't kill Anders at the end since I thought if he wanted change so bad he couldn't die as a martyr, I just wish he had more autonomy over his character and wasn't instantly changed just because of the Justice possession ://
I think Cullen's romance is great, but Iron Bull and Dorian are also fantastic characters and if I ever touch Inquisition again (it's unfortunately my least favorite) I'll check them out.
I hate Solas and I can't wait to make scrambled eggs with his brain.

WELCOME
hello fellow loser! i’m celine and you’ve stumbled upon my multifandom sideblog. this little pinned post is going to be a about me to get to know me and what this blog is about better. i kindly ask you to at least take a quick scan of this post, especially if you are planning on interacting with me and want to avoid issues/a block (i love blocking ppl, so be careful ;))
below the read more you will find everything you need to know. if you need clarification, please do so!
celine
22 years old
she/her (female)
mixed (white-black)
german-american (bilingual too!)
finishing my marketing bachelor
this blog will include me being a horny bitch, saying mature things and interacting with mature things
i'm not planning on anything hardcore, but i can't promise anything lol
because of this, i will not be interacting with anybody that doesn't have a age 18 and over VISIBLE in their bio
i know some of you youngins will lie about your age (i sure did hehe), but respect the fact that talking to you guys about this stuff makes reasonable adults uncomfortable
this blog focuses more on videogames i'm currently playing, but will likely include tv and movie fandoms in the future fandoms include:
dragon age
mass effect
skyrim
fallout
legend of zelda
animal crossing
sims 4 (probably won't be posted here)
stardew valley
roots of pacha
cyberpunk 2077
pokemon
horizon franchise
probably more lol this is specifically for dragon age fans since that is what i'm currently fixated on lol:
i am vehemently a anti-solas, anti-anders, anti-sera person
meh about morrigan, sten and vivienne
cullen is my canon romance in inquisition
my inquisitor canonically supports the templars
my mage!hawke is torn between templars and mages
i personally think circles should be repurposed and restructured
mages are inherently dangerous due to their nature of being easier to possessed and people aren't wrong to fear them
comparing mages, a group of people that is easily possessed by demons, with marginalized groups (especially people of color) makes YOU racist, so don't call other people racist for supporting templars or supporting circles ya hypocrite :)
people's choices in a videogame doesn't inherently make them bigots, racists, etc. in real life...its a vidyagame ya loser if any of this bothers you strongly and makes you want to argue with me or be a little brat, i recommend you block me and find something to do that makes you happy (or i'll block you :0!)
"Proshipping is essentially the belief that problematic and taboo subjects should not be censored in media and that people should be able to enjoy whatever they want in fiction without being harassed over it. Being proship does not mean supporting every problematic trope or ship..."
by this definition of proshipping, i would be considered a proshipper, especially in terms about the harassment. if you enjoy taboo subjects like pedo*philia, in*cest, ra*pe, ra*ce play, etc. have fun BUT your ships are not welcome here if they fall in line with this. i will not harass you, i will not give you a speech. i will judge you in my head, but i will say nothing towards you. i will simply block you and move on with my day.
i will also not go through people's blogs to check that their ships fall in line with this from the get go. i'm 22 and a college student finishing my bachelor's degree, i don't have that kind of time anymore. if i do follow you and notice suspicious posts or you make suspicious remarks, i probably will look through your blog and make judgements.
please respect what i'm doing here. i have no interest in being part of this discourse. i spent the last 5+ years not really interacting with fandoms outside of reading my little fanfics, so the discourse is lost on me.
the obvious racism, misogyny and bigotry is not welcome here under absolutely no circumstance!!!

[id: four images with silhouettes in different colors representing the companions of each game against a height scale. the character’s name and height in centimeters is labelled over each silhouette. names and heights are in the captions. /end id]
Companion Heights
decided to put my headcanons for companion heights all in one place. i used this post as a basis for average heights, and i used this site for the height comparison examples. while the images have the heights in centimeters, i’ll be listing them in inches and feet. i’ll also include some thoughts as to my reasoning, although the answer usually comes down to “vibes”.
obligatory disclaimer that this is just how i personally see the characters, and you’re free to disagree. don’t try to bring up “canon”, i don’t care about canon.  and please don’t try to argue with me as if i’ve caused some great offense to your own vision of a character, just go make your own post.
Origins
Alistair, 6′0″ - the bigger he is, the better he is at hugging
Leliana, 5′9″ - on the taller side of average, i just think it fits her
Morrigan, 5′10″ - mostly i just don’t see her being shorter than Leli, probably got her height from Flemeth
Oghren, 4′9″ - i think an average height fits him
Shale, 7′5″ - is a golem, so
Sten, 6′11″ - a matter-of-fact man with an average matter-of-fact height
Wynne, 5′8″ - for her perfectly pleasant non-threatening grandma facade
Zevran, 5′6″ - short king 👑
Loghain, 5′9″ - i like the idea of him being physically average but having an intimidating aura that makes ppl think he’s bigger than he is
Awakening
Anders, 6′1″ - he is a beanpole and nothing will convince me otherwise
Justice, 5′11″ - generically tall warrior
Nathaniel, 6′0″ - while i see him as a beanpole independently, i cannot pass up the beauty of having Anders be just one inch taller than him
Oghren, 4′9″ - as previously stated
Sigrun, 4′7″ - on the shorter side but that just means ppl don’t see her coming
Velanna, 5′9″ - tall for an elf, i think this fits with her personality and her history of ostracism during adolescence
Two
Anders, 6′4″ - growth spurt courtesy of this headcanon
Aveline, 6′0″ - is built like a brick shithouse and you know it
Bethany, 5′9″ - both glad to be unassuming and also bitter that Carver is so much taller than her
Carver, 6′3″ - an early growth spurt to accentuate his teenage awkwardness, again there is the beauty of Anders being one inch taller
Fenris, 5′9″ - i just like him being tall for an elf
Isabela, 5′5″ - short queen 👑
Merrill, 5′7″ - not average but not quite as tall as Fenris
Sebastian, 5′10″ - attractively tall without it being overwhelming
Varric, 4′10″ - on the taller side of average, i think it fits him
Tallis, 5′6″ - average for an elf, perfect for a spy
Inquisition
Blackwall, 5′6″ - short king 👑
Cassandra, 6′2″ - the only man legally allowed to be taller than Cassandra is the Iron Bull
Cole, 6′0″ - growth spurt that human cole didn’t have the chance to grow into, just love him being absurdly tall compared to his adopted dads
Dorian, 5′9″ - average in height but nothing else ;3
Iron Bull, 7′3″ - i like the idea of him being tall even for a qunari
Sera, 5′3″ - look, we don’t listen to game models, this girl is a tiny tornado of whoop-ass and i stand by that
Solas, 5′7″ - his whole deal is being unassuming, he is average
Varric, 4′10″ - as previously stated
Vivienne, 6′1″ - look me in the eye and tell me Viv isn’t the kind of woman to wear six inch heels when she’s already over six foot
Cullen, 5′10″ - slightly taller than average, just think it fits
Josephine, 5′5″ - the delicate young lady who is much more frightening and much less delicate than you think
Leliana, 5′9″ - as previously stated
Morrigan, 5′10″ - as previously stated
