Between the Stars and the Earth
10,000 words!!! Now, for reader, I just use she/her/woman bc I do not want to change the pronouns lol
anyways much love <3
Warnings/extras: Chishiya might be a bit OOC, takes place after the borderlands, one curse word, mentions of neglect, Chishiya's dad is like 'ew foreigners' so careful
For weeks, Chishiya had been stuck in the hospital bed. He had never really minded being in the hospital, given the fact that it was his job, until now. Before, he had absolutely no care for people; As apathetic as ever. It was not that he hated being in the hospital, it was that he hated the people taking care of him. The nurses were annoying, but what did he expect from his father’s hospital? How ironic that the man who had never cared for him was now indirectly saving his life.
"Today, more news from the meteor crash in Tokyo: more survivors have been pulled from the wreckage-"
He shut off the TV in annoyance. That was another thing he hated: The news coverage of the accident. For the past two weeks, that is all that has been on TV. Did they not have anything better to talk about? Why were they still looking for people? He would have given up already. What is the point of searching for people after so much time?
His thoughts were interrupted by violent coughing from the person in the bed next to him. While his father owned the hospital, there really was no space, so he had to share a room with another man. Niragi Suguru, as he had learned. There was a nagging feeling in his head that made him not like the man, but he ignored it. He had never met the person next to him in his life. Why pass judgment on someone he did not know because of a ‘gut feeling’ of sorts? Even if he normally didn't like people, he never judged them before he knew who they were. He only judged them after he met them.
"Care to keep it down?" Chishiya said sarcastically.
"Oh yeah, sorry, your majesty, I’ll try to die quieter," the man said in a raspy voice.
His voice sounded like he had been smoking six packs of cigarettes every day for the past 10 years. The man next to him suffered from severe burns on his entire body. You could barely make out his face. Or at least that is what Chishiya assumed from what the nurses said. He didn't like looking over at his roommate. Of course, it wasn't his fault, but Chishiya was used to being on his own. He had never gone to the hospital as a kid, never got sick, never broke a bone, yet here he was.
A near-death experience. Why couldn't he have just died? It wasn't that he was suicidal by any means, but really, why did he survive over all the others? He heard of a little boy who died. Why not him? Chishiya had never felt any sort of compassion for his patients. He knew that most people would say it was preposterous that he did not have compassion as a doctor. But he didn’t. He had become a doctor because it was what his father wanted. Or at least what he thought his father wanted. Maybe deep down, he just wanted his father’s approval. He would never admit that out loud, but he had thought about it many times before.
His family life had never been the best; His family wasn't abusive, by any means, but his mother and father were a marriage of convenience. Then they had him to keep up their image of a happy family. His parents were always working as his mom was the head nurse, and his dad was the head doctor. They were always busy, and when he wanted their attention, just as any child would, they called him selfish. A selfish child.
"Can you not see I’m busy? You are a selfish, ungrateful child."
He shuddered at the thought and went to sit up. Pain shot through his body as he slowly lay back down. A stupid meteor ruined his day. They told him the building he was trapped under had shifted at the very end, and a piece of metal stabbed him through the area around his stomach. A broken bone, some minor burns, and fractures. He should have died.
"Don’t say that, Shun... You could’ve died... But you didn’t. I’m glad you're still here. Don't know what I would do without you."
He didn't know why he remembered that voice. He had never heard that voice before in his life. But it kept replaying in his head. Sweet and melodious. A warm kindness filled the voice. The loving tone almost made him melt.
The nurses had come in the day after they had been brought to the hospital and said that their hearts stopped for a minute. Everyone’s hearts had.
He was taken from his thoughts by the sight of a girl outside his room. A tall girl who looked to be around his age, with (s/c), and (H/t) (h/c). Their eyes met for a moment before she hopped off with her crutches and the other woman with her. Her eyes were dark, yet bright. Like pools of coffee, but with the sun coming in from the windows, they looked almost like a lake of gold. Pots of honey he would get stuck in. She was definitely a foreigner.
‘Maybe she was from somewhere else and moved here?’
Why was he wondering so much about this girl? She was just someone who passed by his room. He’d seen many people and would continue to see people till the end of his stay. So why did she stand out?
Probably because she looked different. A foreigner. There was no other reason.
But the tug in the back of his head seemed like it wanted to pull the back part of his brain to the front.
"Nurses should be doing their routine checkups right about now." The other man said, barely looking over at his temporary roommate.
Chishiya could tell that the man next to him had been very handsome before the accident. The burns on his face really weren't that bad. Chishiya just liked to exaggerate in his mind. Maybe it was because he did not like to look at his roommate.
“Yeah… they're an hour late. But I guess that's what happens when you have so many people getting sent here. The next group of people will probably get sent to the Saiseikai Central Hospital,” Chishiya guessed, staring up at the ceiling.
He would probably fall asleep for a while. Not like he had anything better to do. With that thought, he shut his eyes and waited for sleep to wash over him.
“Shuntarou! Come on, we have enough visa days, we don’t have to play any games,” the voice of a woman begged.
He felt a smile build up on his lips, staring at the girl in front of him.
“Fine, but if we get in trouble with Hatter, you're taking the fall,” He whispered, feeling soft hands grab his own, the fingers of the person intertwining with his.
“What happened to ‘if we go down, we go down together’ Shun? Don’t tell me you have second thoughts on what you said?” She teased, a sing-song tone in her voice.
This was a memory. He could feel how it was a memory, his head hurt as he desperately tried to remember who this woman was, and when this had happened.
He couldn’t see her, but he felt the touch of her hands. He could hear the sweet tone of voice. Who was this woman? The woman who plagued his dreams and thoughts, so close yet so far. Everytime he got close to figuring something out, the dream ended. Not this time. He wouldn't allow the dream to end without him finding out who she was. He needed to know.
“What’s your name?” He asked, looking around desperately for any kind of answer as to who she was.
“Shun, that's not funny… You remember me, don’t you?
He heard the sad tone of voice she had, and almost regretted asking his question. This dream felt real. But maybe he was affecting it, since it could be a lucid dream.
Yet something told him it was not one.
“Let’s talk more in the real world…. The real world…”
Chishiya woke up with a start, almost shooting up from the bed.
The words the woman had said rang in his head. The real world? What did she even mean by that? Maybe he had developed some sort of head trauma. Chishiya had never even believed in lucid dreaming. It was not real. Neither were ghosts or soulmates.
“Chishiya, I brought along one of my patients. I hope you don’t mind,” The nurse said.
He hadn't even registered that there was a nurse in his room, much less someone who wasn't his roommate.
“Chi-shi-ya…”
His head snapped toward the voice, and saw the woman from earlier. She sounded his name out under her breath, as if trying to make her mouth memorize the positions and sounds.
The scariest part of the whole ordeal was that that was the voice. The voice from his dreams. That haunted his nightmares of someone so close yet so far, someone he’d lost. He had woken up in a fit of silent tears like he had lost someone important. It felt like he had known someone and they got ripped away from him. Someone who knew him. Not like his parents, but someone who truly knew him. In most dreams they called him by his first name. Or some sort of nickname. It was always ‘Shuntaro’ or ‘Shun’, something no one had ever called him. He never let anyone get so close to him as to be able to use his first name, so obviously, this woman at some point had.
“If I may ask, are any of the patients here from the accident in for memory loss or perhaps something similar to it?” Chishiya asked as the nurse went over to his roommate, changing his bandages.
“Well, not exactly. Most say that they feel as if they were out of consciousness for longer. A lot longer than what they were. That their mind wasn’t even on this plane of existence. But of course it could feel like that when you're fighting for your life,” the nurse answered, quickly maneuvering her hands around different medical supplies.
That didn't answer his question at all.
She finished with his roommate and immediately went over to him. She helped him sit up, and he winced.
“I would rather you don’t open my wound back up,” Chishiya snapped.
He heard the woman giggle, and turned to face her.
“I don’t know what you’re laughing about,” He quipped.
“Oh I'm sorry Mr. My dad owns the hospital, I wasn’t aware that laughing at your bratty behavior was not allowed,” The woman stated with a playful stare towards him.
Somehow he didn't want to keep the insignificant argument going, and sighed in defeat. It seemed almost like she had some sort of control of him. Maybe it was because her voice was the one in his dreams, and he would rather find out what it meant than to make her hate him. The nurse got to work quickly, changing his bandages and throwing out the old IV bag.
“Where are you from?” Chishiya asked the woman.
“Why do you assume I’m not from here in Japan?” She asked with a smirk.
“Because you don’t look it. Your Japanese is really good however. Maybe your parents are from elsewhere and moved here. Or maybe your parents are from here and you just grew up elsewhere and came here. Whatever the case… You are a foreigner,” Chishiya explained.
Her sarcastic slow clap filled the room.
“Well done, Mr. Detective. Maybe you used to stalk me. Or maybe you're just really observant. Whatever the case, don't think that people can't immediately see through your act. Or… at least any observant and educated person could,” she said with a sly smirk.
He quirked an eyebrow at what she was saying.
“Oh, and what do you think of me then?”
“Come on dear, we have a couple more patients to visit,” The nurse mentioned, softly pulling her arm.
Her piercing gaze stayed on his own. Like God's judgment staring straight through him, seeing every single flaw, every lie, every single facade he had put up was now being seen by her. He didn't even believe in a greater power, yet she must be the angel of judgment sent down by a god of some sort. That's what her eyes told him.
And with a small wave and smile, she was gone.
Just as quickly as she had come, she was gone.
And with even the short interaction, he knew that she was far too good. The voice in his dreams and head, whoever it was, was far too good for him. He was standing above an ocean of happiness he could not baptize himself in.
He did not even know this woman, yet he was already thinking about her. She consumed all his thoughts. How pathetic.
“It’s nice seein’ you quiet. Maybe she should come around more often. She shocked you into silence,” His roommate snickered, before breaking into a coughing fit.
“See what happens when you laugh at me? You end up in pain,” Chishiya hissed.
“Worth every bit of pain then,” Niragi smirked, turning around in his bed.
Chishiya rethought his opinion on the man. He was rather annoying. Almost as smart as him, but it seemed he cared a little bit more than Chishiya.
There was definitely something about the man that made him seem tortured. He was probably bullied when he was younger. Although he looked handsome now, he had a nerdy dork feel about him. But Chishiya would keep that thought to himself.
He was kept in bed, as his wound wouldn't let him get out of bed. He guessed in about four more days they would have to help him do physical therapy. They needed to discharge people as quickly as they were receiving them, which was impossible.
Back to sleep? Or should he try to get up? He was bored.
Maybe the nurse would bring back that woman.
He really should get her out of his head, but he couldn’t.
“You know… we both just almost died. And it doesn't feel different. I want to say that it changed me, but really I bet the change will be temporary. I'll go back to my sociopathic tendencies and pessimistic self. Nothing will change, the world will forget about this and keep spinning,” He muttered, once again staring up at the ceiling.
He had been counting the ceiling tiles when he first got here, as every channel had just been talking about the accident. Couldn’t everyone just move on? He had, and he was a victim in it.
“I mean… I wasn’t a horrible person, I didn’t do much. I just don’t like people… Maybe you’re just like me. Maybe better, maybe worse. Who cares,” the man muttered.
Chishiya faced the man, and saw the wraps were only on one side of his face. Chishiya was usually really observant, but lately he had been so distracted .
“I had piercings on that side. So obviously, the burns are worse there. Melted metal. Doesn’t feel too good. This one though,” The man said, sticking out his tongue, “This one is just fine.”
Chishiya let out a small chuckle. Maybe his roommate wasn’t so bad.
That night, he dreamed again.
“You promise we’ll find each other in the real world, right?” the voice said.
“Yes, of course my dearest.”
He had never said anything like that before to anyone. Seriously, who was this woman?
“Please…” It came out in a choked out sob.
Why was he crying anyways?
“You can't leave me here alone and wondering who you are. Please just show yourself,” a broken whisper from a broken man.
A warm hand touched his face, softly caressing his cheek and drying off the tears. Since when did he cry?
“Shun… It is ok…” She whispered.
He looked up and finally saw a physical person there.
The woman that had come in the room earlier. He wanted to hug her, to cry on her shoulder to squeeze her and tell her to never leave him.
But she slowly disappeared, dissipating into nothing.
“You can’t leave me here! You can’t! Please, I don’t want to be alone!”
And then he woke up.
It was still dark out, and his roommate was still asleep. He wiped the tears from his face, and got out of the bed slowly.
It didn’t hurt as much right now, so he walked over to the door. It was quiet. The patients were asleep, and the nurses were in front at the station. He limped slowly, dragging his IV stand with him.
There at the end of the hallway he saw her.
“Oi, foreigner,” he whisper shouted down the hallway.
She turned around to face him, and gave a smile. He could have collapsed right then and there, but limped closer.
“So what brings you out of your room at this hour?” She asked, turning to look out the window.
He did the same, looking out at the stars with the woman.
“Just wanted to leave that horrid room. I’ve been stuck there since I got here two weeks ago. Bed rest, but I feel better,” he explained.
“You look like you've been crying.”
Of course she just had to know that he had been crying. Couldn’t she be less observant?
“It's none of your business, foreigner,’’ He whispered, staring out the window intensely avoiding her eyes..
He could feel them drilling holes into the side of his head, and wondered how much she would see if they had a staring contest.
“My name is not foreigner you know,” She laughed, fixing the crutches under her arms.
“Well, I’m no mind reader,” He scoffed.
“And I don't trust you to give you my real name,” She stated.
How annoying.
“Well then, I guess you’re stuck with foreigner until you trust me,” Chishiya stated, acting completely disinterested. But he really wanted to know her name.
“How about you call me…. Something having to do with a flower,” She suggested.
“No chance foreigner,’’ Chishiya laughed, shaking his head at the woman next to him.
She pouted and shook her head, her hair moving with the motion.
“Call me…. Wisteria,” She mentioned after thinking for a minute.
Wisteria. The symbolism behind the flower was that it kept away demons and evil spirits. A beautiful flower, but oh how dangerous it was. Poisonous to humans and animals if consumed. What was she trying to tell him about herself?
“I'll call you what I want, foreigner,” Chishiya snickered, starting to limp back to his room.
“Fine then. Good night daddy’s money,” She giggled.
He turned with a face that read pure disgust and confusion.
“Don’t like your dad, alright I'll add that to the list. Good night Chishiya, I'll see you around,” She said, making a mental note.
“.... Good night star girl,” He hesitantly said back.
He heard the woman giggle softly behind him, and then heard the sound of walking with crutches going up the hallway, opposite of the way he had to go. The sound got quieter and quieter, until he couldn't hear her anymore. Then he was left alone with the deafening sound of silence in the hallway. The lights in his section were off, the only light being the moonlight, and the occasional person who was up.
He got back to his room, and softly placed back the IV stand, getting back into his bed. The bandages were surprisingly still pretty tight. The first time he hadn’t had to adjust his own bandages. Maybe this nurse was finally learning how to wrap bandages. It probably wasn't her fault, like maybe she was just a student and they put her to take care of all these people. Right now it was kind of all hands on deck. But she looked too old to be a student. It was probably the stress of having so many patients to take care of. Or it could just be that she was really bad at wrapping bandages.
As a whole world of thoughts passed through his head, one in particular stayed. Why was he dreaming of this woman in the first place? It was probably the fact that this was the first time he had met her, and she stuck out to him. Somehow that wiggled its way into his consciousness. Yeah, that's it.
Was there anything in a hospital to do besides sleep and count tiles on the ceiling? When he was a doctor, prior to the accident, there was always something for him to do. He was always busy. But now he knew why some patients would rather have stayed home than be in the hospital for weeks on end. The same four white walls, the same people checking in on you. This was the most boring experience he’s had in a while. Compared to this, piano seemed like the most fantastical and exciting thing he had ever done.
He had never slept this much. It was most likely because his body needed rest to heal. Chishiya hated sleeping. He always had so much he needed to do that staying stagnant for so long seemed counterproductive. He had this mentality all throughout his childhood, and college. Why sleep when you could finish the project due in three weeks? Why take a break when you can work on your thesis?
And now there was nothing. Absolutely nothing to do. He itched to get better, so he could do something, anything. He would even volunteer to help at the hospital. Well, when he got better, he would be working in the hospital again, so he would just come back here.
The night sky turned to a canvas full of color. The pastels lit by the golden light from the sunrise. He hated windows.
He was filled with a lot of that lately. Hate. He hated the hospital, he hated his dreams, he hated the way the nurse wrapped his bandages, he hated his roommate. He got a second chance at life, and all he could think about was everything that he hated.
And that woman.
What had he called her? Star Girl?
‘Well, she likes staring up at the stars obviously, but she is still staying with the name foreigner until she tells me her real name.’
He heard his roommate’s bed creak, and looked towards him. The man was awake, and tried to stretch before remembering his burns.
“This sucks,” His roommate said, laying back down.
“For once we agree on something,” Chishiya said with a small chuckle.
He looked towards his IV bag and sighed. It was almost empty. His roommate’s IV bag was empty. That could be dangerous. He pressed the call button with a sigh.
“The nurse at this hospital… They really don't check in at night. They're supposed to. Someone could die overnight. But my father doesn’t really hire experienced nurses. He hires the ‘pretty ones’, straight out of college. Most of the older nurses are in the elderly care ward. Far away from the other patients. Doesn’t anyone besides me find that weird?” Chishiya ranted, before remembering the person in the room.
The other man simply laughed. It ended in another coughing fit, but Chishiya didn’t mind it this time.
“Let us see how long it will take. I know not many people are awake at dawn, so they should be pretty quick,’’ Chishiya explained.
His experience working at this hospital was coming in handy. Maybe they would rush because his father owned the hospital. He hated using his father’s influence, but he would rather not deal with a dead roommate, or worse, a new one.
To his surprise someone opened the door about five minutes later. Only it wasn't a nurse, it was the foreigner.
“The nurses were all either asleep or getting here. They said they didn’t want to deal with someone complaining first thing in the morning… I saw it was your room and remembered how low your IV bag was last night,” She mumbled, a blush growing on her face.
“Woah, what were you two doing last night?” His roommate asked with a short laugh.
Chishiya felt the tips of his ears grow warm at his roommate’s insinuation.
“Oh we just talked out in the hall. Nothing weird,” She laughed.
She pushed in the cart that had some supplies into the room. It took her a while with her crutches, but she got the cart in without dropping anything. Her height gave her a disadvantage, but he was really impressed. She went over to the sink on the far right wall, closest to his bed to wash her hands. Once she was done, she put on some gloves. Did she have medical experience?
She quickly went over to his roommate, noticing his IV was empty. She made a face of shock, turning to Chishiya.
“Is that not dangerous?” she asked, quickly taking the bag down, replacing it with a new one.
Chishiya nodded, and watched as she undid Niragi’s bandages softly. He winced, and she apologized. She used fresh bandages, and wrapped them tightly.
She hopped over to the sink in the room, taking her gloves off, and washing her hands again. As she was putting on fresh gloves, Chishiya wondered if she had been having the same weird dreams he had.
“So, since you've been here, have you had any weird dreams?” Chishiya asked, sitting up.
Her hands worked quickly, changing his bandages. She did much better than the nurse. And she was a lot faster.
“Umm… Describe what you mean by weird?” She responded.
“Like… with someone in them that you can’t see. Someone that seems familiar, the dream seems like a memory, but you can’t remember when it happened or who the person is,” He explained.
By the look on her face, he could tell that yes, she had been having those dreams. She moved away, and began changing his IV. The bandages were snug, but not uncomfortable. Perfect. She definitely had some sort of medical background.
“That is such a weird thing to ask about. Oddly specific,” Niragi coughed out, turning in his bed to look over at both of them.
“It’s alright. I don’t mind answering,’’ She said before turning her attention to Chishiya. “I have been having dreams like what you described. I’ve never seen the man’s face. His voice sounds like I should remember… But I never do. Actually, his voice sounds like yo- Um… never mind.”
His voice sounded like what? Maybe it was a celebrity.
‘She was obviously going to say you.’
He rid his head of that thought. It seemed almost like fate that her dreams were the same as his. He had asked his roommate multiple times before about his dreams. Niragi had never had dreams like that.
It was just a coincidence. Nothing more, nothing less. Soulmates weren’t real.
‘Who ever said anything about soulmates?’
He added something that he hated to the list: His own brain and thoughts.
“Well, I’ve finished here, I better go to the next room,” She said.
Chishiya noticed how tired the woman looked. She had dark circles under her eyes and was struggling to keep them open as she stood. Had she really not been able to sleep? Or was she doing the nurse's jobs at night?
“It is not your responsibility to do their jobs. You look exhausted. Why don’t you stay here for a while, you should be resting your leg. Overworking your leg, even with the crutches, is bad for you. So sit here, and take a break,” Chishiya ordered, grabbing her arm.
She looked almost shocked.
“Doctor’s orders,” Niragi snickered.
The woman only sighed, before sitting down on the edge of Chishiya’s bed. He rolled his eyes. She was trying to make herself as small as possible.
“You can lay down, you know,” Chishiya whispered, moving over to make room for the woman.
She barely wasted any time in doing so, making sure she didn't take up much space next to him.
“At least take me on a date before you ask me to sleep with you,” She laughed.
That laugh sent a shiver down his spine. He wasn’t scared, no, quite the opposite. It filled the room with the warm brightness only the sun could give. She reminded him of the one day his parents took him out into the countryside. Of course it was not a cute family road trip. It was all business and for appearances, but the sunshine really was better out there as opposed to the sunshine in the city.
By the time he looked down to say something to her, she was sound asleep. He looked over to his roommate, and found him to also be asleep once more. There really was nothing better to do. He felt his breathing slow and match the pattern of the woman next to him. Soon, he was also falling asleep.
He was woken up by hushed arguing. His eyes opened slowly, and saw the usual nurse giving the woman a scolding.
“He pressed the call button. Half of your staff was asleep, the other half did not want to deal with it. Someone could have been in a seriously dangerous situation. No one stepped up, so I did,” the foreigner hissed.
“You are not a trained medical professional. You can not be inserting IVs and changing bandages. If the owner of the hospital found out he’d-”
“He’d probably fire you for your negligence and hire me for helping and taking care of his son. Even if the man doesn't care about him, he cares about appearances. Now either you train your staff correctly, or I write a complaint. They could have been dying and you and your staff could have cared less,” The woman interrupted, the venom in her tone evident.
The nurse was left speechless, and so was Chishiya.
“I'll take my leave. Come on, you have to head back to your room,” The nurse said, taking her arm to lead the tall woman out.
“I want her to stay,” Chishiya blurted.
Both the nurse and woman turned to look at him. The nurse looked shocked, as if what he had just said was the most preposterous thing anyone had ever said. The woman, Star Girl, as he had called her, looked happy. He had almost regretted saying what he did, until he saw her smile.
“There’s no reason for her to leave really. You take her around with you all the time, so what difference does it make if she stays here with me?” Chishiya explained, a sly smirk working its way onto his lips.
The nurse was at a loss for words. She stammered and just put her hands up in defeat.
“Fine. Do as you please. Run the whole hospital for all I care,” She spat.
“Well, I will in a year or two so don’t worry. You’ll be the first to know, trust me,” Chishiya said with a smirk.
To the woman, it looked like the smirk of someone who thought they knew better. Except she knew that Chishiya really did know more than the nurse at that moment. Even if they hadn’t talked much, she could tell that he was smart.
The nurse left and the pair started laughing. Chishiya had never really laughed with other people. This was nice.
But he couldn’t let himself get distracted. If he let his guard down, she could come in. How could one person be working away at his walls? So many others had tried, failed, and cried. Yet she was patient. Taking down one brick at a time, and making sure he was ok with it being gone. And she had barely known him for more than a day.
“You remind me of my favorite flowers,’’ The woman said.
“Is that your pick up line for all the guys?” he joked, looking over at her.
“Nope. Just you,” She laughed.
That brought a flutter of feelings into his head. Was he delusional? High off pain meds? What was this? He had never been a chatty person. He kept to himself most times, and had never had friends growing up. To him, it was a hassle. Why have friends? In his opinion it was a waste of time.
“Let's be friends,” She said, extending her hand out to him.
He hesitated. And she noticed.
“You’ve never had friends, have you? Well, it makes sense,’’ she said.
“And what is that supposed to mean? I’m a little offended by that,” he mumbled, a bit embarrassed she was able to tell so quickly.
“I can just tell. It is really easy for me,” she answered.
Now he was really curious. How could she tell just by looking at him? What had she done prior to the accident?
“What did you do? You know like… before all of this,” He questioned.
“I was a psychology student. I'm actually in my final year of work study. Which means by next year, I’ll be a full fledged psychologist. I can read people easily,” she shrugged, as if it was normal to look into his eyes and read his whole life story off to him.
“Ah, so you're a psychologist… And read people easily? Try reading me then,” Chishiya snickered, trying to see how far she would go in testing her skills. She was definitely just bragging. There was no way she actually could.
“Well, let's see… You're an only child, definitely emotional neglect from your parents, you're kind of a loner, but people don't look at that much because you're a prodigy. People annoy you, you don't actually have a passion for being a doctor, you just did it for the approval of your father, or maybe to find out what these so-called ‘emotions’ were. News flash: You accomplished neither. You're a gifted child for sure, you just haven't exhausted yourself to the point of burnout because you never received praise. It was just expected of you to actually do well. Success comes easy for you, you never have to try. You probably have sociopathic tendencies, or maybe antisocial personality disorder. Not enough to be a killer, but just enough to not care about others, and put yourself above them. How did I do?”
The blonde stared in shock, blinking as if trying to process what she had just said. Why did she have to be a psychologist? She could have been another doctor, a game developer, an influencer. Anything would be better than a psychologist. Or at least one as attentive as her.
“You did fine I guess,” He shrugged, acting as if he wasn’t bothered.
“Oh so I was right on the nose? Got it. You're so easy to read. Like a kid’s book,” She giggled, shaking her head softly.
He just now noticed how everytime she moved, her hair would move with her. It was almost like a trap to stare. He felt very compelled to do so. He was trapped in her spell
“Anyways, friends?” She asked once more, sticking her hand out towards him again.
“Friends,” He said, grabbing her hand and shaking it.
The rest of the hospital stay shouldn’t be that long anyways. He could just leave and never see this mystery woman ever again. But a part of him said that he would hate that. He would really hate that.
It wasn’t too long until his roommate was able to walk around and not sound like he was on the brink of death every time he laughed. And it wasn’t too long until the mystery woman started feeling familiar to him. She started to feel like comfort and all the warm feelings of home. But not his home, a home he had only ever heard of in the stories, seen in movies, and observed on the streets. She started feeling like a fantasy. Not entirely real, but not entirely fake either.
“You're such a downer Shun,” She giggled, trying to maneuver her way around all the people in the hallway, a difficult task with her crutches.
Shun. That’s what she had been calling him. That and variations of his first and last name. Shiya,‘Taro, Shun. All of them were a variation of his name. And all of them were what the woman in his dreams had called him. Which brought his head to another set of thoughts: He had not had any dreams having to do with the mystery woman. After he started talking to her, they stopped.
Then back to the nicknames. He still did not know her name. She wouldn’t budge.
“Names have power,” she would say.
But she knew his name, and not once did he object. He just didn't understand her. Which is probably why they got along. She was so different from what he was used to. Most people that talked to him were annoying, and he hated hearing their voices. He could listen to this woman talk for hours and he would never tire of it.
“It is true. There is no such thing as soulmates. It is just some lie that lonely people came up with to feel better about themselves. That there is one person destined for you seems so stupid. I think you're a damn idiot if you think that soulmates are real,” He scoffed, helping her walk with her crutches.
“I think you're one of those lonely people who try to deny soulmates because you're alone. How’s that for a theory hm? What do you think of it Chishiya Shuntaro?” She said back, saying his name in a sing-song tone of voice, a sly glance getting thrown over at him.
“I think you're an idiot,” he said with a small smile.
His smiles were rare. Or at least real smiles. Real smiles were reserved now solely for this woman. The only one who could actually make him laugh. He thought it was weird. To him it was so weird how he trusted her and let her in. He had never felt that way before. She was so strange.
“Shuntarou, who is this?”
He froze. That was not a voice he was expecting to hear. Not now. Maybe in a year or couple months, but not now.
“...a friend sir,” he said, his demeanor completely changing.
It went from a comfortable air around him to a tense and strained aura.
The air around him felt thick. He couldn't breath, almost like the air got knocked out from his lungs.
“A friend? Those are only distractions from your work, Shuntarou,” the much older man stated harshly.
The woman next to him, of whom he had never seen silent, was now looking down as quiet as a church mouse.
There went his support.
“Of course. But she has been helping me with my work. The relationship is purely work related. Foreigners, father. They call everyone friends,” Chishiya stated.
The woman next to him was hurt by those words.
“A foreigner? Really, I can’t believe that after everything I’ve taught you, you have decided to make ‘friends’ with a foreigner,” the man, now revealed as Shuntaro’s father, hissed, pointing a finger at the woman.
“I-I’ll just leave,” she mumbled, turning to go back to the room.
“Hey, you don’t have to- please. Please don’t leave,” he mumbled to her, quietly so his father wouldn't hear, grabbing her hand to stop her.
She pulled it away.
“You shouldn’t be talking to a foreigner, much less touching one, now should you Chishiya?” She said, her voice cracking.
He watched her walk away, almost chasing after her. But he let her be.
“I just came for a routine check. It’ll look bad for the media if I don’t. I didn’t even know you were here,” his father stated.
Like that made him feel any better.
“Of course. I must head back. Work. Even though I’m still here, I have to stay ahead. Goodbye father,” Chishiya said with a bow towards his father.
Walking back, he looked around to try and see if he could find the woman. She would have stood out.
When he was back in his room he asked Niragi if he had seen her.
“No. Thought she was with you?” Niragi responded, sitting up.
Chishiya cursed under his breath, and thanked his roommate, who looked just a bit concerned at the fact Chishiya didn't know where she was.
Chishiya walked back out, pretending that he was totally calm. Internally he was freaking out.
“It’s fine. She can't leave, she has to stay in the confined area of the hospital. Nothing worse could happen,” He muttered to himself, watching what was going on around him.
“Power surges from the crash have started happening in Tokyo and surrounding prefectures. Businesses are warned to get a backup-”
The voice from the TV was all of a sudden shut off. The sound of wiring of lights powering off could be heard.
This sent the nurses into a panic.
Chishiya remembered what she had said the other night.
“Umm… ‘Taro, can I stay here tonight?” she asked, fidgeting with the strings of her hoodie. She was able to get out of the hospital robes and into some civilian clothing
“Yeah, sure. I don't mind. Why though?” he had responded, watching her face flush in embarrassment.
“I… I don't like the dark. The nurses always turn off the lights in the hallway, and my phone is out of battery,” she explained, embarrassment filling her face.
“Oh… I don't mind either way, so… get comfortable.”
She was alone. And it was currently dark. He knew how suffocating the darkness could get at this god forsaken hospital.
Now he was panicking a little more than he was previously.
“Stupid meteor. Ruining my day, and still continuing to ruin everything,” he cursed, walking briskly down the hall with his hands in his pockets. A habit of sorts he got into when he was in med school. This way it was easier and he wouldn't crash into others as often.
He looked in her room, only to find her roommate.
“She might be in the library. This has got to be one fancy hospital to have that. My name is Kuina Hikari, by the way,” She introduced, pointing down the hall.
He nodded, thanking her for the information, before speeding in the direction of the library.
He had forgotten this was here, otherwise he would have spent his time reading instead of sleeping.
He opened the door, and saw no one. It was utterly quiet. No sound at all. Then he started to listen closely. He heard a small noise coming from the back of the library. It sounded like crying.
He moved towards it, rushing past stacks of books. The sound got louder and louder as he got closer.
“Hey, Star girl, are you here?” he called out, hoping she’d answer back.
“L-leave me alone.”
The voice came from a dark corner. She sounded like she was in pain.
That's when he noticed that her crutches were thrown on the floor, but her physical self was not near them.
He looked over in the direction the crutches were strewn, and saw her sitting on the floor. The bandages on her leg were stained red with fresh blood. He rushed over, sitting beside her.
Surprisingly, she was the one who initiated contact. She enveloped him in a tight hug, her tears staining through his shirt. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her. He had never had to comfort anyone before. He had never been comforted himself, so how would he know how to comfort anyone else?
“I-i was so scared,” she whimpered, clutching onto him like he would disappear into thin air. Like he was a lifeline.
They sat there for a while, the only sound filling the library being the soft cries of the woman currently in his arms.
“I… I’m sorry. For what I said. And what I allowed my father to say. It wasn't right. And it wasn't ok,” He mumbled, laying his chin on top of her head.
“It’s ok… I'm used to it,” She sniffled, finally calming down a bit
“It is not ok. I know you're just trying to make me feel better about what I said, but you shouldn't. My father has no right to speak to you that way,” Chishiya said, a bit angrier at what his father said to her.
“Chishiya, really it is alright,’’ She said. “Now if you could help me up, I need my bandages changed and I highly doubt the nurses will be coming to do it for me.
He stood up, helping her up from the floor. She tried putting pressure on the injured foot, and immediately fell into Chishiya with a yelp.
“Woah there. Come on, I'll just carry you back,” He said, going to lift her up.
Her hand stopped him from doing so.
“You're injured. And I’m too heavy anyways,” she stated, giggling at the thought of the much shorter man attempting to carry her back to her room.
He sighed in annoyance before picking her up.
She yelped in shock, holding on to him.
“I've carried tons of medical equipment heavier than you. And my wound doesn’t hurt, it's mostly healed. All I have is a broken finger and like 2 cracked ribs. I'll live,” he said, beginning the way out of the library.
The woman scoffed at his words.
“You’re really an idiot sometimes Shuntaro…” She mumbled.
As predicted the nurses and doctors looked like chickens running around with their heads cut off.
“They panic first rather than calming down to assess the situation. Yes, there are people on life support, but this is a hospital. It has to have a generator. Someone just has to go turn it on, because it obviously is not an automatic one. These people have no rational thinking skills,” she sighed.
Chishiya hummed in agreement, going into her hospital room, laying her down on the bed. The first thing he did was wash his hands and grab gloves. Kneeling down, he unwrapped the bandages with one hand while the other prepared a towel with alcohol to clean up the wound.
“This is going to hurt,” he warned before quickly pressing it to her skin.
She squeaked in pain, and gripped onto the mattress of the bed.
“Sorry. But when was the last time they cleaned this?” he asked, seeing the dry blood on the wound.
“Um… well like a week and half ago? They're not too good about it,” she answered.
He looked at her hands, still gripping the bed tightly. She was in a lot more pain than what he expected.
He made a face of disgust. This could have gotten infected like that. He bet that she was the one changing her own bandages, because the nurses always seemed too busy.
His hands worked quickly, finishing off with the bandages.
“Thank you. I really appreciate it,” She said as he stood up.
“Of course. You've done the same for me,” he said, standing a bit awkwardly beside her.
He saw crutches in the corner of the room, and walked over to retrieve them. Most of the rooms had an extra pair of crutches just in case anything happened. He just hadn't picked hers up from the floor, but it was ok. He grabbed them, and gave them to the woman on the hospital bed.
“Please don't run off…. I thought you were hurt. That you hated me,” He whispered, embarrassed by what he was saying.
“I could never hate you. It's ok, I was just overreacting,” She said, placing a gentle hand onto his shoulder.
“But you weren't overreacting. That’s the thing. If I were you, I would never talk to me again. I would forget about it. I could have stood up for you, but I didn’t. I could have told my father that we were friends, and that was that. I didn't have to play into his world view,” Chishiya angrily ranted.
He hardly ever showed his emotions, so when he did they erupted out of him. He couldn't stop spewing out how he felt, all of his words were laced with anger towards himself and his father. How could he have even let his father talk to you like that?
“Shuntarou! Please… It is not your fault. You can not change how the older generation views people like me,” she said solemnly.
She was right. He couldn't change anyone’s world views on anything this drastic, butt he wished that his father would change. That his father would stop caring about those things. Not all foreigners that came in wanted to cause harm.
The pair walked carefully around, avoiding the nurses running around.
“Follow me. I know where the generator is,” Chishiya whispered, leading the woman around carefully.
He took her to the back of the hospital, where it got darker and darker as the further they went.
The taller woman next to him hesitated. He noticed, and went over to grab her hand.
“We will be fine. Promise it is not that long of a walk. I’ll be right here next to you,” he whispered, holding a hand out for her to take.
She took a deep breath and nodded, grabbing his hand. He smiled and walked over putting a hand behind her back as they began walking.
The pair walked for about five minutes before finding the generator.
“You’ll be ok if I let go to turn this on right?” He asked, looking towards the woman.
“Yeah. I’ll be ok,” she responded, gripping tightly onto her crutches.
Chishiya sighed, a bit annoyed he had to be back here. If only the nurses had better panic responses. This is why he had always looked down on his father’s hiring choices. Of course, you needed to hire people that had come out of college, however, he hired all of the ones fresh out of college, and almost none with experience. The pretty girls. Whatever, it wasn’t his problem yet.
He pulled on the string and heard the whirring sound. Then a ‘click’ noise was heard as the hallway was flooded with the fluorescent light from above. He heard the woman sigh in relief behind him.
“Well, let us notify the staff the generator is on,” He muttered, shoving his hands in his pockets.
“Shun,” She called out.
He turned to face her.
“Thank you.”
No one had ever thanked him. Or at least none of them gave the gratification that her thanks just did. For the other ones, he did not deserve them. He was just doing his job, or straight up lying to some patients.
“Will you give this letter to my family?’’ The old man asked weakly.
Chishiya scoffed internally. Why do you need to give a letter to a family that is out in the hallway? Just talk to them.
“It is just that… I don’t want them to see me like this,” The old man said, in a solemn tone of voice.
“Of course,” Chishiya responded, taking the letter and placing it in his coat pocket.
“Thank you,” the man said.
Chishiya nodded, taking the letter. When he walked out of the room, he found the nearest trash can, throwing it out.
“Fools. All of them are absolute idiots. The world doesn't stop turning because you're dying. It doesn't stop because your family member or friend died. It moves on,” He scoffed to himself, going on to his next patient.
He really was on another level of absolute garbage. Thinking back on that occurrence made him look down in shame at her thanks.
“Let us head back, yeah?” She suggested, sensing the mood around the man change.
The two started walking back, getting stopped by one of the nurses.
“Where have you two been?! You! Your father has been searching for you! And you! Do you foreigners not know how to-” The nurse started yelling, before getting interrupted by Chishiya.
“Don't you dare bring her being a foreigner into this. She was helping me find the generator since you are all too stupid to calm down and solve your own issues. She has been helping the other patients at night since you all decided to neglect your duties, so don't you dare talk down to her,” He defended sharply, his voice filled with the anger he had been holding back for the past three weeks he had been here.
The nurse stared in shock and a little bit of fear.
“I-I it's just that um… she shouldn't be out here, she should be resting her leg,” The nurse stammered.
“You mean like how she should be resting it every night, but doesnt? Yeah, ok. You might be hired by my father, but there's something that I can do about that. If I were you, I would watch my mouth when speaking to me,” he stated sternly.
“O-of course Chishiya… I apologize,” The nurse stuttered before running off.
He turned to the woman next to him.
“Are you ok?” He asked.
The woman nodded, tears in her eyes.
“She made you that upset? I'll have her fired, banned even, I'll do anything to-”
“She didn't make me cry. You defending me did… No one has ever done that for me,” She sniffled with a soft laugh.
Chishiya smiled, and the two began walking back to his room.
When they entered the room, they saw two things.
One was Niragi with a nurse. The other was Chishiya’s father on his bed.
“Father.”
“Shuntaro, foreigner,” His father greeted, nodding at each of them.
A barely audible growl was heard from Chishiya.
“Father, please treat her with respect. She is an intellectual and respectable woman,” He said, straining his most proper voice.
“It doesn't matter to me what she is like. She is a foreigner, and it simply will not do,” His father stated.
The anger was building up inside of Chishiya. The building blocks snapping into place, the switches flipping in his head to talk back.
But he was scared.
He felt a familiar hand grab ahold of his, and he looked at the person next to him.
She gave a reassuring squeeze to his hand and he took a deep breath.
“Father. Not every foreigner comes in to harm us or the country. She is my friend, and someone who has helped around the hospital quite a bit since she’s been here. Please show her the same respect you would anyone else,” Chishiya said sternly.
His father scoffed, getting up to leave.
“I always knew you were an ungrateful and selfish child.”
And with those words, his father left.
“You are a great friend and an attentive and intelligent man,” The woman next to him said.
He hugged her tightly, squeezing her to make sure she was real as he broke down into sobs.
She ran a hand through his blonde hair, whispering comforting words.
“You can't leave. Please stay,” He whispered through sniffling and tears.
“I wasn’t planning on leaving. You have me Shuntarou,” She said.
____ One Week Later____
Chishiya had never been more happy to leave a place. He said goodbye to the old building, reminding himself he'd be back in a week or so to get back to work.
It was about noon when he was finally allowed to leave. All of his results had come back normal, and that meant he was ok to go home. The warmth from the sun radiated on his skin. It wasn’t terribly hot, surprising for one of the hottest months of the summer. He took a deep breath of the fresh air, finally being out of the stark white building.
There was no doubt in his head that his father would probably not talk to him for months, maybe even years if he was lucky. However, since the man cared so much about other people’s opinions, he would still be put in charge of the hospital. Sometimes, his father’s vanity came to his aid.
He watched as children ran around the courtyard, screaming and laughing. There were some older patients playing Shogi and Mahjong on some of the tables, their laughter joining along with the children’s in a melody of sorts. There was chatter all around him, people talking in groups. Most of these people were probably going to be in his position in a week or so.
His adventure in the courtyard wasn’t for his own enjoyment however. He was looking for someone in particular.
Star Girl.
He waited for the smallest view of her (s/c), or her (H/l) (h/t) (h/c) hair. Even just looking through the crowd, she would be easy to find, given the fact she was taller than most people. Much to Chishiya’s disappointment, he could not seem to spot her.
“Hey mister,” he heard a child’s voice call out.
He assumed it probably was not for him, until he felt someone poke his arm.
He turned, seeing no one. Then he looked down. It was a little boy. He couldn’t be older than maybe 8.
“You're Chishiya right?” The little boy asked.
“Yes. May I help you?” Chishiya answered, trying his hardest to not sound rude.
“There’s this pretty lady who told me to give you this,” the boy laughed, handing him a folded up piece of paper. Chishiya thanked the boy, who left running and laughing.
Chishiya sighed, unfolding the paper.
‘My dearest, Shuntaro,
I heard from your roommate that you are getting released today. While I’d like to say I’m going to miss you, I don’t have to. Meet me in the flower garden as soon as you get this note.
P.S.
Why does your dad keep spending unecessary money on this hospital? Like a library, flower garden, courtyard with activities? Wow. Anyways, I’ll see you in a bit.’
Chishiya laughed at himself. He had just read the note in his head, her voice narrating it. He shook his head, taking the note and shoving it in his pocket, walking off to the flower garden.
As he neared the flower garden, he heard a soft humming coming from just behind the gazebo wall. He neared closer, and went to scare the woman, but there was no one there.
He looked around in confusion. He had just heard humming, so she had to be near. Unless he was going crazy and just thought he had heard humming.
He felt someone grab his shoulder and he jumped, startled by the sudden touch.
“It’s just me,” he heard a familiar voice say.
With a sigh of relief, he turned around to face the woman.
“I got your note,” He said with a smirk, pulling it out of his pocket.
“I see… So, are you excited to go home?’’ She asked, sitting on the grass, patting the spot next to her.
Chishiya sat down, looking up at the sky. There was not a cloud in sight.
“Not really. In a week I have to come back and work so… It is not like I’ll be far from this place and the blank white walls or the incompetent nurses,” he joked, a small laugh escaping his lips.
The woman next to him laughed, and he looked over at her. He would miss her. He would miss sneaking out of his room and into hers, or when she would hide so the nurses wouldn’t make her leave his room. The late nights they stayed up, annoying Niragi or Kuina.
His first friend that he had to leave. He would probably never see this woman again, and that made him a bit sad. She had comforted him, showed him what normal human emotions were like. She supported him when he went against his father. He had nothing but adoration for this woman. Some might even say love.
“I think I’m going to miss you,” He whispered.
“You think?” She asked with a small laugh.
“I’ve never had to leave someone I lo- I mean, a friend, so I think I’m going to miss you,” he muttered, almost saying the three words he was so scared of.
“Oh… Chishiya, I have something to tell you… You don’t have to worry about missing me, because I also get released today,” She smiled.
He wondered if she had caught his hesitation, or the words he almost said. But either way, he was happy she also got to go home today.
“By the way… your letter. ‘My dearest, Chishiya.’ You know where you place your commas is important, correct?” He asked, a sly smirk playing on his lips.
“Of course I know. I did it on purpose,” She answered.
He could see the blush that was spreading across her face.
“Well, you are my dearest… friend,” She mumbled. “Although I’d like more... Um nevermind that.’’
“Well, I would like to stay in contact with you. So may I have your number, star girl?” He asked, extending his phone out to her.
He was expecting a rejection for some reason. Even though he knew how much this woman enjoyed his company, he expected the worst.
“Of course,” she smiled, taking it from his hand, and imputing her number.
When she handed it back, he noticed that she didn’t have a contact name.
“I think I’d like to put in a contact name for you. If it doesn't have one then I might ignore the phone. But star girl is too long. Calling you foreigner at this point is wrong, as you are no stranger. Have I earned your trust, my dearest?” He said, repeating her words from the letter.
She smiled brightly.
“You’ve earned my trust and more,” she said before grabbing his phone once more, entering her name.
When he got his phone back, he looked immediately at the contact.
"(Y/N) huh? Well... let us be more than friends one day my dearest, (Y/N)."

❛HEART.❜ | shuntaro chishiya x gn!reader

Tumblr media
shuntaro chishiya stood out, like a ruby shining bright the most amongst diamonds. he stayed still, as his eyes continued to wander the grey walls of the room. he watched every person one by one, thinking of everything that could happen with them; from every impossibility to every possibility. and soon enough, his eyes stopped on you.
he couldn't help but feel time slowing by. his vision blurred and his irises grew when he focused on you as you threw your head back, laughing at a joke one of your groupmates said. your smile was of the upmost warmth that lit up the whole room of dullness. the sounds drowned in his ears, and the only thing he could hear was your laugh. he was taken aback, a blush blossoming on his pale cheeks, and he quickly shook his head to get out of this kind of trance.
then suddenly, time went back to normal. the sounds faded back in, and he unfocused on you.
he strided - slowly, yet surely. he watched every move of yours. and his feet were leading him to you, but then everyone was instructed to get into their cells. he would see you again after the first round. he was more than sure of it.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
once the round was over, chishiya immediately went on his way to find you. and he was relieved when he caught sight of that wretched smile of yours that made his ears catch the slightest tint of pink. even though, he was distracted by you, he was distracted by his rumbling stomach more, so he went to where they kept the snacks.
his eyes were scanning every shelf for something worth tasting, but he didn't find anything at all. however he heard a voice; one that was dripping of silks, milk, and honey. it was all too sweet for him
"you should try these cookies. they taste the best out of everything else, i promise! and it will change your. fucking. life."
as he looked to the side, he saw you with that stupid warm smile of yours, offering him a pack of cookies, and he didn't hesitate in taking them at all.
"i disagree with that statement. i don't think a single biscuit can change how i live my-" chishiya stammered, tasting the cookies. and he didn't waste time into shooting another one into his mouth. wow.
"i told you, dumbass!"
"maybe you're somewhat right . . ." he agreed with hesitancy, dragging out the sentence as a sign for you to give your name.
"(name). and your name is?" curious, you asked.
"give me a reason why i should tell you." chishiya remarked, and it left you pouting your lips, which he found adorable.
"okay then! hello 'give me a reason why i should tell you'!"
"it's chishiya." he couldn't control himself as he shook his head, letting out a quiet chuckle.
"okay, that's a bit better, don't you think?" you concluded with a toothy smile.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
chishiya was quick to go to a corner just to sit back and watch as if the world was crumbling in the palm of his hand. he found it surprising you were one to trust aramaki urami and her group of doubters and liars. you weren't safe there, and he knew. uh-oh.
he saw them lie to one man just because he did something they didn't trust, painting him in the dark light of being the jack of hearts. all said his symbol was a spade, except for one. except for you. he gritted his teeth as you said the truth about his symbol, and all eyes turned to you.
how could you be so stupidly brave?
when your back was turned, you were already being talked about, and he knew what was going to happen. then it was finally your turn, and they did lie. your symbol happened to be a heart. although, everyone else said it was a diamond.
chishiya waited for you to pass by him. once you did, he suddenly grabbed your wrist and pulled you closer to him - he didn't expect you to be too light, he pulled you too hard that you slammed right into his chest.
neither of you truly minded.
he whispered a word in your ear. a word, a small one at that, one that will either cost or save your life depending if you believe him or not.
"heart."
your eyes looked up at his eyes; a hurricane of emotions swirling all at once. and his tight grip on your wrist disappeared when he forcefully let you go. you didn't say anything, you just stared and he just stared too. until a smirk appeared tugging at his lips.
his infamous cheshire-cat smirk.
and that was engraved on your mind as you entered your cell. everything. everything about him. him. shuntaro chishiya.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
he waited, and waited, and waited. what was taking you so long? him caring too much for a stranger, such as you, had him clutching at the chains of insanity. i mean, for all he knew, you could actually be the jack of hearts, marking all of his suspicions wrong.
and why was his heart beating so so so fast? him saving you was a hit or miss. it was either you believed him or not. if you did, then he would be satisfied. but if you didn't, then he would blame it on your stupidity.
but then, he saw that smile of yours again bouncing across the dark walls of the room; light in a treacherous sea of darkness. you didn't deserve to be in this world at all, he thought.
chishiya was stuck to his place when you approached him. he was starstruck, to say the least. he swallowed his nervousness, and breathed out.
"you believed me."
"yes, i did."
from there on, you two were stuck to each other's side. until the game. even after the game. you both stayed together. both of you promising that you'll go back to the normal world. together. as friends who met in a world of life and death.
but shuntaro chishiya didn't want to be just friends.
and you wanted more too.

How To Make A Cheshire Blush
Tumblr media
Chishiya Shuntarō x reader
You make it your goal to see Chishiya blush
Fluff - Suggestive
I have known Chishiya Shuntarō for a little over eight months since entering the borderland. In that time I have never seen him flustered… Ever.
How is that even possible? What man could be so calm and collected that nothing makes his cheeks flush the color of strawberries? Not even when facing death does his calmness fade…
I glanced over at Chishiya who was watched the group we teamed up with mild amusement as they betrayed each other one by one. How can they all be so foolish? If only they would put their fears aside and trust one another. Maybe then we could all make it out alive and find out who the Jack of Hearts really is. This entire game was so tiresome. I sighed loudly, earning a glance from Choshiya before he returned his gaze to a man sweating profusely as he told another player their suit.
“We’ve been here for days and it’s so…” I folded my arms on the table, “Boring.” I sighed again as my shoulders slumped.
“Find something to do.” Chishiya had zero interest in my boredom and did nothing to try and entertain me.
It wasn’t his problem nor benefit him, so why should he care?
My attention found its way to the pair, Aba and Kotoko. It seemed that they have been attached to the hip quite literally since the start of the game. Studying them closely, they reminded me of a business looking man and his personal assistant.
I chuckled at the thought of all the drama and scandal they might have caused in the old world, especially if he was high up there. I watched as Kotoko pressed herself even more into Aba’s side while he looked as if he held all the power. For a moment I wondered what it would be like to be just like her. To be someone who didn’t rely solely on herself.
I suppose in a way I have some trust to Chishiya, I considered him my friend. He did treat me as a friend though. I also considered Kuina a friend and I knew she thought the same about me. My mind briefly drifted to her and I hoped that she was doing okay, alive somewhere right now.
My thoughts drifted back to Chishiya. He was cool and highly intelligent, not to mention drop dead gorgeous, but something I wonder if he would sacrifice me for his gain.
“I wonder what that feels like.” I muttered as I placed my chin in the palm of my hand.
“What?” Chishiya took a bite from his own bag of cookies as his attention flicked over to where I was looking, “To be a self righteous prick?”
“No.” I shook my head leaning on my chin, “To rely so heavily on someone to protect you that you don’t learn how to protect yourself.”
“You wouldn’t make it very far with that mentality.” Chishiya muttered, “Luckily, you’re too smart for that.”
I grinned at the small compliment from the Cheshire man. It was rare to hear praise from him even if it was usually mixed with mockery. It was in that moment that my innocent grin turned sly as I thought of the perfect thing that could keep my boredom at bay.
His brows furrowed at my smile, “Quit looking at me like that, it’s weird.”
“What if the only person I knew to keep me safe was you?” My grin turned into a smirk.
“But it isn’t?” His answer came out more of a question as he tried to figure out my plan.
“But what if?” I leaned my weight onto his side, wrapping my arms around one of his, “Would you take advantage of my undying loyalty, Shuntarō?” I could see a blush coat his cheeks and I couldn’t help, but laugh, “Of course you would, you sneaky cat.”
He nudged me off him with a grunt. I leaned closer to make sure I was seeing this right… The Chishiya Shuntarō was in fact, blushing.
“Oh my stars.” I gasped in amusement as I pressed a hand to my heart, “Is that a blush I see, Chishi?”
I did it! I thought as excitement built up inside me. I made him blush!
“No.” He looked away from me.
“I think it is.” I poked his cheek, giggling as I sat back.
My giggling died down as I looked at him. He didn’t say anything, but he seemed flustered. Is it possible that he held some kind of feelings for me?
“Chishi.” I smiled when he looked at me, “You want some?” I held up my strawberry cake roll.
He eyed me and it suspiciously before he gave a simple nod. I opened the package, breaking off a piece for him to try. I shook my head as he reached for it as I brought it up to his lips. He opened his mouth slowly as he took a bite.
“So would that make you a self righteous prick?” I teased quietly as I fed the cake to him.
He rolled his eyes and he leaned back, taking time to chew and see if he liked the cake.
“Way too much strawberry.” He mumbled after he swallowed, but continued to eat the next piece I gave him.
He returned the gesture with his own bag of cookies as we munched on the others snacks.
“I am an asshole.” He spoke without hesitation, “I am not kind. I am manipulative and I do what I must to get ahead. I don’t care about anything so why are you always hanging around me?”
“You are those things, but I think you’re wrong about how you see yourself Chishiya. You are so much more than that. You are kind, to Kuina and to me. You are manipulative, but that just means how intelligent you are in understanding everything. You can solve the hardest puzzle on earth with just a glance. You say you don’t care, but deep down I know that you do. You have just built a wall that is worth climbing because you mean more than anything in the world to me.” I answered softly.
He wasn’t able to respond as the speaker dinged.
“I believe it’s almost time.” I sighed as I looked up at the clock.
My attention turned to Kotoko who grabbed a packet of cookies… The same brand that Matsushita grabbed a few minutes ago.
“Hm…” I hummed watching what would be a meaningless passerby between the two, “Maybe I do have more undying loyalty than Kotoko.”
“Seems so.” Chishiya smirked.
I turned in my seat, brushing my hair away from my collar.
“Heart.” He said and turned so that I could tell him his suit.
“Diamond.” I repeated the symbol I saw.
“Fits us well.” He muttered standing up to begin our journey to our cells.
“Aw does that mean I have your heart Chishi?” I stepped up to him teasingly.
“You have my headache.” He stated before walking into his cell.
I entered the one beside him with a warm feeling creeping in my chest. I think it’s the other way around, I think you have my heart Shuntarō.
“Heart.” I spoke my final answer as I waited to leave the cell.

BACK TO YOU — CHISHIYA X FEM!READER
MAJOR AIB SPOILERS !!
SUMMARY — you win the games and wake up in the hospital. remembering everything that happened in the borderlands and not knowing if chishiya made it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
your mouth was dry and it tasted like blood. your eyes opened slowly, getting used to the bright lights of the hospital room and you hissed when your hand landed on your temples. you had some cuts on your face, covered with gauzes and medical tapes, and some bruises too, especially around your eyes and on your cheekbones.
you looked around the room and you could see your mom's purse next to your bed, but she wasn't in the room. somethings never change, not even when you are at the hospital after having been dead for a few seconds. once you tried to sit on the bed, you felt a stabbing pain in your lower abdomen and then on your forearm. your hand went directly where it hurt in your belly and you realized that you were wearing a bigger gauze there and another of the same size on your arm, and at that moment a wave of memories hit you making you feel dizzy. the beach. the next level. the king of spades. chishiya.
chishiya.
you gasped and forced yourself to remember when was the last time that you saw him. niragi's gun was pointing at you when he suddenly stepped in the middle of your body and the bullet with your name written in it.
"why would you do it?" you asked him with tears in your eyes. chishiya just showed you a smirk. you told him that he needed to resist, that there were only two games left and everything will be over. a little smile remained on chishiya’s lips as he nodded slowly. he knew that by the time you completed the games he wouldn't be there. you wanted to stay by his side but usagi and arisu dragged you out of there when the zeppelin of the king of spades appeared.
the last thing you remember from that day was lying next to kuina and ann on the cold ground. your back hurt and your wounds didn't stop bleeding as you watched the fireworks and listened to what you were being asked. "i decline." you finally answered, with tears in the corners of your eyes.
you got up from the hospital bed and noticed that you were sharing a room with someone else. that someone in the room with you was separated from your side with a curtain. with small steps and with a hand on your belly, right where your wound was, you approached the curtain, and being extremely careful, you had a quick peek to the other side. you took a sharp breath after you recognized the boy on the other side. his thick brown hair was stuck to his forehead, and just like you, he had some gauzes on his face. he gave a small jump on the bed when he noticed that someone was staring at him from a small opening in the curtain, but his frown relaxed once he recognized you.
"y/n?" he asked, still a bit confused.
"arisu." you removed the curtain completely and his eyes opened wide. he removed the blanket from himself and turned his body to let his legs hang from the bed, ready to get up from the moment he saw you. you were quicker than him and hugged him, maybe a little too hard because you both hissed when your bodies collided. you stayed like that for a few seconds more and then he asked you if you were okay, and how long had been since you woke up.
"a minute?" you asked him. your head hurt. "everything- everything happened in a minute. all the games, all the deaths? in a minute?"
arisu nodded. you gulped. all the things you lived with chishiya happened in sixty seconds. you felt like you could throw up. you shook your head and decided to talk about anything else. "did usagi make it?"
"yes. she was with me when we finished the last game."
you nodded, glad to hear that your friend was alive. "kuina and ann also made it. i think i heard aguni and akane too but i can't remember well."
arisu then understood. you knew that all of your friends made it but not if he did. "i'm sure- i'm sure he's here. i'm sure chishiya got out."
you shook your head with your eyes closed. arisu didn't know that. when the king of spades appeared and him and usagi separated you from chishiya, his white jacket was already soaked in blood. the first bullet hit him in a noncritical area, but the second one, the one that should've got you, went directly into his chest. you didn't need to be a med student to know that that was bad.
"come on. let's go for a walk." arisu got up from the bed and kissed your forehead after noticing how sad your eyes were. you hooked your arm in his. every now and then arisu would stop to check up on you, if you were breathing well, if you were too tired to continue but you assured him every time that you were fine.
you saw aguni in the icu. the doctors that came out of the room were pointing out how that man being alive was practically a medical miracle. akane was on a wheelchair looking at him through the glass. the girl was very pleased to see you both again. she asked about your injuries and she thanked arisu in a subtle way for winning the last game. she didn't know if you were ready to talk openly about what happened. she didn't even know if she was.
you tried to run and arisu had to hold you so you wouldn't fall down the moment that you saw kuina. her face glowed and she had to blink a couple of times to believe her eyes. kuina was kneeling in front of a woman in a wheelchair, a man was standing next to the two of them, and you guessed that they were her parents. she was quick to stand up, her father had to help her to get to you and arisu, and then you hugged her tightly. you were careful though, you saw how bad her injuries were. you remember the king of spades on top of her, stabbing multiple times her stomach, blood coming out of her mouth and you immobile lying on the ground after being shot by him.
"have you seen him? do you know if he made it out?" you held kuina's cheeks. defeated, you let out a sigh after seeing kuina's confused expression. she shook her head to both of your questions. kuina told you that the last time that she saw chishiya was when the king of spades attacked for the first time, and then each of you followed a different path and she never saw him again after that. but when she met arisu again, he said that chishiya was fine.
you slowly turned to look at arisu with raised eyebrows, and the boy just shrugged his shoulders. on second thought, you were sure that arisu didn't do it with bad intentions. you had to explain to her that niragi shot him twice. kuina gasped and covered her mouth with her hand. you told her that the second time niragi was aiming at you but chishiya stood in the middle. that did not come as a surprise to her. she knew him longer than you did. they were already at the beach when you arrived there with arisu and usagi, and as long as she had known him, chishiya had always acted unbothered. he wasn't a big fan of showing affection. he was selfish, arrogant, and really self-centered. but kuina knew that he would take a bullet for you.
she insisted on joining you and arisu on your walk. you three recognized some people who were in the games with you: people from the beach, that kid usagi fought so hard to save, people you tried to kill, and people that tried to kill you.
"excuse me?"
the hospital reception was chaotic, and you barely heard the woman at the other side of the counter humming to your question.
"i'm- i'm looking for someone."
"name?"
you blinked a few times at her sudden question. you played with your fingers nervously. she raised her eyebrows waiting for an answer. "chishiya shuntarō."
you shouldn't have ask. you should have waited for him to find you. what if the woman told you what you didn't want to hear? no. no. no. you should've waited, or had arisu to ask for you. but now you were waiting for that woman to finish typing on the computer and maybe to tell you that he was dea-
"third floor, room 301."
"oh." you said in a sigh. you could feel all your body relaxing, your hands stopped trambling, your legs didn't feel like giving up anymore. but you could also feel your heart beating in your throat, and your chest slowly heaving. the woman raised her eyebrows at you again.
"do you need anything else?"
you gulped, shaking your head softly and coming back to you. "hm?oh. no, thank you."
you turned around and walked towards arisu and kuina, your eyes locked on the floor. your two friends arched their brows worried, by your face both of them expected the worse. kuina could feel that familiar lump that forms in your throat moments before bursting into tears. arisu approached you and his hands gripped your shoulders. your eyes connected with his.
"y/n-"
"he's on the third floor."
arisu sighed in relief. kuina also let out a sigh and she wiped away some tears off her cheeks before you could see her. she approached the woman and asked for an and she told kuina that she was in the operating room, which was also a strong relief.
time passed slowly, and the way to the third floor was the longest you could remember. not when you were walking to the control room with him and kuina, escaping from the militants, not when you were heading to a game, not even when you ran to him after niragi shot him. the elevator was too slow for you.
arisu was checking up on you, kuina was too deep in her thoughts. once the elevator stopped and the doors opened, you gulped and looked at arisu. he nodded for you to be the first one out of the elevator. what you didn't expect was to see chishiya in the middle of the hallway, his body slightly curved and one of his hands pressing his lower abdomen. he was talking to his doctor, probably asking a million questions like why he had put him on that medication instead of the other one, and trying to convince him why the other one was better.
"chishiya."
the boy quickly turned to see who was calling him and his eyes opened wide in surprise. "y/n." chishiya soon forgot about the doctor. one of his arms wrapped around your waist, the other one hugged your upper body, resting his hand on the back of your head and pulling you closer to him. he hid his face into the crook of your neck.
it was weird having him in between your arms in the real world. once you two were completely healed you'd go back to your normal life but you'll have each other. you were going to have to get used to his twenty-four hours shift as a doctor, and he was going to get used to hugs and kisses every day. but now, with his arms wrapped around you and after gone through that much, he thought that he could get used to that easily.
"i knew that you would make it." chishiya said with a small smile on his lips. one of his hands pushed your hair away from your face and tucked it behind your ear. the other one held your chin up trying to see through the gauzes on your face what type of injuries you had.
arisu and kuina were standing behind you. chishiya shared a glance with both of them. arisu was smirking, kuina was biting her nails with tears in her eyes, probably waiting for her turn to greet her friend but not wanting to separate you. you rested your head on his chest, careful to not touch where he was shot. your lower lip trembled, tears started forming in your eyes.
"i thought that you-"
someone talked before chishiya could. "that could never happen, you know what they say, only the good ones die young."
"you bastard." you looked over chishiya's shoulders and tried to move away from him the moment that you saw niragi at the end of the hallway, approaching the group from behind chishiya. he was quick to hold you tighter against him, to prevent you from hurting yourself even more by hitting niragi.
niragi was smiling. even though half of his body was covered with bandages you could see that disgusting smirk on his lips.
"i'm gonna kill you," you stated. niragi laughed at you. you couldn't see it but chishiya smirked, his arms still hugging you and not letting you part from him.
"it's not that big of a deal, honey. he's is alive and i got to shoot him. we both won."
chishiya could stop you but he didn't have enough arms to stop kuina. the girl passed by your side like a fury. arisu tried to grab her arm but she was mad. her fists were already clenched before she was even close to niragi, and arisu called her name in a last attempt of stopping her. niragi looked down at her with a smile on his lips. he knew what was coming. he had seen that face on kuina before.
her fist closed tighter and with all the strength in her body, she punched niragi. his mouth and nose started bleeding right after but he didn't stop laughing. she had her fist ready again but arisu grabbed her waist from behind pulling her away from him.
"better?" chishiya asked after feeling your breathing slowing down. you nodded and you both looked at kuina kicking in the arms of arisu. chishiya raised his brows looking at the doctors coming to assist niragi. "well, he deserved it." you rolled your eyes at him.
"you have to tell me a lot of things, i guess." chishiya said referring to your bruised face. you nodded, he was going to believe everything that happened between the time he was shot until arisu and usagi won the last game.
"i haven't seen banda and yaba."
chishiya smiled at your innocent. "i'm sure that they are fine but i'm also sure that they decided to stay." you already thought about that. you nodded understanding. what a shame because they were nice to you during the jack of hearts game, and they promised you that you'll see each other again. chishiya knew by your face that you didn't listen when he said that banda was a murderer and yaba was a scammer. people like that could only live freely in the borderlands.
not people like you two tho

'𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐦𝐞'
SUMMARY: merry christmas/happy holidays to all the chishiya lovers and alice in borderland fans.. here is my gift you/our tiny fandom.
WARNINGS: smut, oral sex, handjob, kinda ooc chishiya (i'd think he'd be more silent tbh but that's goofy), mirror sex, doggy style, choking, breath play, praise kink, dirty talk, protected sex ya'll!!, fem!bodied reader, ive been crushing on him since the first time i saw him two years ago but tbh.. he got even finer in season two (i think i just get in my bag writing wise when i don't worry about punctuation like the perfectionist i am)
~♤♡◇♧~
"I needed this.."
he stroked your hair and let his head fall back between his shoulders, silky blond hair falling with it.
"needed this so fuckin' bad.."
you looked up at him through your lashes, jaw muscles tightening and drops of tears rolling down your hot cheeks.
"oh shit," he groaned, rough hands forcing your head down further. you clung onto his thighs, gagging as he slowly thrusted his cock deep into your throat. "c'mon, c'mon m'close.. just a bit more, baby."
you dug your nails into his thighs, his thick cock in between your swollen lips muffled your whimpers.. he hissed, thrusts harsher and you were screwed your eyes shut. his balls slapped against your chin as a mix of his pre-cum and your drool rolled down it.
"that's it," he sighed, burying your nose in his dark happy trail as spurts of his cum shot into your throat. "that's fuckin it, baby.."
you whined as he thrusted a few more times before finally pulling your head off of his softening dick.
you coughed, some of his cum caught in your throat while some of it rested in your tongue.
"c'mon stand up," he tilted your chin up. "and swallow the rest of that f'me, won't you babe?"
you frowned, licking your lips and gulping down the rest of his thick cum.. it was slightly salty but nothing off putting.
"shun," you stumbled to your feet with a pout, your voice was raspy due to the pounding your throat had taken. "i hate you—"
chishiya leaned in with a smirk before cupping your cheek. he kissed you deeply, not minding tasting himself as he pushed his tongue into your mouth. you moaned and ran your hands diwn the fabric of his black shirt, slipping your tongue in between his lips. he hummed in surprise but only pinned your body against the wall. the old paintings and candles rattling on the bathroom shelves.
you pulled back with a 'pop' and begged, "please fuck me, shun.."
he glanced up at you through hooded eyes, one hand wrapped around his semi-hard cock. "give me your hand," chishiya ordered and you did so, giving him both instead. "get me hard again, baby."
"m'kay, y'better fuck me good though.." you wrapped both of your hands around his cock and he held one of your hands as well.
chishiya guided you hands up and down, not that you didn't know how to give a hand job, he just wanted to feel you do it first hand. he wanted to feel your hand slid up the twitching base and pump it, tease his leaking tip. he wanted to understand how you understood his body so well when you've barely known him.
the sight of your swelled bottom lip trapped in between your teeth as you pumped his cock until it was stiff and oozing pre-cum all over your knuckles and that sinful look in your eyes..
he loved it.
chishiya wasn't a horny fuck like most people in this new world. he could go weeks without even touching himself 'cause there were more important things to worry about (like figuring out what the hell was going on), but that look, that fucking lustful stare when you figure out how to beat a game— when you first stood next to him on that balcony as chaos ran rampant all around that apartment complex.
you were fucked up..
"damn," he kissed your forehead and you let go of his cock, licking your hands free of his pre-cum. "bend over the sink, i want you to see what faces you make when i fuck you.."
..and he loved it.
you giggled and pushed past him, stepping over your disgarded highwaisted tights. you gripped the edge of the sink, looking at yourself in the cracked mirror. your hard nipples peaked through the fabric of your tanktop and to be honest, you already looked like he had fucked you stupid.
you arched your back and stuck out your ass, chewing on your bottom lip once more as you heard the packet for a condom tear open. you stared down into the sink, water dripped from the broken socket.
chishiya pulled your damp panties to the side, rubbing his thumb teasingly over your drenched slit.
"hurry up, shun—"
you gasped, body jolting forward as chishiya sunk his fat tip into your weeping hole. you gripped the sink tighter, trying to supress your moans so that the others wouldn't hear what was happening from the outside. "shit," chishiya let go of your hip and rubbed your clit while he tried to fit the rest of himself inside.. "i knew i should've fingered you but 'no,' you said 'just skip the foreplay, shun!' now look.. can't fit my cock in your cunt.."
you wriggled your ass against him and whimpered, "I've just been so pent up.. just needed your fuckin' dick, shun, right now.. m'sorry.."
"don't apologize," he groaned as his girthy cock sunk deeper inside of you, splitting you open. "just thank me.."
your knees buckled when chishiya's cock finally rested in your gummy walls.. a long grunt left his lips once he bottomed out, your pussy drooling around his length. the hand that he used to guide his dick in found its way to your throat and he forced you to look at yourself in the mirror.
"number one," he squeezed your throat and you gasped, his cock sliding out and pushing right back into your cunt with much more ease. "you should thank me for saving your ass in games.." he chuckled as you choked on moans with each harsh thrust, your entire body moving foward (the edge of the sink and chishiya's stopped you from going too far)— allowing you to catch a closer look at yourself.
"th.. thank you," you mumbled, soft whimpers escaping your throat. "shun.."
chishiya kissed you jaw, the clap of your ass echoing from wall to wall of the bathroom as his thrusts sped up. his cock drilled into you with no consideration while he pinched and flicked your clit.. and your sensitive nipples rubbed against your tanktop with every bounce of your tits.
"mm shit.. number two," he continued, smiling at your fucked-out expression— eyes foggy, mouth stuck in a permanant 'o' whether your moans came out broken, loud, or slient, and droplets of tears clung to your lashes. "you should thank me for fucking you like i do.. this is a lot of work y'know.." he hummed, those last words more of a groan.
you could feel his heavy breathing tickle your ear and you whined as the tip of his cock plunged deep into that spongey spot in your pussy.
"thank you," you slurred, his grip on your throat now had you gasping. "thank— thank you s'much, shun! you fuck me s'good.."
strands of his blonde hair stuck to his forehead as sweat dripped from the tip of his nose. chishiya groaned, noticing you squeeze your eyes shut and scruch your nose. moans and gasps leaving your lips while you cried.
ah.. you were about to cum.
as cute as you were when making that face, he wanted you to watch yourself cum more than anything.
"eyes open," chishiya murmured, grip loosening to allow you to breathe. "look at yourself, baby.."
you reluctantly opened your eyes.
was the world was ending? yes.
so to get fucked should be on the bottom of your list of priorities, and it was, well until chishiya slid his dick in your pussy and made you look like that for the first time— the definiton of a slut. you didn't understand how he expected and managed to keep your relationship a secret when after every time you both were intimate it ended with you looking a mess.
"shuuunn! m'gonna cum.. let me cum please!" you whined, gasping as he quickly cut off your air intake with just a squeeze.
"number three," his voice was breathy and his thrusts had become sloppy. you both were close. the mirror had fogged up from his pants while you clawed at his hand, a smile curling from your lips. all you coud focus on was breathing and trying to reach your high. "thank me," he grunted as you began to roll you ass back against him. "for leavin' this pussy satisfied.. every," he thrusted deep. "single," he pulled his hips back. "time.."
chishiya buried himself deep inside of you while your entire body shook as your orgasm flooded through your veins. finally, he let you breathe, both of his hands now gripping your hips, as he continued to fuck into you messily.
chishiya hated messes.
but you creaming around his cock didn't count..
at least not in this moment, if this wasn't a quickie, he probably would have punished you for it.
"s'too much, shun," you moaned softly with a sniffle. "m'too sensitive.. can't— can't do it.."
"yes you can, c'mon m'almost there," chishiya hummed against your neck. "make me cum, yeah? only you can, baby.."
you shuddered as chishiya's thrusts came to halt, and he dug his fingers deep into your ass cheeks. then you felt it, the condom filling up with his warm release while he began to fuck you once again but slowly and far more gentle.
"congrats.. you did it," he rested his chin on your slumped shoulder and nibbled on your ear. ".. you look so pretty when you cum, don't you agree?" chishiya taunted you and he pulled out with a groan.
"fuck you.."
"ya just did," chishiya sighed while he watched your panties fell back in place, now covering your fucked-out cunt. "can you walk straight?"
chishiya tied the used condom off and tossed it in the trashcan next to the toilet, stuffing his cock back in the confinments of his boxers. he pulled up his sweats before laying your tights over the edge of the seat.
"your dicks' not that big.." you grumbled.
"answer the question."
"just barely," you replied and chishiya scratched the back of his neck with a frown before he gently kissed your forehead. ".. and that's not going to fix it, y'know."
"i'm aware, but in my defense, i only went that hard because your visa's still good for a while," he explained. "complain all you want but i know you enjoyed it."
"unfortunately for my arguement, as per usual, shun.. you fucked me good.. so,"
you spun strands of his blond hair around your index finger and smiled at him in the mirror.
with that sinful look that drove him insane.
"..thank you."

second, first meeting | chishiya shuntarou
Tumblr media
spoiler warning for ending of aib season 2
after the meteor, chishiya notices the all too familiar person. their a pull towards you - like maybe you’ve met somewhere? (gn reader)
words - 1.1k
a/n: WOW AIB 2 FINALLY OUT AND THE ENDING WAS REALLY GOOD I THINK. anyways arisu and usagis ending was so cute and i needed literally the “have we met?” scenario with ALL of them. and i’m a weak so i made this, very shoot, not beta’d, just a small and sweet drabble. enjoy reading!!!
Chishiya is alive.
He sure as hell didn't feel like it, but he was. The meteorite took a lot out of him, physically and mentally. Waking up in the beeping hospital room with a sudden new look on life, and he was going to do something about it. No more being a messenger for bad news, slowly tearing down people's hope one referral after another.
Dozens of people just experienced the same pain and trauma as he walked around him, some looking better than others. A girl with an amputated leg, a man in a coma as he passed by his room, and a girl and boy walking hand in hand with injuries littered over them. Humanity– always finding love in terrible suitaions.
Chishiya stood in one of the hospital common rooms, people-watching as he always does. God– it feels like a lifetime had passed since the meteorite. Chishiya was familiar with the whirring and beeping sounds of hospitals, people chatting and crying, and the strong smell of disinfectants and bleach. He was a doctor, all these things filled his life to the brim, it was familiar.
Even you.
You, who stood across the room; tucked into a corner (like chishiya), people-watching, snacking on crackers, and keeping yourself comfortably hidden. Yes, you’d caught his eyes. But something felt off deep inside his stomach, something was off about you. Almost like you were too familiar, chishiya could see a lifetime in your eyes and this is the only time he's ever seen you. Maybe, it wasn't?
Chishiya knew better than to laser focus on one person in the room, because your head perked up. Right into his direction, but chishiya’s gaze didn't falter– he couldn't even if he wanted to. The pull towards you was too intense, it made him dizzy. shock, confusion, remembrance? Flashed across your face, similar to him.
A small, sweet smile grew on your face. Fuck, what medication did they put him on? That meteorite really did a deal on him because suddenly he can’t breathe. For a moment he thought maybe his stitched came undone, half expecting to see blood soaking his scrubs when he looked down. But no– it was just you. Chishiya’s has never seen a smile so familiar, yet foreign.
Your eyes narrowed in his direction, like you were trying to read him. Something many people found difficult in the past, Chishiya didn’t put up a fight or a stone-cold face. Chishiya narrowed his eyes back, like a challenge.
So wrapped up in you that he didn't see the teenage boy wheeling a little too close to his toes in a wheelchair. “Ow!” chishiya yelped.
“Ah! I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” the boy began to spew out a plethora of apologies, frantically bowing his head to the elder.
“It's okay!” chishiya reassure, the sting in his toe had already been subdued– an easy injury compared to the bandaged and stitched-up ones he gained a few days ago. “Seriously, it’s okay.”
The boys' apologies slowed and he wheeled off, practically still bowing. Chishiya chuckled under his breath at the gesture. Looking back up to find you again, weird– what's got into him? Your spot ghosted empty and chishiya’s eyes frantically searched for you, only to find your back now turned to him and trudging down the hallways. Right as his eyes landed on you, your neck turned and you glanced back at chishiya.
A challenge indeed.
Chishiya curiously cocked his head, looking something like a cat. And then one foot in front of another, chishiya was following you down the hallway. He wasn't sure why, maybe he didn’t need a reason. I mean, he almost died, chishiya felt like he didn’t need a solid reason to do anything anymore besides what he wanted. And he wanted to follow the beautiful, mysterious, and weirdly familiar person around in a hospital. Like cat and mouse.
And that's how chishiya ended up in a quieter, more intimate area. Middle of a hallway, near a set of tables and a vending machine. Usually, where loved one would sit weary-eyed and waiting for good news. You came to a halt, chishiya stopped. You turned around slowly, that sweet smile that made chishiya’s stomach feel weird (apart from the wounds.)
“You're following me.”
Something that would so usually sound like a question, was a statement. Because it was meant to be, because you knew he was from the beginning. You intended on it. Chishiya already likes you. And hell– your voice almost gave him whiplash, so silk and sweet. Echoing distantly in his head, like he's heard it a million times before.
“And you wanted me too,” chishiya replied coyly. His voice felt so scratching and his throat burned as he spoke, being without water and unconscious for too long. Shoving his hands in his pockets, leaning back slightly. Even half dead he must keep up his cool-guy image.
You didn’t reply, only a wider grin growing on your face. And chishiya found it hard to bite back one of his own. How so uncharacteristic of him – he felt so warm.
“Maybe.” you finally said.
Chishiya hummed, beginning to close the distance – one foot in front of another – between the two of you.
You watched him intently, chishiya knew it. Normally he’d perceive this as someone sizing him up, but your eyes told a different story as they trailed up his body. Something that'd make his ears hot and red.
“Meteor?” you asked, gesturing to his wounds. Chishiya nodded. “Me too.”
It was awkward for a moment, but not uncomfortable. The silence was deafening as if it wasn't meant for the two of you. Like there were so many words only on the tip of his tongue, words unsaid, words he didn’t even know – but they were begging to be spoken.
You were the first to break the silence, stepping closer. Now only 2 or 3 feet in front of him. “Have I, sorry, this is weird– but, have we met before? Like even passed each other on the streets.”
“Not to my knowledge.”
You hummed, looking around to avoid the intense eye contact that tugged you closer, and closer and–
“Would you like to know me?” chishiya said, his eyes not leaving yours. A weird sense of home lay in your eyes, chishiya was ready to jump fully in.
You tried to cover the eagerness in you, waiting a moment. Dramatically tapping a finger to your chin as you thought. “I think that’d be nice.”
Chishiyas lip quirked up, following yours.
He may not know you the way he feels, but he will.

Chishiya tried everything to get you into bed with him. He tried seducing you, gaslighting you, and of course his manipulation tactics didn't work either.
All you were focused on was trying to fix the phone from last night's game. It was still on, so you thought it would be easier to get into before it powered off.
Every time he'd call your name, you'd brush him off. Mostly because he always used a certain tone of voice you've become far too familiar with when he tries to get what he wants.
All he wanted to do was kneel at your feet to tell you exactly what he wanted. To tell you he just wanted you to hold him, to tell you all he needed was your attention.
But he couldn't. He never has been able to ask for help, or ask for anything without feeling vulnerable for that matter. He was closed off, that's what people knew about him; that he didn't show those types of emotions in fear of being belittled.
Chishiya could feel his eyelids getting heavy and his eyes burning from keeping them open, but he knew no matter how hard he would toss and turn; he wouldn't be able to sleep without you.
It was pathetic, he'd admit that. It was a loop he found himself getting stuck into, and found there was no way out of it. He hid it pretty well, though. Through late nights where you'd fall asleep alone and wake up to him beside you. You truly had no idea he struggled so much.
He was so tired. He'd do anything if you'd just stop and sleep already.
And he found his last option, the one thing he dreaded the most.
"Y/n?" Chishiya whispered, his voice husky as he climbed out of bed and walked towards you with slow steps.
"What?" You hummed in response, never peeling your eyes away from the task at hand.
"Please," He spoke underneath his breath in an almost incoherent whisper as he stopped to stand beside the chair you sat in.
"I don't know what you want, Chishiya. No one is keeping you awake." You sighed, watching from the corner of your eye as he stood by your side, rubbing his eyes with his palms.
"You're keeping me awake." He murmured, watching your hands as they played around with the device's motherboard.
"How?" You said in defeat, finally turning your attention to him. You looked up at him with your hands thrown in your lap, clearly waiting for his response.
He let out a huff as he looked around the room; avoiding eye contact. When he finally looked at you, his eyes were soft and glassed over.
His next sentence was incoherent.
"What?"
[inaudible]
"Chishiya. Speak up, please." Your words were soft as you stood up from your seat, placing your hands on his upper arms.
"I can't sleep without you." He finally spoke, his words finally registering in your mind.
When he realized you had finally heard him, he felt like he could say anything. And with his new found confidence he continued to speak.
"Why is it so hard to ask you to touch me?" He breathed, letting his head fall onto your shoulder.
You smiled at his soft demeanour. You knew how hard it must've been for him to admit something so close to himself, especially since it was about you. You've found a new side of Chishiya you haven't seen before.
You brought a hand to comb through his hair as the other scratched up and down his bare back, "I'm sorry, Chishiya. I should've just read your mind." You whispered against his shoulder as you held him close to your body.
Your words were an obvious tease, trying to humor the situation at hand. Which did make Chishiya snicker.
"You should have. You've always been able to." He muttered, wrapping his arms lazily around you.
You smiled warmly as he spoke, pulling away to drag his hand towards the bed. You climbed in with him closely behind you. He waited for you to get comfortable, before he joined you under the covers to tangle his limbs with yours.
"I'm proud of you, Chishiya." Your sultry breath hit his forehead as you mumbled against his skin.
He stared down at the way your bodies fit together, processing your words with a smile he knew you couldn't see.
"Now go to sleep, 'm here." You spoke once more into his skin, kissing his forehead and massaging your fingers into his scalp.
His cold fingers danced around your bare skin, trying to bring himself impossibly closer to you before his body fell limp into a night's sleep.

Knowing Chishiya isn’t one to openly express his feelings I can totally picture him telling his s/o how he feels about her whenever she’s not aware.
Like she’s sleeping? He’ll be mumbling non stop about how much he loves her.
She’s in another room? He’d be whispering: “come here, I miss you”
She’s staring at the wall contemplating life? “I miss your eyes on me”
She has just woken up and she looks sleepy asf? “God, you look so beautiful”
And he thinks she can’t hear him but she often can and she has the biggest smile on her face every time.
She would pretend to be asleep just so she can hear him saying “I love you” until one day she says it back and he’s like 😦

Ch. 2 of "Over My Head"
Enji Matsushita × Reader
Previous Chapter | Next Chapter [WIP]
Warnings: Swearing, blood, abuse, neglect, violence
Hope you guys enjoy this chapter <3
You smiled at him. "So what are you planning on doing with the psychology degree?" He asked. "Well, I wanted to do Criminal Psychology. I've always been interested in it, so why not?" You responded. "How about you?"
"Hypnotherapist," he mumbled, a bit nervous about what you would say to that. "That's so freaking cool!" You exclaimed. He smiled softly. "Really? You're not just being nice are you?"
"No, really I think it is so cool! So tell me about that?"
-----------
That had been almost 5 years ago. Now, you were both doing your respective careers. Of course you kept in touch, but it wasn't like it had been all those years ago.
Matsu♡: Hey, do you have time this weekend?
(N/N)<3: Of course. Always have time for you. What's up?
Matsu♡: Oh, thank you. Let's meet up for coffee tomorrow and I'll tell you about it yeah?
(N/N)<3: Sounds good, see ya tomorrow Matsu
It wasn't like it had been all those years ago, but you still like dfinding time for this.
----
It was a new day. You woke up to your alarm and began getting ready. There was nothing better than getting ready to hang out with your friends. Especially him.
While you were both introverted people, spending time together seemed to recharge your battery.
He was already there, and called you over with a small smile.
"You're early," he said, looking at the clock. "And you're earlier," you responded back with a laugh.
You both agreed to meet at 8. It was 7:36.
He laughed and nodded. "You got me. I was excited," he admitted. "Me too! I have something super duper important to tell you!" You chirped excitedly. "Oh? And what might that be?"
"I got a new assignment.... you'll never guess who," you said. "Hm? I'm intrigued. By the way, since I know your coffee order hasn't changed in the past 5 years, I ordered your coffee,"he informed. You smiled. "That's so nice. Thank you. But... I have been assigned to that serial killer. You know, Banda Sunato?" You mentioned. You saw his eye widen. "You're joking, right?" He questioned. You shook your head. "Its my first big patient I guess. I'm a bit nervous," you admitted, your nails tapping on the table. "Yeah... I mean you've talked to people like him before but..."
"I mean, did you see what he did when they arrested him? He just... grinned. Ugh, it's so freaky," you mumbled, shaking your head. The waitress set down your drinks and you smiled at her, thanking her.
You two spent the better half of your day there.
"Oh wow... it's 12, we should really get going huh?" He suggested. You nodded, bringing out your wallet to pay. "I've got it. I invited you out," he offered. "Oh no, really, I insist," you said. It was so embarrassing as you two went back in forth every time.
"Fine, then take this as a celebration. To your first big patient. And let me pay," he said with a smile. You smiled rolling your eyes with a nod. "Fine fine. You win. This time," you said. You two looked around for the first time.
You had been so immersed with your conversation, you didn’t even notice any people around you. But now that you two had stopped talking, you noticed how quiet it was. You two walked up to the counter trying to look for the waitresses. Or anyone for that matter.
"Hello?" Enji called out, he looked to you, and you shrugged.
Then you noticed the lights were off. And the cars outside were stopped.
"Um... Enji... that's not normal is it?" You said pointing it out.
He shook his head. "It's not... come on, lets go see what's going on."
---------
The psychology behind love. That's what your final projects were on.
"Ugh I hate this project," you mumbled, writing down more information on your note cards. "Why? It's not that bad. Boring, but not bad," he said, adding more to the PowerPoint. "Because. This is so dumb. I mean... it is interesting. But there's more biology to love. According to this, I'll most likely look for love that I feel safe and secure in, but won't think they love me so i have anxiety about it," you explained. "... that's all true though?"
"... Enji..."
"Sorry sorry sorry!"
----------
"Happy birthday to me," he sang quietly to himself. He sat at the small table, head in his hands as he waited. His mother was supposed to be back at 6. That's when she got off of work. She told him they'd go do something for his birthday.
"16, that's a big milestone! We have to celebrate!"
He sighed, wiping the tears that ran down his cheeks. He looked up at the clock 11:43. In just 17 minutes the day would be over.
He sniffled and got up. He felt stupid for crying. It was just another day.
He felt stupid for thinking she'd be back.
Maybe... maybe she'd get back before 12. Yeah, she would walk in before 12, a smile on her face, apologizing for making him wait. And they would watch a movie, celebrate the next day.
12 came and went.
1 AM.
2 AM.
He sighed, and walked to his room, shutting and locking the door. He slid down the door, bringing his knees uo the his chest.
He couldn't stop the tears that fell down his face. "She said... she said she'd be here... she's never here. She said she'd be here," he whimpered quietly to himself.
The teen heard the door to the house open. His mother was home. He checked his phone. 4:55. He heard footsteps coming to his door. They stopped and he heard his mother jiggled the doorknob. "Damnit Enji... I told you to stop locking your door," she whispered. He scoffed quietly.
He heard her walk away, and he decided to just lay in bed. About 3 hours later the sun would come up and he wouldn't be able to sleep anyways.
"Happy birthday to me..." he sang quietly once more, staring up at the ceiling.
---------
"Well... if you just lost a little weight it would fit you," your mother said. "Or you could just buy me clothes in my size that fit me," you scoffed, changing back into your clothes. She looked shocked. "You think I can't figure it out mom? You were just like me once. And now that you're skinny you're on this fucking high horse about your weight. I get it, I'm fat and you want to change it because you're embarrassed," you said, storming off at the end. "(Y/N)! (Y/N), please!" She called out after you.
You left the house, going to a spot in the back. The woods were right there.
Where you could think.
And what you thought about was the boy from the street. And his kindness. The way his hand held yours as he helped you back home. His eyes that stared in admiration, filled with kindness.
-----------
"Did you find anything?" He asked, walking over to you. You shook your head. He sighed. "This is really fucking weird."
You nodded in agreement. He pushed his hair out of his face in a stressed manor. You looked at him and he quickly pushed his hair back down.
You walked over and softly pushed it out of his face. He flinched softly. "I don't care y'know... I think you're... perfect even with it," you smiled. He swallowed harshly, fixing the hair in front of his eye once more, hiding the prosthetic eye he had. He hated it.
But you saying that made him hate it a little bit less.
But it would always remind him of him.
That awful man.
-----------
"Don't fucking touch her!" He screamed, standing in front of his mother, protecting her from the man. She cried behind him, bruised and bloodied.
"What are you going to do about it? You're no stronger than that whore of a mother you have," the man spat. "Move. Now."
He stood his ground.
"No."
He couldn't remember much of that night. Other than that much. A fight. Pain. The taste of blood. The stabbing pain in his eye. Screaming. He couldn't tell if it was his or his mother's. Maybe both.
The white walls of a hospital.
And darkness out of one eye.
---------
He shuddered, grabbing your wrist. "Please... don't," he whispered his voice cracking slightly. "Just... please don't..."

A/N: Sorry this I took so long to upload school is kicking my ass and I’m sick 😭 also a sentence in here made me think of a sequel, guess which part lol. Also I’m actually sort of happy how this turned out but let me know what you guys think!
Summary: Just some more Chishiya smut. Do y’all sense a pattern of what I post? He might be a little ooc but I tried.
Pairings: Shuntaro Chishiya x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1.1k
Warnings: Smut
Up and down, up and down, up and down.
That’s the only thing going through your mind at the moment. That’s the only thing that can go through your mind at the moment.
Your thighs are so tired, but that coil in your stomach that has been building up is so close to snapping.
Chishiya is lying beneath you, casually holding onto your hips while watching you bounce on his cock while your cunt is tightly squeezing around it.
You’ve been at this for a while. It started with just some lighthearted teasing while you both were in Chishiya’s room at The Beach. But that lighthearted teasing led to you saying you can get off without Chishiya’s help, and now you're regretting your choice of words- and humor.
You let out a choked sob when Chishiya’s cock brushes against that spongy spot inside of you.
“I thought you said you could get off by yourself, didn't you?” Chishiya’s voice cuts through the room.
“ ‘m sorry,” you whine.
The frustration of not being able to cum made tears well up behind your eyes, which are so close to sliding down your face.
Chishiya doesn’t move, of course not. Even if you beg enough you’re not sure he’ll take mercy on you. He’s just watching you amusingly. His lips twitch led up in a small, condescending smile.
“ ‘m sorry, ‘m sorry, please!” You cry out, those tears finally spilling down your flushed cheeks.
Your pace was stuttering, legs too tired to keep the rhythm, and that blissful feeling that was building up soon disappears as you ruin your own orgasm once again.
Your cunt squeezes in desperation and your upper body soon slumps down onto Chishiya’s, both of your naked chests flush together.
You’re still grinding against him, your clit brushing against his pelvis. You can hear how sticky it is down there every time you move.
A desperate whimper leaves your lips when Chishiya lifts his hips slightly, giving more pressure to your sensitive bud while simultaneously pushing his cock deeper in your soaked hole.
“Please,” you whimper out.
The ache between your legs is getting too much to handle. The only things you can think of at this point is Chishiya and having him make you cum.
“Please what?”
The shift of his lower body makes you whine once again. He’s messing with you, you know that, but at this point you don’t care.
“Please make me cum,” you sob, tears still streaming down your face.
Your face was in the crook of his neck so you couldn’t see him, but you could feel the amused snicker vibrate his body.
“Backing out of a challenge so soon?”
All you can do is nod frantically hoping he’ll grant you some mercy. You feel him hum thoughtfully only to feel him tap your sides.
“Up, I’ll help you, but you have to stay in the position you were before.”
Knowing that that’s as far as Chishiya was willing to compromise, you use all your strength to sit back up.
Breathing heavily, you brace your hands on Chishiya’s chest. His eyes remain focused on your face, almost as if he’s entertained by your struggle. Knowing him, he probably is.
Gripping your hips Chishiya steadies you, only to thrust up into your cunt, his cock brushing against your g-spot precisely.
Letting out a broken moan, you lean most of your weight on your hands, only to have Chishiya thrust up again and again and having him hit your g-spot over and over.
Your eyes are unfocused, but you can make you the smug grin covering Chishiya’s face with every thrust. He doesn’t break his pace once, and the only thing coming out of your mouth now is whimpers.
That pool of arousal soon starts building up once again, and god you can’t take it any longer. You can feel every thrust of Chishiya’s cock dragging against your sopping wet walls.
Chishiya could see a white ring forming around the base of his cock, and knowing you're close again, starts to slow down, making you wait for your release even longer.
You let out another sob of frustration, only to hear Chishiya quiet chuckling.
“You didn’t think It’d be that easy did you?”
You knew he wouldn’t just give into you. You knew, yet you still thought that he might’ve given you a little leniency. Apparently not though. He’s stopped his movements and settled for controlling your hips in a slow grind, making sure your clit rubs against his pelvis every time.
“I said I would help, not do all the work.” There was a slight pause before Chishiya continued. “Unless you don’t want to cum?”
That last sentence cut through your foggy mind. You knew he wasn’t playing around. If he wanted to, he could deny you cumming at all. He has before, and he sure as hell would do it again.
So, you slowly begin to bounce on Chishiya’s cock once again. Of course, he follows through with his promise to you, gripping your hips and helping you go up and down like you were previously.
That coil in your stomach was beginning to tighten fastly, the four previous ruined orgasms making you so much more sensitive.
You’re right at the edge, so close you could practically see the bliss that was sure to take over you.
Chishiya’s hand slides up your soaked thigh covered in both of your juices, to your cunt, that is continuously riding his cock. His thumb brushes over your clit once, twice, only the third time he starts rubbing tight circles against it.
Your head falls back, jaw open, as you let out a silently moan. And when Chishiya’s cock hits your g-spot once again, that coil finally snaps.
A shutter racks your body as goosebumps cover your skin. You see white as you cum all over Chishiya’s cock, creaming around it. A euphoric sense passes through you and you don’t think you’ve ever felt this good.
Your body slumps safely onto Chishiya, who was currently helping you ride out your orgasm by continually rubbing your sensitive bundle of nerves.
Coming down finally from you high, you start to whine at the overstimulation, only to be flipped around on your back with Chishiya hovering above you, thrusting shallowly into your sensitive heat.
“You didn’t think we were done did you?”
The feeling of his lips kissing and sucking their way up your neck had you leaning your head back, giving him more access.
Only then does he brush them against your ear and whisper.
“I didn’t even cum yet.”

˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ BITTER SWEET ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆
━━ chishiya isn’t used to giving affection so you become friends with tatta and accidentally start drifting away from chishiya which upsets him ( fluff , angst )
word count: 1898
pairing: shuntaro chishiya x fem!reader
warning: ooc chishiya, mention of killing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Chishiya met in odd circumstances, but you were glad that you found each other.
However you couldn't figure out how you piqued Chishiya's curiosity.
He was the opposite of you clever, subtle, and cunning while you were noisy, clumsy, and awkward.
If you had met on any other occasions you were convinced that Chishiya would have despised you, but perhaps your kind and extroverted personality provided him solace.
Your relationship started slightly rocky, but you quickly found the ideal balance.
Chishiya figured out that you were someone that thrived off physical contact and made an effort to provide it to you as much as he could.
While you learned that your boyfriend preferred stillness in the morning, so you attempted to tone yourself out to please him.
Both of you appreciated each other's efforts, and you gradually established a strong relationship.
Something you quickly noticed was that Chishiya liked his personal space. While you respected that and never crossed boundaries, you were desperate for more affection.
It didn't even matter who it came from, your boyfriend, a friend, or a stranger.
You didn't care if it wasn't physical or romantic, you just longed for someone constantly around you.
So, you were delighted when Tatta arrived at The Beach.
He was very chill and easygoing and didn't mind you rambling his ear off 24/7.
As time passed, you began growing closer to Tatta to the point that you spend more time with him than with your boyfriend.
At first, Chishiya didn't notice anything until Kuina pointed it out.
She had questioned him who the guy was that you were spending all your time, which baffled Chishiya slightly.
Sure he had seen you around with a guy pretty often, but he knew that you required your daily dose of affection to function properly, and he couldn't give that to you.
So at first, he didn't think much of it until it escalated even further.
Chishiya had promised you to protect you as good as he could during games and preferred for you to be within five feet from him in case something happened, that meant that you practically always joined his games.
But now you were rarely in the same game unless Tatta was standing not even three feet away from you.
Chishiya also noticed that by the time he woke up you would have already left, and when he went to sleep you weren't there either.
The only indication that you actually entered the room was when he would feel you wrap your arms around him in the middle of the night, assuming that he was fast asleep while he wasn't.
The lack of your usual overbearing affection had affected Chishiya which he didn't want to admit it.
He couldn't sleep anymore unless he felt your warmth surrounding him, and he was becoming more reckless during games.
You didn't even know the torment that your boyfriend was going through because you hadn't even noticed it yourself.
While you were aware that your typical affection for your boyfriend had subdued slightly, you assumed he liked it more this way.
Perhaps if he tried to inform you how he felt, then he wouldn't be so desperate for you now.
Briefly, after you established your relationship with Chishiya, you started your own little tradition of where you would sit on the roof on Friday night before the games.
Chishiya had been sitting there for over an hour hoping that you would barge in with a lopsided smile while kissing and hugging him affectionately while he complained jokingly about it.
But you never came because you had fallen asleep on Tatta's floor.
The hours of sleep you missed during the night were catching up to you and while you were waiting for Tatta in his room you had fallen asleep on the floor.
You attempted to fight the sleep because you remembered that you had to meet your boyfriend tonight, which made a lovesick smile appear on your face.
But unfortunately, you couldn't fight it off.
Chishiya let out an aggravated huff when he realized that you weren't coming.
Even though your friendship with Tatta had started long ago, you never skipped your weekly roof date.
It wasn't even a date, and he never told you to come every week, it was just something natural that the two of you did.
There were still two hours left before the games would begin, so Chishiya decided to look for you. Curious as to what you deemed crucial enough to bail on him.
He firstly checked your room but just as he presumed it was empty with no sign of you.
Now that he was examining your shared room, he noticed that the signs that you lived there were nearly none existent.
The soothing scent of your perfume had withered slightly, and your clothing wasn't scattered across the room like it usually is.
His heart clenched as he realized that you had been drifting away from him just because he couldn't listen to you a little longer or hug you slightly more.
You were never a demanding partner, the only thing you asked for was his love and affection.
He quickly shut the door before closing his eyes for a few brief seconds to compose himself, so he could continue his search for you.
Chishiya checked the bar, the pool, and practically every spot that he knew you liked.
Time passed quickly, and it was almost time to start the games.
Your boyfriend's concerns grew because he didn't even know whether you had any visa left or not, so he quickened his pace and began looking for anyone that might know where you are.
First, he approached Kuina who only shook her head before offering to help him search for you.
Then he caught a glimpse of Arisu and Usagi sitting together next to the pool, and he recalled seeing you around them quite often, but they too didn't have a clue as to where you were.
Just as Chishiya was about to walk away, he heard Usagi speak softly.
“Maybe Tatta knows where she is, I saw them earlier today at the bar,”
Chishiya could feel his heart clench once again before nodding at Usagi and bolting off to find Tatta.
He quickly found out what room he lived in and speed walked to it before harshly knocking on the door.
He could feel the anger and frustration rise in him when the man who was stealing you away from him opened the door with a smile.
“Ch-” Tatta was quickly cut off by the blonde-haired man who had been harshly glaring at him.
“Where's my girlfriend?” Tatta looked slightly taken aback by his sudden malice because of the stories you told him about your precious Shuntaro.
That wasn't the adorable man who allows you to tie his hair back for him while cleaning his face, nor was this the man who always had a bottle of water standing on his bedside table to offer to you because you abruptly woke up thirsty.
This was the vicious man that uses and manipulates people, so he could survive, this was the man who was ready to sacrifice everyone around him just so he could make it out alive not caring about their lives.
“She's here-” that was all it took for Chishiya to barge in while looking around to find you.
His hammering heart subsided slightly when he saw you peacefully asleep on Tatta's couch with a blanket thrown over you.
“She said she wanted to wait here until she was going to meet with you, but she fell asleep on the ground, so I put her on the couch,” Tatta nervously clarified while Chishiya sat down beside you.
His slender fingers caressed through your hair while he absorbed the sight in front of him.
“How many days of her visa does she have left?” Chishiya hissed out the words, displeased that he didn't know the answer himself.
“Four. B-”
“I'll take her to our room,” Chishiya didn't say anything else before taking you into his arms in bridal style with a slight huff.
It was a miracle Chishiya made it to your room with no misfortunes because he wasn't exactly really muscular.
Fortunately, he too had some days left, so he gently put you on your bed before pulling the covers over your exhausted form.
His slippers had been carelessly discarded somewhere in your room, and he lay down beside you.
You instinctively curled up into his side, which made a remote smile appear on your boyfriend's face before he wrapped his arms around you.
Chishiya concluded that it felt nice.
Having you so near he brought him solace, and he couldn't comprehend why he ever refused your affection.
He kissed the top of your head lazily while your legs got entangled. His eyes felt like they weighed a ton, so he quickly fell asleep with you pressed against him as close as possible.
Hours later, the sun had risen again, and your eyelids softly fluttered open.
A smile tugged on your lips as Chishiya's softened features were the first thing you saw.
His arms were still tightly wrapped around you and your legs were intertwined together.
You decided to try to enjoy the view for as long as you could before your boyfriend would wake up again.
After a few minutes, you couldn't resist the urge to touch his face. He looked so fragile and he radiated warmth.
Your fingers delicately grazed his jaw before moving to his lips. They felt smooth and warm, but your fingers quickly moved to his cheek and nose.
Your finger skimmed over his mole softly before you straightened out his eyebrows.
He looked majestic in the morning light with his guard down. You couldn't apprehend as to how the man in front of you was real.
When Chishiya regained consciousness, your fingers were softly massaging his scalp which elicited a purr out of him.
Your movements halted at the odd sound coming from your boyfriend, whose lip corners were slightly upturned.
“Don't stop.”
His groggy morning voice sent you over the moon, and you instantly continued.
Chishiya enveloped his arms tighter around your waist, so your back was slightly arched while he nuzzled his face into your neck.
“Give me all of your affection,” his voice was slightly muffled, but you understood him perfectly fine.
“What?” You questioned him with a grin on your face.
“I want you to give me all of your affection,” he stated once again.
“I thought you didn't like it because I was too overbearing,” you sheepishly said.
“I don't care if it's overbearing if it comes from you, I want it.”
His words made you smile softly, and you kissed the crown of his head lovingly, which made him smile.
The two of you enjoyed the quiet morning within one another's arm with occasional kisses before you broke the silence.
“Chishiya?” His soft feathery kisses on your neck didn't stop as he hummed for you to continue.
“I love you.”
Your boyfriend pulled his face out of your neck for the first time that morning to face you with a lazy smile painted across his heavenly features.
“I love you too,” he told you before placing his hand on the back of your neck to kiss you passionately
