Title of these paintings: “Grebo 1-6”, 9x12 inches, oil on canvas board
I had the immense honor and pleasure of being a student at Ox-Bow School of Art in Michigan! For two weeks, I took a class on Color, learning how to oil paint for the first time ever. I created a series of paintings that allowed me not only to improve my knowledge of use of color, but to delve into a more personal project of mine using Liberian Grebo masks and my love for toys and figures.
I met so many great artists, both students and professionals that I hope to continue to connect with beyond this program. Thank you to everyone I met over there :)
I especially want to thank my friend Max for offering me this opportunity, and encouraging me to go at points that I was doubtful. Im so happy we got to room together and connect during our time there.
