*shuffles out of bedroom with walker* Can I tell you kids about what it was like back in the day here, 10 years ago, on Tumblr in the Phantasy Star fandom? Again?
90% of posts were wordpress links about PSO2. I’m not kidding, that’s what the majority of the Phantasy Star tag was. There was also a few blogs doing posting for the original games, but when it came to PSO1, there was nothing, which is why I created this blog.
I created this blog with limited gif making experience, and the majority of this blog’s earlier postings was fanart I’d find online with the source provided. I created this blog for pretty selfish reasons because...I wanted to make an assload of PSO content for my main blog. Instead, this blog became the main blog. After I created this blog, a few other Phantasy Star related blogs popped up. Sadly, those blogs are no longer around to my knowledge.
Anyway I stopped posting fanart because I’d get upset when my GIFs got reposted on here. Ik there’s a difference but after that I just felt disrespectful reposting art.
Fast forward to current *wipes happy tears*
I see MANY Phantasy Star URLs!!!! THERE’S POSTING IN THE TAGS. THERE’S SOME OF US STREAMING IT AND OTHERS WATCHING AND OTHERS JOINING. THERES. ARTISTS. HERE!!!!!
It feels like. A wholeass community popped up. And its just so beautiful. And the most exciting part is seeing everyone else’s contribution. Looking through my archive, my feed looks identical to what it did 7+ years ago, and I have you guys to tank for that. Remember for the past 2 years I’ve mostly just been making GIFs and now will share magic based on Phantasy Star. (ADHD has been everywhere see tags lol)

And while we’re here talking about what Phantasy Star was like 10 years ago on here, I’d like to share 2 things I did in the past;
Phantasy Star Problems looking at the last 4 posts here, I’m assuming I lost an image file after a windows install and didn’t feel like going through everything immediately to go back to it, so just dropped it. Or I saved over the beginning draft file and was pissed and didn’t feel like making it up again.

I am awfully curious!! When you do your big, packed art pieces with all the Narrys or bears, what is your usual canvas size?? Nothing is blurry at all and everything is super identifiable, so I am so curious!!

Okay so the final undertale piece is 3857 x 2750 px
Mega gala drawing was 3623 x 2558 px
It’s a bit hard to explain because I only colour digitally, I do sketch and lineart on paper
So the process is basically: sketch > lineart > scan > digital colour
The size of the canvas always depends on the size of the scan
And traditional artist chatter:
For mega drawings I usually choose format A3 (297 x 420 millimetres / 11.69 x 16.54 inches)
For scanning I just take the foto of the thing and get the brightness all the way up

Since I'm not an artist, I'm going to do a writing version of Paratober.
1 Stanley
He walked a thousand miles through these halls, echoes of footsteps etched into his brain. Every twist and turn was just another well-worn path. Fear had turned to boredom, hope faded to complacency. Still what could he do but keep going? The end was never the end.
2 Bucket
Stanley plopped the bucket on his head. [I am Bucket Man.]
The Narrator sighed and ran a hand through his hair. Not this again. "Stanley that is a expertly crafted narrative prop, not something to shove on your immature noggin!"
[Bucket Man sees his arch-nemesis Captain Party Pooper! It’s Bucket Time!]
"Hey that's my line!" The Narrator yelled.
He watched in horror as Stanley bent down like a bull and kicked each foot. Oh no. The Narrator held his hands up.
"Stanley! Please. Not ag-"
His words were cut off by Stanley barreling the bucket into his side. The Narrator let out a huff of air and fell back.
3. Coward
Stanley hid under his desk. It was safe here. No one would ever get him… But that wasn't true, was it. The Narrator's words would end and the story would restart. *Please make it end. Please make it end please make it end.*
He imagined it did once the darkness of the reset took him. The floating void was the darkness behind his own eyes and once he opened them, Stanley would be in a nice warm bed, staring at the stucco of a blank white ceiling.
He'd turn his head to a window. A tree stood tall and proud bearing apples, or maybe oranges. A squirrel made corkscrews around it's trunk. Stanley yawned and-
Stared at the blinking screen of his office monitor. The Narrator's voice droned on in the background. He took a deep breath and pushed back the fantasy. It was time to play his part.

The Narrator is from my fic Home Has Always Been You.
Narry stared at his reflection. The new haircut and the new clothes almost made him feel like himself. But not quite. His body was still frail and skinny, with a face aged beyond its years.
What did Stanley see in him? He wasn't the sweet chubby boy he'd been when they were kids. Nor was he some suave model with chiseled features and effortless muscles.
Maybe he didn't need to be either. Stanley loved him, not his image in the mirror.
3. Puppyboy Stanley
"Bark!"
The Narrator stared at the lab at his feet. "Just how did you turn yourself into a dog, Stanley? The bark command was only supposed to affect your voice!"
Stanley proceeded to run around and tear up random papers. He tried to dig up the carpet, eat 432's pencil sharpener, and the Narrator’s favorite yellow slipper.
"No! Stanley, give it back!"
He yanked at it, which just made Stanley pull harder. Soon, they were in a dire game of tug-of-war, the fate of the Narrator’s footwear hanging in the balance.
Halfway through, Stanley turned human and spat the item of contention out. He got up and dusted himself off as if nothing happened.
"What? That's it? You aren't going to apologize for destroying my office or ravaging my slipper?"
Stanley shrugged and walked off, leaving the Narrator to sigh and wipe the slipper off with the sleeve of his jacket.

I would like to make a "Narrator daycare" for some of the Narry's. I am aware some of you artist have your hands full so I am planing on making a serie with my OC Bull running it~
She's a very motherly soul and would love to care for your Narrator~

But please how brilliant was Louis as a judge! And how brilliant is Niall as a coach!
All I am asking for is an independent music competition show with five coaches and have them compete in creating a band. Have individual artists come who then will be put in bands together. Have them all be showered with love and compliments. No nasty tv drama just pure love for music and artists while they share their wisdom. Have Louis create rock bands, Liam incorporate some sick dance choreographies, Zayn being the vocal god he is and Narry making us all fall in love with them and everyone around while they keep falling off their chairs giggling. I want Lilo fights over artists and them then choosing Zayn, I want everyone listening to Harry while he talks using his hands, I want them all crammed on a couch for interviews in between for no reason at all, I want all the uncensored language, I want impromptu songs, I want silliness that makes us at home fall off our couches giggling. I want, I want, I want, but that's crazy. I know but I don't care. I don't care if they are 80 when they do that but it would be brilliant.

Your last Anon about larries being invasive. I'm just going to say this once and I hope someone gets it.
Larry is a consequence of people believing H&L have been closeted since the minute they were put into the band. We associate Larry because of the way they interacted and because of all the weirdness surrounding it despite there being 100s of other ships. Zarries, narries, Lilo, whoever it is. Larry was the only one who is treated like this conspiracy. That's not my point tho. Regardless of Larry, the basic point is: H&L are closeted.
Sure we can stop speculating about Larry. Maybe all of us would live in a better world if we all just listened to music and went on with our lives and ignored the fact that in 2022, Louis is pointing to Larry signs and Harry's promo for his album somehow is vastly dependent on larries.
But to move on with our lives and be respectful is also asking us to ignore genuine queer coding that's being signalled from both of them. I literally can never agree that Harry and Louis aren't queer coding. It's one thing to maybe allude to larries but I don't get how a majority of the people who don't believe in Larry don't understand that it doesn't mean Louis and Harry aren't closeted.
Larry does not equal to their sexuality. I can't say that enough.
So when Louis is colorizing pride flags, is signalling with genuine queer coding that a lot of queer people recognize because you know they've done that themselves, when Harry is so blatantly referencing George Michael. You're asking us to ignore genuine signalling. And sure maybe we get some of the signs wrong and read too much into it but I can't stress enough how queer coding is saying "I'm queer but I can't say it out loud and this is my only way of showing you who I am". You're asking us to ignore that. If they are closeted, can you imagine how isolating and lonely it is to not have the world know who you really are? If they really wanted to stay in the closet and just stay there without ever coming out or telling people about their sexuality, they wouldn't be signalling.
That's like me going to a doctor saying my heart hearts and it feels like a heart attack but I don't want them to operate on me.
People believe in Larry for numerous reasons. That line of where we're being supportive and where we're being invasive is so non existent because we don't know. Louis says speculation is making him uncomfortable and then continues to do shady shit that literally requires speculation to figure out.
Being an anti while may give you a clear subconscious thinking you're doing what the artists want you to do. But being a Larry, for the most part, we're here because we want them to feel seen, to feel heard. If you truly wanted to educate yourself, just looking at Louis and seeing his intimate knowledge of queer culture and everything he's done over the last 12 years that constantly contradicts what he's saying in interviews, I wish people truly understood what they were talking about and seeing where we're coming from before jumping on the "larries are disrespectful and crazy" train.
This is my point about not knowing where to draw the line. I cannot get behind the idea that Harry and Louis aren’t referencing Larry and their respective closets. Some of it I believe is self-expression/queer-expression and not meant for fans at all. But a lot of it (Louis’ behavior on tour, Harry’s promo, the IGTV videos) is meant for fan consumption. If it wasn’t real and/or they didn’t want the speculation, I don’t understand why they’re acting the way they are.

Harry needs to grow up and realise that if he wants any sort of “privacy” he can still admit with his mouth Olivia is who he is dating. That’s all he has to say. I think it’s stupid at this point for them both but especially Harry to keep themselves from saying they are dating. Don’t care how they started or when they started dating but it’s clearly been a year of their relationship now so they need to just be out with it and done. It looks stupid on their behalf to not say the simple words to confirm it. They can just say “oh yeah I’m happy in my relationship but we both don’t want to share intimate parts of our relationship and I hope people respect that”. That is all. Don’t care how much we know about them or see them, just man up and break your fans hearts and admit you definitely like women and are dating one. If he is at all attracted to both men and women he shouldn’t be afraid to show attraction to women in fear no one will believe he likes men. It come across a tad biphobic that he jokes about men and wears weird shirts about male sex yet won’t say he likes men out right and only alluded to it in odd and weird ways like shorts or ambiguous lyrics on a song he won’t release, however he did confirm the lyrics are “I mess around with them” so?. He says he likes women but he doesn’t confirms he is dating them apart from Camille and that was after he broke up. Idk it pisses me off and i I get why a lot of fans/gay people that aren’t fans of his get annoyed by his lack to explanation about who he dates. No one cares who he likes but he needs to man up and be the same and not care about peoples opinions of who he dates. Ik his fan but I understand and am woke that he isn’t perfect and am not up his ass. I don’t go by labels but I explain why to people, Harry just shrugs and acts like people shouldn’t care when he hints to multi gender attraction and it helps his image and honestly it hurts to see. Hope this makes sense. //
Wow this is brilliantly put together. I wanted to say something like this for a long time but didn't know how to say it. Either he should just say what he is instead of all these stupid hide & seek games with sexuality. Nobody is gonna bat an eye if he's gonna date a man in this time and age, when majority of his fans want him to gay or bi so bad. Plus coming out for a white privileged male is easy & would get lots of attention and praise.
So if he says he wants to be unlabelled but then only dates women while doing every sort of tricks or stuff to make people believe he's gay or bi, then again never really confirms dating men gives the impression that he's a STRAIGHT person. (I know its wrong & weird to say this but this is what I feel).
I feel like he's straight and has so far benefited so much from the Queer image that Larry, Zarry, Narry, Xarry,Gryles & Hitch has given him. So he would always be unlabelled to benefit from all sides.
You can see how for every album promo Harry, HSHQ & Columbia baits Larries for promotion. Larries still form a big part of the 1D fandom so it's huge business.
After all these years watching him I think he's the straightest member of One direction.
So as a straight white male Harry's actions are taking away respect and attention from many POC or white queer artists.

it tells us to seek shelter, my obianidala everybody lives au bc i went into a huge deep dive of motherhood, and padme's legacy....... it's probably the fic that made me think most deeply about a character!

hmm probably if it matters, and if you notice. i adored working w the artist on this for the check please big bang, but as much as i love ocean's 11 and heists, i am just really terrible at writing action scenes. i tried to skip past the action scenes in this fic and just do what i was good at but it doesn't capture the same pizzazz as the movies. oh well!

9. A time when writing was really, really hard:
after i finished the first draft of i had no map when i started and now here i am (somewhere real called loving you) i had a full on crisis bc i panicked i a) wasn't portraying the boys accurately, and b) didn't give their relationships with one another and all the complications that would come with a reunion the justice that it deserved. almost completely chickened out and threw out the whole thing lol
10. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:
again, in it tells us to seek shelter i wasn't intending to write about padme & leia at all, but as soon as i started thinking about padme and who she would be if she survived mustafar, there wasn't anyway i couldn't not write about the anxieties she'd have for her children, and how that could strain her relationship with them.
11. A favorite excerpt of your writing:
From even in jest, or as an afterthought:
She stands up and shoulders him out of the way, clanging a pan onto the stove and flinging open the fridge so hard it slams against its own hinges. She’s mad at herself for bringing it up, for ruining a nice morning by saying it out loud, and she’s mad that she’s mad, and guilty, and all mixed up.
“Hey.” He touches her shoulder lightly, and it makes her furious.
“What,” she snaps, swinging around. She’s holding a carton of eggs in one hand, and her movement slams it directly into his chest. There’s an audible crack, which ruins their plans of omelettes for breakfast.
He looks at her searchingly. Takes the broken eggs from her hands, tosses them in the bin. Sticks two slices of bread into the toaster.
“I don’t hate you anymore,” he says, eyes still glued firmly on the toaster. She feels the fight leave her. They stand in silence until the toast pops up.
“And anyway,” Jaskier says, plating the toast, and pulling out the spreads from the pantry. “He’s not here.”
There isn’t anything Yennefer can say to that.
12. How did you grow as a writer this year:
forced myself to write humour, and do a proper examination of the interactions between friends. it's surprisingly difficult to distill the weird-ass conversations you have with close friends into something that's enjoyable for someone else to read lmao.
13. How do you hope to grow next year:
hmmm! hopefully i'll be able to write something longer!
14. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc):

@usetheforce everytime i wrote a particularly angstly obi-wan scene i'd think first, "i am the only person who'd want to read this", and then "actually, nope, denims will want to read this". thank u for ur comments <3 <3 <3
fandom giants spqr, and jibrailis (on ao3), who all taught me about writing humour, character introspections, and the joys of writing a specific industry/profession in a way that's knowledgeable and exciting but not alienating.
15. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year:
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO don't need the city (don't need proof). yeah. on a lighter note, the hospital scene in twist a little closer now really did happen to me lol. and of course, all i can remember is, which is inspired by a real tradition in a friend's hometown.
16. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers:
uh. don't write linearly? whenever i felt like i was getting blocked on one scene i would just hit enter a bunch of times and start another scene. you can always rearrange/edit/cut scenes later, but your confidence always just shoots up when there are actual words on the page.
17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year:
got a narry fic currently going thru editing phase, and some jotted down notes for another one that i might finish at some point. plus the beginnings of a lilo fic where they run a local government campaign ..... unsure where it's gonna go though. i guess we'll see!

I am on verse of being a larrie, but what do you think is the main reason the whole Larry "ship" was and is big thing and media focused rather than any ship? (From 1D days)Larries are always targeted to go extinct but no other shippers,which would have same impact just with another person rather than louis or harry in it.
Well hello there sweet anon, this is going to be a rant. Sorry for the bad English, it's late.
I mean, the reason I think this "ship" is so big, is because it isn't a ship. If Larry was any other ordinary ship, it would have been passed off like Zouis. I don't know any other ship that's so popular, except maybe Phan. Like Elton John would say "If a rumour doesn't go away, it isn't a rumour." And I think that is very true. It was never, maybe in the very beginning, just a "ship". The rumour of them actually being together is what made it big. How there two and many more artists who are closeted and in a relationship. If they were just a ship, people would have lost interest and just shipped it like any other ship. Like there aren't many people who actually believe Narry is real, right?
Next point, social media. Through Twitter and every other platform. The fact we have 90 minute Larry stylinson compilations on youtube is telling enough. In the 80's you couldn't have watched every interview thirty times and make an analysis on their body language. People didn't know where a artist was most of the time, but with update accounts you can. Of course they can disappear from the face of the earth, but people can spot you and post it online, cough cough Louis in Mexico. Also through social media the news spreads fast. There isn't one dedicated directioner who doesn't know about Larry, because of the internet.
Before we move on, their PR strategy. The label wants money. Their management has to help their label to make money. How do you market the boys? They wanted to sell to mainly young straight women, so these women needed to want them. A band with at least two, the other three are also a little fruity, gay boys won't do. You would probably market them as a band with straight white young boys. The fact they white-washed Zayn says a lot. If two boys were gay, they would be less desirable, so less money.
Now how would they shut down these rumours? Use all of the above, shipping, social media and pr strategy. If you let the world know: "It's just a ship, these young naive girls have made all of this up and are crazy. They ruined their friendship, which was just an innocent bromance. Harry is a womanizer and Louis is a perfect boyfriend turned aggressive partyboy. Spread the word people, larries are the enemy, larries are crazy, larries are delirious." Now the larries become their own separate part of the fandom. The one who are supposed to be hated. If you cover it in the tabloids and all over social media, larries become a entity.
Lasty anon, the media covers what their pr-team wants to be covered. If the pr-team want Harry to seem like a Womanizer, the press publishes a random bs article about Harry kissing some girl. They manage their image and their story. If their team decides larries are the enemy, larries become the enemy.
The thing is, larries are here, because of all of this. The closesting, the hatred, the wrong image of the boys and the wrong information in the press. I joined the fandom, because I found it very fishy people gave so much attention to it. It was weird and I never seen it before. Their plan didn't work, cause people are curious and like digging. We aren't just some naive teenagers, I am, but that doesn't matter.

listen sis, i agree with you; n’s first single was a flop and since then his career has not improved. he is going on an arena tour but no shows have sold out, his team have literally set him up to fail, he’s so desperate for people to buy that he constantly begs people to buy tickets and stream his singles -it’s quite sad really
No. This is not what we’re doing. I am not here to drag an artist through the dirt just because I don’t like them. Not as long as they’re a decent person. I may not like him, and I may think he’s a liar, but Niall Horan is not a bad person and I’m not going to sit here and hate on him the way people hate on the boys that I love like Liam and 5SOS. I dealt with enough of that toxic ass shit from Larries, Louies and Harries when I was in the narry fandom, which I hated then, and that shit gets a no from me.
Niall may sit there and encourage people to stream his songs and come to his shows, but at least he actually interacts with his fans. It’s actually the one thing I miss about him, is that he’s so invested in his relationship with his fanbase, because people acting like this is what drove the people that I stan off of social media entirely so I don’t get that level of interaction anymore from people I adore.
Take that crap to a hate blog run by someone with nothing to do with their lives except be a miserable person like ot3d. You sound like a harrie anyways, with how absolutely ugly that attitude is.

Can anyone record entire sirius interview? Even just audio. I am not from us & not able to listen. Btw, I just unfollowed some popular narry blogs & I feel liberated. Difference in support between Niall & harry songs and realise they are just harrie with tolerance to Niall.
good for you!!! the little bits and pieces they posted on youtube are like 95% of the interview. i was hoping they would put up one whole vid like they did for other artists, but.... :// lol

here are my 2 cents: first of all, i love the pics. i personally would’ve chosen a different cover but i love the concept and style. i am confusion tho: what were they shooting in nyc when he was wearing makeup 👀 and then of course i loved the paragraphs about him being aware about social issues and his own privilege as a white man!!! that was some gud shit and i said this before but u can def see progress in that department with harry. i’m also glad he (finally) spoke about the things he’s been doing on stage bc that meant A Lot to a lot of ppl ✊🏽 and just him talking about the shows and the fans, the paragraph about young girls (which was almost paste© from last time but we’ll let it slide bc we can’t say it enough!!!) and feminism, loved all of that ! i think they danced around the sexuality subject with those 2 paragraphs but barely touched it which is sad bc that’s smth i’d love to hear more about from harry, especially after medicine, but alright understandable.
moving on to the more controversial opinions SIGH i think a lot of it was very pretentious and i KNEW it was going to be bc that’s rolling stone to u but . god . the whole la talk and namedropping 😬 idk what to say about the ‘shroom stuff other than el oh el jshgsd felt more like he needed to prove smth with that?
maybe it’s just me but it feels so weird to read about harry being open from the standpoint of a fan bc that’s the last word i’d use to describe harry rip it sounds like the album will be more personal which should be interesting but it’s also strange he’s sharing those feelings but he refuses to, idk, use instagram or twitter anymore. compared to other artists he’s very detached from his fanbase but the article made it look completely different. “Harry used to be pop’s mystery boy, so diplomatic and tight-lipped. But as he opens up over time, telling his story” got me pikachu.jpeg jsdhgds i was honestly kinda stunned too that he said his fans have given him a safe space bc i would’ve never thought he felt that way, and it’s lovely but! let us know these things urself instead of thru a rolling stone interview!!! i know there are a lot of valid reasons as to why he isn’t on social media etc but those parts just felt so weird to read about.
now….the album . i KNOW i have to wait and actually hear it and shouldn’t already make up my mind but everything that’s been said is so……disappointing. i think it’s mostly bc i was expecting smth wAy different and now it feels like the same ol’ shite, “sex and feeling sad” is literally a summary of hs1 rip i listened to cosmic dancer which could be hs1 with strings to me jshgsd and then the fact that it’s a breakup album…….is he really gonna make me listen to songs about camille? 😩😩😩 i’ll be honest, i resent that, mostly bc we KNOW know…u know? also felt very wrong that someone else was talking about their relationship when harry himself didn’t even wanna mention her by name, did not like that. anyway, my hopes and dreams and wishes for hs2 were: more pop (although i saw he was hanging out with max martin, so maybe not all is lost), gender-neutral bops as well as some gay vibes (just give us medicine ffs, he fucking knows we want it) and just…..smth different. i’m still holding on to some things that i’m hoping to see/hear in hs2 (for example in regards to lyrics/song structure bc i feel like there was a lot of repetition in hs1) but right now it all feels too much like rinse & repeat with the vibe he’s going for, the rolling stone mag, perhaps live lounge and snl too, def a radio1 thing with nick etc i’d just love to see smth different from him but i KNOW i’m getting ahead of myself so this is mostly me being worried™ 🤪 ALSO, CAN I JUST SAY . FUCK ROB SHEFFIELD FOR TAGGING ALONG TO THE FM SHOW INSTEAD OF THE EAGLES AND ROBBING ME OF MY NARRY CONTENT WHAT THE FAWK (or mayhaps THAT is why we didn’t get narry content from the fm show? fuck rob sheffield either way)

tonight’s fuck squad was a very special session, in which we did not play pathfinder because maddela’s player had a class scheduled because she wants to develop her artistic skills PERSONALLY WANTS TO SEE ME WEEP. so tonight, i broke out pandemonium and the DILF Patrol played their first adventure!
“No snack mat? What, we eat our snacks off the table? Like animals?”
Rhonia’s player proceeded to drop her icing from her booze cupcake right on her character sheet, presumably in protest.
The DILF PAtrol consists of 4 DILFs and one MILF played by the beard as a guest
Yoni: “I am Peel Hat-trick Narris.” “I wouldn’t let her call herself Heel. Didn’t want the foot fetish jokes.” (Peel is a local musical theatre actor and a magician.)
Rhonia was playing Jordan Malik, a 25-year-old DILF that has a podcast, carries his baby everywhere, and who I kinda headcanoned as looking like Sergei.
The Beard played Stacy’s Mom (Rachel Wayne) who was also heavily into wine mom culture and I guess an antivaxxer?
As a side note I googled Stacy’s Mom to play it for his intro and the first result on Amazon was a porn called Stacy’s Mom 2 and, like, can you not? That music video was creepy enough as is.
Saida played Dirk, a doomsday prepper DILF.
Sergei’s character wasn’t named Dads Mikkelson because she is a coward. His name was Soren and he was a european actor who smoked and wore tracksuits.
Saida: “Someone had Fritos here. I can clock that from a mile away.” “That’s your paranormal talent.” “No, that’s making the Fritos disappear.”
Saida: “I put a bagel on a garbage bag while I was stoned and called it a New Brunswick plate.”
we eventually get down to actually playing, and the DILF patrol’s mission this week is to track down the Leydeckier Slab, a massive slab of ice mined from an arctic cave with weird prehistoric markings carved into it. it went missing from a local convention centre from the owner, joseph leydeckier
Dirk: “How armed do you think I should be?” “not?” “Very. Got it.”
Rachel: “I use mind reading to tell if his name is an anagram!” “He’s not thinking about whether his name is an anagram because that’s not how any of this works.”
Leydeckier is apparently an anagram for celery dike and I’m dying
Leydeckier is being interviewed by reporters about the slab’s theft. Our patrol finds out that he’s not too bummed because it was mostly a publicity thing for him and his company, Hydrix, which sells Pure Chill water
i did not make the Pure Chill water=chillwater connection because i’m a dumbass
he does not know dr phil
they investigate the scene, and find out that the night guard apparently spontaneously combusted. Soren uses his communing with spirits powers to talk to the ghost to find out how he died- apparently someone in a bathrobe set him on fire. He then has to go out for a smoke because he’s scared of ghosts.
Peel: “I hope they can’t MAKE people spontaneously combust. I can’t afford that in this line of work.”
they discover a vial that reads “Manufactured by Jacqueline Farrell”
and listen guys i was gonna make this a standalone unrelated to the fuck squad universe
but i made this story by rolling on the random tables in the book
and the first result i got for minor phenomena was a store that sells some magic items but mostly junk
that’s just feral jake my dudes
jacqueline confirms that a weird twitchy dude in a bathrobe bought that from her- it’s supposed to be a weird substance that, when you pour it on a crystal and shine a laser pointer through it, makes people “spontaneously” combust. she assumed it was some bullshit though
rachel buys a hunk of moonstone and horoscopes from her
by then it’s evening, so jordan goes home to take care of his baby and everyone else goes bar hopping because they’re all negligent parents, goddammit guys, being dads is in the name
jordan gets an e-mail to his podcast account from someone named Garth asking to meet up, because he’s a Venusian who has some info on the slab but he doesn’t want to talk online because men in black might be watching. he agrees to meet up at a local bar called the shed, and tells the rest of the patrol who meets him there
Also there’s apparently a cult who is convinced that, if the slab thaws, the end of the world is nigh.
rachel rolls to see how her high chemical tolerance handles the alcohol but she rolls a 1 so she is white girl wasted.
garth tells them a bit about the slab, then offers to discuss it somewhere a bit more private. rachel tries to read his mind, only to find she can’t- turns out he’s a martian, not a venusian. he panics and attempts to shoot her with a stun gun, and gets tackled to the ground and tied up.
[discussion of the ice ball flat earth theory] “okay i am from space and I can tell you that is not true” peel: this conspiracy goes all the way to the top!”
Dirk got up and took a photo of the star chart because her husband doesn’t believe that my game is run like a kindergarten class.
In interrogation, Garth revealed that he had a partner he was here to abduct humans with, but he got disintegrated by some guy with a bathrobe and a crystal behind an abandoned gas station called Spaulding’s.
“He chose the name Craigory, a perfectly normal human name!” Peel: “As peel hatrick narris I believe this.”
Jordan: “Suckin’ on those spuds!”
they leave the martian tied up in the bar bathroom and go home.
Jordan googles to find out more about the cult and finds that they call themselves the Brethren of Lumi and that they believe they’ve translated the marks on the slab.
At about 4 AM, however, the power goes out.
I intended this next bit to be a quick little “oh no!” but they made it into a whole thing where Dirk drives Rachel’s Hummer around town and picks everyone up and gets them to get their bugout bags and it was a whole Thing but anyway they all end up at Spaulding’s
Peel walks through the wall in the back to sneak in, while Dirk kicks in the window to see what’s going on. Three cultists in bathrobes are desperately pouring purchased ice into an old ice cream freezer to try and stop the stolen slab from thawing.
It does not work, and the creature who was imprisoned in the ice, a weird lizard made of ice, revives and attacks, killing one of the cultists.
Jordan attempts to channel his past life, Mary Read, but fails so hard he’s just convinced he is her with none of her skills or talents for ten minutes. He takes one of Dirk’s guns and shoots at the lizard.
Rachel tries to make a molotov cocktail but does poorly.
Peel gets stuck in the wall trying to get out of the bathroom.
Dirk shoots the lizard a bunch of times with his harpoon gun.
Meanwhile, Soren manages to find the crystal and solution they used to burn the guard and uses it on the creature. It melts, and the day is saved by the DILF patrol
