Some Thoughts: I read this right after finishing the Rivers Run series while lowkey cramming for homework at 2 in the morning, but it left such an impression that even in my state at the time, I still remember how I felt. It’s just that good of a fanfic, and I’ve yet to read a fanfic that had a similar story or impact as Food of Love that was written as well.
The author put it in the summary quite succinctly: “the one where Jaskier channels magic through his songs, and it almost never goes as expected.” And it’s one of the most memorable versions of magical Jaskier that I’ve read to date. It’s just so good to read, and it’s so sweet because the Renfri and Jaskier dynamic just works so well. I did not expect it to work that well, but it does AHAHHAHAHAHAH.
