It's official...

Today, I plucked a loose hair off my shirt... and it was gray.

Then I took as good a look at all the hair still attached to my scalp... and found two more gray ones.

I'm not going to lie, this feels weird. I've always considered myself to be an old soul, but this is different. Now I'm actually getting old. I know, 33 isn't really all that old, but sometimes it feels like it.

And now that I'm starting to turn gray... it just hits me more than ever that life is so short. We really don't have all that much time in this world. I've wasted a lot of that time being a passive participant, just letting things happen, good or bad, without much effort. I want to change that. I want to take control of my life. It's going to be hard, really hard, especially with the triple-combination of ADHD, anxiety, and depression that I face every day. But I'm tired of letting things just happen. I want to enjoy life, to truly live, not just to exist.

Anyway... there's my little existential crisis. Y'all have a nice day.

CONFESSION:

I can hardly believe Inquisition is 9 years old now. I feel like I played it for the first time not too long ago, yet I'm nearly a decade older.

Mod Note: Origins will be 14 this year. Dragon Age 2 just turned 12. This blog started in August of 2011 (I took over in February of 2012)

it seems to me like eldest tries really hard to make it seem like arya has a lot of personality and complexity as a character and frankly it's not really working imho. like. there's a scene that really frustrates me. where we're told that she and eragon sit and talk about their families, their lives and whatnot, but that dialogue just. doesn't exist. how the hell am i supposed to see her as something other than a clear attempt from paolini to create "ideal woman who is so perfect and wonderful and yet will eventually fall for our protagonist"? give her some depth! make it make sense to me that eragon would be interested in her, aside from the fact that she's oh so beautiful. paolini makes him literally say to her that he cares about his friendship with her, but tbh i don't think any of us do either because their friendship has never been properly developed. most of the time it's eragon's inner monologue going "wow she's so pretty and wonderful and has such stealth and her figure and her hair and omg she'd never be with me :(" and her being mean to the dwarves or smth.

(You open for interactions?) Joker shows up at Danica's door, carrying her accordion case in both hands. She's pouting. "Hiya, Songbird. My roommate kicked me out for playing too loud while she's studying, but I gotta practice for our club performance. Can I play here?"

(A/N: Yep! I wasn't in the past but I'm growing more confident in my writing and my characters so I'd like to test the waters and try more of these!)

Danica opened her mouth as though she were about to say something, but no sound came. After a few moments of her mouth agape, she shut it, but not before breaking into a fit of giggling.

"My dear, you might have just picked the worst possible place for your practice," she said. "But you've put a smile on my face, the first I've had all day, so I'm gonna help you!"

She stepped outside the gilded hallway, looking to her left and then her right, before pulling at her friend's hand. "Alright, let's make our way to the ballroom, where you'll get a better feel for how you sound. Thankfully, Sidonie-san gave me the spell to unlock the door. And even more thankfully, the dorm leader meeting doesn't end for another hour. Play away until then!"

countdown to the anniversary of my freedom from the womb is T-minus 5 days

i did end up going to the library yesterday! :) it was a lovely walk and i ended up fixing my card too so i was able to actually get books ^_^ i woke up in a CONSIDERABLE amount of pain earlier but was able to sleep most of it off and even then i think it was worth it.
