Let's not forget that this is one of the ways they transparently demonize addicts in order to keep the populace convinced that they are evil, horrible people that deserve to be locked up. They know that citizens will eventually start thinking "hey, they're really only hurting themselves, shouldn't they get help instead of being punished?" so in order to keep everyone comfortable with criminalizing drug addiction, they spread the idea that addicts have a secret agenda to turn EVERYONE into addicts, so they just *NEED* to keep them locked up.

"They're coming after our children! They're trying to turn our children into _____!" (Does that sound familiar?)

We need to go harder at humiliating these fuckers every year they keep trying to spread this bullshit.

Get rid of the new photo viewer. Put the tags button back where it goes. Get rid of the bubble around the notes. Stop stealing content from queer users while simultaneously flagging queer content. Do something about the porn bots. Fix the issue with pictures overlaying video previews. Stop giving us ads that loudly auto-play even when auto-playing videos is turned off in our settings. Let us permanently disable tumblr live. Quit making this website worse.

I was hanging out at the karaoke bar, chatting with a beautiful woman, and we were really hitting it off. I threw a couple of flirtatious comments her way. She giggled nervously, but abruptly stopped and looked at the floor.

She told me that she was too nervous to hit on people because she's trans and worries that people will view her as a predator and that she might get hurt.

My heart sank. I let her know that she could hit on me in whatever way she wanted and I would LOVE it. We spent the rest of the night hanging out and flirting. We ended up making out. It was great.

But I can't stop thinking about how that wasn't the first time a trans woman has said that to me. About how unsafe it is for some women that they feel the need to give out fucking disclaimers to have normal interactions with people.

We have GOT to make the world a safer place for trans women. It pisses me off that there are men at the bar who are openly predatory towards me without fear of consequence, yet a trans woman is too scared to even fucking call me pretty. And that's because she IS more likely to face worse consequences for lesser things! Like what the fuck!

You need to always check on your internalized biases. Being queer yourself doesn't absolve you of transmisogynistic thoughts and behaviors. Being bi/pansexual doesn't mean you don't hold those biases either! If you feel differently about a trans woman hitting on you than you feel about a cis woman or a man hitting on you, you need to evaluate that.

Trans women, I love you so fucking much. You should be able to express attraction and love as freely as everyone else. I hope you can always feel safe around me. And I'll never stop fighting until you can feel safe period.

Doctor prescribing pain meds: Are you sure you don't want to try diet and exercise first? These pills are so bad for you. Yeah technically the list of side effects for this pain medication is a lot shorter than it is for your other medications, but the thing is, they might make you TOO happy. And we hate addicts. I just think destroying your stomach lining and liver with 2000mg acetaminophen and 1600mg ibuprofen per day would be a lot safer, because you definitely don't want "happiness" as a side effect of medication. Not being in pain and being happy is just too addictive and addiction is bad.

If you're going to vote next year, we need to vote third party so we can to prove to democrats that we won't put up with their shit – because you know what happens if we vote blue again? We let the dems know that they can do whatever they want and they'll still have our support because "at least it's not a republican."

There's literally a socialist candidate out there who wants to break up the billionaire class, switch us to clean energy, fight racism, sexism, transphobia, etc and aligns with our views more than any other candidate has.

If we're going to organize a vote for next year, that's who it needs to be for. Not someone who is actively committing genocide. WE HAVE OPTIONS. Quit acting like we don't.

If we can agree that making fun of one person's appearance affects everyone with those traits, we can agree that using ableist remarks to make fun of people affects all disabled people. 👍🏻
