I love the Levihan trope of oblivious x head over heels. Just the idea of Hange, humanity’s smartest, being completely oblivious to Levi’s feelings as well as their own and Levi who is outwardly cold and unemotional getting butterflies and feeling absolutely flustered whenever Hange is mentioned. And the rest of the vets are aware and are just watching their train wrecks of interactions everyday.

The more responsibilities that Hange has to bare, the least she remembers to take care of herself. Levi has been worried since they were named commander. It starts when he notices how her clothes fit looser, how the eye bags on their eyes get darker, their expression emptier.

He doesn't want to bring it up, Hange is grown, they are quite literally his superior- it even seems disrespectful to bring it up, but still. She was also his best friend, the person closest to him, the one who slept by his side every night and made him tea every morning. He couldn't help but worry.

So he starts casually dropping by Hange's office while unassumingly eating a snack, chatting with her for a bit and then offering the rest- which is usually basically the whole snack but a couple bites, before leaving again.

He starts hanging out in their office when it starts getting late, hiding behind the excuse that he has to sort out some paperwork and Hange's office is the most quiet place around. He never leaves until she does, he sits around for a couple hours, making sure she heads home at reasonable time.

After a few weeks of this, he's pretty happy. When he enters Hange's office in the afternoon the food he leaves there is pretty much always finished and he can't remember the last time he woke up in the morning just to find that Hange pulled and all nighter and didn't return home at all. He allows himself a little satisfied smile, as they walk side by side on the poorly lit street, about to get home.

"Thank you" He turns and Hange is looking down at him, their expression soft but confindent.

"What are you talking about?"

"You know what I'm talking about" A single look into their eyes and it was clear his apparently not-so-secret plan had been discovered.

"Ah..."

"You sneak up on your enemies real good, honey, but you're not subtle at all"
