OK NOW I AM FULLY FERAL GOODBYE 🫣🫠

Note
I really wanna understand your love for kieran culkin, I loved him in Scott Pilgrim.
Oh my god this is so nice you really don’t have to ask but I love that you did!!!!!!!!
I wish I had a less lizard brain answer to attribute the spark to but sometimes you need someone to do something sexual in order for your brain to unlock that interest in them and the Roman/Gerri phone scene takes the prize. When I rewatched the show I had zero recollection of the emotional scene that happens right after because apparently I blacked out lol. So then I’m watching the rest of the show through new eyes which of course leads to huh, I definitely love this character and am attracted to this being, but do I also love this person? Anon, he’s so lovable! The pro and con of Kieran & Roman is there is A Lot of Kieran in the character. Uh the best parts, we hope. He’s this secure short king with quick wit who talks fast and can require a bit of attention but is humble as heck about how good he is at his job and has this quirky decorated right appendage and isn’t afraid to crack jokes when someone broaches the subject of his irl family or politely shut them down when he thinks they’re off base about something. I love the little bit I know about him and his wife’s relationship and the way they can publicly poke fun at each other. I love that he lived in the same tiny apartment from 19 to 39 until his wife finally said “you’re on a hit TV show.” I love how sweet and diplomatic he is when someone tries to poke him about Jeremy Strong being weird. I swear you can feel interviewers become infatuated with him for being a real and funny, charming person. In conclusion, I think he's neat!
#full disclosure Scott Pilgrim is bottom of the priority list of things to (re) watch. mostly because he looks like..that. but I will!#sometimes I'm like oh this was inevitable. the slow burn was in process it just needed an opportunity#then Alex took himself out and the gate opened#truly insane background I like to note for me but not important to anyone else ever#feel like I always had a general goodwill towards all the Culkins even if I couldn’t be bothered to learn the difference between 2 of them#before Kieran's SNL had you held a gun to my head and asked me to identify which was Kieran or Rory 50% chance I'm dead#I only listen to WTF eps if I have a vague interest in the guest so I know I listened to Macaulay's episode years ago and Kieran’s in 2020#and I know I came out of those happy to keeping rooting for them from afar - Kieran was great! - but it didn’t awaken anything.#his Conan episode is wonderful! but I wasn't digging in from that#S1 of Succession is so Kendall focused you don't get enough Roman but then he becomes the one we know the most about his childhood and#he goes from this little weirdo to fascinating puzzle#and through that just watching Kieran be good at his job is so hot! but also be good in a way that he makes seem effortless#and not too serious which is also importantly hot. no one really likes an actor who is weird about being an actor. he's just like that#then you factor in his personal relationship with J Smith-Cameron and her husband and it's so motherfucking adorable. I?#answered ask#KC#thank you anon this gave me so much energy last night lol

2023 Writing Roundup
Thanks @inexplicablymine for the tag! This was a lot of fun to do
January
Satisfied (Never Have Been, Never Will Be) — RWRB, T, 833
Or, a rewrite of the lyrics of "Satisfied" from Hamilton set at the beginning of Philip and Martha's wedding, except Alex is a little flirtier and a little less repressed, told from Henry's pov.
February
Some Element of Mystery — RWRB, M, 4k
Or, five times that Alex thought Henry was a stripper, plus one time Henry corrected him. Written for the informal stripper!Henry fest.
March
Was working on finishing my master's thesis instead of fic for the most part, though I did write a few drabbles and make progress on my reincarnation au (see November)
April
Burn (They're Watching Us/I Hope That They) — RWRB, T, 295
Or, a rewrite of the lyrics of "Burn" from Hamilton, set immediately after the email leak, told from Alex's pov.
May
Graduated/finished my master's 🎉🎉 while also writing more of my reincarnation au (see November), including some major revisions
June
Got sick for part of the month, then spent the rest of it furiously working on my brownstone anniversary exchange fic (see July) doing tons of (probably unnecessary) research about Saturday Night Live and royal weddings.
July
SNL | Season 45 Episode 2 | HRH Prince Henry & FSOTUS Alex Claremont-Diaz — RWRB, M, 9k
Or, the fic in which I said bet and sent firstprince onto Saturday Night Live instead of having Alex go to London for a weekend. Written for the Brownstone Anniversary Fic Exchange.
August
Spent the month trying to make a lot of progress on reincarnation au (see November) and finally got some betas
September
Had a bad case of writer's block for most of the month, then went insane and wrote something for firstprince week (see October) despite promising myself I wasn't going to participate
October
Not a Day I Don't Miss (Those Rude Interruptions) — RWRB, T, 2k
Or, a Henry character study set during the week following Henry running from the lake house, loosely inspired by Taylor Swift's "Last Kiss". Written for firstprince week.
November
Red, White, and Royal Switcheroo — RWRB, T, 6k
Or, a body swap au set during Alex's "make nice" trip to England in which Alex and Henry have to play at being each other, and Alex discovers Henry's role is, in fact, very much not much easier to play. Written for Halloween, Huh?
Every Time My Heart Swings Back to You — RWRB, M, ~90k (ongoing)
Or, a reincarnation au set mostly in the modern era with college students Alex and Henry trying to piece together the story of their past lives as a knight and a prince through a series of non-linear flashbacks.
December
Trying my best to finish reincarnation au while also plotting out a very ambitious fic for a new fandom (mysterious lotus casebook) that I'll be trying to tackle in 2024. Also the month I got super into cdramas/c-ent.
--
Wow, compiling all this made me realize I wrote a whole lot more than I thought: posting 9 stories and writing around 50k new words! I also participated in a lot more fan events than ever before and finally begin sharing the story that's been living in my brain and docs only for almost three years. All in all, a very satisfying year for me while also looking forward to new projects in 2024~
I'm probably one of the last wants to get to this but tagging a few others who I don't think have done this (let me know though if you have) @14carrotghoul @formorewishes @affectionatelyrs @anincompletelist @celaestis1 @celeritas2997 @cricketnationrise, plus open tag because I'd love to see anyone else's writing year in review~

Has anyone seen this?
Listen I’m all for making fun of internet culture, but this is disrespectful. How it ignores the legality of an employer sleeping with his employee. How it makes light of the abuse of power that comes with work place “relationships.”How it brushes off the repercussions of a year long affair on families and friends. How it disregards any sort of social relevancy or value of the Try Guys brand in general.
Even if Ned and Alex did have a “consensual work place relationship,” mocking what is often an abusive situation on national television sets a precedent that it’s okay. Which it’s not.
Furthermore, trying to discredit the very valid criticism and action taken by Second Try by belittling their content when last week you produce a sketch about a Fast Food Mascot Reunion is laughable. And not even in a forced studio audience kind of way. Careful with that stone SNL. You’re in a glass house.
There were so many better ways to satirize this situation that did not include trivializing the real life consequences. I’m not at all saying there isn’t humor to be found in this scandal, (the memes have been great) but teasing those hurt by this situation just comes across as bullying and out of touch.
And, like c’mon, no one is saying this issue usurps the importance of Ukraine or Iran. By condemning people who discuss something beyond life and death issues, you tell them that caring about microaggressions or localized problems is a waste of time. That’s the Fallacy of Relative Privation and it’s used by conservatives to deflect any sort of progressive argument a lot.
Also if you think I’m being over dramatic, I encourage you to watch the video. It’s just in such poor taste. The comments seem to reflect that. I’m not looking to SNL to be this paragon of social awareness and virtue, but like guys, they are better than this.

final destination characters and what movie/tv shows i think they would like
alex - the walking dead. has seen every single episode even though it’s been running for over a decade. says he could probably survive a zombie apocalypse. is the biggest glenn defender ever.
tod - community. 100%. when the movie got announced he went apeshit on twitter. he loves troy, has seen every episode at least twice, and actually liked the fourth season for some reason.
george - he doesn’t watch tv unless it’s like a sport. look at him. if he had to pick, brooklyn 99.
clear - shameless. she sat through all eleven seasons, would have watch parties with her friends, and liked to take notes on the psyche of the characters. she HATED frank with a passion and loved fiona. actually cried at both finales.
billy - my babysitters a vampire. claims it was his “childhood” and is still upset they ended it on a cliffhanger. rory def rubbed off on him growing up. he prefers the first season to the second but has seen each episode like a million times. will sing the theme song totally unprompted
carter - breaking bad. actually tried making meth cause he thought walter had the “right idea” with the money. is the kind of guy to retweet sigma male edits of the characters
terry - locke and key. watched it cause she thought the main villain was hot, and when he was a girl too she went crazy on twitter. live tweeted the second season, and will defend kinsey locke to no extent.
kimberly - first kill. clear or shania told her to watch it saying it was like a better version of twilight. (she loves twilight). she was on the front lines trying to keep the show from getting canceled. she has probably made an edit of caliette. she’s crazy like that.
rory - he also likes breaking bad, but he’s more into better call saul. saul goodman is HIM. literally so relatable and babygirl. he saw better call saul first, so when he showed up in s2 of brba he went APESHIT
eugene - abbott elementary because there is “finally” a REAL show about what it’s like to be a teacher. he also never gets into sitcoms so it was a shock for him that he liked it so much
nora - bones. she LOVES crime dramas on daytime television, and bones is no exception. she finds herself trying to figure out the twist every single episode. she also gets way too into the characters. (tim was explaining to her that bones was autistic coded and she went :o)
tim - kid LOOKS like henry danger, but i’m gonna say malcom in the middle. secretly wished for a big family growing up. alex told him that the father makes meth and since tim didn’t know about brba he was actively seeking out that plot line.
evan - literally anything with wrestling.
kat - the office. not in like, a “basic” way or anything but because she is a businesswoman and needs to feel included. she likes pam a lot. wanted dwight to die once. she got through about eight seasons before calling it quits.
wendy - i feel like she’s a house md fan??? idk why or how but it just makes sense to me i suppose. probably an rsl fan or something
kevin - okay unpopular opinion but i feel like he’s a huge fan of the will forte era on snl. he’s a will forte fan in general so he’s probably seen clone high, last man on earth and macgruber
ian - def a santa clarita diet fan. trust me when i say this man was having meltdowns on twitter when it got canceled. you have never seen him more passionate in his life!
erin - okay this is very unpopular and very out of character but she has a guilty pleasure show and that is dawsons creek. joey is her fave and she is Completely Normal about pacey + joey. her regular show is yellowjackets, however. god bless cannibalistic high schoolers

I was thinking about IDWTLF mv (2017) and how TS & ZM trashed the hotel rooms (TS smashed mirror). So I was thinking- I wondering if she hesitated at the thought of the 7 years of bad superstition? Lol, but then again Highway Don't Care & Style mv have broken mirrors too.
According to one site: "Fortunately, there are also a number of rituals which are said to counteract the very bad hair day created when you break a mirror. Since the pieces of the mirror can still reflect the corrupted soul, the entire mirror should be ground into dust. No reflection, no problem. It is also suggested that after you break a mirror, you should invest in a shovel and bury the pieces under a tree during a full moon. African slaves working in America believed the bad luck could be washed away by placing the pieces in a river flowing in a southerly direction."
Lol, maybe she buried the pieces in LWYMMD mv?
dermacentermd.com/docs/Why%20is%20Breaking%20a%20Mirror%20Bad%20Luck%20PDF%20NEW.pdf
Not sure if I sent this... Speaking of LWYMMD, the lyric mv [youtu.be/3K0RzZGpyds] made me think of parts of Karma mv. Dust spiral & broken bulbs (cage look). Oz part with straw broom made me think of SNL 3 sad virgins SNL cameo [youtube.com/watch?v=21Ki96Lsxhc]- but also the Roman mythology 3 sisters of Fate. Easter egg? Scarecrow rep made me think of X-Factor Alex & Sierra debut single Scarecrow [youtu.be/9g1YpDK7Dcg]. Lol, dish drop in mv reminded me of Niall's dish drop in skit [youtube.com/watch?v=PDpmL3UzJtQ]. Sidenote: Scarecrow was co-written & produced by MJ- her former co-writer on a few songs. I think he was part of the 6 who produced ILY song by MG also from that album. [MJ also toured with JM]. Sierra & LH was part of TS 30th Bday pic.
Yea I haven’t figured out the broken mirrors things. She seems to use them a lot. She even uses them on the Delicate visuals on Tour. The dust spiral 🌀 in Karma mv & the snack spiral in LWYMMD mv are said to be part of the lost Karma album.

Based on che show notes (tysm @andydismukes) and the entire season 47 I believe with my whole heart that we only need 6 feature players, dismukes, pdd, ego, rosebud, jake, deetch, bulla, jost, yim, alex, stephen. All due respect to other people but these people are the future. I know you’ll agree lol
I’ve been saying the exact same thing for months but also this is a vision of a younger audience. It’s only natural for us to connect with Dismukes more than Tucker’s writing or Heidi for example. But snl has a wider audience than that, it’s different for a 50 year old who has been watching Kenan for 20 years. Someone has to resonate with them, so I get why they lean into keeping these people around but I believe it’s more about wanting their presence, and less about their comedy. I think with the newer hires it’s the reverse situation (well mostly). But yes, of course I agree with this.

round up // APRIL 23
Tumblr media
A selection of words capturing my April pop culture experiences:
Museum
Podcast
Amy Sherman-Palladino
Muppets
Vampire
Nike
American Girl dolls
Read on for everything that brought me joy this month!
April Crowd-Pleasers
Tumblr media
1. Renfield (2023)
Did I write a review of Renfield, an ode to the two Nic(k)s, or analysis of the Great Resignation? Yes, yes, and yes. Read whatever, in fact, I wrote at ZekeFilm. Crowd: 8.5/10 // Critic: 7/10
youtube
2. SNL Round Up
Whether they’re spoofing my childhood toys, my young adulthood wedding commitments, or my love for the Jonas Brothers, the crew in Studio 8H has been keeping me laughing this Spring.
“Southwest Airlines Announcement” (4811 with Michael B. Jordan)
“The Big Hollywood Quiz” (4812 with Pedro Pascal) - A great example of how no one watches the same things anymore
“Waking Up” (4812)
“Protective Mom” (4812)
“Lisa From Temecula” (4812)
“American Girl Café” (4814 with Travis Kelce)
“Bridesmaid Cult Documentary” (4816 with Quinta Brunson) - I feel seen
"Weekend Update: Co-Worker Who's Extremely Busy Doing Seemingly Nothing on Returning to the Office” (4817 with Molly Shannon) - I feel attacked
“Sally O'Malley: Jonas Brothers” (4817)
“American Girl Doll Movie Trailer” (4818 with Ana de Armas)
Tumblr media
3. Descanso Gardens
Because I can’t resist a botanical garden! Gardens are becoming a go-to attraction for me on vacations, and the Descanso Gardens in Los Angeles did not disappoint. The day we went was not too crowded but was impressive enough to earn a huge crowd—a hidden gem for LA tourists!
Tumblr media
4. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Panel at PaleyFest
The gardens were lovely, but there were two other attractions that were the real reason for my visit to Los Angeles. The first was PaleyFest to see Amy Sherman-Palladino, Daniel Palladino, and the cast of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel! Just before the fifth and final season started on Amazon Prime, we heard Alex Borstein and Rachel Brosnahan share their mourning process for the show’s ending, Caroline Aaron and Michael Zegen reflect on what these roles have meant to them, and Tony Shalhoub crack up the crowd. (And who knew I would be so starstruck by him? When he came on stage I wanted to scream, “YOU WERE SO GOOD IN GALAXY QUEST!”) Check out SO IT’S A SHOW’s Instagram for more highlights from when my podcast co-host Kyla and I visited the Dolby Theatre (home of the Oscars!).
youtube
4. John Mulaney: Baby J (2023)
A full year ago I saw John Mulaney on his From Scratch tour, and now you can enjoy the set at home. His joke about not being interested in science “from magnets to ducks” did not make the cut (and alas now I can’t remember the setup for that punchline), but the other 90% of a show that made me laugh so hard I cried is preserved forever.
Tumblr media
5. The Muppets. (2015-16)
Why did this gem only last 16 episodes? In this one-season single-cam sitcom, the Muppets are working on Late Night with Miss Piggy, a setting that could’ve produced comedy gold for years. With the frazzled Kermit producing, the Electric Mayhem as the in-studio band, and celebrity guests through the felt nose, I’m glad I checked out these 16 eps even though they ended on a cliffhanger. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like for Miss Piggy to date Josh Groban or to hold grudges against every blonde actress in Hollywood, you won’t want to miss it either.
Tumblr media
7. Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. (2023)
Special in the way that the best coming-of-age movies are. I suspect Margaret’s insecurities about boys, bras, and besties will feel relatable to Gens Z and Alpha if for no other reason than this movie’s depiction felt scarily accurate to my own experience in the mid-2000s. I promise I will never start a review with the story of my first period ever again! At least, probably—at the rate we're going, it will never be apropos again. Read the full review at ZekeFilm. Crowd: 9/10 // Critic: 9/10
April Critic Picks
Tumblr media
1. AIR (2023)
Is it controversial to say Matt and Ben’s collabs only get better? If we're playing Greatest/Best/Favorite, this might be my new ranking:
Greatest: Good Will Hunting
Best: The Last Duel
Favorite: AIR
Read my full review for ZekeFilm. Crowd: 9.5/10 // Critic: 9/10
Tumblr media
2. The Academy Museum
The other reason I went out to Los Angeles: After years of pandemic-caused delays, I finally made it to the Academy Museum! Six floors of movie and Oscars history and memorabilia? You know I’m in my happy place, but casual movie fans will find something for them, too. Some of my favorite exhibits included the several-stories high Mount Rushmore backdrop used in North by Northwest, the gallery that used The Godfather to show each element of filmmaking, and the pianos from Casablanca. Fanny’s (named for Barbra Streisand’s character in Funny Girl) serves exceptional museum food, and I learned about deep cut filmmakers and movements I was only vaguely familiar with before I went. I’d give the Academy a gold statue for museum execution if I could!
Tumblr media
3. Good Reads
A miscellaneous round up of good stuff I’ve read lately…
Final thoughts on 2022 Awards Season:
“How Avatar: The Way of Water Can Make $2 Billion and Still Feel Irrelevant,” Vox.com (2023)
“How Did We Let the Golden Globes Back In?” LATimes.com (2022)
Unexpected responses to Cocaine Bear:
“An Attempt to Define the ‘Good for Her’ Cinematic Universe,” Vulture.com (2023)
“The Case for Cocaine Bears,” Slate.com (2023)
Glitches in the Sports Industry Matrix:
“America’s Bad Bet on Expanding Legal Sports Gambling,” Vox.com (2023)
“Will Damar Hamlin’s Injury Change the NFL? Why a Safer Game Could Turn Away Fans,” LATimes.com (2023)
Watching trends that need to be fixed:
“Mumbling Actors, Bad Speakers or Lazy Listeners? Why Everyone is Watching TV With Subtitles On,” TheGuardian.com (2023)
“Television Is Going Exactly the Wrong Direction. I Know the Solution.” Slate.com (2023)
Explorations of our malaise at work:
“How to Care Less About Work,” TheAtlantic.com (2021)
“The Age of the Crisis of Work,” Harpers.org (2023)
All the ways—okay, just some of the way—social media is on the struggle bus right now:
“Why Every App Now Feels Like TikTok, but Worse,” NYMag.com (2023)
“How Elon Musk Turned the Blue Check Mark Into a Scarlet Letter,” Slate.com (2023)
“Commentary: If Twitter Finally Dies, Where Do We Find the Smart People?” LATimes.com (2023)
And even more miscellaneous good reads:
“You’ll Feel Better if You Go Outside,” NewYorker.com (2021)
“The Oral History of Helm’s Deep,” Inverse.com (2022)
“I’ve Had It With Stunt Ice Cream Flavors,” Eater.com (2023)
“Clothes Make the Con Man,” NYTimes.com (2023)
“Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, and the Easter Egg-ification of the Hollywood Feud,” Vox.com (2023)
“Why Are TV Writers So Miserable?” NewYorker.com (2023)
Tumblr media
4. Current Exhibits at the St. Louis Art Museum
My membership to the SLAM always pays off. In April I indulged in two special exhibits:
The Age of Armor, which showcases the history of armor and battle gear with an emphasis on suits of armor. The galleries did a great job explaining how the armor functioned and provided model pieces to try yourself, but you know my favorite part was the Black Panther and Star Wars costumes at the end!
Monet/Mitchell: Painting the French Landscape compares the work of Claude Monet and American expat Joan Mitchell, and it brought me back to my magical trip to Giverny last summer!
Tumblr media
5. The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939)
Sumptous costumes and sets, Bette Davis doing the most acting, and Errol Flynn at his handsomest. This Queen Elizabeth I costume drama from Michael Curtiz is maximalist in aesthetic and romantic at its heart. Crowd: 7/10 // Critic: 9/10
Tumblr media
6. Under the Umbrella: A Little Women Podcast (2023-)
Little Women superfans unite! Kate and Kelsey (friends and both teachers) are analyzing the book and film versions from every angle, and if you love the March sisters, Louisa May Alcott, or Greta Gerwig, they are going to be your new best friends.
Tumblr media
7. Just Like Us: The Tabloids That Changed America (2022)
Last spring the Ringer Dish podcast did a deep dive into the ‘00s tabloids and their obsession with Brangelina, Bennifer, and ‘90s child stars gone wild—so basically everything I obsessed over in middle school. Bottom line: They probably didn’t make our world better, but those mags (and emerging online blogs and reality TV) sure tapped into parts of our brains that made them addictive. This eight-episode series challenges any assumption we have about about celebrity gossip being harmless—or frivolous.
Until May’s Round Up…
In spite of the current state of things, I’m still tweeting in denial as @tblake24. Come join me until this platform burns to the ground!
If you want real-time updates on what I’m watching and loving, you can also find me as @tblake24 on Letterboxd.

get to know me
Hi I just have to create this as a little get to know me post. I would not like to share my name nor do I have an online name I go by.
I am 14 i have a Wonderful partner who I wouldn't trade for anything. I love scary movies favorite right now is probably scream.  I like the whole franchise but my favorite would probably have to be the original or the fifth one that came out last year.
I Love animals but sadly I don't have any of my own. I have one younger brother and no older siblings.
some facts about me I love musical theater and I've been in a total of Five shows.  I did The Little Mermaid when I was in fourth grade the following year I did Alice in Wonderland I was a part of a play that took place at my school   I was supposed to be in a production Frozen in 2020 but covid shut that down but I recently got to do it again and we closed last Sunday.
I have seen a total of four shows I saw the show anything goes at a local theater Wicked in the states
( I'm Canadian)  and this past November I got the opportunity to see Mean Girls in Toronto.  this coming weekend I we'll have seen my fifth show as I am going  to see Hamilton.  I love Taylor Swift and I am very bummed (like a lot of people I'm sure lol)  but I wasn't able to get tickets to her concert.
My favorite shows right now are probably Modern Family the office  Ted lasso and I also enjoyed watching Saturday Night Live with my dad.  my favorite SNL cast  members are Sarah Sherman and Chloe Fineman.  my favorite Modern Family character is probably Haley or Alex.  my favorite office character is and will always be a tie between Pam and Aaron. And my favorite dead loss of character is keley for anybody who was curious.
that's it :)

We disagree on this point -- us two American mods were clipping pictures of Alexa out of Teen Vogue before ever hearing of Alex // I’m the anon who submitted the post about Alexa being less famous than Alex when they started dating, also American! I was an AM fan before I ever heard of Alexa (granted I have lots of UK friends so heard their demos floating around MySpace early through them), but also became familiar with her when she and Alex Zane took over popworld as I was a big Simon amstell/popworld fan and used to torrent episodes to watch them live-ish, so I watched a few of her popworld episodes when they were airing. AM definitely weren’t nearly as big in the US then as they were in the UK (and still aren’t) but it’s not like they were unknowns or anything either, they were on SNL, touring at good/respected venues in the US in 2006, constantly all over indie music blogs and magazines, etc. My prior post wasn’t meant to demean Alexa, not sure I’d call myself a fan (did like her style for a point in time tho) but I do think it’s genuinely great that she’s worked at making a career for herself and continued at it despite setbacks etc. Was just trying to provide input as to how both were perceived in 2006/2007/2008 timeframe as I actually followed those discussions at the time they were happening via the original AM forum linked on their website, the initial thread for Alexa on TheFashionSpot, etc.
Yeah, we definitely appreciate your perspective even if it wasn't our experience. Everyone giving their own perspective on AM and Alexa fame definitely adds to the overall picture of how they were seen around the world and from different points of view so we definitely appreciate it! (Especially because you weren't demeaning to us or Alexa lol, thank you for that!)

Not gonna lie I thought Brittany did a good job considering the material she was given, but the problem with Vince Vaughn movies is that they are incredibly unfunny. They’re always stamped with the hallmark of an overgrown man child who still thinks dick jokes are funny.
So I knew going into this movie that I was merely watching it for Brittany Snow and not for a decent plot or laughs, either of which would’ve been a pleasant surprise. Alex Moffat was his usual perpetually stuck in an SNL Skit self and Justin Long while descent, I couldn’t deal with his weird drawl.
i agree with that assessment of VV movies. I think he has the capacity to hit his comedic beats, especially that genre, but it felt a little odd to see other people being the mouthpiece to his lines.
Also yes, Justin Long's accent was...interesting. I think he was trying to be VV??

a bunch of random george headcanons bc i feel bad i missed him in my movie night post :(
- to follow up. this man is a filmbro. he cannot watch any movie without thinking what he’s gonna rate it on letterboxd. it’s consumed him.
- that being said, he loves amercian psycho, clockwork orange, taxi driver and (as a treat) halloween 2k18
- says “debate me coward” whenever literally anyone contradicts him. (half inspired by an snl sketch)
- speaking of snl, his favorite seasons are def the ones with andy samberg.
- was a dinosaur kid, tod was a dragon kid
- hates summer. with a burning passion. also hates winter. he likes early spring
- has super strange reactions to everything. says the most out of pocket stuff while tod and alex are just kind of used to it. they have to explain what “blowing up a building” means, as it’s probably some dead inside joke
- also loves inside jokes. will only communicate that way sometimes
- loudly sings korn lyrics at sleepovers when other people are trying to sleep
- is never the first person to fall asleep at a sleepover. will ruin his sleep schedule to avoid that shame.
- never does anything half-assed. if he wants something, man is putting all the effort.
- a math kid. does tutoring and stuff on the side and will ask questions like “were you dropped on your head?” if the person still doesn’t understand. later explains that he really means no harm (he really has no filter, you saw the airplane scene)
- actually cares for tod, but isn’t afraid to throw small pebbles at him.
- thinks that anyone who has a different opinion than him should die (jokingly, but says it with a straight face)
- really likes scooby doo. views himself as fred, alex as shaggy and tod as scooby.
- writes in a leathery journal. it has a bunch of stuff in there. homework assignments, to-do lists, movies he saw that day, what he did, (poetry?)
- doesn’t get i.d’d at package stores because he looks “like a 30 year old man”
- plays hockey and football
- wants to skateboard but is afraid of falling and getting a severe brain injury
- knows incredibly useless information
- like incredibly useless
- quotes random movies and scenes when bored (has the huey lewis scene down to patrick’s facial expressions from american psycho)
that’s really it! i cant believe i missed him on my last post george bb i’m so sorry
