So I'm obsessing over Hazbin Hotel like all of the internet right now, but I've been a fan since the pilot and am caught up on Helluva Boss. I have a few things to rant about here.
1. ALEX BRIGHAM AND HIS OBSESSION WITH DEMONS. He's Beetlejuice in the broadway musical, he's Fizzorolie or however you spell his name in Helluva boss, he's Sir Pentious and ADAM THEE GOD DAMNED ADAM THE FIRST MAN In Hazbin hotel.
2. Husks voice actor is Keith David aka DR. FACILIER IN THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG!
3. Jack Kelly from Newsies on Broadway, filmed and put on Disney plus, Varian from Tangled the Series is Played by Jeremy Jordan, now if you're a theater kid you know who he is, you'd also be interested in knowing that he's LUCIFER that's right Lucifer Morningstar THE DEVIL HIMSELF
4. HUSKERDUST. I love this ship. Yes they are romantic and Vizzy has confirmed they are a slowburn relationship so if Anyone who interacts with me says they're platonic or found family I will be sending you to hell yourself
5. Alastor, first off he's canonical Aro Ace, just so ya know. Secondly he's such a good manipulator that he's manipulating fans into thinking he's not trying to fuck over the hotel and that he's not a villain. Which he is but he's still lovable. ALSO Alastor is Creole, he may have been white passing when alive but he's Creole and from Louisiana (I love Louisiana born men, my obsession with Leo Knut is proof of that) So just keep that in mind when drawing him. The transatlantic voice is something he would have learned, it's called All American speech and was used in Radio and TV, that's his voice under the radio affect.
6. The V's. Love them and hate them. I absolutely loth Val but at the same time Vox's screen brightens when he's trying to get Valentino's attention and that's really cute
7. Lute's Voice Actress played Elphaba in Wicked and her part in You didn't know is the absolute best part ever.
And Remember they're all in hell for a reason Sir Pentious is the only one who's truly good out of the Sinners

You know the drill... 407
Another sigh heaves out of you. Not only Samuel had been moody all day, you somehow forgot your charger when packing to travel. Even your portable battery had gone dry, all because you didn't charge your phone beforehand. It's pretty annoying to run out and buy a new one, but you really have no choice.
You'd better die than go blind from your information network for more than five minutes.
Because of that, the moment you dressed up and left the bathhouse, you were quick to leave the group in order to remedy this situation. Even if it's dangerous to go out alone this late at night alone, you don't think any of the Suwon would catch you... yet. Can never be too careful, but acting too suspicious would warrant unnecessary attention. Either way, you only plan to leave for a little while, there really shouldn't be any problem in the span of fifteen minutes.
Except for finding an open mobile phone retail store turns out to be a bit of a trial.
After thirty minutes of running around and searching, your mind goes into a haywire with the future separation anxiety you'll have with your phone. The battery stands at 35% at this moment, but it won't be enough to last for the remainder of your trip. Honestly, if you have the time, you would've gone to Coupang and gotten this over with.
However, as all hope is thought to be lost, you spot an Apple store around the corner. The burst of joy you experience the moment your eyes set upon it can only be called pure giddiness.
Your legs deliver you there before you can think otherwise.
"Ah!"
Though, really, why did you think your life can be that easy?
Ten meters from your destination, you're suddenly blocked by a large body. Your reflex helps you sidestep them, but then another one shows up and stops you again. Again, you dodge out of the way.
All until you realize that you're surrounded by a circle of large men. From the look of it, Suwon no doubt.
"Crap, seriously?" You mutter, running your hand through your hair in frustration. It's late in the evening, you only bathe a few odd minutes ago. Well, half an hour ago. You really don't want to break another sweat. Although... from your search alone, you probably need another shower when you're back anyway.
"Ha, boss! Are we really dealing with this puny—"
The knee you collide with his face effectively stops the goon from finishing the sentence.
Really, can't they see you are in a hurry? "Stop with the chit-chat," you sigh when your foot connects with the face of the one next to him, "you sound like s—" you almost say Samuel "—some two-bit villains."
It's a bit of a mess afterwards. Trying to stay clean while the blood splatters is a trial, but you guess you manage. At least, until the seventh and the final one you put your hands on. His blood vessels collapse underneath the force of your elbow. You step back to avoid his choked-out blood, but it fails to stop the damage from spreading.
You now have blood on your shorts. "Ugh, not the shorts."
Before you can lament the cost of your laundry, an unseen force comes up from behind you. "Stop messing aro—"
Unfortunately for the attacker, announcing their presence before attacking bodes pretty poorly on their side. You turn before the impact is made and find their leg sailing past you. Well, at least before you grab it and sweep the ground with them.
It is only when you throw him down on the concrete that you recognize that man. Unlike any of the others you had beaten the moment prior, his suit puts him on the higher-ups of Suwon. If only you can pull your phone out and check, you wouldn't be this annoyed.
However, from what intel you remember, this is neither Ji Changyong nor Lee Dosoo.
"Well... whatever."
Another sigh slips past your lips. The man has a meagre second to recover before you strike again. Letting go of his leg, you drop a kick on his stomach before he can get up. Another to the face. Then another. And another. One more to the stomach. Another.
You hop down from the body when he no longer responds with his grunts of pain. After nudging his body to check for consciousness, you stand up and dust your hands. For a moment, you almost pat yourself on the back for the quick clean-up. Only a moment, however, since you immediately remember what you're there for.
"Ah, crap, the charger!"
You hurry inside, ignoring the stunned looks of the store employees. Whether they have witnessed the fight or not, you cannot care less. You're there on one mission only and that is to find a new charger.
Normally, an employee would've come up to assist you. However, after what happened five minutes ago in front of their store, you don't think anyone is keen on annoying at that moment. Fortunately for you, your search is easy as it comes thanks to the sparse interior design of the store. Nothing says impersonal like an Apple store.
Pushing the thought aside, you put the charger at the checkout. However, before you can pull out your credit card, another hand slips a familiar card down on the counter.
"If you want to buy anything else, go and grab it," Samuel shows up dressing in casual clothes. Blue hoodie with complementary white shorts. If you don't know any better, you would've thought he was born in suits, but this proves otherwise.
You stare up at him, hiding your surprise as quick as it comes. "How did you find me?"
"...There's a trail of bodies outside the store," he says easily, "and we have our locations shared."
"Ah," yes, that. "Wait..." You lean closer to him, taking a sniff in the air. No doubt about it, you are never wrong when it comes to this scent. It annoys Samuel before, he has alluded you to a shark... a tiny pet shark, but a shark nonetheless. "You smell of blood, too."
His face twitches imperceptibly, "I ran into a bit of trouble with Suwon... they're pretty disappointing, though."
"Really, who did you get?"
He shrugs, "Ji Changyong, for all of that flair, he can't even swim." The answer makes you gape a little, only because of how disappointingly weak the number one of Suwon turns out to be. No—Maybe that's because Samuel is too strong for his level. Either way, that's not your problem at the moment. Indeed, your problem is another matter entirely.
You turn to the store employee, and a smile too sweet takes precedent on your face. "Can you get me the Macbook Pro—"
Samuel says your name in warning. Even if he didn't, the stare he hands you is one you cannot miss. "What? You said to grab anything else I want to buy."
"You don't need a Mac, you don't even use Mac." He deadpans. "Stop trying to spend money indiscriminately."
You humph at him in answer, "I don't need it, but I want it and you say to grab what I want."
"I'm retracting my credit card."
Immediately, you change your tune. "Dearest Samuel, don't be like that~" You hug his arm and give him soothing pats. "I will just grab a new pair of AirPods, okay? Please be benevolent."
He humphs back in return. You almost want to kick him has it not been him who's paying. Really... you're no beggar, but if free money ought to be offered, you're not going to turn it down.

Okay. So new year. You can do this literally whenever you like, but I like doing reflection and orientation for my life at this time, maybe cause it’s the weird limbo time before everything starts again. Life is short, and sometimes shorter than you expect, so I want to make sure mine is what I want it to be, despite and because of everything. Reflections below!
Family: Not going to lie, last couple months have been hard with so many deaths. Losing mum was the hardest by far, and learning dad has cancer isn’t helping. But! I am so so grateful I got to spend so much time with her before she went. I am so proud we kept her at home until the very end. I will never ever regret that. From this, I hope I can keep my patience and continue to protect and care for my family through all the hard times.
Work: I got a promotion I was hoping for when my boss unexpectedly left. It’s been going really well and I feel comfortable with the role while still feeling there is lots of room to grow. I am looking forward to the challenges and the growth that comes with that. I’m looking forward to maturing as a person.
Hobbies: I have LOVED learning new things recently. I was honestly surprised I enjoyed sewing so much, and I’ve enjoyed learning all the new things. I thrive off of that stuff. In terms of random, I have missed Mob Psycho. First fandom, and I haven’t found anything like it since. My passion for it subsided as friends lift it, but it still holds a special place in my heart and I’m just wait to find the spark again. I miss having friends to enjoy it with. In the meantime I have been enjoying the… comic sub-genre I have been enjoying, whatever it is. Go Villains are destined to die! I’ve gotten time to be able to draw more which has been a blessing.
Home: I honestly enjoy sharing a home with dad, but I am looking forward to having my own space again. I’m not looking forward to going through the process of buying a place again, cause it’s awful, but it will be nice to have a bigger place where I will still be close enough to dad to look after him.
Love: Have gotten more and more comfortable with being aro/ace. It’s nice, it’s comfortable, I don’t feel so much pressure to conform like I used to. I’m worried about my friend circle but generally I’m comfortable being alone for now. I have drifted away from a lot of friends because we were bound by shared interests rather than shared lives, but they are what they are, I am still grateful for the happy times they gave me.
Health: I'm pretty healthy in general and grateful for it, but I definitely haven't kept up with exercise with everything going on. Something I can definitely improve on in the new year, starting with walking.
World: While looking after mum I didn’t have the energy to think beyond that, so I think it will be good to think through how I can help more as I recover from that. I want to donate blood more, I was to volunteer and donate more. I will have to find where I want to spend my time and energy,
I look forward to doing my best in the new year. I hope I will be a better person come the end. Happy New Years to everyone.

I'll try not to share music that I picked up from AMVs because hopefully you guys know that Firestar's actual, factual theme song is Bones Shatter
(Below the cut is 10 videos worth of music. Most of my music tastes involve killing and stabbing and murder and biting, be forewarned.)
I wrote a whole essay once on how To The Blade by Everything Everything is the perfect song for Ferncloud and Cloudtail in the wake of learning that Ashfur is the imposter once, but then deleted it lmao. The song is about the limitations of empathy in understanding the actions of a monster, how you'll drive yourself insane thinking of everything you could have done differently, and the intense feelings of helplessness and shame in losing someone you cared about to extremism
It's lost a little bit in the Rewrite... though I am thinking of making Cloudtail Ashfur's mentor to preserve it a bit because I really sitting there and thinking about this song with them in particular.

For Brokenstar I imagine a lot of different things, Barbarism Begins At Home by the Smiths is a common one, but I also gravitate towards Goat by Man Man for how the whole song feels like a chaotic fever dream. Something about it captures the way his whole life feels desperate and overwhelming, like something is deeply wrong and he knows it, but can't figure out what it is until after he's dead.

And on that note, Runningnose, all his schemes with Brokenstar, his whole story, I literally can imagine the animatic in my head to Snuff Out the Light, the villain song cut from Emperor's New Groove. I can see the ENTIRE thing. God had to nerf me by preventing me from being able to focus on anything because the minute I can do one task for more than 30 minutes it's over for the entire world

I was wondering if you do nsft works?
If you do, could you either do a dom!hero x sub!villain or a powerful/scary villain paired with a civilian that (for some reason) can get them begging on their knees?
If you don't, then could you write opposing aro/ace assassins that are trying (and failing) to flirt with each other? (Like the troupe of 2 agents fighting but at the same time trying to get the other into bed)

Villain didn’t know much about flirting; truthfully, she wasn’t much interested in it because she wasn’t interested in the outcome, but flirting may very well be her only option if she wants to live.
Her knife is too far from her grasp, and Supervillain has her pinned down, knees pressed down into her skin.
“Supervillain.” Villain blurted out, breathing hard at the sight of her enemy’s own weapon. “I—I have something I need to tell you…”
Supervillain herself wasn’t much of a flirt. She didn’t feel romance that movies portrayed, and she didn’t care for other, more intimate things either. Villain may have been pretty, but she wasn’t an exception. Nobody ever was. But as an assassin, she had learned how to put on an act. And she had learned how to do it well.
“Oh? Are you going to tell me that you’re in love with me?” Supervillain nearly purred, her voice honey.
“Well…yeah.” Villain replied. A lie. Swallowing nervously, she steeled herself and looked up into Supervillain’s eyes. “I think we should be doing something more…fun…than this.” Her hands flexed from where they were pinned, and she realized just how far out of her element she was straying.
She wasn’t attracted to people bodies or what those bodies could provide for her, and while she never considered her lack of attraction to people a bad thing, her obvious inexperience was putting her life on the line—but as long as she could distract Supervillain long enough, she had a chance to get back out from under the other assassin.
Supervillain scoffed. “Why should I, darling?”
Darling.
Villain cringed, but she managed to force a smile onto her face. “Because I’ll show you love like you’ve never experienced before.”
Supervillain stifled another scoff, but she took a moment to consider the weaker form beneath her. There was no flutter in her chest or a feeling of love at first sight. She also noticed that Villain didn’t seem all that into it; other’s eyes had widened, and her hands shook, but she wasn’t blushing or showing signs of actually being into it. It was a little strange.
However, she didn’t get another moment to think about whether or not Villain was actually into it. She knocked Supervillain off and rolled back to grasp her knife, gasping as she dodged Supervillain’s lunge.
“Tell me,” Supervillain panted, grabbing Villain and drawing her closer, as if pulling a rope. “Are you actually into me?”
“Of course not.” Villain spat, and she pushed the knife to her enemy’s stomach, the blade barely cusping the line between what would break skin and what was merely teasing the idea.
Supervillain looked down at the knife.
Unfortunately for Villain, she wasn’t going to let her win easily. The moment the other moved the plunge it in, she grabbed her own and held it to Villain’s neck, smirking.
“Expected an easy win?”
Villain huffed. “One day, you’ll be the one on the ground.”
“And you’ll give me that good time?” Supervillain raised her brows wryly.
The two of them left at another infuriating standstill, and unlike the stories both of them heard from their bosses about enemies falling in love with each other, they both knew they wouldn’t experience a love like that, and maybe it was for the best.
All of those romances ended in tragedy, anyways.

kingdom (netflix) (kdrama) (GENUINELY the best zombie media i have ever seen in my life. barring train to busan maybe. the costume design is gorgeous and the camerawork is gorgeous and the characters are complex and multifaceted and the zombies are fascinating and the entire thing is a commentary on class and poverty. and it's set in medieval korea so they have to fight zombies with SWORDS)

oooh thank you!! 🥺 I'll share some random facts about a bunch of them!
These two? Found family :) The only ocs that have names so far unfortunely
Primary, the one on the left, their color scheme is formed by the primary colors, red, blue and green. She's pretty much, in-universe, a drawing that came to life, so they can break a lot of laws of physics because of that. He's really fun and energetic, very clever and sarcastic as well, they love messing with people but always in a fun kind of way, she's are not actually mean. Primary is genderfluid, ace and gay :)
Hellmet, the one of the right, they used to be called Beanie, but after their design changed I changed their name as well. They are a very scary monster and they partially love that, but they also don't want to be a REALLY bad person, so they always try to be very nice and polite even if it's always very clumsily. They do love being mean, just not too much. Hellmet is nonbinary (afab!) and aromantic
Important fact: they are both autistic
I really really love this bunny, I think she's always super fun to write or just think about her dialogue. I don't really know how to describe her personality... something similar to Pipimi from Pop Team Epic asdfghjkl down to earth but in a chaotic way. She's a trans aro lesbian :)
Pink otter ^_^ I love love love her. She really loves nerdy stuff and infodumping, she's really sweet and caring to everyone. She is definitely shy, she has her insecurities, but has a lot of supportive friends. She's really positive and kind to everyone, but she's definitely not naive, if someone is being a jerk she's not going to let that slide, sometimes the good nice thing to do is call out someone for being awful, not to 'forgive' them
She met her boyfriend in highschool, they were the kind of nerd/jock couple, but in a really really sweet way, the jock character (a kangaroo guy) is the type of 'i LOVE my girlfriend' kind of character.
She's trans and autistic :)
This muppet-like creature is really mean and evil but they are funny so it's okay. They are incredibly overpowered but it's okay because it's funny. They are mean and evil... kind of. They don't really search for destruction, just for entertainment, they LOVE seeing conflict between people just because it's FUN for them. When you are an immortal overpowered being you get bored, seeing your neighbors fight it's the one fun thing you can find. They create conflict a lot of times, but at some point they get super attached to the otter girl, she's like the only person they learn to truly care about.
There is no gender in this puppet
This guy is the leader of an evil army, he's the boss, he's a Bowser kind of character. This guy is super funny to me
So... he's a super powerful villain, and he's a good villain it's not like he's useless. But he is SO petty. Most of his missions are related to personal stuff: 'Oh my ex's kingdom is better than mine. Okay, I'm going to build this super cool laser in my own kingdom and use it to destroy a bunch of cool stuff from their kingdom'
He's kind of a jerk but he's a really nice boss too. He never treats his army bad and he pays them super well. There is a joke there that a member of his army talks to a hero and asks 'how much do they even pay you?' and the hero replies 'they don't pay me, I do this to help people' and the minion says 'THEY DON'T PAY YOU?! You need another job then, are you crazy?! This is the worst life choice I've ever seen'
He's honestly really nice to everyone at the end, if he captures a hero but no one comes to rescue them for a few days he feels bad for them and treats them like a guest

Imagine your typical hero and villain dynamic, that for years fight each other, that's their everyday lives. What if... they end up becoming a found family? What if the villain adopts the hero? What then
The idea of these two was more of a 'two animals in a forest are enemies' but it became way bigger and now the wolf guy is more of an actual supervillain, bird character is still very silly and normal lol
I care a lot about their development, it's meant to make absolute sense that the wolf would end up caring so much about the bird
Bird character is agender, aromantic and autistic+adhd as well. Wolf dad is gay

omg i felt weird abt sending that ask but i was hoping it would inspire some dumping of thoughts, hell yeah i relate a lot actually being autistic/adhd and a trans guy. which is honestly why i’m caught off guard by my recent izzy fascination. i think i’d be less fascinated if i was involved in the fandom and had been bogged down by discourse lol. like i fully HATED him on my first watch when the show came out a few months ago and prayed on his downfall but then i set the show aside for a while and rewatched it last month and since then i can’t stop thinking abt him. i think it’s bc i’m at a place rn where i find it rlly hard to connect to ppl, have to shove down my feelings to get by on the daily, i’ve have a bunch of very emotional ppl around me my whole life who i’ve had to manage things for, and bc of my autistic interest with character tropes starting from a super young age i sometimes have to work to see other ppl as archetypes of themselves rather than fully fledged nuanced ppl. so i’m interested in psychoanalysing him but not excusing his stuff bc he’s fr the most unhealthily coping person in the show which is saying something. but tbh i think if i let my walls down i’d relate to ed more? but the walls existing makes me relate a lot to izzy rn i think. but not that much bc like hey sucks and i’m gay. i will say i never got the repressed sexuality stuff from him but that’s just me. i read it more as him being completely repulsed by romance and emotion bc it stirs something in him he rlly doesn’t want to confront. idk i’m in my izzy hands blorbo era rn and trying to avoid talking to the wrong ppl abt it dbsnbd sorry if it’s annoying
Dude you're so valid. I hope you get better at letting people in and keep working on your empathy. I usually see Izzy kinning as a red flag but it sounds like you're relating to the fact that he's the only character on the boat who isn't in the found family and to the fact that he projects things onto people which you seem to be self aware of so ill let it slide. Onto Blorbo from my shows.
I suppose one doesn't have to read him as repressed. Although I don't think that him being a repressed gay guy and him being completely repulsed by romance and emotion because it stirs in him something he doesn't want to confront are necessarily so different. Either way the vibe is that he's scared or resentful of his own feelings for Ed. I've never thought that he was necessarily pretending to be straight or anything. This is all head canon at this point but to me I think he's probably willing to admit his sexual attraction to some men. (He knows he's attracted to Ed and would probably admit it if the right person asked him in the right way but he'd never even let himself form the thought "I want to fuck Lucius" much less say it out loud despite it being objectively true) But I that being said I think a repulsion to gay love, which we know he has because of the whole "He's done something to my boss's brain" bit (and all of the baggage that implying queer love is a corrupting influence carries), is still repression. I suppose if he's aromantic (I have seen that head canon floating since Con said that he isn't interested in a romantic relationship at the C2E2 panel) maybe not but Aro people don't choose not to love, they just don't experience romantic attraction. Izzy Hands seems to actively choose not to love, romantic or otherwise, because he thinks love makes you weak (if the way he treats a love sick Edward is any indication anyway). So IDK how comfortable I am with putting him in the aromantic category, just because there are so few aro characters and one of them being a man who despises love and is the villain in a rom-com trying to keep the alloromantic main couple apart isn't a great look, but that's a whole other thing.
But yeah avoiding certain people is a good plan because you really have to avoid certain takes. Because it's not like Izzy is Kylo Ren, right, he's not utterly deplorable in that sort of way (I know Kylo got a redemption arc but it was a shitty one that failed to actually redeem him and he was still a space fascist don't at me). He's just a fucked up guy on a pirate ship, if there was ever a place to be a fucked up guy it would be on a pirate ship. But if we're gonna sympathize with him we have to avoid certain takes and certain people. Like we just can't be pretending that he's not motivated by homophobia, we can't be pretending that Ed's abusing him somehow, we can't pretend that there's nothing to the reading of him doing some racist things, we can't pretend that he's some hypercompetent babysitter who is the only one getting things done on the ship (even if that's how he sees himself it's not true, it's proven wrong by the events of the show).
All that to say I guess he's a fun blorbo as long as you're not vilifying Ed or missing the point of the character. Probably keep avoiding Izzy stans tbh.

Oooh, these good ones! Ok, let's go...
CAN
First impression: I actually saw a gifset of TinCan before I started watching the show and it was one of those scenes where Can was like really shy about Tin flirting with him so I initially assumed he was like... one of those soft, shy lil cuties so I was jarred when his first scene came on and he was just a hyperactive monkey
Impression now: My son, my child, my beloved baby boy who I love with my whole ass heart
Favorite moment: This is SO hard to pick. Cantaloupe is a very good contender. But Imma say the moment when Tin and Ae are high intensity glaring at each other and he like, interrupts and is like "are you guys having a staring contest? can I join???" because that is the moment I was like... this is my favourite boy ever
Idea for a story: For LBC I wanted a story where post the 'breakup' Can like goes to China to be with his grandparents and when he comes back Tin is like lowkey dating some rich girl that his parents made him go on dates with and Can gets jealous. For ACTL, I want a story based on that moment where Can lies and says Ley is his girlfriend (LOL) and Tin continues to believe it
Unpopular opinion: Him being annoying is actually high-key a part of his charm.
Favorite relationship: Tin. Duh.
Favorite headcanon: That he's on the aro spectrum and is ace
MORGANA
First impression: Honestly, I loved Morgana from the very start. Like her calling out Uther in her very first scene was a stellar beginning for her and really set up her character in a great way
Impression now: I honestly love her still. Like she's a baller and a great villain, but tbh woman went OFF the rails in season 5. Like idk why she grew to hate Arthur so incredibly much and she did do a bunch of hypocritical things which bugged me, so I would say my love for her reduced past a certain point in the series
Favorite moment: Telling Uther to go to hell. Queen shit. I also love when she fights in Ealdor and goes "Reminds you of the time I used to beat you?" to Arthur. Also Queen shit
Idea for a story: I want a story where Morgana like builds up a proper villain empire and hires an assassin Merlin to kill Arthur. Yeah it would be a Merthur story but Morgana as a crime boss would be so good!!
Unpopular opinion: People blame Merlin for poisoning her but tbh she shouldn't have agreed to let Morgause literally murder everyone in the kingdom so it was kinda justified on Merlin's end
Favorite relationship: I do really enjoy her relationship with Arthur and the ups and downs it had, like I really wish we'd gotten more interactions between them after she became a full-fledged witch because their dynamic was so nuanced and interesting and could have been even better with more screentime
Favorite headcanon: I think she's still a baller swordsman and that she likely could still beat Arthur in a fight or two
