• I’m an adult. I eat at McDonald’s. I loved Happy Meals. So why is the Adult Happy Meal Cactus Plant Flea Market thing happening right now so confusing to me? What is Cactus Plant Flea Market? A clothing line? Never heard of it. Why is this something McDonald’s and its adult patrons are interested in? Have I reached the pinnacle of out of touch, uncool dad? If so, I might be okay with that.
• All binges in moderation.
• I really am interested in my wife’s side of the argument on Facebook. But I’m more interested in hearing the side of the crazy bitch mean girl idiot who started it all.
• What’s more exhausting? Being a parent to two children; your traditional autumnal depression; the national Adderall shortage?
• The midterm elections are going to reveal some hard but obvious truths… America and its electorate suck.
• While it’s not fun to see Tom Brady’s marriage deflate like one of his footballs, it does feel like some kind of justice.

It’s Christmas morning and your parents actually got you that 7ft tall robot jester you’ve been raving about and now you have to awkwardly unwrap them in front of the rest of your family.

HEEYYYYY~ Rottmnt Headcanons (Junior again)
Casey wasn't trained to fight he was trained to survive.
Casey is a small human child he wouldn't be able to do crap against the Kraang even with straight up combat training.
He wasn't trained to kill unless the opponent was capable of dying and he's able to overpower it.
Casey was taught to survive, to hurt and run, to outmaneuver pursuers, and outwait creatures that outmatch him like Kraang Dogs or the Kraang themselves.
Casey isn't a hunter or an equal. Casey is a scavenger, a prey with a chainsaw. The moment you separate him from whatever's protecting him, be it tech, shelter or a person it's basically game over.
I'm not saying he's weak (HE THREW AN ACTIVE MISSILE WITH A GRAPPLING HOOK AND HIS BODY!) But Casey was trained to not die, (most specifically) he was trained to back out, run away and hide to lick his wounds and to see another day not to live in the in any other sense of the word but the definition. He's alive, his heart's beating. Because he runs when he needs to and fights to remain breathing in a world no longer meant for any living being.
Leo didn't get to teach Casey how the live, they could barely give him a childhood between the eight of them.
Casey was never taught to fight his enemies unless he absolutely had to he was taught to fight for a place in a new day of life.

Okay, I have to assume that most other people missed that the Collector wasn’t demanding pizza bagels for himself, but instructing Odalia to make pizza bagels for the Owl Beast. Because I cannot be the only person who is way too amused by the mental image of King or Lilith curtly accepting “kiddy”/junk food meal service from Odalia. The insult upon injury for poor Eda and Lilith that the only hot meals they get are like, pizza bagels and dinosaur chicken nuggets and Happy Meals. Please someone help them, they’ve already suffered enough
#the owl house#insert boiling isles versions of dino chicken nuggets and Happy Meals there#the bag of birdseed for a bird of prey and pizza bagels for a bird of prey and an adult woman…#i think the collector was joking about having no idea what mortals eat but they are uh. clearly shaky on the details#i also think you can interpret this as a problem with theory of mind#iirc kids the age of the collector ‘should’ be at a developmental stage where they understand adults have different tastes#so the collector suggesting food that they seem to find interesting/that is an appealing ‘kiddy’ food#is another detail suggesting that for whatever reason the collector has trouble grasping what other people might want#to an extent that is unusual for a kid of their apparent age + at their level of language and reasoning ability#i don’t think it’s just him being too self-centered to think about it#b/c he wants to get on eda and king’s good sides#I think he is pretty self-centered but this is also something he truly struggles with#(I do think pizza bagels are kind of juvenile and meant to suggest the collector being childish)#(but I eat them like once a week myself tbh)#(so like. no criticism intended for my fellow adult pizza bagels eaters. or dinosaur chicken nuggets or whatever.)

I feel like this guy is competing with me by remembering how he was at my age — always has.
And (unrelated) if I criticize him or say anything at all with anything other than happiness or neutrality in my voice, his response is always “Sorry, but you have to understand I’m not feeling good right now. I’m trying to be a father to you; I wish I had a father at your age. I’m suffering. I have [this this and this] wrong with me; and THE ELDERS—“ Dad, Dad… you NEVER feel good; you know this and you’ve lied to me COUNTLESS times by saying you’d try to get help. Go to therapy for fuck’s sake.
“But Jehovah’s organization!” Fuck Jehovah’s organization. If Jehovah’s organization really cared about its members, you wouldn’t be so frightened of defaming its good name at the expense of your mental and PHYSICAL health. If Jehovah’s organization really cared for you, you wouldn’t be hiding your trauma from people who can help “because it’ll hurt Jehovah” like a wife who developed Stockholm syndrome from being beaten by her love-bombing husband.
