Ok, so hungarian nicknames, I thought to mainly compare the ones I saw in your post. I actually logged in to desktop to write this ask cause formatting kept screwing me up on mobile.
Mein(e) Liebe/Liebste - my love/dear - szerelmem/drágám(kedvesem) (drágám is often used, the others aren't foreign but might get you called cheesy, I personally like kedvesem a lot) 'szerelem' (love) is the base word that turns into 'szerelmem' to signify that you're My love. 'drága' (expensive) turns into 'drágám'. 'Kedves' (nice or kind) is the base word that turns into 'kedvesem'.
Mein Schatz - my precious - drágaságom (used more jokingly, especially if one knows of Gollum) drágám is more like an adjective while 'drágaságom' is the noun version and yes hungarian Gollum says this
Mein(e) Spatz(el)/Taube - my sparrow/dove - verebem/galambom (will get you teased if used very publicly but i think it's cute) 'Veréb' turns into 'verebem' and 'galamb' turns into 'galambom'
Mein Herz - my heart - szívem (very common pet name, szívecském too as a very diminutive form, used more jokingly) 'szív' is the base word, turns into 'szívem'. It's written with a long "í" that is pronounced as a long "í" in szív but is pronounced as a short 'i' in szívem (usually, dialects differ everywhere tho)
Schnucki - cute (cutie?) - cuki (aranyos) I'm pretty sure cuki comes from 'cukor' which means sugar. Aranyos is the less slangy way of saying it but it's not used as a pet name (arany = gold, aranyos could mean cute or endearing or golden, though the golden use of aranyos is old fashioned and not really used)
Hasi - bunny - nyuszi(m) (used frequently) 'Nyúl' is the base word that turns into 'nyuszi' or 'nyuszim'. Nyúl isn't used as a pet name, it's always turned into nyuszi first and maybe nyuszim to signify 'my'.
Kätzchen - kitten - cica (cicám) I put this here cause kitten is so prevelant in fic and i have the great fortune that my mom has called me the equivalent ALL my life and still. So whenever I see it now it gives me the most visceral of icks. (:
The rest of the nicknames don't really have a counterpart but i do wanna ask what "Däubsche" means cause google translate doesn't help.
Well, I hope you'll find this interesting, I went and checked google translate and it pronounces the words quite well if you're wanting to know how they sound like!
Thank you for such a thorough list/ explanation! I need to remember to look the pronounciation up because I am very curious!
Also drágaságom makes me think of dragons 😂 and just based on how I pronounced them in my head I really like aranyos. The word is giving me ✨ vibes ✨
Which brings me to some you mentioned I didn’t.
So I left out the literal translation for cute/ sweet would be Süße/Süßer but that‘s only used when you flirt with people as far as I know and not when you’re longer in a relationship.
Kitten I left out on purpose because I’ve never heard anybody call their significant other that though it could get more prevalent with fanfic but idk. Also something that might be used as flirting or teasing.
I think a lot of people use Baby nowadays, especially millennials and under. My mom uses Schatzi/ Schatz a lot which I’ve also heard with younger people.
Okay for Däubschen: there are some German dialects where certain hard sounds like T and P are turned into softer sounds like D and B as well as ch into sch. „Chen“ as an ending or „schen“ in dialect always makes a word mean the cuter (and usually smaller) version of whatever you have.
Taube -> Täubchen (cute version of dove) and in dialect (don’t ask me which dialect lol) it then would be Däubschen which truly sounds atrocious
Hope this made sense I wrote this after waking up from a nap

ughhhh me too. in the past I said I wouldn't mind watching a slice of life about knb, and it's still true now ;-; I tried getting into fujimaki-sensei's other manga about baseball....but eh.. it just didn't hook me.. if it were to become an anime though, I think I'd be interested
I think I need to have a listening spree of the new album hahahaha SAME I feel like with their self-titled, they really found their sound.. for me, it's THAT album that got me into them. I still remember the first time I ever saw Afterlife on MTV and what I was doing and how I reacted (and how I fell in love with Synyster Gates hahahaha) did you have a *favourite* member? ngl, I was a total fangirl for Syn (if my previous statement didn't give it away yet 😂) and I still have a reaaalllyyyyy soft spot for him when I look back at my teenage self, but in its entirety I've definitely grown out of it and just respect each band member as a musician and artist
I wouldn't say it's amazing, but more of a convenience. so if you're on your phone most of the time, it's handy to have. although I preferred it in the past where the customization was minimal lmao just so there are fewer things to fuss about.. now you gotta make a theme for a desktop version AND mobile version.. yeah.. and I think most of the users now prefer to just like stuff or passively scroll through the app.. oh true.. before, a mutual's mutual would more often be in the same fandom as you and it was THAT easy. now, it's hard to even begin where to look.. it's nice to see those old posts from time to time. like it's still alive after all these years 😂 (lol yeah on other social media, a post either dies out or is reposted—which I find really annoying. I see the same post 10 times but from different usernames..like talk about originality) I was on twitter for a while until it became X which sucked 🫤
awww hahaha gotta thank that stray cat 😂
thank you so much, I appreciate it 🥺 I've been doing some journaling.. I guess it's helping.. and just trying to ground myself with things I used to enjoy and surrounding myself with good company. though I really wish there was a fast forward button for recovery
really i didn't know he had a baseball manga! now that you mention baseball, have you seen diamond no ace? i remember watching quite a few episodes but i don't think i finished it, i think it was ongoing back then when i was watching. i wonder if i should get back to it...
DONT TELL ME YOU ALSO DISCOVERED THEM ON MTV LMAOOOO i saw the nightmare video there for the 1st time and got hooked !!! that's so funny, mtv used to be pretty good, found a bunch of bands on there back in the day. and yea i totally get you, syn was definitely the coolest!! i don't think i had a fav member but i found matt the most attractive back when he had super short hair >.> but when i saw them live in 2013 he had long hair so that was unfortunate hahahaha. what other bands are you into?? i've been obsessed with dir en grey lately if you don't know them you gotta check em out trust me on this one :p
wtf a theme for the mobile version, that sounds like a hassle. yep definitely ends up being like the more new features they introduce on social media, the more cumbersome everything gets, cause it seems like they don't even think em through more often than not..
you know what, another thing i find refreshing about tumblr nowadays is the lack of reels/shorts/tiktoks whatever they call short form videos lmao idk abt you but i never really got into them (unless they include some cute animals lol)
it seems like you're handling it in a healthy manner, i'm rly happy to hear that! 🌸 i know what you mean, but you really gotta take it a day at a time, it's gonna be much better for you in the long run than if you were to bottle up everything and "force" healing. you'll see, soon enough you'll be surprised to find yourself not even thinking about the person for several days. it happens naturally somehow, and you'll be an even stronger person mentally for having dealt with everything this way

3, 4, 5, 18, and 30 from the ask game?
3. what are your favorite stims to include in stimboards? i love to include cake/cookie decorating gifs, glittery things (especially glittery liquids like this or this), crystals, and nature-related stims!
4. what’s your favorite unpopular stim (that you’d really like to see more gifs of 👀)?
hmm i honestly have not really thought about this! i feel like there's such a wide variety of stim content out there nowadays. OH but i guess one thing i can think of is that in one board i made i used this flipbook gif. it's so stimmy and fun to watch but it's like, the only flipbook gif i've ever seen? so, it'd be nice to see more like that.
5. what’s your least favorite stim to include in a board?
off the top of my head, i've never liked reversed gifs or frozen paint. but especially the former because something about them is just strangely unsettling to me. like seeing a cupcake get undecorated or a coloring page get uncolored? no thanks. i'd try to include them, or frozen paint, if asked but they're the opposite of stimmy to me.
18. describe your general process for making stimboards.
oh man i feel like i suck at explaining things but let's see... so, i make all of my boards on my PC--i know some people do it on mobile, but desktop is what's always worked best for me. and when i get to working on a request or an idea that i have in mind, the first thing i do is think about the aesthetic and types of stims that i think might fit. when it's a fictional character (particularly if it's a character i'm really familiar with) i like to try and include aspects of their character in it if i can, for example when i made this malleus draconia board i have the ice cream, the gargoyle, and the tamagotchi in there because those are things malleus himself really likes! i'll have a list on my computer of ideas for what i think i may wanna include, though sometimes i'll also search up boards other people have made to get inspiration, especially if i have a lot of ideas that i'm having trouble narrowing down or if i don't really know the character.
and then as i'm finding gifs i think i might wanna use, i save all the posts with them into my drafts so that i'll be able to link the sources later, and then save the ones i like best into a computer folder and if i've ended up with too many gifs (which is often, because i'm indecisive), i play around with them in the post editor and just swap them out until i'm able to decide which gifs i like the best. then i move them around and adjust the composition of the board until i'm happy with how it looks. i do also make some of the gifs myself sometimes if i've looked on here and can't find something i really want to include, like the gargoyle gif from the malleus stimboard i linked. oh, and i also make sure they're all sized properly and crop some of them if need be, because i personally don't like when the rows in stimboards are uneven sizes! like if some of the gifs i wanna use have long rectangular dimensions i'll need to go into ezgif and crop them to be squares, so that the gifs around them will all stay square and match with everything else. sometimes they still show up uneven on my desktop theme for some reason, but if a board looks right in the editor then i know it'll look right on mobile/on the dashboard. i hope this all makes sense and isn't a terrible explanation lol, feel free to ask if you want more specific details or anything.
30. what’s your favorite method of finding stim gifs?
hmm i honestly just search either my own blog or the tags on tumblr for gifs to use! i try to search for specific terms and then if i'm using tumblr search add "stim" to the end of it. like if i'm looking for gifs of pink slime i'll go on my own blog and search for "pink slime" and look through the posts for a bit, or if i'm using tumblr's search i'll type in "pink slime stim" and scroll through.

Cleaning my room, out of frustration
Day 77 - Jan 21st, 12.024
I'm still somewhat lost on what to do and think without my desktop. It's hard to explain, I simply too accustomed using it as an extension of my body in the same way smartphones are an extension of our bodies nowadays, it feels like I'm using an early cellphone, that ones with a keyboard as my daily driver now. And it started to infuriate me, not so much to actual rage, but to be annoyed that I'm not working, that I'm doing nothing.
There's something that happens to me sometimes, that is "doing something out of frustration", but not in a way that I don't want to do something, I actually start to feel that I need to do something. I need to do something or else I will hate myself. And to be honest, I don't know if it is a good or a bad habit, because sometimes it helps me get out of my comfort zone or idle/procrastinating state, to one that I start cleaning my hole room in the next 2-3 hours non-stop. However, this same urge sometimes happens in the middle of the night, when I need to sleep, but this feeling doesn't let me because I start to think how much I wasted the day, and I don't think it would be a good idea to pass the night awake working and screw up my sleeping routine instead of just doing the thing tomorrow.
Nonetheless, it was good to clean my room listening to ULTRAKILL's ost and let said frustration pass out as I finished it, I needed to clean it for months, so it's good to finally do so. Something which I underestimate sometimes is how much cleaning your room cleans your mind. Nonetheless, maybe I could some day learn how to use better this frustration and anger that I have sometimes to be able to complete and do things more often and more determined.
Hopefully tomorrow, I'm able to make this laptop somewhat useable to me and start configuring my home-server again.

Just me rambling about art programs.
About this post, I tried most of these art programs.
I am used to Photoshop, because I've been using it since 2007 or something. I also liked SAI for a while, but I don't use it anymore.
I have tried Sketchbook many times, but I don't like it that much on my desktop. But back when I had a Samsung tablet, I used it a lot and it was fine. I never could get the hang of Fire Alpaca. I kept getting a bug with Medibang. Now it seems to be working fine, but I'm still not big on using it.
I like Krita and Clip Studio Paint.
Nowadays, I am more often on Procreate on my iPad.
The issue I have encountered through using so many apps and software, is that not all software will be 100% compatible with the PSD format. Clip Studio Paint will save text as pixels when saving in PSD format. You need to save in Clip Studio format to keep the text editable. The layer options are not exactly the same across all software, either. You have to be careful.

I have a question. For a while popular British shows tended to be about messy youths who were working-middle class. But nowadays it's more period dramas or mysteries/thrillers, often involving posh people. Even the popular comedies lean posh. As a result that's become the default perception of British people & it's weirdly dehumanising? Joe Gilgun & Brassic I think are a refreshing break from that and have shown there's more going on in the UK than people in other countries are exposed to. 1/2
Tumblr media
(Sorry for the late reply, I've not been on my desktop for like a week lol)
So I wouldn't classify myself on the biggest expert on British media or media as a whole, but I'll do my best to give some personal thoughts on this.
As an American, I kinda grew up on sort of kitchen sink dramas, shows and movies centered on the working class. And so UK (as well as NZ/Australian) shows and movies of that sort of genre were always accessible and familiar to me. I would say that as much as UK media really loved their costume drama, the working class dramas were also a big specialty.
But I think in terms of what we're seeing now, the sort of Post-Downton Effect as it were, is purely just gravitating towards what audiences want to see and what studios are willing to take financial risks on. I will say that unless its like a Shane Meadows production that has been proven without a doubt to be successful, or Steve McQueen who again has that sort of proven track record, less and less risks are being taken and less and less studios are willing to invest in something that won't guarantee the numbers.
I think some of the factors you can attribute to the way Western media in general has changed is everything related to the way media is consumed nowadays; the tweetable OMG moments, the aesthetics, the need to do the outlandish all the time to keep shortened attention spans of younger audiences. There's an increase of hypersexuality in teen-focused media between shows like Euphoria and Elite. There's a key difference there between teens writing for teens like on Skins and grown adults writing teens like on the aforementioned shows. I think streaming changes a lot of what gets made- studios have to worry about making something that attracts viewers from all over the world, not just from their own country.
I don't necessarily think any of these factors are on their own BAD (aside from the oversexualization of teens which is a PROBLEM), becos trends evolve and change all the time. But I think the biggest issue that the industry across the world has, is not about who the target audiences or even the subject of that media, but WHO is making it. It frankly doesn't matter of your whole cast is as diverse as they come if the only people who get to have a say in the creation is Posh Upper Class writers and directors.
I think its more dehumanizing having your story told by people who are so far removed from your experience and are essentially just using it for Award Fodder and CV padding. (That's why Moonlight was so genuine and amazing, and the Moonlight knock-offs like Waves was not.) It's honestly a whole other discussion for another time.
And so getting back to Brassic (I would even through Derry Girls into this as well), I think what makes it so SPECIAL is because it is a working class show created by working class people. He talked about this in an interview where he talked about how so much working class dramas tend to focus on how terrible and miserable it all is, and what Joe wanted to showcase was the love and the laughs that are just as abundant. There's drama for sure, but that's not the entire experience of what it means to live in these communities. But I think it works because it's not trying to mass appeal to the world, but showing an authentic depiction of a specific community which inadvertently can be relatable to people all over. Cus that's where you're gonna find racial diversity, LGBT people, etc.
(This is also semi related to what Francis Lee talked about for God's Own Country; this false (and classist) idea that rural environments can't be progressive and only in urban areas can one find acceptance and happiness, which is incredibly untrue and unfair)
I wouldn't say Brassic changed my perception of British people, but if anything felt way more relatable because that was the sort of stuff I grew up watching, those were the sort of environments I grew up around. That sort of "yeah we're broke but we can still have a laugh".

The lovely smile
Jason is being frustrated by working on his day to day job. Don't have any interest in staying at this job. But you know the situation made you into a person that you aren't. His father grew older, wrinkles started to show on his face and nowadays can't even go for a morning walk. He used to be a primary teacher, when Jason was a child. Living his magical childhood. Don't have to work. Days were passing smoothly by playing video games all day long. But now he has family responsibilities, Have to work hard for everyday's bread.
Daydreaming got broken by an unexpected hand on his shoulder. His manager leaned down to the desktop and yelled “You haven't finished half of the product design." Apologies by saying “Sorry sir, I'll get this done by tomorrow." He said “Who said that? You aren't going before finishing your work." He interrupted, “But sir it's late at night, probably 12:30, I don't going to get a bus home, if I stay here a bit longer." Said “I don't want any of your excuses, do this work and go wherever you want to." The manager left, without listening to a word from him.
His mind is not working anymore. Everything is messing him up. He can't even type a word on his computer. If he stays here more than a minute, he could black out. The lights, the chairs, the laughter from the manager's room, everything doesn't seem normal. No, he can't take it any longer. Removed his spectacles, and rubbed his eyes constantly, that it went dark red. Grab the coat, laying beside, tiptoed not making a hair drop silent. People often say pindrop silence but I like to say hair drop silence. Peeked through the window to see his manager busy over a phone call. The right time to sneak out. Nobody ever gets a clue. Anyone could never know someone has left this place.
Waiting at the bus stop, lightening up a cigarette.he thought What he was and now what he became. Never wanted to be like this. Just wanted to lead a happy life. But now all has been messed up, it'll never go back like the older times. The people he loved left him. The people he thought never gonna hurt him, broke him into pieces. The empty gay road is quite. Neither a living being walking by nor can he see a motorcycle. Everyone was in a deep sleep but he was feeling nothing. The outside. The street. It Has fallen into darkness. But it's feeling like there's more darkness growing inside of him. That he can't get rid of those negative thoughts.
The bus came after waiting a long time. Probably the last bus for today. Came up and sat down in the last row corner. It isn't filled with people because it's probably midnight. Opened his notebook, where he usually wrote poetry. To become a poet is all he wants. But didnt even have the time to write. So he tries to write whenever he can get spare time. Like while having lunch, before bedtime, traveling. His concentration got broken, looking at a little girl who leaned towards his journal. Gave a smile to her, but she looked afraid of him. “What's your name, beautiful lady." She whispered “Laila'' He shouted “That's a great name, I shall use it in my writing." She whispered “Shhh! My mom is sleeping, don't wake her up or it's gonna be a big problem for us." “Oh okay! I understood, '' he whispered.
She asked, “Uncle, can I ask you something?" “Yeah! Sure." “I was a bit afraid to say this but." “Do you think I am like other rude adults? Who will scold you for asking me what I am doing in my notebook?" “How do you know what I am going to ask you?" He blushed a little and said “I read your eyes."
“So you're the first one who's interested in my work and I am really glad to hear that." She said with bright eyes filled with joy and Innocence “What is it? Tell me nah!"
“A poem, do you read poems?" “Yes! I read a ton of poems, ``Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'', ``Baa Baa black sheep'', ``Jack and jill." He asked “Which one is your favorite?" She said “Neither, they're all boring." He asked her, “Will you read what I wrote here?" She replied “I love to."
She took the notebook from him, read with full concentration and a tiny glimpse of joy in her eyes, she replied “I love them! But I didn't understand that much!" He answered “You enjoyed it! It's all that matters." She replied, “If the poems in my textbook are like this, I'm surely going to get full marks in my exams then."
He said “You're a beautiful girl! I hope you'll be a great person in future." “No, I don't want to be a good person!" “Why?" He asked.
“Because good people always get hurt in the end." He said “Never stop being a good one, because of the bad things that happen to you, you'll meet many people in your life, but at the end of the day, How kind you're to those people, Is all that matters."
Oh no! A problem occurred. Looks like her mother woke up. She yelled at her ``How many times I have to tell you, not to talk with strangers?" Give a look at him, thinking that he's a pedophile and he's been molesting her for a while. Before he could interrupt, his destination came up. And he has to get down from the bus. But before the departure, he looked at her for the last time, saw tears rolling down to her cheeks and he gave a small smile that indicates that they will meet again for sure.
You know, sometimes you meet a person. Who helps you realize who you really are. And I surely believe the person will come into your life and going to change the way we see the world. Magic happens in our life. We only have to recognize it. He ran upstairs and saw his wife waiting for him at the dinner table. She's probably mad at him, he thought. But in a low tone she asked “Do you know what time it is? I have been waiting for three hours, where have you been?" He said “I have made a decision in my life." She asked “No! please don't tell me, you got another idea for a startup again." He replied “This time, I will only do what I love to do!" She asked, “What is it?" He said “I really don't like my job, it feels like I am suffering!" She asked again “Yes! I understand that you wanna leave your job but then how are you going to earn money?" “I want to write poetries and publish a book of my poems someday." “How are you going to take your family responsibilities then?" He came closer to her, hugged and said “If you're beside me! I can do anything." She murmured into his ears “I am always going to stay beside you! Always!"

Don't Make This Mistake With Your Photography Website
Your website is more important than ever. It is likely the first place potential clients look when they want to evaluate your work and if you are a good fit for them. So, to increase the chances of landing the job, make sure you do not make this mistake.
Tumblr media
Nowadays, most people turn to the internet when they want to find a Seattle Model Photographer , which means that often, they will wind up on your website. And undoubtedly, if we do not pay someone to do it, we design our websites on desktop or laptop computers and likely test them in desktop browsers. But the majority of users are likely not using desktop browsers to view your site; rather, they are using mobile browsers on their phone or tablet.
Here at Fstoppers, we see hundreds of thousands of users and several million pageviews every month. And you might think that a photo site is likely viewed in all its glory on a large, color-calibrated monitor, and there is probably some truth to that. But in actuality, the majority of our traffic comes from phones and tablets (even before the pandemic).
And that makes sense, if you think about it. The web has become as much a place of consumption as it has a repository of information, and as such, most people browse on their choice device for media consumption: their smartphone or tablet. I know I certainly do the majority of my casual consumption and Reddit perusal on my phone, only opting for my computer when I need to do serious work or absolutely need the larger display.
That is why it is so crucial that your website has a good mobile design. You can follow all the tips out there about SEO optimization, putting forth your best portfolio, etc., but if your mobile design is unwelcoming, bloated, or simply a pain to use, you will probably lose clients before they even get to your photos.
Thankfully, nowadays, many dedicated website design tools and platforms automatically create a separate mobile version for your site that is optimized for phones and tablets. For example, I use Rapidweaver for my site, and with just a few clicks, I can easily generate a clean, easy-to-navigate mobile version.
What Makes a Good Mobile Site? While the job is generally easier nowadays, it is still worth talking about some of the aspects of a good mobile site.
1. The Home Page and Navigation Are Intuitive and Uncluttered Screen space is precious on a phone. Don't waste it on a large splash screen with a call to action like "click here." Put everything the user needs to know front and center where it is easily found immediately. Similarly, make it easy to navigate the site. Nothing is more frustrating than watching nested menus bleed off the right side of my screen as I click onto the fifth level without an end in sight. It should be quick and obvious to the user to get around your site.
2. Check Those Load Times Sure, you want users to see your images at their best quality. But mobile data connections are often not particularly fast, especially away from urban areas, and if users have to wait a long time just for your images to load, you are going to start losing them. Generally, keeping everything at or below 2,000 pixels on the long side is a good rule to follow. I also run all my website images through JPEGmini before uploading them. It is a fantastic app that normally shaves about 60% off the file size of a JPEG with no discernible loss of quality. That adds up to major data savings and faster loading times when you are dealing with an entire photography portfolio.
3. Nothing Unnecessary It can be tempting to add flashy visuals to your site or the like. In fact, with the ease of modern design tools, it is more tempting than ever. But don't lose sight of why visitors have come to your site: to view your photos. No one ever made a sale because they had a cute animation on their site. Keep things as straightforward as possible. Cleanliness and simplicity are the formula for an elegant site.
4. Make Sure Image Galleries Are Responsive
This is a really crucial item. Phones and tablets come in all different sizes, resolutions, and aspect ratios, and a layout that looks great on one device might be totally wrong on another. Responsive galleries automatically detect the device the site is being used on and readjust the galleries to fit the screen, ensuring that your portfolio looks professional no matter what device it is viewed on. Most modern templates and design tools employ responsive galleries, but be sure to check to be safe.
5. Link to Instagram Many people also look to Instagram to find a photographer or to see more of your work, so make it easy for them to find yours. As you can see on my mobile site, there is a small but visible icon at the bottom of the site menu. Of course, working in the other direction, don't forget to link to your site in your Instagram bio.
6. Keep Users in One Tab No doubt, if you have spend any amount of time browsing the web on your phone, you know that managing multiple tabs in an annoying affair at best. Avoid using links that open a new tab; keep everything in one tab so users don't become disoriented by a new window popping open.
7. Make It Easy to Contact You Don't forget to make it straightforward to contact you. Make it easy to find a contact form or information on your site. Remember that typing on a phone is not something anyone wants to do for a long time, so don't ask for an abundance of information; just make it easy to get in touch with you and provide basic relevant details.
Conclusion Having a good mobile website is more important than ever. Be sure to take time to ensure that yours is in top shape to ensure that potential customers have the best possible experience and are more likely to select you.

i really want to get into gaming (there are so many pretty games!) but I don't know where to start? or if there are games I can play on my computer or if i'd be better off getting an xbox or playstation or something. I am so clueless. what are some of your favorite games/ones you'd recommend? thanks!
Games are so so pretty these days! I don’t blame you for wanting to get into them a bit :) I often feel like, with the right video game, they are like playing a novel. This is a super loaded question, and I’ve no doubt gone into excessive detail here, so I’m putting it under a read more!
....
So, if you have a decent laptop or desktop computer you can download STEAM. Steam is a service that is basically the beginning and end of PC gaming these days- they have a ton of games available and most new games are released through steam these days. Think of Steam like Amazon Video for games- you can buy games and DLC through steam and download them on to your computer, and Steam also offers a gaming community (boards, friends, etc). Steam also often has really great sales! PC gaming does demand a fairly high end laptop or desktop in most cases though- you can often find PC requirements when browsing for games on any website.
Consoles are my preferred method of gaming, personally. (And this is a matter of much debate, but its not necessary to get into it right now). A console offers: a great processor, an external memory database, and sometimes console-exclusive games or offers. This isn’t as rampant as it was during the days of PS2/Xbox/Ps3/Xbox360; now you can buy almost any game on either Playstation or Xbox, but Nintendo has diverged from these and is almost a totally different beast nowadays.
Anyway- If you have a decent PC (8 Gig RAM+ 750 GB Hard Drive at least, is a good starting indication) Steam is a great way to access new and old games and play them on a convenient platform. If you don’t have a decent laptop, a console might be a better, cheaper option for you. I’m a big Playstation fan, probably because I’ve had one since I was in elementary school. Consoles make it easy to just pick up a game, install it, and go forward- no worrying about memory space or computer capabilities, etc. They are an investment- a gaming console doesn’t do anything besides play video games!!! So if you buy one, be ready to use it!
NOW as for the part you probably wanted to hear- which games do I really like?
+Journey- this game is essentially an aesthetic dream. Very cheap, very short. Its maybe a decent into to gaming mechanism, get you used to moving and following objectives. Its also SUPER SUPER pretty with a background plot that’s also gorgeous
+ The Dragon Age series: Dragon Age Inquisition, the most recent in the series, is on ps4. The series might be a bit confusing, at first, to get into without playing the 2 preceeding games, but I think the gameplay is easy and the graphics are gorgeous- the plot is also lots of drama/fun- I really love all the game in this series. This is a traditional RPG series and very easy to play.
+Dishonored- this series has 2 installations- both are fairly recent and have great graphics/gameplay. This game is assassination style- you’ll mostly be trying to sneak/magic your way through areas in order to advance a plot line. Slightly more challenging, but still a ton of fun with great worldbuilding.
+The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt- Although this is the 3rd game in the series, I hadn’t played any of the prequels and still understood the relationships and worldbuilding pretty well. GORGEOUS, humorous, a great plot, with really endearing characters. (Also has a game mode for gaming newbies that focuses more on plot than battling difficulties)
Other games that you can easily google, which are also fairly recent and available on PC and consoles:
- Skyrim
-Overwatch (a first-person fighting game with teams, but has so far been pretty fun IMO)
-Mass Effect (by the same people who do Dragon Age, only its SCI FI. Romances, guns, planets, aliens, alien romances, etc.)
- Final Fantasy X- the FF series is iconic, and this one is not the most recent but FFX was recent rereleased with HD graphics and the plot has always always given me massive FEELINGS despite some weird voice acting. Great gameplay, battling, plot, and cutscenes
-FFXV- i haven’t played this but I’ve heard super great things about it!

How do I find anything on mobile? Like the masterwork page for comics specifically? I don't know if this is the faq so sorry if it is
Most comics nowadays have a link to the masterposts in their descriptions, though some of the older ones (like Hungertale) don’t.
As for finding them on mobile all I know about mobile is that mobile if often a mess @v@ I personally only ever use desktop so I couldn’t really say!
http://sonocomics.tumblr.com/masterposts
Above is a link that has links to ALL my masterposts, so that’s the best I can think of - however I’m unsure how mobile is with these types of links (my masterpost page is a page, not a post, and I think I’ve heard mobile doesn’t really like pages OTL)
I hope this helps ;v;
EDIT: milkchocobo mentioned something useful!
“I've noticed lately links to my own content (like for a specific tag) will either just take me to the main blog (disregarding the tag) or say "this doesnt exist!" in mobile. It's only reliable to actually click on the tag to see more of a specific thing for a particular blog. I reeeeeally hope Tumblr works on that.“

Breakthrough & Insights on Upwork Success - Ready to Use Tips!
Ready to take your business to the next level? In this article, you’ll find ideas to help you achieve greater success on Upwork. In this article we will try to find out in detail how client approach this well-known platform to get the work done and hiring long term freelancers to work with. Basically all these portals (Elance, Upwork, Freelancer, Guru) are meant for individual freelancers who want to work from home instead of 9-5 full time job. However, nowadays many IT companies are also using these portals in order to get some good work and establish a long term relationship with clients. It is comparatively easy to get in touch with clients here and also secure the business process and transaction through portals, as they take responsibility of the payment of work you have done for clients. Upwork in the market leader, most famous and well-known among all. At the end of this blog here is what you will learn: - Type of clients on Upwork - Submitting a Winning Proposal - Before taking on a new project - Deliver a successful project - Consistent work of high quality - Reputation is everything A] Type of clients/Jobs on Upwork Fixed price - Fixed priced jobs are just like they sound. They are jobs with a set scope that is arranged at a fixed price. Early on, I recommend that most freelancers start at fixed priced jobs. You have the freedom to work as many or as few hours as needed on these projects in order to get them done. Hourly Projects - For hourly projects, Upwork has an application that you install on your desktop. This application takes random screenshots of your computer every 5-10 minutes and uploads them to a work diary. With hourly work, Upwork guarantees that as longs as you are logged in, using their app and on task, then you will get paid for that time no matter what. Each of these portals have their own terms, rules and guidelines, but the basic motive is the same, which is to provide a common platform to freelancers and employers to come together and get the work done in competitive and cost effective manner. Employers post a job and expect replies from freelancers from worldwide in term of bids. And that what we do, bid on different job posts/projects. So, when we bid for any type of project we have to understand few points like what kind of job/work is required, what are technical capabilities needed for that job, or in that case if we can do that job or not. Let\'s discuss the type of job posts and what should be our approach toward that job while placing a bid on the same. If client wants to develop a complete new website or application: In this kind of jobs, client wants to build/develop a fresh, completely new website/application for his business or for his customer/client. Generally in this kind of job posts you may find a detailed description by client (if he is a technical person and knows technology well) or a very short idea about his/her envisioned project. In both cases we have to understand that we must showcase our capabilities to client in detail. This means, in your bid you have to talk about your company, your vision, passion and mission. Then come technology competency area, where you will talk about the different technologies you are expert in and emphasize on the technology that client has mentioned in job post. Now the important part comes i.e. show samples of your past & relevant work that you have designed and developed. Here, you have a very good chance to impress the client by your portfolio. And now at the end you can request to connect on-line(Skype) to discuss the project in detail to shre the same level of understanding. This approach may help you to gain attention of your potential client. If client wants some changes in existing website/software/code: In this case, most of the time client has already finished major coding/development part. And for some reason he is seeking someone to correct/modify that work according to his revised requirements or expectations in short period of time. This may also have some very minor, cosmetic changes or add some extra functionality or enhance the performance of existing code. To bid on these kinds of jobs, you will remember that the scope and budget is very low in most of the cases. But still we will go for it because if that client likes our ability to work on existing code, it might results into more business for us. Interpret the already developed code and logic behind it, and work on it to enhance the performance, is not an easy task. So if you can do it, then you (your company) will be called good software professional. To approach these kinds of jobs, you have to maintain the balance between technology and past work in your bid. Here, talk more about the technology experience you have and done similar kind of jobs in past. You can cut short the list of your past work samples. By talking more on technology, you will give confidence to the client that you understand the job well and can work on it in short time frame. If client wants to design independent, customise web/desktop application: Such kind of scenarios comes across rarely. This includes CRM, ERP applications, and customer management tools for business/personal purpose, custom software for specific purpose or for a specific user group etc. These types of job posts need to be read carefully and understand what exactly the client looking to develop. Such job post needs a detailed technical approach. Take some time to describe your technology experience and expertise in detail, by doing this you will assure client that you are capable and eligible enough to handle complex tasks as database design, custom software coding and develop functionalities according to client/user requirements. In you bid you will talk about your company performance, consistency in work, ability to handle big projects and then you will describe technology expertise. If client has suggested any technology, you will consult your development team and cross check if that technology is best fit for that project or not. And if not, come up with suggestions or ideas and convey the same to client. B] Submitting a Winning Proposal Your proposal is often your first interaction with a potential client. It’s your opportunity to introduce yourself, highlight your expertise, and show the client why you’re the best candidate for the contract. Take the time to craft and explain how you would complete their project based on what you know from the work they described. Give the client a little extra by sharing your unique approach on tackling and completing this contract. Make sure you answer any screening questions the client asks in their Work Description. Let the client know your availability for an interview and that you’d like to discuss the project further. Interviewing with the client lets you further establish the trust and rapport you both need to get great results on a project. Keep all payments for your projects on the Upwork platform, so you’re sure to get paid for your great work. That’s it! If the client feels your core skills and work history match their needs, they’ll contact you and start an engagement. If not, learn from the experience. Think about your proposal and your interview, and how to improve. Then try again until you find the perfect project for you. C] Before taking on a new project Be selective and focus on the projects you can perform well—and get done on time. Here are few more tips to help you land new projects. - Make sure you understand the scope of project and skills required to accomplish it - Understand the deadlines and ensure you have the time to complete the project - Demonstrate your profile, proposal, skills and show the client why you’re the best fit - Be realistic about your availability and time, only take work that you can deliver D] Deliver a successful project Communication, respect, and responsiveness are necessary to form a successful working relationship with client, and that a long term too. Here are few points to be noted in order to deliver your work and exceed the client expectations: - Be proactive. Communicate with client often and let them know you’re on track to complete their project even if they don\'t ask - Always keep project deadline in your mind and in case if you won’t be able to meet, let them know immediately in advance and make sure to do necessary arrangements - If you have a question, don’t be afraid to reach out to the client. It’s important to ask questions whenever needed - Ask for work feedback time to time, talk to them on feedback in order to improve your craft eventually - Be sure the client is happy E] Consistent work of high quality This is somewhat of a challenge for new freelancers, however, is that you must be able to maintain consistent working quality across all of your jaws and with all of your various clients. Not taking this seriously and beginning to get sloppy with your work can be extremely detrimental to your success as a freelancer. You must be able to grow your business by showing that you are always committed to high quality and always give professional communication and work to your clients. You need to be able to demonstrate that you are a true professional who always delivers for each and every client. F] Reputation is everything In the business world, and on Upwork, your past work experience speaks volumes to future clients. The Job Success score is a measure of your reputation on Upwork. A freelancer’s history of success impacts their ranking in search in the marketplace and may be considered by clients who are deciding whether to engage them. Numbers don't lie—it's an ideal opportunity to manufacture your own particular switch With more speed accessible and equipment that can't adjust, DIY fabricates offer pinnacle performance.
I've seen a pattern of late. As opposed to supplanting a switch when it actually quits working, I've expected to act before—swapping in new rigging on the grounds that an old switch could no longer stay aware of expanding Internet speeds accessible in the territory. (Note, I am properly grateful for this issue.) As the most recent case, an entire cluster of Netgear ProSafe 318G switches fizzled me for the last time as independent ventures have overhauled from 1.5-9mbps conventional T1 associations with 50mbps persuade (link).
Yes, urge—not fiber. Indeed, even persuade has demonstrated excessively for the old ProSafe arrangement. These gadgets didn't simply neglect to keep up, they failed on their appearances. As often as possible, the old switches dropped speed test comes about because of 9mbps with the old association with 3mbps or less with the 50mbps association. Clearly, that doesn't fly.
Nowadays, the appropriate response progressively is by all accounts remote switches. These have a tendency to be long on smooth looking plastic and splendidly hued Web interfaces however short on specialized components and dependability. What's a hired fighter sysadmin to do? All things considered, at its center, anything with two physical system interfaces can be a switch. What's more, today, there are parts and loads of generally quick, cheap, and (super imperative!) completely strong state nonexclusive boxes out there.
Along these lines, the time had at long last come. Confronted with maturing equipment and new purchaser offerings that didn't address my issues, I chose to fabricate my own switch. Also, if today's transforming network scene abandons you in a comparative position, surprisingly both the building and the manufacture are very quick.
Why do it the most difficult way possible
A great deal of you are likely murmuring, "right, pfSense, beyond any doubt." Some of you may even be considering smoothwall or unwind NG. I played with the greater part of the firewall distros out there, however I chose to go more essential, more old school: a plain, CLI-just introduce of Ubuntu Server and a couple iptables rules.
As a matter of fact, this presumable isn't the most handy approach for each peruser, however it seemed well and good for me. I have a considerable amount of experience finessing iptables and the Linux bit itself for high throughput at Internet scale, and the less sparkling elements and illustrations and clicky things that are put amongst me and the firewall table, the less lighten I need to escape the way and the less new not-pertinent in whatever is left of my-work things I need to learn. Any administer I definitely know how to make in iptables to oversee access to my servers, I additionally know how to apply to my firewall—if my firewall's running an indistinguishable distro from my servers are. Also, I work pretty vigorously with OpenVPN, and I need to have the capacity to keep setting up both its servers and customers in the way I as of now depend on. Some firewall distros have OpenVPN bolster worked in and some don't, however even the ones with constructed ins have a tendency to anticipate that things will run uniquely in contrast to I do. Once more, the more the framework remains out of my way, the more joyful I'll be.
As an extra reward, I realize that I can without much of a stretch stay up with the latest on my new and totally vanilla Ubuntu switch. It's altogether upheld specifically by Canonical, and it can (and does) all have programmed refreshes turned on. Add the intermittent cron occupation to reboot the switch (to get new pieces), and I'm brilliant.
Equipment, equipment, equipment
We'll experience the how-to in a future piece, yet today it's essential to set up why a DIY switch assemble might be the best alternative. To do that, you initially need to see today's broad scene.
In the shopper world, switches for the most part have itty-bitty little MIPS CPUs in the engine without a ton of RAM (to understate the obvious). These switches to a great extent separate themselves from each other in light of the interface: How sparkling is it? What number of specialized elements does it have? Could clients make sense of it effectively?
At the higher end of the SOHO showcase, you begin seeing some cell phone review ARM CPUs and significantly more RAM. These switches—like the Nightgear Nighthawk arrangement, one of which we'll be pounding on later—include numerous centers, higher clock speeds, and a ton more RAM. They additionally include considerably higher sticker prices than the less expensive rivalry. I got a Linksys EA2750 for $89, however the Netgear Nighthawk X6 I got with it was almost three times more costly (even on vacation deal!) at $249.Still, I needed to go an alternate course. A ton of fascinating and sensibly economical little x86-64 fanless machines have begun appearing available of late. The trap for building a switch is discovering one with different NICs. You can discover two or three genuinely sure things on Amazon, yet they're more established Atom-based processors, and I needed a more up to date Celeron. After some great out-dated Internet scouring and dithering, at long last I took the Alibaba dive and requested myself another Partaker Mini PC from Shenzhen Inctel Technology Company. After $240 for the switch itself and another $48 for a 120GB Kingston SSD from Newegg, I'd spent about $40 more on the Homebrew Special than I had on the Nighthawk. Would it be justified, despite all the trouble?
A challenger shows up
Before we kick testing off, how about we investigate the competitors. That Nighthawk is, by correlation with the others, HUGE and forcing (considerably more so than the photo makes it show up). It's quite bigger than my Homebrew Special, which is a completely utilitarian, broadly useful PC you could use as an impeccably skillful desktop. It resembles DC Comics asked H.R. Giger to help outlining a remote switch for Batman.
The Homebrew Special itself is kinda charming. It has one blue and one red LED inside the case, and around evening time, the light from both spills out of its cooling vents in a roundabout way, giving the system stack a happy gathering look. On the off chance that there were any fans to bring about a glimmering it would make me crazy, yet since it's a consistent state delicate shine, I really like it.The Linksys and the Buffalo, then again, look like precisely what they are—shoddy switches. Notwithstanding, it's important the styling on the Linksys is a major change over the brand's past. It looks more like something expert and less like a youngsters' toy. (Be that as it may, enough about the styling—it's a great opportunity to put these poor switches through the gauntlet.)
The undeniable first test is a straightforward transfer speed test. You put one PC on the LAN side and one PC on the WAN side, and you run a clever little instrument called iperf through the center. Straightforward, right?Well, that would make for a short, exhausting article. The system itself measures gigabit, the three gigabit switches measure gigabit, and the 100 megabit switch measures 100 megabit.
In reality, a test this straightforward doesn't start to recount the story. The main motivation to do it might be to show how trivial it is. Switch makers are winding up noticeably more mindful that individuals really test their item, and no producer needs its item to be anyplace however the highest point of something like smallnetbuilder's switch graph. In light, makers are effectively pursuing details nowadays.
The issue is, details are simply details. Having the capacity to hit a high number on an unadulterated throughput test is superior to nothing, yet it's a long ways from the entire story. I discovered that lesson the most difficult way possible while working for a T-1 merchant in the mid 2000s. Their to a great degree costly Adtran modems could deal with 50 to 100 individuals' ordinary Internet utilization fine and dandy, however a solitary client running Limewire or some other P2P customer would bring the entire thing down instant. (The settle in those days: put an economical yet wonderful $150 Netopia switch before that costly Adtran modem. Issue tackled.)
Notwithstanding for generally straightforward directing—no profound bundle assessment, no gushing malware filtering or interruption location, no molding—the CPU and the RAM accessible to the switch are both imperative well beyond the capacity to immerse the Internet connect. Shared filesharing is about the most fierce action a system will see, nowadays (regardless of whether it's bittorrent, one of the Gnutella or eDonkey variations, or an amusement organization's distributed download framework). I was done playing WoW when Blizzard's P2P dissemination framework was presented, however my flat mate at the time wasn't. On its dispatch day, the new WoW peer download framework unhelpfully defaulted to no throttling at all. It happily attempted to discover and keep up associations with truly a huge number of customers at the same time, and my home system went down like Gilbert Godfried getting handled by Terry Tate. My flat mate and I had words.
In light of such past experience, I would prefer just not to insignificantly "test" my challengers and throw in the towel, I need to truly make them sweat. So to do that, will hit them with workloads that anxiety three issue territories: soaking the system connection, making and breaking singular TCP/IP associations truly rapidly, and holding huge quantities of individual TCP/IP associations open at the same Time.i have a botnet in my pocket, and I'm prepared to shake it
I quickly considered setting up some sort of ghastly, Docker-fueled giant with a huge number of Linux holders with individual IP addresses, all clamoring for associations and additionally serving up pages. At that point I woke up. To the extent the switches are worried, there's no distinction between keeping up associations with a huge number of individual IP locations or just to a huge number of ports on a similar IP address. I invested a tiny bit of energy transforming Lee Hutchinson's most loved webserver nginx into an absurd Lovecraftian beast with 10,000 heads and a hunger for demolition.
For every switch, I utilized ApacheBench to test downloading a jpeg with three diverse record sizes (10K, 100K, and 1M) at four distinctive simultaneousness levels (10, 100, 1,000, and 10,000 synchronous customers). This gives us 12 tests altogether, not including our underlying iperf test, and it merits seeing them all as a sort.
