hello i was reading this lovely post (by @lollytea) that gave a good breakdown of the writers intent behind this scene, and i thought to myself “gee, i love it all in concept, but i wonder if they could’ve executed it better by emphasizing all of the things hunter’s fighting for in the actual moment itself?”. then i remembered that i have the power of editing, and made this! complete with the cheesy white vignette toh likes to stick on flashback scenes that i love jgvhnfchgfc
I love so much that echo isn't forgotten about. You feel his absence from the very beginning and it's a focus throughout the entire episode. I've seen many a lesser show sweep this kind of thing under the rug and pretend it never happened, and it makes me so happy to see people hurting and feeling that absence. A part of their family is gone and they need time to process. Idk it just means a lot to me 🤧
for the oc ask game: betrayal for amaldyne? i feel like there's something juicy there..... (or u can do whatever prompt u want but i Am curious abt the dragon....)
Ahhh ty for the ask!! Ooooh that's an interesting one. I guess Amaldyne's whole story would be one long betrayal of her loved ones, her family's memory, and her own personal values. She's very intense and very driven, and these traits mix very badly with her coping strategy of "focus on saving the world/winning the war with the gods instead of dealing with literally any of her personal problems for even five whole minutes." The more time passes, the further she leans in to the god she "begrudgingly" serves, the more toxic she gets, the more willing she becomes to use, lie to, and ultimately discard everyone around her. Unfortunately, I don't have any specific examples, but I'm sure by the end of things when the world's been irrevocably changed by Amaldyne's own claws, just about everyone who ever knew her or believed in her cause feels pretty fucking bitter about how it all turned out.
Similarly, I don't have any specific examples of her being betrayed (at least none that are an official "canon"), but after a certain point she considers anybody disagreeing with her ever to be a betrayal. For whatever period of time in which she has any level of authority over a large number of people (I imagine that she is, for a time, a higher up or even leader of some sort of militia organization working to fight the gods and their servants), she has something of a revolving door of assistants because everyone near her on the power ladder inevitably winds up '"betraying" her/The Cause (read: disagreeing with her about something). This leads to a lot of big, blow-out arguments.
i should not be allowed to read this author at emotional times. like. late at night. relocated from sleeping on the sofa (again lmao) at like 2am and was awake and i had mentioned that i really loved the play that one author had written (yes, the one filling me with admiration and envy so bad that let's not get into that) to my teacher and she also really likes that author and loaned me two books of his. so i decided, hey, i'm gonna read a bit, either i get tired and fall asleep (good) or i finish the book (also good) except now i'm hit once again by this stupid emotion mocktail i wanna write like that so so so bad but i'll never be able to write this or something like it because he already did that, that's the point, so now i'm tired but still not sleeping because ough and also i should really analyse the story maybe
mentioned this yesterday but man idk if its bc im coming off of a much better show, but the dub voice acting in jn suddenly feels really really grating to me
Heyo just read your dying in space dream tags, i think you would like audio drama "the strange case of starship iris", or at least find the first episode strangely very familiar cause like wow buddy
sldjdsj actually enough people brought that up that i went and read the episode transcript and yeah i can see what you mean!
Daisy is funny to me because he tried sooooo hard to be a stereotypical straight girl but he just soooo failed and is now a gay man who will bite people. Also mental illness
