I just realised that The Librarians is called The Quest here. that's so weird? as if Germans would be more likely to know what quest means? how strange.

Oooh, I've been reading this book and it was already so good and then it got more good and my brain started fizzing so here is a recommendation that you should read His Secret Illuminations by Scarlett Gale (who is on here as @scarlettohairdye and who has print and digital copies for sale on her website) if you are into:
Fantasy romances
Fetch quests where the items being retrieved are really cool and interesting
Really huge warrior women with dyslexia
Dudes with religious trauma
Fantasy Birth Control
Meditations on the nature of freedom and choice
Incipient femdom (which is well on its way to being present femdom, but I haven't finished the book yet)
And my very favorite part, the thing that compelled me to make this post before even finishing the story: translation and interpretation drama
The POV character, Lucían, is a monk from a highly restrictive order who is unexpectedly dragged along on a mission to retrieve several valuable stolen manuscripts by Glory, the She-Wolf, a huge, intimidating(ly hot) warrior for whom he's been harboring a crush that he's not entirely sure how to cope with. It's a really fun, wonderfully-paced fantasy adventure novel with an incredibly compelling romance plot, which I don't say lightly because I read, like, a lot of romances. I don't want to drop any other details, really, because since I haven't finished reading the book yet I'm not solid on what's a spoiler and what isn't, but the magic bits are satisfyingly magical, the adventure is wonderfully suspenseful without being completely nerve-wracking, and the slowly-building romance between Lucían and Glory is both really sweet and increasingly sexy. Please read this book! Highly recommend!

The Big OSR Post
What better way to close out the blog's first month but with a huge repository of fun OSR games? I'm not personally a huge fan, but I understand this is a genre people really enjoy, so as a compromise, I'll do every OSR submitted in a masterpost. I understand this is probably a pretty controversial move, but I simply think the genre's too similar to each other, I might be wrong but that's just the vibe I get! I'm sure there's some very fun and creative OSRs out there, they're just not made for me. I'll keep myself from sharing my thoughts on the genre for now, but rest assure these are cool games recommended by people who actually enjoy the genre!
Well, except this one:
Trespasser is really good. It's a mix of the Combat of 4e, with the dungeon crawling, character creation, and general vibe of OSR, it's a really good time, and its a high recommend from me personally Now on to the list of games actually by people who care about OSR:
This one's a very very popular one, Mausritter is based on stuff like Redwall, and it's chock full of incredibly high quality fanmade content, if you want an OSR where you play as a little rat, check this one out
This one's pretty interesting, I was debating giving it its own post because it just breaks so many OSR conventions but it calls itself an OSR, so in here it goes ig. Fist is a game that takes the narrative first approach of a PBTA game, but combines it with lightning speed disposable character creation, to truly give you the experience of being an expendable mercenary going against unfathomable odds. This game's pretty fun, I'd check it out even if you're not into the OSR genre
this one's pretty popular, Electric Bastionland is a simple OSR that focuses on exploring a huge underground city, its very rules lite so you can usually get up and running with it pretty quick so go check it out if you want a simpler game
https://punkpadour.itch.io/yokai-hunter
Yokai Hunter's Society, its a good rules light game, a recommend if you want to hunt weird folkloric monsters
https://preview.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/399483/Into-the-Odd--Remastered
This one's not on itch so sorry if you're allergic to non-itch.io websites
it's set in an underground society where one explores to find treasure. its a good fun time for all involved
look the tone isn't because i dislike these games, its because i wrote this entire post once and then tumblr glitched and made me lose all of it
https://emielboven.itch.io/tea-01
the setting's really fun, and the rules are lite, it's a good time. The setting is specifically based on Morrowind, Dark Sun, and other weird fiction.
https://graculusdroog.itch.io/vaults-of-vaarn
Vaults of Vaarn is a psychodelic ttrpg set in a postapocalyptic earth, its weird, fun, and also i believe its like entirely hand drawn which really adds to the aesthetic
https://tuesdayknightgames.itch.io/mothership-players-survival-guide
Mothership is a space horror OSR, its a biiiit more complex than the other ones, but its also got a shit ton of fan resources, and its also pretty basic in its character creation to make up for it
https://diogo-old-skull.itch.io/primal-quest-essentials
I got this one in a bundle actually
While the rules weren't for me, I think the setting is really cool, stone age fantasy is just really underrated as a concept, we need more of it!
We Deal in Lead is a weird west ttrpg, so if you're into that aesthetic, go check it out. its focused on exploration and player choice, and it can also be played with only one or two players
Beetle Knight is cool, its set in a tiny world where bugs are an organized society, think hollow knight, it's not out just yet, but its something to keep an eye on
OK I've actually PLAYED this one, so I can have an opinion on it: the WIthout Number series isn't great. BUT, there's a few rules which are ridiculously fun and well designed, so I honestly think this is a YMMV franchise. the biggest issue is how the rolling for HP works, if you can fix that, they're perfectly acceptable OSR games
Songbirds 3e is a surrealist game about being chosen (Or cursed) by death to help spirits passing on, when spirits are left stuck on earth they grow more and more monstrous every day, and its YOUR job to stop them from growing into a problem, no pressure. https://davidblandy.itch.io/lost-eons
Lost Eons is neat, its a game set in a solarpunk post apocalypse where magic's all around and actively mutating everyone around. It's got a cool post human look at the world, fairly simple yet fun rules, weird and interesting spellcasting rules, and more!
Knave is a streamlined classless OSR game, i heard a lot about this one and from what I can read its actually a really fun time, so check it out https://yochaigal.itch.io/cairn
(these last two go together since they're both Knave derivatives just with different settings and some more interesting mechanics) https://killjestergames.itch.io/errant this game was pitched to me as "Maximalist second only to literally just D&D 1e hacks", so thats about as much of a pitch most people really need. It actually looks pretty interesting
https://gormengeist.itch.io/greed
GREED or: Oil for the Blood God! It's an intensely surreal game by @gormengeist, its from what I can tell a sort of deconstruction of the OSR genre of game, so definitely a bit more on the niche side, but its fairly interesting and well designed

-Chapter One: The Revivial-
{Warning: Mentions of Death, Panic Attacks, Depression, derealization}
Sitting in their room (Y/n) didn't really have any thoughts going through their head. The noise canceling headphones drowned out most of the white noise their fan provided and with the door to their room closed there wasn't anything disrupting them. It'd been a few years since they'd been this peaceful, mentally that is. Physically they've been fine outside of the few growing pains and injuries that come with growing up.
It was strange really, that they could be the most emotional and emotionless person with a blink since it was the only way they knew to process situations. Their therapist said it was because of trauma their parents said it was because they were just anti-social. Sighing at the sudden thoughts they grabbed their phone rolling over onto their side from their laying position in bed. Turning it on and opening YouTube they clicked on the music and then the scrolled through the recommended.
Finding an interesting POV playlist they played it then shifted towards their desk. Listening to the music helped drown out their thoughts as they turned on the desktop to start looking for games to play. They really enjoyed RPGs, these games were immersive and distracted them from the troubles their live sent their way. The newest game that drew their interest was a game called Honkai Impact. They'd played the game a few years back when it first came out but as school got tougher and other problems arose, they dropped it.
Getting a bit bored they noticed a survey for gold appeared so deciding they had the time they took it. The survey asked the usual questions; how long have you played, what's your current level, and how are the graphics and character design. The one question that stood out however was a question about the games they had recently played. Reading the option and clicking those that applied they noticed one game that they hadn't heard of before, Genshin Impact.
Now this drew their attention since the name of the game was similar to the one they were currently playing. Finishing the survey they closed the game and opened their browser, choosing to look up the game out of pure curiosity. Upon opening the official website they were immediately captivated by the character designs. Humming as they scrolled though looking at the short synopsis of the game and the few clips that were available, they decided to download it.
Noticing that their graphics card wouldn't be able to handle running the game they shut down their desktop and moved back to their bed. Grabbing their tablet they quickly download Genshin and while waiting for it to load completely browsed through a bunch of fandom content about the lore and characters. Safe to say they were hooked, much like they were with Honkai.
Once the game had loaded they began to start the game. It was kinda strange seeing a character that looked like Kiana when she became the Herrscher of the Void. The intro sequence began and then the choice to pick appeared. Looking between the twins they were torn but ultimately chose Aether. The rest of the cutscene played out.
(Y/n) felt bad that the twins were separated, especially since the Unknown God looked, acted, and had similar powers to the Herrscher. They felt odd that they felt such a visceral emotion of rage upon hearing the sadness of Aether’s voice as he spoke to Paimon. ‘Huh…I normally don’t get that upset about characters…’ They thought to themselves.
Moving onto finishing the intro, meeting Amber and the initally arriving in Mondstadt, (Y/n) couldn’t help but be enamored with the design and feel of the city. Taking the time to breeze through the city before beginning the main story quest really added to the immersion.
A few days had now passed, the final chapter of Mondstadt’s Archon quest had yet to be completed as (Y/n) got distracted by commissions, lore books, and fighting various enemies. Not to mention completing puzzles they’d find along with random encounters. “I need to make a list of what to do…I want to finish the story but at the same time..the lore….”
Sighing they scratched their head looking around their room for a pen and paper to write out a quest list. Finding one of their new notebooks they quickly grabbed it flipping it open and making a title page, ^Genshin Notes^. This was something they did for every gacha based game that helped them keep track of summons, characters, quests, and lore.
It was a bit of a more organized than using the game mechanics to sort through it all. Humming a random tune as they wrote they remembered that one of their headphones was still in their ears as they heard what they assumed to be one of the NPCs speak. “Everyone can hear your voice….”
Now, (Y/n) was no stranger to the odd character breaking the fourth wall. But something about that random line sent an unsettling feeling through them. It wasn’t necessarily a bad feeling but it did still cause them to flinch. Waiting a bit to see if the character would repeat the line they moved around that area of the city to find who was speaking.
Finding an NPC named, Helen,on a balcony as she spoke again,”When you’re up high, everyone can hear your voice…” Placing a subtle hand on their heart they released a breathe they didn’t know they were holding. “Yikes…For a second there I thought some SAGAU bullshit was happening..”
Sure in the past few days leading up to this moment (Y/n) consumed a concerning amount of SAGAU related content. Something about being a supreme entity just struck a cord with them. They noticed something similar happening with their other gacha games. When they’d read a fanfic, if there were any related to being a supreme being they read those stories like it held the answers to everything.
It wasn’t really strange, they’d simply thought it had something to do with their need to escape their hellish life. They felt their mind start to wonder as the thoughts if their current life began to bubble up. Quickly shaking their head and turning their attention back to the game they suddenly heard a small static noise. It wasn’t loud, though it wasn’t quiet either.

Hearing a voice in the static wasn’t something new. They’d heard lots if things growing up. But this time the voices sounded urgent, and pleading. Nonetheless (Y/n) tried to force out the static noise with the games background music. Unfortunately this only seemed to worsen the static, it seemed louder now….clearer.
T̷̙̣͚̯͉̈́͠h̶̟̦̋̿́̈́̾ẹ̵͔̟̈̊͆y̵̭̥̻̏̔ ̴̡̃́̑ṋ̵̣̽ë̶͖̘̦͕͈́̉̈́͛́̍è̸̫̩̪͔̌́͐̿ḑ̶̫̃̈́͝ ̴͔̺͈̣̈́̔̒̊ù̴͉̥̿̉̕͝s̸̢͔̪̲͚̈.̶̪̭͍̱̈́͑.̴̪̱̤̎̚ͅ

Releasing a gasp as they felt a sharp pain in their head they felt their heart-rate increase. The feeling of an anxiety attack started to creep up. Hairs on their arms and neck began to rise as a sudden chill sent goosebumps everywhere. (Y/n) felt their vision go blurry, then black.
They thought they’d have thought they’d lost consciousness if it weren’t for the fact they could feel themself think. ‘Maybe..i fell asleep..and didn’t realize it..’
That was when the numbness came.
The attempt to rationalize the situation was a failure as the emptiness of the black void greeted them. ‘Maybe I had a heartattack….no I didn’t have the symptoms…D-did..I..shut up (Y/n) your fine…nothing has killed you yet…though not for lack of trying..’
Sighing in exasperation they attempted to look around in the darkness only to be met with nothing. ‘To be expected, it’s literally pitch black…though I normally can see in the dark…werid..’ Taking a moment to try and move their limbs, they noticed their surroundings felt fluid. Like swimming but without the feeling of water.
The sensation was comforting in an otherwise uncomfortable and distressing situation. This wasn’t the first time they’d been to this black void space. It’d happened several times before however this time with the ability to move the situation felt oddly nostalgic. It was like they were reliving a memory rather than having a dissociative episode as a result of a panic attack.
(Y/n) was still trying to get a hang of the new movement when they felt a tugging in their chest. It was strangely similar to when someone guided them by the front of their shirt. Choosing to follow it as there was nothing better to do they glided through the inky darkness for what felt like an eternity.
It was at this point they heard a soft jingle noise, like wind chimes in spring. The tugging had now stopped as the noise got louder, and with it a small light began to form. The light continued to grow and soon began to morph and take shape. A few moments passed as (Y/n) watched in amazement as the glowing orb formed into what appeared to be a entity reminiscent of a Seelie.
The form it took wasn’t entirely the same the creature looked more like the pokemon Duosion. But the core of it was light with no actual face or expression. It was very adorable thing to be witness too. “Oh…well hello there….” Unable to resist cooing at the newborn creature (Y/n) smiled fondly.
That nostalgic feeling was back, like they’d done something like this before. “How curious…this feeling..it’s…” Before the sentence could finish the duosion-seelie creature started to jingle like a dinner bell. No it was more attune to an alarm.
“What…is it..? Is something..wrong..?” They asked trying to calm the creature down. It seemed to stop its ringing before moving its body towards (Y/n) in a nuzzle motion. “Ah…it appears you’ve imprinted on me…well that’s something..isn’t it..”
Humming as a feeling of content grew in their chest (Y/n) felt all sense of their worries be extinguished in what seemed to be an instant. ‘Strange…its like my depression was cured…I must be dead…there’s no way…’ They thought to themselves.
Before the thoughts of enraging cynicism could sprout another sudden tugging sensation began pulling them and their new companion through the void once more. “Again…I don’t even know where I’m going…” Deciding its better than unpacking their darker thoughts (Y/n) instead focused their attention on their newest companion.
Trying to decipher the destination in a dark void was a lost cause so picking a name for their new buddy seemed an easier idea to ground themself with. ‘Hmm…duosion is based on the cell and assumedly a fetus?? And seelies are fairy like wisps that can guide to treasure….’ Mulling over a fitting name was always a task.
“Oh I know…Polaris..The guiding star…” As they spoke the tugging stopped. The newly dubbed Polaris jingled in what (Y/n) interpreted as delight. “Good..I normally suck at naming things…” taking a moment to look around they noticed of several white rectangles the glowed like the screens of televisions.
They were large and in abundance. It reminded them of the room full of screens in the game The Stanley Parable. Except without the of cylinder of screens it was more like the layout of a electronic store with multiple shelves of t.v.s, not exceeding 5 screens vertically. “Huh… its like a…screen-room…”
Speaking the world seemed to cause a reaction in the void space. A rumble like noise permeated through the nothingness as if something were constructing itself, but it also sounded as if something was being demolished all the same.
Feeling a migraine form sudden didn’t help. Flashes of events played rapidly and briefly as the inky void faded away as a large room seemed to take its place. The white screens stayed in the same place, more images of what (Y/n) could only assume to be memories played out once more.
They remembered this room, making this room. Watching their creations, they remember making new screens for new worlds and watching them form. They remembered everything, their children, the first war with that parasite that called itself a god, even their…..their death.
To think that the games some of the games they played were actually worlds they made. It was strange, bewildering, and nerve racking all at once. “Polaris…dear” Hearing it’s name the creature jingled in response. “Am I….a god?” Polaris did an adorable twirl as it bounced side to side with a soft but affirming sounding trilling noise.
“Neat…”

Kenshi is the GOTY imo, incredibly engrossing. If you don't know what it is, it's a post-apoc other-world survival game. The gameplay is a combination between Fallout and Rimworld, but the "build a base" part is optional. It's unforgiving and has no quests or goals, like Dwarf Fortress, so the fun comes in what you set out to achieve.
The setting is on an alien planet divided up into regions that are hostile to live in by natural flora and fauna, and also by lack of resources (or only one specific resource in abundance). You have warring major powers and minor factions and their affairs play out with you or not.
There are multiple ways to start, but the recommended start is a solo adventurer at a crossroads town with no governing authority. From there you, do what you want. You start as a weakling so pretty much everything can kill you, however you can scrounge by and scrap with weaklings to get a start. And when you lose a fight, it's not always the end. Many times losing a fight is a way to gain XP in skills that increase your survivability. Losing a limb is just an opportunity to replace it with a better, artificial limb.
From there you can do what you want. You can be a loner and roam from town to town collecting bounties, or stealing things, or trading for money. You can do the same thing but recruit a group to do it with you. You can build a settlement and try to be self-sustaining. You can build a settlement that is an industrial manufacturing base that sells their wares to sustain itself. You can venture into ancient ruins to find old tech from before the apocalypse that you can either use, keep, or sell. Up to you.
It's definitely got a learning curve. It's hard. But if you like Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, or Fallout (especially the 2D Fallouts but it's got New Vegas vibes as well) then you might like it. Another thing that I personally like about it is its grunge and clunkiness, because its interface makes it feel like a game from the 90s.
Their website is https://lofigames.com/, there's a demo there. They link to Steam but it's also available DRM-free from GOG. (as of this post, August 14, 2023, it's on sale for $14 USD)

making a personal list of all the warriors fangames i can think of since it would be good to have them all in one place. including (most of) the download links on each game's respective official pages, provided i can actually find them - some of these games are quite old, not documented very well, or have obscured download methods.
not all of these games are complete, many are actively updating, on hiatus, or have been outright cancelled. nevertheless i thought it would be worth listing all of them. descriptions are subject to change as i (re)play each game.
ClanGen - link to web version, downloadable version (itch.io page)
DESCRIPTION: Currently the most well-known fangame that has come out in recent times; you take control of a clan and watch as it grows and changes with time, with cats dying, having kits, changing roles, etc. The player has a good deal of control over what direction their clan goes in, being able to pair together cats, send them on patrols (where they can face big successes or lethal failures), and make other important decisions for their clan’s future. Because of this, it has become a very popular tool for people to tell their own original clan stories. Recent updates (not available on the web version) have added more survival based elements (injuries, and the ability to heal them with herbs), and there is reportedly more to come in the future with the cruel season update. The game is still actively updating as of writing this post. Recommended if you want a clan life simulator that allows for more creative freedom to tell a story.
Warriors: A New Dawn - downloads are no longer available online, you will need to join the discord (and will have to do a bit of digging to find a working link)
DESCRIPTION: A text based game where you take control of a clan of cats and are tasked with guiding them to become a successful, thriving clan. Rather than being an independent overseer, you act as the clan’s own leader, making crucial decisions like sending out various types of patrols, socializing with your clanmates, expanding your territory, and even leading your clan into battle. Battles are turn based, and as you and your clanmates gain experience, you are able to learn a larger variety of stronger and stronger moves. The game seems to be on hiatus, as no new updates have come out in recent months, though the dev sometimes talks about what they have been working on in the discord server. Recommended if you want a clan simulator that has more survival elements and resource-based gameplay. (fun fact… I was one of the first people who got to play this game!) EDIT 07/02/23: The game has been confirmed to be on an indefinite hiatus.
Warrior Cats: The Game series - official website is here, you can download all 3 games following the detailed guide on the site. tip: the activation code is 7991819.
DESCRIPTION: One of, if not THE first Warriors fangames! Each game follows the events of the first three arcs (with the first game being The Prophecies Begin, etc). It offers basically your typical rpg experience, with the battles include both random encounters as well as story-important events (for example, battling against Brokenstar). The games are notoriously difficult in places (you may need a walkthrough to help you along the way, and grinding is kind of a requirement). However, I would say it is a worthwhile experience for any Warriors fan looking for a good fangame. The games are all complete and no longer updating.
Untold Tales - download here (and for good measure, since it's by the same dev and it's basically cattails lite, you can buy cattails on steam, or take a look at its upcoming sequel)
DESCRIPTION: Another classic, wherein you play as a clan cat. Does not have a story: you just live life among your clanmates, hunting, battling, completing quests, and so on. Uniquely, you are not bound to one clan but are given a variety of options to choose from: You can live in any of the 4 main clans, become a kittypet (allowing you to join bloodclan), or live as a rogue and start up your very own clan. This game shares a developer with Cattails, and you can tell as many of the mechanics in Untold Tales are present and more fleshed out in Cattails (hence why I have also linked it in this post). No longer updating as the dev has moved on.
The Road to Immortality - link to act 1 here (also my favorite wc fan game, please please play it)
DESCRIPTION: Possibly my favorite Warriors fangame to date. You play as a kittypet-turned-apprentice of ThunderClan decades after the events of the main series, during a time where tensions among the clans are sky-high, and only seem to be getting worse by the day. The main appeal of this game is that the choices you make throughout the game can have huge and devastating consequences for you and your friends down the line (in other words: multiple endings!). The battles are challenging yet still fun. I won’t spoil too much about the story itself here: all I'll say is that i recommend your first playthrough be blind - save the walkthroughs for your second run! The game so far has only Act 1 out right now. It was supposed to have an Act 2, but that was seemingly cancelled (and then uncancelled? it’s a bit unclear, and I'm not apart of the discord so I can’t really tell). Regardless, Act 1 makes for an excellent standalone experience which - I cannot stress this enough - I highly recommend.
Warrior Cats: The Next Generation - have not had the chance to verify the download myself, but you can find the forums here (and the tvtropes page here, if needed)
DESCRIPTION: TBA, RPGmaker
Dark Forest Apocalypse - i'm not gonna lie i have no idea where to actually download this game. google does return some pages that could lead to reliable downloads, but i haven't had the chance to test them yet and i'd rather not link something that may be a virus or lead to something entirely different. i did find a playthrough of this game (linked here) which includes a download link in the comments, but i have not had the chance to test that one either.
DESCRIPTION: TBA, RPGmaker
Rise of the Clans/Moonlight Dynasty - official download here for multiple versions of the game
DESCRIPTION: TBA, RPGmaker
Clans Divided - itch.io page here
DESCRIPTION: TBA, multiplayer roleplay
Message of Stars - unverifiable download link, Youtube video here

hey! this is chance & here’s this week’s prompt. what websites or resources do you use while you write or develop a character/story? what do you think of them and would you recommend them?
Hello!! Been fighting a war of spoons this week, so sorry for the delay with this!
Honestly it would be magical if I had 1 single source I could rely on for writer's research, but Google is generally my starting point. After that here are the places I trust the information of:
Masterclass - there are a surprising number of articles and mini interviews for free written or influenced by the professional writers in the platform. One day I'll pay for the full service if only to hear Mr. Gaiman tell me his perspective on storytelling; but the free articles are really concise and informative for structure
Save the Cat Writes a Novel (its a book but there are references all over the internet to it as well) - definitely don't feel chained to what the method lays out!! But the nuances about what should happen in certain types of beats are a great push when you get stuck!!! But it's a really rigid beat sheet that probably won't 100% adhere to what you need it to be.
Tumblr media
Behind the Name - actually discusses meanings and origins of cultural names!! This is a great way to get started or to help carve put a character who is a little too murky to write yet.
The Phrontistry - difficult to navigate on a time crunch since its not made for writers, but ctrl-f a key word helps. This place has lists and lists of DEAD WORDS!! Use it to name shit! Use it learn victorian and old english slang. Use it because you just like words. (By the way, a Phrontistry is "a place meant for thinking", so a Zen garden is a phrontistry!!)
My Uni Library Website - this is a privilege I know, but if you can get access to academic sources on arts and cultures it really changes the way you can respectfully draw inspiration from other cultures!!
4TheWords - this is the ADHD buster! Its down at the time I wrote this, but it's a website that gamifies writing so its not just a timer like in writing sprints, every word you type goes to "defeating a monster". You so quests like any mmo and I've legitimate written over 50k in under 30 days because brain goes into panic "it doesn't have to be good" mode and I can get stuff done! Its not totally free, but the micropurchases are actually micro snd you can earn time as well as buy it. They have to make ends meet so i can't be mad
Writer.bighugelabs.com - ive used this online typewriter for like 5+ years. Lifetime membership is 99$ and it goes to the one guy who made it keeping it running. It's got an offline mode and document history so just as long as you are careful and you preload the tab, you don't need data on your netbook/chromebook/ipad to write. It's no markdown, just words on page, it makes typewriter noises, and it looks like a dos command prompt. If you pay for it, you can customize colours, and ive used it for everything from timed exams to emails to novel chapters.
Obsidian.md - free program you can get as an app or on desktop that lets you make basically your own wiki. I've posted about it for my studies, but you can just make your own wiki about your novel, or choose to write directly into it. It supports markdown and latex-like formulae so I've literally written reports in it.
Also like,,,, don't be afraid to use the blogs of other writers! They have experience you could use. But I try to avoid posts that are "7 tips to write x y z" or "never do p q r when writing" because they just get in my head and are generally highly opinionated and are not objectively correct.
I do use, reblog, and strongly support resource and psa type posts though!! Some beautiful human has been making "ways to write [emotion]" posts on tumblr and that person I would like to kiss. They are useful information-based and example-based posts that are just like "and here are some oprions" instead of giving people who are already prone to second guessing themselves (writers) more things to fear cause them "should i even try, what if im cringe and everyone roasts my work" anxiety. ((If people are gonna roast your work, they will nitpick it apart regardless of whether you reinvented My Immortal or wrote the spiritual successor to This Is How You Lose The Time War, so like,,, please just write @me and everyone else who needs to hear that.))
I also advise at least skimming posts about demographics you are not in, especially the ones about how they want to be represented and how it's appropriate to include that in your narrative structure. If you are not in that demographic, you - by definition - cannot fully understand what it's like to be the people who are. Therefore you should to do some quality research and maybe be willing to ask questions of people to make sure you don't fall into stereotypes/virtue signaling/etc.
Finally, *inhales*: WIKIPEDIA!
Yes anyone can edit it, but you know who does??? Coffee riddled neurodivergent individuals with a passion for that one obscure thing you were shocked to find on Wikipedia.
Use the information as a primer, and then to to the sources and try to track down more specific and more "reliable" information. But Wikipedia is usually enough if you are like designing creatures and stuff like that. I don't need amphibious biology research to design an axolotl-like alien sentient lifeform.
That being said, I'm not going to stay limited to wikipedia when i go to learn about xolotl and the culture that named axolotls in order to make sure i don't just steal one animal and a naming convention but also pay some respect and homage to the spirit of the animal and related irl folklore. But finding relatable and first hand cultural sources is very case by case.

hey! this is chance & here’s this week’s prompt. what websites or resources do you use while you write or develop a character/story? what do you think of them and would you recommend them?
hiya chance! thanks for the ask! also i went way too detailedwith this one again, sorry adsajfhdks.
i included links to every resource i listed that is either free or freemium, aside from one's that are on most people's computers by default.
i've tried out a lot of different stuff over the years — i don't have wi-fi so i have strong preference for offline programs and tools! so the majority of these are kept on your computer.
my main tool right now is obsidian — prior to that i used quoll writer, joplin, and plain old notepad (yeah...) though, and i haven't finished transferring and reformatting everything yet ^^. i only reopen quoll now though to look at my old notes. i highly recommend obsidian, it's so much fun once you figure it out and highly responsive. quoll is useful too but i had some issues with it, including the occasional lost content, random crash, and just general slowness.
i use obsidian for keeping all of my brainstorming together, backing up my discord rambles, outlining plots, and organizing my worldbuilding and character profiles. i also sometimes write short stories or little one-off scenes in it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a sample of my obsidian setup for serpent's quest + a different obsidian setup i have for another project that is. a bit too cheesy and embarrassing to share.
i do dabble in conlanging for serpent's quest! originally i kept all my words in a notepad file, but i ended up downloading polyglot to help keep things organized and make it easy to generate new vocabulary offline! i keep formatted notes on my conlangs in libre office (which is also what i use to write my longer stuff). i also use polyglot to generate names and organize their meanings/origins when i'm stuck!
Tumblr media
my polyglot system for names specificially!
on occasion i use twine, but usually for specific things like family trees, timelines, or connecting my universe together. however i recently figured out how to do this with obsidian too so i'm probably gonna move that part over to obsidian as well (obsidian is great yall)
Tumblr media
a section of one of my family trees done in twine
some adjacent resources i use include:
clip studio + concepts + physical sketchbook for art & visual brainstorming. i also designed the conlang script in clip studio. i find concepts is really useful for getting rough visual ideas out quickly, although it runs a bit slow on my computer. it's a lot less polished than clip studio, but that kind of takes the pressure off and makes it easier to just experiment. it's like using ms paint but with slightly better tools.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
some rough ideas i drafted using concepts!
Tumblr media
sometimes i also use it for "hand-written" digital notes, which is super helpful for brainstorming ideas
-
allusion + pureref for visual references. you could definitely use these to store moodboards too if you wanted to have some inspiration on screen while you write or brainstorm, although i haven't done that myself though. also might be good for reference images of the setting, so you know what the place looks like. pureref lets you keep things on the screen, whereas allusion allows you to create custom tags and folders for your reference images, making it easy to find them and plop them into pureref when you need them.
Tumblr media
this is my allusion set up! i mostly got it because i had way too many references for pureref to keep up with, i still need to go through and tag everything properly, but if you're just gonna use it for keeping moodboards or character sheets organized i think it can be super useful (and offline!)
websites i use when developing things or generating inspiration include tvtropes, wikipedia, findmypast (for old newspapers) and ofc youtube and tumblr.
when i'm developing a story or character, i like to go through tv tropes and see the different archetypes and how different works have subverted or played them straight. i almost always walk away with an idea i want to explore or flip on its head.
wikipedia is great to use as a starting point. i usually try to go through the sources and see if i can find more in depth stuff that way, or use the names it mentions to see if i can get more. i also use it to check if my names make sense if i'm pulling them from a real culture. i tend not to worry as much about the meaning being accurate, i'm more concerned with whether it makes sense for a 40 year old to be named dillian. so i usually double check the wikipedia page for a name and look at the notable people with that name, what country they're from, and what years they were born in.
i found findmypast while i was doing research for adigore, but i can see it being immensely useful (and very entertaining) for general research. it has an immense amount of newspapers you can read and search by keywords. you can't access all of them, but you can access enough that it doesn't really matter.
with youtube i love it for more casual idea acquisition! i'll sometimes listen to videos about worldbuilding or writing in the background during work. i definitely prefer it as a well of ideas or worldbuilding zone rather than a "writing advice" corner, all of these things are hugely influenced by one's own opinions, but i think you can still walk away with some cool stuff regardless (or a better idea of what doesn't work for you!)
here's a few specific channels i've been enjoying lately.
the grungeon master - explores and questions fantasy tropes and ideas, usually done in the context of d&d, but i've found the discussions to be highly transferrable to general fantasy as well
kaz rowe - modern and medieval history, culture and historical misconceptions, a gold mine if you're doing any type of writing at all regarding the victorian period as well, and also just entertaining in general. often explores media (especially queer) in a historical and cultural context too!
localscriptman - from the perspective of a screenwriter, i've found the writing advice to be very helpful especially if you sometimes need more bluntly delivered ideas. this won't be for everyone but i feel like if it is for you it'll just work.
and for tumblr well, it's all of yall! sharing cool stuff, and stumbling upon cool blogs and the recommendations they give. a treasure trove of resources and knowledge! thank you.
god why did this get so long. why did i spend so much time on this. i could have just done a bulletpoint list. i am so good at answering simple questions. aaaaaa haha </3

authors note:
So, this is more like a personal little mission for me. I wrote a cringy fanfic called Who’s That Person when I was 13. That was ten years ago. I am about to turn 25 this year. I have been rewatching One Piece and decided I really liked the idea of Who Is This Person, but I wrote it poorly because I was 13. So, I am going to revise it. I still get comments on the sequel called Misery asking if I will ever continue it.
SO. With that said, this fanfic will be entirely different. No more ooc suicide attempts or just cringy sex scenes and DEFINATELY no mpreg if there’s a sequel. It will also be set in the modern world because I don’t know if I ever explained what verse Who’s This Person was written in. Probably didn’t think about it too much. Either way, I hope this is a lot better because I cringe whenever I read the original.
THIS STORY IS PRIMARY TOLD IN EITHER SANJI'S POV OR ZORO'S POV. Similarly to the original aha. But I will indicate it clearly in the story.

LOGGING ON; S POV
The idea of online dating had seemed abhorrent to Sanji. A self-proclaimed pristine gentleman who was interested in real romance and not the one behind a screen. Online dating, among his age group, seemed to kind of be the norm. When he had his weekly meetings with Nami and Robin (his gal pals), they (although, more Nami than anything) seemed to talk a lot about their online escapades.
It was time to consider the possibility of modernizing his dating pool. It is time he experimented a little in the modern age. It was about time that he considered trying a dating app.
It might have sounded very boomerish but it was more a case of not knowing what to expect online but maybe that was what was so exciting. Sanji rarely had any time to date as much as he liked. Being a chef at his father's restaurant was draining, and the hours were antisocial. Too many long nights and sleeping in to catch up with much needed sleep. He longed to date as he was a romantic person but there was never enough time in the day to date. So, here he was, finishing up a profile on a swiping dating app that Nami recommended.
It wasn’t long until after the account was live, he got a few swipes. Naturally, he swiped right on pretty much all of them. Afterall, he would give every woman a chance.
One in particular caught his eye, however. It made him stop before he swiped. A beautiful woman with dark brown hair, big blue eyes and a very soft feminine face. She looked like a model; someone who didn’t seem real. Her name was Zoey. It was even a question of whether or not to swipe for her. She seemed like she might be a joke. Either way,
Z: Hey. Thanks for the swipe. I hope we can talk soon.
That was how this worked then. Huh. Easy. Quickly and with much eagerness, Sanji typed out a message in return. He was unsure if the same tactics worked online as they would in person. It was hard to gauge a reaction from not being able to see someone’s face but maybe that was the excitement.
S: I’m here now, dear. I’d love to talk ♡.
The annoying thing about this was the waiting game that one had to endure with these types of conversations. Nothing was instant. It wasn’t like when you chatted to someone, and you had to wait for every calculated move. It certainly wasn’t like normal dating.
Z: Cool. What are you up to?
Well, wasn’t it obvious? He was spending his time being lonely talking to someone he had never met online. But, besides the point.
S: I’m talking to you, darling. Actually, I just made this profile two seconds ago. You are the first lucky lady I’ve spoken to.
S: What are you up to?
Z: Lucky me.
Z: I’ve just been to the gym. It was leg day today.
Z: So, I’m just going back to my apartment for a nice warm bath and a beer. Maybe a nap.
Z: I’ll be honest, this is my first time on an app like this. I don’t usually do the whole dating thing normally. But I was told I needed to loosen up and live a little by some friends.
Hmm. That was similar to him actually. Although it wasn’t so much that he was doing this because Robin and Nami encouraged him to. This was probably a good idea. Probably. Well, he was tired of his mundane life at Zeff’s restaurant anyway.
S: I understand, dear. I’ve never made a dating profile in my life.
S: I work at my father’s restaurant. Well, adoptive father. He practically raised me.
S: But he’s a piece of work. I have ambitions of being a chef, but he won’t let me in the kitchen. I wait tables. It’s not what I want to be doing. If I’m not waiting tables, I’m bartending.
S: I’m not sure if you’ve been to the Baratie?
Z: I have heard of it. Not really been in it. It’s too expensive for my taste… I prefer a shitty rundown bar.
S: Hmph. Baratie IS a shitty rundown restaurant in my opinion.
S: What do you do? I’ve told you I’m a waiter. Do you have some embarrassing day job then?
Z: I’m a personal trainer. I work at a gym.
Z: It’s not all that exciting.
Z: I’d pick being a waiter over being a personal trainer any day.
She seemed…down to earth. It reminded him of talking to Nami or Robin. Conversation felt incredibly natural. As he lay there looking around his surroundings, his room in his apartment that had cooking books strewn around the room that he had been looking into but everything else seemed very tame in comparison. Things were getting rather dull and predictable which made him what to spice things up and holding back in conversations such as these were not his style at all. It was time to be more… direct.
S: Hmmm. I don’t know… I’d kill to have a personal trainer like you ;)
Maybe a little too cheesy. He bites his lip and hopes it lands. There’s a minute or so with no message. Because it was a little bit of a gamble, the minute in between this message and the next one seemed significantly longer than any other message and to be honest, he was beginning to think he had down something wrong but that was all until the next message came through.
Z: Hm.
Z: If you want to play that game, I think you make a handsome waiter…
Z: A man like you serving my every need? I think that’s exactly what you’re supposed to do.
And…Sanji was not expecting that kind of response and it made him sit upright in the bed. It was…bold. Suspiciously bold actually. Normally his attempts at wooing women didn’t exactly earn that kind of response. It took him a few minutes to even think of what to say but before he could type something in return, she writes again.
Z: I have to go…run some errands.
Z: It was nice talking to you.
Z: I’m interested in getting to know you if you are interested in me too. I think we could have a very special relationship J
Z: See you later, Sanji.
Sanji almost at once replies back. The conversation is over quicker than it has begun but he doubts it will be the last.
S: Of course. I’ll talk to you later, starshine.
Zoey is now offline.
Sanji let himself fall back against the bed. It was a short conversation, but it left an impact on him. What kind of special relationship was she after? He thought about what she said for a minute but then disregarded it. After all, she was merely a stranger on the internet and perhaps she was only there to fill a need of her own but...
How does one conversation get you so invested?
He hadn’t forgotten about tonight. It may not have seemed interesting at first, but the start of the night from 6pm he had to go to work. Tonight, Zeff (his adoptive father) was working which meant that Sanji was front of house. He didn’t hate being front of house; it wasn’t a particularly hard job, but it meant he was as far away from the kitchen as possible.
See, Sanji had so much respect and admiration for Zeff. Zeff practically raised Sanji when no one else would. Zeff stepped up as a father to Sanji when his own father (who he doesn’t know or remember) abandoned him. Sanji had absolutely nothing to his name and not a roof over his head when Zeff found him.
So, it wasn’t as if Zeff and Sanji hated each other. There was a lot of love there but...not at work. Zeff kept Sanji as far away from the kitchen as possible, especially when he was working. If he wasn’t, he made sure Sanji wasn’t scheduled for kitchen duty. This brought a lot of frustration as Sanji wanted to be a chef and being a chef in Zeff’s restaurant seemed like the ideal choice for him but... There was a lot more to it than that.
To others, they never seemed like they got on. They are constantly bickering. Zeff telling Sanji that the reason he isn’t allowed to cook is because his cooking is shit, Sanji calling Zeff’s restaurant shitty and rundown...that kind of things.
However, he obviously didn’t mean it because nights like to tonight, Zeff would retire early and hand Sanji the keys to the restaurant telling him he’s on lock up duty.
Sanji didn’t mind. It was a moment of quiet for him. Once the staff were dismissed, Sanji would just do some admin out the back. Tonight was no different. However, he kept looking at his phone. Since Zoey, Sanji had managed to start conversations with other women. Some of them charming, some disinterested and some just looking for friendly conversation but none caught his eyes like Zoey did.
Sanji was in the middle of some paperwork in the office when he heard a bang on the door. It scared the shit out of him. He nearly fell off his chair but at once the voice that shouted out made Sanji annoyed more than anything.
“SANJI! I KNOW YOU ARE IN THERE! I’M HERE FOR THE FOOD IN THE KITCHEN”
God damnit Luffy.
Sanji almost ran from the office to the front door where, in the darkness of the night, his friend Luffy was standing with his face against the window. Sanji unlocked the door.
“Hey! Do you want me to lose my job?” Sanji opened the door to see Luffy standing there. Luffy was one of his best friends. He actually met Luffy here; because Luffy ate Zeff out of house and home and got forced to do the dishes for a week as payment. He got to know Luffy and his antics. He admired Luffy’s carefree nature so much. Luffy merely smiled and pushed his way to the door, following him was his other friend, Nami.
“Hey Sanji! Sorry he was so excited to be here,” Her sweet voice said throwing him a wink which at once lessoned his anger.
“He just needs to keep his fucking voice down. I could lose my job if Zeff finds out he’s helping himself to food from the kitchen,”
Sanji had an arrangement with Luffy. Luffy stopped turning up the Baratie and eating without paying the bill, and Sanji would let him into the kitchen on nights he’s closing up and he had free range of the food that’s going to be thrown out. Sanji disagrees with the idea that food should be thrown out like this; at least let someone who doesn’t have much eat it.
Or at least Luffy so Zeff stops popping blood vessels whenever he comes by.
Just as Sanji is about to close the door, a hand grabs onto the end of it and pushes it open. Sanji didn’t see that they had taken their other friend along.
Roronoa Zoro. Sanji and Zoro were not friends.
“Aren’t you going to let me in, shitty cook?”
Sanji was so close to slamming the door right in his stupid moss head face and break that stupid look on his face. Zoro was built like a brick house and had a hair full of moss like hair. He just looked so stupid in Sanji’s eyes. He hated when Zoro tagged along like a stupid mossy looking dog.
“Not with that damn attitude,”
Although Sanji looked smaller in comparison, he had just as much strength as Zoro so he tried to push the door back only for Nami to grab his shoulder gently.
“Come on you two. Can’t you two stop bickering for once in your life?” Immediately, because it was Nami, Sanji opened the door and let Zoro in who basically barged past him. Had Nami not been there to defuse the situation, there would have been a fight as Sanji clenched his jaw watching Zoro just barge into Zeff’s restaurant like this, the disrespect!
“Fine. I’ve got work to do in the back. Will you PLEASE make sure Luffy doesn’t get into the good fridge? And that Mosshead keeps to a one drink minimun. He’s lucky I let him even have one,”
They both look at Zoro, who has made his way over the beautiful looking bar off the corner. He’s in the fridge looking for a beer. God, just the look on his face makes Sanji want to punch his face.
“Fine. Don’t worry. I’ll look after him. Just do what you need to do...please!” Nami said with that sweet voice of hers. If Nami didn’t only like girls...
“Fine. Anything for you~!” Sanji turned to go for the back, giving Zoro one last glare before he did. Then he went back into the office and started doing the administration he was supposed to have done a while back. About 5 minutes into it, his phone buzzes. He assumes it’s going to be Nami sheepishly telling him that Luffy got into the fridge or that Zoro has opened a second beer but...
YOU HAVE A MESSAGE FROM: Zoey.
Quickly, Sanji opens his phone and opened the app only to read her message.
Z: Are you awake? I just got back from the gym.
S: Yes, yes, I’m awake. I’m just cashing up for the night
His reply came rather quickly. He didn’t realise but he had been hoping for all day that she would message him.
Z: Good.
Z: I know we’ve only started talking but I like talking to you, Sanji.
Z: There’s something about you that I really like.
S: I’m very flattered. I enjoyed our conversation this morning too.
Sanji continued to type away at the admin on his computer. He was half paying attention to the conversation. Normally he would have managed to get this done quicker but he would stop every now and then to speak to Zoey. The conversation was really casual until near the end, just when he was away to finish cashing up, a message caught his eye as it came from entirely out of nowhere.
Z: So, Sanji, I want to ask you something, but I don’t want to scare you away. I really like the connection we have already, but I want to ask, what do you think about... kinkier stuff?
LOGGING ON: Z’s POV
“Hey Zoro...”
Zoro was barely paying attention to Luffy’s whining. Something about the good fridge being locked or something. Hell, if he knew. Luffy had currently found himself a bunch of plates of food that didn’t make the cut (but was fine otherwise) desserts, sweets and all that but he is still complaining about not being able to get into the fridge. However, it is not Luffy that is pestering this time.
He had lost track of time since Sanji had went into the back. He had been sitting at the bar, legs on the table on his phone. Not a habit Zoro often indulged in but recently, something rather interesting happened that made it more...so.
“Hey....Zoro!”
It seemed that Zoro was too invested in whatever was going on and that was annoying Nami. Since this morning, when she first seen Zoro, he’d been acting a little...bizarre. He was not one to be distracted by his phone unless it was for a reason. Sometimes, Zoro even forgot he had one but as of today, Zoro has been watching his phone like an absolute hawk.
So, Nami decided the next logical thing to do and while he wasn’t looking, Nami snatched it out of his hand.
“Wha-”
Zoro suddenly realised what had happened jumped to his feet and nearly tackled her, but Nami prepared herself for this and stood to the side.
“Oooh, you finally have a girlfriend? Is that why you keep looking at your phone?” So far, Nami didn’t look at the screen. She didn’t really feel the need to right now as she kept dodging Zoro who was increasingly getting more flustered with her.
“Nami, I swear... Give me it back or I will punch you across this room,” Zoro didn’t often threaten his friends. Not as a joke but Nami decided to push his buttons a little more as she then went to look at the phone.
“Hey, maybe I should introduce myself as one of your best-” Nami interrupted herself as she saw the contents of his screen. It was a dating app. It was a familiar dating app. It was a dating app that Nami frequented but... she never saw Zoro on it. Maybe he had blocked her, so they didn’t match. She seen the last message... that was sent by Zoro.
Z: So, Sanji, I want to ask you something, but I don’t want to scare you away. I really like the connection we have already, but I want to ask, what do you think about... kinkier stuff?
Sanji? No. Zoro and Sanji hated each other. They couldn’t stand each other. Why would they be...wait... Zoro’s name wasn’t Zoro. It was Zoey.
“Z-Zoro...what is...”
Just then, Luffy burst through from the kitchen just as Zoro had grabbed the phone from her hand and shoved it back into his pocket as if nothing happened. Luffy looked at the two of them and frowned.
“Hey. No fights without me! I thought Sanji would be finished by now,”
Nami didn’t know what to say. She felt like her head was spinning. What was going on between her two friends. She looked at Luffy and then Zoro before she took a step. “Should I go check on him?”
Although he never showed it, Zoro stepped forward with every intention of stopping her, “I don’t think dartboard brows will be long. Wasn’t there another case of food you didn’t seen near the door to the back? That’s normally where they keep the good beer as well,”
Luffy scoffed and shook his head, “You know I don’t like beer, but I guess I’ll go have a look. Thanks Zoro,” Luffy turned his heels to go back into the kitchen. That left Zoro and Nami alone again. Nami turned to look him before she started heading towards where she knew Sanji would be. That was until she heard Zoro’s voice.
“Don’t you want to know why before you storm off and make matters worse?”
Nami turned on her heels. She could barely look at Zoro right now. Zoro was, in clear view, catfishing Sanji on a dating website. She assumed it was because Zoro hated Sanji so much that he was going to make him miserable by doing something like this. To embarrass Sanji and humiliate him. Nami didn’t mind a bit of banter between friends. A little bit of bullying was fine, but this right here was taking it too far.
“I don’t care what reasons you have. I understand you hate Sanji, but this is really cruel Zoro. I thought you were above this,”
Zoro’s eyebrows knitted together as he watched her. He seemed calm enough. He sat down again, looking at her and shaking his head.
“You think I’m doing this because I hate him? Hm. Maybe it does seem that way...doesn’t it,” There was something about the way Zoro was acting that seemed very unreadable, but Nami could only assume that was the reason. Why else would you catfish someone other than...? Now it was Nami’s turn to be confused which Zoro seen and in the most casual way, he revealed a secret leaning back with a beer in hand.
“Did you know I’m gay, Nami?”
Nami now fully turned to Zoro. Nami took a breath. Something like this didn’t bother her. Nami was a lesbian and was happily in a relationship with another friend of theirs, Vivi. Their friendship group was pretty diverse. There was Luffy who was asexual and aromantic. Robin and Franky, despite being in a relationship, were both bisexual. Brook was an old gay man. Usopp was bisexual as well.
Sanji was the outlier. The one person who wasn’t like the rest of them...
“No, I didn’t know you were. Is this how you’re coming out to me? By catfishing one of my best friends? Because this is one hell of a coming out,” She breathed out.
“No, just listen Nami,” Zoro was clearly becoming a little impatient Nami could have laughed. She really could have. Zoro and Sanji hated each other. Or at least that’s what she thought.
“So, you’re...what... catfishing him. That’s pretty fucked up,”
“I didn’t intend on it being him. Listen, Luffy and Usopp made the profile on my phone as a joke. When I went to delete it, I got curious and started swiping through people. Sanji’s profile appeared. I only started talking to him today. It’s...nice to talk to him without him being annoying or antagonising me. It’s like we’re friends-”
“You know you could just talk to him too and not be a dick about it. This is a pretty extreme way of going about it. And what about that last message about kink-”
It was at that moment that Sanji appeared through the kitchen doors looking absolutely furious with Luffy who was covered in... chocolate. The two of them stopped looking angry at each other and looked at their friend.
“Zeff is going to be absolutely furious with me! A whole chocolate cake! Gone!” Sanji pushed Luffy who went and stood next to Zoro. Sanji looked at Nami and looked at Zoro.
“Who told him about the case next to the door? The one that’s clearly for cakes?”
“It’s just a cake,” Zoro replied casually, “I’m sure if Zeff lets you near the kitchen you can just make another one, waiter,”
If Sanji wasn’t already at 100, he was now with Zoro’s little comment. Sanji was ready to storm in that kitchen, but he took a moment to compose himself.
“I’m going to have to stay all night to replace that cake so whatever you three wanted me to do with you, I’m going to have to say no,” Sanji showed them to the door, “Now please, leave.”
“Fiiine I had my share. I wonder if Shanks has left me anything...” Luffy said as he headed towards the door. Zoro just looked at Sanji who scowled at him then Nami looked at Sanji. She wanted to say something about Zoro. About...Zoey...
“Sanji...”
“Nami... Dear, I’d love you to stay but I have a cake to make and Zeff will kill me,” Sanji never got mad at her, and he wasn’t mad at her. However, this was the politest way of saying please leave.
“Okay...” Maybe tomorrow, if he was free...she didn’t want to upset him more than he already was. She left and was left with Zoro because Luffy decided to go to Shanks house instead. It was awkward because Zoro probably knew what Nami wanted to do. They walked alongside each other and didn’t talk.
Until Zoro broke the silence. A deep almost regretful sigh left his lips as he stopped on the street. He looked at Nami before talking.
“I’ll delete the profile tonight. It was a stupid thing for me to do...”
Nami nodded in agreement. “Thank you Zoro. I won’t tell him if you do that...”

hello hello long time follower first time asker. all your posts about neopets have made me curious about the site bc i have only ever really existed on the fringe of neopets and used other virtual pet sites in the 2010s (whereas neopets is more 2000s)... so questions: are you on the Actual Neopets Website or like a "rewritten" version (cause i think i heard something about those..? idk) and also what would your tips be for a Neopets Beginner? thank you sorry this question is long and sounds a bit silly. have a good day :-)
hey thanks for asking!! i've been thinking about writing up something like this for a while, but i hesitated because neopets is kind of weird to recommend to new players. i'm currently on NEOPETS.COM™ because all the neoclones i'm interested in are invite-only or aren't always accepting/processing applications... anyway here are my Tips(?) (i don't even know what to call this anymore because i got carried away writing it)
(i'll put any warnings/disclaimers at the end because i don't want to look like i'm trying to talk anyone out of checking out neopets lol. there are just some things to be aware of)
most importantly, try to have fun! =)
you can earn some neopoints by giving the games a try, or earn trophies for your profile by getting one of the high scores for the month. not all of the Flash-based games are working at the moment (they're using an emulator that doesn't have full compatibility yet), but Neopets also has a lot of browser-based game options like Sakhmet Solitaire, Dice-A-Roo, Cheat!, and NeoQuest. since those games involve reloading the page a lot, they're also a good way to trigger random events, which can yield NP, rare items, faerie quests, etc.
check out the spotlights & contests! you can earn nice prizes for some of these, like the Art Gallery and the Poetry Contest. even if you don't care to enter, I think it's interesting to browse the old entries and see what it took to win the Beauty Contest in the early 2000s.
you can read up on the lore and history of the site on Jellyneo's Book of Ages, which hosts information about the site's characters, old plots, collectible cards, and more. the Neopedia and the Gallery of Evil are also worth a look!
if you're interested in pet customization, Dress to Impress is a great resource for planning outfits and trying out wearable items you don't own yet, and I think it's pretty fun to play around with! just be sure to filter out Neocash items from your searches.
every Neopet has its own customizable webpage, so you can find all sorts of neat petpages-- guides, petpage directories, character pages, etc.
making "progress"
Jellyneo and The Daily Neopets are great resources! Jellyneo's Item Database in particular is nice for looking up approximate item prices
if you explore the site a bit, you'll find some activities and freebies you can access daily. do these dailies consistently for a decent profit and a chance of getting rare items. Jellyneo has a useful list of dailies here! Trudy's Surprise in particular will pay out increasing amounts of NP if you spin on consecutive days.
you can win 15 items a day by beating opponents in the Battledome, and even the easier opponents-- the Chia Clown and the S750 Kreludan Defender Robot-- have some decently profitable drops. start training one of your Neopets at the Swashbuckling Academy on Krawk Island using Dubloons, which you can receive from dailies or purchase via the Shop Wizard. some inexpensive beginner equipment: Scroll of Ultranova, Ridiculously Heavy Battle Hammer, Parasol of Unfortunate Demise, Downsize!, and Magical Healing Potion. oh, and don't train the Movement stat-- it's mostly useless!
browser extensions and userscripts can make the site more user-friendly/less janky! I use Ruffle to fix some of the broken Flash elements, and out of this list, I use the following Tampermonkey scripts: Search Helper, Sidebar Dailies, Grumpy/Wise King Autofill, BD Winnings Counter, Random Events Logger, and Shenkuu Lunar Temple Solver
right now, an event called the Faerie Festival is going on! every day until October 19, you can receive a free Faerie Quest, which usually only happens by chance. open a Shop Wizard tab before you receive your quest so you can easily look up the requested item. a lot of users have been receiving the sought-after Fountain Faerie Quest, which gives you access to a single free color change for one of your Neopets. you can pick almost any color, so choose wisely!
warnings/disclaimers
DON'T talk about most external websites or try to exchange contact info on Neopets or you'll get warned, even in neomails! here's a list of their approved fan sites
as a website founded by white British university students in 1999, Neopets' portrayal of other cultures has often ranged from insensitive or orientalist (several "tribal" pet wearables/a character from the Lost Desert in a stereotypical "belly dancer" outfit/the existence of a single East Asian mishmash land) to outright nasty (the "Sacrificers" plot in 2000 revolving around violent "cannibal islanders", plus a lot of issues with Mystery Island's lore/designs in general). the site also has a "no religion" rule and blocks words like "Jewish", but has a Christmas color for pets... I don't necessarily want them to remove old content entirely, but maybe some parts of the site warrant a Neopets version of that Looney Tunes disclaimer lol.
Neopets is heavy on gambling and chance, and random events (which have a chance of occurring every time you load a page) can be positive or negative. put valuable items in the Safety Deposit Box as soon as you get them, because they can be taken from your inventory via random event or unlucky wheel spin!
each individual pet has foods they will refuse to eat, books they will refuse to read, etc. Certain Neopet species may have unique "allergies" or other quirks, e.g. the Grarrl and the Skeith can eat non-food items, which can be useful for discarding junk, but can also result in accidentally feeding them valuable items... NEVER click "feed" when you're trying to use medicine/potions!!
overall, the site is kind of a mess right now! there are frequent errors and slow load times caused by increased traffic, poorly-implemented word filters that restrict words like "grape" and "cucumber," and the site currently exists in a half-converted state between the old and new layout. it's also outdated/poorly coded in a lot of aspects; pet and user names can never be changed, for example, so if you create or adopt a pet with a name deemed inappropriate, they will straight-up just delete that pet. this recently happened to someone on the subreddit who advertised the fact that they'd adopted a pet named Meowyjuana. RIP 🫡

A post about what I’ve been doing, and how I’ve been doing:
I got a job around July of last year. It’s right around the block from where I live, so I have essentially no difficulty showing up for my shifts. On top of that, the people I work with are all completely delightful and constantly show me that they care about me and my well-being, co-workers and managers alike.
To drive home the fact: my birthday passed in February. I requested my birthday off, and I got it, but when I came back to work for my next shift, my executive chef had literally bought a cake for me. After I got off my break and returned to the line, there was the Minions birthday song playing on the speakers. ( 😭 ) But my chef was standing at my station with the cake and candles in it for me.
My assistant general manager had also put a candle in a Hostess cupcake and brought it to me mid-rush as a gift:
Tumblr media
I had a party on my birthday - which only about 4 or 5 of my friends were able to attend, but I’m grateful they did - and one of my coworkers gave me his two favorite books, Into the Magic Shop and The Obstacle is the Way. I finished ITMS recently and it was so outstanding it made me cry on numerous occasions. I have yet to start TOITW. I see why ITMS is one of his favorites, and I look forward to reading TOITW. I overwhelmingly recommend reading Into the Magic Shop (author James R. Doty, MD).
Do you remember Avery? and Mokushi? The story that Avery was originally part of has been slightly overhauled, and the previous owner of Mokushi transferred ownership of her to me. I’ve expanded the rest of the “TARDUS Crew” with 3 new characters - Renatas Monte, Emil Oberto, and Hường Hoa. I’ve started working on a few little pieces of writing for the TARDUS story itself, which can be found on the site, but I also expanded into Fallout 4 AU territory with “To Change and Not to Change” (subtitle What Grief Does to People, for the ridiculous acronym TCANTCWGDTP) which I have gotten heavily invested in. The stories of Mokushi, Emil, and Danse are outlined, and I have yet to write out Avery’s story. Hường also comes into play in Mokushi’s story, and I have plans to write out Mokushi and Hường’s initial meeting.
(Footnote for TARDUS/TCANTC: There’s an ‘incorrect quotes’ page on the TARDUS site. Very fun to read, and offers a quick depiction of the relationships between the characters/how they tend to interact with each other. “K” stands for me, Kepler, because I’m funny.)
All in all, only outlines taken into account, I have written ~7,500 words for TCANTC. I have also drawn a comic titled “Medical Attention” for one of the events in TCANTC, as well as a 3-chapter, ~8k word fic following TCANTC’s version of the Blind Betrayal quest from Fallout 4. It is available to read on my website, and also hosted on Archive of Our Own. (Don’t @ me, it’s still one of the best-constructed and high-traffic writing sites on the internet.) I’ve also commissioned Moth to build a site for me, which looks amazing - it can be found at a sub-link of his Neocities, here.
I’ve stayed close with a few of my friends from Tumblr, like Moth and Apollo. A few others have hovered around though I haven’t stayed in extensive close contact with them, like Hero, Isadora, and Jay. I’ve also made a variety of new friends, such as Capt, Xeno, Clymene, Shiny, and Hacksick. I’ve been spending a lot of time talking to - and doing writing sprints with - some slightly older, more experienced writers, who I will not name to maintain their anonymity. They don’t face publicly on the internet, and I expect they would appreciate me upholding that. I’ve also been making friends with my neighbors and the people in my community - who I also will not name, for my safety and their privacy. If I didn’t name-drop you directly, and you expected to be here - sorry! There’s a whole lot of people that come in and out, or who pop up for a conversation or two every once in a while, and I appreciate you just the same. ❤️
I also broke up with and cut off my ex-girlfriend who I mentioned at times in the past. She still lives near me, which I loathe, but I don’t cross paths with her very often, which I am grateful for. In her stead, I have been talking to and connecting with a variety of other trans people in my area. All around, it’s been good to fill my life with close friends and real people. I feel much more present, less isolated, much happier, and more fulfilled for it.
I have also been stepping up to do more volunteer work for the less fortunate people in my city and the surrounding area. There is a mission that I’ve started to work with weekly to distribute food to the homeless, and I personally take leftover food from work (that would normally get thrown away at the end of the day) to redistribute to the homeless people directly in my neighborhood.
The weather around here has also been steadily improving - less snow and more sunshine - and I look forward to when the days start getting warmer so I can return to rollerblading regularly. With my job being so close to my home (just about a mile), I greatly enjoy rollerblading to work when the weather permits. When the weather is too cold but the streets aren’t snowed over, I usually like to take an electric scooter. If there is snow outside, I tend to get a Lyft to work.
I also decided to make the bad wonderful decision to install Final Fantasy XIV, and I’ve sunk 80+ hours into it already. I’m completely taken with the story of it - though I haven’t even finished the storyline of A Realm Reborn (the ‘base game’) - and I greatly enjoy the photo mode that it offers. If anyone else plays FFXIV, I’m Syn Kepler on the Siren world on the Aether datacenter. I plan on making at least one more character, on a different datacenter, sometime in the future. It’s been a lot of fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’ve especially fallen in love with Thancred Waters and Cid Garlond. My main character, Syn, is a male Au Ra with the height scale set to maximum, and everyone looks tiny compared to him. I love it. (Thancred is in the first picture, Cid in the second.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All around, life has been good. Things have gotten weird at times, and pretty awful at others, but I find that they impact me much less nowadays. Even when I think about bad things, when I remember negative memories, when things go awry, the negative emotions I feel about them are an under-current compared to the joy of living my day to day life. I wake up in the mornings happy to start a new day, to talk to my friends, to see my co-workers, to work on the things that I love. The positives of my life, after 20+ years, finally outweigh the negatives. It makes me grateful that I survived the dozens of suicide attempts throughout my life, that I’ve finally made it to that ever-preached day that “it gets better.”
It really does get better. You might - if not most likely, will - suffer. Life will be shitty, sometimes. You’ll lose friends so close to you it makes you want to die, but after the fact, you will earn new friends that you find just as much joy with. Different changes in life will make different people happy - what made me happy was freedom, to move out of the South, to live on my own, to be able to cut and color my hair and dress all the ways that I want to. To live in a place that I do not constantly fear for my safety as a transgender, gender-non-conforming, nonbinary person. To work with people who accept me at face value and don’t harass me for being transgender, who don’t say transphobic things to my face and behind my back. To work in the kitchen, and not in the dining, to not deal with customers - who have often also been the perpetrators of harassment in the past.
I’ve updated my blog themes to contain the lyrics to Sunshine by Atmosphere (YouTube, Spotify) because it wonderfully reflects the joy I finally have in life.
In the words of Slug (the MC of Atmosphere), whom I love so dearly:
Every day that gets to pass is a success.
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
A list of albums I’ve found and loved (Spotify links only):
Fight With Tools - FLOBOTS Cardboard Castles - Watsky When Life Gives You Lemons - Atmosphere God Loves Ugly - Atmosphere Knew School - Knowmads Prohibition Swing - Lyre Le Temps Power in Numbers - Jurassic 5 This Is How We Get Better - The Narcissist Cookbook

hey there! quick quest, if you don’t mind answering— what’s it like studying law, would you recommend, and if someone were interested in that, do you know of any websites or books they could look at that that would give them a picture of what to expect if they study it? because i’ve seen some of your posts on law school and law sounds cool:D but idk much about it, and idk how to find out stuff about it, yk?
hi anon!
studying law is honestly fun for me, just because i've always been pretty interested in the legal field since i was pretty young. now that i'm actively studying it, though, i can confidently say that it's mostly a lot of reading. (like, a lot of reading. you'll be reading up to 100+ pages a night, and those 100+ pages are big pages, with small font and single-spaced and also with sentences that can be 5 lines long.) and also learning how to write for an impatient person. (the irony in reading some of the most convoluted opinions in writing history, only to have your legal writing/law practice/whatever professor go " u are writing for some of the most impatient people in the planet, so u better write as concisely as u possibly can".)
there's also something called cold calls in law school, which is basically when a professor will actively call on you on the spot. sometimes, professors will organize panels, so they'll only call on the same handful of people, but other times, professors will make sure that everyone is fair game for every class. at least in my school, i usually speak into a microphone and have to maintain eye contact with my professor as i explain why a court ruled this way or what this super complex legal theory exactly is or how to dismiss a claim in x court or whatever--which, for an introvert like me, can be a little bit intimidating, but i swear it's not as bad as it sounds.
at least in america, studying law and going to law school entails not just doing a lot of reading and struggling through cold calls, but it also means networking. and also trying really hard to get along with your classmates, even if you find some of them incredibly annoying. more often than not, a lot of the classmates that you have in law school are bound to be, like, your actual colleagues at some point in the future (because most law schools are pretty regional-focused). everyone's got incentive to at least be civil with each other, because you never know if the guy you're taking shots with one night mind wind up being your co-counsel or prosecutor or judge ten, twenty years from now.
re: the second part of your question: i didn't ever read any books or refer to websites about what it's actually like to study law. i actually mostly just asked professors of mine back in college (because i was lucky enough to have professors who either went to law school or were practicing attorneys themselves), but i know that a lot of my classmates read law 101: everything you need to know about american law (although i have no idea if you're american) before starting classes.
outside of that though, i know websites like lsatmax have some book recs about what law school might be like , , , but like! if law school is something that you're interested in, don't be afraid to ask actual law school students as well (which you're already doing lol). i think there's a good chunk of law schools (at least, in america) with students who are more than happy to have a virtual coffee and just chat about what it's like to be a law student, advice on what to do if you do want to go to law school/want to apply, etc.
and ofc, i'm more than happy to provide more information if you ever feel more curious!
edit: because i forgot to answer another vital part of your question--i honestly i am not sure if i would recommend studying law or not. it really is one of those things that i think you need to know for sure about yourself first, just because law school (at least, again, in america) is hellishly expensive, and depending on what you want to do with that degree, it might not be worth the expense. also, really ask yourself why you might want to pursue law--law touches so many parts of life, so it might not be as hyperspectific as, say, wanting to pursue medicine or a master’s degree in a certain subject, but again: you gotta think on it. i know a lot of my professors told me that if i even have a 5% doubt in going to law school, then i shouldn’t do it, just because it’s a lot of work. not to scare you off, but i can and will confidently say that the law school application process is hell, and the actual classes are pretty rigorous, and you’ll also usually be working with some of the most god-complex-slash-narcissist people you’ll ever meet. but i think that if you know who you are, then you can overcome all that and hopefully pursue this also incredibly complex field that i think has the potential to do so much good.

Ranking The MMOs I’ve Played
This is similar to the post I did ranking Call Of Duty games and this time I am going to be doing it for the MMOs I’ve played. This will be shorter since I’ve only played five of them, so I’ll talk a bit about what I like and dislike about each one. Three will be my least favorite and one is my favorite.
#5-RuneScape
Tumblr media
A friend recommended I try this because it’s free even though he himself isn’t a fan due the game being too grindy. Myself, however, there were a few reason why I didn’t like this. One is that there are too many tutorials because there are too many systems in the game. Two is that everything is just really slow like walking and combat.
#4-Tower Of Fantasy
Tumblr media
I still don’t believe that this game is an MMO but their official website labels it as an MMORPG so it gets to be on the list. I honestly just got bored of the game. It’s really just an okay game that I honestly never saw another player while I would be playing. It’s still more fun to me than Genshin Impact but I just got bored and stopped playing it.
#3-Lost Ark
Tumblr media
If you’ve seen my recent post about this game, then you know my frustrations with it. It is a very fun game. I like the combat and I like a lot of the animations for the magic attacks. I had a lot of fun playing and wish I could again but I will not until the game is fixed.
#2-Star Wars: The Old Republic
Tumblr media
I like Star Wars and MMOs and this one seemed all to perfect to try this one out. There’s a lot about SWTOR I like the standout has to be the dialogue options and interactions between my character and other NPCs. I love how I can be nice or an out right piece of shit to them and it’s great. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the combat is just a little slow for my liking.
#1-The Elder Scrolls Online
Tumblr media
This is probably obvious especially when I have over a thousand hours in the game. There’s so much I love about ESO. There’s a ton of quests to do. Getting to explore all the various locations in Tamerial is just so awesome. Making a house that one can be proud of. I’m in guilds that are just great and helpful. Personally, the part of ESO I don’t like and will never participate in is PVP but that’s really it.

Review: Soundcore VR P10
Greetings everyone! Here I'll be giving my honest thoughts on what I'd consider quite unique earbuds - the VR P10 from Soundcore. They're catered for gaming and have verified functionality with VR headsets such as Oculus Quest 2. Peak your interest? These can be found priced at £99/$99 via Soundcore's official website + Amazon directly, or in-person stores if you live in USA. Let's get started!
📦Unboxing Experience:
Pretty clean packaging imo with it's appealing design in addition to convinience. They also come with a decent amount of silicone ear tips which will suit many ears big or small (medium worked for me). Simply looked and felt premium all around, which gives me a great first impression. Good job so far!
🔎Appearence [next to Soundcore Life A2]/Comfort:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Though I'm not a fan of this "Airpod stem" trend, these make an exception for me with nice silver details, signature logo finish + 3 customisable lighting modes (breathing, lights on and battery saving/lights off respectively). Those lights can indicate helpful stuff such as solid purple for on/fully charged, blue for pairing or flashing red when very low. Case looks great with a shape akin of stones...can I say it's included dongle is pretty neat too? Okay ty! Moving on, ear tips themselves also felt comfortable enough with only fatigue after some hours which was usually when both buds were low anyway. Speaking of...
🔋Battery/Connectivity:
Tumblr media
You'll be glad knowing that these earbuds have USB-C featured both on case for charging and a connector on the dongle. Also expect about 5/6 hours on buds (in 'battery saving mode') with an average 24 hours of battery life after giving them a full juice up. This is enough to get through 4 or more gaming sessions in my experience! In terms of speed, 10 minutes shall grant approx 1 hour of battery life for those clutch on-the-go moments.
Facts regarding this dongle btw...it's incredibly versatile featuring multi-platform support for PC, PlayStation, mobile and even Switch with lag-free playback. What's more, it allows Bluetooth audio from phone + received audio SIMULTANEOUSLY with Game and Talk (something I haven't come across before in other true wireless earbuds)! They can also be further compatible for Switch in docked mode or older devices with a USB to USB-C adapter (here's my recommendation). I've found the feature pretty useful for communicating on Discord or taking a phone call without much compromise.
🎵Sound Quality/App Features
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From my experience of "default" aka Soundcore's signature (no super hearing or Bassup), it seemed clear with bass which gladly dosen't drown out the mids and highs. Highs may sound weaker but that's kind of justified as these are geared for subtle audio like footsteps or gunfire rather than instruments like violins and pianos. BUT as we get into Souncore's feature rich app, there's so many settings to tweak and fit your personal taste!
You've got a plethora of equaliser options + the ability to create custom ones as standard with their app. Acoustic (my fav as it brings everything up a notch), Electronic, Pop, you name it. Mentioned earlier is bassup which allows bringing in more for a stronger punch which bassheads may enjoy and super hearing that will make subtle noises more audible, perfect for a competitive edge.
Speaking of tastes, let's talk colours with 5 options being light purple, red, pink, blue or Violet. Heads up that lighting will effect battery life to varying degrees. Have multiple dongles? Great news as which ones in use can be selected directly from app! Very useful if you're someone who has a busy life (on the flip side though, Soundcore hasn't made things clear rn regarding where more can be purchased).
Tumblr media
💭Are these worth the purchase? If you're looking for something with striking design, good sound for gaming in a small package and flexibility with software and hardware, absolutely Imo! Although I would personally like to maybe see slightly improved battery if Soundcore ever comes back to this concept in future. That's it for this review, tysm for getting here! Oh, and if you'd like to help me create better content or maybe obtain better equipment by donations, I've recently created a Ko-fi! It's completely optional but if you do, I'll be really grateful. Take care and live a good life!

So in case graduations happen again soon, I looked up PLs on the niji sub which has gone basically rogue and is actively discussing PL. I followed RZ's PL, which I was like. Holy hell, 1 million subs. All the comments joking about RZ being his side hustle or a side quest and RZ was a big animation storytime youtube joke make sense now. Brooooo what are you doing in niji.
EA's PL was surprising. I didn't follow her previously, but I was more active in the vocaloid fandom and the vocaloid song English fan dub circles when I was younger. I watched some of EA/Shannon's videos and in hee comments are other singers I know and follow like JubyPhonic and rachie! From like 5 years ago! Crazy. I want to try to rewatch some old YouTube utaite chorus collab projects and see if I spot Shannon. It's so weird to think they I may have seen her years ago become she became a vtuber/ EA and didn't even realize.
For FO, I actually know and still follow his personal danmei reviewing twitter which he has since privated and his still public old vtuber PL. my friend who is more into danmei and manhua that me actually recommended his older twt and youtube channel to me. Then like 2 months later he privated his stuff and left and then FO debuted lol. My friend who knew him longer immediately recognized his voice in his debuted stream lol.
Edit 2/13 - that public explanation steam on EP's yt....oof. wtf. That only made things worse guys. These are the worst lawyers with the worst advice I swear wtf is even going on anymore....??
I think im following PG's past life acc on twitter and I don't even know why. I'm not subscribed to her old YouTube account where she did utaite type music. I'm just baffled. I just say that her old twitter is locked but I'm somehow following her and I can't even remember why. Lol.
Anyways saw some funny posts on a certain fruit farm website about SB falling his death a second time to get out of this situation. And I'm just like. A second time???
Turns out he is/was a legendary tf2 player Pyro main. It sounds like he had a video game addiction or something that was really ruining his life and/or he got burnout playing tf2. So he decided to fake his death so he could return to school or something. Like. OK, congrats on the therapy and college completion or whatever, but like you couldn't just have a normal hiatus post????? he like vaguely mentioned in his final stream that he had a terminal illness and then just stopped streaming for 5 years, so everyone thought he died. Like, on one hand, I and many other commentators seem to think it's a bit funny and totally ridiculous. I guess that only learning that this is a hoax years after and also not being tf2 fans/his fans helps make this like a weird prank to outsiders. On the other hand, faking a terminal illness and your death is really stupid and insensitive to people who actually have those issues. Plus to his old fans who knew him for many years who respected and trusted him, that's gotta hurt bad. Like. Bro what. SB unprivated his old YouTube videos though, I'm curious to see the highlight reel of supposedly the world's best tf2 player, even tho as a person who doesn't play fps or moba or tf2, I don't really understand how much skill it takes to do his playstyle, so I might not appreciate it as much as it is.
Anyways kusosanji has shit pr and lawyer team, but their talent scouts/audition people knew how to pick them very well. Like one of the top apex players and tf2 players, multiple musicians and comedians, etc. All these extremely talented peoples' past present and future careers being totally ruined by a company that doesn't care about them and their wellbeing at all. Even if they tried to leave via terminations (shout out to SY liking a company critical comment and then outting "returning soon" message on her pl youtube) and return to their past life, people have lost trust in them due to kusosanji (or due to already existing past life drama like above with SB). If they tried to make a new indie vtuber account they would be starting from 0 and even then if people match up their voices or life story details from some off hand comment during a zatsu, it'll be over for them again, back to 0 and having to reincarnate. Just a waste of potential, it's sad for all livers involved. Incredibly cowardly to have the public facing employees who have the mpst to lose take the worst of the harassment while the neglectful and abusive managers and rich ceo and investors can stay safe and anonymous and in a totally different country. I hope no poor indie vtuber decides to audition for any new en waves, which I doubt they'll even do anymore going forward. Being forced into a black company sounds awful. Comments online theorize that at this point, the investors and so management are seeing this workplace culture clash and deciding to deliberately sabotage the remaining EN branch so they have an excuse to merge it to the main branch and gradually dissolve/graduate/fire everyone like for the OG EN (india) KR and ID.
Edit edit: yeah.....even if the whole rrat / great unifying rat king theory from 4chan is true, that still really only means that like 5 people of a clique are bullies, plus mayyybeee AA?? But like really, other than those 6 people, like there's still the 25 other people (who as far as we know) are not bullies or even involved in this, that really were just trying to grow their career and make friends in a new place. They couldn't have known about the massive apocashitstorm pr disaster that was coming up. I feel so bad for the new kids Krisis and TTT too...like.. holy crap they JUST got there....
*insert meme that Vivi is the unluckiest new member*
Just because the management is bad and maybe 6 people are guilty of bullying, all 25 other innocent incredibly talented people are being dragged into this. It's just awful.... :(
I want so support them, they're unlucky innocent bystanders in this I think, but not as they are right now. Still not exactly normal vtuber etiquette, but this whole situation is totally abnormal, but I'll just find their pl youtube or twitch accounts and follow them there, patiently awaiting if/when they return to those accounts. People on reddit are all saying like "I hope my oshi graduates/gets fired" and that might literally be a better ending for them right now. So weird.....
Edit edit edit: oof yeah. Again, as an outsider to SB's pl and the tf2 moba fps genre community, plus 7 years have passed, I have some forgiveness towards him for the fake death thing that i can understand his older OG fans may not have. Still, it sounds like he talked about his past in a zatsu. He legit had a video game addiction and ended up homeless and jobless. I can understand toa degree why he had to make his hiatus/break from tf2 and video games in general so final so that he would not be tempted to play it again. Still, just an extreme decision to fake an illness and death instead of just admitting you want to go to college and not be living in japanese net cafes and the streets.
