as much as kassy deeply appreciated nicks comfort, how she felt safe in his presence, in his home; in this moment she truly needed her best friend. she had told nick she'd be fine where she was cuddled up on his living room couch while he worked in his office but the overwhelming anxiety would rush over her in waves. one moment she was fine, then the next she saw a bird fly by the window out the corner of her eye and the movement would send her back to her apartment when everything was moving too fast to concentrate and all she could remember was panic and pain.

her hand went to touch her throat, the mark of her stalkers hand long gone but she could still feel it every so often when she swallowed. the skin sensitive and she shuddered, pulling the blanket around her tighter. she knew octavia was probably busy but she couldn't help it as she called her. hey babe, octavia answered nearly immediately and kass' eyes stung in relief, even just hearing her voice. "hey..." she began though her voice was rough and quiet. what's wrong? there was concern in her best friends voice and it had kassy cling tighter to her phone, eyes closing as tears streaked her cheeks.

where are you? are you okay? she was then asked when she didn't reply. "at nicks.... o... c..can you come over?" kassy replied, voice thick with tears. as much as she wanted to just shut herself away, to hide in nicks bedroom and ignore the world around her and keep her loved ones at a distance like she had before, there was this time a stronger need for support. of course babe! i'm on my way. is nick there with you? she couldn't help the quiet sniffle as she nodded, answering with a quiet "yes." she wiped her tears as she curled tighter, heart squeezing as she tried to keep her voice down. she didn't want nick to hear her, he had things to do.

"i need you..." she confessed as she tried to swallow back the soft crying that had her shoulders shake. eyes shut tightly as she curled tighter on the couch, listening as octavia soothed her through the phone, telling her she was only a couple minutes away. exhaling shakily, she nodded silently, waiting as her heart ached in her chest until her best friend entered nick's home. casting her phone to the side, she sat up as octavia came barreling over to her to hug her and she couldn't keep herself together. arms tightened around her best friend as she quietly broke down in her arms, hiding her face as octavia did the best she could to soothe her.

Summary: Headcanons of Nicholas taking care of sick reader

A/N: I’m really fucking sick & i can’t stop thinking about it, so here we are.

Disclaimer: I’ve never really written headcanons in a structured way like this so idk sorry if they suck lol also i wrote so much who’s surprised

- Nick can tell when you’re getting sick before you do - maybe it’s a little extra sniffle in the morning or an extra subtle rasp in your voice before you take your first sip of coffee - but he knows

- He pretends to believe you, in your firm stance that you’re fine, but secretly tries to locate any medicine that may be needed

- You don’t even need to speak the next day for him to know he was was right - just the way your shivering body clung on to his warm one the next morning was enough

- He silences all your alarms and screens all your calls so that you can rest.

- Even if he’s got errands to run, sketches to draw, or plans with the boys, he cancels all of them for you - he doesn’t let you know that though

- The only time he does leave your side is to pick some mystery supplies & more medicine

- He stumbles through the door carrying a million grocery bags & quickly but clumsily kicks the front door closed to make sure the cats don’t escape

- He feels guilty for taking so long but the depleted half smile on your face when he brings you some gifts eases his worry

- He hands you a stuffie he found at the store that looks like one of your cats, your favorite flavor gatorade, and of course a giant bottle of water

- “Now I gotta go do something in the kitchen, but can I get you anything else first?” He insists

- He goes into the kitchen just to turn right back around to you

- “I forgot! I got this little bell at the store, if you need anything, just ring it okay?”

- You shake your head & cough, “You’re ridiculous.”

- He places a kiss on your burning hot forehead, “The only thing ridiculous around here is how you haven’t taken your meds yet.” And waves a strict finger at you

- You don’t realize that you dozed off until you sense each of your cats nuzzling into your sides then cooing when Nick enters with a breakfast-in-bed tray & a giant bowl of soup

- “It’s a family recipe, I grew up eating it when I got sick.” He shifts back & forth on his heels like he’s anxious. “I’ve never made it for anyone before … and I didn’t let it boil long enough, so if it’s not good I’m so-“

- You shush him and thank him with a big smile

- The soup is warm, savory and comforting - exactly what you needed. Even in your sickly state, you give him a little food-happy dance with a closed-eyed smile

- He beams at your response and you can tell how much he loves feeling needed

- “Anything else I can get you my love, before I go clean up?”

- You tell him you’d love not to eat alone, so that he brings a bowl of soup for himself and you spend the rest of the night watching your comfort show with your boyfriend and your cats 💕

i was gonna watch the vgk-dal game to bandwagon the stars but then i realized that if i have to see hertl in that jersey even once it's literally my last day, and also mike grier's last day, on planet earth, so.

Well here’s the thing, because a man and a masc woman are two different things. And being a man is not the same as being masculine.

I was a tomboy, because I was uncomfortable, and thought the closest I could get to manhood was being called a boy even though there was ton in front of it. Also because tomboys are cool. I transitioned and starting singing Disney songs around the house. I only use sparkly nail polish and I’m on a noble quest trying to find the perfect pair of heels.

I’m camp, and if I was a girl I’d be labeled a girly girl, not a tomboy.

So, why can’t I be a tomboy?

Two words, dysphoria and sparkles.✨

#such a good album it is Insane that like. you never really see it talked about outside of certain spaces #and even then it was originally derided for being much less heavy than its predecessors #such a smart album lyrically and even in just like certain songs like peacock skeleton with crooked feathers #which btw is my go-to song to introduce people 2 them #for obvious reasons. the way the vocals play off each other #the keyboard #aforementioned lyrics because man they’re good at writing political lyrics that are simultaneously very pointed and relevant to this day #and also just plain fun. the way they word stuff rolls off the tongue very well #which I suppose is very much in part to Whitney being a very literary guy from what I’ve read up about him #SPEAKING OF!!!!! Fugees have one of my top 5 albums of all time and they’ve been broken up since the nineties but they’re reuniting w/ Lauryn Hill to go on tour!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Except they’re skipping the entire US south which means I would need to drive 7-9 hours to see them even though this tour is literally a dream come true/once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Actually genuinely considering doing it but christ is that an undertaking…eeek
