So, are you new to Watcher?
Whether you just discovered the dudes from Buzzfeed Unsolved premiered a new ghost hunting show or you stumbled across Ghost Files without having ever seen Ryan and Shane before, perhaps you find yourself a bit lost regarding Watcher.
So here I present a not-quite-short (yet I hope comprehensive) guide to Watcher Entertainment!
What is Watcher?
Tumblr media
Back in 2019, three ex-BuzzFeed employees (Ryan Bergara and Shane Madej from BuzzFeed Unsolved and Steven Lim from Worth It) joined forces and announced they were launching a new production company and YouTube channel called Watcher. They toiled at it for an entire year and their new channel premiered on January 10th, 2020 with seven shows, the first of which was Puppet History (but more on the shows later).
youtube
They started with a grand total of five employees: the three cofounders, Brittney Lee (Production Supervisor) and Anthony Frederick (Creative Director of Post Production). Now, Team Watcher has grown to include several more people, including some ex-BuzzFeeders like Katie LeBlanc (who used to produce BFU and Worth It, today is Head of Development at Watcher), Annie Jeong (who you may know from Worth It and the Berry Boys video featuring Ryan and Shane, now a Senior Creative Producer) and Mark Celestino (cameraman for BFU, now Senior Creative Producer at Watcher).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Currently, Watcher presents a new episode of whichever show it's currently in season (right now it's Ghost Files of course) every Friday at 12 PT. Between shows, or sometimes on Wednesdays, they might air One-Offs, which are smaller, well, one off videos. Over at their Patreon you can find more content including:
Early Thursday access for Friday videos
Watcher Weekly+, a weekly talk show featuring any combination of cofounders and/or Watcher crew, where they answer fan questions and sometimes open fan mail. NOTE: for a taste of these, you can refer to their now-extinct Watcher Weekly show, formerly airing on Wednesdays over at YouTube dot com.
For higher tiers, a monthly livestream also featuring any combination of cofounders where they shoot the shit for an entire hour
Also for higher tiers, audio commentaries for select episodes
And for the highest tier, Discord AMAs with different members of Team Watcher.
Onto the shows:
Watcher has many shows. A whole lot of them. Ryan, Steven and Shane are very creative guys and it shows. When they first started, they began with a new episode of a different show every week, which was for some people very confusing. They've settled into airing whole seasons now, so after we're done with the premiere season of Ghost Files, we'll move onto a new season of Puppet History and then onto another show.
Because it's so many shows, I'll only describe the ones that are still being produced, along with the shows that premiered for the first time in 2022, in chronological order.
Puppet History
youtube
Helmed by Shane Madej, this was the first show that appeared on Watcher and the host, a puppet named The Professor (played by Shane) has become the de facto mascot of Watcher. If you liked the Hot Daga and Ruining History, this is essentially its spiritual successor. Here, The Professor leads Ryan and a different guest through a journey of a wacky historical event, while they compete to see who will become History Master. The lore gets really deep.
Top 5 Beatdown
youtube
A Ryan Bergara concoction, Shane and Ryan debate asinine topics ranging from the hottest Disney cartoon characters to top dog breeds, comparing top 5 lists and often fighting about it. When they do not fight, the duo showcases their one shared braincell. In every episode, they have a guest who knows more about the topic than them.
Are You Scared?
youtube
Also created by Ryan Bergara, Are You Scared? began as a Zoom show and evolved to being shot in person after pandemic restrictions eased. Ryan tells Shane one of the spookiest stories from the internet, and they both laugh over it. In a way, the format is similar to Unsolved, and the promotion campaigns for it are hilarious: once, Ryan pretended he'd been kidnapped by The Professor and made an entire photo shoot about it.
Too Many Spirits
youtube
From the galaxy brain of Katie LeBlanc, this was the first show shot in person during the pandemic, and also the only Friday show to feature all three co-founders. Ryan and Shane gather in a backyard to read ghost stories submitted by fans, but they get drunker and drunker every episode. They start off very normal, but by the fourth and last episode of each season, they are absolutely unhinged. By the way, the drinks? Handmade by Steven Lim himself, who turns out, is a (not) wonderful bartender. In the most recent seasons, we get an actual professional bartender, Ricky Wang, who has a very special working relationship with Steven.
Dish Granted
youtube
Created by and for the suffering of Steven Lim, Dish Granted is about love and food and friends. In each episode, Steven sets out to grant a friend of his their dream dish, even if it costs Steven his own sanity. Currently, the episode with Simu Liu holds the honor of being the Watcher video with most views. I love it, and you should too.
Worth a Shot
youtube
In each episode of this show hosted by Ricky Wang (of Too Many Spirits fame), he creates a special cocktail for a different guest. Ricky definitely knows what he is doing, and so, this show has a very soothing quality to it.
Eat Like Me
youtube
Also made by Steven Lim. Join Steven as he learns more about different cultures and/or lifestyles as he eats for one day as someone else. In the pilot season, he discovered the joys of the diet of a Korean college student, the woes of British people, and the pain of a professional eating competitor.
Pretty Historic
youtube
Created by Selorm Kploanyi and directed by none other than Sara Rubin, Pretty Historic looks at history from another point of view: beauty and makeup. It is an incredibly pretty show, the aesthetics are top notch, and it dives into really interesting subjects. I am begging for y'all to watch this.
Ghost Files
youtube
Finally, Ghost Files doesn't really need an introduction. Ryan Bergara's baby, the official successor to BuzzFeed Unsolved, and in the words of Shane Madej (to which I subscribe wholeheartedly), the perfect ghost hunting show. Only an episode and it's corresponding Debrief have been released until now, but it's so good. So different from BFU in a much, much better way, while still feeling incredibly familiar. Wow. The Ghoul Boys have done it for real.
Tumblr media
However, Watcher has a vast catalogue with even more shows than those, plus all of their one-offs. My personal favorites and recommendations to you are Weird and/or Wonderful World (with Shane and Ryan) and Homemade (hosted by Steven). Homemade particularly feels like a work of art that I don't feel gets appreciated as much as it should.
Also, I greatly recommend watching Ryan and Shane Eat Everything Boysenberry (Again): Bless Annie for doing this for us. Berry Boys 2, once again taking off at Knott's Berry Farm.
So where can I keep up with Watcher?
If you aren't following them in at least one of their social media accounts, you might want to do that:
Their YouTube official channel
Tumblr
Twitter
Instagram
TikTok
Patreon
Finally!
These are the bare essentials to getting into Watcher, but I hope it's useful to at least one person. If you have any questions, ask away! Imo, the fandom is incredibly nice and would love to help any newbie find their way through.

New To Superman?
*Swivels around in villain chair petting a cat
So, you just caught up with My Adventures with Superman and you want to know what to read or watch while you wait for new episodes? SAY NO MORE! Here’s a list of personal faves of mine!  Now some notes, different writers have different takes in different decades and the publishers can play it fast and lose with continuity. So going from one story to another, you might notice some changes. Like weather or not Clark’s parents are alive or if Lois dating Clark etcetera etcetera. Don’t worry about it, just roll with it.
Now lets get started with THE SUPER LIST!
Superman: Birthright
Tumblr media
A solid starting point graphic novel. It’s got everything ya need for his origin story and is a fantastic character study of Clark and his arch enemy Lex Luthor. The art is pretty good as well and does a great job of showing both sides of Clark’s character and power. If you love the show and want to see how the books handle the Man of Steel’s first run in Metropolis then you got yourself a fun book.
Next we’ll get into some movies! Now, you can watch most of these on hbomax so let’s all vote with our wallets and support the official release! That way studios don’t make us wait ANOTHER 20 years for a Superman cartoon.
Superman: Unbound
youtube
Superman faces a cosmic alien super computer named Brainiac! Braniac’s deal is he wants to put cities in small bottles and then blow up the rest of the planet he collects them from. It’s a cool conflict cuz it’s a villain Superman can’t just PUNCH into submission. As Braniac can just download into another body if he did. So Superman is gonna have to get super smart to out smart a super computer..... listen the movie’s writing is better than mine, trust me.
Superman Vs The Elite
youtube
Oh, here we GO! Okay so this full movie is based on ONE issues of the comics. ONE. Not a 6 part mini series arc collected into one trade paperback. ONE COMIC! It was THAT GOOD! Superman meets some new heroes on the block, THE ELITE. They’re GRITTY and DARK and SERIOUS ANTI HEROES who aren’t afraid to KILL the bad guys! They’re also here to try and force Superman to retire his wholesome way of saving the day. This movie has amazing action animation and phenomenal writing that shows why the core character of Clark being kind still resonates with audiences when given the chance. (You’ve probably seen the big speech from this movie passed around youtube a lot and rightly so. This is a good one, go watch it!) Now, Superman has one of the all time iconic origin stories, but how does his story end? Well lots of writers have tried their hands at it. A few of them are good but my personal fave is probably ALL STAR SUPERMAN
youtube
Lex Luthor finally finds a way to beat Superman, but Clark isn’t going down without a fight and without saving as many lives as he can. It’s a grand all star parade of all the wild and wacky pulp adventure camp that has built up around the legacy of the Last Son of Krypton. If you want a satisfying conclusion to Superman’s story then it’s hard to top this one. Heck the book is also pretty damn good too!
Tumblr media
There is... a LOT of Superman content. 80 years worth to be exact. This list is far from complete and is only meant to serve as a starting point for diving into all this Super Lore. I for one am glad My Adventures With Superman seems to have lit a fire under the fanbase and I’m happy to welcome all you new readers and watchers to one of my all time favorite Superheroes.  HONERABLE MENTIONS!
Tumblr media
SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN! It’s exactly what the title says. Go read it! It’s inspired by the old school radio show (podcasts for your grandparents) that had REAL WORLD IMPACTS in the USA.
youtube
Finally, the 40′s Cartoons
youtube
These are a BIT dated and light on actual plot and character but there’s a retro charm to some of these.  Okay, That’s enough from me. What are YOUR top recommendations for new fans? Let me know in the reblogs!

Hi, this is probably blasphemy here, but… I’ve been trying to get through Revolutionary Girl Utena since 2022. Should I even bother ? It’s worth noting that I’m notoriously bad at binging any sort of show, takes me a while to get through almost anything, but 6 years and 26 episodes is definitely higher than average.
Honestly, I totally get it. There are certainly shows I have done this with, more than I would like to admit (little secret: sometimes when I say that I finished an anime, I am lying, and I really watched half of it and absorbed the plot of the second half through Tumblr Osmosis). Generally, my cheat for not being able to finish anime is to just give up and read the manga, but this doesn't work for Utena, because the manga is very different from the anime (and objectively worse).
In terms of actually getting through the series as a first-time watcher, a lot of people argue that the series starts to pick up in the Black Rose arc (starting with episode 13), but I actually did not enjoy that arc on my first watch, I much preferred it on my second watch because I was able to recognize the things that it does to set up the later plot. Without that context, the Black Rose arc can feel like a slog. On my first watch, I didn't get really into the plot until the end of the Black Rose arc, around episode 22. After that, everything starts to fall into place, and the last 15 episodes of the series are a fucking whirlwind amassing in the greatest finale an anime has ever had. And of course, if you decide to rewatch the series (which you should do after a few months! it has incredible rewatch value due to the huge amount of symbolism and foreshadowing it utilizes) you will find the Student Council arc and the Black Rose arc a lot more interesting. But that's a long way to go before you start to feel like you're actually getting something out of the series, especially if you're bad at watching anime. So, it is worth it? Unequivocally, yes.
I feel no shame in making the claim that Utena is one of, if not the, greatest animated series ever produced. No other series before or since has done what it does, and I believe that no other series ever will. It is Ikuhara's magnum opus, and you could dedicate your entire life to dissecting its themes and inspirations and never run out of shit to say about it. Finishing the series is just the beginning of your journey; Utena has a rich community of meta-analysts who have dedicated thousands of hours to doing exactly that, and part of the joy of finishing the series is being able to dive head-first into some of the greatest anime essays ever written. Most people agree that the best place to start is with The Palace Perspective, and while I don't agree with all of the opinions presented here, it is undeniably an incredible series of essays with a lot to offer.
TL;DR, if there's any series in the world that worth putting in the effort to finish watching, it's Utena. Although if you haven't already familiarized yourself with the triggering content of the series, you can find a full trigger guide here.

Traditional Ice Fishing
Story: River Watchers (Part 1)
Words: Just under 500
Content: Near Drowning, Bad friends (kinda), Bad Caretaker(s) (also kinda mostly in upcoming chapters), Injuries, concussion, I think that’s it but let me know if I should add anything pls, also this is my first story I ever posted so if anything wrong just tell me
———
There was a time, many years ago, when Jonathan used to watch his family go ice fishing. His dad and two older brothers would get all their morning chores done, they would bundle up in the warmest clothing they owned, and they would come back hours later cold and wet yet somehow happy, carry buckets of savory fish for his mother and sisters to fry. Jonathan was just a small child then, to young to go with them, but he always wondered what exactly they were doing out there on the water.
This is what, he thought, as he slipped under into a deep, freezing black abyss. This is what they were doing.
Jonathan steeled his nerves and opened his eyes, only to regret it instantly when he was hit with an even greater rush of cold pressure as water rushed in. To make matters worse, it didn’t even help him see any better in the pitch black void of a river his buddies told him to go in.
I just need one fish, he told himself, as if making a promise to the world. One fish and I’ll win the bet.
Just minutes before this moment, Jonathan’s friends had told him to jump in the river and catch a fish.
“Come on, it’s traditional ice fishing. Everyone can do it! Or was your family so weak as to have never taught you?” One of them had jokingly mocked, daring him catch a fish the traditional way, even with the freezing cold and iced over river.
“Ha, of course I can. I’ll do it right now, in fact!” He proudly boasted before jumping in, neglecting the fact that he had never actually been taught traditional ice fishing before. His mother said it was too dangerous, after two of his brothers nearly drowned while fishing, and forbade him from doing it. He very much regretted neglecting that fact now.
His shoulder hit a rock protruding from the riverbank, but he was to numb to feel its impact, all sensations except for the cold and the darkness being overpowered by the water rushing around him.
It turned and tousled him around, leaving him without much control at all where he was going. To make matters worse, he did something wrong while diving in, and was now being swept away by the strong current. Just when he was beginning to consider panicking, he hit the ice on the surface of the river hard.
That was when he remember that the word ‘ice’ in traditional ice fishing was not there for exaggeration, and he began to stop considering panicking and start actively panicking.
Air. Air. Air. I need Air. His mind screamed at him, but no matter how much he tried, he just couldn’t break through the solid barrier of ice on the top of the river. Is this… really the end? He thought. His mother, father, brothers, sisters, everybody he’s ever known, would this really be the last they’d see of him?
No- not like this- Was his last thought. He intended on continuing it, but was robbed of the chance when the current swept his head into a sharp rock, ending what was probably the worst few moments in his entire lifetime.
———
When Jonathan came to, his head was pounding in agonizing pain, his clothes were sopping wet, and his body unapologetically shaking as if he were a clothes washer on high. Sounds buzzed from behind him, but he couldn’t make out what they were saying, or if they were saying anything at all. He could feel something lightly touch his shoulder, and he let out a small moan of pain as it moved ever so slightly.
“Thomas, Annie’s telling me that there’s somebody there. We have to check it out. They could be hurt!” Jonathan could faintly make out somebody saying in the distance.
“Are you sure, Nina? Their probably dead if they washed up from the river this time of year. It’s been frozen over for the past week.” A man, presumably Thomas, said calmly.
“I know, but what if we’re not? We can’t just let somebody die on our research site!” The other voice, that he could know make out to be a young woman, replied indignantly.
“Very well. Let’s hurry, then.” Thomas replied. Jonathan could start to hear hurried footsteps in the distance as they sped up toward his location.
Jonathan opened his eyes carefully, not wanting to disturb the relative comfort he had too much. There were ice crystals on his  eyelashes, that pulled apart with an odd sensation.
As he opened his eyes, he saw two people rounding the corner, quickly hurrying toward him. The man and woman were both wearing matching light grey coats and black snow boots, and the man had a brown leather backpack on, while the woman was carrying a clean white box in her arms. She let out a gasp as she then ran toward him, dropping the box at his side.
“Oh my gosh! Who are you? Are you hurt? Thomas, do you have any first aid supplies in your rucksack?” The woman who was probably named Nina asked hurriedly, worry plaguing her voice.
“Of course I do.” Thomas replied smoothly, jogging over to where Jonathan laid on the ground and setting down his pack in front of himself. “It’s a mandatory item for excursions, and I knew you weren’t bringing your rucksack considering you brought Annie with you.”
“Oh, right!” The woman exclaimed while the man pulled a first aid kit out of his backpack, as if just having remembered something. “Annie, return.”
A small robotic drone flew into the box that the woman was carrying, before making an electronic chime the likes of which Jonathan had never heard before.
“Wh-what’s that?” Jonathan asked weakly, he teeth chattering so much that he could hardly talk. Immediately after, Thomas stuck a thermometer in his mouth, immediately silencing him.
“Shh, don’t worry about it. Your body temperature is incredibly cold, and you’re probably injured after bumping into a rock or several down there. You’re very lucky we found you, you know. Now, are you injured anywhere?” He said calmly and reassuredly, as if nothing was ever wrong in the world, before pulling the thermometer out of Jonathan’s mouth.
A/N: That’s the first part of River Watchers! Expect the next part in a couple of days. I’m so glad to be posting whump after lurking for so long. Also, pls tell me if you have any criticism or think I should change something, I always welcome advice!

RATE THE EPISODE 309 Responses
Tumblr media
Overall the episode was a hit with viewers, with the majority ranking it a 4 or higher. Over half of all respondents rating it a solid 5. The hype is real!
I thought this was a great episode. A lot of hype moments and the CGI worked for me, for the most part. Looking forward to the next episode!
All around exceeded my expectations if mappa keeps this up this will go down as the best anime in history
Chef's KISS!!! 10/10 episode, i was extremely hyped the entire time.
It was amazing and I hope MAPPA keeps up with the same quality for future episodes
Amazing episode really hype
I thought the voice acting was amazing! :)
Great episode, not perfect but neither was WIT. No adaptation is perfect. This was fantastic.
It was pretty good just maybe good have been done better but I’m just happy it was done at all.
I’ve lowered my expectations to rock bottom at this point
An enjoyable time.
I think it was great! I was very excited and left me wanting more tbh
It was a very good episode!! I'm so happy to see the survey corps again!
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING MOMENTS WAS YOUR FAVORITE? 310 Responses
Tumblr media
Mikasa’s reintroduction to the series takes the largest piece of the pie, with 31.6% enjoying the scene the most. In second comes the coordinated attack from the Survey Corps against Porco, with 14.8% feeling that scene really brings the hype. At 10.3%, Levi’s first appearance in the season takes 3rd place, and with 9.7% is the overall fight between Eren and the War Hammer Titan.
Ackermans ran this episode as they should. They're on a whole different level.
Why isn't the Sasha-Gabi moment in the list of favourite moments? That's my actually favourite moment. Gabi seeing Sasha through the fire and smoke, Sasha's reflection in her eyes...chilling.
THE CGI CONTINUES TO BE A POINT OF CONTENTION. BE HONEST, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE EXECUTION OF CGI SO FAR THIS SEASON? 309 Responses
Tumblr media
In general, the fandom appears to be understanding of MAPPA’s usage of CGI, with 38.2% being completely unbothered by it, 20.1% feeling that while it’s not ideal, it could be much worse, and 18.8% not particularly caring for it but not faulting MAPPA for it either. A handful of people just wish that there would be more appreciation that it’s getting animated at all, while others continue to be a bit salty about the usage of CGI this season.
Did people forgot the god-awful Colossal titan's CGI from WIT? Well, I didn't so I wasn't surprised by the same level of CGI in Eren's scene (thankfully just one of them). I rarely have issue with CGI in SnK except for truly awful looking ones so like couple of times in the season, usually.
I honestly wouldn't even know there's CGI if everyone wasn't complaining about it. I honest to god can't see where they use it.
It's mostly fine
I thought the war hammer titan looked AMAZING, the only CGI that looked odd was the scouts in the background, but that’s really it...?
A few sore spots (e.g. Erens titan looked kinda off this ep), but it's not season-ruining yet.
CGI Titans >>>>>>>> CGI Survey Corps
It works fine for titans that already look somewhat mechanical (Armor, Jaw), but it looks incredibly awkward for the others, to the point of taking me out of the story.
Sometimes great sometimes shit
Maybe I've been spoiled by studio orange and the previous seasons, but I know for a fact that they can do better. This is not a new anime, this is the final season of one of the greatest anime of all time, so yeah I expected much better CGI, it was poor and unecessary.
i think it’s gr8/unnoticeable,,,,,like we all put up with the colossal titan in s1-3 lmao
Some Titans like Eren and Beast look a little weird but I just really like how they made effort to make it blend with the art style. Maybe if they had found a way to cut the animation down to 12fps it might not look so bad? Anyways I think it’s good for what it is, MAPPA is doing their best!
I barely noticed it. The animation looks BOMB. Top 5 episodes of the whole series for me and BEST action episode of AOT easily.
I'm always going to prefer 2D but I understand why they're using it. Still sad about what could've been if they were given enough time to work on the season. Definitely going to lower my expectations.
My dumbass wouldn't even notice, I just want to see the pretty people
I think the CGI for the Titans is completely fine. It's the CGI for the Scouts that was a bit off putting for me. Still, not enough to ruin the episode. And if we continue to get animation of this standard I will be fine with it.
At this point after episode 7 onward eventually AOT CGI is going to be worst than EX-arm's CGI
I love it because it makes the titans scarier and more eerie? I also miss the 2D ones because they feel more natural. Overall, I think it's fine!
I think the CGi is well executed (for the most part), I just don't like that they had to use it so much.
It's a great job. They manage to execute it very well and go to a normal animation when it's needed. It doesn't bother me tbh
HOW WAS EREN’S ROOFTOP SWAN DIVE? 309 Responses
Tumblr media
Eren’s dive in the anime was a bit different than in the manga, but it seemed to get a few laughs out of the fandom, so we asked you all to rank it. 58.3% felt it was the most beautiful dive to have ever dived, while only 5.5% think Eren really needs to work on his form. He did his best.
WHICH RETURNING CHARACTER’S ENTRANCE WAS YOUR FAVORITE IN THIS EPISODE? 310 Responses
Tumblr media
Mikasa stole the show this episode, with 53.5% enjoying her entrance the most. Levi wasn’t too far behind though, with 29% of respondents hyped over his return. 11.6% were very happy to see Sasha again, while smaller chunks were glad to see Jean and Connie.
They massacred my Jean-boy’s entrance 🥲
WHICH RETURNING CHARACTER HAS THE BEST MAPPA-STYLE GLOW UP? 304 Responses
Tumblr media
We got a more colorful and evened out pie for this question. Overall the largest chunk, at 24.3%, are enjoying MAPPA’s take on Eren’s iconic “hobo chic” look. 21.1% think Sasha looks the best out of all of them, while Mikasa trails just behind her at 20.1%. 16.1% are grateful for Connie’s design, leaving 9.5% favoring Jean, and smaller handfuls appreciating MAPPA’s take on Levi and Floch.
Chubby Floch
Here I am watching the trailer all over again because that's probably the only way to see Jean animated handsome and with his actual manga face. MAPPA what happened?
Levi has a thicc ass
I’m a big fan of all the time skip character designs, it was hard to pick just one favourite :)
Jean looked stupid... Floch too but that's not important.
OG characters designs feels a bit off to me. I understand why they use CG for some parts and I have mixed emotions about it. I hope they won't rely on it too much on the upcoming episodes.
#ITSTIMEMIKASA WAS TRENDING ON TWITTER BEFORE THE EPISODE AIRED. ON A SCALE OF 1-5, HOW MUCH DID IT LIVE UP TO THE HYPE? 304 Responses
Tumblr media
One of the most anticipated scenes of the Marley arc was the return of the Survey Corps and the way Mikasa paves the path for their reintroduction. The fandom appears to be very happy with MAPPA’s execution of the scene, with 60.9% of respondents rating it with a 5, with 27% rating it a 4.
EEEEEEEEEEK MIKASA
Mikasa! Mikasa! Gosh love her!
im so glad mikasa is back owfejgrnrkdfs
MAPPA INCLUDED FILLER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE EPISODE OF WILLY HESITANTLY DEPARTING FROM HIS TEARFUL FAMILY. WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE ADDITION? 310 Responses
Tumblr media
The series isn’t known for having too much filler, but typically what filler does exist seems to be appreciated by the fandom, and this was no exception. 56.8% of respondents were happy for a little more fleshing out of Willy’s character (also learning that those kids were his!) and being able to sympathize more with him. 19.7% appreciated the more sympathetic addition until they remembered he was willing to throw Liberio under the bus for his plan. 13.5% are appreciative of any and all additional Willy content. A small amount didn’t like the filler and would rather have had MAPPA put their effort into other things.
I liked it. Got to see more of his fine ass. lmao
Don't add extra 2d animation if You can't even handle what's in the manga
It would've been better to show before he was dead. Fleshing him out after the audience already know he's dead doesn't hit as much imo
Wasn't one of the scene itself, but then again I'm always interested in scenes I haven't seen yet.
I am so grateful, willy for is one of my favourites and omg we got to see his family and how is he a lovely papa 😭💕 I can't ask for more bless you MAPPA🤘
fuck them kids
Why should we feel bad for him? He tried to unite the world against Paradis. He got what he deserved.
this was a benefit. as manga readers, we had time to know willy. anime onlies will only ever have these 2-3 episodes and it was very humanizing
How is that possible that Tybur little kids in few seconds were louder nad more chaotic than THE WHOLE CITY DURING THE ATTACK??
It's very regrettable he left so many children fatherless because of what he chose to do. Really saddening..
I’d have rather seen more of the manga animated
I knew why they added it, but I (personally) think willy is crud. Not mad it's there tho!
He did his duty as a Tybur to the very end. Honestly I wish he could have lived longer, he’s a really compelling and interesting character.
I feel like some viewers have carelessly misunderstood Willy because of that scene in the carriage. They're like 'wow, he really hates and shames his own people huh?' but at the beginning of the episode we all saw his abundance of children. Would it not have been extremely contradictory if he had truly wanted the extinction of all Eldians and then at the same time did the complete opposite by mass-reproducing a small army of Eldian children? Maybe that's why that scene was added to the start of the episode, to keep people away from mischaracterising him. Unfortunately, this may have simply been missed or overlooked by some.
they should had polish the damn episode instead of fillers.
Loved it! Mappa is killing it with the episode additions
Reading the manga, I truly didn't even consider the possibility that these were Willy's children because he is so obviously a ~*bachelor*~. Like, it didn't even cross my mind that those children weren't his little nieces and nephews because he is suuuuch a Theater Gay. Nothing can change my mind.
Wait a minute, are these the kids in that ending slide from season 3?
IN THE ORIGINAL CHAPTER 101, MAGATH IS THE ONE WHO ADVOCATES FOR KILLING EREN INSTEAD OF EATING HIM (IN CONTRAST TO HIS SUBORDINATE KOSLOW) AND NOTES THAT “THE AGE OF TITANS IS OVER.” IN THE ADAPTATION, MAGATH INSTEAD ADVOCATES FOR EATING EREN, NOTING THAT KILLING HIM WOULD ONLY PROLONG THE PROBLEM. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE CHANGE? 305 Responses
Tumblr media
A minor dialogue change didn’t seem to have much of an effect on nearly half of respondents, with 47.5% saying they’re indifferent to the change. 43.3% like the change much better, feeling that it works a lot better with future story developments and makes more sense. A handful didn’t care for the change and felt it tampered with Magath’s overall characterization.
I think the change was logical and more consistent with the story, but I'm naturally skeptical of any AOT manga-to-anime change.
I forgot this.
It ovewrites the flaw of Magath's original plan. Even if I think its unfitting of him, it makes sense.
I'm not sure what I feel about it. Kinda like how they added Falco having a dream back in episode 1. For now, let's just see.
I suppose the new change is a little contradictory because Magath dislikes Marley’s reliance on Titan power and rather just wishes th ey had prowess in other ways.
Realistically eating him makes more sense for them to eat Eren so they gain control of the Founder but I think Magath accepting the age of Titans is now done for is more in character.
It obviously makes more sense logistically, but I think it's important for Magath to stand opposed to Marley national policy on this front, like, symbolically.
BETWEEN UDO AND ZOFIA, WHO WOULD YOU HAVE LIKED TO SURVIVE TO RECEIVE MORE STORY IN THE MANGA? 304 Responses
Tumblr media
Though they are minor characters, the anime seems to have made some of the fandom a bit more fond of them. Still, 38.5% wouldn’t change anything about their fates, stating that they were necessary for Gabi to develop further as a character. 28% would rather neither of them died and are curious about how they would have developed if they lived to see another day. 23.7% say if they had to pick only one of them, it would be Udo due to his relevant commentary. A handful leaned toward Zofia, wishing they could have learned more about her.
Udo. But at the same time Isayama can barely handle all the characters that are still alive so Udo probably wouldn't get a lot of screen time anyway.
Zofia. I didn't care about her while reading the manga, but in the anime she was more unique. I liked her stoic voice a lot. Zofia and Gabi should have switch the places.
None cus i don't like Gabi
Both or neither. One would be just a third wheel to Gabi and Falco. I would love to see more of Udo and Zofia but I think their deaths were important
Udo and zofia's deaths hurt so bad. I didn't particularly care for either of them when reading the manga but i grown attracted to them in the anime. Udo's in particular breaks me. He was such a energic kid and he... got trampled to death. I'm just...
Neither. Both were serving an enemy nation and deserved what they got.
They weren't important to me so I don't really care
OPINION ON HOW THE ATTACK ON LIBERIO WAS PORTRAYED? 306 Responses
Tumblr media
47.1% of respondents didn’t want to pick sides, stating that the attack was tragic in both mediums of the story-telling. 25.8% felt that it was much more devastating in animated form alongside the sound, music and voice acting. 18.3% felt a bigger impact while reading the manga.
Both versions are devastating, but Manga hit harder bc I just was so confused and couldn't stop trying to figure out wtf Eren was doing and why. Watching it knowing what I know made it somehow more devastating and yet also more palatable (bc I have a better understanding.)
It was more devastating in the manga. Especially Udo's death scene
I think I have to wait until the battle is over. So far it's alright.
Loved it
It gave me more emotions in the manga.
They got what they deserved
It was far more devastating in trailer 🙄
WE FINALLY HAVE A NAME FOR LADY TYBUR - LARA! THOUGHTS? 307 Responses
Tumblr media
One of the few characters left with no name after the large guidebook released a few years ago, Lady Tybur was all we could call her (aside from fan-given names). Now she has an official name! 26.7% found it neat that we finally got this official detail. 25.4% feel that now they can finally sleep at night. 17.6% are forever grateful for the name drop and hated waiting so long for it. 15.3% don’t care at all and 11.7% feel this confirms that Isayama is a fan of Tomb Raider.
Not what I was expecting and wasn't expecting her to get a name. At least people can stop calling her Emma or those other dumbass meme names.
Cool. Next up: names for the Blouse kids, right? Right right?
I'm not kidding when I say I literally jumped up and screeched "SHE HAS A NAME!!!"
she didn't need it. she was the mysterious lady t.
Lara was more lucky than Traute, who got more panels in the manga but her name was mentioned only in the guidebook.
Still died
WHICH SCENE FROM THE PREVIEW ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO? 306 Responses
Tumblr media
Of all the shots in the preview, 45.1% of respondents were most looking forward to Levi’s staged attack on Zeke. 17% favored seeing Mikasa assist Eren, 15% were most looking forward to seeing Falco emerge from the basement to see the carnage outside. 10.1% were stoked to see Pieck enter the battlefield. The episode has aired as of the publishing of these poll results - we hope these scenes lived up to the hype (even though we guessed one wrong lol).
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
I enjoyed the episode very much. I felt that the CGI was handled fairly well given the time restraints. However, there were a few instances where it was a bit jarring like Eren eating Willy, Eren pulling the WHT's cord, Mikasa landing on Eren, and Jean climbing up on the roof. Also some of the CGI models looked a bit weird for the scouts. I'm hoping some of these issues can be improved on in the Blue-ray version. Overall, these issues were noticeable but didn't take too much away from my enjoyment of the episode.
As much as I don't like the CGI, episode was great.
Just that it was fantastic and I can't wait for the next one!
The music is top notch. I love it. Especially the new version of XL TT near the end
After re-visiting the trailer we got for this season, it's just....saddening. Everyone was wondering how Mappa was gonna animate AoT and after seeing that trailer, all that effort by the animators, I thought "it's in good hands!". Now that we're getting the episodes and it's underwhelming. I don't blame the Mappa animators at all and cgi is unavoidable at some moments. But whoever are the higher ups who said "animate this in the shortest amount of time" ARE the assholes. It's so upsetting for this anime and the workers of it to be brought down like this :'(
Continuing to enjoy the pictures on the page come to life in the anime.
It was pretty amazing, I was waiting for so long to see this part animated! Aaand I'm so happy I got to see again the scouts! (expecially Connie, my personal fav)
Erwin should had lived instead of Armin, so Erwin can nuke Marley dropping from a blimp
I really liked it! I don't understand all the critics about the animation. It looks really neat and smooth
the SC backlit in that final scene was sickkkkk
It was different from the manga, but all the differences just improved the storytelling and fleshed out the people in Marley. Well done, MAPPA!
aaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
I’m just grateful Mappa actually gives a shit about adapting the story properly. That alone makes this season a 9/10 for me cause that’s rare to see in the anime industry these days.
THE OST WAS FIRE
Gabi's voice acting was amazing this episode ! Also, it feels good to hear the ODM gear sound effect again. The CGI didn't keep me from enjoying the fight, we got awesome camera movements and good choreography, I'm very hopeful for next episode ! Also best boy Onyankopon might appear soon ?
I seriously do not know why people are complaining. It was amazing! Can't wait for the next episodes, it's going to be action-packed and intense!
I don't know if I liked the episode or not. I usually prefer manga so even episodes I like I prefer their manga versions but there is something in off with the episode and usually, Titans fight are more excited but this one Nah it was not at all. War hammer was great in animation it served a better understanding of its powers but the fight, in general, was like boring?? idk maybe because I am a manga reader so the titan power/character's introduction was not as thrilling as they were when I've read the chapters. anyways, there is still more of the attack on liberio in the next episode so I'll give my final thought when we conclude the arc
I really enjoyed and the CGI doesn't bother me.
I think the reason Attack Titan looks a bit off is it looks a bit thinner! Warhammer looks amazing because it's a true copy of the manga. If Attack Titan was a bit buff, I think nobody would have that much of a problem. Overall the chapter is amazing!
as much as i adored everything else i must admit... what is wrong with the character design? what happened to everyone's jaws?? i think jean, mikasa and pieck were the worst drawn. in the manga, they look flawless.
I just hope we would get actual discussions in the sub instead of circle jerking or bitching about the cgi/ost etc.
The soundtrack was epic as hell
Mappa is doing a good job, with the little time they had. But sadly, they had the capacity to do way better and I will always regret this situation. And the Jojo memes on Mikasa are on point: in that specific panel, she looks ugly and unlike her cute face in the manga. For the rest of the episode, she's well portrayed
I think this episode is a taste of what is to come. It’s one thing to read still, silent pictures of complete devastation, and it’s another thing to hear the explosions, the screaming and crying. Seeing the blood painted red instead of black and white. When Eren rumbles the world, more people will realize how evil it is, how completely irredeemable. Less people will be #teameren once they get to see it in the anime. I can’t wait to see what MAPPA has in store.
So many nice details in the battle that weren’t there in the manga, the war hammer animation was particularly great
I feel bad complaining, but this was the first episode of the season that has disappointed me at all. Every other episode I feel has elevated the manga. I don't want (and never expected) to be that person, but the CGI, especially on the humans (WHY??) was so awkward it was distracting. We also lost a little bit of expressiveness from Eren, which is kind of a big deal when there's so little from him to begin with.
Soundtrack was lit!!!!
It is what it is. But after I finished the episode I went back to watch the trailer and got sad that the season just isn't going to look like that. It's not bad by any means and I understand that these are people, not robots working on this with an extremely tight schedule. This entitled fanbase is super embarrassing with it's behavior and harassment of the people working on it. I kind of hope the final arc doesn't get animated now because these people don't deserve it.
Awesome! I was a bit distracted how the pacing was, cutting a bit weirdly from one episode to another, but I really enjoyed it!
That closeup of Eren's Titan after he nom'd Willy is NUTS.
It was emotionless and almost boring. The sound director keeps fucking up big time. I didnt feel anything close to the hype I felt watching the Armored/Colossal reveal animated. There were no exciting goosebumps, or tears. Nothing. Also the CGI was terrible. There were good things, but I expected much more for suck a climatic episode
It was a good episode after all, graphic was ok but i think that if they continued with the same titan 2d animation of first episodes and maybe changed a bit some sound it would have been waaay better. Still a good episode imho
The episode was very average. I'm not trying to complain, I know that the anime is mostly for anime-onlines, while we have a manga, but I expected better. I imagined the titan fight to be smooth, but in reality both - WHT and AT - moved like two, fat elephants. In the manga I felt that WHT was fast like a wind. In the anime Lara was slow, she looked like she had a hard time to even hold her hammer. The moment between Eren and Mikasa was disappointing. In the anime when Mikasa was upset about Eren's actions, he was completely unfeeling, while in the manga we see him being full of emotions and almost crying. I know he will turn into a cold bastard but MAPPA shouldn't dehumanize Eren so much now. I was surprised by Connie's glow up. MAPPA has done better job with him. In the manga he still looks like a kid, while MAPPA made him more mature-looking and masculine. That's good for underrated Connie. I'm grateful for the scene between Willy and his children. This way he feels more sympathetic and isn't ""just a guy who declared a war and was eaten by Eren"".
I really like how the warriors and Marleyans seem to be getting a somewhat equal amount of screen time as the scouts have gotten after they've come into the picture. I hope this helps to make clear for the anime-onlies that understanding the experiences, emotions and the development of the other side is just as important as understanding those of the scouts/Paradis.

"You can be a hero!" - The Strongest Hero BNHA Game Review
We’re so used to watching our favorite characters fight their battles and anime as we cheer them on relentlessly. We are always on the sidelines and hope they succeed in their endeavors, but we are never in the stories ourselves.
That has now changed with the new mobile game that came out recently based on the popular anime Boku no Hero Academia by Kohei Horiskoshi.
Welcome to: Boku no Hero Academia - The Strongest Hero.
Tumblr media
Today, a week after the global release of the game, having played a little and explored some of its features, we will dive into what the game brings to the table, the mechanics of it and what you can expect!
Makii and I worked together on this, especially since we are both fans of BNHA and love to delve deep into these kinds of reviews.
So to start off, this game has had its global release on the 19th of May 2021 and was published by Sony Pictures Television for the US and by A PLUS JAPAN for the EU already on the 18th of the same month.
Many people have pre-registered for the game release beforehand in hopes of snagging rewards, and only quickly enough the first million downloads were established in a matter of days. No wonder at all, since BNHA is one of the most popular new generation anime. There is a huge fan base surrounding it who are eager to play the game.
Before the global release was initiated, it was released by the chinese studio Xin Yuan on December 3rd 2020, which resulted in many people using VPNs and emulators to experience the charm of ‘The Strongest Hero’. No wonder the game downloads skyrocketed when it was released globally in english (more languages such as german and french coming soon), it was recorded that the players had problems getting into overloaded servers, but those problems were quickly managed.
If you have no idea what the anime or manga of BNHA is about but are still interested, let me give you a quick synopsis.
In a world where 80% of the population are born with mutant abilities called “Quirks”, the job of the superhero became more than just a fantasy in comics. Now, the police are second rate as everyone looks up to the heroes who support and save the world.
Izuku Midoriya, also known by his nickname ‘Deku’, is one of the few Quirkless humans but still admires hero-work like nobody else.
Until one day the tables turn and he ends up with his own new power, now ready to go to renowned U.A. highschool for heroes to become what he always wanted to be: someone who saved lives with a smile on his face.
Now in this game, you are the one who steps into the shoes of a young aspiring hero who wants to climb up the ladder of success and defeat all villains in your way while protecting your people.
Are you stoked now? Let’s find out more!
The Game:
Tumblr media
Advertised as an action MMO-RPG, The Strongest Hero brings not only one but multiple different player modes that you can enjoy alone or with friends online!
Firstly, it’s an immersive story-telling game that lets you relive the actual plot of the anime Boku no Hero Academia so spoiler alert for the ones who haven’t watched it yet, this game will be dealing with the Deku’s story throughout it all.
It starts off with the first episode of the anime, showing us recaps and recreations of the anime but in the game-animation with small bits of interaction to refresh our memory on the fateful incidents that made Deku a true hero. With this retelling of the story, avid watchers of the anime can enjoy everything again from a new perspective, and new people with no knowledge of BNHA can still enjoy the game just as much.
It was even mentioned that the story campaign will be dealing with the contents of season one to three so far, with more already in planning.
So the developers made sure that the game is not only catered to its original fanbase, but to everybody out there!
Now with Deku as the first person you play as, we fast forward to Izuku who is more advanced in his skill set, as he already uses his original ‘shoot-style’ and One for All Full Cowling. You’re now a provisional Hero who just got his license, working for your own agency and completing missions all around town, meaning there is a little skip between the beginning of the game and where you actually start in Honei City.
The open-world is huge and leaves all sorts of possibilities to explore as you not only defeat villains, but also talk to the citizens and maybe even collect trash to fulfill your duty as a hero. Not only Deku is at your disposal, but currently a lot of other class 1-A students will soon fall into your hands! As Toshinori was released as a hero in the last update on May 26th we can assume that there are more to come.
Game modes:
Single player: As previously mentioned, the game will immediately lead you through the single player story campaign, as you try to keep the city safe and sound by defeating villains and completing missions.
There are next to the main-story missions the daily missions in which you ensure the city’s prosperity to get more rewards daily.
With this mode you can play with a multitude of skills and combos and the handling on the phone is very pleasant. With a left joystick on the touchscreen and skill buttons on the right you can activate the swift and powerful attacks that we already know from the anime.
There are also multiple things to do as a single-player as you can collect your daily supplies in several missions which you will need for training your hero, enhancing your gear and more limited to 20 runs for each supply with several difficulties.
Hero trials, commissions and even more features are all available despite being alone keeping you busy for a while, as some don’t even need stamina to fulfill since stamina limits the player in the missions they can do.
And if that is all too much action you can simply explore the city on your own and search for special items on your way.
This is extremely interesting for the ones who like to play at their own pace and alone to enjoy a mix of story-telling and hack n slash combat.
PvP: Contrary to the first mode, if you’re more interested in actually playing against others, ‘The Strongest Hero’ won’t disappoint in its Player vs. Player mode.
Even here we have multiple ways to play, as the Arena takes on a more classic 1 vs 1 feel in which you can defeat other players similar to other fighting-games, or the Super Co-Op battle which allows you to play 3 vs 3.
Soon we will also know what the mysterious War Zone Co-Op entails, as that feature is still to be launched.
Other Co-Op features are also the Agency assessment, the joint operation and Emergency.
Emergency shows us more of the work of a hero, in which you suddenly trigger an event that is of urgent matter and has to be completed with a team of other players quickly. Time runs out, and it is all about the true work of a hero where you have to act quick!
There is truly something for everyone in here
Not just an MMO:
Truly, this game is a lot more than just an MMO, even though its open-world is a huge part of it all.
To get your preferred heroes and play them, the game has a gacha system in place for you to pull for your luck!
Deku is in the player’s repertoire from the start, and his skill-set is very dynamic and swift with less damage but a lot more speed. His comments are just as loud as in the anime, and if that doesn’t give you any satisfaction do not worry! Every hero has his own fighting style and can be explored by playing the missions in which you will quickly deploy Denki Kaminari and Kirishima Eijiro.
The game differs between three types of heroes: Speed, Power and Technical as the three examples Deku, Kirishima and Denki already represent each respectively.
There is also knowledge that there will be Pro-heroes and even some villain characters in the mix.
The skills range extremely from heavy handed to swift or long to short range attacks. Just as varied as the fighting style is, we have beautiful animations that display the Quirks and many possibilities to use them.
Done with all the fighting? Look at the adorable dorm feature in which you can earn more stamina and organize a dorm room for your heroes. You can even make their chibi-versions run around in that room and catch a break from all the hero work.
Although the story might pester you with it’s orange glowing button in the upper right corner, you can just ignore everything and explore the gorgeously crafted open world environment(in most cases).
Yes, you can even walk up buildings!
Of course there is an autofinding feature to briskly get you to where your missions lead you, but if you so desire you can look at the urban starting world and walk around.
Since everyone else will have Deku as their first hero as well, it is incredibly amusing to see all the other Deku's running about.
The starting setting is true to the anime and shows us urban and modern Japan, with a strong hint of technological advancement.
The preset graphics on SD will give you the ability to walk around smoothly, but if your phone can take it, I urge you to at least try to up the graphics to a better resolution. The scenery is truly mesmerizing, and the art style as well as the visual effects have a huge appeal.
It’s even nicer to look at for the ones who haven’t seen enough of the BNHA universe in the anime, because now there are an abundance of regions to explore and the developers have made sure to give us a lot of eye candy.
“You” can be a Hero!:
After all this technical talk, why should you play this game?
First of all, from what I have witnessed as an excited anime watcher and manga reader, the story is catered to include the player.
It’s a lot more different than just watching Deku go through the world, you are actually responsible for how the mission turns out. It’s exhilarating to see characters from the anime like Kamui Woods and Mt.Lady talk to you and ask for help, as they are characters we didn’t see all that much in the anime. It gives the impression to be needed and included which is a great asset!
A hero doesn’t stray away from any work, so yes you will have to pick up trash from time to time or just talk to people to assess situations! Still, there are a lot of cameos of other characters like Hatsume Mei who takes care of your support gear.
Second of all, there is a lot of freedom for you.
From all the different game modes and mechanics to the story and even the split up Co-Op modes, you will have a lot of possibilities to explore and find why you want to play the game.
One thing is for certain, the gameplay has something for everyone and gives adequate rewards to you for every mission or task you clear. Features get unlocked gradually through playing the story and leveling up, which keeps the player on their toes.
One mission quickly leads to another, and it seems there is no end to what you can do, especially in the beginning of the game.
Sadly, that is also one of the drawbacks I will have to mention.
Due to the immense freedom and possibilities, the game bombards you with a lot of information. As a first time player, it’s probably that you will get overwhelmed by the forceful approach of the tutorial, but after a while it definitely gets a lot better in my opinion.
My personal highlights are the gacha system as I love to collect and work to pull my favorite characters, the story as a fan of the franchise and the co-op because I love to play the game with friends. So far I haven’t had the ability to actually play with others, but from what I’ve seen it all has a lot of potential.
Even though we’re talking about a free-to-play game, since stamina is one of the necessities to play missions etc, it is very scarce and often drives one to want to buy it, which is why the game leans towards a pay-to-win game. Still, with a bit more patience and some hard work everything is playable for free.
All in all, I shall conclude that The Strongest Hero is an honest and great attempt at making an anime based game which held a lot of expectations from the fanbase.
The immersive factors are amazing, the animations are top tier and the possibilities seem endless. At the end of the day it’s a game that is playable regardless of how much time you have due to the auto-play-function in many features and can be enjoyed in your personal way.
I hope you enjoyed our take on reviewing the game and give it a shot! If you have played it already or are planning to, please leave your personal impressions in the comments!
What a Co-Op teatime! Hope to see you again!
SUUMASHU!!

...You know, I have been thinking a bit about this past decade. My memory is crap to be honest but looking back at it... It sure was a mess of ups and downs.
It started with me leaving highschool after failing the second year, as I’ve grown too tired and annoyed by the dumbness of its teaching methods. In that year then I have started attending to a, uhm, I think I can call it a specialization school for making comics. Despite having turned 18 in those years, I was still very immature, and ended up leaving that school as well as I considered their final goal to be bullshit (even tho now that I look back at it it kind of had sense).
Still, while I have ended up disliking that school, as I both hated the fact that they said they welcomed all styles when in the end they still favored non-manga styles and the fact that I ended up hating one specific classmate that even made me get sick at one point... I am thankful for that school. Before then, my dumb immature self was your typical “ew western media sucks, manga and the anime is the best!!!”, but that school make me open up to western media... and I started appreciating it more. It led me to eventually discover VALVe’s games, specifically Team Fortress 2, and I have met so many friends with it. And while I hated how my art was taking western inspirations from my full One Piece-influenced style, and I still hate to this day how my art had suffered in those years, I am thankful for it, because my style is now more unique and personal and I actually like it.
In those years I have also obtained my driving license and a motorbike to drive with, which ended up with me giving up with it between the bike being difficult for me to handle, and attempted getting a scuba diving license as at the time I loved the idea of learning the activity, to which I ended up giving up as I really couldn’t deal with the salt water getting in my eyes, and the one time I was actually able to do a successful immersion, I ended up with my inner ears getting an irritation and causing any successive immersion impossible in order to get the license.
But then, after I left that school in the middle of the second year of three, things just... started spiraling downwards. What followed was half a decade of pretty much lurking in my room. I rarely got out of my room, I often refused to go out with my family, and the first signs of depression started showing up. And if that wasn’t enough, in those years we had my sister’s first puppy dying shortly after she bought it, her second dog giving me headaches, mom discovering she had glaucoma and started treatment to at least slow it down, to which she started getting into depression as well, my dad leaving home because he was tired of maintaining us, leaving one daughter barely doing anything with her life, the other daughter who at the time was still struggling to continue university and had a young dog to take care of, a wife who just went through an operation to her eyes and was horrified at the idea of not being able to drive anymore, all three of us without any kind of income of our own, and two aging cats of which one was starting to show signs of sickness, in complete shit. That episode caused mom to have a serious breakdown and was hospidalized and successively put into recovery.
What followed that episode was years of complete mess. My depression got worse, sis found love and left home to stay with him, mom came to meet a person who she felt love for and at the time helped her recover and come out of her heartbroken shell, which while she was happy with him, both me and sis saw something was wrong with him. And soon enough, a couple years later his true nature started to show, but mom was too blinded through anti-depressant meds and other stuff and it took her 3-4 years before she was finally able to leave him just this month. Until then, it was a complete mess between them and us.
In these recent years however, between all the mess that happened to which I only have bad memories of, something good did happen. I started learning more about myself. Thanks to a failed attempt at consulting a psychologist, who turned out to be an old incompetent witch, I was finally able to figure out the one fear that was ruining me all those years, it turning out to be a fear of others’ judgement upon whatever I am or do. And while I still didn’t get over it, it has helped to at least aknowledge it.
Then, the best year for me happened. In 2017, as I had given up on trying to get attention and a following after so many years of envying other artists I admired, I got into a game I would have never guessed I would have ended up liking. I started having fun with my art and ideas again, drawing mostly for myself. And just like that, I started getting quite the following for the content I delivered for it. My art made a lot of people happy. I can still remember the warmth in my heart from those days.
Then it got even better. Not even half a year later, I randomly doodled one particular character, from an old project I had given up on working on for the lack of interest on it, during a stream. My watchers loved him. They wanted ot know more. It sparked the itch to revisit the idea just for the hell of it. I drew a little more for it. People loved it. The happiness I felt in those days was immense. I kept playing with that project. People loved whatever I drew. It was liek a dream.
But dreams eventually end, and between what was happening in real life at the time and the shift of attention getting away from my content, it contributed in my depression to come back with a vengeance and make me feel worse about myself.
Then, 2019 arrived. This year was, a complete mess, even more than the previous years. Mom was struggling between leaving her companion who turned out to be a piece of shit and trying to finally start gaining any money with her new job who she has been struggling with for the past 2 years. And I have reached a point in which I was seriously scared of my future, and eventually accepted the offer my sister and mom proposed to me. As in temporarely move to my sister’s new home in order to find a job in her area. What I found was a seasonal job, which turned out to be hell for me. This was the worst summer of my life... but it also allowed me to grow as a person. I came to realize I was still a kid and needed to grow up, I finally got comfortable with driving on a road... but eventually returned home after the job ended as I didn’t want to be a bother to my sister. I was convinced that now that I had a vehicle of my own, it would have been easier for me to find a job in my hometown’s area. That was a mistake. Then mom returned to live back at home definitely, with her ex companion keeping tormenting her for all these months... and I ended up with the car incident in which my bike ended up getting damaged beyond repair.
I feel like I’ve taken steps back and returned at page one with my life... but you know what? I’m optimistic. I feel motivated in making something out of this year. I WANT to conclude something out of this year.
This past decade has been a mess, but I’m optimistic that this new one can, and will, be better. It just starts with a thought.
“I want to be productive.”

What's the Borderlands 3 Director's Cut?
Gearbox Software and 2K Games announced a second season pass for Borderlands 3. This contains the designer’s cut and the director’s cut. Both DLC packages will bring new and exciting things to the game. While we are currently learning more and more about the Designer’s Cut, Gearbox and 2K are keeping us in the dark regarding the Director’s Cut. This is where the speculation starts. Because if we breakdown what the Designer’s Cut is we might get an image of what the Director’s Cut stands for. The Content Reveals So the Designer’s Cut is actually the 5th DLC for Borderlands 3. And when you look at the content of that package, the main things that you see are things that expand the gameplay. New Skill Trees and a new Game Mode. These are the things that de game(play) designers work on. Things that they wanted to add to the game. This makes you think about DLC6, what do the Directors want to add to the game? When I think about a “Director’s Cut”, I’m drawn to the movie industry. There is commonly used to release a different version of the movie that’s more in line with the director’s original vision. A director of a movie doesn’t always have “final cut” because of the stakeholders. They want to streamline a movie to maximize profit. Which means the director’s original vision gets compromised. If I would translate this to video games, then you see that things get cut because the resources don’t allow for it to be included. The first Borderlands actually had a 3rd act but this got cut and the main antagonist, Commander Steele, didn’t really get to shine. My Director’s Cut With a Director’s Cut, I kinda expect a retelling of the story. So how do you add new quests throughout your game but don’t force your community to go through the whole game again? I was thinking about these jump cuts, just like in a movie when the hero connects all the dots to the movie’s burning question and BAM BAM BAM. Flashbacks showing all the hints you could pick up throughout the movie. What if DLC6 is a series of events that could have happened throughout the main game but are now lined up after each other. This way GBX could go more in-depth in the relation between Maya and Ava. Because Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck only briefly touches on the subject. While in an early Borderlands Show it was mentioned that they would expand on Ava’s storyline. I know Ava is not the most beloved character in the franchise but this could potentially fix Borderlands 3’s story for people. What if characters like Gaige and Krieg were already in the base game. Throughout Promethea, we see these bots that look kinda similar to Deathtrap. Is this the design that Gaige’s classmate stole from her when she created these crime-buster bots? Gearbox could open up a new area on Athenas and dive more into the Siren lore. They could reveal more about the ‘Seventh’. GBX hinted at this if you deciphered all the Eridian logs. Clearly, they are trying to set up something for the next installment of the franchise. Hopefully, during this adventure, we also get some answers to what has become of Lilith. Because during the Borderlands 3 credits you see a drawing of Tannis trying to figure out where Lilith has gone. And when you activate the Vault Key on Sanctuary you see a Firehawk icon pinpointing Elpis. War is Coming At the end of Borderlands the Pre-Sequel we got this big tease where the Watcher mentions that ‘War is Coming’. Gearbox Software completely dropped the ball on this one as Borderlands 3’s story focuses on Sirens and not the war at hand. While Gearbox cannot rewrite the whole game, it would be cool if they acknowledged the event at hand. That way GameRant doesn’t have to write an article about BLTPS not being cannon in the franchise. Vermivorous Jr. the Invincible If you have been playing Borderlands 3 for a while, you might have been trying to wrap your brain around that arena in Ascension Bluff that you cannot access. During the marketing of Borderlands 3, IGN received some exclusive footage from the game. In one of those clips, there is an encounter with a gigantic Varkid. If you are a veteran Borderlands player, you probably remember Vermivorous the Invincible. This was a hidden raid boss in Borderlands 2. In order to summon it, you had to let the small Varkids evolve into their supreme form. This was difficult to do but you were able to get the best rocket launcher in the game from Vermivorous. It would be cool if we could finally access this area, however, I think it would be better served if this area comes available to everyone as a free update. Because currently it just looks like a cut piece of content. Making it an event or do I say a classic raid boss would satisfy the fanbase. Is there something you would like to see in DLC6, the Director’s Cut? – MentalMars

Tower of God Anime: (Not) Brief Commentary
Hello all.
I'd like to discuss the few things I've gleaned about the Tower of God anime adaptation.
I was a bit afraid before it came out and disappointed with episode 1, but I'm not upset with the developments by any means. It’s a good series so new watchers will certainly enjoy themselves for Season 1. Let’s dive into the opinions.
1. Art style. Everyone looks beautiful to my eyes and the colors and shading is similar to the style it started out in. I'm pleased with how beautiful everyone looks, especially sister Yuri.
Tumblr media
2. Opening/Ending:
So the opening is “TOP” (Japanese ver.) Stray Kids” and the ending is “SLUMP” (Japanese ver.) from the same group.
The cinematic is not what I would expect for demonstrating what we can expect from the show. It's Baam like...falling down, getting rained on, distressed, tormented, glass falling... AMV material for sure, but I am not exactly pleased with it when thinking about a viewer's first impression of the show. It puts me in a strange mood. I don’t like it. A more stereotypical showing-main-character’s-faces-without-giving-away-too-much kind of intro would be better.
*coughs*
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HU_Z8RKo_Ow
Once I heard the music start, I sat through the opening and ending once to be respectful. But I don't like [this style of] pop, therefore I don't like [this style of] K-pop, and I will not be sitting through the songs again unless I'm watching the show with someone else who hasn't seen it before.
I didn’t really have expectations as for what the intro/outro music should have been at all, but *coughs again* have you ever heard Bokurano’s opening? It’s fire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05p646nlYS0
3. Episode 1: Content
The part some people are upset with.
To be concise, the beginning was rushed. At length:
In the webtoon, I liked Headon’s entire presentation of the situation with the eel as he talks up the task to be impossible for Bam to achieve. We hear Bam personally consider the consequences, we see him quiet his fear and THEN he rushes towards it regardless with nothing but his knife. Then the exclamation “marvelous” from our administrator. I think the simple exchanges between the two make for a stronger scene.
Asides from that, the banter that the webtoon includes between Bam, Headon, Yuri and Evan is gone... At least in the source material we see the princess coming so it's not like she falls out of from nowhere with the kick. We know why she was coming, because she knows someone opened the gate on their own, and is sating her own curiosity to find out just who it is. She questions Headon’s fairness with never giving Bam a pocket, so here she is seen sticking up for him from the very beginning despite her rowdy introduction. She also questions Headon about the test’s level and asks him to lower it to be fair to Bam’s abilities (to which her comical yet degrading skills assessment forces an appeasing laugh out of him).
Tumblr media
Then she asks Bam’s name, jokes about him being a player, then suddenly we’re back to serious and Bam is told he may never find what he is looking for and die here.
Tumblr media
The narrative swishes back and forth between comedy and seriousness. Episode 2 of the anime reinforces this pattern with Shibisu’s introduction right after 300 or so people are slaughtered for the completion of the test. He and Yuri are examples of this style of comedy, very easy going people who quickly change face when they feel like it and help the narrative effect.
Aside from these differences, the beginning for both materials is sudden and leaves many questions. So no, the anime adaptation for the first episode did not ruin the show. It is equally as abrupt as the first time I read it, albeit with even less content. If new fans really want to get ahead, they will come to the webtoon and read the story anyway, and if they start on chapter 1 they’ll see the differences immediately and be enlightened, that is all. Same conclusion: new, happy fans, just the way we used to be.
--Aside--
Ah, that fated day...
I found Tower of God on a beloved manga pirating site. I had clicked it for the lone silhouette of a boy child:
Tumblr media
That picture alone piqued my interest.
If that scantalation team or the website moderators--whoever it was--if it wasn’t for THIS picture up during that particular time in history, I probably would have never been drawn to try this title on my own. *shivers* Where would I be without knowing the 25th Baam...?
--End of Aside--
On my first chapter, I had no problem with the art direction. I must have been short on patience that day, however, because as soon as I saw Yuri’s brash introduction as she was questioning Baam up and down (like even before giving him Black March) I was ready to click off the manhwa. I harshly judged her trope before giving her a chance, and like I said I wasn’t familiar with the comedy flow yet so I thought her lines were cheap and uninteresting.
I ALMOST clicked off right then, but I hesitated and kept reading. Now I love her as big sister Yuri, and hints of this take on her character are present as I mentioned before. But hark? The anime sort of does her as a more haughty, “...unbelievable. You don’t even know who i am...I’m a miGHtY prINCeSs of JaHadDd uR iGnorance iS imMeAsUrable what even ArE yOu, how do you expect to survive in this worllld”
....like she doesn’t treat him like that in the webtoon, she’s just here to have fun. I...I don’t understand that decision but, you know, it’s okay. Tower of God has an anime, y’all. We’re alive to see this happening.
4. Voice Acting: I honestly look forward to a dub if there will be one. It's not bad by any means. For me, Rachel's VA has the tastiest delivery. Bam... I wanted him to sound more distinctive and cute... It would be nice if he could sound like 9S (NieR: Automata) or Mob from Mob Psycho...I really like the take on those two.
-- - - - - - -END OF THE LINE: - - -- - - - - - -- - - - -
I think we will be fine, let’s all wait together...
I’m off to watch a pirated episode 3 now. Thank you for coming.

What’s the last vegetable you ate, and when did you eat it? Ermm... some peppers in my cheesy chili burrito yesterday. The healthiest way to go about eating veggies, I know
What was your last Facebook notification for? A like on a photo
What bands have you seen live? Too many to list. I live for shows!
Tell me an interesting fact about your mother: She was born in Belfast & moved to the States when she was 3(?), but spent most of her summers back "home" as a child and teen. This was at the heart of The Troubles in N. Ireland so she has some colorful stories for sure.
What do you think is the most important thing to happen to you before the age of 13? I couldn't narrow it down to a single event. Unless we count the trauma I experienced that gifted me my PTSD, anxiety, & various other mental illnesses. But I don't want to deem that as "important."
What were you super against as a young child but aren’t anymore? Hm... I definitely had a lot of internalized misogyny growing up, so really any side effect of that. Now I love women, support women, and root for women, instead of shaming them or letting my jealousy overtake me!
What are your plans later today? Blue Barn Cidery! It's a beautiful day to get day drunk :)
Are you doing anything exciting this weekend? See above! Then tomorrow I'm getting brunch with the in-laws & then possibly day drinking round two? Do I have a problem??
Who do you talk to the most? Glenn, with Kathleen as a close second.
What are some things you do regularly that make you feel old? Welp, I just went to the mall yesterday and was absolutely baffled by all the shit I saw on the racks. That made me feel ancient!
Who is your best guy friend(s)? Sean. And Glenn too, but ya know he's technically more than a friend :P
Do you wish your skin was lighter or darker? I don't mind my complexion but seeing as everyone feels the need to poke fun at it or make snarky comments about it, I guess I'd like to be a touch darker.
If you had a tiny scar on your face, would you get it removed or just keep it? I'd like to say I'd keep it. Scars add character.
Have you had an x-ray in the past year? Nope
Do you think your first love still loves you? He still has feelings for me. Most of which are regrets and "what ifs" so I wouldn't say it's LOVE necessarily but, yeah.
What is something that is “going right” in your life? My beautiful, fulfilling relationship with Glenn. And my equally beautiful & fulfilling relationships with my other loved ones.
When did you feel ready to start dating? Honestly I never felt "ready." Relationships were always scary territory for me.
When was the last time your pet bit you? If you don’t have a pet, have you ever been bitten by someone else’s? I don't have a pet.
Where were you the last time you made out? Our bed
When was the last time you cried tears of joy? I came close to it yesterday! It's a frequent occurrence for me (and for that I'm grateful)
How do you type your sad smileys? :(
Do you have “decorative hand-towels” that cannot be used in your house? Nah
What was the last soda you drank? Root beer yesterday
What was the last thing someone made fun of you for? I got a scuffmark on my brand new sneakers yesterday and Glenn said "Are we surprised? You ruin all your shoes" (To be clear I wasn't offended. He's right! I'm reckless with my shoes because I prefer just being barefoot).
Have you ever had any type of surgery? Yeah, a few minor ones.
Should kids be allowed to get tattoos/piercings without parental consent? Umm, not sure
Who was the last person to hit on you? Can we count Glenn?
What was the last thing you decided not to do, that you were supposed to? Answer the phone
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to tell someone? Oh boy. Any kind of rejection is hard for me so anything in that realm.
What do you put on hot dogs? Mustard, and maybe some relish or sauerkraut
Ever fallen in the shower? I don't think so? Which is surprising.
Do you think that things will get better? They're fantastic right now but yes, I do see them getting even better than this!
Have you ever legitimately saved a person’s life? I mean, not to my knowledge. But who knows.
What’s your favourite book genre? Realistic fiction/domestic fiction/family sagas
Have you ever walked out of a movie at the theatre? Yep
Do dogs like you? Weirdly, yes. But the feeling isn't mutual. Sorry, pups!
Would you say that you project an air of authority? Not even a little bit
Have you ever jumped off a high dive into a pool? Nah
Do you use one towel when you shower or two? (one for hair, one for body) One
Have you ever been to one of the great lakes? I live right on one of 'em
Who do you know that had a baby recently? My friend Tori just had a beautiful baby girl!
Do you like Usher’s songs? Yeah, he was pretty iconic in my middle school years. His music takes me back to cucumber melon body spray & glittery eye shadow.
When was the last time you went to a waterpark? It's been too long!
Have you ever ridden a train? Yep, and I love it.
What do you eat your French fries with? Ketchup or mayo
Do you have family problems? Who the hell doesn't?
What’s the last food you ate that was stale? Hmm... chips?
How do you like your grilled cheese? I recently discovered the delicious of adding a little Caesar dressing to a grilled cheese and OH MAN OH MAN.
What is the most challenging meal you have ever cooked? This is baking, not cooking, but I made some focaccia bread the other week & really struggled. What was your favorite thing to do as a little kid? Reading and writing, of course. I was also a big fan of drawing & any other type of craft.
Have you ever been close to drowning? I don't think so.
Have you ever had a panic attack? Mhm
Do you like doing housework? No thank ya
Would you ever get implants? Yeah
Do you own a robe? Several!
Do you have a little sister? What’s her name? Kathleen
Do you like crust on pizza or do you cut it off? Yeah, I leave no crumb of my pizza untouched.
What was the last song you listened to? Kangaroo by David Gray
Have any of your family members been to jail? Some members of my extended family
Is there anyone that you feel you still need some closure with? Nah not really.
Can you remember when you first learned how to read? I don't remember but it was younger than average.
What event in your life has transformed your personality the most? Didn't I already answer this?
Have you ever had any teeth pulled? Fucking seven. At once!!
Do you still want to be what you wanted to be in elementary school? Yeah! I always wanted to be an author (and illustratorr, but I scrapped that one).
What’re some TV shows that you would like to get into? I'm not much of a TV watcher so I can't really think of anything.
How would you feel if you were drafted for the military? I'd die?
What is your favorite Queen song? Under Pressure ft David Bowie. Of course <3
Do you know how to use any foreign currency? I go to Canada several times a year so yeah. Though that hardly counts, ha.
Been kissed by someone who you knew was “bad” for you? Yep. But never again.
Ever taken an at-home pregnancy test? Yep
When was the last time you were at a loss of what to do? Daily?
What did you do on your favorite date with a guy/girl? My favorite date days with Glenn are when we stroll Park Ave hitting up all our favorite little shops and bars. We always make a stop at this delicious chocolate shop and stock up on sponge candy, and then we end the night at our favorite Japanese restaurant for ramen & sake!
What’s a movie you have seen in the theater more than once? None I don't think?
What is the reason you’re still alive? My family & friends
Have you ever had sex in someone else’s bed/bedroom? Yeah
Do you ever brush your hair before you go to bed? Sometimes
Have you ever had a dream about sleeping with a celebrity? (You don’t have to give details.) DANIEL FUCKING RADCLIFFE LIKE WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
Has anyone ever told you that they needed you? Do you think they meant it? Absolutely
How did you feel when you woke up today? What was the first thing you thought about? Felt pretty damn great actually! I was excited for the day ahead. I didn't even mind the fact that I have to work this morning :)
Do you still tell your parents that you love them? We're not that type of family. We express our love in different ways though, and I'm perfectly content with it.
Have you ever said “I love you” to someone you weren’t going out with? Yeah
Think of the last person you had sex with. Do you think they’ve slept with anyone else since they last slept with you? BOY HE BETTER NOT HAVE lmao
The last time you dyed your hair, what color did you dye it? Same as it ever was
Think of the last time you went out to eat. Who paid? Glenn & I went to the food court at the mall and got separate things that we paid for on our own
Do you save at least 15 percent of your income? HAAAAAAAAA no
Do you ever go on Reddit? If so, what are some of your favorite subreddits? It's my go-to bedtime reading! I love askreddit, antimlm, amitheasshole, glitch_in_the_matrix... tons more.
Were you ever a flower girl or ring bearer in anyone’s wedding when you were little? I was the flower girl for my aunt's wedding! I made it all the way down the aisle, then turned around & noticed everyone staring at me and burst into tears. Classic Elizabeth.
Are your parents in good health? Thank God, yes!
Have you ever been a caregiver to a sick/disabled relative? No
Is there any type of medicine you can’t take? For what reason? Not that I'm aware of
Do you have a favorite pair of pajamas? What do they look like? I have several cute pairs! But my go-tos are just nightgowns or big tee shirts most of the time.
Do you have any interesting pillow cases? Uh I wouldn't call any of them interesting.
If something on your body hurts, which part is it most likely to be? None!
Are you more afraid of spiders or bees? Neither really
Have you ever worn fake nails? If so, what did the last pair you wore look like? WOW I am literally wearing press-on nails as we speak. Yes, I'm trash. And yes, I love it.
Is Russian or Native American history more interesting to you? Both?

#4: [robotic voice] mu-sic
So, you’ve heard of music that people sing over instrumentals in recording booths, you know: Queen, Taylor Swift, Hozier, the like. But have you ever heard of composers using softwares to sing for them? Imagine this: a composer sits at their desk, arranging the instruments they’re using for a song, writing lyrics at the side, and after hours and hours of editing, it’s time to have the vocals sing. After a cup of coffee, they sit back down on their desk, and instead of calling someone to sing for them or perhaps sing their own, they open a singing synthesizer that allows their lyrics to be sang with pre-recorded syllables: VOCALOID.
That’s it. No actual vocalist needed. Just your preferred Vocaloid voice bank, some fine tuning, and a beat. Vocaloid was created using voice samples from actual human voices, recording every syllable there is in the Japanese and English language for users to use to their satisfaction. Now, this all might sound foreign to anyone but perhaps you’ve heard some Vocaloid songs in your own time. Ever heard of Hatsune Miku, Vocaloid’s most famous voice bank? How about her rendition of the Polish song Ievan Polkka? Of course, one can’t forget her iconic ‘sekai de’ from Ryo’s hit song World Is Mine.
Tumblr media
(image: Vocaloid Diva Hatsune Miku looks you in the eye.)
As a wandering, curious child scrounging the deep depth of the early internet, finding Vocaloid had been nothing short of a dream come true for me. Not only was I a child who regularly listened to Korean lyrics, I was also an avid watcher of Japanese animated shows. Mix it all together and you get, well, an anime girl who sings foreign lyrics! I was just about used to that. Cute lyrics, misleading videos, dark meanings, and hair to die for – Vocaloid had it all for little seven year old me. Now though, as a teenager-slash-adult, the one thing that draws me back in to Vocaloid every single year, without fail, is that all the content in Vocaloid is fan-made.
Let’s look at mainstream pop: a song is produced by either the artist themselves or through another producer, but it will ultimately be sung by the artist. Some add choreographies, some make their own, some hire choreographers. Eventually, the songs will be released through an album or a single, promoted by their recording agencies who release their songs on music platforms such as YouTube or Apple Music, or Spotify. Vocaloid challenges this whole process of of song production and distribution, simply because there is no one entity that produces Vocaloid songs. Everything released is made by fans: the instrumentals of the song, their videos or PVs, the promotion, the animation–all that is provided is a voice bank which producers will have to tune themselves through synthesizers for Vocaloids to sing their lyrics.
Vocaloid is sustained by the Vocaloid community. If all Vocaloid users ceased to use Vocaloid, then Vocaloid would most likely cease to exist as well. Yet Vocaloid consumption is not stopping. Why? Well, that is because this is a profession for some. Some producers do shoot to fame. Some stay within the fandom. Some do not. Vocaloid can serve as a sort-of gateway for producers to be known in the Vocaloid community first, then branch out into other forms of music when they become famous enough. A prime example of this is Kenshi Yonezu, otherwise known as HACHI in Vocaloid circles, who created and sang the opening song for 2017′s hit anime My Hero Academia. Now, his songs are known and heard all over the world through the show, but before all that, he was first heard through Hatsune Miku in NicoNicoDouga (the Japanese YouTube).
Kenshi Yonezu was part of what the Vocaloid community liked to call their golden age, circa 2007-2011. This was around the time VOCALOID2 was released, following the success of the first Vocaloid engine. New voice banks were released: Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, Kagamine Rin and Len, GUMI, Gackpoid, just to name a few. This was also the time when many iconic songs came to bloom, songs like Meltdown, Just Be Friends, and World’s End Dancehall were released. However, some people (my one sister included) were reluctant to listen to these kinds of songs as many of them sounded... robotic. As VOCALOID2 is one of their earlier releases, its quality was reduced to its time. Many songs sounded clunky due to their syllabic nature, some were dripping with autotune, some played like a storyteller with an instrumental in the background. Yet, it cannot be denied that there were some strokes of genius within. Songs like The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku were sang at a speed which humans cannot recreate, to convey how Miku felt as self awareness dawned on her: this is her final song before she was deleted forever. The Night ∞ Series was sung in a musicalesque manner, with 8 voice banks singing in a four-part series to tell a recurring mystery. Due to its popularity, it was granted a three-part novel with fleshed out scenes and far more content than that of the videos. It was also granted a manga.
Vocaloid’s most recent releases is its VOCALOID5, with its numerous improvements, such as functions of breathing, whispering and growling. Song production in the Vocaloid community have become more realistic: you can hear them breath in, take a gasp of air before singing a line, vocals thin out towards the end to mimic real vocals running out of breath, growls are used for maximum human effect. A particular favorite song of mine is a cover of the song Fairytale by cillia, which sounded so human to me that I had a hard time believing it was actually a Vocaloid singing it. In the end, it all boils down to preference. Some people are inclined to the iconic robotic Vocaloid songs, some producers still use that clunky style in tuning, but every song will still have that Vocaloid magic in every syllable uttered.
Now, remember Kenshi Yonezu? HACHI within the Vocaloid circles? Recently (or three years age, more like), he released a song: Sand Dune. Surprisingly, it was sang by Hatsune Miku, for a community he abruptly left high and dry on his songs. It tells a message of the Vocaloid community dying, of Miku wandering a sand planet with nothing but memories of fame and her loyal fans following her. He hinted that producers will always leave the community eventually, stolen up by talent searches to create music elsewhere. The song is a bop, but he couldn’t be more wrong.
While Vocaloid isn’t at its greatest peak, with songs topping charts at NicoNicoDouga and booming every week or so, it is nowhere near the dwindling state he sings about. You’d be surprised at how many commercials Miku is in, at how animated, hologram figures tour around the world, selling out concert venues to play the songs their fans made. The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra conducts an event called the Miku Symphony to perform Vocaloid songs annually. Prior to the pandemic, Hatsune Miku was supposed to perform at Coachella. Can you imagine that? Thousands of people possibly raving to the songs of a girl with sea-green hair, too wide eyes, and her lithe body when she eventually stage-dives into the crowd below and vanishes–oh wait, right, she’s not real. But she has been a growing phenomenon for the past decade, golden age past or not, this community will continue to thrive for as long as fans will allow it. Many see Hatsune Miku as an upcoming and sensational future pop icon but for the pop stars made by Vocaloid, produced by Vocaloid fans, the future has already come.

Step by step instructions to Improve Your Google Ranking with 4 Website Boosts
You've gone through months getting your business into the most ideal shape. You've planned and dispatched another site, sussed out all the inner working cycles, recruited the correct staff, and are at last prepared to take a gander at computerized promoting.
You've found out about site improvement (SEO), paid inquiry missions, and online media publicizing, however you concluded that those were costs you could manage without moderating your financial plan. You felt free to do your earnest attempts at promoting, posting naturally via web-based media, composing a couple of SEO-accommodating Web Development Packages USA journals, and setting up a week by week pamphlet.
Yet, following a couple of months, you've seen that your Google positioning hasn't changed a lot and understood that your advertising procedures haven't been viable. What would it be advisable for you to do now? A snappy pursuit carries you to this article.
Tumblr media
Welcome To Digital Marketing 101
Advanced showcasing may appear to be a minefield. Yet, by using the correct sort of tips and methods from industry specialists, it tends to be the best method to assist your image with development.
At the point when you first begin as a business, getting your name out there is imperative to be effective. In any case, with such a lot of online rivalry, doing that can be significantly more difficult than one might expect.
Website Design Services USA standing apart online can just truly be accomplished through profoundly significant and thoroughly examined substance and promoting efforts. Furthermore, we're here to assist you with that today.
Here are the absolute best site enhancements to support your Google positioning, assisting your image with getting in front of the crowd you've been attempting to reach.
4 Tips to Boost Your Google Ranking Make Your Meta Descriptions Clickable
Every one of your website pages will have its exceptional Meta portrayal – a scrap that shows up under your page title in the query items, laying out precisely what's on your page and why somebody should tap on it.
From a positioning point of view, these Meta depictions are quite possibly the most significant and most noticeable components to consider. Fundamentally, they go about as a little advert for your site. To pull in clients, the additionally captivating they can be, the better.
Keep your title tag and URL short. At that point, compose every depiction in a way that is both appealing and educational, stimulating the watcher's interest inside a 150-word limit.
Distribute Long-Form Content
Exploration has discovered that the more extended and more inside and out your substance is, the better.
Your Contact Page doesn't have to contain 1,500 words to take care of its work. However, a rich substance like blog entries or contextual investigations, which goes into profundity on a theme, is Google positioning gold.
Realness can increment for longer posts, with Google perceiving further duplicates as more pertinent than a more limited post that leaves out data. Also, the more well-informed a point is, the more certain and pertinent it goes over – two things Google searches for while deciding its rankings.
Design and format are similarly critical to long-shape content. Instead of having your duplicate as one huge piece of text, split it up utilizing pertinent subheadings that use the watchwords your intended interest group is probably going to be looking for.
Add slug records where you can, just as any helpful symbolism or recordings that bolster the data you're sharing.
The better your substance quality, the better Google will see it and the higher it will rank. Straightforward, isn't that so?
Utilize Internal Links
It's incredible to have heaps of intriguing, elegantly composed, and instructive pages on your site, yet without the right SEO procedures, no one will see them.
Guaranteeing each page has the correct subject labels, is all around organized, and includes applicable catchphrases is a certain something – yet connecting each page or post to different pages on your webpage can have a major effect on how Google sees your general site.
Inward connections help your crowd move around your site, and they help web crawlers comprehend what your pages are about and how they identify with each other. Search for freedoms to connect to your different pages and posts all through each page – however, be mindful so as not to try too hard.
Google's momentum calculation scours the Web Development Company in Lahore for the best quality substance that coordinates a hunt. Stuffing joins into your duplicate without reason won't just trade off the nature of the substance you've composed, yet it will likewise set Google's alerts ringing.
As with adding important symbolism or mixed media, just add connects to a page where they fit normally to upgrade the client experience. This, thus, will give Google's creepy crawlies a few delicious sources to dive their teeth into.
Make Your Website Quicker
In the present day and time of mechanical advances and high-velocity web, purchasers search for straightforwardness, comfort, and – above all – speed.
On the off chance that your site is delayed to stack, particularly on cell phones, you're not simply off-putting to your clients. Web crawlers don't prefer to send individuals to slow locales, by the same token. Google needs to keep individuals joyfully utilizing its item since it conveys the outcomes they need, which is the reason it positions sites in any case.
At the end of the day, slow sites mean something bad for your Google positioning, bringing about pages landing a lot lower in the web crawler results. This means fewer site visits, less publicizing income, and, eventually, fewer transformations – which is all horrible information.
