A Bit More Info on the Update Mechanics

The decision on which club you join is one of the first questions in Chapter 1, so players will have to restart from pretty early on. However the fencing club flavor text will continue to run throughout the rest of the game (including in the Camelot dream sequence with the Courtyard branch for the Lucid Dreamer MC).

Otherwise this current update does not progress the game further into Chapter 2.

We lost power to part of the house (thankfully not including my computer), and while I'm usually the one who deals with the circuit breakers, since I'm currently sick I asked my mother to do it this one time. She turned the power off to the entire house. 🥲 The uninterruptible power source did nothing and now my computer and the microwave are bugging out. I'm just going to lie down now.

Hi, friend, I hope you can kindly help me again. I’m studying the Uruk text BRM 4.20, about astral magic, and the lines 5-7 begin as follows:

5 ki.ág.gá nita ana munus

[love of a man for a woman]

6 ki.ág.gá munus ana nita

[love of a woman for a man]

7 ki.ág.gá nita ana nita

[love of a man for a man]

(No lesbian astral magic here, sadly)

I’ve sent to you the best image I could take of those lines in the tablet. And I figured out the signs for “nita” and “munus”, though the sign for “ana” seems simplified. But the first part, “ki.ág.gá”, doesn’t seem to correspond well to the dictionarized signs. Is it some different writing system? The text is dated around early Hellenistic period, if that helps.

Hello! I think the issue is that you've transcribed these words slightly incorrectly. There's an important distinction between the g sound in Sumerian and the ng sound, often written ĝ in modern sources (but as ŋ in e.g. the ePSD). So the sign ag2 (which I'm not sure exists?) is not to be confused with ang2 𒉘, which is what's written here. It's a little sloppy, but these signs are pretty clearly to me 𒆠𒉘𒂷 ki-ang2-nga2 kianga "beloved, the love". The full text in "standard" cuneiform would be

We meet in a remote area on the eastern side of the coast, where Dr. Solana Garcia is researching a rare strain of heirloom corn in the region. She explained to me the importance of saving this particular species, as many seed savers say it is the mother to many. There’s a sort of dreamy haze in her eyes as she speaks about the seeds in the palm of her hand. It is obvious this work taps into a deeper part of the young woman before me. Her energy is just as contagious as it is in the rallies she leads. We sit under an apple tree after we pick a few of our own. I’m amazed by the loud crunch it makes as teeth meet flesh, and by the juicy bounty that fills my tastebuds — I don’t remember the last time I tasted something with this much flavor.

JK: Dr. Solana-Garcia, thank you for agreeing to do this interview with me. If it’s okay with you, we’ll get right to the questions on everyone’s mind.

RSG: Hit me with ‘em.

JK: You’ve made quite a name for yourself in the circles of environmentalists. Some might even say your popularity grew at an unprecedented rate…that your tactics are on the rather extremist and radical side. Do you fear this overshadows the importance of the work you’re doing, or even erases it?

She laughs, neither flinching from the question nor appearing surprised by it.

RSG: I fear that whenever anyone goes against the status quo they’re deemed radicals or extremists, yet these accusations remain one-sided. Do we not dare to call those who have pushed the boundaries of human and technology fusion radicals? What about the millions of acres they are destroying in the process of making more Hacked? No, I do not fear my words or growth take away from the work, instead, I’ll pushback, arguing that if something I say or do in the name of balance for both humans and this planet makes someone uncomfortable then they ought to look deeper inside them and ask: what exactly is making them uncomfortable? Is it the fact that

I am questioning their morals and ethics. I know I am steady on my stance — those who care to do good have nothing to fear. Are my methods any more extreme than the eradication of major resources on this planet?

JK: Fair enough, but you operate more loudly for rather polarizing stances, wouldn’t you agree? You’re an advocate for armed resistance, for disruptive organizing, and rather vocal around your lack of support for the government’s complicity with the Anti-Green Generation. Some would even ask, have you ever thought about running for office yourself?

RSG: For office? Never. I refuse to be a paper-pusher in a broken system. I work on more important matters, like ensuring we don’t lose all access to our seeds and freedom to grow our food. As for my lack of support for the government’s refusal to call out AG2’s destruction of this planet, I think it’s fairly obvious where my stance is. Besides…anyone who directly calls themselves Anti-Green freely is a threat to the balance of this world. Yet are they labeled extremist as I am?

I suppose the question here is what differentiates us…and I’d say on one end, we want to ensure that humanity lives on and that there’s a planet to inhabit. They push for the melding of humans and computers, no matter the costs: where do we draw the line in our advancement? There’s a difference between aid to help people with sight or hearing or suffering from illnesses, but we’re talking about cosmetic technology that completely alters our DNA for no purpose other than to make rich people’s lives easier, no matter its cost to the planet. Destroying our world so Rich Dick can blink his eyes to see how much money is in his bank account is a bit ridiculous to me.

JK: Yes it does seem rather silly when we have current technology that does this, even if we have to wait a few minutes for it. There are some promising key features as you mentioned, but for whom?

RSG: Exactly, and the other question that comes into play is that access to these technologies. Even in the case of their widespread existence, those who most need things will be waiting years to access them because of their obscene prices. They’ll fill them with ads as one way, just selling us the next upgrade until we’re cut off from the most advanced.

JK: I want to get back to your organizing efforts. They’re quite impressive, and as I mentioned the traction you’ve gained is quite large. You say you’re not interested in politics, but many would say that is exactly why you should. Nonetheless, your tactics while deemed extreme are effective, can you tell the readers more about your influences?

RSG: Maybe a few true historical radicals…but my main influences were —

TUMBUH : Sedang berlangsung, Terjeda atau Terhenti ???

Masih ingat tren memelihara tanaman hias saat pandemi? Ibu yang suka bercocok tanam tidak mau ketinggalan tren ini. Beberapa tanaman dibeli, seperti Janda Bolong, Lidah Mertua, Kuping Gajah, Gelombang Cinta, Sirih Gading, Aglonema dan beberapa tanaman lain yang tidak aku ketahui apa namanya. Banyak ya? Merawat tanaman-tanaman ini menjadi pengisi rutinitas kami di rumah. Berkurangnya kegiatan saat pandemi tentu membuat sedih, namun aktivitas merawat tanaman ini ternyata mendatangkan kesenangan.

Tanaman-tanaman Ibu tumbuh subur, bahkan si Aglonema berkembang biak dengan baik.  Ibu memberi PR merawat 5 anakan Aglonema kepadaku. Mungkin sedang menguji apakah sense merawat tanaman dengan baik kumiliki atau tidak. Hmm, aku meragukannya. Ini kali pertama aku diberi tugas seperti ini. PR itu aku terima. Bertekad memberikan perawatan seperti yang Ibu lakukan sebelumnya. Watering yang rutin, mengatur penempatan agar mendapat sinar matahari yang cukup, dan memberi pupuk.

Beberapa pekan berjalan. Aku sepertinya menikmati aktivitas ini. Bahkan aku memberi mereka nama, AG1, AG2, AG3, AG4, dan AG5. Suka sekali melihat mereka tumbuh segar. Batang-batang baru tumbuh. Daun-daun muda bermunculan. Warna daunnya cantik, hijau dan merah muda. Apakah ini tanda aku berhasil merawat mereka? Rasa percaya diriku jadi meningkat karena merasa bisa merawat, hehehe. Aku mengamati mereka setiap hari, menghitung batang dan daun yang baru. Aku juga menulis catatan pertumbuhan mereka. Sungguh hal ini sangat mengisi waktu kosongku.

Suatu hari, aku menyadari sesuatu. Satu dari lima Aglonemaku menunjukkan sesuatu yang berbeda. AG1, daunnya terlihat sedikit layu. Mencoba mengingat apa yang tidak aku lakukan. Aku merasa sudah memberikan perawatan yang sama setiap harinya. Aaah, Aku jadi ingat. Sudah tiga hari rupanya, aku tidak menulis catatan pertumbuhan mereka. Kesibukan dunia hybrid mulai mendistraksi rutinitas yang aku lakukan pada Aglonema ini. Aku memeriksa mereka satu-persatu dan membuka lagi catatan tumbuh itu. Mulai menuliskan kondisi terkini, membandingkan dengan kondisi sebelumnya.

Hasil pengamatan terkini, batang AG1 ternyata tidak sekokoh yang Aglonema lainnya. Ternyata daunnya pun tidak layu saja, ada beberapa yang menguning. Jumlah daun barunya juga tidak sebanyak yang lainnya. Aku bertanya-tanya, kenapa bisa begini? Aku mencoba memeriksa detail, diliputi rasa penasaran. Tidak ada ulat. Tidak ada gulma. Jadi kenapa ya, AG1 ini? Aku bertanya pada Ibu, beliau juga tidak mengerti.Lalu, aku cari di internet penyebab kondisi ini. Aku baca artikel tanaman satu-persatu. Mungkin ada hama yang luput dari pandangan kami.

Busuk Akar. Ya, mungkin akar AG1 yang tidak terlihat itu sedang busuk. Masalah serius jika menyangkut akar.“Busuk akar adalah penyakit tanaman yang susah ditangani.” Antara peduli dan tidak membaca kalimat itu di internet. Aku tetap mencari cara menyelamatkannya. Ketemu! Ada beberapa hal yang harus dilakukan. Tanaman harus dicabut dulu dari media tanam.  Langkah selanjutnya, menggunting semua akar busuk dengan gunting steril lalu buang akar-akar busuk. Lalu, cuci akar dengan air hangat. Buang daun-daun yang menguning. Langkah terakhir, tanam kembali.

Langkah-langkah penyelamatan AG1 bbaru bisa aku lakukan di hari berikutnya. Tidak memiliki gunting steril jadi sebab hal ini tertunda. Agak khawatir memikirkan harus mencabut AG1 dari media tanam dan menggunting beberapa bagian tubuh tanaman ini. Kalau tidak dilakukan, malah bisa mati nanti. Aku melakukan langkah-langkah penyelamatan dengan sangat hati-hati. Sambil selalu berbisik, “hidup AG1, hidup AG1, hidup AG1” dengan penuh semangat. Berimajinasi dia mendengarnya, mau hidup dan tumbuh seperti teman-temannya lagi nanti. Setelah beberapa menit, sampai juga pada langkah terakhir. Menanamnya kembali. Sekali lagi aku berbisik pada AG1, “semoga kamu hidup lagi dengan baik.”

Aku tidak mau melewatkan lagi menulis catatan tumbuh mereka. Hal apa saja yang aku lihat, perlakuan apa saja yang diberikan. Sedetail mungkin aku tulis, termasuk cerita penyelamatan itu. Pikirku, itu sangat membantu untuk mendeteksi apa yang terjadi dan segera mendapatkan penanganan yang seharusnya jika terjadi sesuatu. Tidak sadar, aku juga menuangkan perasaanku. Sedih melihat salah satu dari mereka tidak tumbuh seperti yang lainnya. Aku akui ada yang luput dari perhatian, dan hal itu cukup fatal. Hmm.. masalahnya juga tidak terlihat di pandangan sih ya, di akar yang tertanam didalam. Itulah yang membuat tidak segera tahu apa yang sebenarnya terjadi.

Entah kenapa pikiranku melayang ke lain hal. Seperti terlalu meresapi proses tumbuh mereka. Aku membayangkan sesuatu. Bagaimana jika itu terjadi pada kita, manusia? Pikiranku melayang jauh rupanya. Aku jadi mengingat-ingat, adakah orang – orang disekitarku yang ternyata mengalami hal serupa AG1? Tak disadari proses tumbuhnya, berlangsung baik atau tidak. Sedang tumbuh, terjeda, atau bahkan berhenti, terhambat oleh hal-hal yang tidak terlihat. Kondisi yang mungkin tidak disadari diri sendiri maupun orang lain. Sedih juga membayangkannya. Berefleksi dari penyelamatan AG1 membuat aku mengingat-ingat lagi, "adakah hal-hal yang luput ku perhatikan dari orang-orang sekitarku?"  Tiba-tiba aku kepikiran. “Jangan-jangan aku sendiri yang sedang terjeda atau bahkan berhenti tumbuhnya?”

Pertanyaan hasil refleksi itu menggelayuti pikiranku berhari-hari. Aku coba mencari-cari indikator tumbuh itu apa saja, dan bagaimana. Kekhawatiran juga menyelimuti perasaan dan pikiranku. “Bagaimana kalau ternyata itu terjadi padaku ya?” “Lalu, jika aku tidak tumbuh baik, maka aku harus melakukan langkah penyelamatan seperti yang terjadi pada AG1, begitukah?” Masalahnya, ini terjadi pada manusia. Proses itu terlihat menyakitkan, tidak menyamankan, melelahkan juga mungkin. “Bagaimana jika setelah langkah-langkah penyelamatan itu, ternyata tak kunjung juga hasil tumbuh baik itu hadir?” Bayang-bayang pikiran aneh hasil refleksi itu belum mau pergi. Sampai saat ini, belum juga aku temukan kepastian jawabannya.

はじめに

普段ブログ等の媒体を行使していないため、昔極たまに記録してたtumblrをこの為に掘り起こしてみました。Ingress ENL AGのRasmil7(a.k.a 楽さん)と申します。

2022年、今年もあっという間でした。

皆様今年はどのように過ごされましたか？

私が住んでいる沖縄県では、やはり人の動きが激しい＆狭い県の為かコロナウイルスの流行に���感になる日々を昨年同様に送ってた様に感じます。とは言え、ずっとコロナ禍とも言ってられない昨今。Ingress界隈では久々のリアルイベントが徐々に再開されてきましたね。直近の横浜アノマリーに思いを馳せる方々も多いのでは無いでしょうか。

そんな年の瀬に、12月3日 FS@Home in 沖縄 の開催を決定。今後の開催がされないかもしれないバーチャルイベントの方です。せっかくの残り僅かとなるであろうバーチャルFS開催の記念に、沖縄のIngress事情を踏まえたミッションを作成してみました。

本記事ではミッションの解説等を出来ればと思っております。普段文章もそんなに書くことが無いため、拙い部分があるかと思いますが、少しの間お付き合いくださいませ。

■1-6　おばけチキン

おばけ、と聞いてピンと来られた方はいらっしゃるでしょうか？

12月にFSをやろうと決心した際、「どうせなら何か企画をひとつ作りたい！」と思い、以前リアルイベントのFS(FS那覇 :2019.2月開催)でやられてたようなミッションを作成したいと考えました。

普段仲良くさせていただいており、ミッションメダル作成にも定評がある、RES AG:sasakenさんにお声かけし、メダルイラストを提供して頂きました。

■Question

台湾は電箱と呼ばれたポータルが非常に多くて迷いますが、本土から来たAgentが困った沖縄で多いポータル名とは？　※カタカナ4文字、ヒントはさっき回ったポータルです！

台湾の「電箱」私自身なんの事かさっぱり分からず調べたのですが、日本にもある電圧機等が入っているプラスチック製の屋外箱、これを「電箱」と呼んでるんですね！

どうやら台湾にはこの電箱がポータルになってる箇所が���い様です。地域ならではの不思議。

そこで我らが沖縄県ですが、沖縄の道中至る所に居ます。守護神「○ー○ー」が！

Ingress初期頃は母音を増やしたり、ローマ字書きにしたりと……色々と工夫してポータル申請を行ってたと良く聞きました(笑)

■2-6　おばけ靴下

■Question

このミッションのアイコンのおばけですが、このポータルの旧崇元寺は沖縄戦の激しい戦火で建物は喪失していますが、敷地に入ると“幸せを呼ぶ精霊”とも“いたずら好きの妖怪”の気配がします。その精霊もしくは妖怪の名前は？　※カタカナ5文字で！

おばけイラストにマジムン話の設問を掛け合わせてくるセンスに脱帽！(沖縄では、おばけや妖怪は、方言でマジムンと呼ばれてます)

そんなマジムンの中でも1番有名なのが、「キジムナー」ではないでしょうか。子供みたいにイタズラ好きで、幸せを呼ぶとも言われています！本土で言う「座敷わらし」と似たような感じですね。

■3-6　おきなわ

沖縄は海に囲まれていて、沖縄本島を囲むBAFをしやすいですが、それを一人でやっちゃおうと初めに思って実行して成功させた陣営はどっち？

「オキナワ」という文字メダルにちなんだ設問。こちらの作戦は「Op.ひとりでできるもん」という作戦名でした。本当に1人で海を渡りやってのけてしまったので、当時は「女帝」と呼ばれ当然話題になりました(笑)今でも現役バリバリの素敵なAGさんです。

■4-6　エフエス

■Question

FSといえば、クロスミション！首里城復興を願って、青と緑で首里城アートを作成しましたね。そんな首里城の木曳式も終わり、復元工事がスタートしましたが、首里城正殿の復元予定は西暦何年？※数字4文字で！

「エフエス」という文字メダルにちなんだ設問。2019年10月末日に火災で消失してしまった首里城の復興を祈願して、その年の12月にXFでフィールドアートを行ったというものです。私は当時仕事で不参加だったのですが、沖縄AGの軌跡がフィールドに表現され、その後の打ち上げでお話を沢山聞いて胸が熱くなりました。参加したかった！

実はこちらも首里からスタートするフィールドアートの記念ミッションがライブしております。

首里城正殿の復興は2026年予定。何度も燃えて復興する首里城ですが、次はどのような形で蘇るか楽しみですね！

■5-6　てぃだプレゼント

おばけ、文字、につづき、沖縄のレッサーパンダ、てぃだくんの登場です。サンタ帽がとってもお似合いですね。てぃだくんは過去にFS那覇に参加してたりしました。皆さんの手元にもBiocardがあるかもしれませんね？

沖縄でもノヴァが流行りましたね！青チームは、2021年 「Op.ハッピーターン」があり、緑チームは、2022年 「Ops.神輿は軽いほうがいい」がありました。では、この二つのノヴァ本数を合計すると何本？a,b,cのいずれかで答えてください。

しかし二つ足しても日本記録の 2020/10/17 逗子(神奈川) ENL 7,913 超えないんだね～。

IngressのAGさん方のオペレーション名のセンスは一体どこから湧いてくるのでしょう。

「Op.ハッピーターン」好物のハッピーターンから来ているようです(笑)

翌年に「Op.神輿は軽い方がいい」が実行。(実はこの「神輿」という字が読めずに、しん？こう？とずっと読んでおりました、恥)

RESの本数越えを目指して、ENLも大奮闘！

Ag2S Quantum Dots

CD Bioparticles provides NIR-II-emitting Ag2S quantum dots (QDs). It is well known that light from visible to NIR wavelengths (650–1350 nm) is noninvasive for detecting and imaging of abnormal tissue.
