this is the silliest post i've made in a while but. imagine a series of unfortunate events type au where louis and claudia move from city to city, and armand and his theater troupe follow them around like count olaf and his troupe. armand keeps doing different disguises and romancing louis under all of them and claudia has to keep uncovering him before louis marries him.

Danny decides he's done as a hero but not done saving people so he decides to become a doctor. Years later when he starts his residency, he ends up becoming close friends with Dr. Bruce Wayne.

Ghost gifts a single tiny ear loop to Soap one day. Says he noticed Soap had pierced ears. That rings keep from handling a gun or a knife properly. He doesn't make eye contact, tries to hide his face, even as he's already wearing his balaclava.

Soap blinks. Ghost has already given him gifts and only behaved that way for the very first one. He doesn't understand. The earring is very simple, but seems to be made of expensive material and not only covered with a thin leaf of gold.

"Didnae it come with another one?" he says, jokingly.

But Ghost flushes, turns his head, and lifts his mask, only enough for Soap to see the glinting of the other earring on his ear. Suddenly he understands that it's not simply a gift. Ghost favoured practicality, but he wanted to give him a ring.

He grabs his hand as it falls back down.

"Simon, what is this?" he asks softly, not daring to be hopeful just yet.

With his other hand, he reaches out to gently turn Simon's head back towards him. His cheeks and his nose are flushed, it makes the warmth of his dark eyes, generally hidden behind a sneer or a bored expression, undeniable.

He looks nervous. Johnny's heart is beating faster. Could it really be...?

"I know", Simon starts then pauses, uncertain. "I know I'm probably not what you thought you'd have, when you were younger" Soap wants to interrupt, to scoff, to protest that Simon is way better than anyone he could have hoped for, but doesn't. He never wants to cut off his love when he's barely starting to open up.

"I know that I'm not easy to be with some days, that I'm not friendly and easy going like you, like someone you'd deserved to be with." he continues, unconsciously pushing his face more into Soap's hand. "But... I love you, more than I thought I could, and I'd like... I'd like to be with you, for as long as you'd have me..."

Johnny's heart is soaring. He has no idea how to react. He'd have to get all the giddiness out first, and the moment doesn't seem appropriate for jumping around and squealing.

"Officially," Simon continues, voice quieter, out of breath. "If you want to."

A gigantic grin splits Johnny's face. All of his limbs are buzzing, he needs to stand up, to run, to explode something. But he's terrified to spook Simon so instead he just squeezes the hand he's holding rhythmically and moves his feet back and forth.

"Baby, are ye asking me tae marry ye?" Johnny says. He's pretty sure his voice is wobbly, but can't really hear it himself as the blood in his ears is louder than the rest.

Simon's eyes do something, what is visible of his face looks like he has an expression on but Johnny can't analyze it now, doesn't dare to see the hope in his eyes, the pleading in his brows.

"I... Yes, I guess I am," the love of his life says finally. "If you want to. You don't have to."

Soap can't keep himself in check any longer. He's making a high pitched noise, jumping up and down where he's seating on the bed, and throws himself at Simon.

"Of course ah fooking want tae!!!"

Simon lets out an excited giggle, swept in Johnny's mood, and tightens his arms around his lover. No, his fiancé.

This is the best day of his life. He just has to deal with this mission tomorrow, and then they can start to plan everything.

but fr the way bruce said "why shouldnt i kill you!" in battle lines toward jason, then ripped him off his bike in catwoman 57 (with jason stressing heavily that it could have killed him) and now bruce brainwashing jason (batman 138) into literally being afraid whenever his heart rate rises or he feels adrenaline - which isnt just vigilante stuff, you feel adrenaline when you get excited or fall in love o feel angry. also constantly being afraid causes high blood pressure, increased chances for a stroke or heart attack ect,,, honestly there is SOOO much to suggest bruce is gonna kill jason, or at least have some part in it, im terrified

Okay so firstly spoilers for batman 138 bc honestly only started thinking about this when I saw the previews / leaks from the newest issue but yeah we see later on in that issue Jason is now constantly afraid so obviously the toxin Bruce spiked him with is just working constantly and it's negatively impacting his mental state I also started thinking about this bc another character asks Jason if he'd be interested in immortality which to me is a bit of a red flag that someone's gonna die but also could just be bc vandal is around either way something is going to happen to Jason by the end and I cant say I have enough faith in zdarsky at this point that it's gonna be good

I’ve been kind of brain dead for ideas lately but an old one that I was batting around the other day was, following Jack Drake’s death everyone was scrambling to figure out what to do with Tim. Bruce wanted to adopt him, Dana was going to take him when she was well enough, Dick probably threw his hat into the ring to give the kid options.

Now Tim has this grand scheme to circumvent all this by hiring an actor to portray a made-up uncle but he looks out at the city one night and is Tired. This city stole his peace, bits of his flesh, his friends and now his dad. Suddenly he doesn’t want to live there anymore. He makes a phone call and a few days later, he’s on a bus to Smallville to be fostered by Martha Kent.

Kon was a little surprised at the call but Martha didn’t hesitate to sign those papers. She’d seen the fallout of Tim when his mother died, if no one else would take care of Tim then she would. He arrives with a backpack full of clothes and a U-Haul of computer equipment which he sets up in the back guest room barely leaving room for a bed.

He goes to Smallville High with Conner, eats an early, homemade dinner by Ma who kisses his forehead before he Zetas back to Gotham for patrol. He’s still Robin, still fights and bleeds for Gotham. But he can’t live there, not right now. Bruce is doing his pouty hurt dad routine, Dick thinks he’s trying to make a move on Kon but really Tim is tired of the brutality of the city and wants some peace for once in his life. He Zetas back early in the morning, quietly knocks on Ma’s door so she knows he’s back and heads to bed.

His allergies give him hell in the country but he still insists on helping Kon with chores. Conner laughs at how badly he fumbles through livestock feeding and crop tending and starts working on ways to make it more efficient. He sleeps through class and spars out in the open fields and, when he’s feeling homesick, Kon will fly him real high and drop him and he can pretend like he’s just dived off a skyscraper. Martha reminds him to eat, to sleep, to wash behind his ears and stop looking at gruesome crime scene photos at the dinner table. Tim’s never had a happy, normal family situation. It unnerves him but it soothes him too as he works, really works, on some of his more self-destructive habits. For Ma’s sake. Martha knows this is only temporary, that Tim can’t, won’t, stay away from Gotham forever. But she drapes a blanket over his shoulder where he’s fallen asleep 5 minutes into a movie on the couch and brushes his hair out of his sleep deprived eyes. She loves Bruce like a second son but Tim is her baby now too and she’ll tear B to shreds if he doesn’t properly care for Tim when he returns.

Kon and Tim, who’d been kind of dancing around their feelings for years, are now in an equally strange dynamic of ‘are we brothers now? are you just a bud crashing indefinitely at my house? we come and go from Titans Tower together what does everyone THINK is happening???’ and settle for just doing nothing. They do stay up late on nights Tim isn’t in Gotham talking about bad tv shows and how lame school is and rocket ships and the latest supervillain scandal. As weird as the situation is, Tim looks happier and healthier than he has in ages. Plus it’s kinda rad to have a sleepover with your best friend every night. As far as he is concerned, Tim never has to step foot in Gotham again.

Clark comes back to the farm from a long space mission to find Batman’s latest sidekick typing up a storm typing on a computer with one hand and stirring soup with the other. “Sup,” Tim mumbles as he remains focused on both his tasks. “Sorry, guest room is mine now. I’d offer it up but it’s a pretty tight fit in there with all my gear.” And that’s how he found out his Mom may or may not have legally kidnapped Batman’s sorta maybe I guess not kid from under his nose and he’s Clark’s unofficial little brother. All he knows is Bruce is going to be a nightmare at the next League meeting.

Renren better than me keeping the fact that he saw someone similar to Ebisu/Sano to himself until things calm down a bit because they already have enough to worry about, if it was me I would say the moment I step into Dr Takahashi's house "OMG, YOU GUYS WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHO I SAW TODAY!"

I'm sorry but there will never be a time when the silent brother hivemeind is not funny.

Then Clary goes to the Silent City and they poke through her head, try to destroy the block, go through her memories, do everything they can to find out who is at the bottom of this.

Meanwhile, Jem, who must know what they're doing because he's part of the hivemind, and also knows exactly which two warlocks helped Jocelyn disappear, and was an active participant in helping in the disappearance:

an idea that I'm turning and turning over in my mind is JC already being the person into whose arms JL spent the most time before JYL's death.

JYL's grief over her husband's death translating into inability to care for her son the way she was going to, making her unable to connect - her husband's death at the hands of her brother of choice effectively sundering her. JC helplessly knowing his sister is suffocating and being unable to change it, simply trying to make it so that she can weather it until in time maybe she gets better. JYL's death meaning she never does.

Maybe JYL was at the pledge conference because she can barely stand to be in the same room as her crying infant son because she's hanging on by a thread and the best she can do is remove herself and attempt to breathe. How about it.

i feel like if any one person had the privilege of knowing about chenfords secret relationship it no doubt would have been jackson. i mean, there’s honestly no hiding it from him, not with the way lucy comes home smiling like a lovesick puppy after every date she has with tim.

I know there’s no definitive proof in canon that Tim snuck out to photograph the Bats aside from right before confronting them about Bruce’s escalating recklessness. However, it’s definitely plausible that Tim was photographing the Bats for a lot longer than that.

In the six-issue arc where Tim leaves not just Gotham but the entire continent of North America to track down a villain, and he continues on to France for some soul-searching & training, it does not occur to him that vanishing without a trace would alarm his dad. Or alarm any other adults in his life.

Alfred knows about the first mission, but only Nightwing knows Tim went to France afterwards, and only because Tim needed Nightwing to drop him off. If he had his own transportation he likely wouldn’t have bothered telling anyone.

Tim briefly thinks about how he’ll likely be in trouble with Jack for this...but only in the context of leaving the house while grounded. He’s gone for at minimum of just over a week, likely longer, but sees the grounding as the potential problem.

None of Tim’s thought boxes through this arc bring up his dad worrying about him. It straight up does not occur to Tim that vanishing for days, possibly weeks, would make Jack concerned for his safety. Which it does! Jack actually files a missing person report with the police and seeks help from both Bruce and the Dzerchenkos (Tim’s then-girlfriend & her guardians).

In light of all that, I do think that back when Jack & Janet were both alive, before Tim was Robin, that he’d regularly leave his house or his boarding school for extended periods of time without adults noticing. Maybe he was traipsing through Gotham photographing Batman & Robin. Maybe he was doing other stuff!

That level of unconcern about how other people would take his unexplained absence & lack of contact strikes me as coming from experience.

Danny could totally blame some of his ghost fight injuries on Dash if he times things right. He avoids questions about how he managed to break his arm AND gets the added bonus of making Dash look bad.

He could use this to get out of gym for awhile as well.
