When a drug dealer sells drugs to a child who dies from an overdose, people call for the drug dealer's head on a stick.
So when a landlord evicts a family with a child and the child dies from being homeless, why isn't the landlord treated the same way?

you guys know that "landlords are leeches get a real job" is a haha funny bit you say to illustrate the hypocrisy of the rhetoric surrounding work and what qualifies as 'contributing' to capitalist society and not a coherent leftist belief right? you guys are saying that because it's funny to watch landlords sputter to come up with a response to the kind of attitude they have always subjected tenants and renters to and not because you genuinely believe your worth is determined by the money you earn under capitalism, right? you understand that once you believe it is possible for someone (even landlords) to be a 'leech' on society if they arent working (or aren't working enough, or aren't doing the right kind of work, etc), this will bleed into the way you think of everyone else too, right? you guys know that legitimate and meaningful critiques of landlords are not and can never be based on whether or not they are working because that is irrelevant to the fact that they own property for the express purpose of charging other people for access to shelter, which is a basic human need and shouldnt be controlled by the whims of Some Guy just because its his name on the deed... right???

Every single time rent is withdrawn from my account I give my computer screen the kubrick stare and simultaneously cycle through hundreds of fantasies about becoming a terrorist. Then I distract myself and continue to fuel the disgusting Capitalist machine

Friendly reminder that landlords are in fact leeches:
Buy this hoodie in my etsy so I can afford my overpriced rent and the maintenance my landlord refuses to do.

"But the landlord takes all the risk."
Really? What's the worst that can happen to the landlord? The house gets foreclosed? They end up with nothing after all the hard earned money they put into it?
Well, that's exactly what happens to every tenant.
The landlord's "worst case scenario" is the tenant's "what's expected".
And I'm supposed to call that a "risk"?

Me, rolling up to my apartment complex's main office with a list of tenant's rights for my state: I may not own this property, but I'm about to own your ass.

landlords in general piss me off for obvious reasons but landlords for retail spaces specifically are so fucking dumb.
oh you have a business that's making enough money for you to stay in the black? you have enough profit to cover expense of materials, upkeep, & paying ur employees? well did you remember to put enough aside each month for ME, the person who ur renting the space from? who may or may not have even built the damn building depending on how old it is? oh so you didn't remember to budget in this fairly arbitrary amount of money to pay me each month (that is completely separate from the utilities budget) even though i am not doing anything to upkeep the building? sorry you're getting kicked out of the property now because u didn't pay me, basically completely unrelated third party, enough
what do you mean nobody else wants to rent my beautiful storefront space for my completely reasonable rates and now it's been empty for 5 years

also like adopting pets from rescues nowadays is so hard the applications are wild. “what do you do for a living?” male girlblogger “do you rent or own your living space?” neither, I leech off my mommy “if renting, can you provide written approval for your landlord?” my mommy wants me to get another little cat because she’s a little afraid I’ll kill myself if I don’t have a living creature depending on me “list every animal you’ve owned in the past 10 years and where they are now?” I do not think you should hold the now deceased goldfish I owned as a 13 year old against me, if anything they taught me to do extensive updated research on animal husbandry and made me value animal life. it’s a very sensitive subject to me. “do you promise to keep your pet up to date on all vaccinations and provide veterinary care?” let me put it this way, I tried to get my cat vaccinated against rabies again two months too early because it scares the hell out of me. I made my mom take my childhood cat to the vet for excessive sneezing and it turned out he just inhaled cat litter that day “pay the nonrefundable $70 application fee” actually I think I’ll just go check under dumpsters for my next cat

I hate my shitty landlord and his refusal to do any basic maintenance to my house so much that I decided to create several different unisex hoodies for my etsy:
The alternative texts are "landlords are leeches," and "housing is a human right."
