Hands down the funniest Amphibia AU I’ve ever seen anyone do was this two-chapters-and-dead story where the girls waited until the next day at lunch to open the calamity box, thus inadvertently scattering 1,200 middle schoolers over the entire continent of Amphibia. It wasn’t meant to be funny, but still.

And it only took 84 years :)
Marcy never liked her life in the castle as a princess, until the time she fell in love with Sasha -the fairy of darkness- vowed to protect the toad moors in the deep woods.
However life didn't go quite as well as the girls dreamt, and the King took away the young fairy's wings from her. Taken over and blinded by the rage and spite of betrayal, she cursed his daughter to an eternal sleep like death.

Title: The needed sacrifice
Summary: And Marcy will open up to him. Talking about her parents, about her life. About the move. About a special little box she'd found, unaware that it had originated in the very castle she was calling home. Andrias will store all that info deep down, ignore the yelling glee coming from the crown, and play his pieces. He loses. He wins. It's a little of both.
Excerpt:
The scouting mission goes terribly. Andrias sips his giant mug of tea and watches as his best newts get dragged in limping and holding each other up, scrambling to grab the walls for balance, or even on gurneys. It's about what he expects. It's a disaster. The Core is whispering about weaklings and disposable corpses as Marcy finds him. Her cape is a bit singed, her hair scuffed, but she's up and moving. A benefit of tasking his crew to care for her. "That cult went downtown, baby!" she crows, already climbing onto an impossibly large chair. She crests the top without running out of breath, used to the big furniture he had to utilize. "What's next, boss?" "Patience, Mar-Mar," he chides her. "Let your men rest a bit."
Tumblr media
Shouldn't've opened her heart over a game of flipwart, huh? This was a fun one. Dealing with Andrias' internal monologue while also dealing with Marcy's unwillingness to see Amphibia as anything more than a game.

[Podfic] twin flame bruise
Content Warnings: internalized homophobia, emotional manipulation, polyam-phobia (?), internalized ableism (ch 2)
Original Work: twin flame bruise
Original Author: nuttyshake (ao3)
Rating: T
Fandom: Amphibia
Relationships: Anne Boonchuy/Sasha Waybright/Marcy Wu, Anne Boonchuy/Sasha Waybright, Anne Boonchuy/Marcy Wu, Sasha Waybright/Marcy Wu
Length: 1:49:06
Format: Streaming, MP3, and Youtube
Summary:
So maybe Marcy had a crush on Anne. That realization, having come seven years in the making, didn’t hit her as hard as it should have, due to the fact that Anne was her best friend, and would never hurt her, and that the years she’d spent pining were proof she could keep her feelings at bay for at least seven more, anyway.
The issue wasn’t even that she also had a crush on Sasha. If the YA novels she read were any indication, love triangles were a fact of life - and though they didn’t usually involve a girl being torn between two other girls, books were becoming more and more diverse by the day.
No - the real issue was prom was only a week away, and she held two envelopes in her hands.

Anne rubbed her chin as she observed the crime scene, sometimes it reminded her of how she wasn't very fond of her job. By protocols of a detective she was obliged to maintain composure, stay focused, and not express any sorrow she felt. It did make her sad though, to see another soul lost. For this case in particular, however, she wasn't sure how to feel about investigating the corpse of Sasha's dead husband.
If he were alive she and Marcy might've killed him themselves. So perhaps it wasn't too bad after all.
Detectives Marcy Wu and Anne Boonchuy are assigned to solve a high profile murder case.
Unfortunately for them, a certain blonde suspect from their past has too good of a way with the charm.

Marcy was everything Sprig thought she was and more.
At first, Marcy was only an abstraction; brief mentions of friendship and longing from Anne, a distant goal that Sprig would sometimes forget completely, until he was again reminded by the sighs from the creature in his basement. Only a mystery he did not particularly pay much attention to, not out of maliciousness, but because of how intangible she seemed to him, so separated as he was from Anne’s world.
And then, quite suddenly, she morphed into something else entirely; a threat, something to stay away from, to not trust. One of Anne’s friends had just nearly killed his grandfather, and how could he trust this other one now, knowing that? How could Anne, even? Hadn’t Sasha hurt her? And yet Anne maintained Marcy’s innocence.. and how could he ever let her down?
And then, reality; a real, living, breathing creature, something that looked like Anne, as Sasha had, and yet different. Something from a world far beyond his own perception. The third of its kind, and still just as baffling, foreign, somehow frightening. Marcy seemed just the way Anne had described, yes, but was it genuine? How could he know?
But she proved herself a hero- even when he had doubted her so!- and she saved his life.
She was capable, smart, someone Anne said she wished she could be.
She was the mystery she had always been, even as reality. Sprig listened and watched, saw the way Anne seemed to shrink beneath the wonder of Marcy, the ebb and flow of their conversations. The way they broke down and rebuilt between themselves. The hum of a connection he saw only bits of, years and years of coexisting, which he knew hid beneath the surface. He wondered whether the two of them even saw it all for what each piece meant. He wondered if they saw only pieces too.
She was helpful, fun. Energy he could bounce off of, from which she could rebound from back. So different from so many frogs he’d exasperated for years in his life, unable or unwilling to tolerate him. Even just the buzz of existing in the same space as her felt energizing.
She was imperfect, so, so imperfect. She made mistakes like Anne had (by which, she unleashed disaster onto his family in the temple and within his hometown), but she owned up to them. She didn’t play innocent, like Sasha had.
And she was someone who looked at Anne with the fondest of gazes, like she was the entire world to her as much as she was to Sprig. Sprig knew the way Anne wedged herself into one’s heart, slotting into a perfect gap within a soul that one didn’t even know was there before she came into being. How could someone who loved Anne so ever be someone he’d have thought could have hurt any of them?
And as soon as she had become a beacon of trust, she was snuffed out. The being before him was someone else entirely. Something was entirely wrong.
She was a mess, mixed up in words that should never have fit together in the order she spoke them, unable to stop, unable to string them together in a way that kept their meaning.
She was pleading, begging, reasoning, hopeless. Trying to explain why she’d kept so silent so long.
A Liar. To Anne.
She pointed to him. Him. Her words came again, the ones that made no sense. As if he were something achieved and not befriended. As if he were not there at all, could not hear her. As if they hadn’t personally spoken so many times before.
And then she was crying on the floor, defeated. So different from the confidence she had exuded in excess for the weeks he’d known her.
And then, removed from everyone, quite suddenly, he was falling, falling, falling. And when he was no longer, it was Marcy who had snatched him from the sky.
She was a hero; she had saved him now twice from death. Despite it all. And she would save them again, conjuring the portal from that wretched box that she had unwittingly used to start everything.
She was an expression burned into his mind, just as fire now burned through her. Shock, terror, melting into regret, pain, muffled words hardly heard. She was falling, falling, falling.
She was a memory beyond a wall of light that shut him out from home.
She was gone, from his sight, Anne’s reach. Quite possibly existence.
Marcy was everything Sprig thought she was and more.
——————————
This is meant to span season 1 to end of season 2
Basically shower thought idea I made a reality I’ve never written anything like this before
Mini exploration/fanfic (if you can call it that??) of how Sprig goes from thinking Marcy will betray Anne and the Plantars, to trusting her, to the reveal that Marcy has been keeping these huge secrets from them the whole time, and so betraying their trust. ESPECIALLY when the way that Marcy proves herself to Sprig is by saving him, and in true colors she goes on to be all ‘I gave you this’ to his face. There’s so much content with the way that Anne and Sasha feel abt her betrayal, but her actions from the Plantar’s views are so interesting to look at, and are hardly explored (from what I have seen anyway)!! Sprig is 10, he’s a young kid, and this would be a LOT for him!! He’d be so confused and hurt too!!
Probably very very messily written haha

Title: The roads are all overgrown
Summary: Sprig and Polly reminisce on their lost sister while Hop Pop's mind slowly ebbs away.
Excerpt:
"Where's Anne?" Hop Pop asked from his bed. The frog had already asked three times, staring incomprehensibly at his teenage grandson. His features were sunken and squished down, making him seem feeble and easy to bowl over surrounded by his many blankets. Because, well, he was.
"You sent her to help Mrs. Croaker," Sprig lied (again), taking one of his hands and squeezing. The smile didn't quite reach his eyes. "You know how the cowapillars like to hide the bucket where she can't reach."
"Rascals," he huffed fondly. "Anne'll take care of yew kids. I taught her taxes, you know?"
"I know, Hop Pop," Sprig answered dutifully.
The door downstairs creaked open. Sprig took the opportunity to stand. "That's probably her. Be right back, Hop Pop."
Tumblr media
I will NEVER be over it. Ever. Fight me.
Also, it's so sad that Hop Pop really planned for Anne to be his like. Backup. You see a lot of it in season one. He teaches her how to file taxes. He tries to get her into farming. He imagines dying with her still there. I know most of it was because he'd hid the box, but he knew when he did it that Anne was a Plantar forever, and when the inevitable took him away she'd need to be there for Sprig and Polly.
I took some of Hop Pop's state from my great-grandma. She used to repeat a lot of the same stuff.

*nudges this towards you with a wordless apology in my eyes*
(The “AMPHIBIA” opening card shows, including the typical music, but then flickers and glitches with static that’s primarily orange and changes to show “AGAINST THE WORLDs” in the same font and color, but with the “s” at the end flickering in after a moment and in yellow instead of green like the rest of the title. The background remains similar as well, but now shows four figures standing beneath an archway rather than the CALAMITY TRIO fighting against an amphibian monster. The screen goes black as SPRIG speaks.)
SPRIG (echoing) No. Frogging. Way.
(Opening shots of Wartwood, showing the citizens minding their own business, then to the CALAMITY TRIO reuniting at the end of “The Hardest Thing” before showing SPRIG, POLLY, and IVY gasping as a bright light illuminates their faces.)
SPRIG, POLLY, AND IVY Whoaaaaa.
(IVY and MADDIE pack supplies in a part of the Plantar family’s secret catacombs.)
MADDIE What makes you think this expedition will be different? You’ve been at this for ten years and you still haven’t discovered anything new.
IVY I’ve got a good feeling about this time.
MADDIE You say that every time, Ives.
(The archway from the opening card shows, flashing from unlit, to pink, blue, and yellow, to a white background with four tiny black silhouettes against it. Back to the catacombs with IVY and MADDIE.)
IVY (holding a rolled-up piece of paper, presumably the map, above her head) Well, this time we have a map!
MADDIE Fair enough.
(The CALAMITY TRIO on Earth sit next to each other on a bench in front of DR. JAN’s museum, a big banner reading “CRYPTID WEEK” behind them.)
ANNE (hugging her friend with a smile) It’s great to have you back, Marce.
(The screen briefly shows what appears to be a working table with pieces of metal, computer chips, other computer parts, and blueprints with designs for various weapons strewn across its surface. A figure wearing a welding mask welds two pieces of metal together to form a long, silver, spear-like rod that looks suspiciously like DARCY’s scythe without the blade ignited. Back to the TRIO in front of the museum.)
MARCY Yeah. It’s… nice to be back.
(ANNE and SASHA sit in a mall, the former trying to comfort the blonde.)
SASHA (head in her hands) I just wish that all of this shit wasn’t so fucking complicated!
(POLLY and FROBO rocket through the sky towards something.)
POLLY SPRIG!!
(IVY and MADDIE, with a dark background, meet each other’s eyes. The screen goes black when IVY speaks.)
IVY Maddie, I…
(TERRI, DR. JAN, MR. X, and JENNY are shown, their faces with expressions ranging from worried, confused, shocked, or impassive, illuminated by the blue glow of a computer screen.)
TERRI Oh, they aren’t gonna like this.
(MARCY against a dark background, her face screwed up in a mix of anger and fear as she stares at something in front of her.)
MARCY LEAVE ME ALONE!
(The screen flashes through various, seemingly random shots of the CALAMITY TRIO, SPRIG, POLLY, IVY, and MADDIE, and a few others such as GRIME, LOGGLE, HOP POP, OLIVIA, YUNAN, SASHA and MARCY’s PARENTS, etc. It ends with POLLY and SPRIG sitting in the woods.)
POLLY What’s with the terrible puns all of a sudden?
SPRIG What, are they too punny for your liking?  (pauses) Okay, I see what you mean.
(More flashes of screenshots, this time ending with a black screen.)
SPRIG (echoing) Against the world, remember?
(A flash of a portal, glowing with pink, yellow, and blue energy. Back to black.)
ANNE (also echoing) Against the worlds.
(An orange eye opens, and a single chuckle from DARCY rings out before it fades to black one last time.)
ANNE Here we go again.
(Cue the cheap, flashy “WATCH NEW EPISODES OF AMPHIBIA AGAINST THE WORLDs, ONLY ON DISNEY” ending that pretty much every promo has.)
