You have managed to come up with a fic where you get to play around with as many F1 duos as your heart desires. Which is your favorite? Is it also your favorite to write about?

Anon you've got me there because how am I supposed to choose? As Icarus now stands it has covered platonic Maxiel, Charlos, Brocedes, Slagclaren, Princess Cake, Dando, Carlando, Galex, Yukiel, Sebdan, Martian, Sewis, Valewis, Webbonso, and Buttonso, and that's not to mention dozens of other references to other driver duos.

I think my favourite to write is somewhere in between the top five there but in the end what makes F1 so fun to write about is this:

That is your teammate. That is supposed to be the first guy you beat; your closest enemy. But your closest enemy eats with you; you laugh with them and spend more time with them than your own family. You are one of twenty drivers who can drive the fastest cars in the world. Nobody understands what it is like to drive a current season Formula One car except those nineteen others. But the only one who understands what it is like to drive your car is your teammate. The only one who can understand you is your teammate. But they are supposed to be your enemy. In Icarus Maxiel says I would rather not be your teammate than to hate you. Charlos says I would rather be your teammate even when everyone else says I should hate you. Princess Cake says we might not have been teammates but we understand what it is to have been hurt and loved by Lewis Hamilton. Slagclaren says we were teammates, but I (Jenson) knew I could never be what he was to you. Brocedes is I missed you more than I hated you, and I realised this too late.

So how, Anon, am I supposed to choose?

Friendship AU?

I dunno what to call this AU but basically the "Evan/Cassidy/Gregory/Cassie are all friends AU." Anyway, headcanons be upon ye.

Every time Michael pranks Evan, Gregory and Cassidy prank him back but worse.

Like the time Michael woke up with pink hair.

But he can't prove it was them. Especially since neither Cassidy nor Gregory tell Evan when they prank Michael.

This is because Evan is a terrible liar.

Elizabeth joins in too sometimes, since she and Evan are 'partners in crime."

Evan disagrees about that part until Lizzie reminds him of the times he's distracted their dad so she could steal extra cookies for them.

Or when he's helped her beg (blackmail) Michael to play with them.

Cassie and Evan are both pretty sensitive, but while Evan cries as soon as something bad happens, Cassie's builds up until she can't hold it in anymore.

Evan and Gregory let Elizabeth and Cassie do their hair/makeup/nails/etc. Evan does it because he's a good sport, Gregory does it because they both agree to let him ramble about his robotics interests.

Not just for this au, but look at Gregory and tell me he wouldn't love robot fighting competitions like BattleBots.

Both Gregory and Cassidy have beaten people up for bullying Evan and Cassie.

They have movie nights at Cassie's house.

They have a rotation of who gets to pick the movie that week.

When they're teens, Cassie wants to get her ears pierced but she's pretty nervous about it, so the gang (plus Lizzie) go with her in support.

Gregory and Lizzie get their ears pierced in extra support.

One year for Evan's birthday, the gang pooled their money together to get him a giant build a bear frog.

It's bigger than him.

He sleeps on top of it sometimes.

Gregory and Cassidy both agreed that if Michael destroys the frog like he did Evan's Foxy plush, they're going to bury him in a shallow grave (they tell Evan they're joking but they aren't.)

While Gregory holds the high score in most arcade games, there are some he can't win, like claw machines.

Evan's great at claw machines, so he helps his friends win which ever plush they're having trouble getting.

Gregory would be the kid who climbs into the claw machine to get the prize.

Evan had to get William and Henry to unlock the claw machine since Gregory did that once and got stuck. (Cassidy was meanwhile, laughing at Gregory so hard until they couldn't breath)

Cassie is amazing at Roxy Raceway, and other racing games.

Seriously, none of them can beat her at Mario Kart.

Cassidy is the Skee-Ball champ, not even Gregory can take that away.

Evan doesn't really care about high scores; he just likes having fun.

On occasion, they'll pool their tickets together to get a better prize they can share.

Cassidy and Gregory aren't allowed to play Mario Party alone. They almost killed each other a few times.

I think the reason why Yellow might like Duck so much is because, oddly enough, he doesn’t always agree with the lessons and says so.

Per example, Jobs and The Family lessons. Duck who hates change, is unapologetic when it comes to confront them.

I don't know! I think Yellow likes him for a lot of reasons. Though I do think you're right that one of the traits he does like about him is his assertiveness. And ha! That is sort of true, isn't it? He even did it in the Healthy episode and it wound up biting him in the ass,lol.

I do think that Yellow likes that Duck speaks his mind, at least more than the other guy. But I also think he might like him because he's readable? He's easy to understand- relatively speaking. If he doesn't like you, he's going to tell you to your face, and if he does then he won't tell you otherwise.

You really don't have to guess how he's feeling or what he's thinking. Which has got to be nice, especially since Yellow guy seems to have insecurities on whether his friends like him or not. He talks about it here (assuming that his friends "hated him for being stupid in the head" ). Later, he assumes Red Guy hates him just because he says he hates their house.

It seems like the idea that his friends ACTUALLY like him and ACTUALLY enjoy being around him, both seems to be something that he has trouble believing or that never really sticks when he does have assurance on it. So in that way, I imagine he would enjoy being around someone who he knows is going to tell him bluntly and immidiately how they feel.

People have also pointed out things like Duck being the one of the three who takes action when things go wrong, especially when it comes to Yellow. Which I think is very sweet. He also has this funny moment in Transport where he comforts Yellow a bit in the clipboard scene.

I think he has a lot of reasons to like him and honestly vice versa! They're real sweet and I love their weird little friendship so much.💛💚

something something i have many thoughts on the deliciousness of jyn and cassian’s relationship being specifically about the... ambiguity, or if not the ambiguity, the places where it shirks and twists away from the modern hollywood play-by-numbers Movie Romance into something... earthier, messier, more human and intimate. like i don’t personally feel like we needed the kiss, or the infamous deleted wedding ending, as much as i would love to see it in the cut scenes, because i feel like what the movie provided us felt so much more true to character. because there is no kiss, no hollywood declaration of love, the audience has to look at the text as is and the body language and acting decisions and those are simply more insane than almost any other live action star wars couple

I was just rewatching an old Ranboo and Technoblade VOD from way back just after Doomsday, and I don't think it is possible for anything to be funnier than Technoblade and Ranboo both mutually turning into bundles of social anxiety and dancing around each other

i think heatwave’s favorite member of team prime is ultra magnus. and i know that the way i post might make it seem like he would prefer wheeljack or something but no, he is absolutely sold on ultra magnus and getting his approval. the sole reason for this is because ultra magnus actually has like a real job and has real work experience and parameters. heatwave might be chaotic but he does respect authority figures (to an extent). magnus is strong as hell and has very precise plans, even when it’s sometimes hard to puzzle out his goal, which heatwave respects the hell out of (hes the same). they’re both fiercely loyal, not necessarily to a specific sentiment but to a specific bot (optimus prime for both of them). also ultra magnus is in charge of a small but chaotic highly specialized team of bots and heatwave relates!! they have so much to talk about!! heatwave follows ultra magnus around with stars in his eyes bc look at his goddamn hammer thats so sick.

surprisingly, ultra magnus actually feels the same way. i mean his job description is “make sure these adults dont like light themselves on fire” so meeting a little dude who is just as crazy but actually responsible as well is SUCH a refreshing experience for him. like hes so used to weird guys that heatwave does not bother him at all but heatwave being a trained first responder with credentials and field experience is so soothing. he can hang out with this guy who is so similar to him but also a nice foil, bc heatwave may have a reputation for being impulsive but he still knows how to safely manage himself and others, and ultra magnus has a reputation for being very uptight but still participates in very dangerous activities. he just sort of accidentally becomes another father figure for him before he even realizes it. (optimus is SO jealous but doesnt want to say anything bc both of them are actually happy and comfortable for the first time in primus knows how long).

idk they both have similar personalities, they just express themselves differently. heatwave will do anything to get ultra magnus’ approval and mags will kill and die for heatwave. they deserve to have fun and meet people in different age ranges with similar world views and goals and thought processes!!

#one of the main things that got them started on bonding is their shared confusion over like social norms and expectations #ultra magnus clearly has no idea how to talk to anyone outside of a formal setting and heatwave cant talk to people period.#the rescue bots are all very confused about things that other bots seem to grasp fairly easily #some of the stuff they ask questions about are things that definitely existed on cybertron like pets or figurative language #same thing for ultra magnus #he doesnt understand friendship or going with the flow or doing things for fun #the rescue bots dont understand making their own choices or personal space or not sacrificing themselves #idk i think heatwave and ultra magnus would be a great duo #rescue bots #tfrb #transformers #transformers rescue bots #tfrb heatwave #transformers aligned #tfp #tranformers prime #tfp ultra magnus #ultra magnus #tf heatwave #tf ultra magnus
