PHS Assets
Designed For: PHS International Designed: 2011-2015
PHS International is an adult novelty producer/distributor with multiple product lines with distinct brands catering to different sexual aesthetics, as well as being the largest distributor of PRIDE paraphernalia in the United States. While at PHS I was the sole graphic designer and brand manager – basically a one-person show making all the art needed by the company.
All products created by PHS are packaged inside of circular & oblong plastic clam shells, and I became very good at communicating with our Chinese manufacturers and printers to create new packaging inserts that adhered to the necessary protocol to set up our die line sheets correctly. I also created plan-o-grams for both standing displays and slat-wall displays for different store fronts across the U.S. Some stores carried whole lines from PHS including Eldorado, Honey’s Place, Williams Trading, and more.
I created advertisements and staged photo-shoots for placement and use in major adult novelty publications including Porn UP, StorErotica, and ANME XBIZ. I also designed, printed, laminated, and hand-constructed (you read that right!) large-format pieces for convention spaces. I also created all marketing campaigns used on fliers, mass mailers, and catalogs--including creating new designs and taking new photos of all products we carried.
During my tenure, I also rebranded the PHS logo updating it from a 90’s look to something more modern and representative of their three main product lines. I also created two brands for new product lines that are still highly successful for PHS to this day – ‘Ka-POW! Colored Leather’ and ‘Bijoux de Nip’.

The teen one. But please, be honest.
My honest opinion is that is something you have to decide for yourself. I was a teen with suicidal ideation once. Now I am an adult with suicidal ideation. Not to be preachy or cliche, but you can decide to live as many times as you want and still change your mind later, but the decision to die is final. It’s a one way street to a destination you don’t know.
Personally, I don’t know much about you. All I have to go on are the thirteen words you sent to me anonymously on a blog site. I could send you suicide hotlines to talk one on one with someone more qualified at talking people off of those ledges, and if you’d like I can certainly find you some, but I’m guessing you could find those yourself just as easily as you sent these asks if you wanted, and I can’t make you call or even know if that’s helpful to you because I’m just a stranger on the Internet.
What I can say is that life has the potential to get better, death does not. As I said, the decision always has been and always will be yours, but it is a decision easier to make one way or the other as an adult. Sometimes the feelings of hopelessness go away when you move out and start a new life for yourself away from things you didn’t even realize were stressful, and I’m going to be honest, high school is much worse than the average job.
All I can really say in the end is this much, anon— there are experiences you can only have as an adult, and you may well be missing out on happiness if you made the choice to leave it all behind. Focus and think hard on the things you would miss and the things that would miss you. It doesn’t have to be much, lord knows I kept myself alive in 2016 because I wanted to play Breath of the Wild before I died, but if you can find yourself solid tether points to tie yourself to, you can make it.
I don’t know how helpful any of this actually is, as I said I’m not really qualified to tell someone if growing up and being alive are worth it or not, but I wanted to give you a sincere answer to a sincere question instead of throwing phone numbers or apps at you. That said, life tends to have a higher chance of getting better for you as an adult if it seems grim as a teen.
The question to ask yourself is not whether or not being an adult is worth it, it’s whether or not suicide is worth it.

Being small is so good! It amplifies so many emotions n makes me soooo happy and excited!! But it also makes bad emotions super duper big. Every baby responds differently when things like anger or being sad and crying get in the way of play-time, but from one kiddo to another, bear is here to tell you that it’s okay. That, even though we’re feeling big emotions, this headspace is meant for us to get them out safely, without harming ourselves or others. It’s okay to cry about what we missed out on, or what we experienced or are experiencing. This is our time to feel emotions that being big would usually stop us from feeling.

Ka-Pow Color!
Logo & Branding Designed For: PHS International Designed: 2014 This is one of two branding lines that I created entirely from scratch. The main feature of this line of products is the vibrant, playful colors. Due to limited budget, I knew that all photography and graphics would need to be made directly by me without the use of any stock assets. I felt that the best marriage of all these factors would be a comic book art style. I used halftones, comic-inspired typefaces, and comic-styled characters to build the brand--all in the colors of the products themselves. This brand has been rolled out across multiple pieces of collateral including display and package design; free-standing 6” cutouts and wall signage for stores & conventions; as well as advertisements placed within various industry magazines like “StorErotica”. All product photography and editing used in this brand was created by me, including the swag bag materials to draw crowds in. This line was a huge success and struggled keeping up with demand due to its popularity.
