Lovely to meet an artist you know well, but always especially wonderful to meet a work you’ve never seen by them before. I think this might actually eclipse the olive harvesters as my favorite Van Gogh.
[ID: A framed painting by Van Gogh, signed in the lower left corner. A bright yellow woven basket, holding several vividly rendered oranges in red and gold, sits on a highly textured table done in pale cream and blue, with a blue-and-green background. It is breathtakingly vibrant and bright.]

Me: This is a rocking chair designed by a guy named Bugatti. Is that like. THE Bugatti?
Them: It’s the father of the car guy Bugatti.
Me: Fastest rocking chair ever, I’m guessing.
[ID: A photograph of a stylish wooden rocking chair, a seat and back with no arms and a sinuous leg design; it is glassed in, and the placard nearby reads “Rocker, about 1903″ and attributes the design to a Carlo Bugatti.]
