LOVE this canon guys i LOVE it, very very good beast mode choices, very heartfelt and very funny, i also love seeing the art progression over the years. lovely webcomic here
Burn a hole in the old grip of the familiar
TFP, complete multichap, AO3, NSFW near the end. it’s focused on Ultra Magnus/reader but the first half of this fic is probably my favorite. the overwhelm and incredulity the reader character grapples with for awhile, i feel like it’s pretty realistic for someone who’s been shoved into a weird new world. DEFINITELY did Breakdown dirty though. has sequels that i haven’t read

IDW, incomplete, AO3. listen it’s only a little bit written but i am OBLIGATED to post isekai/modern girl in Middle Earth/falling into fiction type of stories and i really liked the setup for this one okay! i love isekai and this was the only one i could remember to track down

Batman/vaguely IDW crossover, complete multichap, AO3. there’s a new police car in Gotham, and it’s up to no good. listen i don’t even do DC stuff but Batman meeting Prowl here is done MARVELOUSLY ohhh i love this very much, the plot is GOOD, and i bet folks who actually like DC will love it even more

continuity soup/fan canon, ongoing series, AO3. listen i know many folks aren’t here for the human characters but i LOVE all the humans here they are each characterized so well and i love seeing how its been blended together across canons. this is a very clever, very engaging setup with a very grounded presence for alien robots that hits in ALL the right places for me. AUTOBOTS LEARNING ENGLISH YALL!!! YES!!! very good very good

Soundwave gets picked up by the Lost Light. okay i am a SUCKER for crossovers as previously stated and this one is Good. leans fully into being a crossover and expounding on the differences between universes. Soundwave needs to figure out what to do with himself! also features some delightful slowburn SoundRod and a lovely ensemble cast. Toaster is the best

TFP SG au, incomplete, AO3. i’m not typically a fan of Shattered Glass stuff but this doesn’t feel terribly OOC or completely upended or alien to the original plot, i think this is done very well and i can’t wait for more

I thought it would be sort of oppositesies, based on Akane, but then it kinda sorta wasn't? But I'm basing it a little bit on that, or at least stuff that would be jarring for them specifically
Hajime: agreed on Happy Disease. I think I saw someone illustrate that once? Just like, not getting anything done because everything is so nice, totally complacent, smiling so much it hurts and his eyes water. Youd think it's nice but it's like, bordering on hysteria? He actually looks ... not super content.
Souda: Maybe like, Fearless Disease? Kinda turns into a big jerk, mocks everyone else for being worried, keeps trying to off on his own to find the killer or Monokuma because he ain't scare of no bear! Bring it on! Kind of scary almost??
Fuyuhiko: Ok so his primary function is Anger but anger is like a secondary emotion or whatever.... maybe Trusting Disease? I feel like that falls a bit into Ibuki's territory though. He's also very dedicated though, maybe like, Flippant? Like changes his mind about everything at the drop of a dime. Probably annoying if hes like "I'm gonna stay inside. ..... CHANGED MY MIND I'm outside now". (Or "I'm gonna try to be nice and friendly from now on... CHANGED MY MIND taste my blade")
Sonia: I feel like Sonia is the hardest because she doesnt have like a primary feature besides being Nice.... Bitch Disease?? 😂😂 just SUPER mean to everyone. (So ... Hiyoko Disease lmao) I bet she could cut deep if she wanted to. Maybe she'd even like, pit people against each other?? Since she's kind of team "Everyone stop fighting 😣😣" ??
(here I accidentally got too deep into this scenario and it turned into a canon divergence lol oops)
I feel like if this, Sonia and Souda would be a very explosive combination and probably be need to kept apart from one another. Hajime isn't really any danger to anyone by himself, only if the killer got to him and manipulated him, but everyone can really feel how hard it is to do investigations and trials without him. Fuyuhiko *is* a danger to himself (when isn't he) and just needs supervision and someone patient. Might also be a little dangerous on and off but thankfully he's too loopy to actually plan anything.
I'm also imagining who would be sort of, in charge... Last time it was Hajime Fuyuhiko and Mikan, Mikan is still around so she can still be the Nurse and taking care of everyone, but Nekomaru and Peko (who would generally be taking care of their respective people) are gone. So??
Would Chiaki volunteer to stay behind in the hospital? Idk why she didn't the first time, it seems like sth she'd do. Nagito probably shouldn't be around a disease of any kind, so he's out. That leaves Gundham, Hiyoko, Akane and Ibuki (assuming we're leaving Akane out)... out of all of them, I feel like Akane or Gundham would volunteer. Prrrroooobably Gundham? Bc we're mixing it up and because he might think he's immune to diseases of this world or whatever.
Ok so Gundham, Chiaki and Mikan are at the hospital!
Ok so in this case maybe this is when we switch to Nagito POV? Hajime can't die yet, we need him, he's too plot relevant. If this is the same happening but different people, I think it's only fitting that Mikan gets the same disease and ends up being the killer, only because I feel like Remnant Memories trump every other motivation and need to be established as Super Dangerous.
(EDIT:) WAIT OMG Chiaki was never a remnant but what if.... Remnant!Gundham.... especially if Sonia was introduced sooner a a love interest, and Souda, the heartbreak, that could be scary too aaaaaa I already posted tho
Fuyuhiko dying would be a narratively bad choice considering his two death scares so far, but also kind of hilarious (I've mentioned before, since he was SUPPOSED to die at the hospital, how funny it would be to have him finally croak at that point; but it IS narratively Not Good). So he and Hajime are safe (yay)
what if. Remnant!Mikan manages to manipulate Sonia and Souda to go after each other, either of them kills the other, and the killer is executed. Since Mikan didn't actually kill anyone, she lives. What would happen then?? The remember disease goes away eventually, but would her memories of the whole disease ordeal? What if they just had a full on Remnant in their midst (I dont think that's how it would work, since Akane got better, but what if Mikan at least remembered manipulating the murders?)
I think it could be interesting, anyway. Oops! This went far lol

i was tagged in a very similar post by @bookish-bogwitch a few weeks ago. at the time i read her post, i felt like our opinions were so aligned that there wasn't a good reason for me to write my own post. (well done, great opinions!) the only exception really is that if a snowbaz fic was tagged age gap i might choose to read it - less because the trope is for me, and more because that's kind of weird for snowbaz. so, maybe it would be interesting! and i guess i feel pretty meh about H/C, sorry folks.
anyway - i decided to tweak the meme into the form that you see in this post. here's my 10 random things and what i think about them👇
Amusement Parks: -2
harsh judgement right out of the gate. i've read some good ones but i feel like generally a fic about an amusement park is likely to be some quite gentle fluff, maybe a modern AU, and that's not my favourite.
Unconventional Families: 0
maybe all slash fics that are kidfics are unconventional families? if so - i actually quite like kidfic, a not that secret shame, but i sort of like it less if the fact that they're gay parents is now worth flagging because it makes life difficult - since i am a gay parent. and i dont want to read about how it will be hard. so it averages out to a 0. if the family is more unconventional.... who knows? i would neither click nor not click.
Rough Sex: 8
how sad for me that this is my first clear yes and highest rated. i probably would click unless other tags or the summary put me off.
Public Transportation: 3
i went with a yes here, as i'm intrigued. it's oddly specific and suggests an interest in the specifics, and i am a fan of public transport. i've read some nice fics where snowbaz meet on trains (yes, often modern AU, but i dont dislike them all), like the classic 15-across by @ninemagicks and the equally classic remix 2-Down (A 15-Across remix) by @carryonvisinata (who also wrote a theme park story i like, so the -2 is definitely feeling mean. ah well, press on.)
Bickering: 7
i mean - i prefer banter, but i assume if someone has written bickering they kind of mean banter. unless it's like sibling bickering and then maybe not.
Phone Calls & Telephones: 0
this is almost text fic (which i like less than most people like it) but not. i often write in a phonecall, it's part of what i think of as the friendship to lovers arc...... idk. i'm also going to add here that i keep thinking about plots that rely on people not being able to call each other, which is kind of the opposite. or you have to get to a pay phone - i dont know that i would want to read a fic like that, but there are some fun movies and books that you'd have to rework now. most recently i was watching madonna in 'desperately seeking susan'.
Redeemed (character): 7
this really depends on who they are, obviously. i can imagine it being really annoying if they never show any redeemability, but i've given it a strong 7 because i come from a world of redeeming the master from doctor who over and over again, so it would feel silly not to have it as a yes. and i kind of want to redeem the mage....... but it would be weird if he just was redeemed in a fic, and so too the master. it would have to be kind of about it.
Quests: 7
yes. not a 10/10 insta-click , because i can imagine it going on a bit too long if it was a fic about a quest rather than, say, two people realising they loved each other, but i would like it to be in the background. snowbaz has some good quest fics. Song of Sirens (rated E) by @scone-lover is such a fic or A Gift From the Propheseals (rated M) by @skeedelvee and @letraspal another.
Cats: 3
this feels mean, i have 3 cats myself - i like cats to be in a fic because cats are nice, but i also dont have many feelings about animal transformation and if snowbaz adopt a cat in the future... that's fine by me, i hope they do, but i probably don't want to read about it for more than a few lines.
Sociopathy: 2
probably not if it's a serious examination of this, but plenty of my villainous favs could be described as sociopaths, so... i give it a 2!

very first thought of the new season: i want a doll of clawdeens wereruler armor so bad. also im excited for more worldbuilding lore stuff, and more varied werecreature designs! part of me gets a little irked sometimes that there seems to be disproportionate attention payed to werecreatures and the inner workings of their society over other monster species, but i cannot deny, i love a funny lil furry.

im really interested in this developing plotline about draculaura being pressured to be like the model of Good Witchcraft. it works well with her established character and arc of like trying to live up to her fathers reputation and status in the monster world. poor girl never seems to be able to just fucking relax.
skelita! i love that shes trying out witchcraft, and the art-based magic is a fun angle too! i can totally see where this is going tho. drac is super serious about magic because theres all this pressure on her while skelita is just trying it out in a casual way so theyre at odds. its an interesting dilemma because i can def see both sides.
im really happy the writing seems like empathetic to both positions here. skelita deserves to try magic her way on her own terms, but its also totally understandable draculaura would feel protective over witchcraft when any misuse of it is ultimately going to reflect on her since she was the one working to legitimize it. respectability is a double edged sword fr!

ok so while my ds is getting sand poured into it at alarming rates I'm thinking about how jrpgs in specific have a really weird desync with How Important Death Is. like some address it better than others but it very frequently happens where if you take a step back youll go "am I wild or is everybody just like, Really down with murder in this game". and consequences for said murder, especially in a characterization sense but even just actual physical consequences, don't really happen? unless it's a vehicle for conflict but like. when it is a vehicle for conflict it feels weird because why are These Guys actually taking the fact we killed somebody in broad daylight seriously and coming after us for it while all the other npcs and even the main party took it like it was another saturday evening
see I Think where the issue lies is in the fact that everything is in its own little world when you're in a battle? like. when you fight an enemy and you get leather out of it it's seen as something the enemy Drops and not. their hide. when you defeat a character in a battle it does just feel like you Defeated them. unless there's dialogue afterwards that says otherwise you don't even mentally assume you killed em you just wounded them enough to make them flee or dissolve or whatever. and it's Weird to just. have that assumption there because for a lot of games it really isn't clear if you're killing them or defeating them !!
that last point is extra important when you have the specific brand of Skittish Hero / Noble Hero Who Doesn't Kill People / Rational Hero In Way Over Their Head or whatever where you really don't think they Would kill a guy just to get them out of the way. in that case it's REALLY weird because it's hardly brought up. even if it Is brought up that that guy Sure Did Die the mc doesn't tend to actually have a reaction ??? and I don't know why this is ???? like Any written reaction would be more interesting than nothing even if the guy doesn't have a full on crisis about taking another life having them go "oh shit, The Consequences" would be nice. really anything except (oh cool we can advance the plot now).
I will also mention that Some deaths do matter plot wise but very frequently what makes them matter is how much of it is linked to an in game battle I think. if your mc just finishes a fight and comes back to the overworld and the guy's Disappeared or Dissolved or whatever it means they don't matter. if the guy's still around after the fight it means it's more significant, especially if they're still alive but wounded or Really Shaken Up. because this clears up the indistinguishable line between if a battle is lethal or not and if a character decides to deal a finishing blow now it's Way more telling of their character. even though this is basically the same thing that happened in the (killed In A Battle) scenario. just with more dialogue. I will also mention that the person who deals the finishing blow is Rarely Ever that good hearted protagonist and often they'll even go :0 at somebody else committing a murder despite them instigating and helping murder quite a few people. just. In Battle. so it's less bad. I guess.
this is leaving out the fact that in party deaths are often a Major Major Blow because like. ok that's fair. that's A Guy You Knew that's understandable. anyway I don't really know where I'm going with this I just think it's interesting how in these types of games death can swap from not mattering at all to mattering a Lot and if u don't think about it too hard u don't even question it. I'll probably be putting some examples in the tags idk
#i will note that in this specific instance most of my party Is actually super down with murder like vocally#so its less weird but it Is weird that the mc does. Not Seem The Type.#i mean not to say he should have tried to spare everybody i think its kinda neat that he doesnt but#if the fact that he doesnt was brought up at all thatd be interesting. have him acknowledge he killed a dude#but no hes just kind of standing there like (ok what next) no leaning one way or another#these would all be interesting reactions if they were actually Brought Up in dialogue but no its just. oversight#anyway this is about sand but ive also felt this about live a live and even bits of twewy#like specifically in lal the fact that the edo chapter Exists and killing people is just Battling Them made me look at Every Other Chapter#thru a lens of (okay am. am i killing these dudes.) and the answer is I DUNNO#like the guy exploded into a cloud of mist theres no way hes Not dead but its STRANGE#this felt most noticeable in the imperial china and present day chapters because they had mcs who decidedly did not feel down with murder#specifically present day because masaru is fighting this guy for the crime of killing a guys. and woa. he killed a guys. with his Hands#i think theres only a handful of deaths in lal that actually mean anything and you can tell which they are because they dont explode#like in You Know The Part with The Character I Cant Say that guys i think the only time defeating an enemy Leaves A Corpse#ok actually thats a lie the Other Guy I Cant Say in The Chapter Before That also died like that and that was equally important#s also worth mentioning that said first guy can ? also die without leaving a corpse? just turn to ash??#depending on where u go with him. which is weird right. thats weird right.#maybe that just means (hey youre not supposed to feel bad about him dying this tiiiime)#anyway its 5 am ill post this in the morning#vee shut up

1 Sci-fi character in a fantasy setting. Like, Detroit Become Human Android in Scum Villain or something. Shen Qingqiu is an Android owned by Shang Qinghua who used to be his editor. He became a deviant out of pure loathing of Sqh's writing. Then they transmigrate? Now there's an android in a fantasy world trying to blend in and survive. Can he cultivate? How does he recharge? I wanna find out.

In a Star Wars universe, Crèche Master Shen Yuan doesn't know what he did to deserve this Dark Sider's attention, but he wishes Binghe would stop trying to fight droids/aliens/space ships for no good reason. The property damage is getting ridiculous. Actually no, that isn't too interesting, Luo Binghe is too op, hmm. Luo Binghe uses some sort of Banishment ritual and Shen Jiu finds himself in the Stargate universe. Ooh, Shen Jiu in Marvel. Tony Stark makes him new arms and legs and they fight about whether cultivation is magic or not. Shen Jiu loves/hates mobile phones. And then Shen Jiu makes his way back to PIDW and brings all his new sci-fi knowledge with him.
3 A kingdom built on misunderstandings. Shen Yuan transmigrates as himself and by applying Airplane Logic to the world, he accidentally makes himself out to look all knowing He's mistaken for so many things. Immortal master, legendary hermit, great seer. People start following him, thinking they're joining a great sect. His works and words get spread out and people think he's thousands of years old. Shen Yuan just wanted to find a nice place to read some local literature, but now he's the Great Scholar, a Sect Leader, the oldest immortal, probably divine in some way and he can't say a thing without people taking it as gospel. Also somewhere along the way, he's become all those things and also there's a sect hall now? And he's not entirely sure how that happened.
4 Angry genre savvy. Shen Yuan has read PIDW back to back; he knows all of its bullshit plot devices. Most of them are mortifying or humiliating or just stupid, and way too many of them involve papapa, but they work. Absolutely furious about it, he applies those plot devices into situations as needed. And what to him is humiliation seems like incredible insight and mastery to others. Shen Yuan hates it but keeps doing it because, goddamnit, it works.
5 Immortality but make it uh, mentally Eldritch? Idk how to explain this one. Sometime ago I glanced at a webcomic where the main character was locked in some kind of liminal space for a million years where he trained himself to be op and came out literally none worse for wear and I was like, "Yeah he should've been mentally pulverised by that, he should've been absolutely disintegrated." So, if you have a magic system that has the ultimate goal of immorality, what does that do to your psyche after hundreds and thousands of years? There's gotta be some intentionally wrought changes with all that cultivation and meditation, because normal human brain capacity and just plain old sapience isn't built for that. What does the mind of a thousand year old cultivator look like? Pretty inhuman, maybe? Shen Qingqiu with a mind like carved jade, polished to perfection over generations, and utterly strange and terrifying to a normal human.

SPOILER REVIEW FOR THE MARVELS
Just got back from the theater, watched it with @that-coolllama and my mom :D
This is all over the place but I'll try to keep it concise.
Let me start off things by saying I didn't have the biggest expectations from this movie. After watching it definitely exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it!
[ But TL;DR Plot Characters, and Comedy were awesome. Couple of Scenes could have added stuff and been a bit better. 8.5/10 ]

Things I liked!:
-I really liked the scene where Carol and Monica were attracted to the light like moths. That was really cool ,they just couldn't stop themselves from getting closer and touching it, human nature.
-Goose was so cute in the beginning! SHE HAD BABIES which was fun. 27 I think. That scene that the kittens were eating all the ppl, hilarious.
-Kamala's family was a nice touch and were supportive, but didn't get in the way. Which was great :D Their duologue was natural.
-The beginning with Kamala's drawings was so fun!
-THE SINGING PLANET AND THE FACT THAT SHES MARRIED AND HER DRESSS AHHHHHHHH CAPTAIN MARVEL IS A PRINCESS?? is this based off something in the Comics? I need to see that. That world is cool and super creative. The universe is vast! Costume And Dance coordinators worked real hard you can tell!
-FIGHT SCENES UGH THE FIGHT SCENES. They were really good and well coordinated. I thought it would be confusing but it wasn't :O. Especially after the training montage 💪
-The 3 Marvel Gals had awesome chemistry! All the dialogue felt so natural between them.
-Monica's Mom dying during the Blip is heartbreaking. Also seeing the background of the hospital in CHAOS was super interesting. I'm glad it is shown that the Blip had an effect on people's lives and not just. "a thing that happened oh well". Kinda reminds me of in Multiverese of Madness that guy tells Dr.Stange that his cat and brother died while he was blipped.
-The Skrull history is so heartbreaking. The Skrull REALLY can't catch a break huh :/ but it does create good world building & is interesting.
-THE END CREDIT SCENE THAT KAMALA IS ASSEMBING A YOUNG ANVENGERS TEAM?! AHHHH !!!!!

-The way the Kree Leader Villain just... disintegrated was crazy. Speaking of her, she was a pretty alright antagonist. I wouldn't go as far as to say that she was a villain since she was doing all this for a pretty good reason. Not that what she was doing was right, but from her perspective I understood where she was coming from.
Things I didn't like/could have used touch up:
-The Special Effects were actual great and I didn't see any problem with it! except the scene where Monica and Kamala are falling in the sky. Other than that they were good throughout!
-Carol - "I caused a Civil War, the decay of a planet, and the Skrull their Home"
Monica- " It's okay, we're family"
LIKE GIRL NO IT IS NOT. okay actually I forgot why the AI was bad so maybe it was worth it but still ;-;
-Out of all the sacrifices that one was a bitttt anti climactic. I think maybe the scene just suffered from being too short. Kamala and Carol should have been shown to react more. Still, was a pretty good sacrifice </3
-Definitely could have been longer. my brother mentioned how the ending kinda feels like a much of cut scenes just Frankenstein-ed together. And yeah and does kinda feel that way.
-Some things I would have loved to see-
Like WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT SINGING PLANTET?!!?!??
Another scene of Goose and her kittens would have been nice.
On the singing planet Carol was like " we need new clothes" and the Prince is like "k" and they just show up with new clothes? Like we didn't see them react to it or anything -_-. C'mon Kamala loving her boots would be such an easy comic book callback.
Kamala calling Bruno and Nakia. Like they were not mentioned once! T_T KAMALA YOU CAN'T FORGET WHERE U CAME FROM.
This may be that I haven't seen ALL the MCU stuff but where did the Skull go? If they have a home now are there Skull on Earth. WHY WASN'T ANYTHING FROM SECRET INVASION MENTIONED.
-Anyways-
-That X-Men End Scene. .... uh ... very interesting to say the least. I have not consumed ANY X-Men content but like to have them in a different timeline than the main MCU is a lil lame, but go off. Idk I'd like to hear the thoughts of anyone who has seen X-Men content.
Overall, I think the comedy, characters, & world building all fit perfectly.
A 8.5/10 movie for me. Can't wait to rewatch it!!!!!

1) What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?
i order it would be : Vrisk, Othia, Alim, Rhea, Yoan, Hibi, Suzka. Vrisk is the one who could stay the longest, until they have to eat basically. Suzka would be the most restless
3) How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)
Rhea and Othia often read before going to bed
Suzka is a fast sleeper, let her get comfy and she's out!
Vrisk meditates, Alim too when tiring himself out exercising isn't working
Hibi uses him light magic to put himself to sleep
Yoan needs something to cuddle, a plush, a pillow or a friend ^^
5)How easy is it to earn their mistrust?
Alim is the most distrustful, close by is Othia
6) Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?
Hibi, Yoan, and Othia would consider it immovable and follow it most (= "they're here for a good reason")
Rhea and Alim see most of them as immovable, and are neutral about it (= "they're here and we can't do much about them")
Vrisk and Suzka are the ones who would find loopholes or straight up break the law if it's in their interest
8) What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child?
Hibi was often pressured by peers (children and adults alike) to talk, thinking of his muteness as a tantrum or a choice
Yoan was most told to pay attention and stop forgetting important things
Rhea was told to stop reading so much by herself (which she never understood how that was a bad thing)
13) What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color?
Vrisk mostly wear deep reds and purples, Yoan greens. i would say it suit them? idk i'm no stylist XD
16) What makes their stomach turn?
hmm i have trouble understanding this question sorry ^^'

Hibi and Alim would be the most easy to embarrass, Hibi because of his shyness and Alim because of his need to be taken seriously
27) What causes them to feel dread?
Alim dread being vulnerable, especially in front of others
for Vrisk it's forgetting, she has lived a long life but there's always that fear whenever she forget something
even though she doesn't show it, Suzka is afraid of losing the people close to her
33) Could they be considered lazy?
during their journey, Othia would be the one considered the most 'lazy', as she is used to the royal life.
40) How sensitive are they to their own flaws?
Yoan, Hibi and Rhea are the most sensitive to them. for Rhea it makes her doubt her place within the group as the journey goes on, Hibi hides his weakness behind Yoan, and Yoan focuses on his strength through toxic positivity in order to not let his negativity take over.
A) Why are you excited about this character?
oh man i'm excited about all of them! it's a story that i've been working on for like 5 years, Hibi and Yoan being the firsts created (explains why i love them so much). i keep reworking them, the plot and the world around them so the story unfolds nicely
B) What inspired you to create them?
i can't quite remember, after i created Hibi and Yoan i just kept finding new people and ideas. though as i fleshed them out some of their traits turned out to be mine as well (or amplified)
F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?
i'm always proud of how far they've all come, but i do feel a bit frustrated working on Rhea and Othia for their characters and motivations, as they're the ones who i relate the least.

I SHOULD be doing school work, but I just had the sudden urge to write a soul mate au for Brett/Ron/Reagen.
I'm not too sure on what soul mate au the fic should focus on. Like, maybe the au of your soulmates name being written on your body? That could be interesting, as I would imagine that Ron would erase the names from the Reagen's body along with her memory, leading her to believe that she just doesn't have a soulmate so she would focus on science.
Ron could also deal with the whole thing of having a guy's name on him while being raised VERY catholic.
Idk know though, like I would imagine that Brett would probably keep the names on himself and would be really eager to find his soul mates?
I also really like the idea of the whole red string au. And it could be really interesting to write a short fic where Ron is in the illuminati, Reagen is at Coginto, and Brett is just some normal politician. Like maybe he works for his brother or something. And the three of them meet one day and they have to deal with the fact that Brett doesn't know that the other two is in the shadow government. Like I can imagine that this fic would probably focus on Ron's and Reagen's rivalry quite a bit.
Like maybe the fic starts off with the three of them meeting all at once, and Ron and Reagen realize who the other is. And Ron doesn't want to get involved with someone like Brett because he believes that he will hurt Brett, and Brett is such a nice and sweet guy that he can't bare to hurt him. And Reagen doesn't really believe in romance and doesn't believe that she could ever fall in love with someone whose as big of a prick as Ron, or someone so sweet and simple as Brett.
But, when Reagen and Ron are alone and realize that they CAN'T let Brett know about the shadow government. And Ron says something like, "Oh I'm glad that you agree that it's a bad idea to date Brett. I mean, look at you," *gestures to Reagen's whole body* "he shouldn't have to be dragged into whatever the hell you got going on." And Reagen is like, What The Fuck Does That Mean.
So the two are now in a rivalry with each other to prove to the other that they can treat Brett just fine, along with the fact that they don't trust the other with Brett. I mean, they're only bound to fuck up and get Brett's mind erased or sent to shadow prison! They can't let that happen to their soulmate!
So Brett, who was kinda lead to believe that both of his soulmates want nothing to do with him, now has too very eager soulmates who want to take him on a date, but separately and not with their third soulmate.
And the relationship turns from simply turning to on up someone from their rival company, to actually falling for Brett and realizing what a great and sweet guy he is, which turns to them wanting to protect him even MORE. Along with both of them trying desperately to hide what they do for a living from Brett. With them eventually making a trace as they need to come together to protect Brett from some conspiracy. And the eventual fall out of Brett finally learning what the two do for work.
So yeah uh, that's my idea for a soul mate au lol.
I'm just not sure whether I want the au to be a red string au, or possibly an count down au? Where they know when they're going to meet their soulmates in person?
I also have some other ideas for soul mates aus. Such as a au where whatever someone writes on their body, gets transfered into their soulmates body as well.
With the classic trope of the three of them not realizing that the other three are their soulmates. Possibly a rival au too, one on which Reagen kept her dislike of Brett and Ron.
Or a color au! Where people can only see in greys until they see their soulmate, and them the world turns colorful. I don't really have a plot for that one, I just always really liked that au lol.
Anyway, I would love to talk about soulmate aus for these three!!! I absolutely adore soulmate aus, and I think it'll be really interesting with these three!!

I saw a post in Korean on twitter that said something like "no matter how much I think about it, there has to be something more to Taiga's admiration of Kazuki." and I didn't feel like I should reply to them because it would absolutely get lost in translation, but I wrote up a post that I put in my circle instead. This is that post, if anyone is interested? This is probably the most character analysis I've done in my entire life lmao.
I think it would be disrespectful for me to randomly reply to this person, but I extremely want to reply "Of course there is [something more to his admiration], he's gay!" There's no world where Taiga isn't gay coded! Other than Louis he's the most gay character in King of Prism! Now I'm going to explain why I think this. :D
I know the 10? people in my twitter circle will not read this and not care, but it's important! Taiga is gay! Taiga's entire backstory is that when he was a child he met a street dancer who was really nice to him, and fell madly in love with him. It was his first childhood crush.
Later in life he finds out the performer became a famous celebrity, and he changes the course of his life to follow in his crushes footsteps. He's known for buying Kazuki's merch, and even wears his buttons on his uniform every single day.
(K Kazuki button + green bracelet)
There's plot and stuff I don't want to get into, but once he becomes a fellow student with Kazuki he makes it his mission to protect him. He puts himself in harms way for Kazuki, all the while continuing to look up to him and do his best to make him proud.
The two's birthdays are one day apart, and during Taiga's own birthday song for the game he wishes a happy birthday to Kazuki instead of himself! Like ??????????
But ok maybe you think, that's not gay he just idolizes Kazuki. Well maybe it was that, until SSS came around.
In SSS Taiga admits most of this backstory while naked in a bath with his friends, and when he realizes what he said he makes this fucking blushy face and freaks out.
Idk bro this is GAY PANIC if I've ever seen it.
BUT IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH! This episode ends with Taiga having a confrontation with Kazuki, where all his friends encourage him to "Tell him your feelings." Taiga starts, but hesitates too much and loses his opportunity.
And that would be all, except in King of Prism: All Stars they run a call and response section where the audience repeats some of Taiga's famous lines. As a funny moment they added an alternative version of that scene, where TAIGA ACTUALLY CONFESSES.
Now I'm American, and I'm a gay man who specifically imagines all the characters in the media he likes as gay, but you can't tell me that this situation shouldn't be read as "they can't directly say he's in love with Kazuki, the show would be canceled."
So anyway if you don't think he's gay after this scene you're homophobic. ;) I'm kidding, everyone has their own interpretation of the characters, and I hope you enjoy mine!

I kinda want to start readingn yu yu hakusho (manga first bc thats how i roll) sooo would u be interested in pitching the plot and whatnot for me? I know this is smth I could just google buuut, Id like to get some info straight from the best source :3 (a nd fan whos likes to ramble)
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 OKAY SO idk what all the differences are between the manga and the anime (havent read the manga yet but i want to eventually) but yu yu hakusho starts off with, from the very get-go, the protagonist dying! yup, main character just dead right at the start, and the next part is a plot for him going through a test from the spirit world to get his life back! its actually pretty emotional, because yusuke (the protag) didnt want to come back until he realize how much the people hes closed to cared about him, but throughout the show he makes more friends and realizes more of what he wants to live for (while theyre all constantly risking their lives in battles jfkdjfj) and becomes way more well off by the end of the show.
a lot of the show is yusuke taking various cases from spirit world as their designated spirit detective, fighting demons and sometimes humans to protect the world through the use of his spirit gun power! theres a whole lot of excellent humor along with intense moments, and i cant pinpoint exactly how they do it but even the funny stuff happening during serious moments dont really retract from each other, unlike how some other series it can feel like awkward tone shifts.
yusuke is a snarky son of a bitch, absolute delinquent that loves to kick ass. hes defintely not the brightest, but he makes up for that in sheer willpower (and luck lol). hes not a pure goody boy protag, hes a lovable asshole!
kuwabara is similar to yusuke in being a delinquent that loves to fight, but he has much more of an honor code and actually tries to be polite and really sweet sometimes (especially to his big crush in the show) despite his usual brash loudness lol. hes the himbo of the group! he also has a kitten he loves :3
kurama is one of my top favorite characters ever (and my kin) because hes just so??? interesting??? hes literally the best character in the show to put in a situation. any of them. so none of this is spoilers bc this is all shit he straight up tells as soon as he shows up in like, episode 7 or something: hes a fox demon thief that almost was killed, but he managed to transfer his spirit into an unborn human child and was raised by his human mother, whos kindness ended up changing him from cruel and ruthless, to a much kinder person. hes a interesting mix of characteristics, where he can equally be the kindest of the group, but he can also still be the most ruthless. plus they really play up the pretty boy factor and his main weapon is a rose whip hes fucking great. also despite him being a lot kinder now hes still defintely an asshole sometimes and loves messing with people bc hes still a fox at heart.
THEN HIEI. HIEI HIEI HIEI HIEI I LOVE HIM SO SO SO SOSOOOOOO MUCH. him and kurama are partners (demon partners but gay partners too bc i say so, and also theres no one else hiei compliments so much like he does with kurama and theyre like 90% of the time together and kurama teases hiei SO MUCH and theyre just adorable okay,) hes my hearthrob trope of angsty edgy guy whos so tsundere about actually caring about people but hes actually SO soft deep down and just needs more love in his life. and is super hot. literally anytime this dude gets into battle he often either rips his shirt off or his shirt rips itself off by the sheer power of his fucking energy i love him. hes such a badass. and he has nice tits. and hes soooo soso sososososoososo cute he has the most adorable surprised faces and hfjjjdjfk OKAY ill try to hold off the gay a little bit to actually explain his character. hes such a rude little asshole and is often the quiet one at the edge of the room thatll snark you if he catches you being dumb. hes such a tsundere about having friends and caring about them but even yusuke can see through his shit and calls him out on it and says hiei will be there when they need him. short angry man gets friends who he cares for and who cares for him.
BTW THO there is some Iffy Moments in the show id recommend checking out the doesthedogdie site for various trigger stuff if u think ud need it !!! and unfortunately the anime often has a LOT of flashing lights so if that would affect you then you may have to stick to the manga, or maybe theres someone whos edited the show to be safe for photosensitive folks?? do ppl do that? idk. but still despite some flaws in the series, the characters are just so !!!!!! [SQUEEZES THEM LIKE A SQUISHY TOY] im literally so obsessed with them theyre just a fun cast with the best interactions aaa theyre like family to me (bc im kurama kinnie)

summary: Kim, the student body president, gets intertwined in a prank pulled by P’Mek’s YouTube channel. As a result, both groups of friends get punished by the chancellor into creating shipping content for MekKim, the new BL ship at their university.
where to watch: youtube
grade: 8/10
pros:
- every ship is great, I really liked them all which is rare. usually I prefer one ship over the others, but here each ship really had their own distinctive vibe with mekkim being enemies to friends to lovers, bearbomb with the fan to lover & a more innocent aspect I guess, leepark with the established domestic relationship & timmai with the best friends to lovers trope. each ship worked really well imo!
- while the plot is pretty basic, the story is still very enticing, and for me it’s down to the writing. since it has more slice of life elements, it’s really nice to follow the characters, and they all feel quite realistic while still being fun & interesting. the friendships are also pretty well developed, especially mek & bear who have a full blown fight, and I think it was nice to see that friendships are as important as love in a romantic show. so yeah, while the writing is not out of this world bc the story in itself isn’t anything to write home about, it still elevated the show enough for me to really enjoy it.
- the characters are lovely, as said right above. each of them has a very defined personality & goes to significant character development which is always nice, and they all have well defined storylines & problems as well. they are definitely one of biggest draws to the show and add a lot of personality to it.
- despite a lot of the early plot surrounding shipping, it was one of the least grating examples of bl fans I’ve seen in a series? like, am I a fan of this self-aware trope? no. but was this necessarily annoying? not really. and THAT is a step up from pretty much every other show with this trope lol
cons:
- the second half of the show is definitely less enticing bc most ships are already together & personally what I like the most is seeing two people fall in love and not necessarily too much of the aftermath.
- idk what it is with LITERALLY 1 in 2 bl show using the “going abroad to study/work” trope, but I’m bored. it wasn’t done badly in this show, in fact I think it was one of the best examples of this trope being used, but... still so boring & basic, like... they definitely could’ve done better. such a lazy way to introduce conflict & drama.
would I rewatch it: sure!
I started this show on a night of boredom expecting very little, and it actually really managed to pull me in & I had a great time watching it. Is it revolutionary & incredible? Not really. Is it one of the rare more “basic” bl shows that manages to not be completely boring? Yes! So I would honestly recommend it :)

More Mini Book Reviews
Truly, Darkly, Deeply by Victoria Selman - Not my usual thing, but I picked it up and read it anyway because why not and it was alright! I thought the ending was a bit naff, but the rest of it explored some pretty interesting ideas. It was about a girl whose mum was dating a serial killer (obviously they didn't know at the time) and how his arrest really impacted them.
Temeraire or His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik, book 1 of the Temeraire series - Not me out here almost crying at the connection between man and beast. Seriously I really loved this one, it's like Httyd but for adults, and I'm absolutely living for it. Also I really like books about ships - something about the idea of a crew really appeals to me I think - and this really hit that spot for me. Also, the dragons are cool.
Scarlet by Genevieve Cogman, book 1 of the Scarlet Revolution Series - Basically just some good fun! It's not a vampire romance as many will be pleased to know, and the vampires do actually pose a threat, which is nice. It's set in an alternate-universe French revolution, and explores such ideas as 'hmm, maybe the beheadings were a bit too far but would it really be so bad to take down all the rich people?'. Idk, I enjoyed it.
The Witch's Warning by Joseph Delaney, book 2 (the final book) of the Aberrations series - Very good indeed, Delaney is brilliant at making dark spooky worlds full of horrors and monsters. Just really is a shame he died before he could finish the series as the only thing that lets this book down is that it spends a fair bit of time building up to a sequel that never gets to happen.
The Family Remains by Lisa Jewel, the sequel to The Family Upstairs - Really, really good follow-up book to the first one, using everything you learned about the characters there to build tension in this one. Lots of different things happening, multiple POVs, interconnecting storylines, and wrapping up some loose plot points from the last book. I recommend this pair a lot to people in the library and most seem to like it!
Spook's: Alice by Joseph Delaney, book 12 of the Wardstone Chronicles - God I love this character. As with all of this series, you can definitely tell they're books written for children, but that doesn't mean they're bad, nor do they shy away from some pretty gruesome stuff. We're winding up now for the final book as this is the second to last and things are looking exciting. I can't say too much about this one without spoiling it unfortunately but just know that it's as solid as the rest of the series.
The Outlaws Scarlett and Browne by Jonathan Stroud, book 1 of the Scarlett and Browne series - I actually read this before a couple of years ago and decided to read it again before I read the sequel because I'd forgotten what happened. It's a really good book; Stroud really know what he's doing. If you liked Lockwood & Co. for the character interactions then you'll love this. The worldbuilding is on point, the characters feel full-dimensional, and the hijinks is everpresent. Just a really fun read.
Dracula by Bram Stoker - I went to Whitby on holiday for a few days so naturally took this with me. I don't read very many classics at all so it took a little while for me to tune into the language and get used to everyone taking two pages to say what could have been said in two sentences, but once I did I had a grand old time with it. I wouldn't say it's anywhere near scary by today's standards, but it was interesting to see where a lot of modern tropes got their origins. Also, I've read Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu before and it was cool to be able to mentally compare and contrast them and see where Bram Stoker was inspired by different things.
The Notorious Scarlett and Browne by Jonathan Stroud, book 2 of the Scarlett and Browne series - Just as good as the first if not better. Where the first book focused more on Albert and where he'd come from and his backstory, in this one we explore more of Scarlett's history and how she came to be the person she is today. Fast-paced, witty, and packed with actions, I really enjoyed it and strongly recommend it!
The Mystery of Three Quarters by Sophie Hannah - Read this one for my book club and it was... alright. Nothing special, but not bad enough to not finish. I didn't manage to solve the mystery unfortunately but that's no surprise, though I will say that it did feel pretty convoluted. Not too sure why the character of Hercule Poirot was used other than to cash in on the name of course, and Sophie Hannah is definitely no Agatha Christie, but, like I said, it was okay.
Girls With Razor Hearts by Suzanne Young, book 2 of the Girls With Sharp Sticks series - Sometimes, you just want to read a book about sisterhood and taking down the patriarchy. From some of the fics I've seen around, people who really enjoyed those parts of the Barbie movie might enjoy these books. They're by no means subtle in their messaging, but sometimes I like a book that just lays everything out on the table in front of you because it's borderline impossible to misinterpret them. Definitely feels like a teen-fic book, but that's okay because it is one.
The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan, book 2 of the Heroes of Olympus series - Do I really need to say anything about this one? We all know Riordan is brilliant.
Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield - Oh boy this one was A Lot TM. Kind of an eldritch horror story in Leah's bits, and then a story about mourning someone who's not really gone and learning to let go in Miri's chapters. Very much a 'came back wrong' sort of scenario, but less scary and more just deeply sad. I had to take a break and go look at trees for a while after I finished it. The ending was low-key heartbreaking.
Revival by Stephen King - Sort of promised myself I wouldn't read any more of his books but here I am. This one was actually pretty good for the most part though! Not very horror-y, I didn't think, but still a good story. The only bit I didn't like was when the 52 year old protagonist is sleeping with the 24 year old daughter of his co-worker, but I honestly should have expected that because this is a Stephen King book.

Also, because I genuinely want to hear more about it, what's the Revived Mari AU? You've talked about it before and it seems very interesting, but I don't think you've given a proper summary before. I mean, I talked to you about my AUs for days in your ask box, that makes it fair game for you to talk about AUs to me. -🎀
OKAYYYY.. revived mari revived mari. i dont know entireellyyy?? how to summarize it <- theres a lot going on and also i tend to be a bit indecisive so i kinda change things around sometimes. i can answer any other questions you have thoo!!
anyways uhh. basic plot rundown. forgive me for poor wording i kinda struggle to explain this stuff </3. After Mari's death and her being a ghost for a short while, she ends up inside Sunny's headspace, taking the form of headspace Mari.. For awhile being there is actually,, very nice for her. Of course it would be to her, especially at this point.. Its a world where shes alive. Where she still has her friends. Where she feels... a lot less angry and upset. She isnt sure how to feel about.. her brother here. Omori.. silent and near emotionless. It doesn't feel right but when shes here she cant exactly figure out why. But she can easily disregard it for now. This place is nice and shes happy here.!
But,, then headspace resets. She doesnt exactly,, remember it. or what happened before it but. she can kind of tell something is wrong. things feel like theyre repeating. it feels off and. she wants to leave. and she does,,, but. not for long. shes quickly drawn back to headspace.. (<- made up ghost lore stuff. ghosts easily get attached to certain things, such as buildings, people, etc. they can go away from these technically but will always end up being drawn back). Mari cannot leave Headspace pretty much,, even less so the longer she stays there. Things quickly go down hill from there. which is explained in this post but tldr: with each Headspace reset Mari loses a piece of herself and her memories in the process.
Things continue like this for the next 4 years up until Sunny begins going outside again. I think him doing that and him repressing some of his memories a bit less also helps Mari regain some of her memories too. which allows the scene at the dreamworld ocean and the scene at her piano to happen.. though when she really gets all her memories back is first when the black light bulb gets broken and Sunny goes through the truth sequence + when Sunny goes through Memory Lane... She performs the Final Duet with him and watches him leave Whitespace behind before her vision and consciousness fade away. She is happy and shes ready to pass on.
Thats until... she wakes up some time later (a couplee months id say? maybe during christmas break.), in the middle of the night and shes seemingly broken out of her own coffin. Its the most alive she's felt in years, its feels nothing like Headspace. But she feels as if this has to be a dream, another version of Headspace perhaps? One thats more like the real world Faraway town now. But either way she.. kind of has no idea what to do with herself, she no longer has a script to follow like she did in Headspace. Which I imagine is,, quite the sudden change after 4 years. She ends up just kind of wandering for a bit after leaving out the church, eventually finding herself at the old hangout spot (and.. accidentally scaring off Angel and The Maverick, who had decided to sneak out there. idk to be rebellious or what ever <- kind of a joke idea i came up with ig) She sits down at the abandoned picnic blanket and falls asleep there. <- thats kiinda where she hangs out for a little bit. Up until a small black cat runs in and quickly goes over to her, its purple collar having the name Mewo on it, soon followed by 2 younger boys, Sunny and Basil. She immediately stops at the sight of them, and they do the same. The 3 of them are all kind of stunned, but Basil and Sunny almost immediately run off as soon as Mari opens her mouth to say something.
^ ^ thiiiis is kind of where the stuff i have becomes very non-linear. i still have ideas and stuff but theyre more broken apart and inconsistent. but this is most of like the main plot/lore stuff thats important

So Lightfall is certainly a thing.
Narrative: ??/10 - what happened here
Gameplay: 9/10 - Largely fun, some bugs and a couple issues with Strand make it less enjoyable.
Characters: 10/10 - I love every character they gave us. Every single one of them. Nimbus is a beautiful Thembo. The faceless NPCs that chat with us over the radio are great, I would go to war for Sam and I barely know him.
Aesthetic: 9/10 - a vibe tbh. They did absolutely nail the 80s scifi action flick fantasy they were aiming for. My only complaint about that is that most of those movies are fairly shallow, and this expansion echoed that.
Overall, I'm still having fun with the game. I'm confused and vaguely annoyed about how much emphasis was put on Strand during the campaign instead of like... What was happening In The Campaign. There's some post campaign stuff that's holding my interest at the moment, and the Season of Defiance story looks like it might be well put together, so I'm waiting to form my full opinion on the release until at least post-raid. Things change in these expansions once the world's first, so that might change how I'm feeling about it at the moment.
I played a lot of Rift, and when I could see people it was a blast. Threadrunner is real weak in crucible rn, but has a lot of potential to get really busted. While I'm glad to see Bungie didn't ship Strand anywhere NEAR as hot as Stasis, the underwhelming aspects of the subclasses really make the whole release suffer tbh. Especially for how much emphasis was placed on it. It's really obvious too that Strand was intended for Witch Queen, because it lines up so much better thematically. I'm not sure what state Strand was in when they shipped Witch Queen, or what they would have needed to cut to have it ready to go, but... IDK it just doesn't fit with what they were giving us in Lightfall.
I'm really just banking on "Mr. Whispers" (eyes emoji eyes emoji) pulling some wild shit and making me go OOOOOOOH at some of the honestly wild plot holes. Root of Nightmares needs to be real good, is all I'm saying.
On a positive note: Nimbus action figure collectibles? Adorable. Poukas? I need 35. Osiris reflexively talking to Sagira out of habit? Destroyed me. Caiatl? Metal as fuck. Perfection. Mara? My wife my queen? Would die for her in a heartbeat. Having a mix of Techeuns/Corsairs, Eliksni, and Cabal on the tower the helm to put our current alliances on display for all to see? Delightful. The Cayde memorial? Rude. Made me sad. 10/10. DEVRIM BACK WITH HIS BEAUTIFUL GIDEON EMERY VOICE? Yes. Good. Wonderful. I missed you. The Witness seemed actually threatening for once. Nice change.
Mostly I just have SO MANY QUESTIONS and have exactly ZERO concrete answers at this point and I feel like that's not super great given the timeline of what's supposedly happening lmao. GIMME SOMETHING BUNGO.
